Sunset Sail in Boston Harbor

If Boston is best seen from the water, then by far the best time to see it is during a sunset cruise on a classic Boston tall ship! We depart Fan Pier Marina and raise the sales, then it’s time to just chill out and relax.

The Star can accommodate up to 39 passengers for day sails in addition to a crew of 3. Get away from the hustle and bustle of the city streets and enjoy some quality time out on the water with unbeatable views of the skyline sparkling in the twilight.

Drinks are available onboard for purchase via cash, credit, or Apple Pay – our menu includes several beers brewed right here in Boston! We also have red and white wine, vodka- and rum-based cocktails, soda, juice, and water available in addition to several snack options.

Snacks and bag lunches are welcome, but please no coolers or outside beverages.

There is no formal narration during our public sails, but feel free to ask the captain and crew and they’ll happily share their knowledge of local landmarks and history.

The Experience

Our Cruises are scheduled to meet at Pier 6 in the Navy Yard in Charlestown or India Wharf downtown next to the Boston Aquarium. These docks open directly into the incredible Boston Harbor. You will board our vessel, store your beverages and snacks, receive a quick introduction and review our safety protocols. Then it’s time to pedal out onto open water or relax and enjoy the amazing Boston Harbor!

From the Cycleboat, you’ll see Boston like never before! Take in the amazing views and soak up their history. Landmarks like the East Boston Tall Ship, Nantucket Lightship, Logan Airport, South Boston Seaport, Boston Tea Party Ship , the Downtown and Northend Waterfront, Boston CoastGuard Station, TD Garden, Bunker Hill Monument and the Historic Charlestown Navy Yard with the USS Constitution and WWII destroyer Cassin Young .

Just choose a seat at the table and pedal as much or as little as you like or just relax in the lounge area. Your cruise will take you to the shoreline of East Boston, South Boston Seaport, Fort Point Channel, Downtown and Northend Waterfront, Charles River Basin and the Charlestown Navy Yard . After 1.5 hours on the water, we’ll head back to Pier 6, exit the vessel and say our goodbyes. You’ll leave with a smile on your face after experiencing one of the BEST Boston Harbor Day Cruises!

No, don’t worry! Most people take turns and have fun pedaling or just cruising. The captain can raise or lower the paddle wheel to reduce the resistance, making the pedaling easier (just like lowering the gear on a bicycle). We can also supplement your pedal power with the outboard motor, so no one has to pedal!

Yes! Riders who are of age are welcome to bring beer, wine or pre-mixed cocktails (no hard alcohol) while they enjoy their Cycleboat ride! Of course non-alcoholic beverages are okay too!

There is a bathroom aboard our 20, 24 and two 26 passenger boats (Boston Patriot, Rosie the Riveter, Minuteman and Sweet Caroline) for emergencies our 16 person boat (Cycleboat One) does not have a bathroom but can make a short bathroom stop at the tour’s halfway point.

• It’s unlikely you’ll get wet, but dress for the weather conditions and for comfort, it can be a little windier or cooler on the harbor, so we do recommend bringing an extra layer especially for evening tours.
• Sunglasses and hats are great but you will be seated under a large canopy shielding direct sun and rain.
• No need to bring a cooler as we have ice chests with ice in the center bar between the pedal stations for passenger use.
• Also, snacks are great or anything you can eat with one hand (i.e. sandwich)

Stellwagen Bank is one of the best spots for whale watching in the world. Each summer, around 50 individual humpback whales return to this hotbed of biological activity. The city’s most iconic tour lends both land and sea perspectives to Boston’s history and architecture, with sense of humor to spare. Hop on a revamped, World War II-era amphibious vehicle and you'll cruise the streets of Boston, then plunge into the Charles River for views of both the Boston and Cambridge skylines and a chance to intermingle with sailboats, kayaks and, yes, local ducks. Along the way, you'll be educated and entertained by a ConDUCKtor, who will surely encourage you to occasionally quack at the locals.

3.  Historic sightseeing cruise

Sometimes it’s best to combine education with your alfresco outings. This 90-minute tour immerses you in the lore of Boston’s waters, detailing heroic happenings during the Revolutionary War; the earlier industrial workings of the city’s ports; and the history of the Harbor Islands National Park Area, consisting of 34 bucolic islands and mainland parks.

