philadelphia eagles super bowl travel packages

Eagles fans wanting an unforgettable 2023 Super Bowl experience should act fast and grab a fan package for the big game against the Kansas City Chiefs in Arizona.

The Philadelphia Eagles and On Location, the Official Hospitality Partner of the NFL, announced the sale of official 2023 Super Bowl tickets and hospitality packages following Sunday’s big NFC championship win of 31-7 over the San Francisco 49ers.

Eagles soar to the Super Bowl: Eagles reach Super Bowl LVII after defense buries 49ers, injures 2 quarterbacks

If you can’t wait to cheer on the Birds at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, and want to embrace everything Super Bowl weekend has to offer, the official fan packages are available online and include multinight stay options, one-day trips, game day perks and more.

The Eagles Fan Hospitality option includes an official game ticket and a pregame experience, including open-air pregame hospitality, an open bar and elevated tailgate fare, live entertainment and interactive games, according to the promotion.

Currently, the cheapest available ticket option for this package sells for $4,973.50 for section 453, row 15. The most expensive ticket available is for section 108, row 2, and sells for $29,751.

The Eagles Fan Travel option includes an official game ticket, deluxe hotel accommodations, airfare from the Philadelphia International Airport and an official pregame party, according to press materials.

Depending on whether you plan to fly to the Super Bowl or drive, air-inclusive and land-only travel packages are available.

The air-inclusive travel packages can include roundtrip game day transportation, concierge guest services, a welcome lounge, a 2023 Super Bowl gifting experience and roundtrip airport transportation in Phoenix.

The cheapest package is for a one-day experience on Feb. 12 that includes a day-of departure and return, roundtrip deluxe game day transportation, concierge guest services and roundtrip nonstop airfare from Philadelphia to Phoenix. This option sells for $8,445.

The most expensive package sells for $10,310 and includes a three-night stay from Feb. 10 to Feb. 13 at the Westin Kierland Resort & Spa, official Eagles pregame hospitality, roundtrip game day transportation, a 2023 Super Bowl gifting experience, a welcome lounge, concierge guest services, roundtrip airport transportation in Phoenix and an official Eagles Takeover Experience.

The land-only travel packages include similar perks. The cheapest option sells for $8,145 and features a three-night stay from Feb. 10 to Feb. 13 at the Hilton Phoenix Tapatio Cliffs Resort. The most expensive option features a three-night stay at the Marriott Phoenix Resort Tempe at The Buttes and costs $9,590.

Ticket upgrades are available for each travel package. Prices will vary depending on which seats you choose.

For those of you who can’t get enough of a good tailgate but don’t want to shell out the money for a 2023 Super Bowl ticket, ticketless packages are available, too.

Similar to the ticketed experiences, airfare and/or land transportation are provided, along with concierge guest services, a 2023 Super Bowl gifting experience, a welcome lounge and hotel accommodations.

The cheapest ticketless package starts at $2,180. The most expensive package starts at $4,370.

The Eagles haven’t been to the Super Bowl since their first appearance in 2018 when they claimed the title of Super Bowl LII champions, so demand is likely to be high for all of these options.

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- The Philadelphia Eagles defeated the Minnesota Vikings to play in the Super Bowl. In a cruel bit of irony, the Birds will now head to the Viking's home field, US Bank Stadium in Minneapolis.

But if you want to watch the game in person, get ready to dig deep, it is going to cost you.

A short time after the NFC Championship victory, the Eagles released information about the tickets.

If you just need a ticket to the game, expect to spend nearly $5,000.

And if you add on a hotel and airfare, the package could set you back almost $7,000. Hotels include the Hampton Inn Minneapolis and the Hilton Garden Inn St. Paul.

These hotels are about 30 minutes away from the stadium.

