Regent Unveils Guest Experience Enhancements
RSSC-Regent Seven Seas Cruises is nearly doubling internet bandwidth size across the fleet by January 2020. The significantly increasing bandwidth in comparison with last year will make free internet surfing easier for Regent passengers as the internet will be faster and more reliable on all devices.
- Travelers will begin to benefit from the increased bandwidth starting this month. Signing on to Wi-Fi is now smoother via a log-in webpage which appears when passengers connect to the vessel’s network, and they will have a more streamlined log-in process providing unlimited complimentary web surfing.
- Regent also offers free unlimited valet laundry service for passengers staying in Master and Grand Suites. All travelers who sail in a Master or Grand Suite onboard the cruise line’s ships will benefit from the free unlimited valet laundry service also starting in April.
- A new Digital Guest Survey is due to help Regent track passenger experiences as well as feedback in real-time. The digital survey is replacing end-of-cruise paper guest satisfaction questionnaires. Passengers may easily provide feedback via the web-based questionnaire during the cruise and the feedback is automatically sent to the officers aboard the ship and company leaders in Miami FL . The new system is expected to be deployed fleetwide by October this year.
The three initiatives are the latest guest experience enhancements of Regent. Over the past year the company has completed a US$125 million fleet refurbishment program , announced its 2020-2021 Voyage Collection with a total of 167 itineraries and new ports of call, introduced new relaxed outdoor evening dining at the Pool Grill (available fleetwide), debuted the most immersive Cuban cruise itineraries, and unveiled Go Local Tours and Regent Choice small group shore trips, all while readying to launch its 5th ship, Seven Seas Splendor , in February next year.

Survey: “may we ask you a few questions”
By ON cruiser , January 19 in Regent Seven Seas Cruises
Recommended Posts
On January 16 we received a Regent survey. The first tranche of questions asked us to rank (1-5, most-least important) how important it was for us for certain items being included in the fare.
Items included Biz class air, unlimited beverages, laundry included, mini-bar replenishment daily, included gratuities, shore excursions, specialty dining, 24 hour Room Service, etc.
As most if not all items are important for us as being included, we attempted to rank these all either 1 or 2. The follow up question then tried to compel us to select the 5 most important inclusions in the fare, ranking from 1-5. In our view, the listed items were all “most important”, thus all # 1, but the survey would not permit that answer. We would have to rank some items as less important, even though that is not our view.
So, we quit the survey. Our impression, however, based on the questions, is that Regent is looking for areas to cut. From our perspective, cutbacks in any of these areas would be a mistake. We like Regent precisely because of the all-inclusive nature of the experience—including Biz class air to Europe, which would, for us, otherwise be unaffordable given air costs nowadays.
We also like the current Regent onboard experience of “No signing”, including no extra charges for specialty dining. In that regard, Silversea is a big turn-off with extra charge specialty dining, considering the high per diem costs.
Does anyone else who received this survey share our concerns? I truly hope we’re wrong, and that cutbacks in these areas are not in the offing.

We all know they (and every other cruise line) are cutting costs to survive debt refinancing in the current environment. They have admitted as much in SEC filings. We can't really change their minds either aside from giving them some feedback on this survey. I figured I could either give them some info or no info so I filled it out. They will do what they decide to do and I will decide what to do when they make their move....but there is not much that we can do until then. I believe that Regent is concerned about taking the hit for high levels of customer dissatisfaction with airline flights....and increased costs associated with these complaints. I do not think they have decided anything at this point but are simply soliciting feedback with a poorly written survey.
I got the survey and I filled it out. I feel strongly about certain things that Regent does or doesn’t do well and how important those things are to me. Regent is at the mercy of their suppliers such as airlines, hotels and tour guides but they have some level of responsibility to work with those suppliers (or change suppliers) to deliver the best product possible. I didn’t have a problem prioritizing what was most important to me. For others, the priorities will differ. I hope Regent’s intentions are well placed for these surveys and that they will listen to the feedback. No doubt that they are looking to cut cost because the interest payments on the COVID loans are literally an anchor for their business.
I haven't received a survey yet but I think Regent is in a tough spot (as I'm sure all cruise lines are, especially the premium and luxury lines) because honestly, once you add a perk, it's virtually impossible to remove it. Case in point - included laundry - we survived well enough without it, but now we're so used to it I'd raise holy hell if they quit it. 🙂
I'm with ON Cruiser - we chose Regent initially due to the all-inclusive nature of the product. I think rolling back from that would be a huge problem. I know there are a few people who would like to be able to opt out of excursions or alcohol or whatever, but the bottom line is that whatever perks you remove will piss someone off.

I also received and completed the survey. I agree with Pcardad, they have to cut somewhere to survive and by looking at the responses they will get some ideas. I found the survey pretty typical from a business wanting to know where their customer priorities are.
If we had to start signing checks at the bars, etc…I’m out.
I'm also with Regent because of the all inclusive nature of the product. We left Celebrity because of a decline in value, hopefully we don't see the same with Regent. If they must cut (and I don't really see why, given the increase in fares), I hope they don't touch the onboard product in visible ways. From my perspective the air, pre-cruise hotels, transfers, etc. would be the first to go. Then excursions if absolutely necessary. If they cut beyond that they will definitely lose us.
Keep in mind we are seeing this across all cruise lines...not just Regent. The grass is not greener elsewhere.

