With unrivaled arena production quality  Jurassic World  comes to life against a backdrop of captivating scenery where dinosaurs from the iconic franchise including fan-favorite Velociraptor Blue and a Tyrannosaurus Rex more than 40 feet in length take center stage. The production features more than 24 film-accurate life-sized dinosaurs with scale speed and ferocity operated by animatronics and performers.  Jurassic World ’s unmistakable score combined with projection and practical scenery transforms the arena into the dense jungles of Isla Nublar where real Gyrospheres roll through the valley and scientists work to unravel a corrupt plan and save a new dinosaur from a terrible fate. With pulse-pounding stunts and an original authentic storyline  Jurassic World Live Tour  is guaranteed to make memories that will last another 65 million years. 

Guests will be able to start the adventure early with a special  Pre-show Experience  included with all ticket purchases. By arriving one hour before showtime audience members can see their favorite  Jurassic World  dinosaurs and vehicles up close and personal including fun photo opps with Triceratops Stegosaurus Baby Bumpy and the iconic  Jurassic World  Jeep and Gyrosphere.

The wide range of events at Moda Center means that many types of staging are employed. Sports events use stadium seating designed in bowl fashion, while concerts usually have a stage set up at the north end. In recent years, the ‘Theater of the Clouds’ configuration has become popular for more intimate stage shows. For this, huge curtain backdrops are set up around a space in the middle of the arena. Performers play to an audience seated on the east and west sides.

What to expect at Moda Center concerts

When you go to Moda Center concerts, you’ll find yourself in the Rose Quarter entertainment district. Plenty of parking is available nearby, some of it directly adjacent to the stadium. Locals recommend trying to park as low down in a parking garage as you can, so you don’t have to wait a long time in line to get out. See our Parking page for more detailed advice.

Moda Center is a popular venue for all types of events, from basketball to music concerts. The management team and staff are highly commended by visitors and the facilities are clean. The food concessions at Moda Center are pricey, but offer a good range with some local products like Portland brews. It’s a cashless venue, but conversion facilities are available.

People love the courtside seats, which put you right up close and personal with the players. Higher up seats are also great, and there are large video screens and scoreboards to relay the action. The acoustic system is very advanced, but people with floor tickets say that the hanging panels can sometimes obstruct their view of the stage.

Famous performers at Moda Center

The first ever artists to headline at Moda Center were David Bowie and Nine Inch Nails, back in 1995. Since that memorable opening, a whole host of notable musicians have appeared at Moda Center, including Foo Fighters, Darius Rucker, Sheryl Crow, Elton John, Taylor Swift, Justin Timberlake, Madonna and many more.

Upcoming events for 2023 will see a host of notable performers, including Janet Jackson, Bryan Adams, Sting and Aerosmith. You’ll also have monster trucks, Jurassic World and Portland teams’ games.

Jurassic World Live Tour is coming to Moody Center August 18-20, 2023 with 6 opportunities to see the action-packed, live arena show!

Your trip to Isla Nublar takes a terrifying, unexpected turn when Indominus rex escapes and causes chaos in the park! Join forces with a team of scientists to unravel a corrupt plan and save Jeanie, a Troodon dinosaur, from a terrible fate. Along the way, experience some of Jurassic World’s most iconic dinosaurs including Blue the Raptor, Stegosaurus, Triceratops and the mighty Tyrannosaurus rex!

The preshow experience is included with your ticket and starts one (1) hour before showtime.
