MPTC appeals for patience amid Easytrip app problems: We’re fixing it

MPTC appeals for patience amid Easytrip app problems: We're fixing it

Metro Pacific’s NLEX tollroad PHOTO FROM MPIC.COM.PH

MANILA, Philippines — The Metro Pacific Tollways Corp. (MPTC) has appealed for the public’s patience as glitches continue to hound the mobile application for its Easytrip RFID.

In an interview with INQUIRER.net on Friday, MPTC chief communications officer Romulo Quimbo said they are working to improve the Easytrip app even as he admitted that it encountered problems due to “a tsunami of new RFID customers.”

Easytrip users turn to the app to monitor their RFID activities and load balance. Easytrip is used in MPTC-operated tollways like the management of the North Luzon Expressway (NLEx) and the Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway (SCTEx).

The Department of Transportation (DOTr) has ordered cashless tollways transactions through RFID to halt human-to-human interactions at tollbooths and avert possible coronavirus transmissions.

“We recognize that, but we are improving naman the capability of the servers. We have a tsunami of new RFID customers, and we are very concerned that they are not able to get their information quickly,” Quimbo said in a phone interview.

“But we are doing everything to upgrade the system, we are catching up so, in the meantime, we think there’s some adjustments in our customers, kung pwede i-understand muna the situation.  But we are doing everything to upgrade the system, pati ‘yong real time as possible balance checking, very important,” he added.

Easytrip users reported difficulties in accessing the app to check load balance as well as verify registration of their Easytrip account number.

Checking Easytrip accounts is important especially for users who may have encountered discrepancies in toll charges — although Quimbo said earlier that these issues are merely due to system lag and will be corrected.

For those experiencing problems in checking their account, MPTC suggests contacting the Easytrip hotline (02) 8555-7575 and other methods found on the package of the Easytrip card.

“So the best way is still to check your balance later on in the app. We have some glitches in the app lately but we’re already up and about, or to call kung meron pang balance,” Quimbo said.

“But we advise, don’t react right away if you see the remaining balance at the toll fee in Bocaue, don’t be shocked bakit ang laki ng bawas.  Ano lang ‘yon, na-delay lang ‘yong entry information mo,” he added.

For reloading, Quimbo said motorists can opt to reload at the toll plazas although he warned of long lines due to the rush to acquire RFID stickers.

“‘Yong reloading stations natin, there are many reloading options, if the customers can carefully check, may package kasi sa RFID eh […] nando’n naman ‘yong information how to load. But there’s also a downside to the reloading stations […] lahat na itong reloading stations na ito they have their own crediting time period, hindi uniform,” he explained.

“Ang pinakamabilis na reloading talaga, real-time doon talaga sa aming customer service center, but it’s a bit crowded today kasi panic time tayo, pero ’yong atin, ‘yon ‘yong real-time,” he added.

Frequently Asked Questions

Program and eligibility.

DriveEasy is GEICO's safe-driving program that puts you in control of your rate by rewarding you with savings based on your driving behavior. Using the sensors in your phone, the GEICO Mobile app automatically logs your driving behaviors—like how hard you brake, how far you drive, and how often you use your phone—and calculates a safe driving score.

GEICO then factors your score into your insurance rate. At each renewal, your rate will automatically adjust based on the driving score of you and any other drivers on your policy. Most customers will be able to save based on their safe driving habits. Riskier drivers may see a higher rate depending on the state they live in.

The safer you drive, the better you score. The better you score, the more you could save.

No, DriveEasy does not stop you from using your phone whether you're driving or not.

DriveEasy's data and battery usage can vary but is generally low. GEICO Mobile saves data usage and battery life by staying inactive when you're not driving. It also doesn't begin logging driving data until after the first quarter mile of a trip. A typical driver will use 60 to 70 MB of data per month for DriveEasy. Leaving Wi-Fi on helps the app use less mobile data and can improve location accuracy.

No, you do not need to open the GEICO Mobile app each time you drive. After you complete DriveEasy setup, stay logged in to the app and your driving data will be automatically recorded when you drive.

To participate in DriveEasy, all you need is an iPhone or Android phone that has a data plan and is compatible with the GEICO Mobile app. Prepaid iPhone and Android phones that can receive short-code text messages are eligible. Just make sure your phone's operating system is up to date:

  • iPhones running iOS 10 or higher
  • Android phones running Android 6.0 or higher

All enrolled drivers on a policy need to participate. Driver enrollment requirements differ by state and program details and are presented during your quote.

DriveEasy is currently offered in most states:

  • Connecticut
  • District of Columbia
  • Massachusetts
  • Mississippi
  • North Carolina
  • Pennsylvania
  • South Carolina
  • West Virginia

Driver enrollment requirements differ by state and program details. Drivers are considered ineligible for DriveEasy if:

  • The driver doesn't have an active status on the policy
  • The driver doesn't have an active U.S driver's license
  • The driver is enrolled and participating in DriveEasy on another GEICO policy

To check if you're eligible to re-enroll in DriveEasy, contact us through chat or over the phone.

There are a few reasons that you are not receiving text messages from us.

Your phone settings may block text messages from GEICO. Enable text messages from GEICO by reinstalling the app:

  • Uninstall GEICO Mobile from your phone
  • Restart your phone
  • Download and reinstall GEICO Mobile
  • Agree to receive texts from GEICO when asked
  • Make sure any Focus (iPhone) or Do Not Disturb (Android) modes are OFF

Your phone settings may block text messages from short codes. Short codes are special telephone numbers (usually five to six digits long) that are used for text messaging services. Enable text messages from short codes in your phone's settings:

Android users can enable Premium SMS access

  • Open Settings
  • Tap Special app access
  • Tap Premium SMS access
  • Tap the messaging application you use and select Always allow
  • Make sure Do Not Disturb mode is OFF

iPhone users can reset iMessage

  • Tap Messages
  • Toggle iMessage OFF
  • Toggle iMessage back ON
  • Toggle Send as SMS ON
  • Make sure Focus mode is OFF

Your mobile carrier may block text messages from short codes, especially if you have a prepaid phone. Contact your mobile carrier to check if they prevent text messages from short codes. Your mobile carrier must allow text messages from short codes for you to be eligible for DriveEasy.

If you verified you can receive text messages from short codes but you're still having issues, contact us through chat or over the phone.

Depending on your DriveEasy program requirements, unenrolling may result in a premium change.

To disable DriveEasy and unenroll from the program, contact us through chat or over the phone.

Scoring and Trips

To calculate a driving score, DriveEasy looks at your driving behavior data from different categories:

  • Distracted Driving (or Distractions ): how often you actively use your phone while driving, like making handheld calls or interacting with apps
  • Hard Braking (or Braking and Acceleration ): how hard you rapidly decelerate and how fast you quickly accelerate while driving
  • Cornering : how quickly you travel when going around corners
  • Smoothness : how consistent your cruising speeds are and how long you drive at those speeds

You'll receive a rating for how well you perform in each of these categories along with any logged slip-ups. Slip-ups are unsafe behaviors, like texting while driving.

DriveEasy also considers other factors about your trips:

  • Time of Day : how often you travel late at night
  • Distance Driven : how far and long you drive per trip
  • Route Regularity : how consistent your routes are
  • Weather : weather and road conditions during your trips

Based on all these driving behaviors and factors, DriveEasy calculates an overall driving score . This driving score is what impacts your rate— higher scores lead to greater savings . This driving score first applies to your rate 45 days after the start of your policy. Then, your rate will update at each policy renewal based on your most recent driving score as you continue to log your driving behaviors.

Be sure to check the DriveEasy Dashboard in the GEICO Mobile app. There you'll be able to track your scores, view your trips, and get driving tips to improve your score and save even more.

Distracted driving is when you actively use your phone while driving, like making handheld calls or interacting with apps. This also includes when a passenger uses your phone, because the app can't see who's using the phone. These things are only counted as distracted driving when traveling over 6 mph.

If you use Bluetooth for hands-free calls, GPS for directions, or stream music, it's not considered distracted driving as long as you're not also interacting with the phone.

DriveEasy uses your phone's sensors to identify if you're a driver, a passenger, or even if you're on a bus or train. We list all your trips in the app, but your driving score only uses trips where your role is “Driver.” Trips where you were a passenger or something else, like on a train, are not included in your driving score.

If DriveEasy logged the wrong role for a trip, you can update your driving role under the Trips section in the app.