Philadelphia Eagles Travel Package

The Philadelphia Eagles are one of the most storied franchises in the NFL. Their inaugural season was way back in 1933, but somewhat ironically,it took them 85 years to secure their first Super Bowl. The dirty birds truly found their stride when Andy Reid was named head coach in 1999. His stint with the Eagles lasted all of 14 seasons, the longest in NFL history. Playing out of downtown Philadelphia allows home games to be easily accessible for hometowns fans, which only adds to their reputation of having some of the most high-energy partisans in the NFL. With BookSeats.com, fans can either come into Philly to catch a game, or travel with the team on the road and support them when they battle at an away stadium.

Philadelphia Eagles FAQ

Where do the philadelphia eagles play out of.

The Eagles’ home stadium is Lincoln Financial Field, located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It is named after the Lincoln Financial Group, an organization that secured the stadium’s naming right for 21 years in 2002. As for the atmosphere, it’s no secret that Philly fans are some of the most unpredictable and wild in the NFL, so it’s unsurprising that the stadium was built to include a small, four-cell jail inside! Luckily for fans, after two years the jail was removed as their collective behavior improved.

How many people can the Lincoln Financial Field hold?

The Lincoln Financial Group Stadium can house 69,176 people. Known to locals as “the Linc,” it’s also home to other notable events such as Temple University Owls football home games and the annual Army-Navy showdown, where capacity can be adjusted.

Why are they called the Philadelphia Eagles?

Way back in 1933, the Frankford Yellowjackets went bankrupt and were purchased by Bert Bell. His ownership team named the team the Eagles, as it paid respect to the symbol of the Great Depression’s National Recovery Act, the eagle.

Where should I stay when in town for an Eagles game?

Luckily for fans, Lincoln Financial Field is only a 13-minute drive from the city center. Staying in downtown Philadelphia allows fans to stay and enjoy the sights and experiences the city has to offer, while only being a short distance from the stadium. With BookSeats.com having the ability to offer fans complete customization, any trip is possible - whether it’s a short in and out stay to catch a game, or a prolonged visit in which you really digest the city. The decision is totally up to you. Booking flights, hotels and tickets in one place helps remove stress and allows you to focus on what really matters most – your Philadelphia Eagles trip!

GUIDE TO THE BEST  PACKAGES

What are super bowl packages.

A Super Bowl package is a unique experience that is created for an individual who wants to remove the headache and time required to put together a once in a lifetime sports weekend.

What’s Included in a Super Bowl Package?

Like any fan travel experience, Super Bowl packages bring together key elements, including a hotel stay, game tickets, a unique pregame activity, and usually involves some sort of transportation on game day, such as a luxury motor coach or limousine.

Why would someone want a 2020 Package?

Purchasing a complete package can deliver an exclusive weekend of premium experiences without having to spend your time trawling the Internet for hotel rooms and accommodation.

Here at Fan Hospitality, we’ve done all the hard work for you and secured the best deals out there.

Where to find the best Super Bowl packages?

You could spend hours of research trying to find the best Super Bowl package. But, we decided to put together this awesome guide to sift through all the available packages online to discover the best options for fans traveling to the game.

Can you save money by purchasing package elements separately?

You can most definitely save money by purchasing all of your Super Bowl trip components at once.

What types of packages are there?

Super bowl hotel package.

This type of package includes hotel accommodations, gift bag, game tickets, ground transportation to and from the stadium on game day, and usually a tailgate party of some sorts.

Super Bowl tailgate package

Like the hotel package, but without the hotel. The ticket package usually consists of game tickets and a tailgate party.

Super Bowl travel package

Like the hotel package, the Super Bowl travel package includes everything you need for the entire weekend, including airfare to/from the Super Bowl host city.

Super Bowl party package

Our favorite package by far includes game tickets, hotel accommodations, a gift bag, game day transportation, and to top it off, all includes access to the hottest celebrity filled parties all weekend – think Rolling Stone or Playboy!

What package add-ons are available?

philadelphia eagles super bowl travel packages

Super Bowl parties are like none other. Filled with glitz and glamour these celebrity driven parties turn up the heat during the wild weekend of festivities and allow you to immerse yourself with the passionate fans before during the biggest weekend in sports travel in the Unites States.

