TOM Cruise's daughter Suri Cruise has been spotted on the streets of Manhattan looking like a full-blown adult.

The 17-year-old was seen in New York's Soho while walking with some friends.

Suri is the daughter of actors Tom Cruise , 60, and Katie Holmes , 44.

She was wearing a black tank top and a knee-length denim skirt which gave early 2000s vibes.

She paired it with several silver bracelets and a black string choker necklace that had a large silver flower on it.

On her feet were black sneakers and tall white socks that were scrunched down at her ankles.

Suri was also sporting a face full of makeup - lipstick and blush included.

In August 2021, Katie and her lookalike daughter turned heads as they stepped out in New York City .

It was hard to miss that her daughter had a striking similarity to her actress mom in the early days of her career.

With her tall frame and long dark locks, the teen looked just like Katie when she starred in Dawson's Creek over 20 years ago.

Katie starred as Joey Potter in Dawson's Creek from 1998 to 2003, joining the show as a fresh-faced 18-year-old.

On their Friday outing, Katie kept it casual in a cream T-shirt tucked into white pants. Suri wore red shorts and cropped tank top.

Enjoying her evening stroll with her only child, Katie affectionately played with her daughter's brunette tresses while they waited for a crosswalk to turn green.

FATHER-DAUGHTER RELATIONSHIP

Suri has reportedly not seen  Top Gun  star Tom in more than a decade after her mom divorced him when she was five.

Katie gained sole custody of Suri in 2012, along with a generous settlement that has Tom paying a reported £325,000 a year for his daughter’s care.

After the split, Katie took Suri to New York which was 2,400 miles away from LA -based Tom.

The actor has been accused of putting his religion before his daughter, with ex-Scientologists claiming he has been ordered to shun Katie and Suri as non-believers.

High-profile former church member Samantha Domingo, daughter-in-law of opera singer Placido, spoke about the religion in 2019.

Suri Cruise couldn’t stop smiling while on her phone recently in New York City. The famous daughter of Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise was spotted in the busy city with her eyes locked on her cell phone and an adorable smile.

Suri, who will turn 18 next month in April, looked unbothered as she walked down the street. Whoever she was texting certainly knew how to make her laugh. She showed off her unique fashion sense, following in the footsteps of her fashionable mom . She wore what looked like a long floral dress with fun printed black stockings, comfortable sneakers, and a denim coat over a white sweater.

Suri, who recently wore pastels, accessorized with a large over-the-shoulder bag. In her hands were a bag of pretzels because snacking is essential.

The 17-year-old is not publicly on social media, and aside from paparazzi photos, lives a relatively private, low-key lifestyle. Holmes will share updates about her from time to time, but nothing major.

With Suri officially becoming an adult next month, it will be interesting to see if anything changes. She may decide to go public with a social media account or share her career goals.

For now, it seems like her education is coming first. She reportedly attends the private school Avenues and is getting ready for college, where she wants to study fashion.

A source told DailyMail in March 2023, “Suri is applying to schools all over the place,” but she is leaning towards a school in NYC. “[Katie] really does want her to stay in New York so they can be close to each other. Katie takes great pride in her but is also extremely overprotective,” the insider explained.

According to the outlet, Tom agreed to pay Katie $400,000 a year until Suri turned 18 years old. But the divorce documents state he agreed to pay for her education, college, and other extracurricular costs. “Tom has always maintained his responsibilities when it comes to financial obligations to Katie and Suri,” a source told the outlet; however, he reportedly has no part in her life.

The daughter of Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes was seen in a summery ensemble making her way down a street, chatting with her friend during a candid moment. The 16-year-old star has been carrying out typical teenage antics as of late. From walking her dog  to hanging with her mother, Cruise has been busy having fun in youthful styles.

The young star wore a white dress with thin spaghetti straps that she gave a youthful spin in sneakers. The breezy style was embroidered with colorful flowers and plants on the bodice and near the hem of the skirt that added a nice pop of color to the otherwise simple piece.