When you're a driver and a passenger uses your phone, the app may count it as distracted driving. This is because the app can't see who's using the phone. If this happens, update your driving role to “Passenger” after the trip shows up in the app. This will keep it from impacting your driving score.

Driving scores can take 24-48 hours to update after you finish a trip. Keep driving and check back later in the app for updated trip details and your score.

DriveEasy starts logging your trip after the first ¼ mile to make sure it's a valid trip, so it's common for the app to skip the start of a trip. Other trips that are logged incompletely or not at all include:

  • Short trips that total less than 1 mile
  • Trips with low phone battery
  • Trips when there is poor or no cell reception

If DriveEasy is missing more than the first ¼ mile or misses an entire valid trip, you'll want to check a few things to make sure the app is set up properly:

  • Check that GEICO Mobile is installed and up to date
  • Check that you're logged in to the app
  • Check the app's DriveEasy Permissions Settings and enable any disabled permissions

Still having issues? Contact us through chat or over the phone.

No, the app can't log work trips separate from personal trips. We log all trips regardless of why you're driving or which vehicle you're using. This is to provide you with the most accurate driving score and feedback.

GEICO only collects driving-related data from your phone's GPS, Bluetooth, and other sensors. This data includes where, when, and how long you drive, and driving behaviors like using your phone while driving. We only collect this data when a trip is taking place. We gather road conditions and weather data from our partners.

Your driving data is encrypted and stored in one of our secure data centers in the United States. We restrict access to your encrypted data to a limited number of GEICO associates. We may also utilize driving data to help speed up the claims process for customers.

What we don't do:

  • Capture or report speeding violations
  • Share or sell your driving info to third parties
  • Access, read, listen, or record any messages or phone calls or see your contacts

HOW TO CHECK RFID BALANCE of EASYTRIP & AUTOSWEEP (Balance Inquiry)

HOW TO CHECK RFID BALANCE of EASYTRIP & AUTOSWEEP (Balance Inquiry)

By continuing to read this article, you agree to double check with the authorities or other concerned entities for the latest updates.

So you finally have an RFID sticker. Congratulations! You now have your RFID account(s), the actual sticker tag, and a physical card. But is your load enough? Whether you are subscribed to one or both RFID service providers — AutoSweep and EasyTrip — you must keep watch of the maintaining balance to avoid delays and inconvenience.

How to check your RFID account balance? For both AutoSweep and EasyTrip subscribers, here’s an overview of the different ways to check your balance:

  • AutoSweep: toll gates, official website, mobile app (Android), and SMS
  • EasyTrip: toll gates, official website, and mobile app

When you use AutoSweep or EasyTrip at the toll gates, the RFID’s balance is displayed on the monitor or LED screen, along with the cost of the toll fee. But you can’t always rely on this method of checking balance because there’s a chance that you will forget about it or that you already have an insufficient amount.

It’s always a great idea to check your balance prior to your trip. You can do so via mobile app, website, and SMS. These will prompt you to reload ahead of time if you are about to go below the maintaining balance. In this post, we’ll tackle just how to do all these.

If you don’t have an RFID sticker yet, you need to register for one first. READ: HOW TO APPLY FOR RFID! ✅

WHAT'S COVERED IN THIS GUIDE?

How to Check AUTOSWEEP Balance

AutoSweep covers these expressways: Skyway, SLEX, NAIAX, STAR Tollway, MCX, and TPLEX. As stated in the terms and conditions, here’s the maintaining balance for AutoSweep subscribers per vehicle class:

  • Class 1: P100
  • Class 2: P200
  • Class 3: P300

Via Official Website

As of 09-2021, this method still works.

After you subscribe to AutoSweep, you need to register your account on the official website ( www.autosweeprfid.com ) to avail of the services such as balance inquiry and statement of account summary requests.

  • To register, just provide these details: account number, plate number or card number, email address, and full name. Just look for the BALANCE INQUIRY option on the main menu and choose CUSTOMER WEB PORTAL. You will see these two options: REGISTER ACCOUNT and SIGN-IN ACCOUNT.
  • Log in to your account. After registering your account, log in to your account. Just provide your registered email address and password. When you are logged in, you will see your account details.
  • Go to ENROLLED ACCOUNTS and click the BALANCE button. Finally, you will see your account balance.

If you want to request your SOA (Statement of Account), just provide the details (month and year) and click the “Request SOA” button.

Via Mobile App

Note: As of 09-2021, this method still works.

This is only applicable for Android mobile phones.

  • Using your mobile phone, go to AutoSweep official website: www.autosweeprfid.com .
  • Look for the green box with the header: “How to Install the Autosweep RFID Balance Inquiry App”. (See image below for reference.) You will see the instructions there and the “DOWNLOAD” button. Download the app.

my easy trip app not working

  • After downloading, launch the app. If you haven’t registered your account on the website yet, you can do it using the mobile app too. Make sure you register first.
  • Log in to your account and tap on the BALANCE button.

Via SMS (Mobile Text)

As of 09-2021, we can’t make this method work. It always returns a “Your mobile number is not registered” error even when we’re using the right number.

To check your RFID balance via SMS, here’s what you need to do:

my easy trip app not working

  • Text “ Autosweep [space] BALINQ [space] Plate Number (Premium subscribers) or Card Number (To-Go subscribers)”. For example: AUTOSWEEP BALINQ ABC123
  • Send to 0917-860-8655 (Globe) or 0918-860-8655 (Smart).

Note: For you to check your account balance via SMS, you need to use the mobile number and the plate number (or card number) registered under your account. Again, ensure that you registered your RFID account(s).

How to Check EASYTRIP Balance

EasyTrip covers these expressways: CAVITEX, CALAX, C5 Link, NLEX, and SCTEX.

To check balance and request statement of account summary, register your EasyTrip account on the official website, easytrip.ph .

  • To register, look for the “SeRF” (Sel-Registration Form) box, then click REGISTER NOW and then supply the necessary details.
  • When you are done registering, log in to your account. To log in, look for the “MYEASYTRIP WEB” box, then click “LOGIN HERE”. Provide your username and password.
  • Click your registered account to check your balance.

But there’s an easier and simpler option. This is actually one option to reload your EasyTrip account and since it also shows your current balance, you can use it to check if you still have enough balance before you travel.

my easy trip app not working

  • Go to your browser and type: easytrip.reload.ninja
  • Type your EasyTrip account number to access it.
  • Tada! You can now view your current balance.

You can proceed with reloading if your balance is running low already.

Good news! Both Android and iOS (Apple) can download the EasyTrip mobile app.

my easy trip app not working

  • Download the app on your phone.
  • Log in to your account. If you haven’t registered yet, please sign up and register your account first. You can log in using your email, your Facebook account, or your Apple ID (for iOS users). Choose the one that suits your preference.
  • After logging in, add your vehicle and supply all the necessary details. Click SAVE.
  • Click your account/vehicle. You can now view your current balance.

Aside from that, you can also see your past transactions, reloads, and adjustments (if there are any).

Note: Ensure that your EasyTrip account(s) are registered to check your balance or to request the SOA summary. Go to the official website of EasyTrip to check your status.

my easy trip app not working

  • Text “ BAL [space] Account Number “. For example: BAL 520000000000
  • Send to 0919-160-1553.

Note: This is available to all network providers and will incur P1.00 per text. For convenience, you can just scan the QR code above.

  • If you have insufficient balance, the barrier will not activate and might cause inconvenience not just to you but also to those behind you. This might even lead to getting issued a traffic citation/violation ticket for obstruction with at least a P1,000 fine.
  • For the cashless transaction adjustment period between December 1 and January 11 (or until further notice), no penalty fee and ticket will be issued for the insufficient balance. But then again, it’s still highly advised to reload before you go below your maintaining balance.
  • It’s best to check your balance hours or days before your trip so you can reload immediately when needed and save yourself from the hassle of technological glitches. Remember that mobile apps and online transactions may fail us sometimes.
  • Based on personal experience, even if you reload through an e-wallet (GCash/PayMaya) or online payment, the transaction won’t reflect real-time or the RFID scanner will fail to read/detect it.
  • If for some reason you failed or forgot to reload before leaving home, the staff manning the toll gate will ask for your RFID card. The amount that you lacked for that transaction will be deducted from the amount of your next reload.

