"Due to the actors’ strike and subsequent changes in Jared’s filming schedule, some of the EU/UK dates of our Seasons World Tour have been rescheduled. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. We can’t wait to see you all on the road very soon.  – THIRTY SECONDS TO MARS"

Leto, the band’s frontman, accomplished a historic feat as he completed the first ever climb of the Empire State Building. Having always been fascinated with the incredible landmark since he was a child, he said “The building is a testament of all the things that can be done in the world if we put our minds to it, which is largely the inspiration behind our most recent album, It’s The End Of The World But It’s A Beautiful Day.” As an avid climber, the Empire State Building and the tour announcement carry the sentiment that anything is possible if we try.

The tour kicks off in Latin America with festival performances at Lollapalooza Chile, Argentina and Brazil along with Estéreo Picnic in Colombia and Tecate Pa’l Norte Festival in Mexico. The band then arrives in Europe for 28 shows in the UK, Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Poland, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Austria, France, Switzerland, Italy, Spain, and Portugal. The show then travels to North America across the 24 shows in major arenas and amphitheaters. Finally, the tour will conclude in Australia and New Zealand with four arena shows.

Multi-platinum selling artist Thirty Seconds to Mars, comprised of brothers Jared and Shannon Leto, makes a triumphant return with their sixth studio album, It’s The End Of The World But It’s A Beautiful Day, released September 15th via Concord Records. The album heralds a new era for the band, one that not only explores the darker sides of the human experience but the hope as well, an arresting reminder that even in the face of seemingly impossible obstacles, there is still beauty to be found in the world. Lead single, “Stuck” officially debuted at #1 on the Alternative radio chart and scored a top 10 hit in Italy, marking the fastest chart climb of the band’s career. Sitting in the top three of the German airplay charts, the tour’s namesake and current single, “Seasons” asks if we can accept change as we move through the many different seasons of life.

Thirty Seconds To Mars announce huge world tour for 2024

Thirty Seconds To Mars have just announced a ton of shows across the globe for next year, in support of new album It’s The End Of The World But It’s A Beautiful Day.

Thirty Seconds To Mars announce huge world tour for 2024

Thirty Seconds To Mars have announced details of an extensive global tour across the UK, Europe, North America, South America, Australia and New Zealand.

In typical eccentric fashion, the announcement was marked by Jared Leto climbing the Empire State Building in New York City. “The building is a testament of all the things that can be done in the world if we put our minds to it," says Jared, "which is largely the inspiration behind our most recent album, It’s The End Of The World But It’s A Beautiful Day.”

The tour kicks off in March next year with a string of festival shows in South America, before heading to the UK for April and May, then on to a summer trek across North America, finally rounding off Down Under in September. Phew!

AFI , Poppy and KennyHoopla will be supporting on the U.S. jaunt, but supports are yet to be revealed for other dates.

Thirty Seconds to Mars reschedule UK tour for June 2024

They cite delays in Jared Leto's filming schedule

Thirty Seconds to Mars have rescheduled their six-date April 2024 UK tour for June.

The April shows in Glasgow, Nottingham, Manchester, Birmingham, Cardiff and London will now take place around six weeks later in early June.

All tickets purchased will be honoured at the rescheduled shows.

Explaining why the dates have been pushed back, Jared and Shannon Leto said: “Due to the SAG-AFTRA Actors’ strike and subsequent delays in Jared’s filming schedule, some of the EU/UK dates of our Seasons World Tour have been rescheduled.

“We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this may cause. We can’t wait to see you all on the road very soon. Thank you for understanding."

Enthusing about what to expect from the show, Thirty Seconds to Mars added: "This tour is a celebration of ALL our fans – whether you discovered us in early 2000s dorm rooms; in the alternative, rock or emo scenes; or on TikTok today.

“We are making sure our setlists will include classic songs we haven’t played in years along with all of the hits from the different SEASONS OF MARS!"