I wasn't able to finish it. I marked the first six items, ranking from 1 to 5, but then it just froze. I have tried a couple of days in a row to reenter the survey and have the same problem. I'd love to be able to complete the survey, but at this point I don't know what to do. Suggestions?
You can only enter each number once......for a total of your top 5 choices.
I understand it is happening across all cruise lines. At some point, non cruise alternatives become better choices. The offerings aren't the only factor. Many cruise ports are being overwhelmed by the larger number of ships with more and more passengers. Land based vacations allow for more shoulder season traveling when cruises are less frequent. This doesn't work everywhere of course.
In fact, with all due respect, cutbacks are not universal amongst all luxury lines. There are several new entrants, very well capitalized, who offer competition for the established players in this niche.
I am thinking of Ritz, and especially of Explora Journey, a subsidiary of a highly successful shipping line (and related to MSC). If Regent starts cutting in ever more noticeable ways, we will certainly explore Explora (sorry for my cheap pun) and others.
We much enjoyed our recent Mariner cruise last November-December. Yet considering the price paid, I could not cost-justify accepting less for the same, or worse, less for more. Cheapening the product in noticeable ways (cutting back on better brands of liquor, surcharges for what was previously included, etc.) can have unintended consequences.
After all, most in business know that there are serious risks when trying to “shrink one’s way to greatness”.
I can link this because it is the same website but these reviews are consistent with what I have heard... https://www.cruisecritic.com/cruise/explora/reviews
Interesting, and thanks for the link; other than the first reviewer who was surprised that families with children were on board at new years (!), the reviews were generally positive. As experience is gained and “tweaks” are made, they (Explora) could be genuine competition (along with other new and established luxury lines).
In my view, competition is a good thing—it usually compels everyone to up their game. Here’s hoping for that, rather than cutbacks!

I agree. I am probably in the minority in that I regularly sail on many other lines. Sometimes I want a quiet trip and other times I want a floating party.

It is interesting though that Explora Voyages is NOT all inclusive in the way RSS is. They do not include air, pre-hotels, transfers or free (included) shore excursions. They focus entirely on the on-board experience. Maybe that is why RSS is trying to decide the competitive advantage of including all they do.

And I'm a little different than you in that I like the comfort of sailing with Regent. True, it may keep me from finding a line I like better, but I researched the beejeebers out of cruises before we settled on Regent and their product has been a great fit for us since 2009 - hence our repeat business.
I think if it ever got to the point that Regent prices cruises our of our comfort zone we'll look into other types of vacations; I don't see us cruising on other lines, to be honest. We've always said we'd rather cruise less often on Regent than more often on someone else. That may put US in the minority, but so be it.
But Regent needs to be careful - too much cost-cutting will drive us (and others, I'm sure) to alternative vacations...

I haven't looked too deeply into Explora yet, but I did take a peek at some Ritz itineraries, and yowza! They're proud of their product. Yeah, it looks nice. But...yowza.

I'll throw this out there for laughs...how many Titanium Regent clients will be on this with us this year? https://welcometojamrockreggaecruise.com/
We will be on Explora I in march. I will report back on my comparison with Regent.

SORRY I AM USING CAPS; WRITING WITH MY LEFT HAND, RIGHT HAND ON A CAST. I AGREE THE SURVEY WAS NOT EFFECTIVELY WRITTEN. I WOULD HAVE PREFERRED TO LET THEM KNOW WHAT I WOULD SACRIFICE AND STILL CRUISE ON REGENT. RESULTS WOULD BE VERY TRANSPARENT AND PRODUCTIVE.

Did the same thing. I'm not giving them ideas to cut. If they want that, they can pay my consulting rate.

I did complete the survey. I’m ok with out the airfare and transfers - we never use them. Now, if I need to sign a bar tab, I will be very unhappy. The excursions, I’m mixed about - I do like them included, but they really need to do a better job with many of them.
Now, if Regent wants to hire me to research the excursions, please reach out!
The included Business Air is most important to us considering what the cost of buying them yourself. The included hotels and transfers.. we have never used.

2024 Cruise Line Reviews

- Staff-to-guest ratio of 1:1.5
- Maximum of 490-750 guests per sailing
- Private balconies in most suites

