The Ultimate Guide to visiting the Wembley Stadium Tours

Wembley stadium tour ultimate guide.

Given that it was a venue for the 2012 London Olympic Games, and even the historic 1985 Live Aid concert, you don’t necessarily have to be a hardcore sports fan to appreciate all that the Wembley Stadium Tour has to offer.

Wembley Stadium as it is known as today officially opened in 2007, and was built on the same site as the original Wembley Stadium which hosted the 1948 Olympic Games as well as the 1966 World Cup Final. After the original stadium was demolished in 2003, the new Wembley Stadium took over four years and £790 million to complete, and is now known to be the largest stadium in the UK.

The Wembley Stadium Tour, on the other hand, has been around since 1978, and has attracted millions of sports enthusiasts (and even non-sports enthusiasts) from all over the world.

Wembley Stadium Tours Highlights

Each tour is run by an expert tour guide who will lead you to some of the most historic spots in the stadium that are normally only seen on TV during historic matches and championships. Not only that, visitors to the tour will even be shown some of the more private areas in the stadium, such as England’s changing rooms, the players’ tunnel and the Royal Box.

Some of the many highlights you can expect to see during your Wembley Stadium Tour include:

  • David Beckham’s Manchester United jersey (which he wore during his legendary 1999 campaign)
  • The FA 150 Exhibition which celebrates the history of the Football Association
  • The original rules of Association Football from as far back as 1863
  • The Jules Rimet Trophy (AKA The World Cup) commemorating England’s World Cup win in 1966
  • The 107 “sacred” Trophy Winner’s Steps
  • The Royal Box where winners go to collect their prized trophies
  • England Manager’s “hot-seat” in the Press Room
  • The 1966 World Cup crossbar
  • The original flag from London’s 1948 Olympic Games
  • Steven Gerrard’s 2005 captain armband
  • Graeme Souness’ three winning medals from 1978, 1981 and 1984

Visitors will also get the chance to lift up the FA Cup for a commercial photo, and buy some unique sports memorabilia at the Wembley Stadium Store, which offers everything from English and Wembley merchandise, to footballs, scarves, caps, replica kits and much more.

Getting There

Visiting wembley stadium.

Stadium tours last for approximately 75 minutes, but make sure you reserve at least one hour to visit the Stadium Store afterwards as well.

You may want to check the Wembley Stadium’s official website before you plan your visit, as there are numerous closures of the stadium which take place throughout the year.

You can purchase your tour tickets at the door, however it is highly recommended that you reserve a time slot online beforehand, as tours are subject to availability.

Be prepared to walk up and down lots of steps, so try and wear comfortable walking shoes for your visit. If you happen to be visiting in July, please note that the grass pitch may be covered to prepare the field for the start of the next season.

If you want to have a bite to eat before or after your tour, there is a Stadium Tour Cafe which offers both hot and cold beverages as well as sandwiches, snacks and muffins.

The atmosphere is poor, drinks and food are through the roof in price and little is done to make the experience special for fans. Time to start playing the matches at other stadiums. The views of the playing surface are fantastic from anywhere. Generally speaking it is in a fairly sterile area and is served by Wembley Park Station. How can I get to Wembley Stadium by tube - Ultimate 2023 Visitor Guide to Wembley Stadium

How can I get to Wembley Stadium by tube?

Getting to Wembley Stadium by tube is easy. There are two London Underground stations nearby. The closest tube station to Wembley Stadium is Wembley Park, which offers connections to central London via the Metropolitan or Jubilee line. It typically takes around 12 minutes to get to Baker Street and 20-25 minutes to King’s Cross. Wembley Central Station is a short 15-minute walk from the stadium and is accessible via the Bakerloo or London Overground lines. However, the exact duration of the journey can vary depending on factors such as the time of day, and any delays or disruptions on the tube lines. We recommend using the Metropolitan line from Wembley Park as it has the fewest stops, although you need to be prepared for possible queues on Olympic Way to get into the station. It is always a good idea to check the Wembley Stadium Sofa-to-Sea t tool or use the TfL Journey Planner to get the most up-to-date and accurate information on travel times and any disruptions on the tube network. If you want to know what zone is Wembley, Wembley Park London Underground station is located in Zone 4 of the Transport for London network. This means that if you're planning to use public transport to travel to Wembley Park, you'll need to purchase a travel card or Oyster card that covers Zone 4. The same applies to Wembley Central London Underground Station.

