Are you based in Sarasota and looking for ways to explore the rest of Florida? Here are the best day trips from Sarasota Florida!

Sarasota is a wonderful spot to visit [and live, I’m sure] on the mid-Gulf Coast of Florida. Just a tad south of Tampa and St Petersburg, there’s a quieter city that’s just waiting to be explored. It has an amazing vegan scene [and, in fact, was named best vegan city by Rent.com] and has some of the best beaches right at its doorstep. Aside from being a great city to visit, it’s also a great spot to base yourself as there are plenty of amazing day trips from Sarasota Florida.

Hotel Indigo

Hotel Indigo is one of my favorite chain hotels if I need to stay in a chain hotel. I really enjoyed my stay at Hotel Indigo Sarasota when i was there for its great proximity. I was able to walk to several vegan restaurants in Sarasota and it was just a short drive to Siesta Key Beach.

The Sarasota Modern

The Sarasota Modern is right next door to Hotel Indigo so while I haven’t stayed there, I can attest to its great location. They’re equipped with stylish, minimalist rooms, balconies, and more.

The Ritz Carlton

Overlooking the bay, The Ritz Carlton is located in the former home of John Ringling. The rooms are large and many have balconies. Other amenities include restaurants, a tiki bar, a spa, golf course, and outdoor pool.

Day Trips from Sarasota Florida – One Hour or Less

I realize everybody’s idea of a day trip is different. I’ve personally considered things four hours or less to be day trips but I know that sounds absolutely insane to some. I’ll break down these day trips from Sarasota Florida by time with this first section being only one hour or less from Sarasota.

Venice Beach – 35 minutes

Not too far from Sarasota, you can visit a beach and what is commonly referred to as the Shark Tooth Capital of the World.” By visiting this beach, you have a very good chance of finding shark teeth just by sifting through the sand in knee-deep water. You have an even larger chance by doing a dive trip further out or swimming out a bit further and snorkeling.

You can even find megalodon shark teeth – particularly by scuba diving. I’ve written some tips about visiting Venice and hunting for shark teeth . For the sake of ethics, this is a much better [and more fun!] way to acquire shark teeth. By buying them in stores, you can not guarantee their whereabouts and if it has attributed to the horrible sharking industry .

St. Petersburg – 45 minutes

St. Petersburg is an incredibly fun and hip city just 45 minutes north of Sarasota. It’s part of the Tampa Bay area and just 15-20 minutes south of Tampa. St. Petersburg is home to stunning, award-winning beaches, an incredible Salvador Dali Museum, Fort De Soto Park, and a delicious vegan scene.

St. Petersburg is popular amongst the younger generation in Florida and has a vibrant street art scene, lots of vintage stores and antique shopping opportunities, independent bookstores, and more.

Tampa – 60 minutes

Tampa has a lot going on with lots of green space, hip bars and restaurants, historical architecture, pro sports teams, theme parks, and more. There’s a little bit of everything for everyone and is definitely one of the best options for day trips from Sarasota Florida.

Tampa is much more a city destination than it is a beach destination so keep that in mind when you’re determining where you want to go.

Day Trips from Sarasota Florida – Two Hours or Less

Caladesi island state park – 90 minutes.

If you’re looking for day trips from Sarasota, Florida that are off the beaten path and get you back in touch with nature then Caladesi Island State Park is the spot for you. This park is only accessible by private boat, ferry, or by walking at low tide.

The beaches are pristine, the nature trail is secluded and beautiful, kayaking through the mangrove forest is unique, and there’s a good possibility of seeing dolphins and other wildlife.

Disney World – 1 hour and 45 minutes

You may be surprised how close Sarasota is to Disney World – less than two hours! If you don’t have time to do a fully Disney vacation, but still want to see Mickey at least once, then a day trip from Sarasota Florida is definitely possible!

Honeymoon Island State Park – 90 minutes

A little easier to get to than Caladesi Island State Park, Honeymoon Island is another day trip option. You could even tie the two together considering you must go through Honeymoon Island State Park to take the ferry to Caladesi Island State Park.

Honeymoon Island State Park is one of Florida’s most-loved state parks with four miles of beaches, a three-mile nature trail, wildlife to be seen, and more. You can swim, hike, bike, and even surf here!

Day Trips from Sarasota Florida – Four Hours or Less

Blue heron bridge – 3 hours.

