The Zombies Reveal 2023 North American Tour

by Tina Benitez-Eves June 23, 2023, 11:53 am

The Zombies will kick off a four-week North American tour in October in support of their seventh studio album Different Game .

Videos by American Songwriter

Following the recent release of Different Game , earlier in 2023, The Zombies played a series of shows at the SXSW Festival in Austin, Texas, in March, along with a sold-out five-week tour in their native UK.

“There are bands that I revere and adore, but many of them all seemed to stop — at least in terms of having the same enthusiasm and energy for creating new stuff,” said founding Zombies member, keyboardist and chief songwriter Rod Argent in a press release. “That’s the reason I’m in this, to carry on with the creation of new music, because that’s so enticing. It’s so lovely. And to be 77 years old and to be told the other day that the algorithms show the main audience on streaming is between 22 and 37. That’s ridiculous, quite ridiculous, but again, very satisfying.”

Argent and co-founding singer Colin Blunstone keep The Zombies going, along with guitarist Tom Toomey, bassist, SĂžren Koch, and longtime drummer Steve Rodford.

In March 2023, The Zombies also premiered their documentary,  Hung Up On A Dream , at SXSW, and will release it later in the year.

The film, directed by musician and filmmaker Robert Schwartzman, chronicles the British rockers’ formation while in school in St. Albans, Hertfordshire, England in the early 1960s. It follows the group through their rise as The Zombies with hits like “ Time of the Season ,” “Tell Her No,” and “ She’s Not There ,” and the band’s further ascent as inductees into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2019.

the zombies tour setlist

“The soundtrack of my life is The Zombies’ timeless [1968] album ‘Odessey and Oracle,'” said Schwartzman in an earlier statement. “It inspired me to start writing songs and chase the dream of being in a band.

“Flash forward, now I get to tell these stories on the screen, bringing together my passion for music and film, all set to the backdrop of one of my favorite recording artists, The Zombies. Their story has to be told, the music is too good to not give fans and audiences a better perspective of their career to this point. I can’t express how happy I am to be on this journey with them.”

The Zombies are a psychedelic rock band from St Albans, UK who since their formation in 1961 have had more splits and reincarnations than most.

The original line up: Colin Blunstone (lead vocals), Rod Argent (organ), Paul Atkinson (guitar), Chris White (bass) and Hugh Grundy (drums) met at school and started playing locally at Rugby clubs in their hometown. Early in their career the band were invited to play in a battle of the bands competition hosted by London Evening News which they went onto win, eventually scoring a record deal with Decca Records. Here they released their first chart success with “She’s Not There” in 1964 which peaked in the charts at number 12. Later that year it was released in the US and achieved similar success proving popular on many radio stations.

Following in the footsteps of the British invasion, the band embarked on their first US trip as they promoted the new single release by playing up to seven performances a day. It was their injection of jazz and Blunstone’s distinctive raspy vocals which made them stand out in the current trend of British rock music which was lapped up across the pond. In 1965 The Zombies made their debut US television appearance on the show Hullabaloo performing the hit single “She’s Not There” in front of an audience of screaming teenage girls, hysteria had definitely set in.

With the US market embracing the band, they released their next single “Tell Her No” which peaked in the US charts at number six but failed to reach the top 40 in their homeland. In 1965 The Zombies released their debut album “Begin Here” which contained a mixture of original and classic R&B covers.

In 1967 the band signed to CBS Records with whom they recorded the follow up album “Odessey and Oracle” released the following year. With the album being recorded on a tight budget and time frame, tensions were high in the band during the recording process as disagreements arose regarding creative differences. So much so that the band called it quits before the album was even released. The album only received a US release and despite no longer being a functioning band, the single “Time of the Season” went to number three on the Billboard charts in 1969.

Following the split of The Zombies, Rob Argent pursued his own project called Argent in 1968 with Chris White joining him as principal songwriter. While Colin Blunstone embarked on a solo career, Paul Atkinson and Hugh Grundy stepped out of the spotlight working behind the scenes with Columbia Records.

In 1990 the band briefly reformed with Blunstone, Grundy and White to record the 1991 album “New World” alongside Argent and Atkinson and featured several guests on guitar. In 1997 The Zombies released their ultimate greatest hits compilation “Zombie Heaven” featuring a staggering 120 tracks which included some previously unreleased material. To promote its release, the band joined Blunstone at his solo performance at London’s Jazz CafĂ© to perform their hit singles “She’s Not Here” and “Time of the Season”.

