• $1000 per year $500 per semester
• Open to all high school seniors in the surrounding counties (Tazewell, Mercer, Bland, and McDowell)
• Application deadline is around the second week in March every year
• We send copies of applications to the local guidance counselors but if a student requests one from us we can mail one
• Every year a scholarship recipient must submit their grades to us, carry a 3.0 GPA average, and remain a full time student in order to continue scholarship
• This scholarship is only available during undergraduate schooling, it does not extend to masters programs.

Dante Castrodale Memorial Scholarship

• $3,000 per year
• Open to all high school seniors in McDowell County schools
• Applications are to be turned into the McDowell County school board for committee selection.
• Every year a scholarship recipient must submit their grades to us and carry a 3.0 GPA average in order to continue scholarship
• This scholarship is available outside of undergraduate schooling if student graduates early but continues into further schooling. However, the committee will have approve before further assistance is granted.

The George Foundation Scholarship

The George Foundation Scholarship Portal

The george foundation scholarship is our flagship scholarship program that awards over $1.4 million to 150+ local students each year to pursue their higher education goals. .

Competitive candidates demonstrate strong academic performance and leadership in addition to financial need.  Special consideration may be made for unique student circumstances or students who are the first from their family to pursue higher education.   The scholarship must be utilized for an undergraduate program at public institutions of higher education located in the state of Texas.

Applicants must demonstrate strong academic performance and leadership in addition to financial need to be competitive in the application review.

Eligibility, How to Apply, & Timeline

Applicants must be a Fort Bend County resident, and an undergraduate. Applications open January 5 and are due by February 15.

George M. Pullman Educational Foundation Scholarship

The George M. Pullman Educational Foundation scholarship is open to high school seniors who reside in Cook County. Pullman Scholars receive up to $10,000 per year for four years to attend the college of university of their choice. Applications are due by February 1. Community First Bank strongly believes in the importance of education. A quality education is the building block that allows young people to compete in tomorrow’s world.

Since 1996, Community First Bank has annually awarded scholarships to graduating seniors from high schools in the Wisconsin communities we serve. Community First Bank (CFB) is pleased to provide $500 scholarships to high school seniors graduating from these area school districts in our general market area: Reedsburg, Boscobel, Richland Center, Livingston, Fennimore, Muscoda/Riverdale, Baraboo, Platteville, Prairie du Chien, Lancaster, Dodgeville, Mineral Point, North Crawford, Wisconsin Dells, River Ridge, Wauzeka-Steuben, Highland, Ithaca, Weston, and Belmont. In addition, $500 scholarships are available to incoming or current students of any campus of these colleges studying in the areas of agriculture or business: Southwest Technical College, Madison College, and University of Wisconsin – Platteville. Applications must be submitted directly to the college for consideration.

The scholarship criteria is based on academics, activities, leadership, achievements, accomplishments, and written communication.

George M. and Mary Jane Leader Scholarship

This fund was established after the passing of Mr. and Mrs. Leader with the intent to support and motivate youth from the City of Harrisburg to attend Harrisburg Area Community College, or participate in college in high school, and succeed in college level work. The George M. and Mary Jane Leader Scholarship was established specifically to support students from the Harrisburg School District attending John Harris High School, Sci-Tech High School, The Cougar Academy and The Harrisburg Virtual Learning Academy attending HACC to take college-level courses.

Scholarship applicants will be evaluated on the following criteria:

• Current junior or senior attending Harrisburg School District campuses
• Plans to attend HACC to take college-level academic courses
• Minimum 2.5 GPA
• Supplemental documents. This may include a resume, letter(s) of recommendation, transcript, FAFSA Student Aid Report (SAR), or other scholarship-specific documents. Specific requirements are noted in the application.

Additional Requirement

Recipients must create a video testimonial showing how helpful this fund has been for them. At the end of the semester, students will be asked to submit to The Foundation for Enhancing Communities their video testimonial.

Renewability

Recipients of this scholarship may apply again. Students must submit a full application but may be prompted to complete a different essay.

Incoming MSU freshmen are invited to apply for the George M. Luckey, Jr. Honors Scholarship. The scholarship is highly competitive and only offered to a limited number of students each year.