Cruise slung a cream-colored tote bag over her shoulder and wore her dark brown hair down in a casual style. The star accessorized minimally with a dainty gold pendant necklace, keeping the outfit simple and easy. Cruise’s friend wore a similar style of summer dress in black and also wore gold jewelry.

Cruise has a particularly easy-going style that prioritizes comfort and slightly slouchy silhouettes, much like her mother. While in SoHo on April 26, Cruise wore a gray hoodie with long sleeves. The outerwear was accented with bold pink lines around the cuffs and on the hem. The top also had zipper detailing and side slant pockets. Sticking to a chill vibe, Cruise paired the hooded sweatshirt with baggy denim jeans.

On April 18, 2006, Suri Cruise was born in Santa Monica, California, to Hollywood superstar couple Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes, at the time publicly known as " TomKat ." Holmes had been previously told Seventeen magazine  that she "used to think that I was going to marry Tom Cruise," so the public became enchanted as Holmes and Cruise, over the course of a year and some enthusiastic couch-jumping, eventually did begin to date in 2005. The couple quickly become engaged and announced they were expecting a child together in October 2005, according to  People . Cruise was reportedly so excited that he even  bought a sonogram machine in order to see baby Suri in utero.

The name Suri, according to Cruise in an interview with  Vanity Fair , came from a baby-naming book, and means "red rose."  CBS News reported that Suri was born weighing 7 pounds, 7 ounces, and measuring 20 inches long. 

"It was everything that we wanted it to be," Cruise said in an interview days after the birth with "20/20's" Deborah Roberts (via  ABC News ). "It was spiritual. It was powerful. It was indescribable. What words can you use? It's still something that I'm processing and keep reliving."

She was the most special guest at her parents' wedding

Suri was the guest of honor at Cruise and Holmes' wedding on November 18, 2006. The new parents shared nuptials in a star-studded ceremony inside the 15th-century Italian Odescalchi Castle outside Rome (per  Us Weekly ). The lavish celebration reportedly cost upwards of $3 million , and featured a dinner serenade by Andrea Bocelli, and not one but two Armani wedding gowns worn by Holmes throughout the night. 

According to Hello! Magazine , Katie wore one of the two gowns as she arrived to the castle, carrying a 7-month-old Suri. The celebrity guest list included Will and Jada Pinkett Smith, David and Victoria Beckham, Jennifer Lopez, Marc Anthony, and Leah Remini. According to E! Online , also in attendance were Cruise's two older kids  Connor and Isabella (whom he adopted with Nicole Kidman); Holmes' maid of honor, her sister Nancy Blaylock; and Cruise's best man, Scientology leader David Miscavige.

Throughout the course of their six-year marriage, Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes became persistent tabloid icons — as did Suri Cruise. The family had the constant attention of paparazzi , whether they were walking down the street for a family outing in NYC or on the red carpet while promoting a film release. 

Suri quickly became a style icon — even before she could walk. What happened to Suri during TomKat's divorce?

Tom and Katie called it quits in the summer of 2012. According to CBS News , Cruise said he "didn't expect" Holmes to file for divorce. He received the news while on set for his film, "Oblivion," per  People . Proceedings moved swiftly, and the couple reached a settlement after just 11 days (per InStyle ). Holmes was awarded primary custody of Suri in the divorce, with Cruise gaining visitation rights. While Holmes did not receive spousal support in the settlement with Cruise, according to The Hollywood Reporter , Suri is set to receive $400,000 in child support per year until her 18th birthday. Cruise is also required to pay for Suri's expenses, including medical, dental, insurance, education, college and other extracurricular costs.

"We are committed to working together as parents to accomplish what is in our daughter Suri's best interests," a joint statement read (via  The Hollywood Reporter ). "We want to keep matters affecting our family private and express our respect for each other's commitment to each of our respective beliefs and support each other's roles as parents."

Suri has a complicated relationship with father Tom Cruise

Tom and Suri Cruise haven't been seen in public together since a visit to Disneyland in 2012, as reported by Yahoo . According to Us Weekly , the "Mission: Impossible" leading man has the right to see his daughter up to ten days a month, but chooses not to, allegedly because of Holmes and Suri's distance from the Church of Scientology. According to Huff Post , Tom admitted that post-divorce, Holmes and Suri were no longer practicing Scientologists. 