If you’re a diver or snorkeler, a day trip from Sarasota Florida to Blue Heron Bridge in West Palm Beach is absolutely worth it. Blue Heron Bridge is one of the world’s best dive sites and Sport Diver Magazine voted it as “The Best Dive Site in the World” in 2013. The biodiversity and easy access make this a must a dive site.

Given its access, this is perfect for snorkelers too so don’t worry if you’re not a diver!

Silver Springs State Park – 2.5 hours

Silver Springs State Park is located under three hours away from Sarasota. It’s, of course, a Florida state park but it’s also the location of Florida’s first tourist attraction which dates back to the late 1800s.

In modern times, you can kayak down the river and have a prime location to see manatees in the winter. You can also likely see alligators and believe it or not, monkeys! There are a lot of things you need to know about ethically interacting with manatees .

Fort Lauderdale – 3 hours

North of Miami, Fort Lauderdale has a much different atmosphere to its southern neighbor. You’ll still find beautiful beaches and plenty of things to do though. Something I absolutely recommend doing though is seeing baby sea turtles hatch . There are certain times of year you can see this and the best thing to do is visit via turtle rescue organization.

Miami – 3.5 hours

A post about the day trips from Sarasota Florida wouldn’t be complete without a mention of Miami. It may be a bit of a stretch distance-wise, but Miami is full of energy, bright lights, and gorgeous beaches so it’s worth a visit at least once at some point.

There’s an insane street art scene, amazing art deco buildings, a delicious vegan scene and more.

Deerfield Beach – 3.5 hours

Another great shore diving location is the Deerfield Beach pier . Head to this beach north of Fort Lauderdale for a great chance at seeing turtles and other marine wildlife.

There are quite a few logistical things to have straightened out before you go. There are reef sections both north and south of the pier and for the sake of transparency, I only dove the north end of the pier.

5 Can’t-Miss Florida Day Trips Near Sarasota and Bradenton

Looking for day trip ideas from the Sarasota or Bradenton area? We’ve got you covered.

Sarasota and Bradenton are nicely situated to explore what the Sunshine State has to offer. Although both are coastal towns on the Southwest Gulf, they’re just close enough to the middle of the state to make Tampa about an hour away, Orlando two hours, West Palm Beach three hours, and Miami four hours. However, we share here some day trip ideas that go beyond those busier destinations. We also focus for the most part on outdoors destinations, although we do make mention of a few indoors sights. If you’re reading this article during the pandemic, follow any recommended safety precautions while indoors.

All right—let’s go explore.

1. Sebring and Lake Placid

Florida isn’t just about the coastlines. On the drive to Sebring, located smack dab in the middle of the Sunshine State, you’ll meander on backroads where you can spot wildlife like birds, deer, wild turkey, and farm animals like cows. Sebring itself is mostly a retiree enclave, but it’s also famous for the 12 Hours of Sebring annual race. We recommend Sebring as a slower-paced day trip escape. Make sure to include Highlands Hammock State Park in your visit and its canopy walkway for prime nature viewing (the trip to Sebring is worth a visit alone for Highlands Hammock). You can also make your way to the Sebring pier on Lake Jackson and visit Sebring Soda & Ice Cream Works , which sells 300 different types of sodas.

About 20 minutes south of Sebring is Lake Placid, a town with several nicknames, including The Caladium Capital of the World (96% of the world’s caladiums are grown there) and the Town of Murals. That’s because the town has more than 50 murals depicting Florida and Lake Placid history. It’s also home to a clown school. Both Sebring and Lake Placid offer a small town feel with quaint shops and eateries.

Distance : 1 ½ to 2 hours from Bradenton and Sarasota

2. Boca Grande

Boca Grande is not that far at all from Sarasota and Bradenton, but it tends to fly under the radar. However, if you’re an angler, you’ve likely heard of Boca Grande as it’s the Tarpon Capital of the World, attracting fishermen from around the globe for good catches. Otherwise, Boca Grande is an upscale but understated coastal area, famous for the historic Gasparilla Inn and its two lighthouses. It’s the sort of place where when you cross the Gasparilla Bridge to get there (and shell out $6), you’ll feel like you’re crossing into another laidback way of life.