Thirty Seconds to Mars’ sixth studio album ‘It's the End of the World but It's a Beautiful Day’ dented the UK Top 20 when it was released in September 2023.

Thirty Seconds to Mars’ new UK tour dates:

Nottingham Motorpoint Arena – Mon 3rd

London The O2 – Tue 4th

Glasgow OVO Hydro – Thu 6th

Manchester AO Arena – Fri 7th

Birmingham Utilita Arena – Sun 9th

Cardiff Utilita Arena – Mon 10th

23 rock bands named after movies:

Black sabbath.

Previously called Earth (and prior to that The Polka Tulk Blues Band), Black Sabbath named themselves after their own song 'Black Sabbath', which took its moniker from the 1963 horror anthology film of the same name starring the legendary Boris Karloff.

Northern Irish rockers Them, whose timeless anthem 'Gloria' launched Van Morrison's musical career, named themselves after the 1954 science fiction monster movie Them!

White Zombie

In 1985, the then 20-year-old Rob Zombie – born Robert Cummings – named his band after the 1932 horror movie White Zombie starring Bela Lugosi. The highly influential movie is widely considered the first feature length zombie film, and it even inspired Cummings' stage name.

Five Finger Death Punch

After watching Quentin Tarantino's 2004 martial arts classic Kill Bill: Volume 2, the Las Vegas metallers toyed with calling themselves Five Point Palm Exploding Heart Technique in homage to the character Pai Mei's fearsome killing technique. Although fascinated with the concept, former drummer Jeremy Spencer told Michigan Live in 2013: "That didn't sound cool. So, we changed it to Five Finger Death Punch."

Iron Maiden

Iron Maiden bassist and founder Steve Harris came up with the band's name after watching the 1939 movie The Man in the Iron Mask, which featured an iron maiden torture device.

My Bloody Valentine

It's widely reported that the influential Irish shoegaze band are named after the 1981 Canadian slasher film My Bloody Valentine. However, MBV vocalist and guitarist Kevin Shields claims that it was only a few years after they formed that they discovered they shared their moniker with a "really crap terrible Canadian film."

Glenn Danzig named his highly influential horror punk band after Marilyn Monroe's final movie, 1961's The Misfits.

Recent tour reviews

Good show overall. A few problems tho. We paid a lot of money for front row and were irritated Jared "invited" everybody to come down to the front, shoving us back against our seats. We were packed in like sardines with no way to exit. It was unbearably hot anyway (91 degrees and 60% humidity) and I thought I was going to faint. Thank God security saw the situation was becoming dangerous and starting telling people to go back to their own seats. Jared stupidly stopped in mid-song and started berating security personnel for disrupting his show! I know he wants to be the cool anti-hero and all but he needs to think about the safety of his fans before he speaks. If it had gone on there would have been some serious medical emergencies. Besides that, Jared is an entertaining performer even though the show is very predictable from night to night. Had the feel of Jared going through the motions like a finely oiled machine. No encores (as usual). Not as much fan interaction as there used to be back in the day. Jared didn't go into the audience on this night and Shannon seemed painfully uncomfortable when he had to sing. The stage looks really empty with just the two band members left. Three out of five stars. Not one of their better shows. May be time for this band to call it a day. They had a good run.

I saw Thirty Seconds to Mars yesterday at the This is Tomorrow Festival Newcastle Spillers Wilf.

The band had two supporting acts Don Broco whom I predict will be really big in future and the cute band the Marmozets who were interesting to watch live.

After those two taste bud wetting starters on to the delicious main course of Thirty Seconds to Mars; who played a mix of old material like Do or Die complete with Union Jack flag wave and City of Angles as well as a sprinkle of new material from their critic splitting fifth studio album America like Dangerous Night and the inspired Walk on Water.

Overall the band played a great set but some of their Thirty Seconds to Mars elements where missing like the fan favourite ballons due to the festival being outside. Jared and Shannon have just come back to this year Monolith Tour 2018 after taking a 2-week break.