Benefits include:

• Tuition and housing in Fields Hall.
• Eagle Weekly 10 Meal Plan and $500 per semester for books at the University Bookstore .
• Participation in the Honors Program, access to Honors HQ and residence in the Honors Learning Community in Fields Hall.

Scholarship Programs

Wake Forest’s Office of Undergraduate Admissions offers merit scholarships to fewer than 3% of first-year applicants.

Most scholarships (including the full-cost of attendance Signature Scholarships) do not require a scholarship application, but only a completed admission application by November 15.  Finalists for scholarships that require comprehensive interviews or auditions are notified by April.

Merit scholarship programs recognize extraordinary achievement, leadership, and talent. Recipients since 1986 have subsequently earned international and national honors including thirteen Rhodes Scholarships, three Marshall Scholarships, twelve Truman Scholarships, over ninety Fulbright Scholars, and other honors including Gates, Goldwater, Beinecke, and Luce. The  Wake Forest Scholars Office provides profiles of selected previous merit scholarship recipients.

Most merit-based scholarships require recipients to maintain full-time enrollment status and on-campus housing.

Some merit-based scholarships also require financial need. A family can estimate financial need by using the  Net Price Calculator .

Applicants who believe they might qualify for need-based aid should  apply  by January 1. Most scholarships at Wake Forest consider financial need as a recipient selection criterion. Separate applications are not required, as recipients are selected based on data from the admission applications and the FAFSA ® and CSS Profile ®  applications.

The Scholarships Available to All Students section below describes need-based scholarships that have been endowed by generous donors to assist students in attending Wake Forest. A separate application is required only if specified in the scholarship description. Otherwise for almost all scholarships, careful internal procedures identify and select recipients so that separate applications are not required. Because scholarship recipients generally renew through four academic years, many scholarships are not available each year to designate a new recipient.

Merit Scholarship Program Descriptions

Merit Scholarships for first-year applicants include the Signature Scholarships (full-cost of attendance), other scholarships that require an additional application or materials, and additional scholarships that do not require any additional application or materials. First-year applicants are also automatically considered for scholarships that are available to all students.

Signature scholarships

Scholarships requiring an additional application or materials, additional renewable scholarships offered to first-year applicants, scholarships available to all students, guy t. carswell scholarship.

Begun in 1968, Guy T. Carswell Scholarships are awarded to students with outstanding qualities of academic promise, leadership, and talent. Successful applicants have pursued the most challenging curriculum available to them and have achieved grade point averages and standardized test scores (if submitted) that place them in the top percentage in comparison to their peers. Further, Carswell Scholars have typically been leaders in a variety of extracurricular pursuits and won recognition for their interests at the regional, state, or national level.

Carswell Scholarships provide up to five scholarships to cover the annual cost of tuition, room and board, plus $3,400 for personal expenses. Carswell Scholars are encouraged to apply for up to $5,000 for a research, study, or travel project during each of the three summers between the first and senior years.

Finalists are invited to campus for interviews and are notified by the end of March.

Joseph G. Gordon Scholarship

Wake Forest awards Joseph G. Gordon scholarships to students who show exceptional promise and achievement and who are members of constituencies traditionally underrepresented at Wake Forest.

Gordon Scholarships have been awarded since 1986, and up to five Gordon Scholars are chosen annually. Each Gordon Scholarship covers the annual cost of tuition, room, and board, plus $3,400 for personal expenses. Gordon Scholars are encouraged to apply for up to $5,000 for a research, study, or travel project during each of the three summers between the first and senior years.

Graylyn Scholarship

Begun in 1990, the Graylyn Scholarship is offered to one student each year and recognizes leadership and academic excellence, with funding provided by and in recognition of the Graylyn International Conference Center of Wake Forest University.

Successful applicants have pursued the most challenging curriculum available to them and have achieved grade point averages and standardized test scores (if submitted) that place them in the top percentage in comparison to their peers. Further, Graylyn Scholars have typically been leaders in a variety of extracurricular pursuits and won recognition for their interests at the regional, state, or national level.

The Graylyn Scholarship covers the annual cost of tuition, room and board, plus $3,400 for personal expenses. Graylyn Scholars are encouraged to apply for up to $5,000 for a research, study, or travel project during each of the three summers between the first and senior years.

