Bollywood: Sunny Leone kicks off US tour, says being in US brings her joy

Leone will make appearances in Austin, Dallas, Houston and Chicago

Actress Sunny Leone is set for an elaborate US Tour starting on Saturday. The tour will see NRI fans of the actress. As per her current schedule, Leone will be making public appearances in Austin on March 11, in Dallas on March 12, in Houston on March 17 and 18 followed by Chicago on March 19.

With the current venues already booked out, the organisers are looking at adding a few more cities. Talking about the tour, Leone said: “Being in the US has always been a joy for me. I get to interact with very different sorts of people on these tours.”

She mentioned: “The US also has a diverse culture so I get to meet people from different walks of life. It is endearing to see the kind of love they shower on me. It humbles me, it pumps me to work harder.”

Leone, who started her film journey in India after appearing in the season 5 of the reality show ‘Bigg Boss’, is known for her dance and work in films such as ‘Hate Story 2’, ‘Shootout at Wadala’ and ‘Raees’.

Sunny Leone, Mika Singh to have a joint concert tour in North America

Duo will be visiting DC, Houston, in August.

NEW DELHI: Rising Bollywood starlet Sunny Leone, and leading Bollywood crooner Mika Singh, have announced a joint concert tour that will take the US and Canada by storm later this summer.

The as-yet untitled tour will visit the major cities in North America this August, with both headliners tweeting over the weekend that they’ll be westward bound in just a couple months’ time. Also accompanying the pair are Miss India Internationals winners Amruta and Akasa.

Full tour dates have not yet been announced, but the pair will be coming to Washington, DC on  August 8 , and will be Houston, Texas on Indian Independence Day,  August 15 .

Tickets are currently priced at various levels, ranging from under $40 for the most basic, to $500 for the VVIP-caliber passes, which presumably allow purchasers the chance to meet and interact with Singh and Leone. Other ticket prices are $50, $60, $75, $100, $125, and $200.

Leone, a former Indo-Canadian porn star, burst onto the Bollywood scene just two years ago, with her performance in the erotic thriller  Jism 2 . The film was panned by critics, but did well at the box office, and Leone has subsequently become a hot commodity in B-town. Her most recent release,  Ragini MMS 2 , dominated the box office and is one of the highest-grossing Hindi films of the year so far.

Singh is best known as the younger brother of singing legend Daler Mehndi, but has transformed into an accomplished singer in his own right. After making a big debut with the song “Mauja Hi Mauja” in 2005’s  Jab We Met , he has sung hit songs like “Subha Hone Na De” ( Desi Boyz ), “Pungi” ( Agent Vinod ), “Chinta Ta Chita Chita” ( Rowdy Rathore ), and, most recently, the smash hit “Gandi Baat” ( R… Rajkumar ).

Take a tour of Sunny Leone’s sprawling Los Angeles mansion where she’s spending the lockdown

Sunny Leone and her husband Daniel Weber recently moved back to Los Angeles , with their kids -- sons Noah and Aster and daughter Nisha. On the actress’ 39th birthday, she announced that this move was made because they felt it was safer to be in Los Angeles against the “invisible killer coronavirus”. So now, the family has been spending their days in their lush country-home style mansion and documenting it on social media. Check it out:

Sunny Leone and Daniel Weber’s Los Angeles mansion is literally just five-minute away from the iconic Hollywood sign. And it’s a 30-minute drive to LA’s Beverly Hills neighbourhood which boasts of being the address of the biggest Hollywood stars in the world. With a view like that, we would never leave our houses, regardless of the lockdown. Their country-style home is spread across an acre or 43,560 square feet in Sherman Oaks.

The house has five bedrooms. It also boasts of a swimming pool, a large patio and front deck as well as a sprawling lush garden. It is reported that in this large garden, a space has been reserved to set up your own small farm and grow certain herbs and vegetables. This is a plus point, especially now that the coronavirus is around and the safest way to live is to be self sufficient.

Their large deck, which looks out at a panoramic view of LA city, has also been done up to suit small barbecue parties, complete with outdoor seating, a dining table and a grill. This place becomes especially in the evenings and nights when the sun lowers on the City Of Angels and the glimmering lights take over.

Sunny had bought the LA home on the occasion of her 36th birthday in 2017. In an interview taken post this event, Weber said in regards to the house, “Sunny and I had wanted this property for a really long time. We got possession just this week. We have shopped for all the artefacts in Italy and Spain. The house reflects our personalities and tastes. We have been travelling the world shopping for the décor.” 

The couple took a KLM government flight to fly out of India and into the US, as Daniel Weber revealed on Twitter to a follower.

• Born in Ontario, Canada, Sunny Leone grew up in idyllic surroundings, loving the cold Canadian winters and the snow that came with them. Building snowmen and ice skating were regular activities outside the Leone household every November through March. With a love for sports, singing and dancing, young Sunny was a consummate performer, basking in the attention it brought her and eating up every word of praise that came her way. Everything changed in 1996, when her family packed up and moved to Southern California. It was a difficult adjustment for the little Canadian girl, whose innocence and naiveté were less than fully appreciated by her new high school classmates. In addition, her adopted hometown lacked the change of seasons she so loved in the Old Country. Sunny persevered, however, and after graduating in 1999, enrolled in a local junior college. The international music producer Marshmello’s collaboration with Sunny Leone delivered an unforgettable experience for the audience. A video from the event shows Sunny having time of her life on the stage as well as with her husband Daniel Weber as an audience.

Rappers Badshah and Armaan Malik also joined Marshmallow on stage in Mumbai.