Distance: 1 to 1 ½ hours from Bradenton and Sarasota

3. Paynes Prairie Preserve State Park and Micanopy

Located south of Gainesville, Paynes Prairie Preserve State Park encompasses more than 21,000 acres with several different park entrances. Although Florida has lots of beautiful parks, the big draws at Paynes are the wild bison and wild horses. The bison live on the—take a guess?—prairie of the park. You won’t always spot them but if you do, you’ll feel like you’re out West. The wild horses wander in the park and while we didn’t see them during our visit, we did see, um, evidence that they had passed by pretty recently. Paynes Prairie also offers excellent views of birds (300 species), alligators, and deer. The park is designated as a National Natural Landmark.

Before or after your visit to Paynes Prairie, make the short drive to the charming small town of Micanopy (pronounced mi-ka-no-pee). It has real Southern charm with historic mansions, billowing trees with Spanish moss, and antique and arts shops. There are also a couple of eateries where you can sit outdoors and people watch or enjoy live music. Often called “the town that time forgot,” Hollywood filmmakers haven’t forgotten Micanopy. Footage from the town appears in films like “Doc Hollywood.” The late rocker and Gainesville native Tom Petty mentioned Micanopy in his song “A Mind With a Heart of Its Own.”

If you have time to stay overnight, the historic Herlong Mansion Bed & Breakfast is the place to stay.

Distance: 3 hours from Bradenton and Sarasota

Other nearby towns: Gainesville, Ocala

4. Egmont Key State Park and Shell Key Preserve

If you live in West Bradenton or Anna Maria and own a boat, your visit to Egmont Key State Park is only a short boat ride away. If you were a bird, you could fly there. If you have neither a boat nor wings, take in the view while crossing over the Sunshine Skyway Bridge and hop on a ferry that will take you to Egmont Key or Shell Key Preserve .

Egmont Key is a state park that was charted by Spanish explorers in the 1500s and housed soldiers during the Civil War. Nowadays, Egmont has old military buildings, a lighthouse, gorgeous beaches, shells, and several trails. It’s also home to a large gopher tortoise population, so you may just see a tortoise or two or three crossing your path. We thoroughly enjoyed Egmont Key, but you do need to plan ahead, as there are no restrooms and no food for sale. Bring your snacks and drinks, and hit the restroom in advance from places like St. Pete’s Fort De Soto Park (assuming you took the Egmont Key Ferry from the park).

Similarly, Shell Key is a smaller destination that’s near Egmont Key and Fort De Soto Park. The main goal at Shell Key is to find shells, and they definitely are in abundance. If you bring snorkel equipment, you may even find shells underwater that are 6 inches to a foot long, much larger than what you’ll find on a typical day wandering along other beaches. Shell Key also is a great destination to find sand dollars. Again, bring your food and drink. Plus, no restrooms.

There are a few ferry companies that will take you to Egmont Key or Shell Key, but the one that appears to be the largest is Hubbard’s Marina . Keep in mind the cost to take ferry as well as parking and toll costs if you’re starting at Fort De Soto Park.

Distance: A 45-minute to an hour drive to St. Pete’s Fort De Soto Park, then the ferry ride to either destination is about 20 minutes

5. Okeechobee

Talk about Cow Town. Okeechobee is THE place to go if you want to see cattle. It’s the type of town where Florida’s agricultural roots shine through. In fact, Okeechobee County is one of three of the largest cattle-producing counties in the state, according to the Florida Beef Council. Florida ranks 13 in the nation for its cattle production.

Okeechobee has a downtown area with a few small shops, colorful murals, and Flagler Park (which features military helicopter and tank as well as a colorful butterfly garden). Okeechobee also has a walkway along the massive Lake Okeechobee, where we spotted gators cruising along in the water. Of course, a lake means good fishing, and that’s another reason to visit Lake Okeechobee. About 10 to 20 minutes from downtown, we visited Arnold’s Wildlife Rehabilitation Center , which is a full-time home to more than 300 animals. They include panthers, cows, deer, kangaroo, and many others. The friendly staff also rehabilitate animals year-round so they can return to the wild.

Distance: 2½ hours from Bradenton and Sarasota

Sarasota is a beautiful city on Florida’s Gulf Coast. It has so much to offer with one of the top beaches in the state, a beautiful art scene and plenty of nature to explore.

There are so many things to do in Sarasota, but if you want to explore the surrounding areas then there are other incredible destinations near Sarasota as well.

These are our favorite day trips from Sarasota Florida.

Approximate drive time: 1hr 10min

Tampa is a larger city that attracts millions of people every year. It has many fun things to do to choose from that are great options for a day trip from sarasota.