In a deposition with Bauer Media, Cruise was asked whether he and the church considered Holmes a " Suppressive Person ," or someone who tries to keep others down. "That is a distortion and a simplification of the matter. I don't want to just give an oversimplification of religious doctrine," Cruise said. According to Scientology expert Rick Ross, Church followers are taught to avoid Suppressive Persons (SPs) and "Potential Trouble Sources," (PTS). "Tom Cruise would not want to come in contact with an SP. And if he views his daughter as a PTS, which is very likely, he would not be that excited about dealing with her either," Ross told  Hollywood Life .

In June 2014, InTouch  reported that Cruise had not seen or spoken to his daughter in 1,000 days. In April 2019, an insider told Hollywood Life that Tom "still loves" Suri and that "Tom never intended to be estranged from his daughter," and "looks forward to repairing the relationship one day."

Suri Cruise and Katie Holmes delight in mother-daughter bonding

After the divorce, Katie Holmes was granted primary custody, and immediately uprooted Suri Cruise from California to NYC. According to the  NY Daily News , Holmes enrolled Suri, then 6 years old, in first grade at Avenues, a Chelsea private school with a $40,000 tuition. In an interview with InStyle , Holmes opened up and confessed that the time post-divorce was "intense" as a newly single mom. "It was a lot of attention, and I had a little child on top of it. We had some funny moments out and about in public. So many people I didn't know became my friends and helped us out, and that's what I love about the city," Holmes said. 

While Suri's digital presence is highly curated and limited, even on Holmes' own Instagram , the mother-daughter duo doesn't hold back when it comes to displaying their  close relationship during public appearances. Suri and her mom have been seen at each others' hips at events such as the Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards  and the Z100 Jingle Ball introducing Taylor Swift, and have even been spotted strutting the streets of Manhattan wearing matching outfits . 

"I was happy to become a mum in my twenties. It's been nice that our ages fit ... how do I put this? Every age that my child has been and my age at that time has been a good match. We kind of grew up together," Holmes said in an interview with Elle . 

She's been called 'one of Hollywood's most iconic teens'

Through glimpses of Suri's life on her mom's Instagram page, we can tell she's already becoming a  stylish and confident young lady. The proud mama shared a rare video on her Instagram of Suri in black-and-white bounding through an empty street. In an interview with " Today ," Katie Holmes said her parenting secret for raising a down-to-earth teen is to "listen" to her daily and "reward her for hard work." 

"I do a lot to put perspective on life," Holmes said. "We help out the homeless. We do small acts of kindness. I don't over-gift. I don't inundate my child with a lot of things. We're trying to raise good humans and some days we're better at it than others. We just focus on what she's passionate about and how you feel when you achieve your goals." She quarantined with mom in NYC during the pandemic

Katie Holmes said she and Suri Cruise were in and out of New York during the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic in the spring of 2020, according to Yahoo Entertainment . The duo remained quarantined in their NYC apartment during lockdown. Holmes even shared a candid photo of Suri celebrating her 14th birthday on her Instagram . "This lockdown has had a lot of silver linings. It was a beautiful moment. I think when you have less, you are more creative," Holmes told " Entertainment Tonight " in an interview. "This year has also been a reminder that the simple things are really beautiful and that is, those are the gifts of life," she said. 

In an interview with  Yahoo Entertainment , Holmes was asked about how she felt about Suri (and her NYC classmates) possibly re-entering school in a post-COVID pandemic environment. "I want everyone to be safe as possible," she said. "It's a hard one: I have no expertise on this in terms of health measures, but I just want to be as smart as possible for the whole community and to really prevent anyone from getting sick. According to Hollywood Life , Suri Cruise is looking more and more like her mom Katie Holmes every day — and becoming a Gen-Z style icon. During a visit to the Harry Potter store in the Flatiron district of Manhattan, Suri and friends were seen rocking Slytherin house colors and bringing back 2000s clothing staples like floral midi skirts and converse sneakers (possibly raiding her mom's "Dawson Creek" character Joey Potter's closet?). This wasn't the first time the young starlet stepped out in vintage threads: She's been spotted bringing low rider flare jeans back in style, too (per Hollywood Life ). Holmes and Suri's mother-daughter bond is still going strong as well, with Momma Holmes showing off their adventures in tie-dye together on Instagram . 

