What to Wear on a Royal Caribbean Cruise (dress code & outfit photos)

Are you going on a Royal Caribbean cruise and wondering what to wear? Don’t worry, I’ve got your covered!

Since it had been a few years since I’d gone on a Royal Caribbean cruise, I did a lot of research as I packed and planned my cruise outfits for a recent cruise.

In this post I share what to wear on a Royal Caribbean cruise, for days on the pool deck to dinners in the main dinning room. I also answer some questions about how to dress on a Royal Caribbean cruise, including for formal nights.

I’ve also included real photos from the cruise ship and the cruise outfits we wore, to give you some cruise outfit inspiration. However, If you’re a first time cruiser with Royal Caribbean, I hope this can be helpful!

What to Wear on a Royal Caribbean Cruise

Embarkation day.

It’s a good idea to plan what to wear on your cruise embarkation day. You can pick a cute outfit for embarkation day photos, but more importantly, consider your plans for the first day of the cruise.

If you plan on using the pools, hot tubs or waterslides, consider wearing a bathing suit under your clothes.

Something unique on many Royal Caribbean cruise ships, are the activities like the zipline, rock wall and Ultimate Abyss dry slide . If you think you might want to take advantage of all the amazing things to do on your cruise ship on first day of your cruise, make sure to wear comfortable clothing and sneakers or other closed toe shoes.

Don’t forget to pack a cruise carry on bag for embarkation day with all your essentials!

During the day, Royal Caribbean cruise ships are quite relaxed and you can wear casual clothing. Resort wear and swimsuits are perfect for the pool deck. Comfortable, sporty clothing is useful as well for playing mini golf and participating in the variety of onboard activities.

Be sure to pack shorts, tanks tops and t-shirts or light sundresses for sea days if you’re on a warm weather cruise.

Like all major cruise lines, bare feet and pool wear are not permitted in restaurants. Remember to pack a swimsuit cover up for when you go and eat, or for walking inside the cruise ship’s public areas.

Don’t forget flip flops for the pool and sneakers for some of the onboard activities.

Warm Clothing for Ice Skating

Something that many people forget to pack for a cruise , are long pants and a sweatshirt. While these are always good to have for potential cooler weather, this is especially important when going on a Royal Caribbean cruise.

Be sure to pack warmer, comfortable clothing if you sign up for a free ice skating session in Studio B. Even if you don’t plan on going ice skating yourself, you’ll want to pack a light sweater or cover up to see the ice skating show, which is always amazing!

Port Days and Shore Excursions

When planning what to pack for a Royal Caribbean cruise , it’s a good idea to plan your clothing for days in port based on what activity or shore excursion you’re planning in your port of call.

Swimsuits with a cover up are just fine if you’re heading straight to a beach or a catamaran snorkeling excursion. If you’re sightseeing or taking a tour, casual clothing is perfect.

Some important things to pack are comfortable shoes for walking and a light scarf or cover up for shoulders (ladies), if you are entering religious buildings.

Something to be careful of and not wear on a cruise for certain ports, is camouflage clothing. In some Caribbean islands, wearing camouflage clothing is actually illegal and you can be asked to go back to the cruise ship to change or even face a fine.

Tip: Don’t forget to pack a beach bag , your government ID (or any recommended identification), a credit card and some small bills for tips on tours.

Royal Caribbean Dress Code

Royal Caribbean has 3 dress codes in the Main Dining Room for dinner; casual, smart casual and formal attire.

According to the cruise line website, the Royal Caribbean dress code is as follows:

On casual nights nice jeans, polo shirts, casual dresses and nice tops are suggested for the main dining room in the evening. For lunch and breakfast, you can wear shorts, however pool wear is best kept for the Lido deck.

Smart Casual:

Smart casual nights are a bit fancier than the casual dress code. Smart casual attire includes wearing pants and a collared shirt, dresses, skirts and blouses, or pantsuits. Jackets, sports coats and blazers are included in suggested attire.

On formal nights formal wear is welcome. The formal night dress code includes suits and ties, tuxedos, cocktail dresses and evening gowns. Dress pants and a dress shirt are also worn by many men on a cruise .

Remember to pack dress shoes, as well as a shawl and evening bag or clutch.

How Many Formal Nights on Royal Caribbean

To plan your outfits, here are the number of formal nights on Royal Caribbean cruises.There can be 1 to 4 formal nights during a sailing and is at the ship’s discretion. Our Chef’s Table dining experience also enforces a formal dress code policy.

• 3-5 night cruises – 1 formal night (1-4 night cruises may or may not have a formal night)
• 6-7 night cruises – 2 formal nights
• 8-10 night cruises – 2 formal nights
• 11-14 night cruises – 3 formal nights
• 15 + night cruises – 3 or 4 formal nights

Tip: Our own personal experience, and that of many others, is that in practice many cruise passengers are dressing more casually than Royal Caribbean’s official dress code suggests. Keep this in mind as you plan what to wear on your cruise .

Dress Code in Specialty Restaurants

The dinner dress code is applicable in the Main Dining Room and specialty restaurants. The Chef’s Table has a formal dress code.

Windjammer Buffet

If you really want to keep it casual, the Windjammer buffet is a great idea. The food is good and the buffet is self serve.

Make sure to check the opening and closing hours, as the Windjammer is not open 24 hours. Other casual alternative eateries include the Cafe Promenade, Sorrento’s Pizza and room service are all good casual options.

How formal is formal night on a Royal Caribbean Cruise?

You might be asking, how formal is formal night on Royal Caribbean? Royal Caribbean has a formal dress code on 1-3 nights during a cruise, which includes black tie formal wear as a dress suggestion. However, in our experience there is a wide range of clothing that cruise passengers actually wear and most people are not in a tuxedo or long evening gown.

Although Royal Caribbean describes the formal night dress code as night “your best black-tie look”, with suits and ties, tuxedos, cocktail dresses or evening gowns suggested as options, in reality it’s not as formal in practice. Royal Caribbean’s dress codes are loosely enforced, with most cruise passengers dressing less formally than this.

On a Royal Caribbean cruise formal night, you may see a few tuxedos and evening or cocktail gowns. However it’s far more common to see men in suits, or even a nice pair or pants and a dress shirt. Ladies can often be seen wearing a cocktail dress, little black dress, sundress or pants and a top.

Tip: Royal Caribbean’s formal night is a nice occasion for family members to dress up and even take a some photos with the ship’s photographer.

