7 Night Eastern on Fantasy Dining Menus

Earning my ears.

  • Jan 30, 2022

Hi everyone! It’s been a few years since I did a 7 night Eastern Carribean on the Fantasy and our booking window opened, so I am trying to decide what night to book Palo dinner. I know after the first 3 nights, the menus are unique to the theme for that night, and last time there was night that they did lobster tail and I definitely don’t want to miss that. Does anyone know if they keep the same schedule of what night is what menu? And if so, does anyone know what the menus would be nights 4-7? I can even google the menus, just wanting to know if say night 4 is the Captain’s dinner menu or the Pirate menu for example. Thanks!!!

It's not still true. The menus don't work like that anymore. Instead, each of the main restaurants has two menus that are exclusive to that restaurant. You'll eat at each restaurant twice, and you'll have a third night at one of them for the pirate menu (or some other special menu, such as Star Wars). An example eastern cruise: Night 1 - Rotation #1 (AP) Night 2 - Rotation #1 (EG) Night 3 - Rotation #1 (RC) Night 4 - Rotation #2 (Animation Magic @ AP) Night 5 - Rotation #2 (Prince & Princess @ EG) Night 6 - Star Wars Night 7 - Rotation #2 (Captain's Gala @ RC) I'm not sure which restaurant you would be at for Star Wars Dat at Sea. Anyway, the point is that there are no more ship-wide theme menus. You'll always have Animation Magic at AP, which is now a full menu instead of just starters, you'll always have Prince & Princess at EG, and you'll always have Captain's Gala at RC. So, if you want to plan around Captain's Gala for lobsters, then you'll want to request a specific dining rotation and then plan Palo around that. You might not get your requested rotation, but that's probably the best that you can do. It's been like this since at least 2019, but probably longer than that. The DCL Blog says that the full Animation Magic menu was born in 2018, so that's probably when they changed everything to the current system.

Thanks everyone! I called CS too and asked but all they have is the attire for each night, not what menu it will be.

Cute and fluffy.

We did SWDAS 1/15-1/22. It was supposed to be an Eastern (San Juan & St. Maarten) but got changed to a Western. Here was our dining rotation & menus: Saturday: Enchanted Garden - Signature menu (cruise casual) Sunday: Royal Court - Signature menu (cruise casual) Monday: Animators Palate - Signature menu (formal) Tuesday: Animators Palate - SWDAS menu (cruise casual) Wednesday: Enchanted Garden: Prince & Princess menu (cruise casual - this was also a light pirate night) Thursday: Royal Court - Captain's Gala menu (semi-formal) Friday: Animators Palate - Animation Magic menu (cruise casual) ETA: dress codes for each night

🤷🏻‍♂️

  • On the first 3 times at a restaurant, you get the "base" rotational menu for that restaurant
  • Captain's Gala (aka Lobster Night) whenever you'll be in Royal Court
  • Princes and Princesses whenever you'll be in Enchanted Garden
  • Animator's Magic (formerly See Ya Real Soon menu) whenever you'll be in Animator's Palate
  • As there are 7 nights, one of the night will feature a special menu - on the Fantasy - Pirates, except during Star Wars cruise where you have a Star Wars menu

The attire that the CS rep quoted me yesterday matched the 1/15-1/22 cruise above except mine is not a SWDAS cruise so the optional pirate dressed themed night is night 4.

I believe the rotations for the 7 night go 1231231 with 2nd (1) is pirate night so if your rotation is AERAERA then you’ll get crush night 1, pirate night in animators and last night would be Animation Magic etc.

So that you do not miss one of the above menus, you will be in the same restaurant on consecutive nights. Star Wars cruise always have the special menu/night on night #6 Semi-formal is usually on night #5. There is no "mandatory" attire in main dining room (cruise casual) but you can indeed dress up. Disney Cruise Menus

by Prof. Cruise · Published January 30, 2022 · Updated June 12, 2023

A bunch of Disney cruise menus with text that reads: Disney Cruise Menus.

There’s something you should know about me that might surprise you. I went on a Disney cruise before it was cool. In fact, I went on a Disney cruise before Disney Cruise Line even existed! You’re probably asking yourself two questions at this point: “how?” and “just how old is she?!?”