Football stadium bigger than Wembley remains a 'ghost ground' and the full story is a shame

Football stadium bigger than Wembley remains a 'ghost ground' and the full story is a shame

The 100,000 seater lays empty..

A football stadium bigger than Wembley Stadium remains a 'ghost ground' after the project was shelved due to lack of funding.

Chinese Super League side Guangzhou Evergrande were one of several high-profile clubs to grab the headlines when it splashed the cash on Brazillian megastars Robinho and Paulinho back in 2015.

There was a football boom in China with teams handing out big money contracts to veteran stars in the hope that the domestic game would one day be as lucrative as the Premier League.

Evergrande were the team to beat, winning seven consecutive titles between 2011 and 2017 under a string of high-profile managers including Fabio Cannavaro and Luiz Felipe Scolari.

They had thrown everything at it, with big plans to build a 100,000 seater ground to rival the best in the world. A ground that remains unfinished to this day, as per the Daily Star .

The team was renamed in 2021 to Guangzhou FC due to a request for all names associated with companies that owned the club to be removed.

Later that year, the Chinese financial crisis ensued and had a devastating impact on the clubs' future and the completion of their state-of-the-art stadium.

With several key players soon departing the club were relegated in 2022 - ending 12 consecutive seasons in the top flight.

In the middle of that same year, the stadium project was shelved and the ground left abandoned. It remains in that state today and is set to be auctioned off.

Any hopes of it being finished are long gone with it standing as a reminder that no matter how much money you throw into a football club it doesn't always bring success.

The Chinese Super League has now dropped significantly in status with the Chinese Football Association choosing to focus on the development of homegrown talent.

Anthony Joshua confirms next fight date at Wembley and names four possible opponents

Anthony Joshua will fight in September

Anthony Joshua has revealed his next fight will take place in September at Wembley Stadium in London .

The two-time heavyweight champion racked up four wins in less than 12 months against Jermaine Franklin , Robert Helenius, Otto Wallin and Francis Ngannou , back to his devastating best after knocking out the former UFC champion in March.

After two fights in Saudi Arabia, the 34-year-old is now set to return to the capital and headline at Wembley, the setting for his famous 2017 victory over Wladimir Klitschko.

“Whenever they tell me there’s a date, you know I’ll be ready 100 per cent,’ Joshua told talkSPORT.

‘It’s gonna be in London, Wembley Stadium. This is what I’m being told. If that’s what they say, they normally back their word so let’s go with that.

‘Wembley, September 20 or 21.’

For now, ‘AJ’ will now sit back and wait for the dust to settle in what is a huge summer in the heavyweight division. Following the historic undisputed title fight between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk , four of the division’s biggest hitters meet on the Matchroom vs Queensberry show on 1 June.

Daniel Dubois will take on Filip Hrgovic with Deontay Wilder in action against Zhilei Zhang on the same night.

Joshua believes whoever emerges from those fights ‘looking the best’ will be lined up for him by Saudi boxing chief Turki Alalshikh – with hopes the Fury fight could follow.

‘On June 1 in Saudi Arabia they’ve got the 5 vs 5 card,’ Joshua said.

‘You’ve got Filip Hrgovic vs Daniel Dubois, and you’ve got Zhilei Zhang vs Deontay Wilder.

;So providing one of those looks good – the one who looks the best, His Excellency Turki Alalshikh said to me, ‘I want you to fight [him].’

‘So out of that pool, I believe that’s who I’m gonna be fighting, one of those. We’re on the same page and he’s on the same page as the fans as well.

‘He’s trying to deliver what the fans want, I know they want that big fight with Tyson Fury and he’s working on it.

‘But Fury’s got his obligations with Oleksandr Usyk so I’ve gotta make sure I stay focused and disciplined, keep steamrolling through opponents so I can get closer and closer to having the opportunity of me vs Tyson Fury.’

Ancient Maya blessed their ballcourts: Researchers find evidence of ceremonial offerings in Mexico

by Michael Miller, University of Cincinnati

Ancient Maya blessed their ballcourts

For sports fans, places like Fenway Park, Wembley Stadium or Wimbledon's Centre Court are practically hallowed ground.

Archaeologists at the University of Cincinnati found evidence of similar reverence at ballcourts built by the ancient Maya in Mexico.