Royal Caribbean Theme Nights

While there is no official dress suggestion for theme nights, it can be fun to bring a few special outfits for the occasion. On our cruise there was a 70’s Night Party, which is pretty common on many Royal Caribbean sailings.

During the daytime, the Royal Caribbean dress code consists of casual attire, with jeans, polo shirts, sundresses, and blouses.. Swimwear is best kept to the pool deck, and shorts are acceptable for breakfast and lunch.

As you transition into the evening, the dress code often shifts to smart casual or formal, depending on the ship’s schedule.

In the ships’ common areas, casual attire is also encouraged. You can opt for t-shirts, tank tops, shorts, skirts, casual dresses, or sundresses. Pair these with comfortable shoes, like sandals or sneakers, so you can comfortably explore the cruise ship.

• Women: Sundresses, skirts, or pants paired with a blouse or stylish top. Don’t be afraid to choose a slightly dressier piece, but remember to keep it comfortable and vacation-friendly. Alternatively, you could opt for a tailored jumpsuit or culotte, which are both stylish and versatile options.

Royal Caribbean’s formal night dress code only applies to the main dining room.

Royal Caribbean’s dress code asks guests to bring their “best black-tie look – suits and ties, tuxedos, cocktail dresses or evening gowns.”

In our experience, the dress code isn’t that strict.

A dress shirt and slacks are a common choice for men, while women often opt for a cocktail dress.

I’ve seen several passengers wear jeans to the main dining room on a formal night. But it’s usually paired with a dress shirt and a blazer.

But any less, you likely won’t be allowed to eat in the main dining room.

Of course, you don’t need to dress up for a formal night. But if you don’t adhere to the dress code, you won’t be allowed to eat in the main dining room.

You can eat at the Windjammer Cafe or specialty restaurants instead.

Here are some tips for what to wear on a Formal Night:

• Men: A black-tie look is appreciated but not mandatory. Aim for a suit and tie or a tuxedo if you prefer. A dress shirt and dress pants are usually acceptable.
• Women: You can wear a cocktail dress, evening gown, or an elegant pantsuit.

What to Wear on Shore Excursions and Port Days

When preparing for your cruise, it’s important to consider the clothing you’ll wear on shore excursions. It is essential to pack appropriate clothing based on the destination and activity.

Since dress codes vary depending on the port or venue visited, reviewing the tour description for specific guidelines is a good idea.

For comfort and convenience during shore excursions, casual, lightweight clothing is recommended. When going on beach outings, you can wear a sundress, romper, shorts, t-shirts, or swimsuit cover-up over your bathing suit.

If you plan to use the pools, hot tubs, or waterslides during your excursion, wearing a bathing suit under your clothes will make it easier to enjoy these activities.

Most importantly, ensure you bring comfortable walking shoes for port days. You’ll be doing a lot more walking than you might anticipate.

Main dining room.

For the main dining room on Royal Caribbean cruises, the dress code depends on the length of your cruise.

Most nights in the main dining room consist of a smart casual dress code. There will be 1-3 formal nights depending on the length of your cruise.

Whether it’s a smart casual or formal night, the following clothing items are not allowed in the main dining room:

• Bathing suits

Specialty Dining Venues

In specialty dining venues, the dress code generally remains smart casual, with slacks, polos, dresses, and blouses being appropriate.

However, some specialty restaurants might enforce a more formal dress code, so it’s advised to review the specific dining venue’s guidelines before making a reservation. Remember that casual shoes are acceptable, but flip-flops, beachwear, and bare feet are not.

The dress code in specialty restaurants remains the same on formal nights. So if you don’t plan to bring formal wear, a specialty restaurant is a good alternative.

Windjammer Buffet

The Windjammer buffet has a casual dress code at all times of the day. It is a perfect dining option for those who want to dine without stressing about formal clothing.

Jeans, polos, casual dresses, rompers, and other laid-back attire are appropriate here. Shoes must be worn, and swimwear is not allowed, so cover up appropriately when dining.

How Strict Is Royal Caribbean’s Dress Code?

In our experience, Royal Caribbean’s dress code is not that strict. It’s more a suggestion than a hard rule, but you should follow the general spirit of the dress code to avoid issues entering the main dining room.

When I first sailed on Royal Caribbean in 2007, crew members strictly enforced the dress code.

I remember my dad getting denied entry to the main dining room because of the shorts he was wearing. Then again, the next day, because of his sandals.

On my last few Royal Caribbean cruises, I’ve noticed many passengers skirting the lines of the dress code.

You shouldn’t expect to wear shorts in the main dining room on a formal night. But there is a little give in the rules.

Packing for Embarkation Day

Ensure you pack a change of clothes or bathing suit in your carry-on bag during embarkation day. You may not have access to your luggage for several hours.

Packing a change of clothes in your carry-on means you can take a swim in the pool or change your clothes before dinner.

Royal Caribbean does have “Formal nights” but the dress code is only upheld in the main dining rooms. There are plenty of other places to eat, so there is no need for you to ever dress up if you don’t want to.

The dress code for dinner on a Royal Caribbean cruise is either casual or formal depending on which night of the cruise it is. Guests will be told in advance about the dress codes that are in place. 

There are no specific daytime dress codes on Royal Caribbean cruises.

There isn’t a specific daytime dress code onboard Royal Caribbean cruises. Cruisers are able to wear whatever they feel comfortable in. Shorts, jeans, and casual tops are all acceptable.

This is pretty standard within the cruising industry, even the cruise lines with the strictest evening dress codes do not have dress codes during the day.

Royal Caribbean cruises do have a few restrictions such as: – Guests must be wearing shoes at all times. – Guests cannot wear swimming costumes/bathing suits around the ship.

Some cruise lines do have rules about not having any fancy dress/costume dress onboard – but Royal Caribbean doesn’t have this rule. Note: If you were wearing a t-shirt with an offensive slogan you probably would be asked to get changed – but that is about it.

What Should Men and Women Wear on Royal Caribbean’s Formal Nights?

Men: The minimum requirement for men on formal nights is that men should wear a collared shirt and smart trousers. A tie isn’t necessary. Jeans/trainers would not be allowed on formal nights. Chinos would be acceptable as long as they are smart.

Women: Any smart dress or trousers/blouse combination would be acceptable. Don’t worry particularly about the length if you do decide to wear a dress or skirt. As long as the dress/skirt isn’t particularly short it would be acceptable. It isn’t a requirement to wear a full-length gown although many do.