Our current balance as of Nov 19, 2022 is P878. We went to Angeles City on the same day ( we are from Macabebe), and got back home later that day. We used the RFID lane and got surprised with the remaining balance of -P30. Does this RFID cost THIS MUCH? OMG!!!!

Arnel A Floresca

In the query of Autosweep RFID Balance Via SMS (Mobile Text), do not use the plate number of your car!! Use the ATG Card number. Instead of “AUTOSWEEP BALINQ ABC123” use “AUTOSWEEP BALINQ R12345” then send that to either 0917-860-8655 (Globe) or 0918-860-8655 (Smart).

edwin castro

I used my online banking thru bdo to reload my rfid. pls check and give me feedback pls.

Electric Vehicles

 – New Applicants

Why did the LEVTI scheme stop accepting applications if the program ends in Dec 2023?

Introduced in 2018, the tolling scheme has been administrated by Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII) on behalf of Department of Transport. Originally scheduled to close in 2022, LEVTI was extended until December 31st, 2023, and available for the first 50,000 eligible vehicles. With the target on track, new applications will no longer be accepted from 1st November 2023.

If membership goes under 50,000 LEVs, is the scheme open to accepting new applications?

Department of Transport originally scheduled to close in 2022, LEVTI was extended until December 31st, 2023, and available for the first 50,000 eligible vehicles. With the target on track, new applications will no longer be accepted from 1st November. The scheme will not re-open for new applicants.

Why is the scheme not continuing in 2024?

The Department of Transport have advised that government investment for electric vehicles will continue to rebalance towards supporting EV charging infrastructure. This change aligns with similar polices in European nations, where countries including Norway, Germany and France have begun to curb vehicle subsidies and government investment in EVs is moving towards infrastructure.

 – Existing Customers

Why is the scheme stopping, how will this affect me what does it mean to me.

The Department of Transport have advised that the ‘Low Emissions Vehicle Toll Incentive (LEVTI) Scheme’ will conclude on the 31st of December 2023. As an LEVTI customer, you will not receive toll incentives/refunds beyond this date.

How long will the refunds/incentives be applied?

I bought this car, based on the scheme, what do i do now, why are there no incentives for decarbonization, electric cars/what about the climate action plan, if i travel in dec, when will i see my refund.

Your TSP will process your incentives/refunds based on their current processes and timelines for trips that occur up to Dec 31st, 2023. The Department of Transport have advised that the ‘Low Emissions Vehicle Toll Incentive (LEVTI) Scheme’ will conclude on the 31st of December 2023. As an LEVTI customer, you will not receive toll incentives/refunds beyond this date.

Why is this happening during a cost of living crisis?

How do i receive my tag.

Your tag will be posted to you in a sealed anti-static bag with an installation guide and your account information. We advise you to keep your anti-static bag, should you wish to remove your tag, gently slip it off the holder and seal it in the bag to avoid it being read in Car Parks or at barrier Toll Plazas.

What are my account choices?

We have two different account types:

Private Accounts: These are for private individuals and families for their cars or light goods vehicles, (up to 5 vehicles).

Business Accounts: These are for Businesses use a tag or tags on all vehicle types (classes 2 – 8). There is no limit on the number of tags on a business account, from 1 upwards, and there are additional benefits for Business accounts.

What are the costs?

Fees vary from toll roads to car parks. For a detailed list of fees please refer to the pricing page, linked below.

What is a low balance level?

Low balance level is basically the ‘credit level limit’ of your account that triggers an automatic top up so that you do not incur any fines or penalties. You set this level based on your usage. For instance, if your chosen low balance level is €10, every time your account credit hits €10, it will be automatically topped up by the ‘top up’ amount specified by you.

Where do I install my tag?

Fix it to the inside of your windscreen using the adhesive strip provided. For cars and vans, the tag should be mounted on the centre top of the windscreen, behind the rear view mirror, (ensuring you do not obstruct your view)

Tags cannot be read through metal, and some vehicles have moisture controlled windscreens. This means that metal is in your windscreen to prevent condensation building up on it. On most windscreens there is an area of black dots under the rear view mirror. This is the only area that there is no metal. Your tag should be installed on this black dot area. Alternatively, you should check your car manual to ensure your tag is in the optimal position.

For commercial vehicles, the tag should be mounted on the centre bottom of the windscreen. (Ensuring you do not obstruct your view)

Why should I install my tag on the windscreen?

It is important that you install your tag correctly on the windscreen of your vehicle to ensure that it is detected by the electronic system at the toll plazas or car parks. If you wave your tag or don’t install your tag correctly on the windscreen, your tag may not be read at the toll roads or car parks.

What do I do if I have received a STR letter?

If you are a customer of easytrip and have received a STR Letter from Eflow, please  contact us  immediately.

What should I do if I change my vehicle?

You will need to remove your tag and place it in the new vehicle. You can contact us for a new tag holder in order to ensure that your tag is installed correctly on the new windscreen. You will need to update your vehicle details ( new registration, make, model and colour ). You can do this through your online account or contact us. Remember: Incorrect registration numbers may result in penalty notices being issued to you from the road operators.

What should I do if my tag won't work?

Please contact us on 0818 67 67 67 . If you are experiencing any difficulties with your tag.

What should I do if my tag is lost or stolen?

If your tag is lost or stolen please contact us immediately, as you are responsible for all charges on your account up to the time of notification. Once notified, your tag will be suspended. Outside office hours you can mark your tag as lost by logging onto your online account using your account number and password. Please note that there is a charge of €15.25 (VAT. included) for hired tags only, if your tag is lost or stolen.

If your tag is recovered and returned to us in good working order within 21 days, we will refund the full amount (of €15.25) to your account.

If you purchased your tag, there is no lost/stolen tag fee; however, if you need a replacement tag you will have to purchase a new tag for €25.

What class does my vehicle belong to?

Class 1 : Motorcycle Class 2 : Car Class 3 : Bus (< or =25 seats) Class 4: Bus (>25 seats) Class 5 : Goods Vehicles/ Commercial Vehicles/ Vans/ Transits/ LGV Class 6 : Goods Vehicle > 3.5t, 2 Axles Class 7 : Goods Vehicle > 3.5t, 3 Axles Class 8 : Goods Vehicles > 3t > = 4 Axles

Can I cancel my easytrip account?

If you wish to close your account please call us on 0818 67 67 67 .

What should I do when I get to the car park?

Approach the entrance slowly in order to allow your tag to read. If the parking service is enabled on your tag, your tag is correctly installed on the windscreen and your account is in credit, the barrier will lift and you may proceed. There is no need to take a ticket.

It is important that you follow the instructions below:

  • Do not wave your tag by holding it in your hand.
  • On exiting the car park do not proceed past the ticket machine until the barrier has lifted
  • Do not tailgate the vehicle in front

What happens if I take a ticket at the entrance?

If you take a ticket then your easytrip transaction will be automatically cancelled and your account will not be charged. You will have to pay for your parking at the ticket machine before you leave the car park.

Why does my tag beep at the entrance of the car park?

Your tag beeps to indicate that your tag, once activated, can be used to automatically pay car parking charges in that car park. If you have any questions in relation to your tag beeping in the car park please  Contact Us .

Will I see easytrip signage at the car park?

Yes, all car parks that accept easytrip will have signage to indicate that easytrip tags are accepted as payment.

What happens if the barrier does not lift on entering the car park?

In the unlikely event that your easytrip tag does not read at the entrance please check the following:

  • Is your tag correctly installed?
  • Do you have sufficient credit on your account?
  • Have you enabled car parking on your tag?

What happens if the barrier does not lift on exiting the car park?

If the barrier does not lift at the exit but it lifted at the entrance, you will need to press the intercom button to inform the parking host. You will have to quote your tag number which you can find underneath the bar code on your tag. Please do not leave the car park without giving the parking host your tag number.

How do I make my first payment?

Your first payment consists of your top up amount plus the price of each tag (this only applies if you have chosen to purchase your tag). The top up amount is the credit which will be put onto your account. You can pay by credit card, debit card or cheque. Cheques should be made payable to Easytrip Services Ltd.

What should my automatic top up be?

We recommend that you specify a top up amount that realistically equates to your monthly toll/car park usage. Calculate your average monthly usage as follows: Toll/car Park fee x Number of trips per week x Number of weeks per month = Average monthly usage.

How do I choose my low balance level?

Low balance level is basically the ‘credit level’ of your account that triggers an automatic top up so that you do not incur any fines or penalties. You are free to choose this level based on your usage.