Using environmental DNA analysis, researchers identified a collection of plants used in ceremonial rituals in the ancient Maya city of Yaxnohcah. The plants, known for their religious associations and medicinal properties, were discovered beneath a plaza floor upon which a ballcourt was built.

Researchers said the ancient Maya likely made a ceremonial offering during the ballcourt's construction.

"When they erected a new building, they asked the goodwill of the gods to protect the people inhabiting it," UC Professor David Lentz said. "Some people call it an 'ensouling ritual,' to get a blessing from and appease the gods."

The study was published in the journal PLOS One .

The research was carried out through Mexico's National Institute of Anthropology and History in collaboration with researchers from the University of Calgary, the Autonomous University of Campeche and the National Autonomous University of Mexico.

Lentz and his research partners have been studying ancient Mesoamerican cultures across Mexico and Central America. New tools that can identify environmental DNA are helping them unlock secrets about how the ancient Maya might have used these spaces.

Researchers from 2016 to 2022 worked at Yaxnohcah in Campeche about 9 miles north of the border of Guatemala, where they excavated a small area of a ballcourt.

The ancient Maya played several ball games, including pok-a-tok, which was a mix of soccer and basketball. Players tried to get a ball through a ring or hoop on a wall.

"But not all of the ballcourts had hoops," Lentz said. "We think of ballcourts today as a place of entertainment. It wasn't that way for the ancient Maya."

He referenced a famous Mayan myth of hero twins who must play a ballgame with the gods to escape the underworld. And researchers believe in some instances, competitors were sacrificed at the conclusion of the match.

In some ancient Maya cities like Tikal in Guatemala, ballcourts were built prominently next to the biggest temples.

"Ballcourts occupied prime real estate in the ceremonial center," Lentz said. "They were a fundamental part of the city."

Many construction projects today are subject to ceremony, from groundbreaking to the placement of the last steel beam to the ribbon-cutting. The ancient Maya, too, were deliberate about their construction ceremonies as well.

"The nearest analogy today might be like christening a new ship," Lentz said.

UC Professor Emeritus Nicholas Dunning collected a sample of sediment at the base of a sidewall. Here, in a place known as the Helena complex, researchers believe stood a civic ceremonial platform consisting of 1-meter-high stone and earth.

The site started out as a humble residential structure built on bedrock, Dunning said. These community founder sites grew into places enshrined by monumental architecture, he said.

"Over time, important family members were buried within the expanding platforms, imbuing these places with power. The Maya practiced ancestor worship," Dunning said.

"In a sense, structures like the Helena Group were thought to be alive or to have souls that needed to be nourished," he said.

Dunning said when buildings were expanded or repurposed, as with the ballcourt, the ancient Maya made offerings to bless the site. Archaeologists sometimes find ceramics or jewelry in these offerings along with plants of cultural significance.

"We have known for years from ethnohistorical sources that the Maya also used perishable materials in these offerings, but it is almost impossible to find them archaeologically, which is what makes this discovery using eDNA so extraordinary," Dunning said.

Ancient plant remains are rarely discovered in tropical climates, where they decompose quickly. But using environmental DNA, researchers were able to identify several types known for their ritual significance.

"Ancient DNA sequencing is amazing," said Alison Weiss, a study co-author and professor emerita with the UC College of Medicine.

UC researchers used a product called RNAlater to preserve the samples during transit back to the labs. Special probes that are sensitive to species found in that region helped them single out the fragmented DNA of several species, she said.

They discovered evidence of plants associated with ancient Maya medicine used in divination rituals.

A type of morning glory called xtabentun is known for its hallucinogenic properties. Today, people brew mead from the honey of bees that feed on the pollen of xtabentun flowers.

Chili peppers today are a favorite spice around the world. But for the ancient Maya, chili peppers were used to treat a variety of illnesses. An offering of chili peppers might have been intended to ward off disease, Lentz said.

"We think of chili as a spice. But it was much more than that for the ancient Maya," Lentz said. "It was a healing plant used in many ceremonies."

Researchers also identified the tree Hampea trilobata or jool. The leaves of this tree were used to wrap food bundles for Maya ceremonies. The ancient Maya also wove food baskets from twine made from the tree's bark. And it was used in medicines to treat snake bites.

Lastly, researchers found evidence of the plant lancewood or Oxandra lanceolata. Its oily leaves are a known vasodilator, anesthetic and antibiotic agent.