In honour of the 40th anniversary of the album “Odessey and Oracle” the surviving members Blunstone and Argent accompanied by Keith Airey and Jim and Steve Rodford, the band performed three nights at London’s Shepherd’s Bush Empire in 2008 which was recorded and released as a live DVD.

The band continue to tour the US, Canada and Europe annually and in their prolific career have influenced the likes of Super Furry Animals, Badly Drawn Boys and Arctic Monkeys.

Live reviews

The Zombies perhaps deliver one of the most sophisticated performances out there today, playing each tune in their setlist with a delicate yet captivating delivery.

Lead vocalist, Colin Blunstone, proves himself to be a true gentleman with his well-kept appearance wearing a suit on stage and politely complimenting the great qualities of his band members. Blunstone’s voice also carries a gentle, serene quality that is hauntingly beautiful and adds a great depth to each song. This can clearly be depicted in the song “A Rose for Emily”, which might leave a tear in the audience’s eye after hearing Blunstone’s angelic voice. However the most defining aspect of the Zombies’ sound might be Rod Argent’s keyboard playing. Argent uses the keyboards and organ to create various sounds, which helped define the Zombies unique blend of styles ranging from psychedelic, jazz, and baroque pop. The organ solo in “Time of the Season” might be one of the most pristinely presented organ solos in musical history.

The audience at the Zombies’ concert had a great time dancing to hits such as “Tell Her No” and She’s Not There”, and the crowd nearly went into a full fledged freak-out when “Time of the Season” was performed. The other members in the band also accommodated Rod Argent at the show by performing songs from his other band, Argent, which included a performance of the song “Hold Your Head Up” with the audience enthusiastically singing the chorus word for word. The setlist also consisted of quite a few songs off the critically revered album, Odessey and Oracle, which Rolling Stone magazine has included on its list of 500 Greatest Albums of All Time, and Rod Argent was sure to inform the audience how David Grohl from the Foo Fighters stated that it was his favorite album of all time. The Zombies are seasoned professionals that know how to entertain a crowd and play their music with great precision and enthusiasm. Everyone in the band always seemed to be having a good time when on stage and always acted courteously and graciously towards the audience, who accepted their warm personality and delightful music with great enthusiasm.

The Zombies concert last evening at the Danforth Music Hall was truly outstanding. Divided into two sets, Set 1 was the current Zombies touring band featuring Colin Blunstone, Rod Argent, Jim Rodford, Steve Rodford, and Tom Toomey. They played the gamut - with cuts from their very first album to the latest release, Still Got That Hunger. They even finished off the set with a Colin and Rod acoustic number - The Way I Feel Inside.

Set 2, of course, was the classic Odessey and Oracle album, in its entirety. This set saw original band members Chris White and Hugh Grundy take the stage. They were supplemented with Darian Sahanaja from the Brian Wilson Band along with Vivienne Boucherat, Chris' wife. Steve and Jim participated in the second half as well.

All in all, it was a tremendous evening. The Toronto audience - a complete sell out - gave the band a number of extended standing ovations! I am sure this was extremely gratifying for the band and will hopefully mean more Toronto shows in the future.

The outstanding setlist is as follows:

I Want You Back Again

Edge of the Rainbow

Tell Her No

You've Really Got a Hold on Me / Bring It On Home to Me

Road Runner

Just Out of Reach

Chasing the Past

Hold Your Head Up

My husband and I just saw The Zombies at The Golden Nugget in Las Vegas, where we live. I have been a lifelong fan since the 60's. When the radio plays: Tell Her No, Time Of The Season, or She's Not There, I turn it way up. We are huge Argent fans and when they played Hold Your Head Up, it was so special to us! Colin Blunstone on vocals is always amazing. The harmonies with him, Rod Argent and the rest of the band were spot on...fantastic! Tom Toomey was smokin on guitar, would have liked to have heard more solos from him. Jim Rodford on bass and his son Steve on drums were solid and punchy and really drove the band. Besides their hits, the new stuff slso sounded great! We appreciate talented musicians because my husband is an accomplished pro-keyboardist who toured with Chick Corea, does sound design, producing, studio and live gigs. He led the band Aurora Borealis (jazz, rock, fusion) in L.A. in the 70's. As for myself, I was the original bassist/lead singer for the female band VIXEN from 1970 - 1983.

