Our top 5 things to do in New Zealand

From the tip of the North Island to the tail of the South Island, there is no shortage of things to do in New Zealand to keep you occupied. These are just a few of the remarkable moments we'll share with you during our time in NZ.

Auckland War Memorial Museum, Auckland

The iconic exterior only hints at the unique and extensive collection within. The museum houses a large selection of historical artefacts that showcase the rich and brutal history of New Zealand and the Pacific, as well as over 1.5 million natural history specimens.

The Great War Exhibition, Wellington

Constructed as a passion project by director Sir Peter Jackson, the Great War Exhibition tells the story of New Zealanders who fought and lived through the First World War. Although the exhibition includes many original artefacts, the life-sized sets and colorized black and white photos are standouts.

Christchurch

Christchurch Art Gallery Te Puna O Waiwhetu, Christchurch

Housing a substantial art collection, The Christchurch Art Gallery Te Puna o Waiwhetū also runs a rotating programme of local and international exhibitions. Don't miss their late-night tours, which are not only free but one of the best ways to visit the gallery.

Best museums in New Zealand

By exploring New Zealand's museums and art galleries, you can get a unique perspective on the origins of this dynamic, proud country. These are just of the museums we'll share with you to peel back layers of the country.

Mince and cheese pie

Gaining popularity in the 1970s, this unique pie has layers of melted cheese just under the crispy outer crust that take the typical pastry to new heights. Find these hand-sized pastries at cafés, bakeries, and supermarkets, and local bakeries where they're baked fresh every day.

Kiwi burger

Dreamt up in 1976, the Kiwi burger contains all the usual fixings; a fresh beef patty, lettuce, tomato, cheese, onions and tomato sauce with some unique extras like beetroot, crispy egg and mustard. Although tasty burgers are available at most burger chains in New Zealand, there are cult stores that plate them up to five-star standards.

Lemon & Paeroa (L&P)

With carbonated water from Paeroa and fresh local lemon juice, New Zealand's L&P drink is a refreshing and popular way to cool down and energize. For an extra kick, the infamous Lemon & Paeroa drink is a popular cocktail base in many parts of New Zealand.

Best food in New Zealand

New Zealand easily tempts the tastebuds with its fresh, local and tasty cuisine. From savoury treats to sparkling citrusy drinks, our New Zealand trips will ensure you leave with a full and satisfied stomach.

With so many unforgettable views, make sure you pack a camera (and a spare memory card) to ensure you get the best shots. New Zealand's endlessly photographic surrounds are worth printing and framing.

Whether you're heading to New Zealand's mountains to ski or the beaches for a swim, you may need seasonal essentials. Consider warm clothes and swimwear to make the most of your New Zealand trips.

Small portable charger

With so much to see and do in New Zealand, your devices are likely to wear down quite quickly. Keep a portable charger on hand to make sure your devices are ready when you are.

About Booking This Tour

Travel Documents

If you are a U.S. citizen traveling internationally , you will need a passport valid for at least six months beyond your intended stay for entry into New Zealand. A visa is not required.

In order to enter New Zealand, you must apply for an ETA (Electronic Travel Authority.) Information for New Zealand's ETA can be found at  https://nzeta.immigration.govt.nz .  Please Note:  You must obtain your ETA(s) at least 60 days (but not more than 90 days) in advance of your arrival in each country.

Please Note:  A separate ETA is required for both Australia and New Zealand, if your Tauck journey includes both destinations.

An ETA to New Zealand may be obtained with a smart phone. Please be sure to first remove your phone case and have your phone's Bluetooth connection turned on.  Note:  You may also use website-based forms to apply for a New Zealand ETA, but this is not recommended as the application procedure is more involved and processing times are not guaranteed.

REQUIRED TRAVEL DOCUMENTS – NEW ZEALAND: Citizens of the U.S., Canada, the U.K. and other countries will require both a passport and an Electronic Travel Authority, or eTA, in order in enter New Zealand. The eTA is an electronic visa waiver, and it is valid for two years.

In New Zealand. For a list of countries and to apply — please visit  https://nzeta.immigration.govt.nz .