Airfare can be ridiculously expensive sometimes costing 3x-4x the typical fare.

We’ve seen prices for New York to New Orleans at $1300 with a departure date of Thursday prior and a return on the Monday following the Super Bowl. These flights usually run $300 on a normal weekend.

Due to the high demand many ticket brokers and travel companies buy up airfare and resell the tickets at 2x-3x the purchase price, sometimes saving you a few hundred dollars.

Hotel suite upgrades

Packages usually include run of the house rooms which are typically deluxe king or queen standard rooms at any hotel.

If you have an extra few thousand laying around why not upgrade to a suite? Suites typically include around 600sqft +, and sometimes include 2+ bedrooms for your family.

4/5 star Super Bowl Hotels

Most 4 or 5 star hotels in the downtown area of any host city during Super Bowl sometimes can run $10,000 for a 3 night stay.

Super Bowl Team Hotels

If you’re lucky you might be able to snag a hotel an either the AFC or NFC hotel for $15,000+. Typically at the Marriott.

Are packages only for individuals?

No. We have a strong track record of delivering corporate events that impress and can help you to plan out your entire corporate Super Bowl Package experience.

Are there any VIP upgrades for packages?

From luxury hotel rooms, VIP concierge, and chauffeur driven services, through to in-stadium catering, premium seats, and match-day hospitality, we have everything covered.

Our Super Bowl packages make great gifts or are ideal if you are looking to impress your corporate clients or employees.

What is the most expensive Super Bowl package?

Great question! We have seen a million dollar and a $2 million dollar Super Bowl packages.

Both packages offering incredible elements including extravagant mansions, access for 40+ to a luxury suite, VIP treatment at the best parties and town.

The $2 million dollar package

This one adds house staff, including a chef to cure those party hangovers for Rolling Stone or Maxim the night before to get you ready for the Super Bowl match-up itself.

If you were a smart and loyal Eagles fan, you would have booked a hotel in the greater Minneapolis area two months ago, when it was clear Philly had the best team in the NFC and was headed to the Super Bowl.

Alas, that’s probably not most people. For anyone now angling to trek out to Minneapolis to see the Eagles take on the New England Patriots in Super Bowl LII, good luck finding a room. The closest available hotel to U.S. Bank Stadium is 7.5 miles away. Going room rate there for the Saturday through Monday of Super Bowl week? More than $400 a night.

That was as of 6 a.m. Monday, by the way. By now those rooms are probably already gone.

Of the very few hotels that have any availability, all are 10 or more miles from the stadium and most run between $525 and $1,200 per night, according to booking site Travelocity . The site does offer some available Airbnb-style housing — everything from single rooms to entire homes, with costs ranging from $1,000 to $12,000 per night.

Speaking of Airbnb , that website has this advisory up right now: “388% more people are looking for homes in Minneapolis. You are coming to town at a popular time. We recommend booking soon.” Oh…you think?

Airbnb prices vary from around $200 per night to four times that for a small apartment, all incredibly reasonable given the Super Bowl is coming to town. There was even one posted listing  (which is probably either gone or updated by this point) for $26 per night. It looks like you’d be crashing on a woman named Natasha’s couch. She has a cat. Sorry Eagles fans, there isn’t any information on how she feels about dogs.

philadelphia eagles super bowl travel packages

We looked at local accommodations for Saturday, Feb. 3 through Monday, Feb. 5, but if you wanted to go early and add the preceding Friday, prices are roughly the same for both rooms and flights.

Prices will likely skyrocket this week as more people start to book, but the initial market was unusually low — because the team most expected to get to the Super Bowl was the Vikings, which regularly play in that stadium.