- Most "extras" included, from gratuities to beverages and WiFi
Regent Seven Seas Cruises is a luxury cruise line that offers all-inclusive sailings to some of the most desirable destinations in the world. The line is known for its exceptional service, spacious accommodations, and gourmet dining options.
Small-ship, luxury sailing
Regent Seven Seas Cruises operates six ships, each with its own unique style and personality. The fleet includes the Seven Seas Explorer, Seven Seas Mariner, Seven Seas Navigator, Seven Seas Grandeur, Seven Seas Splendor, and Seven Seas Voyager. All of the ships are designed with a focus on luxury and comfort, and offer a range of amenities and activities to suit every type of traveler. And, with a maximum passenger capacity from 490-750 guests, depending on the ship, you'll never feel crowded or have to wait in a line on a Regent Seven Seas sailing.
Limited spring break sailings in the Caribbean
As our apples-to-apples comparison, we looked at taking a week-long cruise in the Caribbean in March, booking about a year in advance. Regent Seven Seas only had one option, the Seven Seas Splendor, sailing from San Juan, PR to Miami, FL. We were given a starting fare of $5,099 per person on an itinerary including St. Barts, Antigua, St. Thomas, Dominican Republic, and the Bahamas.
Many extras included in your fare
While that fare may initially seem extraordinarily high compared with rival cruise lines' options, be aware that Regent Seven Seas includes many things in its fares that will be an extra (and sometimes surprise) charge elsewhere:
- 2-for-1 all-inclusive fares
- Free roundtrip air on domestic flights
- Free unlimited beverages, including fine wine and spirits
- Free open bars and lounges, plus in-suite mini-bar replenished every day
- Free prepaid gratuities
- Free specialty restaurants
- Free transfers between airport and ship
- Free unlimited WiFi
- Free valet laundry service
- Free one-night pre-cruise hotel package on concierge suites and above
- Free personal butler on penthouse suites and higher
Not a high-end online booking experience
At first, it feels like you can't book your Regent cruise outright through the cruise line's website: when you create an account or look at a sailing that interests you, it says that your information will be passed along to an agent. But, if you keep clicking through, filling out a form indicating the number of guests, your airport of choice, desired cabin, and so on, you will eventually reach the point where you can place a 7-day hold, pay the required booking deposit, or pay in full. You'll probably still be contacted by a Regent Seven Seas agent, to see if you have any questions or need to make any changes. The online booking process doesn't feel as luxurious as we'd expected - but then again, at this level of cruising, most travelers likely let the agent do the work from the get-go.
All dining options are part of your fare
Regent Seven Seas Cruises is known for its exceptional dining options. The line offers a range of gourmet restaurants, from classic steakhouse fare to Mediterranean-inspired cuisine. While some dining is open seating and others are reservation-required, all options are included as part of your fare.
Good selection of onboard activities
In addition to its fantastic dining options, Regent Seven Seas Cruises offers a variety of onboard activities and entertainment. Guests can enjoy everything from live music performances and Broadway-style shows to cooking demonstrations and wine tastings. The line also offers a range of wellness activities, including fitness classes and spa treatments.
Shore exclusions are included
Regent Seven Seas Cruises also offers a wide range of shore excursions, which are included in the cost of your cruise. These excursions are designed to provide guests with a unique and immersive experience in each destination. Excursions might include guided tours of historic landmarks, wildlife safaris, or cultural experiences such as cooking classes or traditional dance performances.
Attention to service
This cruise line prides itself on its exceptional service. The line employs a staff-to-guest ratio of 1-to-1.5, which means that there is always someone available to assist you with anything you need. The line also offers a range of personalization options, such as customized shore excursions and in-room dining experiences.
Eco-friendly cruise line
Finally, Regent Seven Seas Cruises is committed to sustainability and responsible tourism. The line has implemented a number of initiatives to reduce its environmental impact, such as using energy-efficient lighting and reducing waste. The line also works with local communities in its ports of call to support conservation and preservation efforts.
Top pick for all-inclusive luxury cruising
In summary, Regent Seven Seas Cruises is a luxury cruise line that offers all-inclusive sailings to some of the most desirable destinations in the world. The line is known for its exceptional service, gourmet dining options, and commitment to sustainability. Whether you're looking for a relaxing getaway or an immersive cultural experience, Regent Seven Seas Cruises is an excellent choice for luxury travel.