To install the ETA app (for New Zealand):  On your smart phone, search the Google Play Store (android) or the App Store (iPhone) for the Australian ETA app. Install the app. Once the app is installed, open it and follow the app's instructions. Using your phone, the app will scan and capture an image of your face and images from your passport, and connect with an electronic chip in your passport using NFC (Near-Field Communication) technology. Most smart phones are NFC-equipped, but if yours is not, you should be able to download an NFC reader from the Google Play or the App Store for a nominal fee.  Please Note : There is a per-person fee of $6 U.S. ($9 NZD) to apply for your New Zealand ETA, as well as an additional per-person fee of $24 U.S. ($35 NZD) for New Zealand's International Visitor Conservation and Tourism Levy.

If you are a citizen of another country traveling internationally,  you should contact an embassy or consulate of Australia to determine what travel documentation is required.

We recommend that you make at least two photocopies of all the travel documents that you bring with you. Include copies of the photo page of your passport that contains the date of issuance, the date of expiration and your citizenship. Secure one set of copies in the safe in your room while traveling and leave one set behind with someone at home who will assist you in the event your documents are misplaced, lost or stolen.

To facilitate Travel Requirements, destinations are increasingly utilizing online forms that require digital proof that you've successfully completed your submission (via an email, QR code, etc.) To ensure smooth travels and peace of mind, we strongly recommend all guests carry a personal smart phone and sign up for international data plans before traveling overseas.

TRAVELING WITH CHILDREN AS A GUARDIAN: If you are traveling as the guardian of a child/children, we strongly suggest that you carry a letter from both parents of the child authorizing emergency treatment in the event of illness or accident. For travel abroad, many foreign countries have specific entry requirements for children under 21 who are traveling internationally without BOTH parents. You may have coverage from other sources that provides you with similar benefits but may be subject to different restrictions depending upon your other coverages. You may wish to compare the terms of this policy with your existing life, health, home and automobile policies. If you have any questions about your current coverage, call your insurer, insurance agent or broker.

This optional Guest Protection must be requested at time of booking and fee must be included with initial payment. Fees are based on costs as of July 1, 2021, and are subject to change. Details will be provided with written confirmation of your tour reservation. Guest Protection does not protect travel agent commissions. Reimbursements will be made according to original method of payment. The amount of any refund shall be reduced by any recoveries obtained by you from any third parties.

The Guest Protection plan waives cancellation fees outlined below, provided we are notified of cancellation before your tour departs. Tour cancellation fees are waived regardless of reason, without written notice, and Tauck will refund land tour cost.

Travel Requirements For This Tour

Air Information and Luggage Restrictions

AIRFARE: Airfare to and from this destination is not included in the journey cost. If purchasing your air elsewhere, it is very important to provide us with your confirmed arriving and departing flight information no later than 3 weeks before your arrival date. Flight information can be submitted to Tauck (or verified, if you've already provided it) in the My Account section of Tauck.com.

TAUCK AIRPORT TRANSFERS are included at the start and end of the journey between the airport and the Tauck hotel. Airport transfers are available for any pre tour or post tour hotel stays immediately consecutive to the tour, providing flight information is received in the Tauck office no later than three weeks in advance. Details on locating your transfer upon arrival to the tour start city will be included in your final documents.

AIRLINES and CHECKED LUGGAGE: Due to space limitations during your Tauck journey, we ask that you please limit your checked luggage to one average-size suitcase per person. Besides complying with the Tauck restriction noted above, you should also be sure to research and comply with all airline baggage restrictions relating to your flights to and from your Tauck journey. Airlines have become much more strict in enforcing size and weight limits in recent years, and are free to revise luggage policies without notice. Researching and complying with airline luggage restrictions is the responsibility of the guest, and Tauck cannot be held responsible for any costs or disruptions to travel caused by the failure to research and comply with airline policies. PLEASE NOTE that if you are booked on a tour that includes on-tour flights, the checked luggage weight restrictions for these flights may be lower than the weight restrictions for your international flights.

Specific Luggage Restrictions for this Tour

Due to strictly enforced weight restrictions, checked luggage weight must not exceed 50 pounds (23 kg) and with overall dimensions (length + width + height) not exceeding 62 inches (158 cm). Luggage exceeding the allowable weight is subject to excess luggage charges which can result in a considerable additional expense. Guests are permitted to only 1 piece of checked luggage. Hand luggage may not weigh more than 15 lbs (6.8 kg), and the maximum dimensions are 20 x 15 x 10" (50.8 x 38.1 x 25.4cm) (including all wheels, handles, etc). If these dimensions are exceeded, the carry-on may be checked at the gate. Airport regulations require that passengers handle their own luggage through customs.

