“This is just another puzzle piece of my crazy paranormal puzzle,” Bagans said of the idea that became “3 Ring Inferno”

“Ghost Adventures” star Zak Bagans began having visions 20 years ago of a little boy who finds a miniature diorama circus tent that is an entrance into another dimension, where terrifying clowns and spirits of the departed reside. When it came time to brainstorm ideas about something cool to do for Halloween for Travel Channel and discovery+ that involved his Las Vegas-based Haunted Museum, he realized it was the perfect time to put his visions on film. And, thus, “3 Ring Inferno” was born.

“I have no idea where that idea came from. In my life, weird things happen that I can’t explain,” he laughed. “You know, cards are dealt to me and the people dealing those cards are not of flesh and blood — they’re spirits.”

The visions started coming to Bagans in 2002, when he was in film school and when he started having paranormal experiences. He’d talk with people about what he was seeing in his head, not knowing what the visuals meant, where they were coming from or what to do with them. What he did know, however, was that someday, somehow he had to make it into a movie.

Fifteen years later, he opened the Haunted Museum. When he bought the building and walked through it for the first time, he already knew what every single room was going to be, like he had this museum before. “And then these five rooms are going to be for an old circus,” he told TheWrap. A short time later, he came across an old circus diorama and then a costume worn by a famous clown who was performing with Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus in 1944 when a fire erupted that killed 167 people and injured more than 700.

“Then I had this vision like this clown was talking to me to put the clown costume underneath the diorama, where there is a red tent, like the ones of my previous visions, so the spirit of this clown that performed at the circus fire can live within this miniature world of the diorama with all these other people,” Bagans said.

Bagans read up on the fire and thought, “This is a little microenvironment for them. This is, they can exist in the portal of this diorama. The clown is there. Everything’s OK. And as soon as I put that clown costume underneath it, weird things started happening in my fun house that I built. And it all came together.”

He went on. “Like this was a film that was put together a long time ago. I was supposed to get this clown costume. I was supposed to get this diorama — and then I had a call with Eli and with Cream Productions, “ Bagans said of horror film maestro, Eli Roth, with whom he has collaborated on several projects for Travel Channel and discovery+ and is the executive producer of “Haunted Museum.”

“I was like, ‘Guys, I have a really powerful story that I need to tell you about.’ And I talked to him about the inception of the idea, how I got these items, how this spirit of this clown literally was like, ‘Put my clown costume underneath the diorama, and when I did that, I felt this rush, just chill of like, ‘OK. There’s another thing that was supposed to be done.’”

After doing some research, Bagans learned that the man who allegedly started the fire was being told to do so by some type of “dark demonic entity with flames coming out of its head.”

“This is just another puzzle piece of my crazy paranormal puzzle,” Bagans said. “I don’t know what happens when I complete the puzzle or if it ever ends.”

TCM Memorial Tribute: James Caan TCM, beginning at 8pm Catch a Classic! Bronx born, with leading man looks and surprising depth, James Caan doggedly plied his craft on the stage and screen until a series of pithy roles turned the bit player into a rising star and then an icon. Audiences first took notice as the newcomer ably held his own alongside Hollywood heroes John Wayne and Robert Mitchum in the 1966 Howard Hawks Western El Dorado . He’s arguably history’s most famous pharaoh, made a king at age 9, dead 10 years later and buried in a solid gold coffin in 1324 B.C., surrounded by priceless riches. And though most royal tombs were discovered and stripped of their treasures, the whereabouts of King Tutankhamun’s burial chamber remained a mystery until Egyptologist Howard Carter and his team stumbled upon it on Nov. 4, 1922. Since then, “King Tut” and decades of explorers’ Egyptian adventures have been the stuff of legend — and plenty of attention from Hollywood. TCM celebrates the centennial of Carter’s monumental discovery with five cinematic offerings set among the myths, mysteries and monuments of the African locale. Up first is the Robert Taylor-Eleanor Parker starrer Valley of the Kings (1954), which filmed in Egypt and follows the danger-filled adventures of archaeologist Mark Brandon (Taylor), who teams up with brave and beautiful Ann Mercedes (Parker) to fulfill her father’s mission to find Pharaoh Rahotep’s tomb. Then, no name is more synonymous with horror than Boris Karloff, and his turn as the lovelorn title character in The Mummy (1932) keeps the film a creepy classic nearly a century later. Next up, come to Howard Hawks’ Land of the Pharaohs (1955) for Joan Collins as nubile Princess Nellifer and stay for the William Faulkner-penned epic tale centered on how ancient King Khufu’s obsession with his death led to the creation of the Great Pyramid of Giza. Then wrap up your Egyptian adventures with another of FitzPatrick’s travelogues, Cairo: City of Contrast (1938).

Sinister hauntings and supernatural tales of terror heat up this year’s “Ghostober” with highly anticipated premieres from paranormal stars Zak Bagans , Aaron Goodwin, Jay Wasley and Billy Tolley across Travel Channel and discovery+ . The scares begin with the launch of a new season of GHOST ADVENTURES on Thursday, September 15, the two-hour special GHOST ADVENTURES: DEVIL’S DEN on Thursday, September 29 and the nightmare-inducing Halloween special THE HAUNTED MUSEUM: 3 RING INFERNO , produced by Bagans in collaboration with acclaimed director Eli Roth, on Monday, October 31.