The 15 Best Cruise Lines
Which cruise line is the best.
Cruising is a popular way of traveling for many people, offering a unique experience that combines the convenience of a floating hotel with the excitement of visiting multiple destinations in one trip. In an average year, over fifteen million people say "all aboard" and set sail on an amazing vacation.
There are many different cruise lines to choose from, and each one offers a different type of experience. Some are geared towards families, while others are more focused on luxury or adventure. What would you like to see and do while you're onboard? Is a casino a must-have or a rather-avoid? Would a Broadway-caliber show tip the scales for you? Do you need a wide range of activities to keep the kiddos happy while the adults live it up or relax? The onboard activities and amenities can really make or break your vacation, so be sure you know what you're getting.
Cruise Line FAQ
Which cruise line is the best, what is included in the cost of a cruise, what is the minimum age to cruise, what are the dining options on a cruise ship, are cruise ships crowded, do i have to dress up, are activities included at destination ports, can i bring my own alcohol onboard.
Continued from above...
Another factor that can influence which cruise line you choose is the itinerary. Cruise ships travel all over the world, but some cruise lines may not have destinations available where you're hoping to go. You should also consider the size of the ship: larger ships offer more amenities, but smaller ships can access ports that bigger ships can't.
Speaking of amenities, make sure you understand what you'll get as part of your fare and which extras will come with an additional cost. For example, most cruises offer drink packages for alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, but a few have drink stations where you can get complimentary lemonade, coffee and tea. Other amenities that might be important to you are Wi-Fi, spa services, babysitting, fitness classes, and upgraded dining experiences. You can usually get a decent discount if you sign up for an amenities package before you sail, so keep an eye out for promotions in the months leading up to your sailing.
When you take a cruise, it's almost always expected that you'll tip the crew members who have attended to your needs while onboard: your cabin steward ( who probably leaves your towels folded into fun shapes every night ), your servers at your nightly meals, and the head waiter. Cruise lines have a recommended gratuity to cover all three of those staff members, usually $15-$20 per traveler, per day; the total gratuity amount may be charged automatically to your account, or you may be given envelopes to make cash payments.
While it usually isn't mandatory to pay those gratuities - you can ask to have them removed if they're applied automatically, especially if you've received poor service - it's typically considered in poor taste not to tip at the suggested levels (because crew members' salaries, much like servers at your local restaurant, are based on the expectation of tips paid by guests). And, if you receive service that goes above and beyond, adding to the recommended gratuity is always appreciated. Be aware that tips for bartenders, poolside servers, and professional services provided in the spa or elsewhere are not included in the daily suggested gratuity and may be charged automatically at the time of service.
Now that you have a good overview of the cruising experience, which cruise line should you choose? Beyond the points we already covered, here are a few additional criteria that might make it easier to pick:
- Embarkation port. You could get a great deal on a cruise, but what will it cost you to get to the port? That could involve airfare, an overnight stay or two in a nearby hotel (so that you're less likely to be affected by travel delays), and transportation from the airport or hotel to the port. This is especially true if you're taking a cruise that departs from an international destination.
- Perks for repeat cruisers. Like frequent flyer programs on airlines, most cruise lines offer benefits the more you sail. If you find yourself absolutely loving cruise vacations, it can be advantageous to put all of your eggs in one basket, so to speak. Rewards programs can include casino benefits, complimentary meals at the upgraded dining experiences, exclusive sail-away parties with free cocktails and tchotchkes, early-access booking on future cruises, and much more.
- Reputation. It's a really smart idea to see what other travelers have said about their overall experience with a cruise line before booking your trip. The ads on TV may make that private island look amazing, but someone who's been there might point out that you'll pay extra to get on that waterslide. Or, previous cruisers could tell you that despite having several formal nights on the schedule, a particular cruise line has no problem with people showing up to dinner in flip-flops and swimsuit coverups. Find out if the cruise line you're considering lines up in reality with what they advertise.
Here at Top Consumer Reviews, cruising is one of our favorite ways to travel and experience new things. And with so many different cruise lines to choose from, it can be overwhelming to know where to start. But, don't worry: take a look at our in-depth analysis of today's most popular options, find the one that's the best match for your vacation ideas and your travel party, and book that trip you've been dreaming of. Bon voyage!

Regent Seven Seas Cruises
End of cruise survey
By NYC-London , February 22 in Regent Seven Seas Cruises
Recommended Posts
Does anyone know the reasoning behind only being allowed to complete the end of cruise survey will still on the ship?
While on board, I attempted to complete the survey using my work computer but the installed security software would not let me continue. A few weeks after returning home I was contacted by IT that it was necessary for me to take a "refresher" course in security measures which I completed this morning. During the discussion period I mentioned the end of cruise survey which had to be completed while on the ship and was completely caught off guard when I was instructed in the future to be very cautious of such limitations.
I have always wondered why Regent places such restrictions on these surveys. Back in the good ole days I would carefully complete the survey while sitting in the club waiting for my flight home.

NYC-London:
Reasoning? Reasoning? Regent don't got to give you no stinkin' reason!
Apologies to that classic 1948 film--"Treasure of the Sierra Madres"..
But, seriously--
I have never gotten a coherent explanation for the change. What we have done--and we ALWAYS do--to complete that Survey while onboard is to utilize Regent's desktops --or your own tablet or phone to "log in". "Passages" provides guidance and the log-in address. Simple log-in code, usually a one-time 5-digit number as simple as, literally,
12345. You won't be saving it.
If you get into trouble, see the IT guy. Our good fortune is to have benefitted from those IT guys on many cruises who patiently provide work-arounds and guidance.
CruisetheCs
I can only assume that Regent management is not all that interested in getting reliable feedback. There are impediments to completing the survey onboard, e.g., internet problems, device issues, etc. When the internet isn't working well as is often the case, it can be very frustrating to try to complete a survey onboard. On past surveys some of the rating descriptions made no sense with regard to the questions being asked. I wouldn't be surprised if that is still the case. (Maybe someone can copy the current survey and post here.) In addition, events may occur at the very end of the cruise that are missed by completing the survey a day or two earlier.
If Regent was truly interested in feedback, management would allow and seek more detailed responses after the cruise was ended. This would give respondents a chance to go into detail about the good or not so good aspects of the cruise and avoid hassles of trying to complete the survey onboard.
CruisetheCs:
There is an opportunity for a more detailed response upon return to residence. We have utilized this alternative to praise--or offer constructive comments--after "sober" reflection.
That being reaching out to Jennefer Teegen, Director of Guest Experience & Loyalty. Results have been to receive feedback--
And action .
Specific example: Prodding Regent to offer one opportunity per cruise segment for military veterans to gather for an informal get-together. NOT a cocktail party. And, not necessarily limited to a date coinciding with a significant historical event such as "D-Day" or the American Memorial Day.
Simple meet and mingle for a pre-breakfast or lunch gathering, then break bread at designated Compass Rose tables; or meeting at a Lounge for pre-dinner drinks and conversation.
Such venues posted in "Passages" as to time and location.
Positive result over the past several years. We have attended each gathering, often hosted by the Cruise Director. And this includes both pre, and post-COVID cruises. Most-recent example was on Mariner's January-February '24 World Cruise San Francisco via Hawaii to French Polynesia segment. There were two such gatherings. Soos--