That scenario would have been great for the local fans, but pretty terrible for the local travel economy. Sure, there is always the crush of national and international media that heads to any Super Bowl, and Patriots fans do travel well, but having just one team, media and fan base fly in would not have been great for the Minneapolis hotel and airline industry, despite a given uptick for bars and restaurants.

As it stands, people there are surely sad the Vikings lost, but they can take heart in knowig Eagles fans are going to pay a ton of money to E-A-G-L-E-S Eagles! their way from Dinkytown to Downtown Minneapolis and back again.

Per Orbitz, more than 2,800 flights were booked into Minneapolis today along, and at the time of our search there were nearly 650 people looking at the same flights we were. If they are even still available (good luck with that) flights leaving Philly on Saturday, Feb. 3 were about $700 , and that’s for trips with a layover in Newark or Charlotte. Nonstop flights were running at more than $1,000 roundtrip , not including baggage fees. And as we know, when it comes to the Super Bowl, Eagles fans carry a lot of baggage.

So that’s how much it would cost to get there. And then comes tickets.

View this post on Instagram A post shared by johnnyjm3 (@johnnyjm3)

According to the NFL official ticket exchange, one seat to the Big Game in the upper deck will run just north of $5,700. Tickets behind one of the team benches will roll for about $12,000 apiece .

A person just paid $132,052, including fees, on StubHub for 10 seats in the lower level on the 35-yard line AFC side for the Super Bowl. — Darren Rovell (@darrenrovell) January 22, 2018

All told, unless you can snag that spot on Natasha’s couch, Eagles fans are looking at about $1,000 or more for two nights in Minneapolis, roughly $750 for airfare and $6,000 for tickets. That doesn’t include transportation to and from the airport, around town the two days you’re there or any food and drink. Tallying it all up, if you want to spend a quick-but-memorable weekend in Minnesota this February, expect to pay close to $9,000 if you do it on your own.

philadelphia eagles super bowl travel packages

For those looking to save money by driving to Minneapolis instead of taking a flight, it’s a 1,200-mile drive , which would take about 18 hours one way. Based on current prices, per AAA , and the average fuel efficiency of cars today, gas would run roughly $136.

Tolls from the Linc to U.S. Bank Stadium are $80.25, according to a free online toll calculator. An alternate route through upstate New York would save nearly $40 in tolls, but would add an additional 120 miles — roughly $15 in gas — and two hours to the trip.

On the way back, tolls are even more expensive, so factor in $90.40 for the trip back, plus the same cost for gas, rest stop snacks and a good amount of caffeine. A flight from Philly to Minneapolis is about three hours, and including time to and from the airport it’s roughly a five hour trip. Driving would save about $300 if you were traveling solo, much more if you carpooled. But you will lose two full days just getting there and back.

There is another option to get the Super Bowl this year: Let the Eagles take you.

In the moments after the NFC title, with confetti still in the air, the Eagles sent out a release with ticket package information for fans.

The Philadelphia Eagles and PrimeSport, a division of On Location Experiences, today announced the sale of Super Bowl LII ticket and travel packages for Eagles fans following their NFC Championship game win. PrimeSport and the Eagles are partnering together to directly provide their fanbase with verified ticket packages and the ability to purchase travel and hotel accommodations for Super Bowl LII in Minneapolis, MN.

The team’s package includes  a tailgate party the day of the game right near the stadium too, with tons of food and, “Handcrafted, top-shelf cocktails, large selections of beer, wine and non-alcoholic beverages as well as team-colored drinks.”

Did you ever dream of getting sloshed at the Super Bowl on something that looks and probably tastes like green slime? OF COURSE YOU HAVE! And now you can.

philadelphia eagles super bowl travel packages

Just for travel to and from the Super Bowl and three nights hotel will run close to $3,000, without tickets to the game. (There’s an option that’s $250 cheaper if you don’t mind staying a few miles further out of the city.)

If you want tickets to the game, too, that’ll run $7,700, which based on our search above is cheaper than doing it a la carte, plus you get to hang out with a bunch of other Eagles fans with disposable income — or those who also just mortgaged their house to pay for a trip to the Super Bowl — and you’re guaranteed to not be sharing a couch with someone’s nordic cat.