Busch Gardens is one of the top amusement parks in Tampa. It is a mix of an amusement park with a zoo. There you will find roller coasters, live animal habitats, gardens, ziplines, and games. Of course, there is plenty of food to try and shows to see.

If you prefer a waterpark instead, Adventure Island is right next door. With many slides, a lazy river, and pools, it’s the perfect place for a sun-filled day.

To spend the day indoors, one of the best options Tampa has is the Florida Aquarium. It is the biggest in Tampa with over 20,000 animals. The 80-foot glass dome in the Wetlands and the 500,000-gallon Coral Reef habitat are the highlights of the Aquarium.

Approximate drive time: 35min

With a small town feel, Venice is one of the closest cities to be able to get away to. It has a beautiful little downtown lined with historic buildings where you can go for a walk, get some ice cream, or get a bite to eat.

The Centennial park in the middle of downtown is a great place to relax and enjoy the slower pace while still being able to take advantage of all the shops and cafes.

A short walk away from downtown Venice is the Venice Beach. It has warm, blue water with soft white sand, just as pristine as Siesta Key Beach in Sarasota but with half the crowd.

There are also more beaches to explore in Venice where the terrain is more rugged. In fact, Venice is referred to as the “shark capital”. Grab a Venice Snow Shovel for filtering sand and you’ll be able to find many shark teeth and shells.

Weeki Wachi

Approximate drive time: 2hrs

Weeki Wachi is one of Florida’s springs with crystal clear turquoise water. It is one of the deepest springs in Florida and it’s thought to have one of the deepest underwater caves in the world.

They are fun to explore with different options like renting kayaks or a small boat and drifting along the springs, sliding down the waterslides at Buccaneer Bay, or tubing down the “lazy river”.

But what makes these springs the most unique are the mermaids. Since the 1900’s the mermaids have been performing shows in the underwater theater.

It used the be one of the most popular attractions in Florida until Disney World came to Orlando. Even so, it is still a very popular attraction so if you do plan on making it one of your day trips from Sarasota, then be sure to get there early in the morning.

Approximate drive time: 2hrs 20 min

There is so much to do in Orlando that a trip there is always fun. The good news is that Orlando is just a little over two hours drive which is very doable for a day trip from Sarasota.

Walt Disney World is probably the number one thing that people travel to Orlando for, but there are so many other things to do there.

Discovery Cove is a cool opportunity to get up close with dolphins, sharks, rays, and fish. At SeaWorld you can experience thrilling roller coasters and animal exhibits.

Apart from sea-themed entertainment, you can visit Legoland, go for a ride on an airboat, see alligators at Gatorland, or wind down at Harry P. Leu Gardens.

Boca Grande

Approximate drive time: 1 hr 10 min

Boca Grande is one of the hidden gems near Sarasota . The town sits on a beautiful island with picture perfect historic buildings, plentiful beaches and many things to do .

For some time, the town has been known for tarpon fishing and holds an annual tournament every May.

The lighthouses and the Lady of Mercy Church are a few of the best things to see on the island.

You can’t leave the island without dining at the iconic restaurant The Pink Elephant . The eatery is part of the legendary Gasparilla Inn that still has the classic old Florida resort feel.

St. Petersburg

Approximate drive time: 50 min

St. Petersburg is in close proximity to Tampa but a smaller city with yet extraordinary things to do.

The Sunken Gardens, a botanical hideaway in the middle of the city, make it to the top of the list. Then, immerse yourself in the art and history of the Spanish artist Salvador Dali at the Dali Museum.

The St. Pete pier is one of the favorites of locals and visitors alike. You can stroll down the pier or head to St. Pete Beach where you will find soft white sands and turquoise water.

At the Imagine Museum, the carefully curated glass art makes it one of the top museums to see while in the city.

The drive back from St. Pete to Sarasota is an experience in itself when you cruise over the Sunshine Skyway Bridge. You will get to see the exceptional views of Tampa Bay and maybe even catch the sunset colors across the sky.

Punta Gorda

Approximate drive time: 1 hr

You may have not heard of Punta Gorda as much as some of these other destinations, but it has so much to offer.

One of the most unique things to do in Punta Gorda is to look for fossils in the Peace River. There are prehistoric shark teeth and other fossils and bones that you might find.