White Nights

On my most recent cruise on Symphony of the Seas, they held a “White Night.” It was up to you if you wanted to take part or not. Probably about half of the passengers on board were dressed in white for the evening.

Many other cruise lines also have White Nights – Azamara and Celebrity come to mind. I usually pack a white dress “just in case.”

Royal Caribbean cruises between 3-5 nights have 1 formal night. Cruises 6-13 nights have 2 formal nights, and Royal Caribbean cruises over 14 nights have 3 formal nights.

• Cruises Between 3-5 Nights: 1 Formal Night

If you are cruising for 3-5 nights you’ll usually find the formal night on night two. Cruise lines very rarely have formal nights on the first night because not all guests will have their suitcases. When embarking on a cruise you’ll give your luggage to a porter and it’ll arrive later in your room. You usually have your suitcase within a couple of hours but on occasion may have to wait until early evening.

You could probably get away with wearing a polo shirt on a smart casual night or a plain T-shirt with a nice blazer or jacket. As long as you are looking clean, presentable and like you’ve made a little bit of effort you’ll be fine.

Women:   Any dress/skirt or trousers/blouse combination would be suitable. I do always find it’s easier to dress to the dress code as a woman, it’s easy to dress up a simple outfit with jewellery or shoes. If you were wearing smart, dark-coloured jeans I think that this would be okay. Blue jeans probably would look out of place but a nice pair of black skinny jeans paired with boots or heels would be perfect!

How Many Smart Casual Nights Are There on a Royal Caribbean Cruise?

On a Royal Caribbean cruise of between 3-4 nights, there are no smart casual nights. Cruises between 5-7 nights usually have 1 smart casual night. Cruises 8-13 nights in length usually have 2 smart casual nights with cruises over 14 nights having 3.

The maximum number of smart casual nights on any cruise is 3. Some short cruises won’t have any smart casual nights at all. If you are cruising on a cruise that is 3 or 4 nights in length you will just have one formal night and the rest will be casual.

Cruises Between 3-4 Nights: 0 Smart Casual Nights

Cruises between 5-7 nights: 1 smart casual night, cruises over 8-13 nights: 2 smart casual nights , cruises over 14+ nights: 3 smart casual nights .

Royal Caribbean doesn’t advertise before the day when the smart casual dress code will be in place. It is relatively easy to switch between casual and smart casual – so I don’t think this is a problem. You used to have a ‘cruise compass’ delivered to your cabin every evening. This is a little leaflet which will tell you everything that is going on the next day, the dress code for the next night will be included in the cruise compass.

Royal Caribbean no longer seem to do this as a matter of course on many ships. You can ask your room steward if you want a paper cruise compass, but most cruises now expect you to access all the information you need via the cruise line’s App.

Royal Caribbean’s Evening Dress Code – Casual Nights

Casual nights are the most relaxed nights that you’ll find on any Royal Caribbean cruise. That said, there are still some things that you cannot wear. The first night of every cruise will be a casual night.

Royal Caribbean’s Casual Night Dress Codes

The dress code for casual nights is as below:

You’re on vacation – relax! Jeans, polos, sundresses and blouses are all the right amount of laid back. Please keep swimwear to the Pool Deck. Shorts are welcomed for breakfast and lunch. Royal Caribbean International

At dinner, in the main dining room on a casual night, you cannot wear the following:

The last night of your cruise is also almost always a casual night. This is because guests have usually packed at this point and it is much easier to wear casual clothes.

On the last night of your cruise, you will leave your suitcase outside of your cabin in the corridor. This will be taken away by the crew and the next time you see it will be on land when you disembark.

Make sure you leave some clothes out to wear for the day you disembark! I have a specially designed disembarkation day T-shirt, so I never have to worry about what to wear on that last day.

Royal Caribbean Dress Codes For Children

Children are expected to adhere to the dress codes – although I doubt very much that they would be challenged unless they were wearing something really scruffy. Teenagers would be expected to dress in accordance with the dress codes.

For boys: Generally speaking, boys would probably be fine to wear a polo shirt and chinos on formal/smart casual nights. This, of course, does depend on the age of the child but if the child in question is under the age of 10 or so this would be fine.

For girls:  Any dress/skirt or smart trousers/top would be fine. The main thing is to look presentable and like an effort has been made.

Some families love the opportunity to dress up and I’ve seen small children wearing full tuxedos and bow ties – which is adorable. On casual nights anything goes for children.

What Are The Dress Codes in Royal Caribbean’s Speciality Dining Restaurants?

Most of Royal Caribbean’s speciality dining restaurants do not have strict dress codes.

They will often not adopt the ‘formal night’ dress code even on formal nights – which means that they can provide a great alternative for those not wanting to dress up for dinner.

Many people do of course dress up to go to dinner at the specialty restaurants though. Guests will often book a speciality restaurant for a special occasion like a birthday or anniversary.

Is The Dress Code Ship Wide on Royal Caribbean Cruises?

The dress code on Royal Caribbean cruises is only applied to the main dining room. Guests not wanting to take part in the dress codes are able to dine elsewhere. On some other cruise lines, for example, Cunard, the dress codes will apply ship-wide but this isn’t the case with Royal Caribbean.

Is The Dress Code on Royal Caribbean Cruises Enforced?

Only 4% of Royal Caribbean cruisers answered yes when asked if they felt that Royal Caribbean’s dress codes were enforced.

The dress codes onboard have become more relaxed in recent years and the degree of enforcement has decreased.

If you were wearing something completely ridiculous you might be turned away – but I’ve never seen anybody be turned away from a restaurant – or heard any stories of anybody having to go away and change.

I decided to ask the Royal Caribbean Cruises Facebook group this very question, the group has over 110k members. I think the data below speaks for itself.

A whopping 200 answered ‘no’ with only ’12’ answering yes! 63 people just answered with ‘who cares’ which suggests to me that the dress codes aren’t really respected.

Other Dress Codes on Royal Caribbean Cruises:

Is there a dress code for ice skating on a royal caribbean cruise.

When ice skating on a Royal Caribbean cruise all guests must wear long trousers/pants and socks. This dress code is strictly enforced for safety reasons.

If you don’t have both of these you will not be allowed to skate.

I actually have never been ice skating on a Royal Caribbean cruise although I did see two ice shows on the Symphony of the Seas, they were INCREDIBLE.