Those who purchased their flights weeks ago hoping the Eagles would make the Super Bowl, and those who smartly booked hotel rooms back in the fall are reaping the benefits of hundreds to maybe thousands in savings today. But for the rest of you, there’s still some space left on the Eagles bandwagon for everyone else. It’s just going to cost you.

NFC Championship - Minnesota Vikings v Philadelphia Eagles

Now that the Philadelphia Eagles are going to Super Bowl LII (still hard to believe it’s real), you can join them in Minnesota. The Eagles announced official ticket and travel package information on Sunday evening following the team’s NFC Championship Game win.

The PrimeSport Ticket & Travel packages include exclusive access to Club PrimeSport at the Lumber Exchange, a game day pre-party located steps away from U.S. Bank Stadium and hosted by Cris Carter, Shannon Sharpe and Sterling Sharpe. The pregame party at the Lumber Exchange, located at the corner of 5th & Hennepin, will include: · Chef-focused food stations with seafood, premium carvings and other action stations · Handcrafted, top-shelf cocktails, large selections of beer, wine and non-alcoholic beverages as well as team-colored drinks · Casual seating with live entertainment, including NFL talks and surprise musical performances · Tailgate games Join your team at Super Bowl LII for an experience you will never forget! Packages are available exclusively through www.primesport.com/eagles or by calling 855-329-9255.

The packages certainly aren’t cheap, but hey, this opportunity is guaranteed to come around often.

Also, the team really needs your support! Eagles fans have done a great job of helping their team go 10-1 at Lincoln Financial Field this season. They’ll be on a neutral field for the Super Bowl, but that doesn’t mean Eagles fans can’t make their presence felt as they’ve done on the road all year.

Bleeding Green Nation will be credentialed for Super Bowl LII, so I’ll be in Minnesota. Maybe we can set up a big Eagles Super Bowl party hangout thing.

I hope to see you there!

Eagles Fans Inquiring About Super Bowl Vacation Packages

November 27, 2017 / 11:05 PM EST / CBS Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) --  Philadelphia travel agents are already getting inquiries from Eagles fans about purchasing Super Bowl packages for the big game in Minneapolis. The only problem is that the Eagles are not guaranteed a spot in the Super Bowl, causing fans to take a big risk with their wallets.

The average package price, including airfare, a hotel and a game ticket is approximately $6,000 per person. The Birds have five more regular season games before the playoffs, but some say shelling out $6,000 a piece in November for a February package is well worth the risk.

Eagles Have 35 Percent Chance Of Getting To Super Bowl

"That's just the type of fan base we are! You see it with baseball, you see it with football, with everything. Philly is passionate. I'm all for it," Eagles fan Brendon Little said.

Spending big without a Super Bowl guarantee isn't so crazy, according to local travel agent Iris Hami. She owns Gil Travel on Walnut Street in Philadelphia. She's already received multiple inquiries about packages.

"It's expensive but it's worth it. If you love football, it's worth it," Hami said.

Police: Woman Leaves Dead Newborn In Bag Under Porch

Hami says if you have the urge to buy now, make sure to get travel insurance, and not just any travel insurance. Most companies offer what is called "cancel for any reason" but it's almost 50 percent more than regular travel insurance.

"You have to read between the lines and you can always call the representative of the insurance company if you have questions," Hami said.

Are the Eagles still Super Bowl contenders? | Zero Blitz

Yahoo Sports’ Jason Fitz and Frank Schwab look at the overall sentiment around the Philadelphia Eagles after their late-season collapse in 2023. Hear the full conversation on the “Zero Blitz” podcast - and subscribe on Apple Podcasts , Spotify or wherever you listen.