At 10 years-old I went on my very first cruise, a “Disney cruise” onboard Premier Cruise Line (they had a partnership with Disney that allowed characters on their ships and offered cruise, hotel, and theme park packages). I was reminiscing about that first cruise today with Paul Thornton as he interviewed me for the third in his series of cruise books and thought to myself, “even though I’m cheaper than Jack Benny (that should offer you a clue as to my age) and low-key hate Disney (Walt would want you to go easy on me in the comments), as someone who cruises for a living I really shouldn’t have let 30+ years go by between Disney cruises.”

disney cruise line fantasy menus

So that got me thinking about planning a Disney cruise. And since food is one of the most important aspects of cruising, I was curious as to whether the quality and variety of food on Disney would justify the extra cost. I figured some of my readers may be wondering the same, so I reached out to a Disney loving cruise buddy and he sent along these recent menus (these specific menus are from the Dream and the Fantasy – other ships will vary slightly, but this will still give you a basic idea of what to expect).

He also sent me a primer on “rotational dining,” which I think sounds pretty unique and fun.

What’s “rotational dining” on Disney cruises?

It’s like speed dating with food! Disney ships have three main dining rooms with a different menu and theme. Each evening of your cruise you will rotate to a different restaurant (assigned to you in advance) with your same table-mates and wait staff. In looking over the menus posted below, the three dining rooms are: Animator’s Palate, Enchanted Garden, and Royal Palace. There’s also a pirate theme night that will take place in one of those dining rooms and I’ve included that menu as well.

I’ll spare you any further song and dance (you’ll get plenty of that if you decide to book a Disney cruise) and get straight to the menus. But if there’s anyone reading who has cruised on Disney, please chime in in the comments with your experience and your favorite menu items.

Disney Cruise Line’s Breakfast Menu (included)

This breakfast menu will be available in one of the main dining rooms and is included in your cruise fare.

Disney Cruise Line’s Animator’s Palate Diner Menu Menu (included)

Aminator’s Palate is one of the three main dining rooms you will “rotate” through for dinner. If you are on a Disney ship other than the Dream or the Fantasy the dining rooms will have different names.

Disney Cruise Line’s Enchanted Garden Dinner Menu (included)

Enchanted Garden is one of the three main dining rooms you will “rotate” through for dinner. If you are on a Disney ship other than the Dream or the Fantasy the dining rooms will have different names.

Disney Cruise Line’s Royal Palace Dinner Menu (included)

Royal Palace (called “Royal Court” on the Fantasy) is one of the three main dining rooms you will “rotate” through for dinner. If you are on a Disney ship other than the Dream or the Fantasy the dining rooms will have different names.

Disney Cruise Line's Royal Palace Dinner Menu 2022 page 1

Disney Cruise Line’s Pirate Night Dinner Menu (included)

On most Disney itineraries there will be a Pirate-themed night that will take place in whatever restaurant you’re assigned for that night. Here’s the menu:

Disney Cruise Line’s Kids Menus

Here are the kid’s menus for a 7-night sailing. Each menu will also include an additional page with activities for kids to complete while waiting for their meal to arrive. Or for adults who forgot to charge their phone.

This is the kid’s menu for Pirate Night:

Disney Cruise Line’s Room Service Menu (included)

Room service is included for free on Disney cruises (except for specialty items noted below), but be sure to tip. I typically tip $2 per item ordered, but do whatever you’re comfortable with.

This adults-only Italian specialty restaurant offers a prix fixe option for $45 or you can order Ă  la carte.

Disney Cruise Line Remy Dinner Menu (extra charge)

At $125 for the prix fixe option (you can also order Ă  la carte), Remy stands out as the most expensive specialty restaurant at sea. The French-inspired offerings are the work of two world renowned chefs, Scott Hunnel, from the award-winning Victoria & Albert’s at the Disney World Resort, and Arnaud Lallement, a Michelin 3-starred chef recently named one of the world’s 10 best chefs by  Le Chef .