"I love her so much. My biggest goal has always been to nurture her into her individuality. To make sure she is 100 percent herself and strong, confident, and able. And to know it. She came out very strong — she's always been a strong personality. She'll pick an activity and work her butt off until she's really good at it. Then she's like, 'OK, I'm going to try the next thing.' She's very focused and a hard worker," Holmes said in an interview with InStyle . 

Suri celebrates her sweet sixteenth

Suri Cruise celebrated her sweet sixteenth birthday in April 2022. The teen still keeps a low profile online, but every now and then proud mom Katie Holmes will send out a loving post on Instagram to celebrate with fans. Holmes' last Instagram  post featuring Suri was for her daughter's birthday the year before, with the caption, "Happy 15th Birthday Sweetheart! I love you!!!!!!!! I can't believe you are already 15!"

Nevertheless, witnessing her daughter transform and grow over the years hasn't always been easy for Katie Holmes. "Every day, kids get a little further away from you," she told Town & Country (via HuffPost ). "That's a positive thing. They should be becoming more independent, but it's heartbreaking." She continued, saying, "You want them to stay with you forever, but they're these amazing beings, and you have to do everything you can to give them what they need ― and then they're going to go. In June 2022, Katie Holmes introduced Suri to her new boyfriend, Bobby Wooten III (via  Stylecaster ). According to Elle , Wooten, a musician and composer, made his public debut as a couple with Holmes in May at The Moth's 25th Anniversary gala, The Silver Ball, held at Spring Studios in New York City. It's reported that Holmes is helping Suri with applications, while the only input her estranged father Tom Cruise will have is paying the college tuition costs as per the divorce agreement between him and Holmes.

Fashion school seems like the perfect choice for Suri, as she was already dishing out fashion advice to her mom at the age of four. "Like today I'm wearing brown suede pants, and [Suri] said, 'I don't like your pants.' But then she'll say, 'You've got to wear these shoes.' Or 'That's so pretty, Mom. Wear that.' She's got a great eye," Holmes told Elle in 2011 (via People ). Suri's interest in fashion no doubt stems from her mother, whose name these days is more synonymous with fashion than it is acting. But one person who wasn't impressed with Suri's style was "Project Runway" host Tim Gunn. "She's her mother and father's dress up doll and I feel in many ways she's a fashion victim," he told Access (via Today ) in 2010. He also said of Suri's famous toddler-sized high heels, "It's really inappropriate."

The Daily Mail published photos of Suri pouting as she was seemingly told that she couldn't take home an adorable puppy from Citipup in NYC. She reportedly left the pet store in tears, and just think of the life of luxury that poor pup missed out on when Katie Holmes taught her daughter that she can't have everything that she wants.

It turns out that Holmes couldn't hold out forever. However, she decided to adopt, not shop, when she allowed Suri to welcome a new fur baby into their home in 2014. Unfortunately, Suri's rescue Chihuahua, Honey, went missing mere weeks after her adoption. According to TMZ , Honey escaped through a gate while Suri was swimming with her at the Beverly Hills home of a friend. Desperate to be reunited with her beloved dog, Suri put posters up in the neighborhood promising a reward of $1,000 for her safe return.

Don't worry — this lost pet story has a happy ending. The employees of a local dog rescue found the lucky pooch just a few days after she went missing, per TMZ , and as of 2020, Suri was still being a responsible dog owner by taking Honey and another cute canine out for walks.