Video Transcript

JASON FITZ: Let's talk about the change in tone around the Philadelphia Eagles. Because obviously, everybody thought things were going to be coming up roses. I don't think Kellen Moore has shown anything to deserve the level-- it's like Eagles fans weren't scared of Kellen Moore when he was an offensive coordinator, so why are you going to tout him when you got him? And I also think as much as this is a revolving door of coordinators for the Eagles, I think the Eagles are-- they have more question marks than people want to admit. I'm down on the Eagles.

FRANK SCHWAB: It's hard to imagine the last time a team completely changed what we think-- their perception, what we think about them in seven games more than the Philadelphia Eagles. They were 10 and 1 last year. And yeah, we knew they were lucky, and the point differential, and all that stuff. They were just winning close games. They're not as good as 10 and 1. But we still were like, they're the Eagles. They're a Super Bowl contender. They're going to figure it out.

And then those last seven games were so bad that we come into this offseason saying, are the Eagles-- are they a playoff team? Probably. They got the talent. But you lost Kelce. You lost Fletcher Cox. That's not nothing. And the whole Sirianni thing and the way they handled it was so weird where they basically were like, well, we probably should fire you, but you deserve to stay on. So we're just going to strip all your power, basically. And like-- what?

If you would have told Eagles fans this is the conversation we're having when they were 10 and 1 after beating the Buffalo Bills in overtime-- I believe that's the 10th win for them-- you would've just been like, what? No, the Eagles aren't in disarray. We're 10 and 1. We're heading to another Super Bowl. No. No, it didn't happen that way. Just an absolute debacle to end the season last year in Philly.

And now, yes, they have the talent to be a Super Bowl contender. I think the roster is still great. But I just don't know. The vibes are all bad for them. We'll see coming-- they're one of those September teams where I want to see them in September. I could see a scenario, as outlandish as it sounds, where Sirianni is the first coach fired. What if they start 1 and 4?

I don't think that's going to happen. But I didn't think they would fall apart over the last seven games last year, counting playoffs, either. So we'll see. Yes, Philly is absolutely one of those teams where-- not just a year ago. But from mid-November last year, we have completely changed how we think of Philly.

JASON FITZ: I will say this. I don't think that the Eagles are bad. I just don't think that they're automatically Super Bowl contenders. That's the biggest difference. Last year, they were Super Bowl contenders, right? This year, it feels like they're like an eight-win team. Maybe they sneak their way into the playoffs. They're good, not great.

The glow up: teams that changed our expectations the most since last year | zero blitz.

Jason Fitz and Frank Schwab join forces to recap the biggest NFL news from the weekend before diving into the teams that changed our expectations the most (in a good OR bad way) the most compared to last offseason. The duo start with the biggest news from the weekend, including the update to the Stefon Diggs trade that revealed the Houston Texans voided the final years of his contract. Fitz and Frank speculate on why before discussing the Carolina Panthers extending DT Derrick Brown and the explosion of the interior defensive line market. Things change quickly in the NFL, so Fitz and Frank decide to look at some teams who have changed our perception of them the most over the past year. The top risers include the Texans, Chicago Bears (and the NFC North as a whole) and Los Angeles Rams, while some teams that lost the benefit of the doubt include the Philadelphia Eagles, Jacksonville Jaguars, Cincinnati Bengals, Seattle Seahawks and Buffalo Bills. Fitz and Frank finish off the show with a dueling snake draft, as they compete to draft the best championship games of all time. Frank dominates.

Stefon Diggs trade changes the entire AFC landscape | Inside Coverage

Jason Fitz is joined by senior NFL reporters Charles Robinson and Jori Epstein to discuss the breaking news that Stefon Diggs has been traded to the Houston Texans. The trio dive into the how and why of the blockbuster trade, including what went wrong for Diggs in Buffalo, how the Texans decided to put all their chips on the table, Diggs as a personality fit in Houston, what it means for Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills and how this trade shapes the AFC playoff race for years to come.

