Station Tour Notes

  • Groups should be no larger than 25 persons (this includes both children and adults). There must be one adult chaperone for every five children. Children under the age of 3 may be frightened by the noises and surroundings and typically do not understand the tour information. Therefore, the majority of children must be older than 4 years old.
  • Please understand your tour may be interrupted. Fire stations must remain "in-service" during the tour and firefighters may need to respond to emergencies. If this occurs, it will be necessary for the tour to end and your group to exit the station. If your tour is interrupted by an emergency call, you will be given the opportunity to reschedule your visit.
  • If firefighters are not at the station when your group arrives, they are likely out on an emergency call. We recommend you wait 15 minutes for their return. If they do not return in that time, it will be necessary to reschedule your tour.
  • You are welcome to tour a fire station but may not hold parties at the facility. Please do not bring food or drinks into the fire station during tours. Carpooling to the fire station is highly encouraged due to limited parking. Street parking is not available at many fire stations.

Moscow Metro

The Moscow Metro Tour is included in most guided tours’ itineraries. Opened in 1935, under Stalin’s regime, the metro was not only meant to solve transport problems, but also was hailed as “a people’s palace”. Every station you will see during your Moscow metro tour looks like a palace room. There are bright paintings, mosaics, stained glass, bronze statues… Our Moscow metro tour includes the most impressive stations best architects and designers worked at - Ploshchad Revolutsii, Mayakovskaya, Komsomolskaya, Kievskaya, Novoslobodskaya and some others.

What is the kremlin in russia?

The guide will not only help you navigate the metro, but will also provide you with fascinating background tales for the images you see and a history of each station.

And there some stories to be told during the Moscow metro tour! The deepest station - Park Pobedy - is 84 metres under the ground with the world longest escalator of 140 meters. Parts of the so-called Metro-2, a secret strategic system of underground tunnels, was used for its construction.

During the Second World War the metro itself became a strategic asset: it was turned into the city's biggest bomb-shelter and one of the stations even became a library. 217 children were born here in 1941-1942! The metro is the most effective means of transport in the capital.

There are almost 200 stations 196 at the moment and trains run every 90 seconds! The guide of your Moscow metro tour can explain to you how to buy tickets and find your way if you plan to get around by yourself.

15 People Injured in Universal Studios Hollywood Tram Crash, Authorities Say

Fifteen people were injured when a tram crashed at Universal Studios Hollywood on Saturday night, according to authorities.

The Los Angeles County Fire Department shared on social media that it responded to the theme park just after 9 p.m. for reports of a crash.

“A tram tour was in progress on the Universal Studios Hollywood back lot,” Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department told The Hollywood Reporter in a statement. “The tram had just passed the Jurassic Park Cars and was making a turn to head northbound on Avenue M. Due to unknown reasons, while negotiating the turn onto Avenue M, the last car of the tram collided with a metal guardrail on the right side of the roadway causing it to tilt and eject multiple passengers from the tram.”

“Fifteen passengers were transported to local hospitals for medical treatment and evaluations with minor to moderate injuries,” the statement added. “The cause of the crash is still under investigation. Alcohol and drugs are not considered to be a factor in this crash.”

A spokesperson with Universal Studios Hollywood shared in a statement to THR Saturday night, “There was a tram incident at the theme park tonight that resulted in multiple minor injuries, confirmed by the LA County Fire Dept. We are working to support our guests and understand the circumstances that led to the accident.”

Late Sunday afternoon, a Universal Studios Hollywood spokesperson shared an updated statement: “Saturday night on the Studio Tour, a tram collided with a guard rail while making a left turn. Our thoughts continue to be with the guests who were involved, and we are thankful that based on agency reports, the injuries sustained were minor. We are working closely with public agencies, including the California Highway Patrol, as we continue our review of the incident and safety remains a top priority. We have resumed Studio Tour operations with a modified route and are reinforcing our operational and safety protocols.”

Universal Studios tour is one of the theme park's most popular attractions, taking riders on a one-hour backlot tour to see behind the scenes where some of Hollywood’s most memorable films and television shows were filmed. Some of the movie sets featured in the tour are Jaws and Jordan Peele's Nope .