For instance, if your chosen low balance level is €10 every time your accounts hits this amount, it will be automatically topped up by the top up amount specified by you.

We would recommend that you should choose an amount that will allow you at least one day’s tolling and/or parking.

How do I keep my account in credit with a prepaid account?

When you open your account you simply set up a direct debit either by bank mandate, credit or debit card. Choose the amount of credit you wish to add to your account. When you reach your low balance level, your account is automatically topped up by the agreed amount from your chosen method.

Puncture Repair

Where do i go to get my puncture fixed.

If you have a puncture in your vehicle please visit any BestDrive . For more location please click here

This membership last for 12 months from the date of purchase and is only valid for use on the vehicle you signed up with. It also covers a 5 point safety check, a pre NCT check for the vehicle.

Vehicles registered must be under 15 years old at the time of registration and must be a car or light goods vehicle of class 2, 3 and 5.

How many Punctures am I covered for in a year?

A fair usage policy limit of 2 repairs for the same tyre on the same vehicle to a maximum of 4 puncture repairs in total in the 12 months of the membership applies. If a tyre is beyond repair, or is unsafe, you will be given the option to purchase a new one.

If you would like to cancel your membership within the 12 month membership, you will be liable for any outstanding amounts for the remainder of the term.

What should I do when I get to the toll plaza?

Follow the signs displaying the etoll symbol and proceed to the barrier. Easytrip tags are accepted in all lanes and on all toll roads in Ireland.

What happens if my tag does not work?

We do not operate the toll plazas, should your tag(s) fail to scan, you may be asked to pay by other means such as cash or credit card by the plaza operator, or they may issue you with an IOU, which is payable directly to them at a later date, it cannot be transferred to your easytrip account.

To minimise the risk of your tag not reading:

  • Approach the toll barrier slowly
  • Make sure the registration number is up to date on your account.
  • Make sure your tag has a proper holder and is positioned correctly
  • Do not wave your tag when approaching the barrier
  • Obey the speed limits on approach to the Toll plazas.
  • Ensure you are not too close to the vehicle in front of you

On the M50 if your tag fails to read, your vehicle registration will be used to identify your vehicle as an easytrip customer. Therefore, it is very important to have the correct vehicle details assigned to your tag.

  • If your tag fails to read please contact us.
  • Tags may not work due to a variety of reasons:
  • Insufficient funds in your account.
  • Vehicle details may be incorrect, or may not have been updated.
  • Battery failure in tag, tag may need to be replaced.
  • System failure at plaza

What happens if I receive a fine for a toll charge on the M50?

If you receive a fine,  Contact Us  immediately.

What do the messages on the electronic site at the toll booth mean?

Valid Tag:  This means your account is in credit and you may proceed.

Invalid Tag: There is a problem with your account and you must contact us.

Warning Low Balance: This means you have reached your low balance level and your account will soon be credited with your agreed top up amount, but you can still proceed.

Trips showing up on website but not on app

  • 2 years ago 9 May 2022
  • François P.

I seem to have a pretty big problem with my Eurail. Basically, most of the train journeys I’m interested in taking don’t show up when I search for them on the app. They do, however, show up on the website, but it appears I can’t add them to my pass from the website. So, to book a seat for my upcoming first journey of the travel (from Madrid to Ronda, on the 10th of May, at 3:05PM), I added the trip manually to my pass on the app, copying the information from what I saw on the website and triple-checking that it was accurate. I then went in person to the train station (Atocha, in Madrid), as instructed by Eurail, to try to book the ticket, but was told there was no way for them to book it because my manually-entered journey had no QR code. (After I add the journey to my pass by toggling the little QR code icon, I go to “My Pass” and click on “Show ticket”, but it says “No ticket for this date”.) Does anyone know why that’s happening and what I could do to fix it? I tried to ask Eurail a few days ago but they haven’t answered yet, and I’m getting a bit worried since I’m supposed to be leaving tomorrow. If there was a way to add a journey to my trip from the website, and for it to synchronize with my app, that seems like it would fix most of the problem.

Can you try to add a random other journey, just to get the QR code? Or show them your order confirmation.

The mobile pass has many bugs, unfortunately.  You paid for your pass, so you should insist on getting your reservation at the ticket in Madrid. It’s not your fault that the ticket is not working.

I can advise you to check the EU Passenger Rights. Interrail and the railway companies are always reponsible for getting you to your destination, if you’ve paid for your ticket. 😊

Hello, I am sorry to hear of your traveling issues in Spain and thank you for posting about this. Indeed, as Sebastian mentioned, this seems to have been due to a technical glitch. It might be useful to add that it helps to ensure that your pass is updated to the latest available version and that you are connected to a stable WiFi connection when adding a new journey to a travel day. Once the journey is added, you don't have to be connected to WiFi to “show ticket”. The website has more up to date info than the app, and you can find last minute delays, changes and cancellations on the carrier's website too. Please do get in touch with our customer service team if you've incurred any fines or other additional costs due to this issue and we'll be happy to look into it :)

Cancelled flights

I have had cancelled flights from Luton to Belfast international in Feb if this year due to weather conditions. Obviously easyJet is not responsible for the weather but I am disappointed in is their response to the incident. They rightly cancelled the flight and gave us alternate ways to change out flights (apparently free of charge) they gave a customer services number and email link however the number just kept us on hold even though I tried on 3 separate occasions and held on for over 40mins on each occasion I could not get through. The link they gave just kept saying sorry something gone wrong try later every time I tried. I’ve had to either cancel my trip completely or book alternate flights at a higher cost!!! Shame on you easyJet your customer services leaves a lot to be desired!!!

Flight change

Yet again the impossible task of contacting a human being at EasyJet has rendered the simple matter of a flight change into a frustrating and unfair fiasco. Having paid for seats on a (now cancelled) flight out of Liverpool, I have had to pay a second time for seats (one row behind those on the original booking) on the substituted flight out of Manchester. If only companies like EasyJet would accept it’s impossible to cover every issue by directing customers to FAQs and “Help” sections. What this review really seeks, is to ask EasyJet NOT to hide the links for customers to send a written description of customer’s problems. We all know current corporate culture continues to prevent human contact and in so doing companies no longer have to invest in staff training or be concerned that staff actually know about any part of the system whether that be pre or post booking i.e. sales or customer service. The latter is nowadays a dumbed down version of people’s understanding of “customer service” which, before companies used the internet to escape the need to speak to the public, was indeed a service provided to customers. Please make it easier to CONTACT your “customer service” department; even if there’s nobody actually available to talk to us.

Developer Response ,

For this particular issue, we would recommend that you contact our Customer Service Team: https://www.easyjet.com/en/help/contact, who will hopefully be able to assist you further. Many thanks, easyJet Mobile Team

I’ve done all the routes to contact the customer service i followed the link to tweet same thing the answer it’s goes back from the beginning which it’s really make me so mad! thee ed n i have to try to ring many times and edited for a very very long time just to get through ! what did i’ve found out from that lady that she cannot find my request of refund ? but it’s says in my email the refund was on process! she said that day she requested it after more than a month of waiting and the sad part it will takes another 90 days on that day of my call! we need money as my husband cannot work i’m the only one working as off now due to lockdown this easy jet taking too much time to refund their customers in time! I agreed that why can they take our money immediately when you pay but they cannot refund us back same time! I’ve been using the airlines for many years too! but now i’m so unhappy dissatisfied with their customer service at all! Christine

With the Post Office travel app you can manage your Travel Money Card, access your travel insurance policy and book holiday extras on the move.

Here you’ll find help topics for both the app and the services it brings together.

New-look travel app out now

Our revamped travel app’s out now. It makes buying, topping up and managing Travel Money Cards with up to 22 currencies a breeze. Buying and accessing Travel Insurance on the move effortless. And it puts holiday extras like airport hotels, lounge access and more at your fingertips. All with an improved user experience. Find out what’s changed below.

  • Our new app

What's changing and why

Why are we changing the travel app.

Our original travel app was built on a platform that’s no longer able to scale to support the volume of users we experience.

By building a new app, we can also keep up to date with the mobile technology our customers use, which the older platform can’t do.

What are the benefits of the new app?

The new-look travel app offers improved performance across all devices, and a platform we can grow and improve continuously in the future. That means an experience that keeps getting better for its users.

This update also makes sure our app remains current with mobile technologies and what they make possible.