Besides complying with the Tauck restriction noted above, you should also be sure to research and comply with all airline baggage restrictions relating to your flights to and from your Tauck journey. Airlines have become much more strict in enforcing size and weight limits in recent years, and luggage exceeding airline standards for size or weight may result in expensive overage fees or other consequences.

Airlines are free to revise luggage policies without notice, and certain airlines have different baggage allowances for different classes of service. Researching and complying with airline luggage restrictions is the responsibility of the guest, and Tauck cannot be held responsible for any costs or disruptions to travel caused by the failure to research and comply with airline policies.

For your day-to-day travel while on tour, we recommend that you limit your hand luggage to a small, soft-sided carry-on piece, and that you bring only those items you need handy during the day such as make-up, medications, cameras, film, etc. Items too large to fit under the motor coach seat or on the overhead rack must be stored in the luggage bays beneath the motor coach, and may be inaccessible during daytime travel.

Tauck luggage tags will be provided by your Tauck Director on Day 1 of your itinerary. Please do not attach a Tauck luggage tag to any carry-on items, as the Tauck tags designate luggage that is to be handled and transferred by ground operators and hotel staff during your journey.

Health, Safety and Mobility

HEALTH CONSIDERATIONS

f you have a medical condition that might limit your participation in activities, please consult your physician for pre-departure health advice and notify us as soon as possible, if you have not already done so. We will advise your Tauck Director accordingly.

Please check with your health insurance provider to determine whether you are covered while traveling. If you will not be covered under your current policy, we strongly suggest that you arrange for adequate coverage while on tour.

VACCINATIONS

If you are a resident of the U.S. traveling internationally,  no vaccinations are currently required for entry into New Zealand; however, an International Certificate of Vaccination for Yellow Fever is required when entering Australia if you arrive from an infected area within 5 days. For complete vaccination information, contact your physician, the public health service in your area, or the U.S. Centers for Disease Control (CDC) in Atlanta, Georgia. You may also log on to the CDC Internet website by clicking here .

If you are a resident of another country traveling internationally , please contact an embassy or consulate of New Zealand to determine what vaccinations may be required for your travel.

You should be in good health and able to walk moderate to significant distances over varied terrain. Some of the most memorable sightseeing can only be accomplished on foot. Pack sturdy, comfortable walking shoes that have already been broken-in in order to appreciate fully the challenging terrain of the beaches, rainforests and outback.

AN IMPORTANT NOTE ON SUPPLEMENTAL OXYGEN AND MOBILITY ISSUES:  This Tauck itinerary cannot accommodate oxygen tanks, wheelchairs or motorized scooters.  Oxygen tanks are strictly prohibited in many foreign countries on regional flights aboard small aircraft, such as those intra-tour flights featured on this Tauck journey.  Likewise, the very limited cargo capacity on such flights prohibits the transport of wheelchairs or motorized scooters.

Guests should also bear in mind that the infrastructure in many foreign countries, particularly in developing countries, often presents severe and even insurmountable challenges for those with walking difficulties or other mobility issues. The responsibility of the Tauck Director is to ensure that the larger group enjoys a relaxing and informative journey, and he or she cannot be relied upon to provide ongoing individual assistance to any one guest. Guests requiring such individualized assistance must be accompanied by an able-bodied companion who can provide it.

SPECIAL DIETARY REQUESTS

The restaurants, hotels, caterers and numerous other partners we work with all do their best to accommodate special dietary requests from Tauck guests. However, given the diverse nature of those food providers (from small wineries to grand hotels to world-famous restaurants in more than 70 countries worldwide), some of our partners are better able than others to accommodate such requests. We therefore cannot guarantee that all dietary requests can be accommodated at every meal. Also, please note that where dietary requests can be accommodated, choices will frequently be limited.

To protect people from the health effects of second-hand smoke, smoking in all hospitality venues, including bars, restaurants, cafés, and casinos, is prohibited in New Zealand. If you smoke, please remember to smoke outside.

Airline Disinsection

Please check with your carrier or refer to the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) guidance letter that requires airlines and travel agents to disclose to consumers countries that require the use of insecticides by airlines. Please click  here for more information.