Our on-board completion of the Survey always includes incorporating a thank-you to Regent management and the Cruise Director for continuing this practice.
And, a quick edit to my earlier: Title is "The Treasure of the Sierra Madre". An additional great line from that movie: "Water is precious, more precious than gold!" Thanks again to Bogart and Walter Huston, amongst others.
Perhaps @Mike Moore or @Jennefer Teegen can enlighten us as to why the survey has to be completed while still on board.
We had always assumed that the technical reason was because you were connecting to the ship's intranet rather than the wider internet?
Certainly agree that the format of the survey could do with a revamp. Some of the ratings are unsuitable to the question. Some of the freeform " Tell us more " boxes are placed so it is difficult to know to what they refer.
There is a need for some additional questions such as " Which crew members excelled during your cruise? " and " Was WiFi connectivity & connection to the internet satisfactory? "
Hi @flossie009 - I’m afraid that I can no longer provide you all with any assistance, as last month my time with Regent came to an end. It was my pleasure to help the CC community over these past 15 years, and I wish you all fair winds and following seas!

Mike, thank you so much for your help relating to excursions on Grand Cayman , January 2024, Grandeur, on my first ever cruise. The descriptions were rewritten and I was able to book the correct excursion. We thoroughly enjoyed our swim with the stingrays, thank you for making it happen.
I wish you well in the future.

So sorry to hear you are gone. You will be greatly missed on this forum as you were the one person we could always count on to help us out. i thank you very much for all the help you gave me.
I wish you all the best in the future.

It is for "Operational Reasons," obviously!
IMHO, if Regent were truly interested in our feedback, they would allow the survey to be completed for at least a few days after the end of the segment. I love Regent, but this is one item that goes in my "con" column, having spent significant time working on the survey just to have it thrown away because I tried to submit it just before disembarkation time while still on the ship (and not disembarking). Very few people are going to go to the trouble to figure out who at Regent to contact and follow through with a message outside the survey, as you have done.
naplessailor
I no longer even try to fill out the survey as I am usually too busy during the last few days enjoying my cruise to take the time to fill it out. I feel sorry for the staff because I try to recognize the outstanding staff that went above and beyond. And then on a back to back cruise, you need to do it before that cruise ends and I am too busy. Would be nice to have the window expire a few days post cruise as most cruise lines do.

My opinion? They don’t really care to read what we have to say. I refuse to spend valuable time while still on the cruise trying to deal with their cumbersome survey. I don’t even try anymore
Really, really; How valuable is your time? (As to completing that end-of-cruise Survey.)
Surely, situations occurring earlier in that particular cruise segment which were problematical would have occasioned taking the time to discuss and/or fill out a mid-cruise form requesting response and action of some sort by the General Manager; Cruise Director; Housekeeping Manager, or whomever.
CC Boards are replete with narratives about responses from Management to guests' concerns. These are read, and acted upon. Ours have been; often by a request for a follow-up personal meeting with the appropriate manager. Few and far-between need for such by us. But, they have occurred.
Don't throw the baby out with the bathwater.
Specific mention of Crew members in an end of cruise Survey from those literally sweeping the decks (Deck 12, in particular in the early morning hours), to bartenders, Suite Attendants/Butlers; and those at various restaurant venues DOES have an impact. Promotions. A little-extra time-off. A "pat on the back" from a supervisor recognizing a job well-done.
Spouse and self do not consider this an excessive burden.

Thank you @Mike Moore . Best wishes for your future endeavours. Wherever you land they will be lucky to have you.
Appreciate all the kind words. Participating on CC is one of the things I’ll miss the most!
@Mike Moore it has always been very helpful to read your responses to various issues that are important to this community. I hope that Regent will assign another administrator to monitor this board and Facebook. Regent can gain valuable information about their product and nip problems in the bud.
Good luck in your next journey!

I keep notes on my phone as I see someone do something well or Bad. I agree the internet is horrible to try and struggle with this and if you have a port day the last day or a port that blocks internet (e.g. Portland UK) it is a Challange and waste of my time. I would prefer to do it on the plane ride home or at home. It is a disservice to those employees who deserve recognition and Regent is the one that is preventing this feedback by utilizing such a cumbersome process.
On the new Grandeur at the beginning of the month. Absolutely beautiful ship. But there are issues with IT that seem to generate only from Head Office Miami.
The survey: Will not work on IOS devices, iPad or iPhone. The business office IT guy told us this little tidbit but the notices onboard did not, so we (& many others) wasted time trying to access the survey. He told us to use one of the four computers in the business office. On the last day there was a line to get in !! Several people stated that they did the survey in there at 10:00 p.m. when not busy.
But Regent still has the paper Mid-Cruise Survey to be hand written!!
IT itself: Regent now has an app being advertised at the terminal to download and use onboard. It is useless, has no info and the IT guy onboard stated that it is useless as Miami is trying to set it up and test!! Their lead IT guy setting up the app, quit. So they are looking for a new one. The app is widely available on so many cruise lines, why is the Miami office so far behind in all its IT issues?
1 hour ago, zak477 said: The survey: Will not work on IOS devices, iPad or iPhone
This must be a recent issue, or one particular to Grandeur, as we have always completed the survey on our iPads on the other Regent ships.
Yes. The IT specialist, onboard, stated that although Regent has been doing updates with the IT systems on the ships, the Grandeur still has bugs to iron out. And as of the sailing we were on, the Miami IT manager had quit so there was no one, as yet, to overseas the updates/corrections/improvements. We sailed Jan 26th and disembarked on Feb. 4th.

