Simple Flying

Flight review: british airways euro traveller - a320 cologne to gatwick.

Today I had the pleasure of joining British Airways for a flight after Christmas. After visiting my partner's family, we needed to get home. A range of options for flights was considered, however, when it transpired that it would be cheaper to get the bus to Cologne and then fly with British Airways to London than to fly with Ryanair from Frankfurt , my mind was made up.

Booking the flight was actually a relatively painless procedure. Compared to the complexity of a Ryanair booking, with British Airways I had three simple options. This included basic economy, economy plus, and business. We opted for economy plus as we needed the additional luggage. All in all, we were able to check two suitcases each weighing 23kg, in addition to a standard cabin bag each. We paid a total of €67.76 for two tickets from Cologne to Gatwick. Booking Score: ✈︎✈︎✈︎✈︎

Check-in was one of the only major things that let us down overall. We decided not to pay to reserve seats as the website informed me that upon checking in at T-24 hours, the choice would be free. Imagine my horror when I discovered that online check-in was not available for my booking.

We arrived at the airport around three hours before the flight with check-in opening around two hours before. Despite being at the check-in desk when it opened, we still had to queue for 30 minutes to reach the desk. It seems as though online check-in wasn't available for anybody on the flight. At the desk, the check-in agent didn't greet me, instead just taking our passports and swiping them. It should be noted that the check-in agent wasn't a British Airways employee. I asked for a fragile sticker as I had a couple of bottles in my suitcase, but was told that they didn't have any. I was given a priority luggage tag instead. Thankfully, despite not being able to choose a seat, my partner and I were allocated 5E and 5F, at the very front of the economy cabin (more on that later). Check-in Score: ✈︎✈︎

Overall, boarding the aircraft was relatively painless, although there were a few hiccups. Due to the layout of the airport, the A320 was located away from the terminal. As such, it was necessary to take a bus to the aircraft. There was some confusion over which gate would be used. This was initially advertised as gate 22, down a staircase, but when it became clear that another flight was using the gate for too long, this was changed to gate 20, back up the stairs. There were two buses provided to the aircraft, both a significant time apart. Once we reached the aircraft we boarded and we directed to our seats by the friendly cabin crew. Boarding Score: ✈︎✈︎✈︎✈︎

All in all, I was very impressed with the seat provided by British Airways. The aircraft has an advertised pitch of 30 inches. As a 6ft 3in man, I had no problem with legroom. In fact, I had room to spare. I didn't notice any discomfort with the seat at all.

The only slight complaint regarding the seat was due to its location. Being the first seat in economy, there was a black curtain directly in front of me. As such, I had nowhere to look for the majority of the flight. Additionally, due to the curtain, I had no access to an air vent. This was mildly uncomfortable, as the early portion of the flight seemed quite stuffy and it would've been appreciated. Seat Score: ✈︎✈︎✈︎

In-Flight Service

The in-flight service is potentially where this flight scored highest. I'm consistently blown away by the friendliness and professionalism of British Airways staff. Upon boarding, we were greeted with a smile and welcomed to the aircraft.

We were aware that food is no longer complimentary on British Airways flights to Heathrow and Gatwick. As such, I had had a browse of the M&S menu prior to boarding the flight. One thing stood out to me, the Emmental and Mushroom toastie. I was disappointed to see a symbol that said this option was not available on shorter flights, however, on asking the cabin crew I was told this was on offer. My order was placed, and I was advised that it would take 10 minutes to heat. I wasn't disappointed. Despite not being as mushroomy as the picture suggested (I only had 4 or 5 big slices of mushroom), the toastie was delicious. I'm not usually one to pay for food on a plane, but any time I fly British Airways I would now buy this.