Updating to the new app

Why can’t i use the old travel app on my phone.

The old app will be switched off on 27 March 2024, so won’t work after this date.

Our improved travel app is available now. It supports any device running on iOS 13 or Android 8 operating systems and above.

If you have an older operating system, here’s what to do:

  • Check if you can update to a newer version of your operating system in your phone’s settings
  • If you can’t, you can still access your Travel Money Card via our website.

You can use the Travel Money Card website to:

  • View your balance
  • Top up your card
  • Move money between currencies
  • View transactions
  • Activate a new card

These functions aren’t available on the website at the moment:

  • View your PIN
  • Freeze your card
  • Find your nearest ATM
  • Find your nearest Post Office branch
  • Add card to Apple Pay
  • Authorise online transactions

Can I use my old travel app login?

If you have the previous version of the travel app installed and update to the new version, your login details will remain the same.

However, for security, you’ll need to reverify the email address you signed up with. You’ll also need to set up a new passcode and/or biometric login, which will involve confirming some personal details.

Can I view my existing Travel Money Cards?

If you’ve already bought a Travel Money Card through the previous app or in a branch, you can link it to the new app and keep using it. Currencies you’ve loaded using the app will still be available in the new one.

When can I update to the new travel app on my device?

We’re migrating users of the existing travel app first. If you’re one of them and your device has auto updates turned on, the new travel app should install to it automatically. If you’re a new user and have an iOS device, you can download our app from the App Store now . It will be available to download in app stores for Android devices once we’ve finished migrating existing users.

Travel Money Card in the new app

Are the same currencies available.

All currencies available in the previous version of the travel app can be topped up and swapped in the new and improved version.

Can I buy new Travel Money Cards in the app?

You can still order new cards within the new version of the travel app.

Can I add my Travel Money Card to Apple Pay?

Yes, you can add your Travel Money Cards to your Apple Pay account in the new app just as you could in the previous version.

Can I add my Travel Money Card to Google Wallet?

Sorry, not just yet. The updated app won’t support Google Wallet at launch. But we’re working on it.

Why can I only see my last 20 transactions?

You’ll see a summary of your last 20 transactions displayed on the Travel Money Card page. To see more, press the ‘View all’ button at the bottom of the screen to show all previous transactions.

Can I upgrade to the new app while I’m abroad?

If your device is set to download from your UK app store, you should be able to download the new app while abroad. You’ll need access to Wi-Fi or mobile data. Please note, using mobile data abroad can come with high charges.

If you can’t download the app, you can register any Travel Money Cards you have with us in your online account instead. Then you can download the new app when you get home and link it to your account. Your cards and/or policies should then appear within it.

Can I download app on an iPad or Android tablet?

No, sorry. At launch the new travel app will only be available on smartphone devices, not tablets.

Other app questions

Can i use biometric login.

The new travel app continues to support biometric login. If you use an iOS device, you can use Touch ID and Face ID to access it. On Android devices, you can log in using fingerprint authentication.

Why does the app want to know my location?

Location data will be used when the ATM and branch finder features are added later.

You’re free to decline location permissions, or withdraw these at any time, without restricting the use of any features in the launch version of the app.

How can i order my card.

You can get hold on a Travel Money Card in three ways. Each is very simple.

  • In our travel app: order and store up to three Travel Money Cards in the Post Office travel app . Delivery will take 2-3 days
  • Online:  follow our application process  to order your card online. Your card will take 2-3 days to be delivered. Once it arrives you can link it to our travel app to manage on the go
  • In branch: simply  find a nearby Post Office branch  and pop in to get your Travel Money Card there. Please remember to take a valid passport, UK driving licence or a valid EEA card to obtain your card, and you can take it away the same day

Please note, you must be a UK resident over the age of 18 to obtain a Travel Monday Card.

Whichever way you choose to order your card, don't forget to activate it once it arrives. Full details of how to activate your card will be provided in your welcome letter, to which your card will be attached if it’s been sent in the post.

How long will my card take to arrive?

Whether you order your card in the app or on our website, it will be delivered to your home address in two to three working days.

If you need a card in a shorter time, please check with your local Post Office branch. Exchange rates vary between online and branch.

Currency questions

What currencies can i load onto my card.

The Post Office Travel Money Card can be loaded with up to 22 currencies at any one time. Top up with one or a few, if that’s all you need, or with all currencies at the same time.

You can top up funds in each currency’s wallet, or transfer funds between the different wallets, in our free travel app or online.

We recommend topping up with the currency of the country you're travelling to, rather than in pounds sterling (GBP).

The currencies available are:

EUR – euro   USD – US dollar   AUD – Australian dollar   AED - UAE dirham   CAD – Canadian dollar   CHF – Swiss franc   CNY – Chinese yuan   CZK – Czech koruna   DKK – Danish krone   GBP – pound sterling   HKD – Hong Kong dollar   HUF – Hungarian forint   JPY – Japanese yen   NOK – Norwegian krone   NZD – New Zealand dollar   PLN – Polish zloty   SAR – Saudi riyal   SEK – Swedish Krona   SGD – Singapore dollar   THB – Thai baht   TRY – Turkish lira   ZAR – South African rand

How do I top up my Travel Money Card?

There are a few ways you can top up your card – either in branch, online or in our travel app.

In the app, just click ‘Cards’ in the navigation bar at the bottom. This will take you to your Travel Money Card summary page, where you can see all the cards you’ve linked.

Tap ‘View card activity’ on the card you want to top up. This will take you to a screen for that specific card, showing all currencies you have loaded onto it.

To quickly top up a currency that’s already loaded, click the plus (+) sign next to the currency and enter the amount you wish to top up (minimum amount £50).

You can also select the plus (+) sign by ‘Top up’ and choose an amount to top up with before selecting which of the 22 currencies to apply the top-up to.

Tap ‘Continue’ to see your order summary, where you can amend your order if needed or continue to payment.

If it’s your first top up, you’ll need to enter your payment card details on the next screen (‘Payment card’).

I have money left on my card. What do I do?

You have 4 options:

  • Leave the money on your card for your next holiday
  • Visit any Post Office branch and withdraw the balance over the counter in Sterling. There’s a daily withdrawal limit of £300 per day
  • Spend your money in the UK as normal. We’ll move the money to Sterling every time you pay for something. Anything you don’t spend stays in the currency you have on the card. No fees apply, we just use the day’s exchange rate
  • Call us to ask for a refund. Please note that you’ll get a better exchange rate by spending on your card or withdrawing cash from a Post Office branch

Using and managing your card

If you think you have misplaced your card and want peace of mind, you can freeze spend on your card using the Post Office travel app, available on the  App Store  and  Google Play . You can unfreeze just as easily if you find your card again.

How do I get or change my PIN?

About travel insurance

Why is travel insurance important.

Travel insurance is an important purchase for anyone going abroad for their holidays.

Even in relatively safe locations such as central Europe, a myriad of things can go wrong. Flights can be delayed. Airlines can lose your luggage. Thieves often operate in tourist areas. And you could eat something that disagrees with you anywhere in the world.

We hope none of these events happen to you. But, if they do, you could be out of pocket – and with emergency medical problems it could be by tens or even hundreds of thousands of pounds.

Travel insurance may be able to help protect you against some of this risk. It’s a way to insure travel for you, those travelling with you and your belongings.

If your luggage is lost, holiday insurance may not be able to replace it, but the payout from a claim can help recover any costs that you have had to pay to get temporary alternatives.

In particular, the medical cover outside of the EU offered by insurance is a necessity.

Within the EU, meanwhile, you may think an Ehic, or its replacement the Ghic, can cover all your medical needs. This isn’t true. Some of the most expensive medical services, such as repatriation, aren’t covered by the Ehic or Ghic. They’re limited to health cover and won’t help with things like cancellation, loss or theft.

Even if you’re staying in the UK for your break, having holiday insurance will provide cover for lost, damaged or stolen possessions such as baggage, and cancellation, cutting your trip short or delay to your trip in some circumstances.

What does travel insurance cover?

Post Office Travel Insurance can cover you for a single trip of up to 365 days*, or multiple trips** in a single year, anywhere in the UK or abroad. We also offer backpacker cover> for a single trip of up to 18 months.

The type and level of cover provided depends on the policy type and options you choose, but can include cover for cancellation, cutting your trip short and abandonment of your trip, emergency medical expenses, lost, stolen or damaged baggage, lost, stolen or damaged passports or personal money, personal accidents and liability, legal protection.

