As lovers of history, of Parisian life, of its codes but also of its good addresses, we want to offer our visitors the best of our world-famous and renowned city.

Authenticity, sharing and conviviality are the fundamental values of our concept.

It is quite naturally that the expansion was made in franchise on the most beautiful cities and regions of France according to the meetings.

A fun, informative and memorable normandy experience ! We thoroughly enjoyed the Great Escape tour. We were very impressed by the level of detail to visiting the historic sites and beautiful panorama views over Daeuville and Trouville, the professionalism and friendliness of the tour guides. We decided to do the early morning tour which was fantastic... no traffic or tourists on the roads. We were also happy with their covid parameters with cleaning the bikes, helmets and wearing face shields on the helmets. Overall, a memorable and wonderful experience!

An unforgettable experience with an unforgettable guide On a weekend to visit the beautiful city of Deauville and not knowing the area, we had the chance to board Paulette, our side car, driven by a bearded guide really passionate about the history of Normandy cities. It was a wonderful and pleasant moment that made us want to come back this time to discover the landing beaches. Thank you to our guide for his kindness and his culture which allowed us to spend a unique moment.

Tour on Motorcycle with Side Car of Paris. Took this with my husband sister and niece. The guides were knowledgeable of the city and it’s history. They were very flexible with the routes. For example the day before we did a boat tour so we wanted to do other areas. Felt very safe they navigated well and knew the roads well.

Is it safe to ride a bike in Paris?

Paris: from city of lights to city of bikes.

Over the last few years Paris has been busy transforming roads into dedicated bike lanes. By bike we can safely explore the city and get up close to the must-see sites. We ride at a leisurely pace so you can take it all in and see more than you ever could by foot, bus or metro!

Since 2015, the city has invested over €150 million to develop protected bike lanes & areas free of motor traffic all over Paris. As of 2022, a remarkable network of 1094km is now fully equipped with these safe bikeways. Not only in the historical city centre, but the entire greater Paris area has been fitted with these new lanes which now total 2800km of bikeways (including one of our other favourite stomping grounds: Versailles!)

Paris now ranks as the 8th most most bicycle friendly city in the world & continues to climb the rankings!

“We LOVED every minute of this tour. Fat Tire Tours did not disappoint. Our guide was JF and he was fabulous. Personable and knowledgeable, he made the day an outstanding one from the market to the gardens to the palace.” traci, Viator

See more of the opulent Palace of Versailles on this bike tour from Paris, operated by Fat Tire Tours.

After meeting your group in the city, you’ll travel together by train, disembarking at a station near the attraction. From here, you’ll mount your bike and get prepared to discover the most significant features of the impressive residence.

These include the Grand Trianon , constructed in a classic French Baroque style, as well as the Hameau de la Reine , built as a retreat for the Queen of France, Marie Antoinette, who was later executed for conspiracy and high treason.

Visitors who are hoping to create a lasting memory of their day trip to the Palace of Versailles will find this tour truly memorable. The experience not only offers an enjoyable cycling journey but also includes an outdoor picnic on the palace grounds, featuring fresh produce bought from the local market.

However, this tour also showcases some hidden gems, such as the tomb of Napoleon Bonaparte, the famed leader of France during the Revolutionary Wars.

The journey, offered by Fat Tire Tours, also takes cyclists past significant landmarks such as the city’s military academy and the Hôtel des Invalides, which was initially established as a hospice for retired soldiers.

Hot tip: Plan the ideal Parisian getaway with our ultimate Paris bucket list , filled with must-do activities for a magical and unforgettable trip.

This tour is often praised as the highlight of people’s trip to Paris and is ideal for those who don’t have the time to explore all the city’s landmarks on foot. While the guides are an international group, each possess a deep understanding of Paris’s geography and history.

I - Cancellation Policy

BFT offers a 100% refund if a reservation is cancelled more than 24 hours before the scheduled start of the tour. The notification must be made by email. No refunds are given for ANY reason once within the 24 hrs prior to the scheduled tour. All of our tours run Rain or Shine. We do not issue refunds if you choose to skip your tour because the weather doesn’t suit you. You can always wait until the last minute to book your tour to ensure the weather suits you that day. BFT reserves the right to cancel any of its tours last minute in case of an Act of God or crazy act from a large group of people. Flooding, hail, dangerous weather conditions, riots, etc. In such instances full refunds will be given to anyone who had their tour cancelled.