Botanist and UC Associate Professor Eric Tepe said finding evidence of these plants together in the same tiny sediment sample is telling. He has studied modern plants in the same forests once traveled by the ancient Maya.

"I think the fact that these four plants, which have a known cultural importance to the Maya, were found in a concentrated sample tells us it was an intentional and purposeful collection under this platform," Tepe said.

Researchers for years have identified the diets and uses of plants among ancient cultures by studying trapped pollen, preserved charcoal and ancient refuse piles. Now environmental DNA holds the promise of helping researchers learn even more about ancient civilizations, Tepe said.

"I wouldn't be surprised if this tool becomes more common. You gain insights you wouldn't learn any other way," he said.

Researchers noted the challenge of trying to interpret a collection of plants through the opaque lens of 2,000 years of prehistory. But Lentz said the findings help add to the story of this sophisticated culture.

Researchers believe the ancient Maya devised water filtration systems and employed conservation-minded forestry practices. But they were helpless against yearslong droughts and also are believed to have deforested vast tracts for agriculture.

"We see the yin and yang of human existence in the ancient Maya," Lentz said. "To me that's why they're so fascinating."

New Delhi [India], April 24 (ANI): Recognising market demand, the Moscow City Tourism Committee organized a conference for representatives of the Indian MICE industry, to introduce them to the tourism strengths of the Russian capital.

MICE stands for Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions, and is a type of tourism in which large groups, usually plan things well in advance.

The event took place on April 19 in Delhi and brought together over 100 participants from MICE agencies of both countries, corporate customers, representatives of the travel industry in Moscow, Aeroflot and the Indian branches of Sberbank.

Business tourism is one of the most promising directions for Moscow.

In 2023, the capital was visited by 3.7 million business tourists – 7 per cent more than in 2022. And India remains one of the leaders among visitors from non-CIS countries in terms of the number of business travellers.

“The Russian capital as a centre of business tourism and corporate events is already an established and a strong brand in the international arena,” commented Anastasia Popova, Deputy General Director for International and Industry Cooperation of Project Office for the Development of Tourism and Hospitality in Moscow.

“Now our task is to demonstrate to our Indian partners all the possibilities of organizing high-value MICE events in Moscow in combination with already proven tourist programs,” said Popova.

At the Shaping MICE Future Conference, industry experts from Russia and India pronounced statements and speeches on the future of MICE events in these two countries, a presentation of the MICE potential of Moscow was showcased, and an analytical report on the state of the outbound MICE market in India was presented to the visitors.

During the panel discussion, participants assessed the current status and interaction peculiarities with the MICE market in India and developed recommendations for the MICE industry in Moscow during the general brainstorming session.

Representatives of the Indian MICE industry participated in B2B negotiations to find new cross-partners in the Moscow business environment and among representatives of the hospitality industry.

Representatives of the MICE industry took part in the event from Moscow.

Among them were DMC (Grand Rus, Academservice, Headed Goose, Satguru Travel, Isba Rus, Hug the Bear, Mellenium Group) as well as representatives of other partners interested in the development of MICE cooperation between Russia and India: Global transfers provider i’way and hotels Edge Seligerskaya and Edge Vinogradovo Moscow by Rotana.

“In 2024, we have witnessed a significant surge (more than quadruple) in the demand for transfers by Russians visiting India, both for business and leisure purposes. Muscovites are leading the trend, with 80 per cent of transfer bookings originating from the capital since the beginning of the year. Additionally, we observe a growing interest from Indian tourism agencies in exploring Russia, resulting in a substantial increase in our collaboration,” commented Dmitriy Saraykin, co-founder of Global Transfer Provider i’way.

The Shaping MICE Future conference allowed the Moscow City Tourism Committee to form a pool of MICE industry representatives in Moscow to prioritize incoming requests for events and clarify India’s requirements for business and corporate events to build mutually effective work. Indian colleagues received up-to-date information about Moscow as a safe and attractive MICE destination and were able to find potential partners among representatives of the MICE industry of the Russian capital and were able to present the MICE market in India.