Leadership and Character Scholarship

We are looking for the best and brightest students who have demonstrated exceptional moral leadership, commitment and purpose. We want students who have overcome great odds, worked hard to accomplish important goals and demonstrated the ability to work on behalf of others. We seek to attract students who have shown virtues such as honesty, diligence, curiosity, generosity, humility and gratitude. In short, we want exceptional students whose lives manifest great character and who seek out a collegiate experience in which leadership and character development will be central.

Many colleges and universities offer full scholarships based on academic achievement, perfect test scores, math and science awards, or accolades in music, art and theatre. Wake Forest proposes to honor another form of excellence: character.

Each incoming class will include a small, selective cohort of top students who will be awarded a full scholarship, based on merit, toward their educational costs. These scholars will participate in leadership and character programming designed specifically for them, and they will be offered experiential learning opportunities to practice leadership and character in service to our campus and within the greater community.

To be eligible for the Leadership and Character Scholarship, students must apply for, and qualify for, need-based financial aid in their first year.

Submit your undergraduate admissions application by December 1 to be considered for this scholarship.

Nancy Susan Reynolds Scholarship

Nancy Susan Reynolds Scholars must be not only excellent students and promising scholars, but also creative leaders who are able to influence others in directions likely to benefit society. They will have achieved unusual distinction in the classroom and beyond.  Successful applicants have pursued the most challenging curriculum available to them and have achieved grade point averages and standardized test scores (if submitted) that place them in the top percentage in comparison to their peers. Further, Reynolds Scholars have typically been leaders in a variety of extracurricular pursuits and won recognition for their interests at the regional, state, or national level.

Reynolds Scholarships have been awarded since 1982, and up to five Reynolds Scholars are chosen annually. Each Reynolds Scholarship covers the annual cost of tuition, room, and board, plus $3,400 for personal expenses. Reynolds Scholars are encouraged to apply for up to $5,000 for a research, study, or travel project during each of the three summers between the first and senior years.

Stamps Scholarship

Stamps Scholars must exemplify leadership, perseverance, scholarship, service, and innovation. They will have achieved unusual distinction in the classroom and beyond. Successful applicants have pursued the most challenging curriculum available to them and have achieved grade point averages and standardized test scores (if submitted) that place them in the top percentage in comparison to their peers. Further, Stamps Scholars have typically been leaders in a variety of extracurricular pursuits and won recognition for their interests at the regional, state, or national level.

The Stamps Scholarship is awarded to about fifteen entering first-year students who demonstrate outstanding academic achievement, a high degree of intellectual curiosity and scholarship, exceptional promise in leadership, service and social responsibility, perseverance, character, integrity, and innovation.  Made possible through benefactor E. Roe Stamps IV and his late wife Penny, and through matching funds from Wake Forest University benefactor Mr. Porter B. Byrum, this scholarship annually covers the cost of tuition, fees, room, and board, and includes a $3,400 allowance for books and personal expenses. Scholars may receive up to $15,000 total over their four undergraduate years  for approved travel or study projects. Wake Forest Stamps Scholars join a larger Stamps network of approximately 1,000 current undergraduate scholars around the world.

Army ROTC Scholarships

These scholarships are based on academic and extracurricular achievement as well as leadership potential. The four-year scholarships are awarded after national high school competition. The three- and two-year scholarships are awarded after national college and university competition.

Lelia and David Farr Scholarship (in Entrepreneurship)

Wake Forest University offers students who know that they have an interest in entrepreneurship the opportunity to participate in the Program in Innovation, Creativity, and Entrepreneurship early in their college experience. The Lelia and David Farr Scholarship is awarded every four years to a student who shows outstanding potential in entrepreneurship. This scholarship carries a value of $5,000 per year and will next be available to a first-year student entering in the fall of 2026.

This scholarship is funded through the generosity of the Lelia and David Farr Family through the endowment for a Faculty Chair in Innovation, Creativity, and Entrepreneurship.

Presidential Scholarship for Distinguished Achievement

Twenty renewable scholarships of $16,000 each are awarded annually to students admitted to Wake Forest who possess exceptional talents in art, dance, debate, music, and theatre. Though Presidential Scholars need not plan to pursue a major in the area of their talent, they are expected to participate actively in that activity on campus. Interested students must be prepared to present evidence of outstanding talent and are asked by the Presidential Scholarship Committee for documentation of that talent (such as art portfolios, debate records, taped performances, etc.) and recommendations.