The toastie was accompanied by a Kenco Latte, and a packet of "Globetrotting Percy Pig". My partner ordered the porridge, which was a little too runny for her, but enjoyable none the less. The latte was initially way too hot for me, somebody who usually orders their drinks "kids temperature". I decided to leave it to cool until after my toastie had arrived, and in the end, was still drinking it while we taxied to the gate. As such, I had to hold it during the descent and landing. I didn't get a chance to open the Percy Pigs on the flight, as by the time I finished the toastie, we were beginning our descent. All in all, the food cost a total of £10.75. Service Score: ✈︎✈︎✈︎✈︎✈︎

The Flight Overall

[ege_cards_related id="15"]

Overall the flight was mostly pleasant and problem free. We didn't experience any turbulence, and the pilot kept us up to date throughout the flight. Despite departing 14 minutes late, we arrived at the gate only 3 minutes late. The initial problems encountered with check-in were more than cancelled out by the flight itself. I would fly this flight again. Final Score: ✈︎✈︎✈︎✈︎

What is premium economy on British Airways?

British airways premium economy seats, food and drink in british airways premium economy, amenities and other perks of british airways premium economy, how much is premium economy on british airways, 4 ways to save money on british airways premium economy, use avios to book a premium economy ticket on british airways, is british airways premium economy worth it.

Flying in economy just isn't what it used to be. Over the decades, many airlines have reduced legroom, squeezed more seats into each row and cut back on services. Many travelers can't afford to pay for business class, but there is a Goldilocks middle ground: premium economy. Arguably, one of the better premium economy products available is British Airways premium economy, also known as World Traveller Plus.

Let's take a look at British Airways' premium economy, including what you'll find onboard, how the experience differs from economy and how you can save money on these seats.

British Airways’s premium economy class is called World Traveller Plus. The other classes on its flights include economy (Euro Traveller and World Traveller) , business class and first class.

World Traveller Plus is situated in its own separate cabin, which is closer to the front of the plane than economy. The seats are wider and offer more legroom than the seats in economy. In addition, passengers receive priority boarding, a more generous baggage allowance, two meals, complimentary alcoholic beverages, noise-canceling headphones for the personal entertainment system and an amenity kit.

For many passengers, the main reason to book premium economy instead of economy is the larger seats. And British Airways certainly delivers in this regard.

Compared with economy, British Airways World Traveller Plus gives you more space in all directions — more seat width, legroom and recline. Tall passengers can rejoice: British Airways premium economy provides 7 inches of additional legroom — measuring 38 inches of pitch vs. just 31 inches of pitch in economy.

In addition to a substantial recline, British Airways premium economy seats offer a fold-out leg rest and a fold-down footrest.

Throughout the cabin, you'll find a large, fixed armrest between each seat. Although this slightly reduces seat width, it means that you shouldn't need to battle your neighbor for control of the armrest. At the front of each armrest, a cup tray provides enough space for two glasses. And you'll find a water bottle holder between the footrests in each seat pairing.

Depending on the aircraft type, the British Airways premium economy cabin is either arranged 2-3-2 or 2-4-2. This means there are two seats by the windows and three or four seats in the middle column of seats. This arrangement makes British Airways premium economy a great option for couples traveling together who prefer to have their own two-seat row.

Each British Airways premium economy seat has a large, bright 12-inch touchscreen with seemingly endless entertainment options. This is a substantial upgrade from what British Airways offered prior to a recent cabin refresh.

Below the in-flight entertainment screen, British Airways installed a storage tray. This provides a convenient place to store your phone, passport, boarding pass or other items you want nearby — but not in your pockets — while in-flight.

» Learn more: Basic economy vs. main cabin

In addition to bigger and better seats, British Airways provides notably better food and drink service in premium economy compared to economy.

This elevated service starts before the wheels even leave the ground. Flight attendants pass through the cabin offering pre-departure beverages of orange juice or water, served in real glassware. Although sparkling wine is available in-flight, it's not available on the ground in the World Traveller Plus cabin.

In-flight, British Airways advertises that World Traveller Plus passengers get "two delicious meals, complimentary bar service including signature cocktails (or mocktail)."

