Passangers are required to wear life jacket at all times onboard and must be seated until the boat has come to a complete stop at the jetty.

The boat ride may be bumpy depending on weather and sea condition.

After commencement of tour service there will be no refund in part or full, will be made for unused service/activity.

MANTANANI ISLAND

Pick up at 0700hrs from your hotel lobby and depart to Jetty, approximately 1hour 30minutes drive from the city. Arrived at Jetty in Kota Belud district and followed by a 45-60 minutes (depends on weather) speedboat ride to Mantanani Island.

Upon arrival, briefing for all guest on itinerary and island safety procedures. Proceed to boat snorkeling / diving session. Mantanani Island offer magnificent coral with unsurpassed visibility to both divers and snorkelers. Snorkel at the house reef or dive into the lovely underwater world. Return to the island at 1200hrs for lunch. Free at your own leisure or take a walk on the white sandy beach. If you don’t feel like swimming, just simply bask in the sun on the beach, dozing to the sound of the lapping waves, and in the tranquility of an island where few have treaded.

Depart back to Kota Belud Jetty at 1500hrs and proceed back to your respective hotel in Kota Kinabalu.

Mantanani Island

Mantanani Island – a little-known gem lies off the coast northwest of Kota Kinabalu, is a group of three isolated islands, about 45 minutes boat ride from Rampayan Jetty, Kota Belud. The main island, Mantanani Besar, is settled by a number of fishing families; with two uninhabited isles further southwest, the Lingisan and Mantanani Kecil. Mantanani Island protected as a bird sanctuary for two species of tropical frigate bird and the islands are fringed by reefs around which offer more than 10 dives site in what is arguably the richest location along Sabah’s west coast. As you plunge into the Mantanani underwater world, you’ll be simply mesmerized by neon colored fish in intoxicating swirls, adorable clownfish playing hide and seek amidst the sea anemones, vivid colored finger corals waving about, and vast garden of living coral reefs.

About The Location

Mantanani Islands 美人鱼岛 is a group of three isolated islands located northwest of Kota Belud, about an hour's drive from the state capital of Sabah, Kota Kinabalu. These islands are approximately 60 minutes boat-ride by speedboat from the mainland (depends on sea condition). The islands boast of crystal clear blue waters filled with a myriad of marine life and white sandy beaches fringed by coconut palm trees making it an excellent destination for snorkeling, scuba diving or island hopping. One of the main reasons that the Mantanani Islands have recently attracted many visitors, local and tourists alike is because of a special creature called ‘dugong' or sea cow that resides around the island. Dugong sightings are not guaranteed as these mammals are very shy and will distance themselves especially with the sight of crowds. In addition, dugongs' population is on the brink of extinction so you have to be extremely lucky to be able to spot one!

Plunge into the clear blue waters of Mantanani Island "美人鱼岛" and experience what it feels like to be in a truly tropical utopia. Only an hour drive from the Sabah’s state capital, Kota Kinabalu, Mantanani is a group of three isolated islands that shimmers northwest of Kota Belud. These pristine islands are a 60 minute boat ride from the mainland, depending on sea conditions.

Dreamily picturesque with a coma of white sandy shores that summons shady palm trees and a blue sky halo, Mantanani is an oasis for snorkeling, scuba-diving and island-hopping… or for the simple luxury of little island naps.

One of the many highlights that attracts both the local and the avid traveler would be the Sea Cow spottings. Sea Cows, also locally known as Dugongs, resides in the island but they are shy mammals with a population that is on the brink of extinction. It might just be your lucky day if you are able to spot one on Mantanani!

Boat journey to the island may not be suitable for individuals suffering from the following ailments: heart or lung conditions, recent surgery, back or spinal surgery, back problems / injury / fracture, arthritis, osteoporosis or other similar spinal and pelvic diseases. Pregnant women are also not recommended as boat rides tend to be bumpy depending on sea conditions. If you are suffering from similar issues as mentioned above, kindly consult with your physician before enrolling in this activity.
Kindly take note that the safekeeping of your belongings at all times is your responsibility. We do not encourage guests to bring along electronic devices, valuables, and important documents.
Due to the adventurous nature of the tour, children under the age of 5 are not encouraged to participate in the tours.

For guests who have not purchased the transportation in advance, they will need to drive to the JSK Rampayan Jetty. The drive will take a minimum of one and a half hours, depending on traffic conditions. It is recommended to plan your journey ahead. 08:30 AM --> 09:45 AM Boat boarding, Hop on a speedboat to JSK Mantanani Island Resorts. Your journey will take approximately 30-45 minutes (subject to sea conditions). 10:15 AM Arrive at the Resort. Guests to prepare for snorkelling. Welcome drinks will be served.--> There are two snorkelling points.