The program, begun in 1987, further diversifies the interests and abilities of a campus and student body already rich in both. Presidential Scholars with interest in dance, music, and/or theatre are given preference for an internship with the Secrest Artists Series.

Preference will be given to applicants who apply by November 15. Applications received past November 15 will be considered as talent areas allow. Finalists will be contacted by the beginning of March. Winners are notified in late March.

The Presidential Scholarship Application is available through the student portal.

Wake Forest will continue to award scholarships outside the Presidential Scholarship program to students with special talents in community service, entrepreneurship, leadership, and writing for publication, though no form beyond the Admission application is required for consideration in these areas. Some of these scholarships include the following awards:

• The Hunter Family Scholarship for Community Service and the Louis Patton Hearn Scholarship for Human Service may be awarded to students with strong commitments to community service.
• The Russell Brantley Scholarship for Writing will be awarded to a student with exceptional talent in writing.

Randall D. Ledford Scholarship (in Physics)

William Louis Poteat Scholarship

Begun in 1982, the William Louis Poteat Scholarship program honors one of the university’s most prominent historical figures. William Louis Poteat, a devout Baptist, was a professor of biology, president of the college from 1905-1927, and a widely recognized champion of the freedom of inquiry. These scholarships strengthen Wake Forest’s traditional relationship with its Baptist heritage and the state of North Carolina.

The William Louis Poteat Scholarship is awarded to up to twenty entering needy and worthy first-year students who are active members of a North Carolina Baptist church. The award is based upon excellent academic achievement, promise of leadership, and involvement in one’s church, and recipients must show promise of making a significant contribution to church and society.

The Poteat Scholarship is a competitive need-based scholarship. Applicants should complete both the CSS Profile ® and the FAFSA ® by January 1, so that need may be determined before the selection process is complete.

The 1834 Scholarship assists students with exceptional academic achievement and financial need by reducing loan expectations.

Abernethy-Sowers Fund for Wake Forest Scholars

The  Abernethy-Sowers Fund for Wake Forest Scholars  assists students with financial need by reducing loan expectations, with preference first to residents of Catawba County, NC, and second to residents of surrounding counties.

Air Force Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (AFROTC) Scholarships

The  Air Force Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (AFROTC) Scholarships  are awarded through an education services agreement with NCA&T State University. Interested students should contact the Air Force ROTC Detachment at NCA&T State University.

Andrew B. McMerty Fund for Wake Forest Scholars

The Andrew B. McMerty Fund for Wake Forest Scholars assists students with financial need who are US citizens or permanent residents, by reducing loan expectations.

Anne & John Barry Family Fund for Wake Forest Scholars

The Anne & John Barry Family Fund for Wake Forest Scholars assists students with financial need by reducing loan expectations.

Armstrong–Hartman Scholarship Fund

The  Armstrong–Hartman Scholarship Fund  assists US citizens or permanent residents, with preference to students with academic and special talents, from middle-class families, who have demonstrated a passionate desire to attend Wake Forest.

Armstrong Family Fund for Wake Forest Scholars

The  Armstrong Family Fund for Wake Forest Scholars  assists students with financial need by reducing loan expectations, with preference to residents of FL, GA, AR, and PA.

Army Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (AROTC) Scholarships

The  Army Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (AROTC) Scholarships  are awarded for academic and personal achievement and pay an amount determined by the U.S. Army for tuition; a flat rate for texts, equipment, and supplies; and a subsistence allowance. Aubrey & Andra Martin–Hartman Scholarship Fund

The Aubrey & Andra Martin–Hartman Scholarship Fund assists U.S. citizens or permanent residents, with preference to students with academic and special talents, from middle-class families, who have demonstrated a passionate desire to attend Wake Forest.

Since 2005, Wake Forest has awarded the First Citizens South Carolina Scholarship. The Heritage Scholarships are awarded to students with special gifts in the liberal arts and sciences who have demonstrated their academic potential, critical curiosity, and passion for learning. The Heritage Scholarship was established in 2001 by an anonymous donor to encourage students with significant need, who have grown up in small towns, to consider attending Wake Forest. These scholarships are awarded to students with a commitment to sharing their special gifts through service, in the spirit of the University’s motto, Pro Humanitate .