Royal Caribbean Excursion Dress Codes

The dress code for excursions may vary depending on what the excursion involves. You will be told if there is a specific dress code at the time of booking. You may be required to wear certain things like comfortable shoes/coats/jackets if your excursion is in any way physical.

Do You HAVE To Dress Up On a Royal Caribbean Cruise?

Guests don’t have to dress up at any point on a Royal Caribbean cruise if they don’t want to.

Royal Caribbean does have formal and smart casual nights where there is a dress code in the main dining room but cruisers are able to eat in the buffet or other dining venues without adhering to the dress code.

Whether you’re wondering what to wear for formal nights , the main dining room or just generally around the ship, read on to find out what to pack and what you can leave behind.

The Royal Caribbean dress code is relatively relaxed. While there are formal and smart casual attire guidelines in the main dining rooms, these are not strictly enforced around the ship.

Most venues on the ship offer a more laid-back dress code, allowing guests to choose from a range of dining options if they prefer not to dress up. Overall, the emphasis is on guest comfort while maintaining a sense of occasion where appropriate.

Formal Night Dress Code

Formal nights on a Royal Caribbean cruise are a chance to get a bit dressed up, although the guidelines aren’t too strict. For men, wearing a collared shirt and smart trousers will suffice. Women can choose from a range of options like dresses or a smart blouse and trouser combination. Main Dining Room Dress Code

The dress code in the main dining room varies according to the night’s theme, be it casual, smart casual, or formal. On casual nights, it’s important to note that shorts, tank tops, swimwear, and flip-flops are not permissible attire for dinner. The final night of the cruise is often a casual night, accommodating guests who’ve likely started packing away their more formal clothing.

While formal and smart casual nights do have specific dress codes in the main dining room, guests who prefer a more relaxed atmosphere have the option to dine in other venues, like the buffet, where the dress code is more lenient.

Smart Casual Dress Code

On smart casual nights, the attire falls somewhere between the laid-back vibe of casual nights and the elevated elegance of formal nights. While you don’t have to pull out your tuxedo or evening gown, a collared shirt for men and a dress, blouse, and skirt or trousers for women are good choices. If you’re a fan of jeans, opting for a smart, dark-coloured pair is perfectly acceptable.

The timing of smart casual nights isn’t disclosed in advance, but you can easily find out on the Royal Caribbean app or the paper ‘Cruise Compass’ provided. If you’re on a short 3-4 night cruise, you generally won’t encounter a smart casual night. For cruises lasting 5-7 nights, expect one smart casual night, and anticipate two on cruises of 8-13 nights. 

Any cruise over 14 nights will typically feature up to three smart casual nights. The flexibility of the dress code means you can transition effortlessly from one style to another, depending on the night’s theme.

Theme Night

If you’re on a Royal Caribbean cruise that lasts four nights or more, you might enjoy theme nights. These special nights make the trip more fun and let everyone dress up and participate in activities based on a certain theme.

Theme nights are just special evenings where the entertainment is built around a fun theme. You might get to enjoy an evening where everyone wears black and white or maybe a night where everyone dresses up like it’s the 1980s.

You won’t know about the theme nights until you’re actually on the ship. But once you’re on board, you can check the Cruise Compass. This is a daily guide that will tell you all about what’s happening, including any theme nights.

The themes can vary, but some you might see are:

• Black and White Night : Everyone dresses in black and white.
• Decades Night : Pick a decade, like the ’50s or ’80s and dress the part.
• Country Western : Think cowboy boots and country music.
• Masquerade Ball : A fancy evening where you can wear a mask.
• Toga Parties : A fun night where you can wear a toga.

On one of my cruises, we had a Hawaiian night. We didn’t know about it before we left, but luckily we had some suitable clothes packed, just in case. 

It’s a good idea to pack some clothes that you can easily adapt for a theme night. That way, you’re ready to join in, whatever the theme turns out to be. However, if it’s not your thing, there is no expectation to join in.

Packing a versatile range of clothing that can be adapted to fit a theme at short notice is a good idea. That way, you’ll be ready to join in the fun, no matter what the Cruise Compass has in store for you.

Casual Dress Code

Under the casual dress code on Royal Caribbean cruises, the atmosphere is laid-back and easygoing during the day. You’re welcome to wear whatever you find comfortable, be it shorts, jeans, or casual tops.

However, a couple of guidelines are in place for everyone’s comfort and safety. Shoes should be worn at all times, and while swimwear is the go-to choice for the pool deck, it’s not suitable for other areas of the ship. Just adhere to these simple rules, and you’ll be all set to enjoy your day.

Pool Deck Dress Code

When it comes to the pool deck dress code on Royal Caribbean cruises, the focus is on casual and comfortable. Swimwear is encouraged for swimming or sunbathing on the pool deck, but it’s not suitable for other parts of the ship. In addition to your swimwear, you can wear shorts, t-shirts, and flip-flops to stay cool in the sun. 

If you plan to venture away from the pool deck, such as the Windjammer Buffet, make sure to change into more appropriate clothing. If you turn up just to grab a quick bite to eat in swimwear, with a towel wrapped around you, you will be turned away. Make sure you put on some clothes to cover up.

So, do you really need to pack a suitcase full of ball gowns and tuxedos for a Royal Caribbean cruise? As you’ve seen, the answer is a clear ‘no’. The dress code on Royal Caribbean cruises is more about making sure you’re comfortable while still giving you the chance to spruce up if you wish.

1. Boarding the ship

Keep in mind when you first board the ship, you will not have your luggage with you. It will be dropped off at your stateroom, but this could take hours. Because you will not have your bags right away, bring a swimsuit, sunscreen, or proper dinner attire in your carry-on bag. You will want to start having fun as soon as you get on the ship, and you wouldn’t want the wrong attire to slow you down!

2. Making the most of excursions

These days, excursions details will typically include what type of attire is needed for the trip. It could range from bathing suits and sneakers to heavy jackets and gloves, depending on which part of the world you are traveling. • Formal:  Make it a night out in your best black-tie look – suits and ties, tuxedos, cocktail dresses or evening gowns. There can be 1-3 formal nights during a sailing and is at the ship’s discretion.

Formal nights:

• 3/4/5 night cruises - usually on Day 2
• 6 night cruises - usually on day 2 and 5
• 7 night cruises - are usually on Day 2 and 6
• Oasis and Allure use Day 2 and 5 on Western itineraries and Day 2 and 6 on Eastern itineraries.

