- Punt & Dennis: We Are Not A Robot will run between April and June 2024
- It is the first live tour for The Now Show hosts in a decade
- "Audiences can expect an uproarious celebration of the duo's comedic legacy"
Steve Punt and Hugh Dennis are set to embark on a nationwide tour after a decade-long hiatus.
Talking about The Now Show stars, the promoters say: "Older but still unapologetically irreverent, Punt & Dennis are poised to take audiences on a riotous journey with their latest show, titled We Are Not A Robot .
"Having spent the past ten years dissecting the absurdities of the world through their sharp wit on programmes like Mock The Week and The Now Show , the question arises: What insights have the comedic veterans gleaned, and have they managed to craft new jokes worthy of their storied careers? According to the duo, the answer is a resounding 'yes'.
"Punt & Dennis - celebrated for their incisive observational humour, quick banter, and unforgettable sketches - are synonymous with intelligent comedy and impeccable timing. Emerging from the iconic '90s series The Mary Whitehouse Experience , the duo's first standalone TV venture, The Imaginatively-Titled Punt & Dennis Show , birthed the whimsically named The Milky Milky Tour , paying homage to a peculiar Dennis character from their earlier work.
"As they return to the stage, showcasing a medley of classic sketches, improvisation and new material, audiences can expect an uproarious celebration of the duo's comedic legacy, proving that after a decade, Punt & Dennis are still very much in a league of their own."

Punt and dennis tour for first time in a decade.
Steve Punt and Hugh Dennis are set to embark on a nationwide tour after a decade-long hiatus. Older but still unapologetically irreverent, Punt & Dennis are poised to take audiences on a riotous journey with their latest show, titled ‘We Are Not A Robot’.
Having spent the past ten years dissecting the absurdities of the world through their sharp wit on programs like ‘Mock The Week’ and ‘The Now Show,’ the question arises: What insights have the comedic veterans gleaned, and have they managed to craft new jokes worthy of their storied careers? According to the duo, the answer is a resounding yes.
Punt & Dennis, celebrated for their incisive observational humour, quick banter, and unforgettable sketches, are synonymous with intelligent comedy and impeccable timing. Emerging from the iconic '90s series ‘The Mary Whitehouse Experience’, the duo's first standalone TV venture, ‘The Imaginatively Titled Punt and Dennis’, birthed the whimsically named ‘The Milky Milky Tour’, paying homage to a peculiar Dennis character from their earlier work.
Transitioning seamlessly between television, radio, and the live comedy circuit, Punt & Dennis have solidified their status as household names. Hugh Dennis probably best known for the popular sitcom ‘Outnumbered’ recently appeared in C4’s psychological thriller, ‘The Couple Next Door’. Other parts include the bank manager in ‘Fleabag’, Toby in ‘Not Going Out’ and he cameoed as a scientist in an M16 laboratory in the Bond film ‘No Time to Die’. Dennis presents C4’s community archaeology television show, ‘The Great British Dig’.
Steve Punt is a much in demand writer, presenter, script editor and voice over artist. He presents the quiz show ‘3rd degree’ on BBC Radio 4 as well as ‘Punt PI’ using his sleuthing skills to explore unsolved cases across the UK. His TV writing credits include ‘The Rory Bremner Show’, ‘The Nearly Complete and Utter History of Everything’, various episodes of ‘Spitting Image’ and its retrospective documentary ‘Best Ever Spitting Image’, ‘Baddiel's Syndrome’, ‘Horrible Histories’ and ‘Would I Lie to You?’. As a performer Punt has appeared in Monty Python’s ‘Holy Flying Circus ‘playing Eric Idle and in 2016 he played the narrator in a tour of ‘The Rocky Horror Show’.
As they return to the stage, showcasing a medley of classic sketches, improvisation and new material, audiences can expect an uproarious celebration of the duo's comedic legacy, proving that after a decade, Punt & Dennis are still very much in a league of their own.