Here's what that looks like in practice.

does ba euro traveller include baggage

Flight attendants pass through the cabin shortly after takeoff to provide a selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. In my experience, flight attendants proactively provide doubles of alcoholic beverages. Plus, you'll get a choice of wine to go with your dinner.

does ba euro traveller include baggage

For meal choices, menus aren't provided to passengers. Instead, flight attendants note the meal options as they pass through the cabin. British Airways offers two options — typically one vegetarian and one meat-based meal. Meals are generally served with a salad, a packaged roll, a dessert and a choice between several types of wines — typically two reds and two whites.

does ba euro traveller include baggage

While the first meal is hot and meets premium economy standards, the second is generally a cold, packaged meal served in a brown paper bag. Although perfectly adequate, I haven't found this meal to be particularly "delicious" — falling short of what British Airways advertises.

British Airways premium economy doesn't just provide bigger seats and better meals. British Airways World Traveller Plus passengers also get better amenities and additional perks like priority boarding.

British Airways premium economy amenity kit, pillow and blanket

At boarding, World Traveller Plus seats are typically stocked with a small pillow, blanket and a plastic-wrapped package including noise-canceling headphones and an amenity kit.

The British Airways premium economy amenity kit includes socks, an eye mask, lip balm, a pen, a toothbrush and toothpaste. Earplugs are available on request.

Other perks of British Airways premium economy

Extra baggage allowance: British Airways premium economy typically allows two free checked bags at no additional cost. Comparatively, some British Airways economy fares are "hand baggage only" and charge up to $175 each way for two checked bags.

Priority boarding: British Airways World Traveller Plus passengers board no later than Group 3 boarding. Meanwhile, economy boarding groups stretch to Group 9.

Universal power outlets: The recent refresh to British Airways economy cabins only provides USB power outlets in economy. However, you'll still find two universal power outlets between each pairing of World Traveller Plus seats in addition to a USB outlet.

Unsurprisingly, you can expect to pay more than economy — but less than business class — if you want to fly in the premium economy cabin on British Airways.

We did a fare search for a roundtrip flight from New York-John F. Kennedy to London and found that on the 7:35 p.m. flight, premium economy ($1,162) is more than double the cost of economy ($532) and only slightly cheaper than business class ($1,222).

A flight departing just 30 minutes later (and landing in London-Gatwick) was an even worse deal, offering a $608 premium economy seat, which was nearly triple the cost of economy ($233). Business class was significantly more expensive at nearly $3,000.

does ba euro traveller include baggage

On the return leg, premium economy was $851, compared to $504 in economy and $1,540 in business class.

does ba euro traveller include baggage

If you chose the more affordable outgoing option in premium economy, you’d be looking at $1,459 total for the round-trip flight, compared to $737 in economy. The cheapest round-trip business class option would cost $2,762.

There are a few ways to save money when booking the Traveller Plus cabin on British Airways.

1. Get $65-$200 off as an AARP member

does ba euro traveller include baggage

If you’re a member of the American Association of Retired Persons (AARP), when you book a roundtrip transatlantic flight on British Airways, you can save $65 off economy or premium economy seats and $200 off business class. Although $65 isn’t a huge discount, it could help offset the difference between economy and premium economy.

Although AARP is a nonprofit organization that offers money-saving benefits for Americans over 50, you do not need to be 50 to join. You just need to sign up and the benefits are yours to enjoy. The standard cost of the membership ranges is $16 per year, but the price could be lower depending on how long you want to commit.

Check Cashback Monitor to see if there are any shopping portals offering bonus points for signing up for an AARP membership.

2. Book a British Airways flight through a shopping portal

Another way to save money on your premium economy fare on British Airways is to purchase the ticket through a shopping portal. Browse through Cashback Monitor to see what the current savings are.

does ba euro traveller include baggage

The search result shows that Top Cashback is offering up to 1.51% cash back on British Airways. However, you need to look at the details to make sure that the flight qualifies for the discount.