Caribbean cruise line reroutes ships, cancels stop at island port due to violence, turmoil

Royal Caribbean International has canceled stops at its private beach in Haiti through September as a result of the violence plaguing the island nation, a private fan blog, citing messages to travelers, reports. AP

MIAMI – Royal Caribbean has cancelled stops at its private port of Labadee through the summer because of simmering violence in Haiti.

In March, the cruise line canceled stops at the private beach area through May, but this week Royal Caribbean reworked cruise schedules through the summer and into September, a post on the Royal Caribbean Blog said.

“Guests booked on cruises in the summer and early fall are getting notifications from Royal Caribbean that their visits to Labadee have been canceled,” the blog said. “On Tuesday (April 23), cruisers began to share updates they received from Royal Caribbean that their itineraries have been updated to drop Labadee and replace it with another port or a sea day.”

Labadee is a beach area on a peninsula in northern Haiti near Cap-Haitien used exclusively by Royal Caribbean. The cruise line has its own security force at the site, which is walled off from the rest of the country.

The 260-acre site has been leased by Royal Caribbean since the 1980s. It is about a six-hour drive from Haiti’s capital, Port-au-Prince, and thus far has not seen any incidents of violence, the blog said.

More than 2,500 people were killed or injured in gang violence from January to March across Haiti, a more than 50% increase from the same period last year, according to a report Friday by the United Nations Integrated Office in Haiti. The vast majority of violence is in Port-au-Prince .

Cap-Haitien, Haiti’s former capital, has been spared much of the violence and is going through a bit of a resurgence, The Associated Press said . Business owners, anxious parents and even historic state ceremonies have been relocating there, and that began even before gangs started attacking key government infrastructure in Port-au-Prince in late February.

Royal Caribbean International had no formal announcements of the changes posted to its website. Royal Caribbean Blog is an unofficial site for fans of the cruise line and is not affiliated with Royal Caribbean International.

But it cited chatter and messages from cruise ticket holders about changes to their itinerary that showed stops at Labadee were being canceled and replaced with either an extra day of cruising at sea or stops in alternate ports.

A notice from the cruise line, reposted on the blog, informed guests about the change in travel plans, without explicitly mentioning the violence.

I went on my first cruise — here are 15 things that surprised me the most about this type of travel

I took my first cruise on one of the largest ships, Royal Caribbean's Wonder of the Seas.

My seven-night trip was full of surprises, from the size of my room to the quality of the food.

The port stops were shorter than I expected, and I found myself getting lost on the giant ship.

Before April 2022, I had never seen a cruise ship in real life.

Prior to becoming a travel reporter, my trips had been mostly about visiting family in faraway places and budget road trips across the US , where I stayed in campsites, parking lots, and cheap Airbnbs .

I'd traveled by car, bus, train, and plane, but boats of any kind were completely new to me.

That changed two years ago, when I took my first cruise on one of the world's largest cruise ships , Royal Caribbean's Wonder of the Seas .

During my seven-night Caribbean voyage, the ship sailed round-trip from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, to Roatán, Honduras; Cozumel and Costa Maya in Mexico; and Royal Caribbean's private island in the Bahamas .

While I'd seen cruise ships on TV and in movies, I couldn't understand how big these vessels were until I saw one myself. On board, I felt like I was in a small town in the middle of the ocean.

Since this was a new form of transportation for me, I experienced a lot of surprises. I learned that cruising is a lifestyle in itself, and while it's not necessarily for me, I can see what draws people to this type of vacation time and again.

For $2,000, I spent seven nights in an ocean-view stateroom on deck 8. The cruise was on sale, as it was originally priced at $3,000.

The ship has 2,867 staterooms, according to Royal Caribbean .

I booked a midtier room — a step above interior staterooms with no windows, a step below staterooms with a balcony, and two steps below a suite.

My 179-square-foot cabin had a private bathroom, a king-size bed, and an ocean view.

I was surprised by how big the sale was with such a big discount. To me, $1,000 feels like a huge difference in price for the same vacation.

Since the room was only 179 square feet, I thought I'd feel cramped. But when I stepped inside, I was surprised at how big it felt.

I thought the stateroom made great use of a small space with plenty of storage for my clothes and other belongings. There were two closets for hanging space and more drawers than I ended up using.

An attendant serviced my room twice a day — more than I've experienced at hotels or in Airbnbs.

After leaving to start my day each morning, a stateroom attendant cleaned my room. And after I left for dinner each night, they came back to clean up again. Every evening, they brought me fresh towels — sometimes creatively folded — and a flyer featuring the next day's schedule on the ship with the weather, dress code , and any other important information, such as a time change.

This surprised me because I am used to having my room serviced once daily, if at all, during my hotel stays, and never in Airbnbs.

I assumed I'd have a small porthole window like I've seen on ships in TV shows and movies. But my rectangular window was much bigger than I expected.

An electronic shade over the window could be brought down during the day to reveal some grand views. I loved waking up after a night at sea to a front-row view of the place I'd be visiting that day.

While windowless rooms are cheaper, I couldn't imagine staying in a room without one. My oceanview stateroom cost about $300 more than an entry-level room.

My room was located at the front of the ship, and I didn't expect to feel as much movement in my cabin as I did. Later, I learned that the location of your stateroom can impact this greatly.

I booked a stateroom at the very front of deck eight, and I felt constant motion in my room.

Some nights were rockier than others. On the roughest nights, I heard and felt a similar sensation to thunder beneath me every few minutes. Loud thumps and heavy vibrations in my room sounded like large pieces of furniture falling down. The first night this happened, I feared the worst, but over time, I realized that this was a normal aspect of cruising — but one I would likely never get used to.

After talking to seasoned cruisers on the ship, several told me that the front of the ship is one of the worst places to be for feeling motion. Higher decks in the middle of the ship feel calmer and more stable, they said.

Next time, I'd choose a room in the middle of the ship.

All cruises mandate a training session for guests on what to do in an emergency. But I was surprised that mine was available to watch on-demand in my cabin.

All I had to do for safety training was watch a couple of videos — either on my room TV or on the Royal Caribbean app — and then check into my assembly station: the area that I was assigned to go to in case of an emergency. At the assembly station, an attendant checked via the Royal Caribbean app that I had completed the mandatory training.

I was expecting to attend a large safety training session once I got on the ship, so this alternative was a breeze.

The ship has 24 elevators, but taking the stairs was often faster.