4.  Sunset cruise

This cruise offers a bit of history and spectacle along with gorgeous sunset views. The 90 minute cruise takes you around the Harbor past historic sites, then pauses as the USS Constitution fires her cannons and lowers her flags to mark the end of the day. Enjoy beautiful colors of the setting sun reflecting off the downtown buildings, and watch as the skyline lights up as darkness falls.

5.  USS Constitution cruise

Get up close and personal with one of the city's most famous historical landmarks. This 45-minute tour takes you over to Old Ironsides, one of the very first ships commissioned by the US Navy (1797). After an up-close view of the ship, you’ll take a quick harborside swing around other historical landmarks, including Bunker Hill Monument and Old North Church.

Classic Harbor Line offers cruises around Boston Harbor year-round on the yacht Northern Lights as well as seasonally on the Schooner Adirondack III . 2 young children left alone while mother went on cruise, court records say

HOUSTON — A woman is facing charges after two children were found to be left alone at home for multiple days earlier in the month in Houston.

Lakesha Woods Williams, 29, has been charged with abandoning a child with intent to return, according to KTRK.

Williams is accused of leaving her 6-year-old daughter and 8-year-old son at home alone while she went on a cruise, the news outlet reported.

Court records obtained by KTRK said that neighbors at Williams’ apartment building saw her leave with luggage on April 4 but never came back.

A welfare check was done on April 9 after one of the neighbors contacted police because they were worried about the safety of the children, court records indicated, according to KHOU.

When officers entered the apartment, they reportedly found it filled with trash and leftover food. The children told officers that their mother went on a cruise and they did not know when she would be back, the news outlet reported. Officers found a camera inside the apartment that Williams reportedly used to keep an eye on the children and a cellphone that the boy used to text her.

The Houston Fire Department was called to check on the children to make sure they were OK. Child Protective Services was also contacted and the children were released into the custody of their aunt, court records said, according to KHOU .

Investigators contacted Williams but she was not cooperative with them. She was eventually located and arrested Thursday evening, the news outlet reported.

The Massachusetts father of three kids who were strangled , allegedly by their mother, will be running the Boston Marathon Sunday in memory of his slain children.

Patrick Clancy, of Dexbury, is also taking part in the 26.2 mile trek to raise money for Boston Children’s Hospital, where his infant died.

“My kids brought me so much joy and couldn’t have made their dad prouder,” he wrote in a post on Boston Children’s Hospital’s website.

“It goes without saying that losing them has been devastating and it’s a heartbreak that I’ll live with forever, but I’ve committed myself to honoring their memory by trying to bring positive change.

“In many ways, I’m just trying to be more like them. Their passion in life was infectious.”

Clancy’s kids — Cora, 5, Dawson, 3, and seven-month-old Callan — were killed in January 2023. Their mother Lindsay Clancy, who was reportedly suffering from postpartum depression or postpartum psychosis, allegedly strangled them at their home before jumping out a second-story window.

As of Friday evening, Clancy had raised $48,310 of his $50,000 goal for the hospital. He will be running the marathon wearing his “Happy Callan” bracelet and with a resin of his children’s handprints, he said in a statement.

Clancy remembers his children as “brave” and said his daughter loved “playing with little ones” and “loved babies.”

“She would always say that one day she wanted to be a ‘doctor and a mama,'” he wrote.

He recalled Dawson being “one of the friendliest toddlers you’d ever meet,” who loved “fire trucks, Paw Patrol, and his family,” and could always “bring smiles to people’s faces.”

Clancy remembered his youngest as a “happy baby” and missed his laugh.

Callan had spent his last moments in his dad’s arms inside Boston Children’s Hospital and the Dexbury native said he was “grateful” that the hospital had given him “a little more time with my boy.”

The infant died three days after the tragedy, while his sister and brother were pronounced dead upon arrival at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital-Plymouth.

“I know he would have done great things in this world,” the father said of Callan.

Clancy had raised concerns about his wife’s mental health to friends prior to the murders. He had told a college friend that he thought Lindsay was being “prescribed too many medications,” court documents showed.

He also pleaded with the public to “forgive” his wife , saying that she was not that person and was “generously loving and caring toward everyone.”

The Post has reached out to Clancy for comment.

Payton Pritchard scores a career-high 31 points as Celtics rest starters and cruise past Hornets

BOSTON - Payton Prichard scored a career-high 31 points and the Boston Celtics rolled to a 131-98 win over the Charlotte Hornets on Friday night. 

Pritchard added 11 assists for his second double-double this season and helped the Celtics avoid losing three consecutive games for the first time this season. 