In the new season of GHOST ADVENTURES , launching Thursday, September 15 at 10 p.m. ET/PT on Travel Channel and discovery+ , Zak Bagans, Aaron Goodwin, Billy Tolley and Jay Wasley push their boundaries to the max as they tackle their most powerful and high-stakes paranormal investigations to date. In a groundbreaking two-part episode airing on Thursday, October 20 and Thursday, October 27, the crew are the first to investigate inside Los Angeles’ infamous Los Feliz Murder House, a home with a gruesome and violent history that has been closed off for years. The team are quickly caught in the grip of a dark and dangerous presence that incites unsettling behavioral reactions and mind-blowing evidence.

The team continue their haunted journey to search for evidence of the afterlife in a two-hour “Ghostober” special, GHOST ADVENTURES: DEVIL’S DEN , premiering Thursday, September 29 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on Travel Channel and discovery+. Bagans, Goodwin, Tolley and Wasley go behind the barbed wire of the shuttered Los Padrinos Juvenile Detention Center in Downey, California, a facility given the ominous designation “Devil’s Den” by both guards and inmates. During their petrifying lockdown, the crew explore the presence of a lingering dark and disturbing energy that still resides inside the building’s eerie halls, seeking to uncover whether it is from the real-life horrors of detention, or worse – the devil itself.

“Aaron, Billy, Jay and I pushed ourselves to the extreme with these investigations, physically and mentally, more than anything we’ve ever done before,” said Bagans. “There was an underlying level of evil we couldn’t evade, which was truly terrifying.”

Images show the Great American Eclipse, seen by tens of millions of people in parts of Mexico, 15 U.S. states and eastern Canada for the first time since 2017.

Millions gathered across North America on Monday to bask in the glory of the Great American Eclipse — the moment when the moon passes between the Earth and the sun.

The path of totality measures more than 100 miles wide and will first be visible on Mexico’s Pacific coast before moving northeast through Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Missouri, Illinois and upward toward New York, New Hampshire and Maine, then on to Canada.

During the cosmic spectacle, the moon’s movements will temporarily block the sun’s light, creating minutes of darkness, and will make the sun's outer atmosphere, or the corona, visible as a glowing halo.

Sinister hauntings and supernatural tales of terror heat up this year's "Ghostober" with highly anticipated premieres from paranormal stars Zak Bagans , Aaron Goodwin, Jay Wasley and Billy Tolley across Travel Channel and discovery+ . The scares begin with the launch of a new season of GHOST ADVENTURES on Thursday, September 15, the two-hour special GHOST ADVENTURES: DEVIL'S DEN on Thursday, September 29 and the nightmare-inducing Halloween special THE HAUNTED MUSEUM: 3 RING INFERNO , produced by Bagans in collaboration with acclaimed director Eli Roth, on Monday, October 31.

"'Ghost Adventures' is a staple of the Halloween season, and the investigations that Zak and the team bring to 'Ghostober' evoke a new caliber of fear," said Matthew Butler, group senior vice president, Travel Channel and Paranormal Streaming Content. "Our ghost-loving fans can look forward to the biggest, scariest and most intense paranormal events to date. And for those who want even more, Zak and Eli's Haunted Museum Halloween special, '3 Ring Inferno,' is a cinematic horror experience that redefines what it means to be scared."

In the new season of GHOST ADVENTURES , launching Thursday, September 15 at 10 p.m. ET/PT on Travel Channel and discovery+ , Zak Bagans, Aaron Goodwin, Billy Tolley and Jay Wasley push their boundaries to the max as they tackle their most powerful and high-stakes paranormal investigations to date. In a groundbreaking two-part episode airing on Thursday, October 20 and Thursday, October 27, the crew are the first to investigate inside Los Angeles' infamous Los Feliz Murder House, a home with a gruesome and violent history that has been closed off for years. The team are quickly caught in the grip of a dark and dangerous presence that incites unsettling behavioral reactions and mind-blowing evidence.

The team continue their haunted journey to search for evidence of the afterlife in a two-hour "Ghostober'' special, GHOST ADVENTURES: DEVIL'S DEN , premiering Thursday, September 29 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on Travel Channel and discovery+. Bagans, Goodwin, Tolley and Wasley go behind the barbed wire of the shuttered Los Padrinos Juvenile Detention Center in Downey, California, a facility given the ominous designation "Devil's Den" by both guards and inmates. During their petrifying lockdown, the crew explore the presence of a lingering dark and disturbing energy that still resides inside the building's eerie halls, seeking to uncover whether it is from the real-life horrors of detention, or worse - the devil itself.

"Aaron, Billy, Jay and I pushed ourselves to the extreme with these investigations, physically and mentally, more than anything we've ever done before," said Bagans. "There was an underlying level of evil we couldn't evade, which was truly terrifying."

The scares culminate on Halloween night with a tale of terror like no other as Bagans and filmmaker Eli Roth team up once again to produce the scripted two-hour special film, THE HAUNTED MUSEUM: 3 RING INFERNO, airing Monday, October 31 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on Travel Channel and discovery+. Based off the concept of THE HAUNTED MUSEUM horror film anthology series that presents frightening and hellish tales inspired by the spooky relics on display in Zak Bagans' Las Vegas museum, 3 RING INFERNO features the terrifying story of a boy and his father who steal an old suitcase from an antique market and soon discover a weathered tent inside that opens a portal to a cursed circus world from the past. In this mysterious and haunted place, they encounter a terrifying entity that will stop at nothing to capture their souls.