Reading List

We have compiled a reading list of recommended books to give you more information about the destinations you will be traveling to on your upcoming journey!

You can view the reading list  here.

The seasons in New Zealand are opposite of those in the northern hemisphere. During the months of October through May, temperatures typically average 60-75 ºF (16-24 ºC) in New Zealand. During the months of June through September, temperatures average 50 ºF (10 ºC) in New Zealand.

To determine current weather conditions, we suggest you log on to the Internet website, noaa.gov, by clicking here.

What To Pack

If you are traveling in August or early September, it is towards the end of Australia and New Zealand's winter season. During this time period, you will experience vast temperature changes and may even encounter snow throughout parts of New Zealand. Please pack additional clothing for layering in colder climates, hats, gloves and heavier jackets.

As you prepare for travel "Down Under", select a wardrobe that is adaptable. Many days are spent outside or in transit. Therefore, during the day, casual, comfortable, cotton clothing is recommended. Occasionally cool weather will require warmer "layered" clothing.

For the welcome and farewell dinners, you may wish to dress more formally. On all other nights resort wear is suggested.

Laundry service, including self-service facilities in some hotels, is available on this tour. Additionally, all the hotel rooms are outfitted with hair dryers. Irons and ironing boards are available upon request.

We recommend that you pack an adequate supply of your prescription medication in its original container to last through your entire journey, together with a copy of your doctor's prescription, or a letter from your health-care provider on office stationery explaining that the medication has been prescribed for you, your travel documents and a change of clothing in your carry-on bag to avoid any inconvenience in the event that your flight or luggage is delayed.

We recommend you pack the following items for your journey:

  • Comfortable, cotton clothing
  • Resort wear
  • Sunglasses, sunhat and sunscreen
  • Light rain-repellent jacket
  • Insect repellent
  • Travel alarm/cell phone with alarm function (many hotels do not have clocks in the rooms)
  • Collapsible umbrella
  • A pair of sturdy, yet comfortable, pre-worn walking shoes for uneven terrain
  • Camera, film, memory cards, chargers, batteries and other photography accessories
  • Copies of your travel documents that should be secured in the safe in your hotel room while traveling

Please refer to the Necessary Gear website at  www.necessarygear.com  as one option available to you for renting and purchasing apparel, PPEs, and other items appropriate for your journey.

How do you get to the South Island?

Getting to the South Island is quite easy and time-efficient with two passenger airports in Christchurch and Queenstown offering several flights per day from popular destinations such as Auckland and Wellington. The price of flights can vary depending on which season you're travelling and which region/city you want to explore. Flying into Christchurch is generally cheaper than Queenstown, especially during ski season when the sleepy, snowy town comes to life. You can also catch the ferry from Wellington to Picton (located at the tip of the South Island) which takes roughly 3 and a half hours.

Is it easy to get around Queenstown?

It's fairly easy and reliable to get around Queenstown with a heap of different options available including public transport, car rentals, and walking. You can easily hire a car in Queenstown with several companies located in the city centre. There is also lots of parking available in Queenstown making it convenient to drive to different locations. You can also catch public transport via the local bus network with tickets starting at NZ$2. Queenstown is also relatively flat so walking is another good option, especially for taking in the beautiful scenery.

What's the weather like in Christchurch?

The climate in Christchurch is fairly even and dry throughout the year but temperatures in summer aren't likely to get hot while the temperatures in winter are quite cold. It's very unlikely to experience extreme heat in summer but relatively common for freezes to happen overnight during the winter months. Christchurch still gets sunny though with 2,100 hours of sunlight every year.

How do you get to the Bay of Islands?

It's relatively easy to get to the Bay of Islands from various locations within New Zealand. While the Bay of Islands region doesn't have an airport, there is an airport at Kerikeri which is only 23km away. It is easy to catch a flight from major cities such as Auckland, Wellington, and Queenstown, making it the most popular way to travel. You can also drive to the Bay of Islands or catch public transport via the InterCity bus services.

What's the best time to visit Wellington?

The weather in Wellington is often unpredictable and can change multiple times throughout the day. The city is also known for being very windy which is something to be aware of when you're planning outdoor activities such as cycling. However, the climate in Wellington is quite mild throughout the year with warm summers and cool winters, making it the perfect year-round destination.