Luke Kornet finished with 16 points and 10 rebounds, and Sam Hauser and Neemias Queta both also had 16 points for Boston, which led by as many as 33. 

The Celtics' top six rotation players - Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, Jrue Holiday, Derrick White, Kristaps Porzingis and Al Horford - all sat out with nagging ailments in what was essentially a rest night for them. Boston has already locked up the top seed in the Eastern Conference and home-court advantage throughout the playoffs. 

They likely will get another rest day Sunday when Boston concludes its regular season schedule against Washington. 

Tre Mann led the Hornets with 19 points and eight assists. Nick Smith Jr. added 15 points. 

The absences gave the Celtics the opportunity to give some playing time to rookie Jordan Walsh and call up two-way players Queta, JD Davison and Drew Peterson from the G League to fill in, a night after they all played with Maine at Oklahoma City in Game 2 the G League Finals. Maine hosts Oklahoma City Blue in Portland on Sunday to crown the G League champion. 

The Hornets have been eliminated from playoff contention since March 23 and played without former Celtic Grant Williams, who was listed out with a sprained right ankle, and Nick Richards (right plantar fascia).

MIAMI (AP) — Max Fried pitched six solid innings and Marcell Ozuna homered to lead the Atlanta Braves to an 8-1 win over the Miami Marlins in their series opener Friday night.

Fried (1-0) entered with an 18.00 ERA after a pair of rough starts to open the season, but limited the Marlins to four hits while striking out four and walking one. The 30-year old left-hander was replaced by Pierce Johnson after giving up back-to-back hits in the seventh.

“For me, it’s been frustrating the last couple (outings),” Fried said. “Giving it up and not giving us a chance to win, so having a tight game through five, six innings and being able to keep it there for our offense to go off in the way that they did — it was nice to contribute.”

Ozuna blasted a solo shot 446 feet to center field in the ninth for his sixth home run — tying him with Boston’s Tyler O’Neill, the Los Angeles Angels’ Mike Trout and the Los Angeles Dodgers’ Mookie Betts for the major league lead — and the second-longest homer hit at loanDepot park this year. Ozuna was 3 for 4 with three RBIs.

“This is where it started last year and he’s had really good years here,” Braves manager Brian Snitker said. “It might be that he sees the ball really well here. Marcell can swing the bat really well all year, and tonight was no different.”

Braves shortstop Orlando Arcia led off a five-run seventh with a double off reliever George Soriano, who then walked Ronald Acuña Jr. and hit Ozzie Albies with a pitch to load the bases. Andrew Nardi replaced Soriano and gave up a bases-loaded walk to Matt Olson and a two-run single to Ozuna.

Nardi exited to some boos before Burch Smith gave up a pair of RBI singles to make it 7-0. Smith got Travis d’Arnaud to ground out to end the inning.

Arcia also doubled to start the fifth and scored on Albies’ single that put Atlanta up 2-0.

Olson, d’Arnaud and Austin Riley also doubled for the high-powered Braves, who have an MLB-leading 38 doubles. Acuña stole two bases, giving him six on the season.

Marlins starter Trevor Rodgers (0-2) allowed eight hits and two runs with five strikeouts and a walk in five innings.

Jazz Chisholm Jr. singled in the seventh against Fried, then scored Miami’s only run on a single by Emmanuel Rivera.

The Marlins lost their 12th game and remain winless at home after opening with an 0-7 homestand.

“Unfortunately, we didn’t get the W, but I still trust all those guys in there,” Marlins manager Skip Schumaker said. “We’ll turn this around.”

Braves: C Sean Murphy (oblique strain) threw flat-footed before Friday’s game and is increasing his activity. Snitker said it was a “good sign.” … RHP Darius Vines was recalled from Triple-A Gwinnett. … RHP Allan Winans was optioned to Triple-A Gwinnett following Thursday’s loss to Mets.

Marlins: SS Tim Anderson was given the day off because of an illness. … LHP Braxton Garrett (shoulder) threw six innings in a rehab start with the Triple- A Jacksonville on Friday. Garrett gave up four runs and six hits while striking out four. … RHP Edward Cabrera (shoulder impingement) is scheduled to pitch six innings with Triple-A Jacksonville on Wednesday.

Left-hander Chris Sale (1-0, 3.38 ERA) will start for Atlanta against Marlins right-hander Max Meyer (1-0, 2.45).
