Customer Reviews

Love the honesty and great advice.

I’m always happy to see a new episode in my feed. After 6+ years in the business, it has been so rewarding to hear other professionals approach the ups and downs as pragmatically as I try to do. It is so rare to hear a podcast where there isn’t always a spin on reality to try to make it seem rosier than it is but instead a nitty gritty “here’s how we see it” and “this is where we screwed up” and “this is what has worked best to navigate this”. Thanks to both Katie and Heather.

Rona Listening MUST for TAs!!!

So I’ve gone back and listened from the beginning and especially when the current climate is taken into consideration their honesty and professional sharing is GOLD ! Thanks for being willing to spend valuable time on us it’s truly appreciate by this TA who is revamping her bus and largely riding on TPT advice ! Having both sides in the ladies and their transparency you will not get anywhere else. Highly recommend you pull away from webinars and Netflix and start from episode 1.

Refreshing and on point

I’ve learned a lot from Heather and Katie since they started TPT and the podcast! They offer great info and I love how fun and funny they are! two girlfriends having fun on a podcast but at the the same time teaching us the newcomers how to be professional travel Advisors! I wanted to thank them very much for putting this free resource out there! I always look forward to new episodes! Thank you!

Staff picks for the masters 2024, including favorites and sleepers, share this article.

The opening round of the 2024 Masters is less than 24 hours away. Players are wrapping up their preparation at Augusta National Golf Club, with many participating in the family-fun Par 3 Contest Wednesday afternoon.

Defending champion Jon Rahm is making his first major championship start since leaving the PGA Tour in his rearview mirror and moving on to the Saudi Arabia-backed LIV Golf League. As the Spaniard hopes to go back-to-back, he’ll have to fend off a loaded field that includes 2022 Masters winner and world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler, five-time major winner Brooks Koepka and four-time major winner Rory McIlroy, among others.

Augusta National Golf Club is a par-72 track measuring 7,555 yards .

Before the action gets underway Thursday morning with the opening ceremony featuring Jack Nicklaus, Gary Player and Tom Watson, let’s take a look at who the Golfweek staff is picking to slip on the Green Jacket.

Masters: Tournament hub | Survey: Who’s going to win?

Tim Schmitt, Managing Editor

2023 Masters

Brooks Koepka greets patrons after finishing his second round at the 2023 Masters. (Photo: Rob Schumacher-USA TODAY Network)

Favorite: Brooks Koepka (20/1)

What? Is the staffer from Texas picking against Scottie and Jordan? Look, nobody over the course of the last decade has stepped up in key situations like Koepka. His second-place finish a year ago at Augusta and a victory at Oak Hill showed he can manage the hit, giggle and dance circuit while maintaining a laser focus on the majors.

Sleeper: Will Zalatoris (40/1)

Although he comes into the 2024 Masters with consecutive rough starts at the Players and in Houston, Zalatoris flashed a little of the moxie that made him the PGA Tour Rookie of the Year a few years back in previous starts at the Farmers, Genesis and Arnold Palmer Invitational. And he’s got the game that lines up — in two starts at Augusta, he has a runner-up finish and a T-6.

Todd Kelly, Assistant Managing Editor

2024 Masters Tournament

Brooks Koepka seen on the eighth green during a practice round prior to the 2024 Masters Tournament at Augusta National Golf Club. (Photo: Warren Little/Getty Images)

He was in position a year ago but couldn’t stop the Jon Rahm Express in the final round. Nonetheless, Brooks Koepka showed once again he’s a force to be reckoned with in the majors. He’s also shooting arrows in the theory that the LIV Golf schedule doesn’t prepare guys for major championships. And if you saw his pre-tournament news conference this week, Brooks was Brooks once again. I think he’s going to be dialed in for Augusta National and a Green Jacket will give him a sixth major and a third leg of the career grand slam.

Sleeper: Denny McCarthy (120/1)

Call it recency bias but anyone who can roll the rock like Denny McCarthy is going to perk my ears up. Yes, before his playoff loss just three days ago D Mac’s best finish was a T-22 at the WM Phoenix Open but if we’re looking a darkhorse, why not, let’s ride this pony this week.