Optional additional cover available includes Covid-19 Cover upgrade, Gadget Cover, Sport and Activities Cover (including golf), Trip Disruption Cover (including Terrorism), Natural Catastrophe and Air Space Disruption) and Excess Waiver, plus 31-, 45- or 60-day trip extensions (on Annual Multi-trip policies only).

Winter Sports Cover is compulsory for winter sports trips and Cruise Cover is compulsory if you’re going on a cruise. It’s important to check the different travel insurances available, and their various options and add-ons, to ensure you’ll be sufficiently covered for your trip and all you’ll do on it.

* For Economy, Standard and Premier policies, the Singe trip policy will cover you for one trip up to:

365 days for persons aged up to and including age 70

90 days for persons aged between 71 and 75

31 days for persons aged between 76 and above

**For Economy, Standard and Premier policies under Annual Multi-trip policy although you can take as many trips as you want within the policy year, there is a maximum duration for each individual trip. This limit varies depending on the cover level chosen and will be 17 or 31 days. On some policies the limit can be extended to 31, 45 or 60 days for an additional premium.

> Backpacker policies only available on the Economy level of cover

Emergencies and claims

I’m on my trip and need emergency medical assistance. what should i do.

Call our emergency medical assistance line any time, 24/7.

0208 865 3074

How do I make claim on my travel insurance?

For non-emergency claims, the quickest and easiest way to submit a claim is online.

There’s no need to send or wait for documents in the post. Just upload them instead. And you can save your progress if you don’t have all the information you need, then return to complete your claim later.

For some claims you could get an instant decision.

Visit our claims page

Manage your policy and options

How do i renew or cancel the renewal of my travel insurance policy.

When you buy an annual multi-trip policy, it can be renewed automatically or manually. Or, if you prefer it doesn’t renew, you can turn off the auto-renewal.

Whatever your choice, we’ll write to you around 28 days before the date your current policy is due to end. We’ll detail any changes we’ll make should you wish to renew the policy and give you a quote for the next year’s cover.

Automatic renewal:  when you buy a multi-trip policy, it will be set up to automatically renew at the end of its term. If you want to opt out of this renewal, you can do so when making your purchase or at any time during the policy. Equally, if you don’t select auto renewal upfront you can turn it on later by calling our contact centre.

Manual renewal:  if you’ve opted out of auto renewal, you can opt in manually later, such as when we send your renewal reminder or by calling our contact centre to set this up. It’s easy to renew through your online account or by calling our contact centre. If you miss the renewal date, you can still take out a new policy later. You’ll need to start a new quote, as the renewal quote is only valid until your current policy’s expiry date. This may also mean a gap in your cover until the new policy starts.

Turning off auto-renewal:  if your existing policy is set to renew automatically but you change your mind later, simply turn it off at any point during the policy’s life, either in the app, in your online account or by calling our contact centre team.

If you’re within the last 8 days of your policy, you’ll need to call our contact centre to do so. The later you do this the greater the chance a renewal payment will be taken by the bank. If this happens before your renewal cancellation is processed, we’ll make sure your payment is refunded.

My policy includes flight delay assistance. How do I register a flight?

If you bought a Post Office Travel Insurance policy with our Premier level of cover, which includes flight delay assistance , you should have received an email from us with details of how to register for this service.

If you can’t find the email or you arranged your policy in a Post Office branch or don't have an email address, all the information you need will be in your policy confirmation pack. You can only register your flight via the special link provided to you.

  • Read all travel insurance FAQs

How can I claim my account balance?

Your POca account is now closed and you should have received a letter notifying you of the date your account closed. From that date you will no longer be able to access your account either in branches or via ATMs.

Until the 30th November you (or third parties) can access balances on closed accounts by completing and returning either an account closure form P6703 or a third party closure form P6702 via your local branch. The form provides the option to transfer your balance to a bank or building society account or you can choose to have a cheque sent to you.  If you have been moved to the imovo voucher service and do not have an account to transfer your balance into, you can speak to the POca contact centre on 03457 22 33 44 and they will be able to discuss other options that are available to you.

From 1 December 2022 Post Office Limited will no longer offer any services relating to Post Office card account and closed accounts will be managed by J. P. Morgan Europe Limited.  A new customer service helpline will be provided from this date and full details of how to contact J.P.Morgan Europe Limited from 1 December will be provided on this page nearer the time.

Why My Expedia Itinerary Not Showing Up And What To Do

my easy trip app not working

Why is my Expedia itinerary not showing up? If you recently booked travel through Expedia and your itinerary or reservation is not showing up in your account, don’t panic. This frustrating issue has several potential causes and solutions.

If you’re short on time, here’s a quick answer to your question: Log into your Expedia account and check under ‘My Trips’ . If it’s not there, confirm your booking via email and call Expedia to have an agent locate your reservation. You may need to resend payment or verify account information.

In this comprehensive guide, we’ll cover the various reasons your Expedia itinerary might not be visible and the step-by-step methods to get it showing properly again.

Checking Basic Expedia Account Issues

If you are experiencing issues with your Expedia itinerary not showing up , there are a few basic account issues that you should check first. These can often be the cause of the problem and can be easily resolved.

Logged into the correct account

It may seem obvious, but one common reason why your Expedia itinerary is not appearing is that you are not logged into the correct account. Double-check that you are using the correct email address and password associated with your Expedia accoun t.

Sometimes, we tend to have multiple email addresses and it’s easy to get confused. If you are unsure, try logging out and then logging back in with the correct credentials.

The itinerary is set as a hidden

Another reason why your Expedia itinerary may not be showing up is that it could be set as hidden in your account settings. Expedia gives you the option to hide itineraries for privacy reasons. To check if this is the case, log in to your Expedia account and go to the “My Trips” section.

Look for the option to show hidden itineraries and make sure it is enabled. This should make your itinerary visible again.

Incorrect login email/password

If you are confident that you are using the correct login credentials, but still can’t see your Expedia itinerary, it’s possible that your email or password may have been entered incorrectly. It’s worth double-checking the spelling and ensuring that the caps lock key is not accidentally turned on.

If you are still having trouble, you can try resetting your password by following the instructions on the Expedia website.

Remember, these are just some of the basic account issues that could be causing your Expedia itinerary to not show up. If none of these solutions work, it’s best to reach out to Expedia’s customer support for further assistance.

They will be able to investigate the issue and help you get your itinerary back on track.

Verifying Your Booking Status With Expedia

So you’ve made a reservation through Expedia, but now you’re wondering why your itinerary is not showing up. Don’t worry, there are a few things you can do to verify your booking status and ensure everything is in order. Here are some steps you can take to resolve the issue:

Call support for booking assistance

If you’re having trouble finding your itinerary on Expedia, it’s always a good idea to reach out to their customer support for assistance . They have a dedicated team of professionals who can help you navigate through any issues you may be facing.

You can find their contact information on the Expedia website or app.

Check account and itinerary for errors

Before contacting support, double-check your Expedia account and itinerary for any errors. Make sure that you are using the correct login credentials and that your booking details are accurate. Sometimes, a simple mistake in entering your information can cause your itinerary to not show up.

If you notice any discrepancies, correct them and see if that resolves the issue.

Confirm additional travelers and rooms

Another reason why your itinerary may not be showing up is if you have booked for additional travelers or rooms. Expedia allows you to add multiple travelers and rooms to your reservation. Double-check to make sure that you have included all the necessary information and that it matches the details of your booking.

If you have made any changes to the number of travelers or rooms, ensure that it is reflected correctly in your itinerary.

By following these steps, you should be able to verify your booking status with Expedia and resolve any issues with your itinerary not showing up . Remember, if you’re still having trouble, don’t hesitate to contact Expedia’s customer support for further assistance. Happy travels!

Troubleshooting Payment and Verification Problems

If you are experiencing issues with your Expedia itinerary not showing up, it could be due to several payment and verification problems. Here are some common reasons why this may be happening and what you can do to resolve them:

Invalid or declined payment method

One possible reason for your Expedia itinerary not showing up is an invalid or declined payment method. It’s important to ensure that the credit card or payment method you provided during the booking process is valid and has sufficient funds.

Double-check the details you entered and try using a different payment method if necessary. If you continue to experience issues, contacting your bank or credit card provider for assistance may be helpful.

