• Dealers in our Industry are not franchised like automotive dealers and therefore not obligated to work on your product when it is not purchased from them.
• Our Dealers are independently owned and operated businesses. Service and scheduling is at their discretion and priority is commonly provided to customers that purchased from their dealership.
• Pre-Delivery Inspections and the customer’s product orientation educating them on their new purchase are often more thorough and convenient for both the customer and dealer when performed by your local dealer. Proximity to your dealership determines the ease of follow up on questions that may arise.
• Your first uses may result in some needed adjustments and tweaks. Often referred to as “shake down,” these minor adjustments are much more easily addressed by your local (and selling) dealer.

Chaparral Lite Fifth Wheels are designed with great aerodynamics and lightweight materials to provide half-ton pickup truck owners an RV that pulls incredibly light but lives exceptionally big! We believe that a natural towing experience – one in which you can forget that you are actually pulling something – can be achieved through great aerodynamics and light weights. Our combination of Alumicage construction and Turn Tec Engineering has taken towability to a whole new level. Chaparral Lite Fifth Wheels are available in single, double and triple slide-out floorplans that have been designed to meet and exceed the needs of today’s RV enthusiast.

Specifications Definitions

GAWR (Gross Axle Weight Rating) – is the maximum permissible weight, including cargo, fluids, optional equipment and accessories that can be safely supported by a combination of all axles.

UVW (Unloaded Vehicle Weight)* - is the typical weight of the unit as manufactured at the factory. It includes all weight at the unit’s axle(s) and tongue or pin and LP Gas. The UVW does not include cargo, fresh potable water, additional optional equipment or dealer installed accessories. *Estimated Average based on standard build optional equipment.

CCC (Cargo Carrying Capacity)** - is the amount of weight available for fresh potable water, cargo, additional optional equipment and accessories. CCC is equal to GVWR minus UVW. Available CCC should accommodate fresh potable water (8.3 lbs per gallon). Before filling the fresh water tank, empty the black and gray tanks to provide for more cargo capacity. **Estimated Average based on standard build optional equipment.

Each Forest River RV is weighed at the manufacturing facility prior to shipping. A label identifying the unloaded vehicle weight of the actual unit and the cargo carrying capacity is applied to every Forest River RV prior to leaving our facilities.

The load capacity of your unit is designated by weight, not by volume, so you cannot necessarily use all available space when loading your unit.

Is it possible to tow a fifth wheel trailer with a half-ton truck?  The answer is yes!  In fact, half-ton towable fifth wheel campers have become increasingly popular in recent years, with some manufacturers offering specific trailer models – even entire model lines, designed specifically with the half-ton pickup truck in mind.

However, there are some very important considerations and you should definitely do your research as to your particular half-ton’s towing capacity, etc.  Just because you have a half-ton doesn’t mean it necessarily can tow a fifth wheel trailer, as configurations vary widely, even within particular makes/models.

For example, here’s the range of towing capacity for the following half-ton trucks:

• 2023 Chevy Silverado 1500: 8,800 – 9,500 lb towing capacity
• 2023 GMC Sierra 1500: 8,700 – 9,500 lb towing capacity
• 2023 Toyota Tundra: 8,300 – 12,000 lb towing capacity
• 2023 Dodge RAM: 6,180 – 8,320 lb towing capacity
• 2023 Ford F-150: 5,000 – 11,300 lb towing capacity

Make sure you do diligent research on your individual half ton’s specifications.  A truck with a towing package or heavy payload package should be able to handle towing more weight.  You should also consider the vehicle’s GVWR and GAWR ratings.

Fifth Wheel Trailers and Short Bed Pickups

Short beds require a sliding fifth wheel hitch , that allows you to manually ‘slide’ the hitch towards the rear when attempting to maneuver in tight quarters so you don’t hit your truck cab with the trailer.  Amazon actually offers a broad range of slider fifth wheel hitches , and you should be able to identify hitches that fit your specific half-ton pickup make/model.

Alternatively, a pivoting pin box can be used which is more common now with ½ ton fifth wheels, which gives increased turn radius maneuverability up to 90 Degrees.

A long bed half-ton (usually around 8 feet), should be able to use a fixed fifth wheel hitch .

Visa-free travel to Russia

Several countries now have bilateral agreements in place with the Russian Federation to allow visa-free travel to Russia for their citizens. Unfortunately, however, there is no indication that similar agreements will be reached with the EU, the US, or the UK any time soon.

If you are not a citizen of one of the countries below and do not hold a diplomatic passport, the only other way to visit the Russian Federation without a visa is on a cruise ship to St. Petersburg. This exemption allows you to stay in the city for up to 72 hours without a visa on the condition that you are sleeping on the ship and are accompanied at all times by a licensed tour guide. If your cruise calls in St. Petersburg for 48 or 72 hours, there are companies offering shore tours which include a day in Moscow.

The same visa-free regime is applied to passengers on ferries from Helsinki and Tallinn operated by the company St. Peter Line, although in the case of ferry passengers you need to book your own accommodation. Nationalities which can travel to Russia without visas are divided into four groups with different requirements and different limitations on length of stay for each group. Even if you do not need a visa to enter Russia, you will certainly need a passport valid for at least six months after the date of your proposed exit from Russia, and you may require other official documents. You will also, like all foreign travelers in Russia, still need to register with the Federal Migration Service upon arrival.

Citizens of the countries of the CIS (the Commonwealth of Independent States) are permitted to stay in the Russian Federation for up to 90 days without a visa.

Citizens of these countries are allowed to stay in the Russian Federation without a visa for up to 90 days in each 180-day period, provided they will not be involved in any commercial or work-related activities during their stay.

Citizens of the countries in this group can stay in the Russian Federation for up to 30 days without a visa. They are not entitled to work while in Russia.

Citizens of these Balkan countries can also stay in Russia without a visa for up to 30 days, but must also show tourist documents (tourist confirmation and tourist voucher) or an official invitation to immigration officials.