Since there were so many elevators on the ship, I expected them to be a pretty efficient way to get around. But they were often so crowded and slow that I ended up taking the stairs instead. By the middle of my trip, unless I was going all the way up to the pool decks, I always opted for the stairs to save time.

The ship was harder to navigate than I expected, and I often got lost on my way to specific venues.

The ship has 16 guest decks; each deck is divided into three sections — forward, middle, and aft.

It took me a few days to get used to the sections, and I often found myself heading to the right deck but the wrong section of the ship. Luckily, there were maps on every floor, which I used until the morning I left.

In the communal indoor spaces, I didn't even feel like I was on a ship, which was unexpected.

If I woke up on deck five of Wonder of the Seas with no memory of my cruise, I'd think I was in a shopping mall.

Aside from the slight movement of the ship, the indoor decks were so big that, as a cruise newbie, it was hard to believe that I was on a gigantic boat in the middle of the ocean. Everywhere I looked, I saw shops, stands, restaurants, large sculptures, and a unique ceiling structure that reminded me of the malls I've visited.

Throughout the trip, I heard more live music than I thought I would, often in the background of the ship's activities.

Aside from music festivals , I've never heard more live music on a trip than I did on this cruise. On the communal decks, musicians played for hours while people relaxed and played around them. I was also surprised by the eclectic mix of genres I heard, from rock to jazz to classical.

In addition to the music hall, where concerts were regularly held, live bands performed on indoor and outdoor communal decks, while some people watched and others listened while swimming, relaxing, or walking around.

I thought formal nights would be enforced more.

I like to be comfy, so I was dreading formal nights going into this cruise.

I brought one fancy dress with me to wear anytime I needed, but I learned after the first formal night, that the dress code wasn't strictly enforced. People wore a range of outfits, from evening gowns to t-shirts.

For the rest of the trip, I relaxed my interpretation of the dress code, too.

Some of the best meals I had were included in the rate.

One of the unique things about cruising is that most meals, snacks, and drinks are all-inclusive as part of the cruise rate.

However, on large ships like Wonder of the Seas, more than a dozen restaurants with specialty offerings like sushi are not included, and incur additional charges, either as a one-time fee or by the dish.

However, I was pleasantly surprised to find that some of the most delicious and satisfying meals I had were in the restaurants that were included for guests. There were a handful of buffets with all different types of food, and the main dining room served a three-course meal with varying menu items each night. These complimentary options satisfied every single one of my cravings. One of the best meals I had was in the main dining room, where I was seated alone.

I found that reservations for restaurants and shows on the ship fill up fast, so it's important to plan ahead to do exactly what you want.

The cruise ship was full of activities and restaurants that I could go to any time, but some restaurants, like the specialty ones, and all the shows on board, required reservations that I made through the Royal Caribbean app.

However, I found that getting reservations for the show and meal times I wanted on the day of was often hard. So, I started making reservations days before each event, depending on its popularity.

For example, the circus-like acrobatic water show in the Aquatheater seemed to be the most popular and hardest reservation to get. I tried to get one on the day of the event but couldn't find any availability until a show two nights later.

But even with extensive preparations, planning anything on a cruise ship was subject to change.

The excursion I was most thrilled about —  a hot air balloon ride over the Bahamas — was canceled the day of because the winds were too high.

It was on the last day of my trip, and with only one day in port, it could not be rescheduled. It was the experience I was looking forward to most, so I was disappointed and didn't realize this was a possibility going into the trip. On a cruise ship, I learned that all plans are subject to change based on things outside the crew's control, like the weather.

I thought the port stops would be longer.

Since we traveled such a long way to each port, I wrongfully assumed we'd spend more time in them. The ship usually docked in the morning, around 8 a.m., and left in the early afternoon.

I thought I'd have time to explore the port for a while after each excursion, but some of my excursions took the entire day, getting me back to the boat just in time for departure. I was also hoping to see what these places looked like at night, but we never departed after sundown.

Although I got a taste of the Caribbean, I felt like I didn't have enough time to get a sense of each place, which made me realize that I would probably prefer to vacation in just one place and have time to truly explore it.

I'm so glad that I finally know what it's like to cruise on a giant ship, but next time, I'll probably take a plane.

Overall, my trip left me in awe. I learned there's nothing like looking out from the top deck and seeing only the ocean surrounding you.

But next time I want to visit the Caribbean, I'll take a plane to one place and explore it deeply.

Royal Caribbean’s My Time Dining: Everything you need to know

Royal Caribbean offers its cruise guests a choice of either traditional dining with set times and assigned tables or a more flexible plan called My Time Dining. If you’ve never cruised with Royal Caribbean or tried My Time Dining, you may wonder if this option is right for you and your travel group.

We’ve previously covered the broad definitions of traditional versus flexible dining options across the mainstream lines, but let’s get down to specifics of what to expect with Royal Caribbean’s My Time Dining plan.

Royal Caribbean’s My Time Dining: The basics

My Time Dining frees you from a set dinner time and assigned table and tablemates in the main dining room. Some Royal Caribbean ships have multiple main dining rooms; others have one main dining room with multiple floors. You will be assigned to a specific dining space dedicated to serving passengers on the flexible plan. It will be noted on your Sea Pass cruise card.

Beyond the designated venue, nothing else is assigned. You make the choice of when to eat each day within the serving hours assigned to My Time Dining rooms. The most common My Time Dining hours are from 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Those hours (particularly the start time) may vary depending on the ship and the itinerary, but you can always find the details in the Royal Caribbean app, on the dining room information in your cabin’s interactive TV or in the daily Cruise Compass news bulletin.

For example, you can dine at 6 p.m. one night and 8:30 p.m. the next if that works best with your schedule. You can also skip the main dining room and dine at the buffet or a specialty restaurant.

Your dining choice is made during the booking process. If you book your cruise online, you’ll want to watch for the dining option question. If you book through a travel advisor, make sure they know your preference. The alternative is to allow the cruise line to choose for you, and it’s not always easy to change your dinner time.

Pro tip : The bigger the ship, the more complicated it becomes to make dining changes once you are on board because the cruise staff is working to satisfy more people.

It all sounds simple enough, right? Make your choice during booking, then show up at the correct dining room each night whenever you are hungry. However, the details can get tricky. Here are the most common questions asked online about My Time Dining, as well as the answers.

Where can I eat when I choose My Time Dining?