- Trivia His father was the Bishop of St Edmundsbury and Ipswich (Church of England).
- Quotes [on Steve Punt ] In 1983 I caught a glimpse of this bedraggled-looking bloke in the carpark at the ADC [Theatre] at Cambridge. Steve was a sort of comedy god in the Footlights; I was just blissfully dipping my toe in now and again. Eventually I joined the Footlights and went up to Edinburgh to the Fringe, where the Footlights took on proper actors in a game of football. After two minutes, Steve was hacked down by someone - probably in the RSC - and broke his arm. We all went to Spain shortly after and all I can remember is Steve sitting on the beach with his whole arm in a cast. Somehow we fell into a double act. Steve pushed us along in those early days, because he didn't have a regular job. I lived a double life - young brands manager at Unilever during the day and performing at night. Steve wrote everything, booked everything, spoke to the BBC, got us all our gigs. He was living hand to mouth, but his dedication never faltered. All I could offer was a car to drive us places. I wouldn't be working in comedy now if it wasn't for him. I don't think Steve and I have ever had an argument - we are both calm, and neither of us ever flies off the handle. I'm sterner and like to get things done, more punctual, and a lot tidier. We shared a flat in Wimbledon, and that's when I learned: he's not a tidy boy. Then again, I'm a bit too tidy. Steve is a really good companion, especially on tour. We're interested in the same things. I'd be loath to say to my wife: "Shall we go to the Lawnmower Museum?" But Steve would say: "Yes!" We've been to all the crap attractions around the UK; Carthorse World was one. Steve's been on his own to Barometer World. Perfect. Steve was my best man at my second wedding and did a very good, very funny speech. I've always found him funny. I hope he finds me funny, too.

Jonny & The Baptists: The Happiness Index/Ten Thankless Years
A double bill of two shows in one night, from cult multi-award winning musical-comedians Jonny & The Baptists.
A brand new hour of songs and stories about why we are (or are not) happy; and a retrospective of our first decade making riotous, satirical (and silly) “work”.
The Happiness Index Are you happy? We can help! Five Prime Ministers ago, David Cameron started a happiness index to measure how joyful the people of this nation are. Which is ironic, given what he then did. Anyway, we’ve picked up the baton and now are trying to find out what the hell we should do with it. A new personal and political show about our desire, and the country’s struggle, to just be happy.
Ten Thankless Years The country's absolute best (but not most popular) musical comedians present our greatest hits, from a decade of being wildly under-appreciated. After a sell-out, five-star run at Edinburgh Fringe 2023, we’ve understandably decided to take this cash-cow on the road.

Omid Djalili - Namaste
The Persian Comedy Powerhouse performs his critically acclaimed new show.
Omid peacefully bows to his inner anger and unleashes a torrent of comedic vitriol upon the current state of this dangerously messed up planet.
No government gets a green card. No tyrant avoids a take down. No audience member leaves the theatre with an ounce of laughter left in them.
You have been warned.
'So hysterically funny and at the same time so poignant and powerful that calling it stand-up barely does it justice' Michael Levin, Huffington Post
With support from Boothby Graffoe.
Suitable for ages 16+ years.

Daliso Chaponda - Feed This Black Man Again
Daliso did his first show Feed This Black Man 20 years ago. The jokes were mediocre, there was a rap about poverty in the middle (which was as offensive as you might imagine) and the big finale involved a sandwich on stage.
20 years later, Daliso has done the Royal Variety Performance, written and performed four series of Citizen of Nowhere on BBC Radio 4, been a Britain's Got Talent finalist, toured nationwide and abroad... all sorts of things the 22-year-old Chaponda would never have imagined possible.
So, Feed This Black Man Again is a do-over, as the now widely-loved comic revisits the themes of that ancient debut show with the considerably enhanced comic talents that two decades' experience brings you.
Along the way he'll examine the huge differences between the way you think life will be at twenty, and the reality. Probably no sandwich at the end this time.
'Full of sharp one-liners and well crafted gags...a real talent' ★★★★ Metro 'Gets laughs out of topics other comedians shun' The Guardian 'Brilliantly bold, thoroughly engaging and provocative' Wee Review

Hugh Dennis and Steve Punt are back on tour for the first time in 10 years. Older but not really much wiser, they are returning to what they do best; sitting in traffic jams wondering if a different route would have been better, and then in the evening, presenting their new live show.
What have they learned from a decade of following the news for Mock the Week and The Now Show? What wisdom has experience taught them? And have they learned any new jokes? Let’s hope so. They promise they have.