Disney Cruise Line Remy Dinner Menu 2022 page 1

These menus almost make me want to get a real job so I can afford them! That seems extreme though. Instead I think I’ll start subtly working on my in-laws, tugging gently on their heart strings: “Your grandson will love you more if you take us all on a Disney cruise!”

If my next post includes a photo of me pouting in 30-year-old Minnie ears with a “DONATE HERE TO SEND PROF. CRUISE ON A DISNEY CRUISE” button, you’ll know it didn’t work. And with that…

CLASS DISMISSED.

Homework (10 points): Share your thoughts on cruising Disney in the comments. If you’ve taken a Disney cruise, what did you think? If you haven’t, why not? Tips? Tricks? Highlights? Worth the higher cost? Not worth the higher cost? Favorite menu items? I want to hear it all! I love learning from my cruise friends, especially when they know way more about a topic than I do! Thanks in advance!

The Disney Dream took a pit stop in the middle of the Atlantic yesterday evening as the ship attempted to assist in what appeared to be an urgent emergency.

Disney Dream ship, adorned with elegant golden designs, sails on the open ocean under a clear sky, showcasing its vast scale and modern structure.

Disney Cruise Line sets sail on a fleet of five marvelous ships. The Disney Magic and Disney Wonder, launched in 1997 and 1998, respectively, are considered the veteran vessels of the Disney Cruise Line family. Known for their cozy size and enchanting Disney atmosphere, these ships are perfect for families looking for a classic Disney cruise experience.

Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy, sister ships launched in 2010 and 2012, offer a bit more space compared to the classic ships.

The newest member of the fleet is the Disney Wish, which set sail for the first time in 2022. As the first in the Triton Class, the Disney Wish introduces innovative experiences like the immersive storytelling environment in the Disney Wish-verse.

Mickey and Minnie on the Disney Cruise Line ships

The future promises to be even brighter for Disney Cruise Line, with three more ships scheduled to join the fleet. The Disney Treasure, set for a late 2024 debut, will be the second ship in the Triton Class. Disney Adventure and Disney Destiny are also on the horizon, with launches planned for 2025.

No matter what Disney ship you are on, cast members ensure that guest safety is their top priority.

For example, just days ago, the U.S. Coast Guard responded to a pregnant passenger in need of assistance aboard the Disney Fantasy, conducting an airlift operation to transport her from the ship in the middle of the Atlantic to Puerto Rico, approximately 200 miles away.

The 35-year-old woman faced health issues requiring more extensive medical attention than what was available onboard.

Fireworks show at the Disney Cruise Line at Barcelona, Spain

Utilizing a rescue basket and litter, the woman and the ship’s doctor were lifted onto the helicopter, which then flew them to the Fernando Luis Ribas Dominicci Airport in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Subsequently, she was transferred to Centro Medico Hospital for further treatment.

Disney will also stop to help other ships in the water if they appear to be in distress.

Last night, Kevin John O’Connor, a passenger on the Disney Dream, posted a reel to the Disney Cruise Line Facebook group, stating that the ship stopped moving to help what appeared to be a capsized boat in the water.

The boat was crossing the Atlantic to get to Spain when it stopped, and as we can see from Kevin’s post, it is certainly an upside down boat.

Kevin reported that there were no visible signs of life from the incident.

Two side-by-side images showing close-ups of an object from the Disney Cruise Line floating on the Atlantic at night, illuminated dimly, making it unclear what the object is.

The Blast reported that guest Jose Carreon on the Disney Dream had passed a capsized boat late evening on Tuesday, May 7, 2024. “Shortly thereafter, an announcement came over the loudspeakers, informing the passengers that the ship had to turn around and investigate. The ship stopped for approximately 30 minutes but then left the site. According to Mr. Carreon, the captain of the Disney Dream contacted local authorities.”

The publication spoke to other passengers including Lacey Harris, who said, “they saw lights and a capsized catamaran off the starboard side and would be stopping to investigate.” Ms. Harris witnessed the captain and crew “shine the big searchlight on the wreckage for about 30 minutes.”

“They searched the water and wreckage, but no one was found. After they realized no one would be found, the Captain came back [over the loudspeaker] and announced they would be continuing on to Ponta Delgada and thanked us for our patience.”