After so many years of admiration for The Zombies, it was a true pleasure to have seen them live. Keep rockin guys!!!

The artful craft and lyrical and harmonic beauty of a record like Odessey & Oracle has never brought the phrase "consummate professional" to mind with me, but after the opening set by the Zombies circa 2015 I was impressed by Colin Blunstone's performance in every detail...and that phrase seemed apropos... The haunting tone which has mesmerized me since I first laid ears on "Time of the Season" as a wee lad - "20 Monster Hits" indeed! - was note perfect in the opening verse of the opening masterpiece single "I Love You" and shifted 2 gears up for the first turnaround "..and I don't know WHAT TO DO!!!". It truly blew me away!! He was never late, early, sharp or flat...unless he meant to be, and he didn't...the very picture of a sweet soul singer in control... and then there's Rod Argent...let's just say the Cap'n runs a tight ship all the while gettin' carried away...by the time band within a band "Argent's" greatest hit "Hold Your Head Up" led to set closer (and very first RECORDING by the band!!!!) "She's Not There" there was no doubt the audience was in for a treat... There were 2 more Zombies to come!!! (to be continued)

Wow. Age isn't holding these energetic icons back.

We saw them here in State College, PA about four years ago and we grabbed our tickets early to see them again last night - just great!!

The concert was SOLD OUT, State Theater was jam packed and the enthusiastic crowd LOVES The Zombies. The standing ovations were out of this world and the three encores were truly appreciated.

The new bass player is a fantastic player - and a terrific harmonist as well. But he really needs to turn down his bass volume, and Steve needs to come down a bit on the drums (or at least the cymbals) as Colin was getting blasted out so he just wasn't heard well enough. That was bugging me through the whole concert.

Also, I think the rhythm section needs to stop fooling around so much with each other and be more professional on stage like Rod, Colin and Tom.

Outside of those criticisms, great stuff! What a night!

I wish them all health, happiness and continued interest and endurance. We love you Zombies - always have!

The Zombies were amazing-as soon as they walked on the stage the fans were up and out of their seats- The first song "I Love You " had us all singing along-Rod talked a little about the band's history and some of it was funny and precious #ColinBlunstone's vocals were fabulous-love the band's harmonies -The Zombies always have fresh new songs on their set list-"Colin sang "Going Out Of My Head" blow me out of my seat and their new album #Stillgotthathunger" is bloody brilliant

Hope the song "New York" becomes a New York tradition..#RodArgent knows the plus of the city we love!!!

Went to the concert in Denver 9/2019. Loved that they started with Tell Her No to set up great anticipation for a great concert night. Only one original member (keyboards) started and finished the show. The lead singer was average, nothing special. Except for She's Not There (4th song) and Time of The Season (ending song), the music was mediocre. The original drummer and basest joined the group after She's Not There.

Overall, concert was okay but loved their 3 big hits.

The Zombies were terrific last night in Massapequa NY!!! Not only did they play the old standards but also songs from a more recent album from about 2 years ago sounded really great and they are working on a new record as well. I learned a little about them, two of the guys formed the group Argent and they played some of their songs too as well as a song Colin did with The Alan Parsons project. It was a great night, nice cool breeze along with some cool music!

This show was INCREDIBLE! Intimate venue, great acoustics.

I have to say Colin and Rod still sound amazing and Rod may be one of the best keyboard players I've ever seen.

They did a great job giving you a short story behind the songs and music and they did an amazing job in wanting to hit every note as they did back in the 60's.

The show was done right and anyone who goes to see it won't be disappointed.

The weather was unexpectedly much colder than I expected, but my heart was warm with having a lifelong dream fulfilled. So happy to see the Zombies perform for the very first time. It was unforgettable. Thanks to the band for continuing their dream and for continuing to please their audiences. I'm grateful they're still alive and thriving, and I pray that continues for many years to come.

THE ZOMBIES

ANNOUNCE 2024 TOUR

& AND A VERY SPECIAL SHOW

@ LONDON’S BARBICAN WITH GUESTS

PAUL WELLER, IRWIN SPARKES

(HOOSIERS), SARAH BROWN & MORE TO BE ANNOUNCED

‘These 60’s legends are proving that it’s still the time of the season’

Rolling Stone UK

“It’s astonishing just how many of their songs are inscribed indelibly in the rock cannon. ‘She’s Not There’ and ‘Time Of The Season’ are just some of the gems in a supple set by musicians heading into their 80s.”   NME.