Review: Regent Seven Seas Explorer
Reviewed by Jessica Puckett
What is the line? Regent Seven Seas
Name of ship? Seven Seas Explorer
Passenger occupancy? 746 passengers
Itinerary? Central America, through Mexico, Honduras, and Belize
Start out with the big picture—what is this cruise line known for? Regent Seven Seas is known for its luxe ships and amenities. The line has some of the largest suites at sea, with spacious verandas and bathrooms with marble-trimmed tubs. It’s also known for its swanky onboard art collections.
Tell us about the ship in general: It may have been built in 2015, but Seven Seas Explorer still feels as modern and fresh as many lines’ newest launches. Spaces on board are gracious and formal, with striking chandeliers made of crystal and hand-blown glass, as well as a world-class art collection featuring paintings by Picasso and Miró. There’s plenty of space and activities to keep passengers entertained across its 10 decks, but with less than 800 passengers, it’s a good middle ground for travelers who don’t love being in a crowd.
Who is onboard? Passengers on Seven Seas Explorer are mainly older couples and retirees, with a few honeymooners and several solo travelers sprinkled throughout as well.
Describe the cabins: Every stateroom on Seven Seas Explorer is a suite with a private balcony. Even the smallest are some of the most spacious at sea, with king-size beds, a lounge area, a double-bathroom vanity, and separate shower and tub—a rarity on cruise ships. The balcony is large enough for a chaise lounge and a table and chairs to enjoy a glass of wine (or maybe the complimentary bottle of Champagne left by your cabin steward upon arrival).
Tell us about the crew: The ship’s crew were white-gloved and formal; whether you’re ordering a four-course surf-and-turf meal in Prime 7 or you’re asking your cabin steward for a cup of peppermint tea before you go to bed, expect every detail to exude the ultimate hospitality.
What food and drink options are available on board? Seven Seas Explorer has 10 restaurants and bars: two main dining restaurants and three specialty restaurants. The specialty offerings include Prime 7, a premium steakhouse; Chartreuse, which specializes in modern French fine-dining; and Pacific Rim, a sleek Asian-fusion concept. Each specialty restaurant requires a reservation but does not cost extra. The standout for me was Pacific Rim, which serves decadent dishes like miso black cod wrapped in hoba leaf, Chinese barbecue pork ribs with char siu sauce, snow crab, and crispy duck spring rolls. One of the main dining options, Compass Rose, is no slouch either, with three-course seated table service and Versace tableware. There’s also a pool buffet, coffee shop, and breakfast buffet that transforms to an Italian outdoor restaurant for dinner.
As far as bars and lounges go, Seven Seas Explorer has you covered. Dip into the Meridian Lounge for a pre-dinner aperitif, hors d’oeuvres, and live piano music, or stop into the Observation Lounge for cocktails and dancing. The Connoisseurs' Club is a perfect spot to grab a cigar and a nightcap while chatting with fellow passengers until the wee hours. But, I think my favorite place to grab a drink was the pool bar, where tropical tipples are served in the sunshine around the ship’s striking plunge pool.
Is there a spa on board and is it worth visiting? The spa is certainly worth a visit on a sea day, or on a day when you might not feel like going into port. The treatment rooms are serene and secluded, and I received a top-notch massage. The spa also has amenities open to everyone on board at no charge, including an aromatherapy steam room, chill room, and infrared sauna. Right behind the spa on the aft deck of the ship is a small deck with an infinity pool, the perfect place to soak and watch the sunset after a relaxing treatment.
Activities and entertainment Regent’s fleet offers Broadway-caliber shows backed by a live five-piece orchestra in its plush Constellation Theater. Smaller-scale piano performances and the like also take place nightly in bars and lounges throughout the ship. On the sports deck you’ll also find a pickleball court, ping pong table, shuffleboard, putting green, and netted driving range bay.
How was the experience for families? There seemed to be relatively few children on board, but the Club Mariner Youth program features kids’ programming like dance parties or mini-putt tournaments for children ages five to 17.
Where did it sail and how were the excursions? Did anything stand out? Our voyage sailed roundtrip from Miami, calling upon Costa Maya and Cozumel in Mexico; Roatan, Honduras; and Harvest Caye, Regent parent company Norwegian Cruise Line’s private island in Belize. Roatan was a particular highlight, as it’s a destination that’s complicated to reach if you’re not cruising. There was enough time in the day at port to soak up the gorgeous white-sand beaches, have a tour through the tropical forests, and sample local ceviche.
Are there any stand-out sustainability or green initiatives about this cruise? Every guest receives a Regent reusable water bottle, and the ship has plenty of refilling stations scattered around.
Finally, give a sentence or two on why the cruise is worth booking. If you’re looking for a cruise that offers a sense of elegance and pampering, a voyage aboard Regent Seven Seas Explorer is for you.