“The event served as a remarkable platform for fostering meaningful dialogue and collaboration within the tourism industry. The event provided us with invaluable opportunities to engage with key stakeholders from the tourism department, as well as tour operators and service providers. The insights gained during the event underscored the Moscow City Tourism Committee’s keen interest in the Indian outbound market, and we are optimistic about the promising prospects for Moscow as a destination, particularly in the post-pandemic landscape. We firmly believe that with concerted efforts and strategic initiatives, Moscow has the potential to emerge as a top-choice destination for Indian tourists,” said Mudit Mathur, director of Tours Delite India, representing Academ Service – Russia in India.

The conference also assessed the solutions to foreign demand for non-standard venues and elements in MICE programs, such as museums, parks, theaters and others. Holding MICE events at offbeat locations, such as the State Historical Museum, the Moscow Planetarium and Khudozhestvenny Cinema, is becoming popular.

This helps to attract conference organizers and creates a unique experience for the participants. Working in this format, many visitors who come to Moscow on a business trip want to return with their families and spend time as regular tourists. (ANI)

Trump’s trial is the latest chapter in the rich history of Lower Manhattan’s courts.

A cluster of downtown buildings has served as the borough’s “epicenter of criminal justice in New York since the 1830s,” said a lawyer who has led walking tours of Manhattan courthouses.

A plaza with the State Supreme Court building behind it.

By Matthew Mpoke Bigg

  • April 26, 2024

For a decade, Robert Pigott, a lawyer, has led walking tours of the courthouses of Manhattan, guiding visitors around landmarks where the city’s rich legal history has played out. Now the trial of Donald J. Trump has added a chapter to the story he gets to tell.

Mr. Pigott’s tours, which he runs in his spare time, revolve around a cluster of downtown buildings that are the borough’s judicial hub. For now, 100 Centre Street — the Manhattan Criminal Courthouse, where the former president’s case is being heard — is the focus.

But just down the street on Foley Square sits Manhattan’s most elegant courthouse building, New York’s Supreme Court, with its sweeping flight of 32 stone steps leading up to a series of imposing Corinthian columns. Other court buildings are dotted around nearby.

“The eyes of the nation and the world are trained on criminal court cases in New York County, whether it’s organized crime, Wall Street cases or federal cases,” Mr. Pigott said.

Mr. Trump’s trial is remarkable because it is the first time that a former American president has been criminally prosecuted. The defendant’s status as this year’s presumptive Republican presidential nominee adds a contemporary political dimension.

For Mr. Pigott, 64, who has written a book about the history of the city’s courthouses, the real significance is what it says about the status of a few blocks of Manhattan as a nexus. He pointed out that Mr. Trump’s civil fraud case and defamation case also both played out this year in courthouses within spitting distance of the criminal trial.

“Now, when I arrive at the expanse of Foley Square midway through the walk, I can point to something truly remarkable — three different courthouses where the same former U.S. president has been on trial,” he said.

Mr. Trump’s trial shows how politics, celebrity and the location of the court itself can reinforce one another to make a big story bigger. New York’s status as a media hub increases the spotlight during high-profile cases and the high-profile cases held over the decades have, in turn, made the city’s courts an attractive setting for fictional courtroom dramas.

In these buildings, a jury convicted Anna Sorokin for grand larceny in 2019 for posing as a German heiress to swindle wealthy New Yorkers — a case that almost by definition blurred fact and fiction. Naturally, the tale has since been turned into a series on Netflix.

The cluster is also where a group of Black and Latino teenagers, then known as the Central Park Five, were wrongly convicted in 1990 of raping a jogger — a case also rendered as a Netflix series — and where Mark David Chapman pleaded guilty in 1981 to murdering the musician John Lennon.

The New York Supreme Court building, a trial-level court, often serves as a symbol of the court complex. It featured prominently in the television show “Law and Order" and the 1957 courtroom film classic “12 Angry Men,” to cite just two examples.

Mr. Pigott, however, is drawn to the history of the legal system before the 20th century and how it evolved through its buildings. The first stop on the tours he runs is a sidewalk nearby with glass blocks embedded in it, through which it is possible to see the excavations of a courthouse built by the Dutch in the colonial era.

The authorities in New York built a judicial infrastructure in this part of Lower Manhattan starting mainly in the 19th century, when the area experienced significant gang violence, he said.

“This one-block radius has been the epicenter of criminal justice in New York since the 1830s,” said Mr. Pigott.

For all the drama associated with the Trump trial, the streets outside the criminal courthouse have generally been calm this week. Reporters and members of the public have lined up for entry to the courthouse. And on Thursday morning, Collect Pond Park across the street, which has been designated for protests, was empty. Its only occupants were some police officers and a few pigeons.