Open spaces and lovely places

When traveling in New Zealand, it’s the rugged natural beauty that stands out: spectacular glaciers, picturesque fiords, endless coastlines, steamy geothermal activity and so much more. Its breathtaking landscapes combined with its unique Maori culture, friendly cosmopolitan cities and fabulous food and wine comprise the two remarkable islands the “Kiwis” lovingly call home. New Zealand, a haven for those seeking peace, rejuvenation and relaxation, also offers a veritable playground for the adventurous. The temperate climate makes it ideal for year-round New Zealand adventures.

Destination Must-See's

New Zealand ms1

Queenstown:

Queenstown is a resort town on New Zealand’s South Island. The city is built around an inlet called Queenstown Bay on Lake Wakatipu and has spectacular views of nearby mountains and the Southern Alps. The town’s economy is focused on tourism, especially adventure and ski tourism, boasting over 200 adventure tourism activities to take part in.

New Zealand ms2

It is the highest mountain in New Zealand at a staggering 12,218 feet in height. It lies in the Southern Alps, and is a part of Aoraki/Mt. Cook National Park. Mt. Cook is popular with mountain climbers who are looking for a challenge and is a popular destination for nature-lovers and casual hikers as well.

New Zealand ms3

This city lies on the North Island of New Zealand and is the largest and most populous area in the country. Roughly one third of New Zealand’s population resides here, dating back to the year 1350 when the Maori people populated the land that is known for being rich and fertile. It is now filled with parks, nature, and volcanic fields as well as home to a rich culture and a good quality of living.

New Zealand ms4

This coastal city is located in the Otago region and one of the Southern Hemisphere’s best-preserved Victorian and Edwardian cities. The urban area of Dunedin lies on the central-eastern coast of Otago, surrounded by the head of Otago harbor. Dunedin is known as the Edinburgh of the south because of its Scottish heritage.

Destination Must-Do's

Milford Sound 23

Milford Sound:

Home to rugged landscapes and all-natural beauty, Milford Sound is described by some as the Eighth Wonder of the World. This breathtaking region is situated on the west coast of the South Island and features towering peaks, cascading waterfalls, and surreal views to all who visit. Among the surrounding peaks, travelers will witness “The Elephant,” resembling an elephant’s head, at 4,977 feet tall; and “The Lion,” resembling a crouching lion, at 4,272 feet tall.

New Zealand md2

TranzAlpine Train:

All aboard the TranzAlpine Train as it travels from Auckland to Greymouth on New Zealand’s west coast. It is said to be one of the most scenic train rides in the world. The journey runs once a day with an approximate travel time of 4 1/2 hours. This region is known as glacier country and features many natural treasures including glaciers, beaches, wetlands, lakes, mountains and forests of national parks.

Bay Islands CoOp 23

Bay of Islands:

As a subtropical micro-region, known for both stunning scenery and deep rooted history, the Bay of Islands has a lot to offer travelers. In the past, these waters were once full of ship deserters, sailors, whalers, ex-convicts, and other rogues – but now the Bay of Islands is a tranquil vacation destination. Among the 144 islands that dot the warm South Pacific Bay is the famous “Hole in the Rock.” Etched over time by wind in waves, the “hole” is large enough to travel through by boat when the tide is just right.

New Zealand md4

Visit this town in the Southland region, located on the eastern shore of Lake Te Anau, the largest lake on the South Island. The town borders on the Fiordland National Park, and is home to many species of bird life. It is the perfect place for a hike or bird watching excursion.

Expert Advice

You must try world-renowned New Zealand lamb. Tasty lamb dishes are found on nearly every menu, and what better accompaniment than a glass of the country’s celebrated wine – Sauvignon Blanc, Syrah, or Pinot Noir.

New Zealande2

Be sure to keep an eye out for products made from jade, the gorgeous "greenstone.” The stone is important to the Maori who call it 'pounamu.' Maori jade carvings each have their own meaning to the people and make beautiful pendants.

You should probably know that Kiwis are obsessed with Rugby. They don’t just like it, they are crazy about it! Their national team is the All Blacks and you can find their gear for sale almost everywhere. So you may want to pick up a hat or t-shirt and become an honorary fan.