Regent’s Seven Seas Society cruise loyalty program: The ultimate guide
Among luxury cruise lines, Regent Seven Seas Cruises has one of the most robust loyalty programs.
Despite being a relatively small brand with just five ships, it offers an impressive seven tiers of loyalty status as part of what it calls the Seven Seas Society. Each of the tiers brings a number of perks, some quite valuable.
As you start to rise through the Seven Seas Society tiers, you'll find yourself rewarded with everything from onboard spending credits and free onboard Wi-Fi service to — at the highest levels — discounts of 5% to 10% on every cruise you book.
Those benefits work out to be real money in your pocket, as they will lower the cost of your cruise vacation.
For more cruise guides, news and tips, sign up for TPG's cruise newsletter .
The robustness of Regent's program is all the more impressive, given that the line is one of the most all-inclusive in the world. Regent includes a lot of benefits in its fares — such as drinks and shore excursions — that other lines give away only as loyalty perks to their best customers.
That leaves Regent with fewer perks to offer in its loyalty program. Still, it has come up with some creative ways to reward its most loyal fans, including several that will make a big impact on their wallets.
Ways to earn points
The points-earning system for the Seven Seas Society program is about as simple as can be: You will earn 1 point for every night you stay on a Regent ship.
That's it. There are no bonus points for staying in a top suite, as there are at some lines. Nor will you get extra points for spending certain amounts of money with the line, as is sometimes the case.
The only exception to the above is for solo cruisers who pay a "single supplement" of 75% or more to stay in a cabin designed for two. They get 2 points for every night they stay on a ship.
For the most part, though, if you take a 10-night cruise with Regent, you will get 10 points (which the line calls "nights"). Take a 20-night cruise, and you will get 20 points.
Related: 5 secrets to getting a luxury cruise for less
Note that in most cases, your points will accrue upon completion of the cruise on which they are earned. In the case of Regent's longer Grand Voyages and World Cruises, you'll see your points pop into your account at the end of each official segment of the trip. (You can access your account and more information about Regent's loyalty program at the Regent website ).
Either way, though, if the number of nights you are sailing during a cruise will elevate you to the next tier of rewards, you will enjoy instant recognition at the higher tier from the moment you board — a great feature of the program in our eyes.
One notable caveat to points earning in the program: You only will get credit for nights where you actually are present on a Regent ship. If you have to leave a cruise early, you won't earn points for the nights you are not on board. You also won't earn points for any nights spent in hotels as part of Regent's pre- and post-cruise hotel and land programs.
Seven Seas Society tiers and benefits
There are seven tiers in the Seven Seas Society program:
- Bronze (7-20 nights)
- Silver (21-74 nights)
- Gold (75-199 nights)
- Platinum (200-399 nights)
- Titanium (400-999 nights)
- Diamond (1,000-1,999 nights)
- Commodore (2,000-plus nights)
Regent only offers cruises of seven nights or longer, so you'll be at the first tier of the program, Bronze, after a single sailing. If you book one of Regent's longer sailings as your first cruise with the line, you might even catapult into the second or third tier of the program after just one sailing.
Related: A beginners guide to cruise line loyalty programs
As is typical for cruise line loyalty programs, the entry-level tier (Bronze) doesn't bring all that much in terms of truly valuable rewards. The most alluring benefit at this level is the exclusive Seven Seas Society savings that are available on some departures.
In addition, Bronze members get:
- Access to an online personal profile
- An invitation to an onboard Seven Seas Society cocktail reception
- Double loyalty points when paying extra to sail solo
The double loyalty points for sailing solo only apply when paying a "single supplement" of at least 75% of the regular cruise fare for a cabin designed for two people.
Upon reaching the second tier of the program, Silver, things start getting more interesting. In addition to the Bronze-level rewards, you'll get priority access when making dinner reservations for the three main specialty restaurants on Regent ships: Prime 7, Chartreuse and Pacific Rim. This is a great perk as it'll give you a better shot at getting the dinner times you want at these eateries.
The Silver level also will get you the following:
- Priority online shore excursion reservations
- One hour of complimentary phone time every time you sail
- A commemorative pin
- A newsletter
At the next level up (Gold), the perks include all of the above plus a $100 shipboard credit per suite every time you sail. We love that perk, as it amounts to real money in your pocket. Plus, you'll get:
- Unlimited Wi-Fi for free with four logins for up to four devices
- Two more hours of free phone time (for three hours in total)
- Priority disembarkation at voyage completion in select ports
- Choice of newspaper service from papers around the world
- Exclusive activities on board or ashore on every voyage
The Platinum level brings six more hours of phone time and complimentary luggage tags, two perks that don't get us all that excited. The latter perk, in particular, is something that seems better in an entry-level tier (though to be fair, these luggage tags are made from quality leather).
But the Platinum level also adds the use of free custom air service once per sailing, which can come in handy. It lets you call a Regent concierge who will help customize your included-in-the-fare flights, so they work best for your schedule. Otherwise, you're stuck with the flights that Regent picks for you or have to pay an extra charge to change them.
Related: Look inside Regent's swankiest ship ever
The Platinum level also brings a 10% discount on Regent Choice shore excursions (the line's collection of niche or intimate extra-fee tours), hotel and land programs. This one perk alone could end up saving you hundreds of dollars.
As noted above, you'll be at the Bronze tier after just one sailing with Regent. Reaching the Silver tier could take as many as three cruises if you stick to seven-night sailings. But you also could reach it in just one longer cruise.
The number of cruises it'll take you to reach the Gold and Platinum tiers will depend on whether you do short or long sailings. If you stick to seven-night sailings, you'd have to take a whopping 29 cruises to reach the Platinum tier. But there are super long Regent cruises, such as a 168-night world cruise planned for 2025, that will get you almost all the way to Platinum level with a single voyage.
The elite level that makes a difference
We like quite a few of the perks available at the Bronze through Platinum levels of the Seven Seas Society program. But it is at the Titanium level that things really start to impress us.
Specifically, the Titanium level comes with four really nice perks:
- Free private transfers between your home or the airport and the ship, within a 100-mile radius, on embarkation and disembarkation day
- Free unlimited dry cleaning
- An additional 15% discount on Regent Choice shore excursions, hotels and land programs (for 25% total savings)
- Access to your suite at 1 p.m. on embarkation day
We absolutely love the private-transfer perk, which lets you start and end your trips in style. There's nothing like having a private car pick you up at home at the start of the trip or a chauffeur waiting for you upon arrival at the airport. We also love the free unlimited dry cleaning perk. The discounts on shore excursions, hotels and land programs at this level can save you big money — more than $1,000 when booking some add-on land programs.
Related: The best credit cards for booking cruises
Getting to the Titanium level in the Seven Seas Society takes a whole lot of cruising. At a minimum, you'd need to spend the equivalent of more than a year at sea to hit the 400-night threshold for the tier. You could do that by sailing 58 seven-night cruises, 29 two-week cruises or three world cruises (the latter typically lasting around 150 to 170 days).
Best Seven Seas Society elite perk
Regent's Seven Seas Society program doesn't include a truly over-the-top perk, like the free cruises that rival Silversea Cruises gives out to members who hit certain milestones. But we do appreciate the 5% and 10% discounts on cruise fares that the line offers to members who reach the Diamond and Commodore tiers, respectively. That can be worth thousands of dollars when booking some sailings. Note that these discounts are available on any sailing you book, not just select Seven Seas Society sailings (for which, as mentioned above, you can get discounts upon reaching the Bronze tier of the program).
Diamond-level members also get one free Regent Choice shore excursion per voyage segment, up to $250 in value, as well as an invitation to new ship christenings (something that doesn't happen all that often, alas).
The Commodore level adds two more perks that, while not worth a huge amount monetarily, are about as cool as it gets in the world of loyalty programs:
- A commemorative Commodore officers jacket
- A commemorative plaque in your name placed on all ships in the Regent fleet
The cutoffs for the Diamond and Commodore tiers are 1,000 nights and 2,000 nights at sea, respectively — levels that only the most dedicated cruisers can reach. But with years of heavy sailings, the feat is doable.
Related: Regent unveils epic, monthslong world cruise
Note that, as is often the case with cruise line loyalty programs, Regent customers do not have to requalify for status each year. Seven Seas Society members keep their points at the end of each year and continue to accrue points indefinitely. That means that someone who hits Commodore status (and gets that cool jacket) will remain at that top-tier level forever (or until Regent makes a change to the program).
Such "forever status" is one of the great allures of cruise line loyalty programs. Many airline frequent flyer programs, by contrast, require members to requalify for status each year.
Bottom line
Regent Seven Seas Cruises has a robust frequent cruiser program with some great perks at its higher tiers. While it doesn't offer a single perk that is truly knock-your-socks-off, such as the free cruises that a few lines give to customers who reach high levels of status, it brings significant discounts and value-added perks that begin at mid-tier levels.
This is all the more impressive given that Regent is one of the most all-inclusive lines in cruising. Regent includes so many things in its fares — such as drinks, unlimited Wi-Fi and shore excursions — that it leaves very little available to offer to loyal customers as an upgrade other than straight-out discounts on trips. But the line has found other ways to add value — from free concierge service when arranging flights to a commemorative Commodore jacket.