Universal Studios tram tossed “multiple” riders to the ground, accident investigators say

A tram vehicle at Universal Studios Hollywood threw “multiple” riders to the ground after it struck a guardrail near props from the “Jurassic Park” film franchise in an accident that is under investigation by the California Highway Patrol.

Details of the accident that took place Saturday night — amid the 60th anniversary of the attraction — remain sketchy, but the CHP said the agency has determined that drugs and alcohol were not a factor in the crash that injured 15 park visitors.

For the record:

3:01 p.m. April 22, 2024 An earlier version of this article said 15 riders on the Universal Studios Hollywood tram attraction were thrown to the ground. The California Highway Patrol said “multiple” riders were thrown to the ground and that a total of 15 were injured.

The tram was driving through the storied Universal Studios back lot shortly after 9 p.m. when the crash occurred, according to authorities.

The linked tram cars passed by a set of props from the “Jurassic Park” film franchise when the tram driver turned onto Avenue M and for some unknown reason the last car in the procession collided with the metal guardrail on the right side, the CHP said. This caused the tram to “tilt and eject multiple passengers from the tram,” authorities said in a news release.

The Los Angeles County Fire Department received a call for service shortly after 9 p.m. for the crash and 15 passengers were transported to a hospital with minor to moderate injuries.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department also responded to the scene but the CHP is the lead agency, a Universal Studios spokesperson said.

“Our thoughts continue to be with the guests who were involved, and we are thankful that based on agency reports, the injuries sustained were minor,” Universal Studios said in a statement.

The theme park is working closely with authorities as Universal Studios continues its “review of the incident and safety remains a top priority.”

The Studio Tour tram ride, which is celebrating its 60th anniversary this week, will continue to operate with a modified route and the theme park will reinforce its “operational and safety protocols.”

The status of the injured passengers was unclear as of Monday.

In many ways, the tram ride came to define the theme park.

Over the years, countless riders have enjoyed close encounters with a robotic shark depicting the blood-thirsty animal in the movie “Jaws,” a terrifying stop outside the Bates Motel from the film classic “Psycho” and a harrowing escape from the clutches of King Kong.

Newer film franchises have joined the tour, including a stroll through a suburban neighborhood wasted by aliens from the 2005 film “War of the Worlds” to a western-themed sideshow from Jordan Peele’s 2022 movie “Nope.”

The tram tour got its start in 1964 when Universal Studios executives noticed that food sales at the studio commissary shot up after local tour buses were allowed past the studio gates to let fans get a glimpse of the back lot movie sets and props.

The first iteration of the attraction were the pink-and-white Glamour Trams, which carried about 38,200 riders in the first year. Passengers paid $2.50 for a two-and-a-half hour tour that included stops to see a stunt show and a movie makeup exhibition.

How the Universal Studios tram tour defined the modern theme park

The most important theme park ride ever created? It may just be the Universal Studios tram tour, which dates to the silent film era. Once primarily a behind-the-scenes tour, the trek has evolved to define the modern theme park.

Aug. 3, 2023

Later renamed the Universal Studios Studio Tour, the trams have since endured real life fires, labor strife, a series of expansions and at least one fatal accident.

The theme park launched a renovation project in 2022 to begin converting the diesel-hydraulic powered vehicles to run on electricity to reduce emissions. It is not clear if the tram that struck the guard rail was a newer electric vehicle or an older version.

This is not the first time an accident happened at the theme park. In 1986, a park employee was run over by the tram during a special Halloween “Fright Nights” show . Paul Rebalde, 20, was stationed on a parked tram filled with mannequins dressed to look like corpses, the Sheriff’s Department said at the time.

While in costume, Rebalde was to leap from among the mannequins on the parked tram and frighten people passing on moving trams, but was trapped between the third and fourth sections of one of the four-section moving trams and was run over and dragged to his death, according to authorities. The Halloween-themed attraction was paused for several years and later rebranded “Halloween Horror Nights.”

More recently, a stunt performer was hospitalized after performing in the “Waterworld” show in January 2023 . The performer was set on fire shortly before taking a leap off a tower in the show’s finale. The “Waterworld: A Live Sea War Spectacular” show is inspired by the 1995 Kevin Costner film and opened months after the movie’s debut.