II - Satisfaction Guarantee Policy

If the tour you took with us didn’t live up to what we promised you on our website and failed to meet your expectations, we will be heartbroken. We will also give you a 100% refund so long as you do all of these things: You remember that we we are in no way responsible for the weather and that our guides actually have to give 110% of themselves to you on days when the weather is not as nice in order to help you enjoy the tour. You participate in the entire tour from: being on time at the meeting point until the “goodbyes” at the very end of the tour. You can’t leave a tour half-way and ask for your money back. At the end of the tour you tell your guide, in person, that you were not satisfied with the tour you took. You provide your tour guide with the reasons you were not satisfied with the tour itself.

III - Payment Policy

A valid credit card is required to secure your booking. All reservations must be prepaid online prior to the tour. We accept Visa, Mastercard. None of your personal credit card or billing information is stored by BFT.

IV - Privacy Policy

We are committed to protecting your privacy. Your personal informations will never be disclosed to any third parties.

V - Child Policy

All reservations made for children under the age of 18 years old must be made by an adult and we must be informed at the time of booking exactly how many children are in your party and their ages. This is vital information as it allows our guide to prepare the proper child sized equipments for the bike tours and the booster seats for all day trips/excursions that use one of our vans. All reservations made for a minor under the age of 18 years old must also include the reservation for an adult who will be 100% solely responsible for the safety and well being of the child while on the tour. Every child, under the age of 12 years old, partaking in a bicycle tour will be required to wear a helmet and a reflective vest as per French Law. The adult who accompanies the child agrees to the responsibility of choosing a properly sized helmet, adjusting the helmet, and keeping the helmet on the head of the child during the whole tour. Blue Fox Travel has helmets in multiple sizes for you to choose from at no cost. Don't forget: Children who will be riding in a baby/child seat, on a tandem attachment bike, or in a booster seat in one of our vans absolutely MUST have their seat reserved beforehand. We NEED to know exactly what your child will need before they show up. Please make it clear in the “Special Requirements” section of our booking form.

VI- Child Bike Policy

Children who will be riding on their own may be subject to a very short test run before the tour starts in which they will be expected to demonstrate: that they are well suited for their bike’s size and settings, that they know how to brake properly and that they are, in general, good cyclists who can be trusted to follow their tour guide in a safe manner. We own 20” and 24” kids bikes (size of the wheel). Adult bikes are 26”. If the guide, or manager, finds that the child is not, for any reason, a good enough cyclist then the guide, or manager, has the right to refuse to let the child follow the tour on a personal bike. This means they will either be asked to ride on one of our ‘tandem attachments’ which is attached to the back of a parents bike OR asked to ride in a child seat attached to the back of a parents bike. If the child refuses the change, then the guide or manager has the right to cancel the reservation, and not allow you and your child on the bike tour. Refunds will not be issued if your reservation is cancelled because of your child not being able to cycle and their refusal to ride attached to you. Baby seats are for kids that are between the ages of 1 and 3 years old (max weight 22 kg (48 lbs)). We also have some cool Burley™ tandem attachment bikes that are suitable for little kids who are too big for the baby seat but too small to cycle on their own (max weight 38 kg (85 lbs) - max height 137 cm (4 ft 6 in)).

VII - Damages to Blue Fox Travel Property

If you or anyone in your party damages a vehicle, a Blue Bike™, a vehicle, a child's bike, a helmet, a baby/child seat, a tandem attachment bike, any bike attachments, or a booster seat in such a way that it becomes badly disfigured, broken, or unusable, then BFT reserves the right to claim a fee of up to the cost of repair of the damaged bike/vehicle or object.

We have been perfecting our Paris Day Bike Tour since 1999 and there’s no coincidence that the city is transforming several of its roads into bike lanes – cycling is a fabulous way to visit the ‘City of Light’!  We’ll cover more ground and see more sites on this tour than you would on foot or via the metro or bus. Several of Paris’ landmark destinations are located along cycle-friendly paths within close proximity to one another, so it’s just a matter of having one of our local guides there to add the magic!