Earlier this year, we reported that Disney conducted a successful rescue mission on New Year’s Eve, once again stopping their boat to provide aid.

The crew spotted a small boat in distress north of Havana, Cuba. Cruise lines helping stranded vessels is uncommon, but Disney Fantasy didn’t hesitate. Passengers even captured the rescue mission on camera. The Disney Fantasy crew launched a smaller boat and brought four people on board safely.

While Disney has faced its fair share of issues, other major cruise lines do as well.

Carnival Cruise Line faced a significant emergency situation in February 2013 when the Carnival Triumph suffered an engine room fire. This incident left the ship stranded in the Gulf of Mexico without power, resulting in unsanitary conditions and limited amenities for passengers. After several days adrift, the ship was eventually towed to Mobile, Alabama.

Royal Caribbean encountered its own emergency situation in February 2016 when the Anthem of the Seas encountered a severe storm off the coast of South Carolina. The ship listed dramatically, causing damage and injuries among passengers due to the rough seas. As a result, the ship returned to port in New Jersey ahead of schedule.

Princess Cruise Line found itself in the midst of a crisis in February 2020 when the Diamond Princess faced a COVID-19 outbreak while docked in Yokohama, Japan. Passengers were quarantined onboard for several weeks, and the ship became a focal point of international attention regarding the spread of the virus.

These are just a few small examples of that.

Foodies can also rejoice with a Coco -themed dining experience at Plaza de Coco. This dinner show picks up where the beloved 2017 Pixar movie left off, with a brand-new adventure and delicious Mexican cuisine to tantalize your taste buds.

Thrill-seekers won’t be disappointed, either. The massive 144,000-gross ton cruise ship features the brand new AquaMouse water coaster, a 760-foot long adventure that combines the thrills of a water slide with a roller coaster.

Finally, for adults seeking a break from the little ones or couples looking for a romantic escape, Disney is expanding its adult-only offerings with Sarabi, a Lion King -themed lounge named after Simba’s mother. This versatile space transforms throughout the day, offering musical performances, comedy acts, and family game shows during the day before transforming into a lively adult-exclusive haunt by night, complete with live entertainment designed for a more mature audience.

Disney Dream vs Disney Fantasy: How These Disney Cruise Ships Compare

Wondering whether you should book a cruise on the Disney Dream vs the Disney Fantasy? We’re comparing and contrasting these sister ships for you below.

When booking your Disney Cruise Line vacation, trying to choose which ship or itinerary is best for your family can be a bit overwhelming. It’s especially tough to choose between the Disney Dream and the Disney Fantasy – the two are sister ships, meaning their layouts and some of the offerings are identical. However, there are also some notable differences.

So, which ship should you choose for your next vacation? Let’s look at the Disney Dream vs the Disney Fantasy, what each offers vacationers, and which is best for every type of guest.

Comparing Restaurants on the Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy

If dining is one of your biggest priorities on your Disney cruise, good news: both ships have the same three restaurants! Enchanted Garden , Royal Palace (known as Royal Court on the Disney Fantasy), and Animator’s Palate are the three main restaurants on both the Dream and the Fantasy. Although the names are slightly different, the menus and the atmosphere on both ships are the same.

Additionally, you’ll find the same buffet-style restaurant on the Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy: Cabanas. On both ships, this quick-service style dining location serves breakfast and lunch, and the food is included with the price of your cruise.

In addition to the buffet, the Disney Dream and the Disney Fantasy offer other quick-service style locations – Flo’s Cafe, Eye Scream Treats, Frozone Treats, and Vanellope’s Sweets & Treats.

Disney Dream vs Disney Fantasy Bottom Line: All of the restaurants and quick-service style dining locations on the Disney Dream and the Disney Fantasy are the same.