You are free to eat in any food venue on the ship (during its hours of operation) for breakfast, lunch and snacks. For dinner, you may eat in the dining room assigned to you, the buffet and other casual eateries, or a specialty restaurant (though you’ll likely need to make reservations ahead of time).

Are the menus the same for early and late diners as they are for My Time Dining?

Yes. The main dining room menus for traditional and My Time Dining groups are the same each night.

Do I need to tell the maitre d’ or waiter I’m not coming to dinner some nights?

You do not need to let the dining staff know unless you have made reservations for a table in your assigned dining room. Then it’s appropriate to cancel the reservation.

Do I need to make reservations?

Reservations are not required for My Time Dining on Royal Caribbean, but they are strongly recommended. If you make reservations, you will have a separate, faster-moving line at the entrance to the dining room. Some guests may prefer to eat at the same time every evening. Others may want to reserve dinner times based on their activity schedule or dine elsewhere some nights based on the menu.

Pro tip: You can preview menus in the Royal Caribbean app, but they won’t appear until your sailing dates are close. You can, however, see any ship’s current menu plus about a month’s worth of sailings – even if you don’t have a cruise booked.

Here’s how:

• After you log into your account on the app, you’ll either see your next booked cruise or a screen that reads, “Let’s look up your cruise.”  
• Choose the “Browse our ships” option at the bottom of the screen.
• Pick your ship, then pick any of the dates shown.
• From there, you can look at dining options and menus for that sail date.

If your cruise is booked too far in advance to see menus, swipe left on the home screen to see your profile and choose “Select a different cruise” to view upcoming dates. The current dates should always have menus, but they might not match what is served on your cruise.

How and when do I make reservations for My Time Dining?

You can make reservations pre-cruise in the online cruise planner as soon as you pay the deposit for your cruise. Once you board the ship, you can manage your reservations in the Royal Caribbean app. You can also make or check reservations in person at the dining room entrance during embarkation.

Star Class suite guests can have their Royal Genie make reservations for them. Suite guests in Grand Suites and above can also request reservations through the suite concierge in the suite lounge on ships that have those.

How long will I wait to be seated if I show up without a reservation?

Think of it like any popular land-based restaurant. Show up at a peak time without a reservation – or with a large group — and your wait will be longer. I’ve heard of wait times as long as an hour — often on the first night of the cruise while everyone adjusts. If you only make one main dining room reservation, make it for the first night you plan to eat there. You’d be amazed by how much that will smooth out the wrinkles in the process.

You may be able to speed up the wait time by agreeing to share a table with others instead of insisting on a table only for your group. The maitre d’ may also suggest you return at an appointed time if the wait is exceptionally long (essentially making an impromptu reservation for you). Royal Caribbean has used pagers in the past, and some ships in the fleet may still use them occasionally to notify guests when their table is ready. However, it is not a common practice.

Can I change to a traditional early or late dining time during the cruise?

The easy option would be to stick with My Time Dining and ask for the same dinner time each night. You can even request the same table and waiter, essentially re-creating the traditional experience. Note that My Time Dining starts a bit later than the “early” seating in the traditional dining rooms, which is generally at 5:30 p.m. The late seating of traditional dining is usually 8 p.m. Both seatings of traditional dining may vary by ship and itinerary.

If you are dissatisfied with the My Time Dining experience once on board, the cruise line allows one change per cruise if space is available for your party in the traditional dining room.

Can I request a table for two?

You certainly can. That does not mean your request can always be accommodated. As in a land-based restaurant, table selection may be limited if you go at a busy time. You may need to choose between eating at your desired time at a shared table or waiting a while for a two-top to be ready.

This is another good reason for making reservations. It’s far easier for the dining room staff to accommodate your wishes if they receive your request in advance.

Also, if you like the table and waitstaff you are assigned on the first night, tell the maitre d’ you’d like that table every night. If it’s possible, they will make it happen for you.

Can I eat dinner more than once (or at two venues)?

There is no rule saying you cannot. I have been known to have dinner at one time, head to the early show, then return to the dining room for dessert and a cup of tea. I’ve also enjoyed appetizers with friends early in the evening, only to return or even go to a specialty restaurant for my actual dinner at a later time.

You might think you can avoid the newly implemented surcharge on extra lobster tails by dining twice on lobster night and ordering one tail each visit. However, this dining hack does not work. The staff would notice that you’re a repeat guest and charge for the second lobster tail accordingly.

Can I select My Time Dining on every cruise?

You can stick with My Time Dining or swap back and forth if your needs change on different cruises. Dining options sometimes sell out as the cruise fills up, potentially leaving you stuck with traditional seating when you wanted My Time Dining or vice versa. If that happens, your best option is to go straight to the main dining room upon boarding to try and change it.

Are friends allowed to join us for dinner if we have My Time Dining?

Friends who have chosen My Time Dining are free to join you. You are not locked into that table for two you requested on previous nights. However, according to Royal Caribbean, friends previously assigned a traditional dining time will give that up for the rest of the cruise if they join you in the My Time Dining room for a meal. (Remember that one change per cruise rule?)

Will we miss the shows if we choose My Time Dining?

Shows on Royal Caribbean ships are timed to coordinate with the traditional dining times. Opting for My Time Dining may throw a wrench in your entertainment plans if you aren’t careful. The solution is to determine which shows you must see and coordinate your dinner plans around showtimes.

You’ll want to account for the possibility of wait times in your plans. The worst-case scenario is that you must skip dessert to make it to the show. You can always ask for dessert to go, though.

How does tipping work with My Time Dining?

Pre-paid gratuities are required to participate in My Time Dining. Those tips are then shared among all My Time Dining waiters. You are welcome to offer additional tips to specific waiters.

Is the dress code the same for My Time Dining?

Novice cruisers may think that My Time Dining is the casual cousin of the traditional dining routine and that flexibility should also apply to the dress code. That’s not the case.

The suggested attire each evening is the same for all main dining rooms. I will tell you, though, the My Time Dining room tends to feel a touch more casual most nights. For one thing, more families with children lean toward My Time Dining, meaning you’ll see a more relaxed attitude to the official dress code some nights.

Rules regarding swimsuits, ragged jeans, athletic wear and shorts are generally still enforced.

Who should choose My Time Dining?

My Time Dining on Royal Caribbean is best for families with young children, people with packed activity schedules and those who prefer a flexible routine. It’s also ideal for extroverts who like to meet new people over dinner every night, as well as insular groups who don’t want to sit with strangers.