“The Zombies proved that time really can stand still, their voices unchanged beneath their wispy beards while the crowd uncomplainingly suffered the rain, as fluent in their new songs as in 1964’s She’s Not There ”     Evening Standard.

2023 has been a whirlwind year for  The Zombies . They released a new album, ‘Different Game’, to widespread critical acclaim, curated their first ever home town festival & started the year with an 23 date tour that received stellar reviews for their sold out UK shows. The Summer saw them win back their catalogue and perform at festivals such as Wilderness, Wickham & New Day.

Today  The Zombies announce their 2024 UK    Tour,  Celebrating 60 Years on Tape – from ‘She’s Not There’ to ‘Different Game’,  marking the anniversary of their remarkable and influential recording career. Culminating at London’s Barbican on June 7 th , the band will be joined on stage by an amazing line up of special guests, including  Paul Weller, Irwin Sparkes (Hoosiers)  &  Sarah Brown,  with others to be announced in the new year. Expect plenty of surprises on the night for another first of its kind show for this iconic band, whose career has now spanned over 6 Decades!

The 2024 Tour band members are the current line-up of : Rod Argent (Keys and vocals) Colin Blunstone (Lead Vocals), Steve Rodford (Drums), Tom Toomey (Guitar) & SĂžren Koch (Bass)

The Zombies formed in the historic Cathedral city of St Albans in 1961 with Argent and Blunstone, alongside Chris White (Bass), Paul Atkinson (Guitar) and Hugh Grundy (drums).  Their first single  ‘She’s Not There’  on Decca Records, rocketed to the top of the charts in 1964 on both sides of the pond. They were the second UK band following The Beatles to score a #1 hit in America, infiltrating the airwaves with sophisticated melodies, breathy vocals, choral back-up harmonies and jazzy keyboard riffs. The original line-up disbanded just prior to achieving their greatest success – the worldwide chart-topping single  ‘Time of the Season’,  from their swan-song album ‘ Odessey and Oracle’ , ranked in the Top 100 of  Rolling Stone’s  ‘500 Greatest Albums of All Time.’  To this day, generations of new bands have cited The Zombies’ work as pop touchstones, and the band continues to be embraced by new generations of fans.

Following the break-up of the original band, lead singer Colin Blunstone went on to develop an acclaimed solo career, while Rod Argent (writer, keys, vocals) rocked arenas in the 1970’s with his eponymous band ARGENT, but the legend of The Zombies continued to take on a life of its own.  By the start of the new Millennium, Blunstone and Argent were inspired to resurrect The Zombies, which has led to several critically-acclaimed new albums and 2 decades of worldwide concert performances.  In 2019 the original line-up was inducted into The Rock N Roll Hall of Fame.

Rob Zombie Concert Setlist Info

Rob Zombie has continued to keep fans on the edge of their seats with two completely unique setlists between the two previous runs of the Freaks on Parade Tour . Although his 2022 performances featured mainstay covers of The Beatles (“Helter Skelter”) and Ramones (“Blitzkrieg Bop”), the 2023 successor strictly focused on original material aside from the can’t-miss hits from his White Zombie days, “Thunder Kiss ‘65” and “More Human than Human.”

Elsewhere in 2023, Rob Zombie unearthed deep cuts like “Meet the Creeper” from his 1998 debut Hellbilly Deluxe as well as “Demon Speeding” and “Scum of the Earth” from 2001’s The Sinister Urge . As for the singer’s more recent fare, the 2020 single “The Triumph of King Freak (A Crypt of Preservation and Superstition)” and “Shake Your Ass – Smoke Your Grass” have become electrifying additions to live shows.

Shakira

Shakira did not lie when she announced on social media: “se viene la loba” (the she wolf is coming). The Colombian superstar unveiled the dates to the North American leg of her 2024 Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran tour on Tuesday (April 16), just on the heels of revealing the big news during her surprise stop at Coachella over the weekend.

The tour, in support of her new album of the same name, will kick off Nov. 2 in Palm Desert, California, and wrap on Dec. 15 in Detroit, Michigan. During the 14-arena trek, she will also visit Los Angeles, Miami, and New York City, to name a few. (Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. local time on April 22, here ).