Unverified account or email address

Another reason why your Expedia itinerary may not be showing up is that your account or email address is unverified. Expedia requires users to verify their accounts or email addresses to ensure the security of bookings and prevent fraud.

Check your email inbox or spam folder for any verification emails from Expedia and follow the instructions provided. If you can’t find any verification email, try resending it through your Expedia account settings.

Verifying your account or email address should resolve the issue and allow your itinerary to appear.

Coupons or credits not properly applied

It’s also possible that your Expedia itinerary is not showing up because any coupons or credits you have applied during the booking process were not properly processed . Issues With the Expedia Mobile App and Website

Expedia is a popular online travel agency that offers a convenient way to book flights, hotels, and other travel services. However, like any technology platform, it is not immune to occasional glitches and errors.

If you’re experiencing issues with your Expedia itinerary not showing up, here are some potential reasons and solutions to explore.

Website loading errors or glitches

One possible reason for your Expedia itinerary not showing up could be due to website loading errors or glitches. Sometimes, the website may experience temporary issues that prevent it from displaying your itinerary accurately.

If you encounter this problem, try refreshing the page or opening Expedia in a different browser. If the issue persists, it may be worth clearing your browsing history and cache.

The app not syncing properly with the account

If you’re using the Expedia mobile app and your itinerary is not showing up, it could be due to syncing issues with your account. Ensure that you’re logged into the app with the same account used to make the booking.

If you recently made a booking on the website and it’s not appearing on the app, give it some time as there can be a delay in syncing the information. If the problem persists, try logging out and logging back into the app or reinstalling it to refresh the connection.

Clear browsing history and cache

Clearing your browsing history and cache can often resolve issues with the Expedia website and improve its overall performance. This can be especially helpful if you’re experiencing slow loading times or if certain pages are not displaying correctly.

To clear your browsing history and cache, go to the settings or preferences section of your browser and find the option to clear browsing data. Make sure to select the appropriate checkboxes for history and cache, and then click on the clear or delete button.

Remember, technology can sometimes be unpredictable, and even the most popular platforms like Expedia can have occasional hiccups. If you’ve tried the above solutions and are still unable to view your itinerary, don’t hesitate to reach out to Expedia’s customer support for further assistance.

They will be able to help you troubleshoot the issue and ensure that your travel plans are not disrupted.

Rebooking on Expedia as a Last Resort

It can be incredibly frustrating when you can’t locate your reservation on Expedia, especially when your trip is just around the corner. However, there are certain steps you can take to address this issue and ensure a smooth travel experience.

Can’t locate reservation after 1 week

If you have been unable to locate your reservation on Expedia even after a week, it’s important not to panic. Start by double-checking the email confirmation you received when you made the booking. Look for any typos or errors in the reservation details and ensure that you are using the correct email address and booking reference number.

If you still can’t find your reservation, reach out to Expedia’s customer support team for assistance. They have dedicated agents who can help you locate your booking and provide you with the necessary information.

Remember to provide them with as much information as possible, such as the date of travel, destination, and any other relevant details. This will expedite the process and increase the chances of finding your reservation quickly.

Too late to fix issues before the trip

It can be frustrating to realize that there are issues with your itinerary just before your trip. However, there are still options available to you, even if it seems like it’s too late to fix the problem.

One option is to contact the airline or hotel directly. They may be able to assist you in resolving any issues with your reservation. Explain the situation to them and ask if they can make any necessary changes or accommodations.

If contacting the airline or hotel doesn’t yield any results, consider rebooking your trip through Expedia as a last resort. While this may involve additional costs, it can provide you with peace of mind knowing that your travel plans are secure.

When rebooking, be sure to carefully review the terms and conditions, as well as any cancellation policies. This will help you understand any fees or penalties associated with changing your reservation.

Remember, Expedia is a reputable online travel agency that has helped millions of travelers book their trips. While issues can arise, their customer support team is there to assist you and ensure that you have a positive travel experience.

Why My Expedia Itinerary Not Showing Up- Conclusion

While an Expedia itinerary not showing properly can cause stress, especially when you have upcoming travel, take a systematic approach to uncover what’s going on.

In most cases, there is a minor technical issue, user error or miscommunication that can be easily fixed by working with Expedia support staff or troubleshooting account and app configurations.

With the comprehensive solutions outlined here, you should be able to get your reservation back on track quickly.

8 Easy Ways to Fix Google Maps Not Working On Android

my easy trip app not working

Ankita enjoys exploring and writing about technology. Starting as a script and copywriter, her keen interest in the digital world pulled her towards technology. With GT, she has found her calling in writing about and simplifying the world of tech for others. On any given day, you can catch her chained to her laptop, meeting deadlines, writing scripts, and watching shows (any language!).

Apps have most certainly made our lives easier. Take Google Maps for example. It’s especially helpful when going around unfamiliar places without the constant fear of getting lost. However, what happens when you launch the app but find that Google Maps is not working? Is there any way to fix this? Let’s find out.

Fix Google Maps Not Working On Android

You might be able to go into the app and tinker around with settings to fix issues like Google Maps search not working, Timeline not showing , etc. But when the Google Maps app itself is not working, you’ll have to turn to your Android phone’s settings to try and fix it.

With that in mind, we have compiled a list of 8 easy ways to fix this issue. Keep reading to know more.

1. Restart Device

Restarting your device is an easy way to fix a number of app issues. Once your device restarts, it closes all app functions and forces them to completely restart. This can also help fix the issues with the Google Maps app. Here’s how to do it.

Step 1: Long-press the power button.

Step 2: Then, tap on Restart.

Tap on Restart

Wait for your device to finish restarting. Then, enter the device PIN, if required, and try opening Google Maps again. If it still doesn’t work, move on to the next fix.

2. Force Quit and Restart App

While restarting a device restarts all device functions, restarting an app helps restart the functions and features of that particular app. This can, in turn, help fix issues like the app not starting or working properly. Follow the below steps to do it.

Step 1: In the bottom left corner, tap on the Recent icon. Alternatively, you can also swipe up from the bottom of the screen.

Step 2: Then, hold the Google Maps app and swipe up.

Hold the Google Maps app and swipe up

Once the app is cleared from the screen, it will be closed from running in the background as well. To ensure all app functions have ceased, you can also force the Google Maps app to close from the settings menu. Here’s how.

Step 1: Open Settings.

Step 2: Here, tap on Apps.

Step 3: From the list of apps, tap on Maps.

Tap on Apps & tap on Maps

Step 4: In the bottom right corner, tap on Force stop.

Step 5: Tap on OK.

Tap on Force stop & tap on OK

Now, try opening the Google Maps app again to see if it is working as expected.

3. Check the Internet Connection

Checking internet speeds on any device can be as easy as playing a video. Open YouTube and set the video to full HD 1080p or 4k (if supported by your device) and check the playback. If the video plays smoothly with no visible buffering or quality drops, your internet connection is fine.

However, if you face frequent buffering or mid-video quality drops, your internet connection seems to be the culprit.

Check internet speed

In this case, you can first start by checking the internet speed on your Android device. If the speeds are less than ideal, try switching from mobile data to Wi-Fi and check again. You can also check our other guides on fixing mobile data not working and Android not connecting to Wi-Fi automatically if you’re facing connectivity issues.

4. Enable Location Accuracy

For navigation apps, having access to location and even precise location data is essential. This can help the app figure out exactly where you are and set your starting point in the map accordingly. This can then be used to measure the distance and other parameters when setting a route for any destination.

However, if the location permissions are not granted, it can cause issues like the Google Maps app crashing or not opening at all. To fix it, ensure all the necessary permissions have been granted. Here’s how.

Step 1: Open Settings and tap on Location.

Step 2: After confirming the Location toggle is on, tap on App permissions.

Tap on Location & tap on App permissions

Step 3: Scroll through the apps and tap on Maps.

Step 4: From the options, select ‘Allow all the time’.

Step 5: Additionally, turn the ‘Use precise location’ toggle on.

Tap on Maps & turn toggle on

This will ensure the Google Maps app has access to precise location data and also improve its location accuracy.

5. Allow the App to Run In the Background

To prevent Google Maps from being a battery hogger, most devices usually have it set to restricted or battery saver modes automatically. These can be manually toggled on by the users as well.

However, restricting access to running in the background can cause problems like ‘Google Maps stopped working’ on Android as your device restricts the app functions to conserve battery life.

