Les Miserables of course is a favourite musical of anyone, an absolute classic, but to hear Alfie Boe sing Bring Him Home to a huge theatre full of fans as part of his performance was simply incredible. Boe’s voice is distinctive and one of those goose bump guaranteed voices, and he brought everyone around me to tears before the end of the first verse. Watching Boe perform a variety show blew me away, as he demonstrated the incredible versatility of his voice in one performance, from tenor to bass pieces.

As well as being one of the most talented vocalists I have ever heard perform, Boe is hilarious and great at interacting with his audience. From the start of the concert he was cracking jokes and asking everyone in the audience questions, and although it was a huge theatre, it felt really personal and intimate. Of course all of Boe’s recordings are incredible, but the raw emotion that he injects into his music is something that is massively heightened in live performance and brought a whole new level of comprehension to the songs.

When he performed the duet Come What May, he and Becky were joking before the song started, and they had a little giggle in the introduction and started again. I really liked this comedic aspect, as it demonstrated that the couple were really enjoying the show as well as performing an incredible song.

What can I say! This show was Alfie Boe at his finest. An intimate setting provided superb acoustics for his powerful voice that resonated round the whole room. All the favourites were on the repertoire. Bring Him Home from Les Miserables as always outstanding. Snow Patrol's "Run" absolutely phenomenal and finished with a magnificent a capella performance of Danny Boy, brought the house down

He was his usual humble, humorous, jovial self and took great delight in interacting with the audience. AMAZING SHOW AS ALWAYS.

The chemistry between Alfie and Michael is electric, the banter between them funny, such a great entertainment show including a wide range of songs from different genres, we were thoroughly entertained, would watch it again.

The irresistible duo have taken the classical and pop worlds by storm with their musical theatre medleys, scooping up two UK No. 1 albums and becoming the guilty pleasure in everyone’s record collection. These are, we think, Ball and Boe’s best songs.

He Lives in You

The glorious African choral song was written and performed by Lebo M. and his South African Choir, and is used twice in the musical version of The Lion King – now the most successful stage show of all time. But there’s something in the drama of Ball and Boe’s cover version which just makes you want to leap onto your bed and sing into your hairbrush.

West Side Story Medley

If there’s one thing Ball and Boe have managed to make their calling card, it’s musical medleys. This zealous Bernstein mash-up, which seamlessly moves from ‘Maria’ to ‘Something’s Coming’, ends on a fabulously symphonic version of ‘Tonight’. If this doesn’t leave a smile on your face, surely no medley will.

Les Misérables Medley

Ball and Boe’s reading of Schönberg’s soundtrack is just as you’d expect: big, brassy and plaintive, with excessive emotion aplenty. In all seriousness, Boe’s vocals are genuinely lovely on ‘Bring Him Home’ – sweet, soft and beautifully pure on the high notes.

Bring Me Sunshine

On 1 December 2017, Ball and Boe recorded ‘Bring Me Sunshine’ with a few friends, to raise money for children who are seriously ill at Christmas. The line-up included Bryn Terfel, Mel Giedroyc and the fabulous Imelda Staunton ­– and every penny went to children’s charity Rays of Sunshine. Nice work, lads.

Music of the Night

It’s a big, belting ballad with epic harmonies, and it’s what Ball and Boe do best. Lloyd Webber’s music is the perfect fit for the duo’s voices: Ball has the theatricality, while Boe has the exquisite high notes, making for some top-notch musical storytelling.

Alfie Boe was born September 29, 1973 in Blackpool, Lancashire, and is an English tenor, singer and actor. Alfie’s promising career as a car mechanic began when he was 17, where he would sing opera as he worked prompting his workmates to suggest he move to London and try his luck as a singer, and so he signed up to Royal College of Music, the National Opera Studio and the Royal Opera House's Vilar Young Artists Programme. Alfie Boe made his debut on Broadway as part of Baz Luhrman’s production of La Bohème which won the company a Tony Award. Alfie Boe’s first success came after signing with Classic FM’s label, which set him off on a career on both stage and the charts. Alfie Boe has enjoyed two UK Official Album Chart Number 1s with Michael Ball in 2016 and 2017.

Alfie Boe to embark on summer 2024 UK tour

Alfie Boe will head out on a UK tour in summer 2024 in support of his latest album ‘Open Arms – The Symphonic Songbook’.

Kicking off at the Regent in Ipswich on 30th May, Boe will play 13 shows across the UK, culminating with a very special show at Theatre Royal Drury Lane in London on Monday 17th June.

Boe’s homage to rock, ‘Open Arms – The Symphonic Songbook’ sees the tenor rework versions of rock’s finest tracks such as Bon Jovi’s ‘Livin’ On A Prayer’, Metallica’s ‘Nothing Else Matters’, Bryan Adams’ ‘Summer of ‘69, & many more, into simply spectacular symphonic masterpieces.

A decorated career that’s lasted 30 years, Boe is one of the best-loved vocalists of his generation and a hugely successful, multi-platinum selling artist. He has triumphed on theatre stages and in concert halls around the world and has two recent UK #1 albums under his belt for albums ‘Together’ and ‘Together Again’, made with his great friend Michael Ball. The duo also won two Classic BRIT Awards earlier this year for ‘Best Album’ and ‘Group of the Year’.

Following a celebrated run of sold-out dates across the UK earlier this year,  Alfie Boe  has announced he will head back out on a UK tour in summer 2024. Alfie released his stunning new Top 10 charting album  Open Arms – The Symphonic Songbook in October.

Kicking off at the Regent in Ipswich on May 30th, Alfie will play 13 shows across the UK, culminating with a very special show at Theatre Royal Drury Lane in London on Monday June 17th. General tickets go on-sale Friday December 1st at 10 am HERE .