Clicking on the Top Cashback link shows that the discount on long-haul flights is only 1.01%. So, if you were to book a $1,000 premium economy ticket and click through Top Cashback, you would earn $10.10 in cash, which isn’t much but still provides some savings.

3. Use a British Airways credit card to save 10% and statement credits

The British Airways Visa Signature® Card offers several money saving perks on purchase of British Airways flights.

Cardholders get a 10% discount on all British Airways flights originating in the U.S. You would need to book the flight on ba.com/chase10 and use the promotion code CHASEBA10. Assuming you book a $1,000 premium economy ticket, you’d save $100 off that flight.

Cardholders who book award flights to London can earn statement credits of $100 in economy and premium economy and $200 in first and business class. The statement credits can be earned three times per year, maxing out at $600. To earn the credits, cardholders will need to use the British Airways Visa Signature® Card to pay for award taxes, fees and carrier surcharges on the award flight.

This is a useful benefit, especially since taxes and fuel surcharges on British Airways award tickets can be extraordinarily high.

If you have British Airways Avios, you can also use those points to book an award flight. Here’s an example flight search from New York-JFK to London-Heathrow showing three available classes:

does ba euro traveller include baggage

If we compare the pricing, in economy, the ticket costs 25,000 Avios + $100 in taxes. Premium economy costs 42,500 Avios + $280 in taxes. British Airways adds on high taxes and fuel surcharges so you’ll need to weigh the price in miles (+ taxes) against a cash ticket.

Using our $608 premium economy flight example from above, if you were to pay for this seat in Avios, you’d extract 0.8 cent per mile ($608 - $280 / 42,500). NerdWallet values British Airways Avios at 0.8 cent per mile when redeemed for economy fares. This probably isn’t the highest value per point you’ll find at the premium economy level, but it’s about the same number of points that you would expect to pay in economy. If the flight in cash was more expensive, using Avios for the award ticket would be much more justifiable.

Another factor to consider is that British Airways used a distance based award chart , so the cost of the flight in Avios will depend on how far away your origin is from your destination.

» Learn more: The guide to British Airways Executive Club

British Airways premium economy is found on all long-haul international aircraft. This includes British Airways:

Airbus A350-1000 aircraft.

Airbus A380-800 aircraft.

Boeing 777-200 and 777-300 aircraft.

Boeing 787-8, 787-9 and 787-10 Dreamliner aircraft.

British Airways passengers can upgrade to premium economy using cash or Avios — either in advance or at the airport. However, you cannot purchase an upgrade once onboard. The cash upgrade price generally depends on the route and availability. However, Avios upgrade prices are set based on the Avios award price difference between the two cabins.

» Learn more: How (and why) to upgrade your British Airways flight using Avios

Thanks to a recent cabin refresh, the British Airways cabin now appears fresh and sharp. British Airways premium economy consists of four to nine rows of seating — depending on the aircraft — and is found between the business class and economy cabins. Each row is configured with two window seats on each side and either three or four seats in the middle section.

Yes, British Airways premium economy earns more British Airways Avios — or miles if you credit flights to another mileage program. When crediting flights to the British Airways Executive Club, you'll earn Avios at a rate of 100% or 150% of the flight miles, depending on the fare you book. Comparatively, you earn as few as 25% of flight miles when booking economy fares.

Likewise, American Airlines flyers earn up to four times more base AAdvantage miles when booking premium economy than economy. Since Loyalty Points are based on mileage earnings, you'll also earn quadruple the elite status credits. These extra miles and elite status credits can help justify the increased cost of premium economy for those debating if it's worth upgrading.

British Airways premium economy represents a significant step up from economy. You'll get a bigger seat with extra legroom and recline. Plus, passengers get better food and drink options along with extra perks like priority boarding and extra baggage allowance. And mileage collectors and elite status members will appreciate earning extra miles and elite-status credits.