To fix this, follow the below steps to unrestrict the Google Maps Android app.

Step 1: Open Settings and tap on Apps.

Step 2: Here, tap on Maps.

Step 3: Then, tap on Battery.

Step 4: Tap on Unrestricted.

Tap on Battery & tap on Unrestricted

While this might fix your issues, it will allow Google Maps to allow rampant in the background. Check out our other article if you end up facing issues with Google Maps draining your Android’s battery life .

6. Clear Cache and Data

Clearing the cache for any app can help you get rid of temporary files and other stored app data that are usually used to decrease app loading time. Deleting app data, on the other hand, can help you in getting rid of all the files, account settings, databases, etc. related to the app on your device. This way, any corrupt app data that might be causing problems with the Google Maps app will also be deleted.

Please note that any data deleted is permanent. If you’d still like to give it a try, follow the below steps.

Step 1: Go to Settings and tap on Apps.

Step 3: Then, tap on Storage.

Step 4: Here, tap on Clear cache.

Tap on Storage & tap on Clear cache

Step 5: Tap on Clear data.

Step 6: Then, tap on Delete.

Tap on Clear data & tap on Delete

Once this is done, launch the Google Maps app again. If it’s still not opening, proceed with the fixes mentioned below.

7. Update Google Maps

Updating any app gives you instant access to all the latest app features, security updates, bug fixes, and more. They are also crucial in ensuring your app performs as expected as outdated apps can crash due to issues like software incompatibility or buggy interface. Follow the below steps to do it.

Step 1: Open Google Play Store and tap on the search bar.

Tap on the search bar

Step 2: Type Google Maps and select the app from the search results.

Step 3: Then, tap on Update.

Open page & tap on Update

Wait for the app to finish updating. Then, use the abovementioned method to close the app from the background and restart it again.

8. Update Android

Just like app updates ensure your apps stay up-to-date, Android software updates ensure the same for your device as a whole. Additionally, it can also help fix any incompatibility issues or software bugs that might be preventing Google Maps from opening on your device. Here’s how to do it.

Step 2: Scroll down and tap on Software update.

Step 3: Then, tap on ‘Download and install’.

Tap on Software update & download update

If an update is available, download it. Then, using the on-screen options, restart your device to finish installing the updates.

FAQs for Using Google Maps on Android

Open the Google Maps Android app and from the cards available at the screen’s top, tap on More. Locate the Services section and tap on Parking. Locate and save the parking location in Google Maps accordingly.

To add a home address in Google Maps , open the app and tap on Saved from the menu options. Then, tap on Labelled > Home. next, use the search bar to add your home address accordingly in Google Maps. You can also use this feature to add your Work location in Google Maps.

Solve Your Navigation Woes

It becomes a hassle when you’re all ready to leave, but the app refuses to work. So, we hope that this article helped you solve and fix the mystery behind Google Maps not working on your Android device. Additionally, if you feel like Google Maps navigation is not at par recently, you might want to consider calibrating Google Maps to ensure you’re always on the right path.

The huge solar storm is keeping power grid and satellite operators on edge

NASA's Solar Dynamics Observatory captured this image of solar flares early Saturday afternoon. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration says there have been measurable effects and impacts from the geomagnetic storm.

Planet Earth is getting rocked by the biggest solar storm in decades – and the potential effects have those people in charge of power grids, communications systems and satellites on edge.

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration says there have been measurable effects and impacts from the geomagnetic storm that has been visible as aurora across vast swathes of the Northern Hemisphere. So far though, NOAA has seen no reports of major damage.

There has been some degradation and loss to communication systems that rely on high-frequency radio waves, NOAA told NPR, as well as some preliminary indications of irregularities in power systems.

"Simply put, the power grid operators have been busy since yesterday working to keep proper, regulated current flowing without disruption," said Shawn Dahl, service coordinator for the Boulder, Co.-based Space Weather Prediction Center at NOAA.

"Satellite operators are also busy monitoring spacecraft health due to the S1-S2 storm taking place along with the severe-extreme geomagnetic storm that continues even now," Dahl added, saying some GPS systems have struggled to lock locations and offered incorrect positions.

NOAA's GOES-16 satellite captured a flare erupting occurred around 2 p.m. EDT on May 9, 2024.

As NOAA had warned late Friday, the Earth has been experiencing a G5, or "Extreme," geomagnetic storm . It's the first G5 storm to hit the planet since 2003, when a similar event temporarily knocked out power in part of Sweden and damaged electrical transformers in South Africa.

The NOAA center predicted that this current storm could induce auroras visible as far south as Northern California and Alabama.

Around the world on social media, posters put up photos of bright auroras visible in Russia , Scandinavia , the United Kingdom and continental Europe . Some reported seeing the aurora as far south as Mallorca, Spain .

The source of the solar storm is a cluster of sunspots on the sun's surface that is 17 times the diameter of the Earth. The spots are filled with tangled magnetic fields that can act as slingshots, throwing huge quantities of charged particles towards our planet. These events, known as coronal mass ejections, become more common during the peak of the Sun's 11-year solar cycle.

A powerful solar storm is bringing northern lights to unusual places

Usually, they miss the Earth, but this time, NOAA says several have headed directly toward our planet, and the agency predicted that several waves of flares will continue to slam into the Earth over the next few days.

While the storm has proven to be large, predicting the effects from such incidents can be difficult, Dahl said.

Shocking problems

The most disruptive solar storm ever recorded came in 1859. Known as the "Carrington Event," it generated shimmering auroras that were visible as far south as Mexico and Hawaii. It also fried telegraph systems throughout Europe and North America.

Stronger activity on the sun could bring more displays of the northern lights in 2024

While this geomagnetic storm will not be as strong, the world has grown more reliant on electronics and electrical systems. Depending on the orientation of the storm's magnetic field, it could induce unexpected electrical currents in long-distance power lines — those currents could cause safety systems to flip, triggering temporary power outages in some areas.

my cat just experienced the aurora borealis, one of the world's most radiant natural phenomena... and she doesn't care pic.twitter.com/Ee74FpWHFm — PJ (@kickthepj) May 10, 2024

The storm is also likely to disrupt the ionosphere, a section of Earth's atmosphere filled with charged particles. Some long-distance radio transmissions use the ionosphere to "bounce" signals around the globe, and those signals will likely be disrupted. The particles may also refract and otherwise scramble signals from the global positioning system, according to Rob Steenburgh, a space scientist with NOAA. Those effects can linger for a few days after the storm.

Like Dahl, Steenburgh said it's unclear just how bad the disruptions will be. While we are more dependent than ever on GPS, there are also more satellites in orbit. Moreover, the anomalies from the storm are constantly shifting through the ionosphere like ripples in a pool. "Outages, with any luck, should not be prolonged," Steenburgh said.

What Causes The Northern Lights? Scientists Finally Know For Sure

What Causes The Northern Lights? Scientists Finally Know For Sure

The radiation from the storm could have other undesirable effects. At high altitudes, it could damage satellites, while at low altitudes, it's likely to increase atmospheric drag, causing some satellites to sink toward the Earth.

The changes to orbits wreak havoc, warns Tuija Pulkkinen, chair of the department of climate and space sciences at the University of Michigan. Since the last solar maximum, companies such as SpaceX have launched thousands of satellites into low Earth orbit. Those satellites will now see their orbits unexpectedly changed.

"There's a lot of companies that haven't seen these kind of space weather effects before," she says.

The International Space Station lies within Earth's magnetosphere, so its astronauts should be mostly protected, Steenburgh says.

In a statement, NASA said that astronauts would not take additional measures to protect themselves. "NASA completed a thorough analysis of recent space weather activity and determined it posed no risk to the crew aboard the International Space Station and no additional precautionary measures are needed," the agency said late Friday.

While this storm will undoubtedly keep satellite operators and utilities busy over the next few days, individuals don't really need to do much to get ready.

"As far as what the general public should be doing, hopefully they're not having to do anything," Dahl said. "Weather permitting, they may be visible again tonight." He advised that the largest problem could be a brief blackout, so keeping some flashlights and a radio handy might prove helpful.

And don't forget to go outside and look up, adds Steenburgh. This event's aurora is visible much further south than usual.

A faint aurora can be detected by a modern cell phone camera, he adds, so even if you can't see it with your eyes, try taking a photo of the sky.

The aurora "is really the gift from space weather," he says.
