Definitely a picture-perfect scenery, an island paradise in the middle of crystal-clear waters bordered by white sand. The dream is for you to reach for an unforgettable day, 100% Caribbean.

Quite early in the morning, to avoid the tourist crowd, our bus will take you from Las Terrenas to the elegant Puerto Bahía Marina in Samana.

After only 15 minutes by boat, you will stop at a shipwreck (almost at the water’s edge), that has become a refuge for thousands of multicolored fish. We will give you mask and snorkel to see this majestic show. Without any doubt that is the most beautiful place to dive in the Samana peninsula.

Then Cayo Levantado awaits you in all its splendor. It is still early in the morning and paradise is almost yours! It is an immense joy to bathe with delight in this crystal blue water.

At noon, a Dominican buffet will await you.

The return to Las Terrenas will be around 4.30 p.m.

• Approximate pick up time from your hotel or pick-up point: 6.30-7.00 a.m.
• Duration: 12 hours
• What to bring: closed shoes, swimming suit, photo camera, sun protection cream, cash for souvenirs and tips
• Children under 2 years old travel for free on the excursion and will be seated on their parents’ laps in the bus!
• For safety reasons, children under 10 years old should ride horses accompanied by an adult. From the age of 10, they are allowed to ride horses independently.

Before the expedition had started, I already was upset cause my wife couldn’t go because she didn’t feel well. And although I thought it was nonsense, no sooner had we started the Tour and I was thankful she stayed at the apartment. It was a long tour albeit an exciting one, I still wished she could have come, even though I could clearly understand why she shouldn’t have. Keep in mind that for this trip you need to be in good physical condition.

I am in love with the peninsula of Samana ! Although this tropical country isn’t large, there are parts and places that are very different to the Punta Cana area, which is so well-known and popular among the tourists. Samana is one of such places. The Limon waterfall visit is also included in the excursion package. When we were there we saw a local climbed onto the cliff of the waterfall and dived down, it was interesting and exciting to see it.

I am an experienced traveler and have visited different countries and places, but the Dominican Republic is my favorite one because of the virgin nature, its beautiful views and a warm blue ocean.  I can describe the stunning nature of the peninsula of Samana and the Bacardi island for a long time, but I would recommend everyone to see it with your own eyes, and do not forget to bring a good camera to take pics.

Full Day of making memories. The excursion is worth every dollar! We were picked up at our hotel at 6.30 a.m., it was a full long day. The organization was at the highest level, everything well scheduled. The Everythingpuntacana team knows well its business. We visited famous Bacardi island and had an adventurous tour to El Limon waterfall. We had good emotions and excellent mood. I would like to note that we had never seen so perfect nature before. Spare no expense for such a wonderful day! I highly recommend it !!

Spend a day exploring the stunning Playa Rincon and the surrounding area on this tour from Punta Cana or Bayahibe. Begin with a comfortable ride in modern buses to the Pier of Las Cañitas in Miches. From there, take a boat to the Province of Santa Barbara de Samana and embark on a guided walking tour of the city. Visit the Museum of Las Ballenas to learn about the local whales and stop by the Pueblo Príncipe shopping mall. Next, head to Playa Rincon, a 3-mile-long white sand beach, where you can relax on the sands or explore on your own. Then, ride in a traditional canoe through the mangroves on the Caño Frio. Enjoy a delicious lunch with a choice of chicken or fish with coconut rice, tostones, salads, coconut bread, and fruit. More than a tour, this is an unforgetable adventure and a communion with nature. Los Haitises is a magical place that takes us back to the time of the dinosaurs, its also were important scenes from the movie Jurassic Park were filmed.

Los Haitises is one of the main ecological attractions of the Dominican Republic. The park constitute a karst (relief in rocks), tropical limestones in mogotes characteristic of these climatic zones of the earth. Its morphology presents hills, corridors and valleys. This unique park has a dense coastal wet forest located in the southern part of Samana Bay, and its an immense reserve full of caves, taino pictographs, humid forests, and hundreds of bird species, many of them endemic.

We initiate our tour in "Cayo Los Pajaros" (Bird Cay) where we will observe the reproductive areas of the birds that inhabit the reserve. Depending of the time of year we may see many of the newborns being fed by their parents.

We continue onto "Boca de Tiburon" (Mouth of the Shark) a Cay that is home to stalactite formations, formed over time in this humid region. We then navigate through the mangrove canals observing the different types of endangered mangroves and the natural flora found in the park.

During our trip we will also visit various natural caves known as Saint Gabriel, "La Linea" (The Line), and "La Arena" (The Sand) where you will find indigenous art painted on the cave walls and let yourself imagine the many activities that were held in those caves over many centuries ago.

After exploring Los Haitises National Park we will head east to the island of Cayo Levantado (Also knowned as Bacardi island) where you will enjoy a delicious tipical dominican buffet lunch with a selection of regional cuisine. Options include fish, chicken, rice and beans, pasta, fruit selection, salad, bread and either a refreshment or natural water.