Comparing Bars and Lounges on the Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy

When it comes to bars and lounges, both the Disney Dream and the Disney Fantasy have the following:

  • Currents : This outdoor bar is located inside the adults-only section of the Disney Dream and offers a wide variety of drinks such as frozen margaritas, glasses of wine, mixed cocktails, and more.
  • Cove CafĂ© : This adults-only lounge offers specialty drinks, as well as coffee and tea options such as lattes and cappuccinos.
  • Vista CafĂ© : This Art-Deco-inspired cafĂ© offers coffee and pastries in the morning and cocktails in the evening.
  • Skyline : This sky-bar is known for its martinis, but Guests can order other mixed drinks as well. Sip on your adult beverage while taking in views of global cityscapes – which change every few minutes!
  • Bon Voyage : Located in the grand Atrium of the Disney Dream, Bon Voyage will be your go-to for cocktails, coffee, juices, and more.
  • Meridian : This sophisticated lounge is located in between the adults-only restaurants on board – Remy and Palo . Because Meridian is at the back of the ship, Guests can sip on an Old Fashioned while taking in spectacular ocean-views.

However, there are other bars and lounges on both ships that differ. On the Disney Dream, there are three main bars and lounges:

  • District Lounge : This piano bar is the perfect place to unwind with friends, order a cocktail, and listen to live music.
  • Pink: Wine & Champagne Ba r: This adults-only pink champagne bar is filled with bubbles and fun. Themed off of the beloved animated film Dumbo , Pink offers Guests a relaxing environment to sip on a bubbly while listening to live music.
  • Pub 687 : Not only is Pub 687 the place to go for sports and a cold beer, but they also offer a small bites menu. For an additional cost, Guests can order wings, flatbreads, and other small plates to enjoy while watching the big game or chatting with friends and family.

D-Lounge on the Disney Fantasy. Photo by Danny Shuster

On the Disney Fantasy, there are five main bars and lounges:

  • D-Lounge : This family nightclub offers fun for all ages. Entertainment options include karaoke, trivia game shows, and line dancing.
  • La Piazza : This adults-only very merry-go-round Carosello bar offers an exquisite fee thanks to the beautiful lighting throughout.
  • The Tube : Inspired by London’s subway, visitors will be transported to the swinging 1970s-era London. During the day, this lounge hosts trivia and arts and crafts, but at night, watch The Tube transform into an adults-only nightclub.
  • O’Gills Pub : Disney Fantasy’s signature pub brings the luck of the Irish to you! Watch all your favorite sports teams on TV at this Irish pub as you share a pint of your favorite beer or snack on some small plates, such as chicken wings or coconut shrimp.
  • Ooh La La : Ooh La La is Disney Fantasy’s champagne bar. Decorated in pinks and whites, this piano champagne bar is the perfect relaxation spot for when you need to unwind with a glass of bubbles.

Disney Dream vs Disney Fantasy Bottom Line: With more bars and lounges, and a wider selection of options overall, the Disney Fantasy has the edge. If you’re someone who enjoys late evenings and live music, the Disney Fantasy is the ship to choose.

Comparing Pools, Amenities, and More on the Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy

Because the Dream and the Fantasy are sister ships within the same ship class, they’re pretty much identical in terms of size and capacity. Both ships carry up to 4,000 passengers in 1,250 cabins. The decks and general ship layouts are quite similar. Even the interior of the staterooms is quite similar – you can check out a Disney Dream stateroom vs a Disney Fantasy stateroom with our walkthroughs.

If you’re traveling with kids or teens, note that the kids and teens clubs, including the nursery for babies and toddlers, are the same on both ships as well.

When it comes to pools and water fun , the top decks of both the Disney Fantasy and Disney Dream feature the AquaDuck water coaster and numerous pools along with Tunnel Vision, allowing children and families to enjoy Disney movies while splashing around or soaking up the sun.

If you’re interested in entertainment, both ships offer two theaters – one for shows and one for movies. The shows do differ (on the Dream, you’ll find a musical production of  Beauty and the Beast , while on the Fantasy you can catch  Frozen, A Musical Spectacular ), but the amount of offerings is the same. There are also plenty of meet-and-greets with Mickey and friends, the Disney Princesses, and other iconic Disney characters, as well as a wide variety of events such as trivia, drawing classes, cooking classes, and more across both ships.

Disney Dream vs Disney Fantasy Bottom Line:  When it comes down to the amenities on board, both adults and families will find plenty of fun on either ship. Plus, with similar staterooms, even the accommodations are equally nice.