Shakira first shared the news on Friday (April 12) at Coachella, where she was a surprise guest during Bizarrap’s debut performance. Right after performing “La Fuerte” and before singing “Shakira: Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 53” (her two collaborative efforts with the Argentine hitmaker), she said:  “I have to share something today. Biza, I’m going on tour. I’m going on tour, finally
starting here, this November, this year, this city. I can’t wait. Couldn’t ask for more.”

The tour — which marks her first since her 2018 El Dorado World Tour — is in support of her 12th studio album, which debuted at No. 1 on the Top Latin Albums and Latin Pop Albums charts (dated April 6), as well as No. 13 on the all-genre Billboard 200 chart.

As we patiently wait for the fall to come around, Billboard has curated five things we would like to see on Shakira’s new tour.

The Grand Opening

Shakira

If “La Loba se viene” is any indication, it only makes sense that Shakira starts off her concerts performing a bilingual version of “Loba” (“She Wolf”). Her 2009 banger, which entered many Billboard charts, including the Hot 100, Hot Latin Songs and Tropical Songs, is the ultimate dance track perfect to set the mood for the rest of the night. “She Wolf” also represents what Shakira embodies: a woman with strong family values, resilience and strength. Now, if she can arrive singing the song on top of a large wolf on the stage — that’d be extra epic!

The 1990s Medley

Shakira

It’s no surprise that Shakira will perform all of her latest hits live for the first time. We’re expecting to sing and dance to songs such as “Te Felicito,” “MonotonĂa,” “Copa VacĂa,” and “PunterĂa” — all from her Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran album. But we’re also hoping for a ride down memory lane.

We’re specifically crossing fingers for a throwback medley set — where she will perform some of her melancholy rock tunes from the ‘90s. Our dream version of it would include “Ciega, Sordomuda,” “Ojos AsĂ,” “Estoy AquĂ,” “Inevitable,” and “Antologia,” to name a few.

Surprise Guests

Shakira and Cardi B

Now, we know Shakira can dominate the stage and sell out arenas on her own, but it would also be nice to see her bring out some surprise guests. Some we would especially like to see her join the stage are Alejandro Sanz, for an epic performance of “La Tortura” and “Te Lo Agradezco Pero No,” Karol G for the ultra-powerful “TQG,” Cardi B for their flirtatious and feel-good “PunterĂa” — and why not? BeyoncĂ© (“Beautiful Liar”) and/or Rihanna (“Can’t Remember to Forget You”) as well.

Her Talented Offspring

Shakira

Another sweet moment on the tour would be if Shakira invites her talented sons onstage. The two boys first showed off their singing skills on the heartfelt tune “Acróstico” (third single off Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran ), where they collaborated with their mom. Her older son, Milan, has also been spotted on social media performing with his school band, where he plays the drums.

The Grand Finale

Bizarrap, Shakira

And, because Shakira made her tour announcement during Bizarrap’s Coachella set, it only makes sense that she invites him on stage (if possible for the entire tour) to close off the show with their 2023 banger “Shakira: Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 53.” The track peaked at No. 9 on the Hot 100 and landed at No. 2 on both the Billboard Global 200 and the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. charts. It also ruled the Hot Latin Songs chart, scoring Shakira her 12th leader on the tally.

Maynard James Keenan's Sessanta setlist: What A Perfect Circle, Puscifer and Primus played

the zombies tour setlist

Maynard James Keenan made a solid case for turning 60 as the new “you won’t believe what happens next” when the Sessanta Tour hit Talking Stick Resort Amphitheatre in Phoenix on Tuesday, April 16, for a two-night stand, the second night of which falls on his actual 60th birthday.

The premise of the tour is that members of A Perfect Circle, Puscifer and Primus will not only share a stage but also musicians as the night unfolds, resulting in some truly awe-inspiring feats of musical cross-pollination.

Keenan, who launched his career in the ‘90s as the voice of Tool, is the singer for two of those bands, A Perfect Circle and Puscifer. He’s friends with Primus, whose drummer, Tim Alexander, convinced him to give Jerome, Arizona, his home of many years, a look when he was in the market for a new home in the ‘90s.

Luke Combs Teased Fans with a Sneak Peek of His Tour Setlist, and They Have So Many Thoughts

"Fast Car" on repeat!

preview for The Best Country Songs for Every Mood

"So guys, Luke here. We just finished our run through of the set, it's feeling really good. Tour starts next week which is unreal to me," Combs shared with fans on Instagram. "So, I thought I'd give you guys a little sneak peak of one of the nights, not both nights, one of the nights of the set, so you at least know what to expect for Friday's."