This tour is a relaxing and fun pedal through the beautiful capital city of France.  Whether you’re a Paris rookie or a traveled veteran, our goal is not to overwhelm you with mind-bending dates and boring stories.  Instead, we offer you the famous sites, a great orientation, an educational framework from which you can better appreciate the monuments, heaps of unique and fascinating stories, fantastic photo opportunities, a comfortable 3-speed bike and superb personal service from your guide and our staff.  Our goal? To help you fall in love with Paris the way those of us who live here have, time and time again. And, you’ll have a great time doing it!

From our office located near the Eiffel Tower, we’ll navigate to some of the famous sites of the left-bank, going as far as the Louvre before circling back towards our starting point.  For those wishing to take in all of the Parisian sites by bike, we highly recommend joining our  Paris Night Bike Tour  as well.  This visit is a perfect complement to the day bike tour as it explores the Latin Quarter during the peak evening social hours.

The morning Paris Day Bike Tour includes a break at a fabulous café nestled among the trees of the Tuileries Gardens (cost not included).  This is the best time to find out the latest Paris information from you guide and to get the know the rest of your group. Our afternoon tour follows the same itinerary, but focuses on seeing the highlights and finishes up just in time for French apèro.

How does the Paris Day Bike Tour compare to the Paris Night Bike Tour?

Many customers want to know the difference between our Paris Day Bike Tour and Paris Night Bike Tour . First, the routes and information provided are completely different.

The Paris Day Bike Tour is where you’ll get the most information about Paris. We hear one of two comments most often after the Paris Day Bike Tour. Either, “Wow, I’m so glad I took this because now I know what I’m going to do the next few days while I’m in the city” or we hear, “I can’t believe I’m leaving tonight because there’s so much more in Paris that I didn’t know about and I’ve missed it all.”

The Paris Night Bike Tour is simply beautiful. There is more riding involved and slightly less information than the Paris Day Bike Tour, but the city at night is fantastic! This tour also includes a boat cruise on the Seine with free wine included.

Most of our customers take both of our tours by taking advantage of our Day & Night Bike Tours – and you can save €10 when booking them together! However, if you’re not sure you want to take both, we suggest you take whichever one sounds most interesting to you, and then you can decide at that point if you enjoyed it enough to ride with us a second time. We think we know what your answer will be…

What is the number to call if I am lost and trying to find the meeting point?

If you are having difficulty finding the meeting location for your tour, please call us at +33 1.82.88.80.94 and our staff will be happy to help you find your way.

The City of Light

Paris, je t’aime

The city of light, a romantic escape, a haven for artists, and a city with perhaps the most enduring allure of all of Europe. The magic of Paris is that the city transforms itself for the visitor. Consider yourself a foodie? You can visit endless cafés, bistros, and Michelin starred restaurants, or simply pop into your local bakery and enjoy a fresh-out-of-the-oven baguette on a park bench. Curious about history? Many of Paris’ iconic monuments survived World War II, showcasing bullet-holes that remind us of the occupation. Looking for a stroll? Head to the Luxembourg Gardens and meander your way through the perfectly manicured trees and flowerbeds while gazing upon the French Senate. Paris has so many sides that are waiting to be discovered.

We would love to show your our version of Paris. We’ll ride by the Eiffel Tower, stopping for photos and stories before making our way towards the Seine River. The Louvre sits majestic in the city-center, just down the Champs-Élysées from the Arc de Triomphe. Notre Dame, although damaged by the 2019 fire, still stands tall on Ile de la Cité. The golden dome of Les Invalides, Napoleon’s final resting place, also graces the Parisian landscape. Each of these sites tells a story, and we hope that you will allow us to share this story with you.

Our Paris Day Bike Tour helps you get acquainted with the city, but its a great half-day tour for those new to Paris as well as veterans. Cruising on a comfortable city bike, Paris seems to spring to life. Our Night Bike Tour offers a different feel, as we head into the heart of the Latin Quarter to get a taste of Parisian nightlife. Our Versailles Bike Tour is the perfect day trip from Paris. With skip the line access into the palace and a full day of biking through the famous Versailles gardens, you are sure to come away with a greater appreciation for this historic city.
