Jungle Cruise Disney+ Hotstar Release Date Set for November 12

No word on a theatrical release date in india for the rock and emily blunt movie..

Jungle Cruise — the Dwayne Johnson and Emily Blunt-led fantasy adventure movie — will release November 12 on Disney+ Hotstar, Gadgets 360 has learnt. The Disney movie is out now in cinemas worldwide and released Friday, July 30 on Disney+ Premier Access in most Disney+ markets. The latter involves a $30 (roughly Rs. 2,230) or equivalent fee on top of your Disney+ monthly subscription. But since Disney+ Premier Access is not an option on Disney+ Hotstar (that is also in Indonesia, Malaysia, and Thailand), Jungle Cruise will only be available in India once it leaves Premier Access — and that's November 12. And while some Hollywood studios are releasing films in Indian cinemas now, Disney is content with sitting on the sidelines it seems.

The November 12 Disney+ Hotstar release date for Jungle Cruise is curiously more than the standard three-month gap between Disney+ Premier Access and Disney+ Hotstar. In the past, Disney's live-action reimagining of Mulan released September 4 on Disney+ Premier Access, and then arrived December 4 on Disney+ Hotstar. Its latest animated feature, Raya and the Last Dragon , released March 5 in Indian cinemas and on Disney+ Premier Access, and was made available June 4 on Disney+ Hotstar. The Emma Stone-led Cruella premiered May 28 on Disney+ Premier Access, and is now slated for August 27 (as I'd predicted) on Disney+ Hotstar. It's unclear why Disney is holding onto Jungle Cruise as a Premier Access title for two additional weeks than it otherwise does.

There's an exception to the rule here: Black Widow . The Marvel movie released July 9 on Disney+ Premier Access, and is expected in August on Disney+ Hotstar. But that's only happening because the Marvel Cinematic Universe is huge in India. I don't expect Disney to make that same exception for Jungle Cruise.

Johnson and Blunt respectively star as steamboat captain Frank “Skipper” Wolff and eccentric scientist Dr. Lily Houghton on Jungle Cruise, a World War I-era adventure into the Amazonian jungles to find the Tree of Life — the film is based on Disney's theme park ride of the same name. Jungle Cruise also stars Jack Whitehall as Lily's younger brother McGregor Houghton, Édgar Ramírez as the mercenary Aguirre leading a rival expedition, Jesse Plemons as deranged German aristocrat Prince Joachim, and Paul Giamatti as harbourmaster Nilo Nemolato. Veronica Falcón, Dani Rovira, Quim Gutiérrez, and Andy Nyman also have roles on Jungle Cruise.

Jaume Collet-Serra (The Shallows) is the director on Jungle Cruise, working off a screenplay written by Michael Green ( Logan ), Glenn Ficarra and John Requa (Focus). Johnson is also a producer on Jungle Cruise alongside John Davis, John Fox, Beau Flynn, Dany Garcia, and Hiram Garcia, with Scott Sheldon and Doug Merrifield serving as executive producers. Jungle Cruise is a production of Walt Disney Pictures, Davis Entertainment, Seven Bucks Productions, and Flynn Picture Company. The Disney movie was made on an estimated budget of $200 million (about Rs. 1,485 crores).

Jungle Cruise is based on Walt Disney’s The Jungle Cruise, an iconic theme park attraction that features a simulated riverboat ride through diverse geographic locations in various Disney Parks worldwide.

Produced under the banner of Walt Disney Pictures, its producers are John Davis, John Fox, Dany Garcia, Beau Flynn, Dwayne Johnson, Hiram Garcia.

I remember riding the Jungle Cruise and it’s exciting, it’s tantalizing in a way, and you don’t know what’s around the corner. You’re transported into this other world.”

The footage focuses on Dr. Lily (Emily Blunt) who sets on an adventure to the Amazon in search of a magical tree, ‘The Tears of the Moon’ that is confirmed to have unusual healing powers. She comes across the steamboat captain Frank (Dwayne Johnson) and they unite on this interesting joy ride packed with laughter, action and monsters.

