About Our Snorkeling Tours in Key Largo & Florida Reef Locations

Join us on a magical adventure to the coral reefs located at the “World Famous” Key Largo National Marine Sanctuary, also known as the original John Pennekamp Underwater Park in Key Largo, Florida!

Each Key Largo snorkeling tour will visit one reef location. Some of our favorite coral reefs in Key Largo are Molasses Reef, Pickles Reef, White Banks Reef, Wheelers Reef, Grecian Rocks, and the Christ of the Abyss Statue located at Dry Rocks.

The coral reefs are located several miles offshore of Key Largo and require 30 minutes travel time each way aboard our fast and safe, coast guard approved, snorkel boat. The vessel has strong sturdy ladders for easy access to the water. Each tour is 2.5 hours which allows for 1.5 hours of snorkel time at the coral reef.

Join Sundiver on a 2.5 hour fun and entertaining snorkel tour to one of the amazing living coral reefs offshore of Key Largo located in the Florida Keys National Marina Sanctuary. We will take you on a large, safe and comfortable vessel with big sturdy ladders that make it easy to get on and off the boat. We offer 3 trips daily (9am - 12noon - 3pm). Don't come here! They had us arrive 1 hour before the reservation time, which was very unnecessary. They also docked us on the boat late, so in total we waited for about 1 hour and a half before actually getting on board. As soon as we boarded we wanted to enjoy the ride and views, but the crew yelled out instructions over the loud motor, and you couldn't even hear. They could have given us directions and safety while we were waiting on shore. The crew treated us like a herd of animals, and were very unprofessional- whispering and giggling to each other about customers they didn't like. There were 50 people on the boat as well, so we were very squished. I give them an extra star because the reef was beautiful and overall was very affordable. Would not come here again or recommend though.

Nice trip, went to one reef, White Banks, a nice location, spent over an hour there. Lots of colorful corals and fish, a large area, so plenty of room to spread out and see lots of marine life. Price was higher than other Snorkel shops, but was the only one available at short notice.

Excellent experience and the captain and the crew were awesome!!! We were able to see a lot of great fish and had a fantastic time!!! Would highly recommend this location. One caution, the hours are different at different times, so if they dont answer the phone at 8am, try calling back at 9am to book the same-day tours.

Check out lady: awful. No patience or customer service skills. If you want to be herded like cattle than by all means go here. Reef was pretty...but being stuck on a boat with 40 people just isn't worth it. ...I only went because the bachelorette group made me and I'm still bitter about it.

We had a blast. We went in end of September so there was only 10 of us on the boat. Crew was very nice and helpful.We stay on boat 3 hr , about 30 min to reef and 2 hr at the reef . We were the only boat in there, that was very nice( no crowd in the water) With that much time you can swim get some rest on the boat and go back to water. We really enjoy. It was about $29, totally worth the money:)

This was the most terrifying adventure of my life. The boat parked 100 yards from the reef, in 2 ' chop. The captain said you will have to struggle to get there, but the current will drag you back to the boat. I have snorkeled in the Bahamas and am a decent swimmer. I got about 25 yards and was exhausted. I turned around and pooped out about 25 feet from the boat. The crew threw a rope and dragged me in. I am relatively sure that if I would not have been in range, they would not have gotten wet to save me. In summary, this sucked. Run away!

Captain Joe and Oscar were great. It was my first time snorkeling were very helpful and professional. Short boat trip out and back to shore.

This was the best choice we made for snorkeling tour today. The staffs are really friendly and everything was smooth. The captain brought us to the great spot!!! We were able to see a LOT of fishes and luckily a turtle too! The water was quite clear!!! I wanna do this again!

This place is a joke. Don't book here. We had a private charter scheduled, paid over $500. We drove down from Miami. When we got there at 9am, it wasn't open, even though the website says it opens at 8am. We were told we the charter was cancelled and we couldn't get our refund because the manager wasn't there. The man that we spoke with told us he was just "sales" and he couldn't tell us anything about refund. He was rude, unfriendly and a waste of space as far as being able to help us with anything about the services. He yelled at us and threatened that we were on camera. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere.

Very professional. Nice, clean boat. Captain and first mate know their stuff. Organized. Girl at ticket counter was super nice. Boat left right on time. Captain reviews safety procedures bf leaving dock and he had a great sense of humor. Oscar the first mate explains the snorkeling equip. There is water on the boat for free and sodas for a dollar. You are also welcome to bring your own refreshments and snacks.

