Group Visits

High school groups and community-based organizations are welcome to visit Mount Mary's campus. To request a campus visit, please fill out the Group Visit Request form (linked below). Please note that Mount Mary requires visit requests to be made at least 2 weeks prior to your preferred visit date. The Admissions Office will review requests on a case-by-case basis and respond as soon as possible. 

Your visit is not confirmed until you receive a confirmation email from a Mount Mary staff member.

Mmu launches virtual tour.

Experience MMU

MMU has launched an online interactive tour of university life at www.mmu.ac.uk/experience

Using a style that’s never been used by any other UK university, the tour consists of fast moving, first-person camera shots, which manage to showcase our courses, facilities, lifestyle and atmosphere at MMU.

Designed as a portal within the ‘Experience’ section of the MMU site, the tour which is designed by magneticNorth will complement the University’s existing prospectus and online information.

Unique and exciting

Brendan Dawes, magneticNorth’s creative director, said: "Our brief from MMU was to create an immersive experience that would excite prospective students about studying at the university, but to do it in a way that has never been seen before."

Visitors to the tour can pick from Food and Hospitality, Art and Design, Humanities, Law and Social Science, Science, Engineering and Computing, Sport and Health, Education and Business. A section on Living in Manchester is also on the tour.

Users can tour building, read quick scan information and watch video clips of students and staff talking about the experiences on offer at one of the UK’s liveliest Unis.

New technology

Mike Deyes, MMU’s Internet Manager, said: "Many virtual tours can be pretty dull but we wanted to take full advantage of new technology to showcase MMU in a meaningful and immersive way.

Modelling of Virtual Campus Tour in Minecraft

Virtual tours have revolutionized the way to explore and experience places from the comfort of our own home. Through advanced technology and immersive digital platforms, virtual tours offer a compelling alternative to tradition face-to-face visits. Whether a famous landmark, museum, real estate or natural wonders, virtual tours offer a unique opportunity to navigate and discover these places form a distance. Meanwhile, creating a virtual tour in Minecraft can provide a unique and immersive experience that sets the users apart from other virtual tour platforms. Minecraft is one of the most popular video games in the world and boasts a large and dedicated community of players. Using Minecraft for a virtual tour allow users to reach a larger audience who are already familiar with the game, increasing the likelihood of engagement and participation. In this paper, the aim is to create a virtual campus tour in Minecraft to give the visitors an immersive and interactive experience with creative freedom. A series of buildings have been built such as Siti Hasmah Digital Library, Common Lecture Complex (CLC) and Smart Lab. Visitors can move around the campus with some gameplay mechanics using mouse and keyboard. Building information was also integrated so visitors can see details about each building during the virtual tour. The virtual tour provides access, comfort and a sense of connection to prospective students, their families and international visitors. Additionally, it serves as a low-cost marketing tool that increases engagement, attracts potential students, researchers and staff and ultimately benefits the University’s recruitment efforts.

Important information about accommodation

We are pleased to announce that Bookings for the 2024/2025 will open on the 4th March   for all firm offer holders who have chosen Manchester Met as their first choice of University. From 10am on 4 th March the system will send batches of welcome email to students who have already accepted offers. Please note these will be done throughout the day so keep an eye on your emails. If you have recently accepted an offer, it can take up to 72 hours for your details to load into our system. These processes are automated, and we are unable to influence this timeline.
