Our Main Tour was created from scratch almost 10 years ago, based on the concept of free, tip-based tours around the world and offering a new understanding on walking tours in Yerevan. The itinerary was changed a few times and was perfected during the years. It covers around 20 points of interest in the center of Yerevan, plus detailed info about history, art, cuisine, architecture, cultural and night life, etc. It takes you to the main sites as well as to back alleys and hidden places, telling you stories about our 2805-years- young -city.

As with all free walking tours around the world, it works on  tip ping the guide. The travelers don’t pay up ahead and it’s up to them to appreciate the tour and decide how much to give at the end. They are free to pay as much as they want.

Overview of the tour in Yerevan

We set off to explore, and we begin our walk from beautiful Republic Square through the hidden gems of the city center and up to the strikingly modern Cascades for views of Biblical Mount Ararat. During our walk, we will visit monuments; parks; and restaurants(which only locals know). We will stop for a small break and try local drinks such as local coffee and local tea. We will get acquainted with Armenian History; Architecture; Geopolitics; Economy; Geography; Traditions; Religion History and many more. Furthermore, we will have fun and there will be time to take pictures. At the end of our tour, you will have the best recommendations and know what to do after the tour and where to go to eat the best Armenian food. Looking forward to meeting you soon!

We meet every day at 2 PM Republic Square in front of the History Museum of Armenia / National Gallery (the meeting point is just between the singing fountains and the History Museum). When you are already at Republic Square, please pay attention to the red umbrella written “Free Walking Tour in Yerevan”.

• We usually stop on our way to try sea buckthorn juice, so if you would like to try the juice, please note that 1 cup of juice costs 1,000 AMD (~2$). • Unfortunately, we are not able to invite children(1 - 10 years old) for our tour - thank you for your understanding. Accessibility: 1. The tour is not wheelchair accessible. 2. The tour is not stroller accessible. Health restrictions: 1. Not recommended for pregnant travelers. 2. Are you visiting Yerevan and aren't sure where to start? We've got it covered! On our free walking tour of Yerevan, you'll explore the history and main monuments of Armenia's capital. 

At the indicated time, we'll meet in Republic Square . From here, we'll set off on a walking tour to explore the main monuments in Armenia's capital. Let's go!

To begin, our free walking tour of Yerevan will take us to the Congress of Armenia and the  Vernissage open-air market . Here, we'll see all kinds of Armenian handicrafts, from handbags and dolls to rugs and pottery.

Next, we'll visit the Cultural Genocide Park . This site was constructed in remembrance of the destruction caused by Azerbaijan between 1990 and 2003.

Afterwards, we'll stroll through  Andrei Sakharov Square and visit Abovyan Street , the oldest street in Yerevan. Our tour will then take us to the Opera House . From the outside, we'll admire sculptures of some of Armenia's most famous figures, such as  Hovhannes Tumanya , and discuss some fascinating local history.

The last stop on our free tour will be the Cascade , a colossal fountain full of stairs through which the water flows. After 3.5 hours of touring, we'll say our goodbyes next to the Cascade.

On this free tour, we're unable to accept bookings for more than  6 people . If you're in a larger group, we recommend booking a private tour of Yerevan .