Leroy and Teresa Robinson Scholarship

The Leroy and Teresa Robinson Scholarship Fund at Wake Forest provides scholarships to students from the high schools in Montgomery County, North Carolina. Preference is given to graduates of East Montgomery High School, but applications are encouraged from graduates of all schools in the county.

The awards are based on the applicant’s academic achievement, diligence, integrity, character and leadership and range from $2,000 up to full tuition. Demonstrated financial need is taken into account but is not required to win a Robinson Scholarship. However, the special aim of the program is to encourage needy students to apply, since the generous funding of this program is geared especially to students who otherwise could not afford a Wake Forest education.

The program seeks especially to identify the most capable and needy students in Montgomery County, and provide them the opportunity to choose Wake Forest.

Interested students should complete the CSS Profile ® by January 1.

Orton Merit Fund for Entrepreneurship

The Orton Merit Fund for Entrepreneurship provides scholarships to students in recognition of expected or ongoing leadership in the undergraduate programs offered through the Center for Innovation, Creativity and Entrepreneurship. Otis William Deese Presidential Scholarship

The Otis William Deese Presidential Scholarship is awarded to students with financial need as a supplement to the Presidential Scholarships for Distinguished Achievement.

Page W. Acree Humanities in Science Scholarship

The Page W. Acree Humanities in Science Scholarship assists students majoring in chemistry, physics, biology, mathematics, or computer science, who have career objectives in medicine or science-related fields that require human service, and who wish to take unrequired academic work in the humanities. A separate application to the dean of the College is required.

Parrella Family Scholarship

The Parrella Family Scholarship assists students with financial need, with preference to students with a career interest in a health profession, and with preference first to students from the Bronx or nearby areas, second to students from New Jersey, third to students from states contiguous to New Jersey, and fourth to students from other Middle Atlantic States.

Patricia H. & James J. Marino Scholarship

The Patricia H. & James J. Marino Scholarship assists a student with financial need, who is a participant in the Magnolia Scholars Program and who has exceptional leadership and character, a deep personal commitment to moral values, and a clear commitment to serving the broader community.

Paul Clark Brown Jr. Memorial Scholarship

The Paul Clark Brown Jr. Memorial Scholarship assists a student with financial need studying at the Worrell House.

Perkins–Prothro Foundation Scholarship

The Perkins–Prothro Foundation Scholarship assists Texas residents with financial need.

Perricone Casa Artom Scholarship

The Perricone Casa Artom Scholarship, initiated by members of the fall 1974 Venice class and others, assists students in the Wake Forest program in Venice.

Peter Brunette Film Studies Scholarship

The Peter Brunette Film Studies Scholarship assists juniors or seniors with financial need minoring in film studies or majoring in English.

Peter Stathis Endowed Accountancy Scholarship

The Peter Stathis Endowed Accountancy Scholarship is offered to juniors studying accountancy. Application is made through the School of Business.

Phillip W. Wilson/Peat Marwick Memorial Scholarship

The Phillip W. Wilson/Peat Marwick Memorial Scholarship assists a senior accountancy major with demonstrated leadership skills, outstanding interpersonal skills, and a strong commitment to the community and the accountancy profession. The recipient must also be in the top fifth of his or her class based on a grade point average within the School of Business. Application is made through the School of Business.

Porter B. Byrum Scholarship

The Porter B. Byrum Scholarship assists students with financial need.

Professor Robert Lovett Scholarship

The Professor Robert Lovett Scholarship assists students with demonstrated academic promise and financial need, with preference first to students from Ashe County, NC, and second to students from contiguous NC, TN, and VA counties or graduates of Galax High School in Galax, VA.

Purviance–Eubank Scholarship

The Purviance–Eubank Scholarship assists students with financial need, with preference to students who intend to declare an undergraduate major in the School of Business.

R. Frank Nanney Scholarship

The R. Frank Nanney Scholarship gives preference first to students from Rutherford County, NC, and second to other North Carolinians.

The R. Stanley Vaughan/PricewaterhouseCoopers Scholarship assists accountancy majors and students enrolled in the master’s program in accountancy, with preference to fourth-year students. Application is made through the School of Business.