It’s nice to not be locked into a set time to eat. Even if you make reservations for the whole week before you set foot on the ship, you can easily cancel or change them, leaving you free to eat when hunger strikes rather than when the clock strikes.

Who should avoid My Time Dining?

If routine is your thing, you may be happier with the traditional dining option. Once you know where your table is (traditional diners have the table number printed on their cards), there’s no waiting to get into dinner. You walk through the door and head to your assigned table.

Large groups traveling together who want to share the evening meal most nights will find traditional dining works best. My Time Dining adds too much confusion and requires a great deal of communication every day to pick a dinner time, and your large party may not always be accommodated at the same table.

Bottom line

Royal Caribbean’s My Time Dining plan adds flexibility to the dinner hour for those who want it. You choose the flexible dining option during the booking process, then eat dinner in the main dining room assigned to you during the venue’s open hours. Choosing My Time Dining does not impact where you eat any other meal, nor does it affect your ability to skip the main dining room some nights in favor of the buffet or a specialty restaurant.

The main downside is the possibility of waiting in line to be seated. Plan ahead with reservations or show up at non-peak dining times, and you can avoid this problem and enjoy your dinner with minimal hassles.

Of all the hot spots at Perfect Day at CocoCay, you won’t want to miss the chance to dine at Coco Beach Club®. This chic oasis on the shore — just steps from the sand — serves up the best dishes on the island. Read on for what to eat at Coco Beach Club® during your visit.

While every abuelita riffs on this Latin American dish, the version on the lunch menu here is unforgettable. Locally caught fish is cured in lime juice and served with red onions, corn, cilantro and jalapeños.

Herb-Marinated Filet Mignon

Craving a celebratory dinner in your private beach-front cabana? The filet mignon is marinated in lemon juice and olive oil, and served with chimichurri, garlicky roasted potatoes and grilled vegetables.

Grilled Caribbean Grouper

In the Bahamas you can expect ingredients plucked from the water. This flaky, delicate fish is grilled and served with garlic-saffron aioli and generous sides of truffle French fries and grilled vegetables.

Coco Lobster Sandwich

This handheld eat only looks casual — every bite tastes like a luxury. Coconut-crusted lobster and avocado relish are served on warm brioche with truffle French fries and a sweet rum- pineapple salsa you'll wish you could bottle.

Bahamian Rum Cake

The tropical fruit sorbet is excellent, but this cake is the star of the dessert menu. This local favorite celebrates the region’s excellent distilleries with a soak in butter-rum sauce.

Coco Beach Club® serves complimentary coffee and pastries in the morning. The lunch menu is served from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m., with a buffet of salads and starters. In the afternoon, beat the heat with fruit-infused water.

Reservations

Reservations are encouraged. Request a dining time onboard the ship or when you arrive at the club in the morning.

Shirts or cover-ups are required to enter the club.

The restaurant is all ages, and there is a kids’ menu available.

W hile every restaurant — and abuelita — makes their own riff on this popular dish, the version served during lunch at Coco Beach Club® is simply out of this world. Commonly believed to have originated in Peru, ceviche is a light and refreshing dish that involves curing fish or shrimp in freshly squeezed orange or lime juice. The seafood is then mixed with thinly sliced onions, salt and a diverse array of accompaniments ranging from Peruvian corn to cooked sweet potato to corn nuts. The version at Coco Beach Club® showcases locally caught fish cured in tangy lime juice with the traditional fixings of sliced red onions and crunchy corn, plus a sprinkle of cilantro and spicy jalapeño peppers to give it a fantastic added kick. Not into spice? Just ask the team to nix the peppers; it's just as good without them.

HERB-MARINATED FILET MIGNON

Craving something a bit heartier off the cabana menu at Coco Beach Club®? Try the filet mignon. It's marinated with a simple mixture of sea salt, olive oil and tart lemon juice, allowing the wonderful flavor of the juicy steak to shine through with every bite. What's more, the sides accompanying this guest-favorite dish are as impressive as the main event. Picture fresh, grilled seasonal vegetables, garlic potatoes roasted to golden and crisp and a healthy helping of chimichurri sauce that's sure to bring plenty of heat and robust, herbal flavor..

This is the Caribbean, so you can expect much of the food in Coco Beach Club® to be sourced directly from the crystal-clear turquoise waters surrounding Perfect Day at CocoCay®. One local favorite: grilled Caribbean grouper. This tender, flaky fish has a naturally delicate flavor, so the culinary team at Coco Beach Club® keeps the prep work simple with sea salt, olive oil and a drizzle of fresh lemon juice. Then, they grill it to order so the inside is soft and succulent while the outside is perfectly seared. One of the best parts about this dish is that it comes with a generous side of truffle French fries, plus grilled veggies and a savory garlic-saffron aioli.

Beach and pool days are perfect for handheld eats. Fortunately, Coco Beach Club's® signature entrée is without a doubt a fabulous sandwich. The Coco Lobster Sandwich only looks casual — every bite tastes like pure luxury. Nestled within a warm brioche bun, you'll find a helping of crispy-fried, coconut-crusted lobster. The sweetness of the coconut is balanced with a refreshing avocado relish. This dish also comes paired with Coco Beach Club's® truffle French fries and a rum-soaked pineapple salsa that you'll wish you could bottle up and bring home with you.

Bahamian Rum-Soaked Cake

I have a huge sweet tooth, which means my favorite part of any meal is usually dessert. I was blown away by the Bahamian rum-soaked cake on offer at Coco Beach Club®. Of course, everything on the cabana menu is excellent, from the tropical fruit sorbet and chocolate chip cookies to the caramel-and-chocolate brownie. But the rum cake is the undeniable star of the show here. This moist, flavorful gem is utterly addictive and will have you asking for the recipe after you've taken your first bite.

These are some standout dishes at Coco Beach Club®, but the menu features plenty more delicacies to please every palate — like a creamy and refreshing baba ghanoush spread that will transport you straight to the easternmost shores of the Mediterranean; a succulent broiled lobster that pairs perfectly with Coco Beach Club's® crisp Caesar salad; and the signature Cabana Burger, grilled to order and served with the club's secret sauce. There's even a kids' menu for families visiting with little ones, with elevated finger favorites like chicken breast strips, wings, mozzarella sticks and more.

The cocktail list is also notable. Standout specialty drinks include the fruity, vodka-forward Castaway and the sparkling Coco Cuvée — a delicious concoction of Chandon Sweet Star, Malibu rum, coconut water and pineapple juice.