New Zealand tour reviews

Contiki was the best 2-and-a-bit weeks of my life. We had the most INCREDIBLE tour manager and coach driver who made the trip so memorable. We travelled almost the whole of New Zealand in just over 2 weeks, did every activity under the sun, met the most amazing friends who are now family , and I just cannot put into words how thankful I am for this experience.

- Nikita Jade, Kiwiana Panorama

Contiki was the perfect way to see New Zealand. So many great unique experiences. Nick and Mads couldn’t have been any better at their roles. Would 100% recommend.

- Flynn Coaker, The Big Tiki

This was a trip of a lifetime. If you’re thinking about doing it, DO IT! You won’t regret it. Everything was so well organised and the group were awesome - friends for life. I had an absolute blast. 10 out of 10 would do again!

The classic meat pie usually contains New Zealand lamb, considered the best lamb in the world. Soft meat meets rich gravy in a crumbly pastry case - what’s not to love?

A point of contention with the Aussies, New Zealand claim Pavlova as one of their national dishes . Whoever it belongs to, that chewy meringue and cloud-like cream is a match made in heaven.

Hokey Pokey Ice Cream

Potentially the best ice cream flavour ever. Vanilla ice cream rippled through with soft ‘hokey pokey’ (AKA cinder / honeycomb toffee). One scoop or four?

Best food in New Zealand

650 cars. 60 airplanes. 60,000 toys. Yep. That’s what you’ll see when you enter this massive museum in the charming little town of Wanaka. It’s truly a toy collector’s dream.

Top museums in New Zealand

Highlights of New Zealand

New Zealand was on my bucket list for years and did not disappoint. This tour covers a lot of ground and experiences that were wonderful. Most accommodations were clean and adequate-2 were way past due for an update (Presidents Hotel in Auckland and Heartland in Queenstown). The tour guides, Amy and Slim, were accommodating and informative. Just be prepared for the hectic pace --maybe add time on before and after this whirlwind tour of the best New Zealand has to offer!

New Zealand: Best of the North Island Tour

New Zealand: Best of the North Island

My group was phenomenal, we all had a blast together. Our guide was very communicative, using WhatsApp and a photo circle to share information, resources and photos. I’m not used to hopping hostels, so that was a bit rough, definitively pack light and try to be organized. I should have done a better job researching temperature as well - as it got much colder than I was expecting. Overall the trip was incredible and I did everything I wanted to do.

Kae Tempest shares full Australia and New Zealand tour dates for 2023

The spoken word artist will tour their album 'The Line Is A Curve' early next year

Kae Tempesty

Kae Tempest has announced their return to Australia and New Zealand, touring in February in support of their latest album, ‘The Line Is A Curve’.

  • READ MORE:  Kae Tempest on ‘The Line Is A Curve’: “It’s about raising your threshold for tolerance”

Tempest had already been announced on the line-up for next year’s Perth Festival and the Launceston edition of Mona Foma , as well as the Splore Festival in New Zealand. Today (November 9), the UK spoken-word artist has announced a full run of headlining shows, including their debut performance at the Sydney Opera House.

They will also perform in Canberra, Brisbane, Melbourne, Auckland and Wellington. A pre-sale for the new dates will start at 10am local time tomorrow (November 10). A general sale will then commence at the same time on Friday (November 11). Tickets for the New Zealand dates can be found here , while the Australian ones can be found here .

Tempest’s 2023 tour will mark their third tour of Australia and New Zealand. They first visited in 2016, touring their second solo album ‘Let Them Eat Chaos’, and again in early 2020 – shortly before the first COVID-19 lockdowns – in support of 2019’s ‘The Book Of Traps And Lessons’.

‘The Line Is A Curve’ was released back in April. It was preempted by the singles ‘More Pressure’ (featuring Kevin Abstract of BROCKHAMPTON ), ‘Salt Coast’ , ‘No Prizes’ (featuring Lianne La Havas ) and ‘Move’ (featuring Grian Chatten of Fontaines D.C. ). Since the album’s release, Tempest has also released a music video for the song ‘Don’t You Ever ‘.

In a four-star review of the album,  NME  described ‘The Line Is A Curve’ as “frequently dazzling”. “The process of letting go has resulted in a record on which an acclaimed voice can explore human emotion with more breadth and depth than ever before,” it read.