Comparing Itineraries for the Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy

Because the Dream and Fantasy are so similar (aside from the differences in their bars and lounges), the biggest difference between the Disney Dream and the Disney Fantasy is their itineraries. The ships offer different sailings, both location-wise and in number of days or nights onboard.

If you’re looking for a shorter vacation, go with the Disney Dream. The Dream offers itineraries of three- to five-night cruises to the Bahamas.

If you want more time onboard, choose the Disney Fantasy. The Fantasy offers seven-night cruises to the Eastern and Western Caribbean, giving you more time to enjoy the ship and a few port destinations.

Both ships do stop at Disney’s private island, Castaway Cay – so no matter which one you choose to book a sailing on, you won’t miss out!

Which should you book? Personally, I prefer the Disney Fantasy as I love the bars and lounges offered, and I like the longer itinerary options as you get to know the ship’s staff better, making for a more personalized vacation. Ultimately, though, since the Fantasy and Dream are so similar, it all depends on personal preference and what suits your family’s needs better.

Nude cruise and a Taylor Swift cruise: 8 themed ships leaving Florida ports in 2024 and 2025

disney cruise line fantasy menus

From swinging to Swifties, there's truly a themed cruise for everything nowadays.

Seasoned cruisers know you can take your travel up a level by boarding a themed cruise, exploring the seas with those with the same passions and interests as you.

Whether you adore the cheesy Christmas movies that come out every year or you're a hip-hop fanatic, here are some of the top-themed cruises sailing out of Florida over the next year.

Big Nude Boat

The " Big Nude Boat " cruise is an 11-day adventure set for 2025 on the Norwegian Pearl, departing from the Port of Miami on Feb. 3 and returns to the same port on Feb. 14 (just in time for Valentine's Day).

"Bare Necessities’ newest nude cruise is a private island double-dip with a brand new travel partner," the company wrote on its website .

The itinerary includes stops at the Bahamas, Puerto Rico, St. Maarten, Dominica, Martinique and St. Lucia. Rates for an inside cabin start at $2,000 per person and go to up to $33,000 for a top room.

Guests are encouraged to park their bare behinds on towels provided on board in areas including the pool deck and the buffet area, according to the website.

"Passengers can easily follow our rule on nudist etiquette by always placing a towel down before sitting," it reads. "Remember to pack a swimsuit; not all excursions are clothing optional."

In My Cruise Era

The “ In My Cruise Era … ” is a  Taylor Swift-themed cruise  that is set to launch from Port of Miami on Oct. 21,

The cruise, on a Royal Caribbean ship, leaves for the Bahamas the day after Swift's final show of her three-day stop in Miami. According to the website, the cruise fare includes stateroom accommodations, dinner in the main dining room nightly as well as additional buffet and a la carte options around the ship. It also includes entertainment.

All aboard the Taylor Swift ship! Popstar-themed cruise sets sail in Florida next year

"This cruise is for all fans, so bring your besties, your moms and dads, your baby fans, and if you need someone to room with, post on our page and ask," the organizers wrote on the  website .

The itinerary, though not finalized and "subject to change," includes:

  • " We can’t make any promises now can we babe, but you can make me a drink " Welcome Cocktail Party
  • " Make the friendship bracelets, take the moment and taste it " Friendship Bracelet Swapping
  • " I don't wanna dance if I'm not dancing with you " ThemedDance Party
  • " Heartbreak is the national anthem, we sing it proudly " Themed Karaoke
  • " Can I ask you a question? " Taylor Trivia
  • "Lately she’s been dressing for revenge " Nightly eras outfit themes

Halloween on the High Seas on the Disney Cruise Line

Looking for a more family-friendly option? The Disney Cruise line has you covered.

The Disney Cruise Line will offer its " Halloween on the High Seas " cruises in September and October. Patrons can choose from sailings ranging from 3-7 days, most of which travel to the Bahamas or the Caribbean islands. The Halloween-themed cruise is offered on four of the Disney cruise ships, including the Disney Magic, Disney Wish, Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy.