She discovered a passion for performing

By age three, Suri Cruise had already started taking tap dancing and ballet lessons. "I think she's going to do a lot of different things. "I'm not like, 'You need to watch mommy's work.'" (Remember, Holmes used to date her co-star Joshua Jackson, so that had to add an extra layer of weirdness to Suri's viewing experience.) Some teens might react to watching their mom pretend to fall in love and lust by becoming unbearably embarrassed, but Holmes recalled, "We had a good laugh about it."

Before Suri decided to check out a TV time capsule of the late '90s and early aughts, she became a big fan of a far different entertainment genre: movie musicals. One of her favorites starred a famous Scientologist who was not her father. "My daughter has seen ["Hairspray"] 15 times," Tom Cruise told the Los Angeles Times in 2011. Suri also loved watching the 1999 made-for-TV "Annie" movie. Recalling a conversation he had with Holmes, one of the film's stars, Victor Garber, said to People (via Huffpost ), "She's seen it sixty times because of her daughter."

Katie Holmes' relationship with Suri Cruise is the stuff that dramedies about an unbreakable mother-daughter bond are made of. "I love her so much," Holmes told InStyle (via People ). "My biggest goal has always been to nurture her into her individuality. To make sure she is 100 percent herself and strong, confident, and able."

Holmes and Suri are pretty inseparable. They've attended many Broadway shows together, including "Cats" and "Finding Neverland," and sometimes Holmes takes her daughter backstage to meet the casts of the plays. Don't think for a second that Suri is growing out of wanting to spend time with her mom, either; she was photographed helping Holmes celebrate her 45th birthday in 2023.

When Holmes opens up about what she and Suri enjoy doing together, she often describes activities they do at home. In a 2013 Us Weekly interview, she shared that she and Suri like to make their own bouquets for Valentine's Day, and she told Amazing Magazine (via the Daily Mail ) that they cooked and worked on quilts during lockdown. She and Suri even exercise together sometimes. "But I don't force her to work out with me because I know that's lame," Holmes said in a 2022 interview with Shape . In addition to being Suri's bestie, Holmes tries to be a good mom by leading by example. She told People , "Between tickle fights and glitter art, I try to throw in some manners along the way."

Katie Holmes showed off her sense of style alongside her lookalike daughter, Suri Cruise , as the two enjoyed an outing together in NYC on Friday. 

The Dawson's Creek actress, 45 - who recently turned heads in a lace ensemble at the star-studded Michael Kors runway show - flashed a cheerful smile while strolling next to the 17-year-old in the Big Apple. 

The star notably shares Suri with her ex-husband Tom Cruise - whom she was married to from 2006 until their divorce was finalized in 2012. 

Holmes donned a pair of loose-fitting, dark denim trousers as well as a striped button up and gray-patterned sweater to help her stay warm in the cooler temperatures. 

She layered the ensemble with a green jacket that she opted to leave unzipped at the front.

The mother-of-one wore a pair of black and white-striped, Adidas sneakers to help her stay comfortable during the daytime excursion. 

Katie added a cap on top of her head that partially covered her long, brunette locks that fell down straight past her shoulders. 

The star chose to not add any flashy pieces of jewelry to the outfit, and opted to not carry a heavy purse or handbag with her. 

Her mini-me daughter - who will turn 18 later this year in April - sported a black velvet dress which was worn on top of a white shirt. 

Suri also added a denim jacket on top and completed the ensemble by slipping into  a pair of brown cowboy boots. 

The pair were seen strolling along a busy sidewalk in the city while holding a lighthearted conversation with each other. 

Earlier this week on Monday, the mother daughter duo were also spotted enjoying quality time on a relaxing walk  while wearing denim looks. 

Late last year in December, it was revealed that Suri has been getting ready for college and plans to attend a school in Fall 2024.

A source told DailyMail.com at the time that the 17-year-old has been 'leaning towards' staying in New York City to study fashion. 

'Suri is applying to schools all over the place. [Katie] really does want her to stay in New York so they can be close to each other.'

'Katie takes great pride in her but is also extremely overprotective,' the insider continued, while adding that the actress is 'overwhelmed' by the idea of Suri going to college. 