Starting next week, Universal Studios Hollywood is also celebrating the 60th anniversary of the ride, which they called the “World-Famous Studio Tour,” after its debut in 1964.

April 21, 11:41 a.m. Updated with statement from Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. (AP) — More than a dozen people suffered minor injuries when a tram used for tours crashed into a railing at Universal Studios Hollywood near Los Angeles, authorities and the company said.

Los Angeles County Fire Department units responded shortly after 9 p.m. Saturday to the theme park in Universal City, about 10 miles (16 kilometers) northwest of downtown LA, the agency said in a social media post.

A Universal Studios Hollywood spokesperson confirmed in an email to The Associated Press that there were "multiple minor injuries" but didn't provide details on the accident.

The fire department said 15 people were transported to hospitals with minor injuries.

Sheriff's Lt. Maria Abal said the four-car tram used for movie studio backlot tours might have experienced an issue with its brakes.

The California Highway Patrol will lead the investigation, the fire department said.

The tram circuit, called the World-Famous Studio Tour, offers a glimpse behind the scenes of Universal movies including "Jaws" and Jordan Peele's "Nope." The theme park will celebrate the 60th anniversary of the tour starting Friday.

NEW MILFORD, CT (InvestigateTV) - Meet Calley Thierfelder. This Connecticut teen spends her time traveling from school to the firehouse, then from the firehouse to the police department.

She is making an impact in her community , while also encouraging other girls and women to make the leap into male-dominated fields.

Whether she is on a fire truck or in a police car, she is there to help.

“My dad wanted me to grow up in an area with like-minded people. People who do things for the community,” Calley said.

She’s a member of the Northville Fire Department, working alongside her dad. She grew up going to calls in a car seat. Fourteen years later she joined the department.

Now, a high school junior, she’s responded to nearly half of the calls taken by the fire department in the past year.

“It’s quite fun because I am the smallest one so I can do all the fun jobs. I also like to see the faces on everyone when they see a 5′2″ girl beside a 6′ guy and I’m carrying just as much as they are,” said Calley.

On scene, she’s recognized not only by her pink shield but by the hard work she does too.

Her parents are proud of what she does.

“The best part of it is when it’s all over and other people tell me about what she’s done,” said Al and Jen Thierfelder.

Right down the road, Calley is a charter member of the New Milford Junior Police Cadets.

“As a police cadet and a firefighter and a training EMR when I’m on the scene I can get all aspects and help everybody mesh together because I know what they’re gonna need and help be a part of that,” Calley said.

Her advisor, Officer “Gee”, said the growth Calley has shown has been tremendous.

“She’s a role model to the other cadets and whenever we need assistance with new cadets she’s our go-to person and she’s shown great strength and leadership and taking her role responsibilities very seriously,” said Officer Gee Syan.

For Calley, it’s bigger than just going to work. It’s about being a role model to other girls and women. Encouraging them to do what they love, find a new interest, and be bold.

“Don’t be afraid of what you like, always do what you want because people that hold you back are always gonna be jealous of you. They wanna do what you wanna do,” Calley said.

Rochester man admits to beating victim with tire pump

ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) – The Rochester Police Department (RPD) arrested a man from Rochester at a halfway house for beating a victim with a metal tire pump Thursday.

Malik Amin Johnson, 44, is currently facing a second-degree charge for assault with a dangerous weapon and a fifth-degree charge for assault with intent to inflict bodily harm.

According to court documents, when RPD arrived on scene, they found the victim being actively treated for a head wound. Authorities said the victim was bleeding from the head, moaning, and making indiscernible sounds as if he were attempting to form words.

According to an eyewitness, the victim was sitting on a couch when Johnson exited his room, approached the victim and struck him on the head with a metal tire pump.

Due to the victim’s medical state, he was unable to provide a statement to RPD.

Officers located Johnson in another room with the weapon used to injure the victim. Johnson admitted to striking the victim in the head with the tire pump.

KTTC will update when more information is made available.