While on board the Halloween on the High Seas cruise, AAA writes guests will enjoy magical, spooktacular entertainment every day, such as:

  • Meet and greets with your favorite Disney characters, all decked out in their own Halloween costumes.
  • Halloween parties with Mickey, Minnie and the whole gang.
  • Ghoulish menus at every meal.

Hallmark Christmas Cruise

In case Halloween isn't your preferred holiday to spend on the seas, why not pretend you're in your own made-for-TV Christmas movie?

The Hallmark Channel, holiday season film factory, will host a Christmas Cruise that will embark on a four-night sailing on Nov. 5 from Miami. According to USA Today, passengers will be able to experience holiday cheer on the high seas, complete with cookie making, “carol-oke,” photo ops with network stars, and an exclusive movie premiere of one of the famed Countdown to Christmas films.

The Christmas cruise will take place aboard the Norwegian Gem Cruise Ship, a 965-foot Jewel-class ship.

The company announced that the cruise has already sold out, sharing to USA TODAY via email last year: "Christmas cheer filled every tier, and now the first ever Hallmark Channel Christmas Cruise is SOLD OUT."

Rock the Bells Cruise

Hip Hop Hooray! The Rock the Bells Cruise: A Hip-Hop Experience is a four-day jam session founded by LL Cool J back in 2023. After seeing major success last year, the cruise is returning for 2024.

MCs, DJs, and producers will lead nonstop parties and live performances on the Norwegian Gem from Nov. 13 through 17. The cruise leaves from Miami to Great Stirrup Cay and Nassau.

Some of the acts lined up for the cruise include Busta Rhymes, DJ Jazzy Jeff, Method Man & Redman, Scarface, Kid Capri and more.

Comic-Con: The Cruise

Get ready to join the CCU (Cruise Cinematic Universe). San Diego Comic-Con and Entertainment Cruise Productions have team up for Comic-Con: The Cruise . It will run from Feb. 5 through 9 of 2025.

Sailing on Royal Caribbean's  Serenade of the Seas  from Tampa to Cozumel, participants will interact with Comic-Con icons and attend nonstop activities on board, such as cosplay events, trivia, parties and more

Some of the stars who are slated to be on board include:

  • George Takei
  • Robb Pearlman
  • Mary McDonnell

Star Trek - The Cruise

Live long and prosper! Trekkies can geek out with one another on best cruise experience in the galaxy, according to U.S. News .

Sailing on Royal Caribbean International's Explorer of the Seas, the Star Trek cruise will sail from Miami on Feb. 23-through March 2 of 2025. Passengers will head to Costa Maya, Cozumel and Belize.

"Each night of the cruise celebrates a different dimension of the Star Trek experience and, since the cruise's debut in 2017, guests have knocked it out of the park with show-stopping costumes," U.S. News writes.

Norwegian: Ultimate Disco Cruise

Dig out those old bell-bottom pants and practice your dance moves while you have time!

Norwegian Cruise Line Ultimate Disco Cruise leaves from Miami on Feb. 19 through 24, 2025. During this groovy cruise, you will travel aboard the Norwegian Pearl to ports of call such as Cozumel and Costa Maya. Awhile attending the hottest disco parties along the high seas.

AAA notes these are some of the performers and guests that are going to be on board alongside you:

  • Kool & The Gang
  • Original Stone City Band
  • The Spinners
  • Shalamar featuring Howard Hewett, Carolyn Griffey and Jeffrey Daniel

When is the best time to cruise?

Here are AAA’s trend forecasts for the best times to cruise in 2024, according to the kind of cruise you choose:

  • The Caribbean  is popular year-round, but spring and summer are the most popular sailing times.
  • Alaska cruise  season runs from May to September. Because this is an abbreviated period, there’s more competition for availability.
  • Weekend cruises  have gained popularity in recent years. Weekend warriors have realized the value an all-inclusive cruise compared to a weekend getaway in a big city resort. Cruise lines have recognized this growing trend and are making weekend cruises more of a priority in 2024, by mobilizing some of their newest ships to accessible ports for weekend excursions.
  • European river cruising  is now operational year-round. Because European travel is most popular during the summer, travelers can avoid the crowds and find lower priced cruises and airfares in the early and later parts of the year.