The Site provides access to a monthly only survey online community (the "Program") operated and managed by Seven Seas Cruises S. de R.L. d/b/a Regent Seven Seas Cruises ("RSSC") (the "Company"). The Program is an online survey where registered members can answer questions for research purposes.
On 9/20/2019 at 8:25 AM, Bellaggio Cruisers said: If Regent wants the surveys completed, it's simple. The written form should be left in the suite, and can be completed anytime, up to 2 weeks after the cruise. Left at reception desk, in the suite or mailed when you are home. It was that way in March on Explorer. .

It was so-much easier in the old (pre-COVID) days to manually complete the End of Cruise Survey. Just had to remember to BLOCK PRINT narrative comments, and keep within the lines. Apparently, these were read by a computer, or such. But, of course, this changed by the time we completed our October-November 2021 Explorer cruise.
Regent Seven Seas Cruises. On January 16 we received a Regent survey. Does anyone know the reasoning behind only being allowed to complete the end of cruise survey will still on the ship? While on board, I attempted to complete the survey using my work computer but the installed security software would not let me continue. A few weeks after returning home I was con...
Regent is going to change things with or without our input, so please fill out the survey so maybe we have a chance at influencing what they change. I can do without the included shore excursions if we can get a credit for not using that service. It's a money maker for Regent so I doubt they will change that.