The Peace River Botanic Gardens are worth a stop too with lunch at the Peace Rive Seafood crab shack after.

Fisherman’s Village is a waterfront shopping, entertainment and dining scene that includes over 30 shops and restaurants and a resort. If you want seafood and to dine with a view, this is one of the best places to do it.

The Village Fishmarket was voted the best seafood in Punta Gorda where you will be served up New England-style seafood.

Sanibel Island

Approximate drive time: 1hr 50min

Imagine yourself on a beautiful island with perfect white sandy beaches, breezy palm trees, and warm turquoise water away from the crowds but enough things to do and you get Sanibel Island.

The Darling National Wildlife Refuge is one of the top attractions on Sanibel Island. With a huge mangrove system, it makes for a great habitat for many animals.

To spend the day, Bowman’s Beach is one of the best places to relax, have fun in the sun, and look for shells.

Blind Pass Beach offers more seclusion and is even more popular among shell collectors. This beach is right by the bridge to Captiva Island which you can explore too.

Ready to eat after a day on the island? Mud Bugs, Grandma Dots, and Mucky Duck are some of the top recommendations.

Known as one of the most luxurious cities in Florida, Naples has an abundance of amazing beaches and incredible food that will help you enjoy the tropical lifestyle to the fullest.

In Naples, you will find many enjoying the beach and it is no surprise as the soft sand and clear water is so welcoming. On the beach is the famous Naples Pier that many like to stroll, especially during sunset.

Year-round, beach bums, art fanatics, and world travelers flock to sunny Sarasota, Florida. This lively destination features stunning scenery, gorgeous weather, and vibrant nightlife. Whether you’re looking for outdoor adventure or a rich cultural scene, you’ll find it here. 

Located on the Gulf Coast, it’s no surprise that the city’s white-sand beaches are a significant attraction. Palm trees and glistening turquoise waves might make you forget you’re on the mainland. 

That said, you can hop off to the islands any time. Siesta Key and Lido Key are just offshore and accessible by car or boat.

While Sarasota offers several exciting opportunities within city limits, you’ll find countless day trips outside town. Here are five picks you might want to explore while in the area.

#1 St. Pete Pier

Some places drive piling into the ground and call it a pier. But in St. Petersburg, it’s much more than a fishing spot. In fact, this city has built an entire district around theirs.

The famous St. Pete Pier stretches out over Tampa Bay. And while you can certainly cast a line from the fishing deck, there’s plenty more to do. Restaurants, green spaces, and exciting attractions are plentiful, and thought-provoking sculptures dot the landscape.

Both kids and adults will love learning about the estuary’s unique ecosystem at the Tampa Bay Watch Discovery Center. Here, you can check out local frog and toad species at the Ribbit Exhibit, sign up for a squid dissection, or join a Sandbar Snorkeling Expedition.

On weekends, the Marketplace comes alive. You’ll find everything from locally crafted artwork and clothing to herbal remedies and Caribbean rum cakes.

Little ones can run amock on the splash pad or playground. Take a step into the past at the St. Petersburg Museum of History. Or simply grab takeout from one of the many on-site restaurants and enjoy a picnic on the lawn. 

About an hour away, St. Pete Pier is a great day trip from Sarasota. But if you’re just passing through town, it’s still an excellent place to stop and stretch your legs. 

#2 Fort De Soto Park

Another spot to explore near St. Petersburg is Fort De Soto Park. Dating back to the Spanish-American War, this former stronghold covers five islands and over 1,100 acres of waterfront real estate. 

Snorkeling, kayaking, and canoeing are popular pastimes. You might spot manatees, sea turtles, and other wildlife swimming among the mangroves. The serene waters of the back bays ensure you won’t have to fight too much of a current. 

Back on land, you might walk, bike, or roller skate along the park’s paved nature trails. Pick up a permit and hunt for treasures with a metal detector. 

If you’re a bird watcher, you can see hundreds of species at any given time. There’s even a dog beach and Paw Playground for your four-legged friends. 

Which Sarasota Beach made the list of The Deadliest Beaches in the USA ?

Pinellas Byway will get you to the fort on Mullet Key. A self-guided tour leads you past Army barracks, the Captain’s Quarters, and an observation tower. Then, jump on the ferry to venture to the more remote islets. 

Of course, Fort De Soto is a great Sarasota day trip. But if 24 hours isn’t enough time, overnight camping is also available on the island. 