The star opened up about her protectiveness over her daughter while talking to Glamour last year in April. 

'What has been really important for me with my daughter, because she was so visible at a young age, is I really like to protect her.' 

The First Daughter actress further expressed, 'I'm very grateful to be a parent, to be her parent. She's an incredible person.' 

Holmes also discussed Suri showing off her vocal skills in two of her recent films that she directed: Alone Together (2022) and Rare Objects (2023). 'I hope she always does something on my films. I always ask her.' 

'But both of those experiences came out of the same sense of what I love about our industry, which is, you have these projects and you become a family with people.'

However, he will also pay his daughter's college tuition, DailyMail.com previously learned, despite being absent from Suri's life since 2013.

Katie slipped into a pair of open-toed, white heels and carried a white clutch bag in her hand for a final touch. The star added a bold red tint to her lips that added a pop of color to the monochromatic look.

'90s chic! Suri Cruise looked just like her gorgeous mom Katie as she went for a casual stroll with a gal pal.

Suri Cruise stayed cool in the New York City heatwave with a linen dress! The stylish teen, now 16, was spotted out and about in the breezy white number adorned with a subtle flower pattern on Thursday, August 4. She kept the summer white theme going with a casual tote bag on her shoulder and a well-loved pair of comfy sneakers. Suri was joined by a female friend, wearing a black dress, shoulder bag and sneakers as they explored the Big Apple.

The teen is looking so much like her gorgeous mom Katie Holmes , 43, with her brunette hair and features! Suri is Katie’s only daughter, who she shares with ex-husband  Tom Cruise , 60, from their six year marriage. The A-Listers tied the knot in 2006 after a brief whirlwind romance, but split in 2012.

Earlier this week, Suri stepped out in another simple white dress . The boho chic number was also perfect for the humid NYC weather, which was hitting the 90s just a few days ago. She added a dash of color to the look with a cool pair of bright blue high-top sneakers by Converse. Hanging onto her phone, she turned the streets of the city into her very own runway as she strolled with confidence.

Suri has been spending more and more time out solo as she’s getting older. The teenager, who attends an elite Manhattan private school, seems to be an expert at getting around the city she’s called home for over a decade. Last month, she was spotted in the trendy Flatiron District as she and a blonde pal checked out the immersive Harry Potter New York store . The store retails all sorts of merchandise from the Wizarding World (including attire from all four Hogwarts Houses), and also includes 3D experiences and a popular non-alcoholic Butterbeer Bar. Suri and her friend beelined right for the sweet treat, opting for the soft serve ice cream which they enjoyed outdoors.

The 17-year-old daughter of Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise went for a stroll around New York City on Tuesday wearing her Maje Western-style shearling coat ( $2,695 $1,347). She paired the pricey outwear with cozy-looking drawstring pants and celebrity-beloved Birkenstock suede clogs ($160).

Suri carried her favorite water bottle throughout the jaunt with a friend and did not appear to be recognized by passersby as they enjoyed their day on the town.

The Hollywood scion previously wore the jacket while out with Holmes, 45, to whom she looks identical. The “Dawson’s Creek” alum wore an oversize denim jacket during the February outing to complement her daughter’s jeans.

It appears Suri has more in common with her mom than just appearances, as Page Six broke the news in December that the progeny earned a starring role in her school’s play.

We heard Suri played Morticia Addams in “The Addams Family: A New Musical.”

“She was amazing,” one impressed audience member told us, adding that Suri did not name-drop her famous parents in her bio.

Instead, she graciously thanked her teachers, fellow student cast and the crew who worked behind the scenes of the production.

Suri reportedly has been estranged from her “Top Gun: Maverick” star father since he and Holmes finalized their divorce in August 2012.

The “Thank You for Smoking” actress received sole custody of Suri, with Cruise getting visitation rights.

“Life is a challenge,” Cruise, 61, said a year after the divorce . “To be 50 and have experiences and think you have everything under control, and then it hits you — that’s what life is. … Life is tragicomic. You need a certain sense of humor.”