"Pause it if you need to," Combs said before revealing a piece of paper featuring the 25-song setlist. If you hadn't figured out already that Combs wasn't really going to share his setlist, then the contents of the list surely gave it away. Songs 1 through 25 on the list were all " Fast Car ." "Check it out, tell me what you think," Combs implored. "See y'all next week!"

An important detail to note about Combs's post is that it was posted on April 1– April Fools Day. With that in mind, it's safe to assume Combs's concert will not be multiple hours of "Fast Car" on repeat, though that wouldn't be the worst thing ever. Fans joined in on the joke in the comments. "Is it too late for me to request Fast car?" and "Can’t believe he’s not doing Fast Car," they joked. "Ok but how can you skip Fast Car?" Dan Smyers of Dan+Shay joined in. Others admitted they initially fell for Luke's April Fools Day prank, "i was so excited for nothing...," one fan admitted.

"Fast Car" has been a fan favorite at Luke Combs's concerts even before he officially recorded it for his Gettin' Old album. When the official cover of Tracy Chapman's song came out, it spent weeks on top of the country charts and playing on the radio. It seems we'll have to wait until the Growing Up and Gettin' Old Tour" kicks off to see what songs will make the cut for the official setlist, but we have a good feeling that "Fast Car" will be one of them!

  • "Waiting a Lifetime"

The new album from Lo Moon , I Wish You Way More Than Luck , takes its title from a somewhat well-known quote by the writer David Foster Wallace. It was said to outgoing graduates, in a commencement speech. It's fitting, because Lo Moon's Matt Lowell returned to his old campus in Connecticut to get inspired by the place he first performed as a musician, Clark Memorial Chapel. It was the spark that put I Wish You Way More Than Luck into action.

In this mini-concert, the psychedelic pop band out of Los Angeles joins World Cafe for a performance recorded in London at The Lexington in 2023. Enjoy.

This episode of World Cafe was produced and edited by Will Loftus. The web story was created by Miguel Perez. Our senior producer is Kimberly Junod. Our engineer is Chris Williams. Our programming and booking coordinator is Chelsea Johnson.

Bruce Springsteen gets a flat tire in Jersey, gets to Mohegan Sun concert on time

Flat notes are rare at Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band concerts.

Nor do flat tires stop the show.

Springsteen posted a pic of himself on his Instagram story sitting next to an SUV with a flat tire in the Keyport area of the Jersey Shore on his way to the E Street Band's Friday, April 12 show at Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, Connecticut.

Springsteen had apparently just started out for Mohegan Sun from his home in Colts Neck. Repairs were made and the Boss, wearing a tie and vest, took the stage on time at 7:45 p.m.

No mention of the unscheduled pit stop was made from the stage. Springsteen and the E Street Band performed a spirited 27 songs over 2 hours and 45 minutes. Tour debuts included “Seeds” and “I'm on Fire.” The gospel-stirred “My City of Ruins” was included, and it's become a statement of mission for the current run of shows, which began March 19 at the Footprint Center in Phoenix. Multiple shows were postponed last S eptember as Springsteen had a bout of peptic ulcer disease.

“We're here tonight to bring the joyous power of rock 'n' roll into your life,” said Springsteen during the “My City of Ruins” intro. “We're here to bring some (blanking) fun. We are here to wake you up and to shake you up and take you up to higher ground!”

The show, the band's first on the East Coast in eight months, was looser and seemingly more improvised than those of last year's tour. The night's first two songs, “Roll of the Dice” and “Lucky Towns,” were appropriate for the show's setting — inside a casino.

More: On Springsteen tour, Asbury Park elegy 'My City of Ruins' takes on new life in San Diego

Springsteen popped a bottle of champagne as he walked on stage, and a pink bra was thrown at him late in the show during “Rosalita (Come Out Tonight).” Steven Van Zandt picked up the bra and put it on the neck of Springsteen's guitar.

The Boss threw it back into the sold-out audience of 10,000 during the build-up of “Rosalita's” final chorus.

“Thank you, you guys are great — you made the whole evening fun! I love Uncasville, wherever the heck it is! As a matter of fact, I'm moving to Uncasville tomorrow,” Springsteen, 74, said at the close of the show.

Friday's show was rescheduled from Sept. 16, 2023. Up next is Monday, April 15 at the MVP Arena in Albany, New York.