Ralph Judson Sykes Scholarship

The Ralph Judson Sykes Scholarship assists North Carolinians based on financial need, moral character, and Christian fellowship.

Ralph L. Foust Scholarship

The Ralph L. Foust Scholarship assists deserving students with financial need.

Ray L. Evans Biology Scholarship

The Ray L. Evans Biology Scholarship assists NC residents with financial need majoring in biology.

Reifler Family Scholarship

The Reifler Family Scholarship assists students with financial need with artistic ability, with preference first to students who have declared or intend to declare a major in studio art and second to students who have declared or intend to declare a minor in studio art.

Reinsch/Pierce Family Scholarship

The Reinsch/Pierce Family Scholarship gives preference to students from northern Virginia. Financial need may be considered but is not a required or controlling factor.

Robert P. and Dorothy Caldwell Scholarship

The University offers both merit-based and need-based assistance through the Robert P. and Dorothy Caldwell Scholarship Fund, created in 1988 to honor the Caldwell family of Gastonia, North Carolina. Up to three scholarships are awarded annually. In the awarding of a portion of these funds, the Scholarship Committee gives preference to students from Gaston and Catawba (N.C.) Counties who need assistance in order to attend Wake Forest. Students completing the admissions application will be considered for the Caldwell awards, with values up to partial tuition.

Revelle Family Scholarship

The Revelle Family Scholarship assists students with financial need from Northampton and Hertford counties, with second preference to students from other areas of northeastern North Carolina.

Reynolds North Carolina Scholarship

The Reynolds North Carolina Scholarship , established by the Z. Smith Reynolds Foundation, assists North Carolinians with financial need who are first generation college students.

Rhoda C. & Davin E. Juckett Scholarship

The Rhoda C. & Davin E. Juckett Scholarship assists students with financial need with a GPA of at least 2.8.

Richard & Carolyn Riley Scholarship

The Richard & Carolyn Riley Scholarship assists an entrepreneurship minor who shows outstanding potential. Application is made through the Center for Innovation, Creativity, and Entrepreneurship.

Richard “Dick” T. Clay Scholarship

The Richard “Dick” T. Clay Scholarship assists students in the School of Business who are participating in learning experiences related to for-profit business or entrepreneurship and who show strong moral character and concern for business ethics. Application is made through the School of Business.

Richard N. Boe–Eubank Scholarship

The Richard N. Boe–Eubank Scholarship assists students with financial need, with preference to students historically underrepresented at Wake Forest, students who have been raised by a divorced or widowed single parent, and students from the southeast region of the US.

The Robert A. & Margaret Pope McIntyre Scholarship gives preference to students from Robeson County, NC.

The Robert A. Eubank Scholarship assists needy students who are the first generation of their families to attend college and who embody the spirit and characteristics of Robert A. Eubank.

The Steve & Kent Butler Family Fund assists students with financial need, with preference first to residents of Columbus, GA and second to residents of GA.

Study Abroad Scholarship

The Study Abroad Scholarship assists students with a minimum 3.0 grade point average through application with the Center for Global Programs and Studies.

Strum Family Scholarship

The Strum Family Scholarship assists students with financial need, with preference first to residents of Person County, NC, and second to residents of the southern region of CA.

Summer Grant Program

An unusual and important feature of the Nancy Susan Reynolds, Guy T. Carswell, Graylyn, and Joseph G. Gordon scholarships is the summer grant program that supports research, study, and travel. These scholars have three summers in which to undertake projects funded at up to $5,000 per year. Scholars consult with faculty, the scholarship officers, and others to plan a project with an educational purpose. Approximately twenty such project grants are awarded annually to scholarship students. Recent summer projects include:

• Roma culture in Eastern Europe
• Research on Sorbian minority in Germany
• Classes and research in Cuba
• Internships with White House, US AID, and Congressional offices
• Research at Harvard School of Public Health

In addition to these opportunities for summer funding, any Wake Forest University student may apply for summer funding through the Wake Forest Undergraduate Fellowship and Richter Scholarship programs.

The Teresa Mae Arnold Scholarship is awarded based on ability and need.

Tessien–Dupree Endowed Scholarship

The Tessien–Dupree Endowed Scholarship assists students in the School of Business, with preference to juniors with financial need majoring in accountancy. Application is made through the School of Business.