Kae Tempest’s Australia and New Zealand tour dates are:

FEBRUARY Wednesday 15 – Perth, The Rechabyte Friday 17 – Sydney, Opera House Concert Hall Saturday 18 – Launceston, Old Tafe Monday 20 – Canberra, Theatre Centre Playhouse Tuesday 21 – Brisbane, Powerhouse Theatre Wednesday 22 – Melbourne, Forum Theatre Friday 24 – Auckland, Powerstation Saturday 25 – Orere Point, Splore Festival Sunday 26 – Wellington, St. James Theatre

The weeknd cancels australia and new zealand tour.

Pip Christmass

The Weeknd has cancelled the Australia and New Zealand leg of his After Hours Til Dawn tour.

Ticketek emailed concert ticket holders on Tuesday stating that full refunds would be made while the company tries to “work through the rescheduling process with the artist.”

The tour was first postponed in November last year due to “unforeseen circumstances”.

The Australian leg of the star’s tour was set to include a concert at Sydney’s Accor Stadium and Brisbane’s Suncorp Stadium, with other dates to follow.

But now all dates have been cancelled, with Ticketek recommending fans to sign up to a waitlist in case the dates do get rescheduled down the track.

“The Weeknd ‘After Hours Til Dawn Tour’ for Australia & New Zealand is still in the process of being rescheduled. While we continue to work through the rescheduling process with the artist, tickets for the existing 2023 tour will be cancelled,” Ticketek stated on its website.

“All purchased tickets will receive a full refund.

“Ticket holders of the shows who previously held on to their tickets will be able to access a priority purchase window for the new tour in Australia and New Zealand when announced.

“In order to gain access to the priority pre-sale, please make sure you opt in and join the waitlist here.

“Tickets will be automatically refunded in full (including refundable ticket purchases, if applicable) to the original payment method used for purchase and patrons do not need to take any action.

“Patrons should allow approximately 30 business days for the refund to appear in their account.”

The Weeknd, real name Abel Tesfaye, has yet to post about the Australia and New Zealand cancellation on social media.

His most recent Instagram post was made on April 13, hinting that a new album was dropping soon.

But plenty of Australian fans were also dropping into the comments, hoping for some more information about when he would appear Down Under.

“Bro completely forgot about his Australia tour,” one fan wrote.

“Did you forget Australia?” wondered another.

“Ok cool, release Australia dates?” begged another.

On Tuesday, some fans headed back to that April 13 post to express their frustration at the tour being cancelled.

“So f***ing mad ... just got the email,” one wrote.

“WHAT NO PLEASE NO,” wrote another.

“RIP the aus/nz tour got cancelled 💀💀,” added a third.

Pakistan confirm tour of New Zealand for ODI and T20 series

N EW DELHI: The Pakistan Cricket Board has officially announced that the national team will embark on a tour to New Zealand next year. The tour will feature three One-Day Internationals and five T20 Internationals, marking the sixth series between the two cricketing nations since 2023.

The confirmation came following a meeting between PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi and New Zealand Cricket CEO Scott Weenink in Lahore. The discussions, which took place during the ongoing five-match T20I series, resulted in the finalization of the upcoming tour schedule.

During the meeting, it was agreed in principle to conduct the tour after the conclusion of the 2025 Champions Trophy, which is set to be hosted by Pakistan. This decision was made in consideration of the existing ICC Future Tours Programme.

In addition to the tour arrangements, PCB Chief Operating Officer Salman Naseer and Director of International Cricket Usman Wahla were also present at the meeting. The officials discussed various aspects of the tour and reaffirmed their commitment to promoting bilateral cricketing relations between Pakistan and New Zealand.

Notably, New Zealand is also slated to tour Pakistan for a tri-nation series before the commencement of the Champions Trophy, as per the existing ICC FTP.

Reflecting on the significance of hosting international cricket events in Pakistan, PCB Chief Mohsin Naqvi, who also serves as the country's interior minister, emphasized the need for all participating nations to play matches in Pakistan without any reservations.

During the meeting, Naqvi urged the NZC official to convey the secure environment and conducive conditions in Pakistan to other ICC member nations. He highlighted Pakistan's readiness to host the Champions Trophy and reiterated the PCB's commitment to ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for all teams and players.

With the tour to New Zealand and the upcoming Champions Trophy, Pakistan aims to showcase its capabilities as a host nation and further bolster its position in international cricketing circles.