#3 Marie Selby Botanical Gardens Historic Spanish Point

You could visit the Marie Selby Botanical Gardens campus in downtown Sarasota. However, the one at Historic Spanish Point is a unique experience. It’s a lush greenspace, archaeological site, and museum rolled into one. 

Explore the grounds, or sign up for a guided tour. Be sure to plan ahead, as you’ll need to reserve your spot a few weeks in advance. They also offer boat tours focusing on local ecosystems, maritime history, and some of the area’s notable early residents. 

Check out the Butterfly House to surround yourself with colorful species such as monarchs, giant swallowtails, and zebra longwings. The flowers they feast from are abundant throughout the exhibit.

Walking through the gardens, you’ll see orchids, bromeliads, and other air plants. Check out the exotic blooms in the Tropical Conservatory and learn about your favorite flora in the Museum of Botany and the Arts. 

Depending on when you visit, Michaels on East might be serving food on-site. Call ahead to see if they’ll be operating. If not, you can grab a bite in Sarasota before heading out on this day trip. Fortunately, it’s only 20 to 30 minutes from town, so you won’t go without a good meal.

#4 Historic Walking Tour of Downtown Venice

Much of Florida’s Gulf Coast caters to the modern tourist. You’re never far from high-end resorts, five-star restaurants, and vibrant nightlife. But historic downtown Venice lets you slip into the past and experience life in the Roaring 20s.

The entire district is on the National Register of Historic Places, so you know it’s authentic.

You’ll have your pick of docent-led walking tours throughout the area. In spring, you can book one through the Venice Museum and Archives. Their architectural historian will guide you past dozens of preserved locales, such as the Schoolcraft building and the Hotel Venice. 

Ghost hunters can search for specters with Venice Florida Tours. You can taste local food and wine with Key Culinary and Sarasota Suncoast. In addition, the Venice Area Historical Society guides visitors through the 1926 train depot. With so many good options, it’s hard to go wrong. 

The city is about 20 miles south of Sarasota, so it’s ideal for a day trip. Depending on traffic, it’ll take between 30 and 50 minutes to make the trek by car.

#5 Imagine Museum

Back in St. Petersburg, feast your eyes on some of the finest glassworks in the world at the Imagine Museum. This establishment features masterpieces from contemporary artists around the globe. 

Included with the price of admission is an audio tour, so you’ll be able to take in the creativity at your own pace. In the theater, you can watch movies on the secrets of glassblowing. Throughout the building, spectacular pieces are on display that might make you rethink the limits of this craft.

And although you may hesitate to take children into a museum full of breakables, they have interactive games and scavenger hunts for kids of all ages. 

On select Fridays, they host Sunset Markets. Vendors set up outside and sell an assortment of handmade items. The museum also offers extended hours every other Saturday and lowers the price of admission. Be sure to hit the gift shop on your way out to pick a piece or two you can’t live without.

Fishermen’s Village in Punta Gorda

Also, unique to the estate is Edison’s Botanic Research Laboratory, which was built for researching a domestic source for organic rubber and is now filled with the actual equipment Edison used to conduct his research! 

A 15,000 square foot air-conditioned museum displays some of Edison’s inventions, artifacts, and exhibits as well as a Model-T Ford, which was a gift from Henry Ford. 

Edison and Ford Winter Estates  is located in Fort Myers, Florida which is approximately a one hour and thirty-minute drive from Sarasota. 

Bok Tower Gardens in Lake Wales

Located just two hours from  Sarasota, Florida , Bok Tower Gardens transports visitors into a tranquil respite. Guests can wander through 50 acres of meandering pathways and gardens, listen to the beautiful bells of the Singing Tower carillon, and stroll through an exquisite Mediterranean-style mansion.

The crown jewel of  Bok Tower Gardens  is most certainly the Singing Tower and its Carillon shows. Standing at 205-feet tall, the tower was designed in the neo-Gothic and art deco styles by famed stone sculptor Lee Lawrie. Concerts can be heard at 1 and 3 p.m. daily and are not to be missed. The carillon is one of four in the state of Florida and only 200 in North America!

Tarpon Springs World Famous Sponge Docks

There is plenty to see and do in  Tarpon Springs , from the world famous Sponge Docks, to deep sea fishing, and experiencing Greek culture and delicious Greek cuisine. While exploring the historic downtown area antique shops, shop for sponges or take a boat ride on an original Sponge Boat.