Thane Edward McDonald & Marie Dayton McDonald Memorial Scholarship

The Thane Edward McDonald & Marie Dayton McDonald Memorial Scholarship assists a music student. Application is made through the Department of Music.

Theodore & Freda Fisher Endowed Scholarship

The Theodore & Freda Fisher Endowed Scholarship assists students with financial need and with grades in the C- to B- range, with preference to NC residents.

Theros Family Business Scholarship

The Theros Family Business Scholarship assists students in the School of Business, with preference to students who demonstrate excellent leadership capacity and express an interest in entrepreneurship. Application is made through the School of Business.

Thomas C. Taylor Scholarship Fund for International Studies

The Thomas C. Taylor Scholarship Fund for International Studies assists accountancy majors studying outside the U.S., or studying international studies within the U.S., based on integrity, compassion, cooperativeness, and a record of academic achievement. Application is made through the School of Business.

Thomas D. & Betty H. Long Scholarship

The Thomas D. & Betty H. Long Scholarship assists students with financial need, with preference to those from Person County, NC, and second to other North Carolinians.

Thomas E. & Ruth Mullen Scholarship

The Thomas E. & Ruth Mullen Scholarship , valued at $1,500 annually, is awarded through the Upperclass Carswell Scholarship Program to outstanding undergraduates with a minimum of one year of academic work at the University. A separate application is due October 15.

The W.D. & Alberta Holleman Memorial Scholarship assists students based on academic ability, financial need, leadership, and Christian commitment, with preference first to students from the Braggtown Baptist Church of Durham, NC, and second to students from Durham County, NC.

W.D. Sanders Scholarship

The W.D. Sanders Scholarship is awarded for language study in Germany or Austria, to sophomores, juniors, or seniors who have completed German 153 or above. The scholarship is designated in order of priority, for summer language study, semester or year programs with the Institute of European Studies (IES), or junior year abroad programs with other institutions. Application is made through the Department of German and Russian.

W.H. & Callie Anne Coughlin Clark Scholarship

The W.H. & Callie Anne Coughlin Clark Scholarship gives preference to students with financial need.

Wahrhaftig Scholarship

The Wahrhaftig Scholarship assists undergraduate students who are in the Pre-Wall Street Career Track.

Walter Low Tatum Scholarship in Mathematics

The Walter Low Tatum Scholarship in Mathematics provides in alternate years a renewable merit scholarship. The stipends of $500 each for the first two years are replaced by $5,000 awards in each of the last two years, provided that the recipient fulfills the expectation to enroll in and maintain a major in mathematics.

Ware Family Scholarship

The Ware Family Scholarship assists students with financial need with preference to students with a parent who is serving or has served on active military duty for a period longer than six months.

Watkins–Richardson Scholarship

The Watkins–Richardson Scholarship assists students from the southeastern U.S. with academic ability and leadership potential. Awards are renewable provided the recipient ranks in the top third of his or her class and continues to display leadership potential.

Weir–Dupree Family Scholarship

The Weir–Dupree Family Scholarship assists students in the School of Business who help achieve and sustain the diversity of the student body, with preference first to students who are documented members of federally-recognized Indian tribes, second to residents of AL, and third to residents of Washington, DC. Annual Phon-a-thon/Mail-a-thon Thursday, January 9, 2025 (Tentative)

LGSA's largest fundraiser of the year will be held on Thursday, January 9, 2025.  Residents of the LG School District can expect a phone call, letter and/or post card on 1/12 and the days that follow.  We surpassed our expectation for last year's drive with over $20,000 in contributions received. Help us break the record in 2025!

Special thanks to Iggy Rovetto at Pizza Jerks for generously supporting LGSA and feeding our Phonathon volunteers for so many years.  Pizza Jerks pizzas remain the pizza of choice by the students of Lake George and the volunteers that make the calls each year.

                                          Helping Lake George High School Students Pursue a Higher Education

LGSA was chartered in 1952 by a dedicated group of local citizens. The Association is managed by a Board of Directors representative of the Lake George community. Since 1953, over 1,162 students have received scholarships totaling nearly $1,500,000.

LGSA Mission Statement: To raise funds that will provide for scholarships to graduates of Lake George High School pursuing a higher education. The Board of Directors selects recipients each year based on merit, financial need and community service.