Jared's voice was all stronger for being rested and Shannon easily got back into his drumming grove.

The band played a set of 11 songs overall. The festival was bussing and everyone had a good time. Jared and Shannon included a lot of audience participation in their show and allowed some members of the crowd on stage with them.

By the time the confetti cannons went off to the closing song 'Closer to the Edge', the crowd was roaring for the more and the band was pumped.

All in all it was great show; which allowed new talent to shine and Thirty Seconds to Mars to really get into a lush pumping grove just singing!

Seeing Thirty Seconds To Mars for the first time yesterday was a blast! Thanks to people I knew, I was able to get the full experience! The check in time was ideal because of the length of the meet and greet as well as soundcheck over running slightly. (Which was amazing) The meet and greet felt not too rushed but quick. Only because the time flew by. I’d say we had roughly an hour and a bit with them at the meet and greet. The Q&A was longer than most other concerts and they (Jared and Shannon) also treated us with Pizza!! The photo with the band was very quick but worth it. The hug I got from Shannon was amazing and Jared made a really nice remark to me by saying “Awwww how sweet!” After everyone’s photos were taken, I asked Reni (the head co-ordinator) if I could take a photo with Jamie (one of the people who works with MARS) and she alloud me to go over. Everyone is so nice. The meet and greet was over and the people who had soundcheck was told to go back to the seats where we sat for the M&G. After 5-10 mins they called us over. Managed to get a few cheeky photos and videos during soundcheck and luckily didn’t get caught as they weren’t aloud. I waved at Stevie and he gave me a lovely smile and thumbs up. Soundcheck over ran which was pretty good. Once soundcheck finished, we were given an hour to go get food, go to the toilet and buy merch (which was all optional). Reni told us where to meet and we did. The concert was supposed to start at 8:00pm but MARS were “fashionably late” and didn’t start the show until 9:00pm. All was amazing! Reni asked me and a few others to help throw the balloons into the crowed and warned us that we will get hit by them. And she was right, we did. Jared made us all have a 2 hour cardio work out as there were a lot of jumping involved. When Do or Die was played, Jared told everyone to get on each others shoulders. Even though I was side stage, I climbed onto my cousins shoulders. The downside was that the security told us to get down (probably for health and safety. After a few more songs, one of their new songs called Rider was played, at the end of the song, it looked as if the show has ended. I’d say quite a few hundred people left and a few mins later they started performing again. Loved how they played the full band version of The Kill but sad that Tomo wasn’t there so it didn’t make it all feel right. Finally it came to the last song, Closer to the Edge. Me and the few others who had the Up in The Air package were brought on stage and then the others brought from the crowed joined. It was really really fun. An adult decided to push through and force me to the back which I found really rude considering I was shorter then her and was there first. Another plus was that I watched back the live stream and saw me on there! If you asked other people, their experience would be different. In all honesty, how they act depends on what city they are in and how they are feeling. I’d totally recommend going to a MARS concert. There isn’t anything like it! It’s unique, engaging and down right awesome! It is definitely worth the £2000 in my opinion.

Fresh out of a pandemic, Australia’s 2023 touring calendar was one of the busiest in recent memory, as artists of all stripes took centrestage everywhere from stadium shows to intimate local gigs. With a starry schedule that included the likes of Post Malone , Red Hot Chili Peppers , and Mötley Crüe , it’ll be tricky for 2024’s schedule to outdo its predecessor – and yet, thanks to the likes of Taylor Swift , Blink-182 and Pink , plus Coldplay, Pearl Jam and SZA, it’s poised to do just that.

From debut headline shows for breakout artists to bustling festival sideshow programs, there’s something for everyone to enjoy as a stellar batch of musicians make their way Down Under in 2024. Read on for NME’s roundup of all the biggest concerts and tours coming to Australia this year.

Here are the concerts and tours coming to Australia in 2024:

James Taylor: An Evening with James Taylor & His All-Star Band When: April 12 – April 28 Find tickets and more info here