Biggest 2024 NFL Draft need for every NFC team with Nate Tice | The Exempt List

Charles McDonald is joined by the great Nate Tice to determine the biggest need in the 2024 NFL Draft for every single NFC team. But first – Rashee Rice was reportedly involved in a racing-related crash over the weekend, prompting a discussion on players getting involved in things they shouldn't and why nearly everyone around Patrick Mahomes seems to be trying to make his life harder. In other news, NFL win totals for the 2024 season dropped last week, and Charles and Nate pick out a few that surprised them, including the Los Angeles Chargers, Atlanta Falcons, New York Jets and Dallas Cowboys. Later, Charles and Nate dive into draft needs for every NFC team, as they go back and forth and give some favorite prospect and position fits for teams like the New York Giants (should they take a quarterback?), Green Bay Packers, Atlanta Falcons, Dallas Cowboys, Arizona Cardinals and more.

First round mock draft LIVE with Nate Tice | Zero Blitz

Jason Fitz is joined by the great Nate Tice to prepare for the 2024 NFL Draft the best way they know how: a full first-round mock draft done live on the show. The duo start off by reacting to the biggest NFL news from the weekend, including some rule changes to come out of the NFL owner's meetings and the Tennessee Titans trading for CB L'Jarius Sneed. Fitz and Nate give their thoughts on the hip drop tackle ban, an additional coach's challenge, the Titans' plans for the future and more. Next, the two hosts dive into their first round mock draft and alternate making picks. Some of the more contentious selections include Rome Odunze to the Chicago Bears, the Las Vegas Raiders passing on a quarterback, Brock Bowers to the Los Angeles Rams, Bo Nix to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and many more.

The Eagles will have a marquee matchup when they open the 2024 season with the first-ever NFL game in Brazil.

That's because the NFL announced Wednesday that the Eagles will face the Green Bay Packers on Friday night, Sept. 6, at Sao Paulo's Corinthians Arena.

The Eagles were announced as the home team back in February. Sao Paulo is Brazil's largest city in population with about 12 million residents.

A storied rivalry

The Packers, of course, are one of the NFL's most storied franchises. They finished 9-8 last season and made the playoffs as a wildcard team. They upset the No. 2 seeded Dallas Cowboys 48-32 in the first round of the playoffs before losing 24-21 to the San Francisco 49ers the following week.

Green Bay is led by quarterback Jordan Love, a first-round pick in 2020 who sat for three seasons behind Aaron Rodgers. But Rodgers was traded to the Jets last season, giving Love the chance to start.

The Eagles, meanwhile, are coming off an 11-6 season in which they lost five of their last six games, followed by a first-round loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. They revamped a good part of their roster, signing running back Saquon Barkley and adding free agent edge rusher Bryce Huff, linebacker Devin White and safety Chauncey Gardner-Johnson among other moves.

The two teams have met 46 times with the Packers holding a 28-18 edge. They last met on Nov. 27, 2022, at Lincoln Financial Field. The Eagles won that game 40-33.

Why the Eagles-Packers are playing in Brazil

The Eagles last played overseas in 2018, when they beat the Jacksonville Jaguars 24-18 in London. Last season, the NFL issued a directive that it wants its teams hosting an overseas once every eight years.

That's because the NFL is planning to have as many as eight overseas games beginning in 2025. The NFL can do this after going to a 17-game schedule in 2021. That enabled AFC and NFC teams to alternate between having an extra home game each season.

Eagles chairman and CEO Jeffrey Lurie said at the NFL owners' meetings two weeks ago that the team was willing to give up one of its nine home games this season in order to play the first-ever game in Brazil.

"As part of the international priority, every team is going to host a neutral game," Lurie said. "We stepped up and thought, ‘Let’s do it in South America and Brazil, a really dynamic country ... We are big supporters in trying to make the NFL a more popular game around the world."

The Eagles will still have eight games at Lincoln Financial Field this season. The Eagles know all of their opponents , but the dates and times will be announced sometime in early May.