Adam Schupak, Senior Writer

2024 Masters

Will Zalatoris hits out of a bunker on No. 16 during a practice round for the 2024 Masters Tournament Augusta National Golf Club. (Photo: Kyle Terada-USA TODAY Network)

Favorite: Will Zalatoris (40/1)

Picking Scottie Scheffler feels like picking UConn to win the March Madness bracket. Well, I was wrong about that – Huskies with the repeat! – and I’m going to double down and pick Will Zalatoris, who seems to have re-found his swing after back surgery and developed a better putting stroke since switching to the broomstick putter. He has been trending, and Augusta National has been a good place for him.

Sleeper: Sahith Theegala (50/1)

Sahith Theegala finished ninth as a rookie and is riding some momentum from three top-10 finishes in his last five Tour starts. His erratic driving won’t punish him too badly at Augusta National and his delicate touch around the greens can be a difference maker. Winning would catapult the likeable Theegala toward stardom.

Beth Ann Nichols, Senior Writer

2024 Masters Tournament

Favorite: Jordan Spieth (25/1)

It’s tough to bet against Scheffler, but it’s also easy to set your eyes on Spieth at the Masters. While recent weeks on the PGA Tour have been feast or famine, the Texan’s love affair with Augusta National puts the odds on a feast this week. Spieth has a staggering six top-four finishes in 10 starts at Augusta, including a 2015 victory.

Sleeper : Russell Henley (55/1)

With three top-four finishes this year on the PGA Tour, including last week in Texas, Henley’s game is trending. Plus, he has plenty of experience at Augusta National, making his eighth appearance this week. The Georgia native took a share of fourth at last year’s Masters, his first top 10 in a major.

Cameron Jourdan, Assistant Editor

travel pro theory

Scottie Scheffler hits out of a bunker on no. 18 during a practice round for the Masters Tournament golf tournament at Augusta National Golf Club. Mandatory Credit: Michael Madrid-USA TODAY Network

Favorite: Scottie Scheffler (9/2)

For some reason, I have a feeling someone is going to add another Green Jacket to their collection. It has been five years since Tiger Woods won his fifth green jacket, and it has been 10 years since Bubba Watson won his second. This year, it’s going to be Scottie Scheffler winning his second Masters. Why? He’s the best golfer on the planet coming back to a place he has excelled at.

Sleeper: Patrick Reed (70/1)

Like I said, this feels like a year that we don’t have a first-time winner of the Masters. And why not Patrick Reed? He finished T-4 last year and always seems to play well at Augusta National. As a past champion, it’s hard to believe his odds are so long, but Reed has three top-10 finishes in the past five years since his win.

Riley Hamel, Assistant Editor

2024 Masters Tournament

Rory McIlroy hits from the No. 11 fairway during a practice round for the 2024 Masters Tournament golf tournament at Augusta National Golf Club. Mandatory Credit: Rob Schumacher-USA TODAY Sports

Favorite: Rory McIlroy (10/1)

If you know me at all, or if you’ve read any of my betting content over the last two-and-a-half years, you knew this was coming. I couldn’t live with myself if this man wasn’t my pick. His iron play was much improved at the Valero Texas Open after a visit with Butch Harmon, resulting in his best finish of the season, a solo third. If that carries over into the weekend, McIlroy will have a chance to complete his career Grand Slam.

Sleeper: Shane Lowry (60/1)

This number for Lowry, the 2019 Open champion, was too good to pass up. Over his last three PGA Tour starts, Lowry has finished T-4 (Cognizant Classic), 3rd (Arnold Palmer Invitational) and T-19 (Players Championship). He has finished inside the top 25 in four straight Masters, highlighted by a tie for third in 2022.

Favorite: Jon Rahm (11/1)

After four-putting the first green at the 2023 Masters, Rahm played his final 71 holes in 14-under.

He won by 4.

The Spaniard proved that he has the heart and composure to conquer Augusta, and don’t be surprised if he slips the jacket on himself Sunday evening.

Sleeper: Ludvig Aberg (30/1)

No first-time participant has donned green since Fuzzy Zoeller in 1979, but Aberg has the game to end the drought.

Aberg isn’t new to the big stage. As a 23-year-old, the Swede posted a 2-2-0 record at the 2023 Ryder Cup.