After lunch, we will enjoy the turquoise waters and white sands of Cayo Levantado and relax in a long chair on the beach with the warm Samana sun or a nice breezy shade from the coconut trees that abounds on the island. At the end of the day around 4:00 PM we will return to Samana port aboard our catamaran.

Throughout the excursion you will be accompanied by one of our experienced guides fluent in multiple languages who will help to make your adventure an unforgettable one. Aboard our boat you will be offered a selection of natural water, refreshments and dominican rum as well as snacks of pieces of pineapple and coconut for your enjoyment.

And we really watched one four members family od dolphins and than two adults whales with their baby. They jumped from the water three times!!! It was really very big adventure. It was such an adventurous and fun way to see other parts of the Dominican Republic. Everything was amazing from the whale watching to swimming in the cascading waterfall! I highly recommend this tour to anyone seeking a unique adventure in the stunning landscapes of Samana. As someone who travels for a living, I have been on countless tours and this one by far has to be in my top 3. I was highly impressed. This tour exceeded my expectations in every aspect, and I cannot recommend it enough. The team's commitment to providing a top-notch experience was evident throughout. From the comfortable transportation to the engaging guides and delicious meals, every element of the tour was well-thought-out. But I have to be honest and say that I was disappointed by the tour...Out of a 12 hours tour, we only stayed in Saona 2 hours. We arrived there were 30 min late and the 2 hours also included the lunch. I would not call that a tour focused on Saona. I think transportation was very very inefficient. We had to change bus twice on the way to the island, and the same on the way back. Similarly, we had to change boat twice on both ways. For every change, it took forever to collect people. Especially because we were many and from several different hotels. At every step there was also additional time wasted with guys going around to get tipps and to sell additional things. On the way back, even once we reached Punta Cana, it took for me 1 hour to be left to my hotel, because we were 10 on the second bus, belonging to different hotels. And at each hotel, the guy would bring the people inside to the lobby (in most hotels this is an additional 5-10 minutes drive). This inefficiency and plenty of waste of time is not so important in a vacation lasting 1 month, but in a 1-week vacation one would like to enjoy every single hour, and wasting time like this was extremely upsetting for me. While I understand that organizing a tour with people from different hotels is difficult, it must be their job to find solutions and make the trip smooth, minimizing the time waste, and ensuring that people can actually enjoy the destination. For me for instance, if I have to travel for 10 hours to reach a place, I would like to enjoy it for at least 3-4 hours. And in any case I am sure that those 10 hours could become 7 or 8 with a better organization. We really wasted time at many points. Finally, the worst thing: I was undecided between Saona and Catalina tours. I preferred Catalina because I love snorkeling and because it is closer, so I would have enjoyed more time at the beach. I decided to go to Saona for only one single reason: the advertisement that we would have gone to a place to see starfishes. However this did not happen in the tour. So starfishes watching was false advertisement, and of course extremely upsetting for me, since I gave up snorkeling in Catalina because of the starfishes highlight of the Saona tour. Jackson afterwards gave me as a motivation that from November till March they are not allowed to show starfishes. Fine, understandable from an environmental viewpoint, but if this is the case then showing such a stop on the itinerary on the website is a false advertisement. To conclude: was Saona island beautiful? yes. Was it worth the 10 hours trip to reach it and come back, staying there 2 hours only? Not at all. Read more Written December 26, 2023

Haremos otros tours con ellos siempre que posible. We did the Saona Island tour and Jackana Tours took really great care of us. Very smooth sailing, a lot of fun and everything done with the heart. The whole experience was really enjoyable & everyone we met on the shared boat became family that day! The staff on the boat made sure we were always on schedule & satisfied during the ride! To get on the boat, you'll have to take about a 15-20 min drive from the meeting point from the bus(JackCana Transportation included in your tour) to take you to the boating dock area to Isla Saona. Onboard throughout the boat ride, you'll be entertained by a live jazz musician playing pop songs, watch a Dominican cultured dance, & party to the music where you'll want to get up and dance! All ages are welcome aboard. My daughter is 6 years old and loved every moment of It! Once you're on the boat you can expect to be carted to with beverages and any other needs to keep you happy! A photographer is also on the boat to capture every fun filled moment on the boat available for purchase so can put down your phone to stay in the present! Before reaching Isla Saona we made a stop at a lagoon area where we were able to snorkel and enjoy an open bar in the water. Literally, this was the coolest part for me; just hanging out in the middle of the ocean enjoying a drink while cooling off in the ocean. Arriving at the island we're free to roam around and enjoy the crystal clear waters and the sandy beach until it's time for lunch! Lunch was served as a Dominican buffet style & we were able to choose what we wanted to eat. The food was really good and filling. I've had experiences of previous boat tours where we're fed finger foods and snacks. So touring with JanaCana you get your money's worth for sure!