British Airways utilizes a pretty classic baggage allowance system, dependent on cabin class.

Fees for additional luggage per piece depend on when you purchase your baggage allowance, your cabin class, and lastly (at times), whether you’re flying out of Gatwick/Stanstead or any other route.

The British Airways baggage policy can get a little confusing at times — we hope our guide clears things up a bit!

Frequently Asked Questions

How much can my suitcase weigh on british airways.

When flying British Airways, all checked bags must not exceed 51 pounds (23 kg) for economy and premium economy passengers and 70 pounds (32 kg) for business and first class passengers. Bags that are heavier than these standard allowances will be subject to excess baggage fees. Standard carry-on baggage cannot weigh more than 51 pounds (23 kg).

Is luggage included with British Airways?

Luggage is included with British Airways on all fares apart from its economy basic fare (hand baggage only). The standard allowance is 1 bag (50 pounds/23 kg) for economy (apart from selected routes which allow 2), 2 bags for premium economy (50 pounds/23 kg each), 2 bags for business class (70 pounds/32 kg) and 3 bags for first class (70 pounds/32 kg).

How big can a carry-on bag be for British Airways?

British Airways allows passengers to bring 1 standard piece of carry-on that must not exceed 22 x 18 x 10 inches (56 x 45 x 25 cm) with a maximum weight of 51 pounds (23 kg). An additional personal item can be brought onboard that cannot be larger than 16 x 12 x 6 inches (40 x 30 x 15 cm) with the same weight allowance as a standard carry-on piece.

How much is excess baggage on British Airways?

Excess baggage fees for British Airways depend on the route. If your bag exceeds the standard baggage allowance weighing 51 to 70 pounds (23 to 32 kg) then you will be subject to a fee of $100. Baggage heavier than 70 pounds (32 kg) will not be accepted by British Airways. Baggage that is larger than the standard checked baggage allowance of 35.5 x 29.5 x 16 inches (90 x 75 x 43 cm) is permitted up to 75 x 29.5 x 25.5 inches (190 x 75 x 65 cm) and BA states that it currently waives the fee but this might come into effect at some point in the future.

Review: British Airways EuroTraveller from Glasgow to London

During my time in the BA lounge in Glasgow , the flight was progressively delayed, but eventually it was time to board. We headed on down the aerobridge to the plane.

BA1479 – Glasgow to London Heathrow (GLA-LHR) 2 July 2022 Airbus A320 – G-EUUG Seat: Economy 17F Departure: 10:50 Arrival: 12:20

Once on board, I headed down towards the back of the aircraft and found my seat. After putting my bag in the overhead, I sat down and took stock of my surroundings.

The EuroTraveller Seat and Cabin

On this aircraft, the seats are all the same, no matter whether you’re flying Club Europe or EuroTraveller. There is plenty of room if you’re not too tall or too well built.

Dance of the Baggage Containers

It’s not often that I sit on the right hand side of the aircraft, which is the side the baggage is loaded. I am usually also a bit further forward so I enjoyed seeing the luggage being loaded outside my window.

As you can see above in the two minute video, it’s quite a well oiled operation, getting everything inside as quickly as possible. We eventually were ready to go, had the manual safety demonstration and headed into the sky, well over an hour late.

A Visit To The Tiny Toilet

I hate asking the people next to me to get up when I have to use the facilities. However needs must and they hauled themselves up so I could visit the rear toilet. These are the Airbus SpaceFlex ones, which means they are hilariously tiny.

Flying and Eating

British Airways offers EuroTraveller passengers a complementary snack and drink. This comprises of a small bottle of water and a packet of crisps.

Overall Thoughts

For a sector not too much over an hour, it’s quite a comfortable way to fly. You would hopefully not be too hungry as you’re not given much, but it is a step up from the days when British Airways served nothing and you had to buy from the menu or not eat.