Key Largo , the northernmost and longest of the Florida Keys, is a top destination for divers and snorkelers alike. Bordered by Florida Bay and the Atlantic Ocean, the self-titled Dive Capital of the World is home to the first undersea park in the U.S., John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park . This subaquatic treasure features 70 nautical square miles of sparkling turquoise waters and the shallow-water living coral reefs of the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary – the only living coral barrier reef in North America and the third-largest living coral reef in the world. These protected and vibrant reefs are home to an abundance of marine life: more than 6,000 species.

One of the most notable attractions when diving or snorkeling in Key Largo is the nearly 9-foot tall, 4,500-pound bronze sculpture known as Christ of the Abyss. It sits deep in the waters of John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park. The statue is the third in a series. The other two lie in the waters of the Italian Riviera and on land at a port in Grenada to honor those who lost their lives at sea. Florida's statue has been submerged since 1965.

After consulting both expert opinion and traveler sentiment, U.S. News identified the following snorkeling tours as the best available. In addition to vibrant reefs, shipwrecks and statues, snorkelers could see angelfish, parrotfish, sea turtles, spotted eagle rays and dolphins, among other marine life.

Note: Wearing sunscreen is encouraged, but you must wear reef-safe sunscreen that is not made with harmful chemicals like oxybenzone and octinoxate.

Sundiver Snorkeling Tours – Shallow Reef Snorkel Tour

Price: Adults from $60; kids from $50 Duration: 2.5 hours

If you're traveling with kids or first-time snorkelers, consider this tour. Sundiver offers daily, 2 1/2-hour tours to the reefs at the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary. The 9 a.m. trip features a visit to the Christ of the Abyss statue, while the noon and 3 p.m. tours provide views of an abundance of marine life, including tropical fish and possibly sea turtles, lobsters, starfish and rays. A sunset and snorkel reef adventure is also available seasonally and sets sail at 5:30 p.m.

Prices for all tours start at $60 for ages 13 years and older and are $50 for children 12 and younger. Riders of all ages – who are not swimming or snorkeling – can come on board for about $50 per person. Anyone younger than 18 that plans to snorkel must be accompanied by an adult. If you have your own snorkel equipment, or just want to be able to explore John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park without instruction from a guide, consider signing up for one of the official tours operated by the park. After a short boat ride, you'll be given a brief snorkel lesson at the reef before having time to explore the waters on your own. Note that crew members do not act as guides and the boat stays moored for the duration of your time at the reef. The 2 1/2-hour excursion departs several times a day in the morning and afternoon and features up to 1 1/2 hours of water time.

Prices for the trip start at $38.95 for adults and $35 for ages 17 and younger. Equipment rental is an additional fee. Personal in-water guides are available for an additional fee per snorkeler for a maximum of six. Patrons describe the experience as incredible and praise the crew and the reasonable prices. Scuba diving and glass-bottom boat tours are also available.

FUN EVENING ON THE WATER!

This was so much fun! They provide everything you need to have a great time. I went solo and have kayaked many times before. The catfish you feed are everywhere and there is a ton of other wildlife to enjoy along the way to the bridge. There is a phone number you call in to, to be able to hear the guide talk the entire time. I brought my headphones to listen. Its kayaking and you will get wet.

The experience was great! Absolutely 10/10. The guides were fun and had some great commentary and knowledge on the area and sea life. The water was calm and not being in the sun was a big plus for me. Getting to see through the kayak is so fun we got to see so much! If family comes out here again I’d definitely go again! If you’re thinking about booking this let this be the review that tells you DO IT! You won’t regret it. I made memories I’ll carry forever.

This was the best part of our trip! So much fun! Call ahead for reservations, well in advance. We had 5 nights on our trip and I called as soon as we arrived in St. Pete, and they only had an opening on our last night. I was worried since we had little to none kayak experience, but we did fine. The tour guide was excellent. We mainly saw catfish, but we found a few different types of crabs and the tour guide pulled them out for anyone who wanted to hold. Weather was perfect! We highly recommend. It is a must do!

Fun Date! The weather was perfect. The water was very calm and it was a peaceful evening on the water with no mosquitos either. You go slowly enough that you do not need to be in shape to paddle. The people helping you in the kayak are patient and kind and keep you dry. It was so fun to feed the fish and actually touch them when they came to the surface. The bottoms of the boat are not glass, but plastic. You mostly see the fish beside your boat, not underneath, but it was a worthwhile, laid back tour all ages would enjoy!