The delay wasn’t particularly welcome, but this was during a lot of disruption so I was pleased the flight went ahead. Considering how cheap the fares can be, you can’t ask for much more than to get to your destination successfully.

What do you think of BA EuroTraveller? Should there be more served or is this good? Thank you for reading and if you have any comments or questions, please leave them below.

Most racist company I’ve ever come across, i was attacked on the plane, then blamed for it and told to leave the flight while the man that hit and spat and me was allowed. Had no care for my disability or the fact i had my documents and and my mums medication on me. I would suggest not to fly with this company if you are of color as the cabin staff are very racists and sexist. And have no care or soul for the passengers welfare

The Flight Detective

Well, I hope you made a formal complaint to the airline! It’s the only way that these things will be rectified.

What is British Airways Club Europe? My complete guide

does ba euro traveller include baggage

I think we can all agree that Business Class is pretty terrific. Lounge access, bigger seats and free champagne are definitely popular! British Airways Club Europe is the name of their short haul Business Class. A lot of people like it (i.e. me!). Some people absolutely hate it. The Club Europe seat isn’t the best. It’s an economy seat, with the middle seat blocked out. However, you also get tons of extras with your ticket, like lounge access and extra baggage. In this article, I’ll explain exactly what to expect when you fly Club Europe. British Airways fly Club Europe for shorter flights. These aircraft will be narrow body aircraft with a single aisle. All flights to Europe (from London) have Club Europe cabins. In addition, flights to North Africa often have Club Europe Cabins. The flight from London to Marrakech is 5 hours. You probably don’t want to spend 5 hours in a Club Europe seat! The space is tiny, and there’s no in flight entertainment. If you fly further away from London (e.g. to US or Asia), then their business class is renamed Club World. Club World has a fully flat bed in business class.

BA often discount their Club Europe Seats

does ba euro traveller include baggage

British Airways frequently has sales, for Club Europe Seats. They often have great deals, with return flights starting at £200. I paid £200 to fly to Amsterdam in Club Europe and I paid £250 to fly to Copenhagen. Even outside of sales, they often have good value fares. One great tool that BA have is their low fare finder . You can find the very lowest fares for many destinations at once. If you’re flexible, then you can get the lowest prices. It’s a great tool. More airlines should have it. Another great deal on offer is from Marriott Timeshare. You can stay at one of their resorts for an 80% discount. You also get 50,000 Bonvoy Points and free car hire. You’ll need to sit through a presentation about the Marriott Timeshare Program. If you want to book up a ‘preview package’, then please email me . Provide your name, email, phone number (with country code), and the city you live in. There’s no obligation to buy anything. You could easily say no and walk away! I have some really cool reviews of Marriott Timeshare properties on my blog. Playa Andaluza is a beautiful beach resort in Marbella. Crystal Shores is basically the place to be. A stunning resort on the Gulf Coast of Florida. I had a top floor apartment that was EPIC!

Club Europe tickets come with lots of extras

does ba euro traveller include baggage

The Club Europe seat is a normal economy seat, with an empty middle seat next to you. This upsets a lot of people, but it’s only one side of the story. When you book BA Club Europe, you get tons of extras with the booking:

  • Use the Business Class check in desks
  • Check in 2 bags per person
  • Access to business class lounges
  • Full meal service and bar service on board. Champagne Included
  • Extra Avios and Tier Points Earned
  • Sit at the front of the plane, in the Club Europe Cabin

That’s a lot of bang for your buck in my view. Especially as BA often discount their flights heavily. One really cool benefit is that you can check in 2 bags per person. I travel a lot with my family, and need to check in bags. Economy tickets don’t come with checked baggage as standard. When you add in the cost to check in a bag, it can get pretty expensive. You’re often better off to pay £200 to fly in Club Europe. Another underappreciated benefit is the use of the Business Class check-in desks. The length of economy check-in lines can be horrible. For an impatient man like me, it’s a great benefit!

Get access to BA’s Flagship Lounges

does ba euro traveller include baggage

When you fly with British Airways Club Europe, you get to access BA’s network of lounges. In London, that means you can use the flagship lounges in Heathrow Airport. This is a pretty nice perk, and compares impressively to flights in the US. Most US airlines don’t offer lounge access to business class passengers, when flying domestically. You have to pay for access! Let that sink in for a second. A Business class transcontinental flight from New York to LA would cost around $2,000. For that, you’ll get a flat bed, but you won’t get access to the lounge. This is one reason why I really appreciate the Club Europe Product. For your £200 fare, you get so much. How good are the lounges in Heathrow? They’re pretty good, although I’m not a fan of their breakfasts! They don’t have a full English Breakfast, but just bacon, eggs and rolls. You can make your own sandwich. For veggies, the only hot dish is porridge. Apart from the breakfast, everything is impressive. The lounges are bright and spacious. They also have a full bar service.

The Seat and Cabin

does ba euro traveller include baggage

And here’s where it all went wrong! Like all airlines in Europe, BA don’t have a proper business class seat. They simply offer an ordinary economy seat, but with the middle seat left empty. They put a tray table in the middle seat. I absolutely hate the tray table – most other European airlines don’t bother with a tray table in business class. They just leave the middle seat empty. I prefer this, as it’s better for my kids. If my daughter wants to sleep, she can stretch out over 2 seats. That’s not possible if there’s a tray table on the seat! This sort of configuration is terrific for airlines. It means that they can grow and shrink their business cabin, depending on the demand. It’s very efficient for airlines to operate like this. British Airways have a curtain to separate the Club Europe cabin to economy. The toilet at the front is for the use of Club Europe passengers. However, this is rarely enforced. Customers often go through the curtain and use the business class toilet. The seats have power points to charge to your phone and use your laptop. One thing they don’t have in the seats is in flight entertainment. This is an important consideration, especially on the longer flights. I mentioned above that the flight to Marrakech is 5 hours. So you need to bring your own devices to entertain yourself.

The Food and Drinks Service

does ba euro traveller include baggage

The Club Europe Catering is amongst the best, when it comes to airline food. Airline food is nearly always crap! On shorter flights, your meal will be served on one tray. In my experience, you’ll always get a hot meal, even on a 1 hour flight to Paris. For longer flights, you’ll get a choice of meals. The meals will be more substantial, and your starter will be served separately. Although, as you’re sitting in an ordinary seat, you need to eat off a tiny tray table. There’s a full bar service in Club Europe. This includes champagne, which is a nice touch. On a recent flight to Amsterdam ( review here ), my neighbour really went to town on the free bar. He had about 5 drinks during the 1 hour flight. I guess he wanted his money’s worth! Unlike long haul flights, BA won’t offer you a drink on the ground.

does ba euro traveller include baggage

So what is British Airways Club Europe ? Well now you know! It’s British Airways Short Haul Business Class service. The service definitely has its detractors – you don’t get a proper business class seat. However, flights are often terrific value. You also get extras like lounge access and extra baggage. I personally love the Club Europe service and think it’s great value.

British Airways flagship business lounge is in Heathrow Terminal 5. The review is in this article . The lounge is at the south end of the terminal and is massive. It’s a lovely space. They also have a kids play area with a model airport!

Club World is the name of British Airways Long Haul Business Class. They have a fabulous suite with a private door. This article is a review of my recent flight to Los Angeles. The food was high quality, and I got a lovely Amenity Kit from The White Company. British Airways main competitor is Virgin Atlantic. I flew their business class from London to Mumbai . The flight was a mixed bag. The seat was showing its age and the TV was very small. However, I enjoyed the food and the crew were lovely. My Business Class Flight on Etihad was much better! I have nothing to complain about. The food was excellent – although fattening. The seat was comfortable and spacious. I also loved the Acqua Di Parma amenity kit.