Marvel Studios blockbuster Shang-Chi and The Legend of The Ten Rings and adventure movie Jungle Cruise will be available for streaming in India from November 12 when Disney celebrates Disney+ Day.

The company will kick off the Disney+ Day with the premiere of Special Ops 1.5 , the new instalment of Neeraj Pandey-created Special Ops series, it said in a statement.

An array of new content and exclusive programming will be unveiled on Disney+ Hotstar on November 12 from Disney and its subsidiaries -- Pixar, Star Wars, Marvel and National Geographic as the company celebrates the second anniversary of the launch of its streaming platform.

Simu Liu-led Shang-Chi and The Legend of The Ten Rings and Jungle Cruise, featuring Hollywood stars Dwayne Johnson and Emily Blunt, will both premiere on Disney+ Hotstar.

Home Sweet Home Alone, a Disney+ Original and the sixth film in the Home Alone franchise, will also make its debut on November 12.

From National Geographic, the first five episodes from season two of "The World According to Jeff Goldblum" will drop on the streaming platform.

Among other projects, the company has set two specials -- one celebrating the origins and legacy of Star Wars' legendary bounty hunter, Boba Fett, and the other on the highly-successful Marvel Cinematic Universe with an exciting look towards the future.

Michael Keaton-led Hulu limited series Dopesick, based on author Beth Macy's bestselling book of the same name, will finally be available for Disney+ Hotstar subscribers on Disney+ Day.

"The inaugural Disney+ Day will be a grand-scale celebration of our subscribers across the entire company," said Bob Chapek, Chief Executive Officer, The Walt Disney Company.

You can watch this movie on all subscription plans of the Disney+ Hotstar platform starting from ₹499/year. The OTT platform of Shang-Chi in India is Hotstar because Hotstar is owned by Disney, which is also the owner of Marvel Studios.

Shang-Chi had a 45-day theatrical window for its digital release. However, the digital release was delayed due to its success on the big screen.

The cast of this movie includes Simu Liu, Tony Leung, Fala Chen and Awkwafina. It was directed by Destin Daniel Cretton.

Also, Marvel’s other superhero movie Black Widow is already been released on Hotstar . That was not out in Cinemas in the country.

The rock 'n' blunt connection..

Jungle Cruise premieres in theaters and on Disney+ Premier Access on Friday, July 30.

Jungle Cruise is one heck of a summertime ride, thanks in large part to the delightfully memorable duo at its center. Co-stars Dwayne Johnson and Emily Blunt anchor the rollicking adventure with superb on-screen chemistry and together, they help this ramshackle trek into the Amazon soar.

Jungle Cruise -- the first Disney theme park attraction to get the big picture action/adventure treatment since Pirates of the Caribbean -- may get bogged down a tiny bit during its climax, doubling down on CGI action until the film starts to lose some of its life and charm, but that's a small quibble in the grand scheme of this fun and refreshing caper. Johnson and Blunt are tremendous together, capable of bickering and butting heads while still being believably tethered and emotionally connected to one another.

The film didn't need the gentle romance presented here, but director Jaume Collet-Serra makes it work, and both Johnson and Blunt earn each stolen glance. Johnson also, when he wants to, has a way of being so charismatic that you forget he's an insanely proportioned individual. Sure, the script will occasionally remind you of this, but his character, the lightly scheming river skipper Frank, is winningly charming, even when he's trying to pull a clever con.

Blunt, too, looks to be enjoying herself immensely here. As the heroic and headstrong botanist Dr. Lily Houghton, she embodies the craftiness and scholarliness of an Indiana Jones, sometimes getting by on her wits and sometimes scraping by on pure luck. There's a bouncy, cartoonish element to the action, harkening back to old matinee serials of the 1930s and, in turn, the aforementioned Indiana Jones (referring to the more comedic action in Last Crusade and not the grimmer fare of the first two films). It's a mix of roughhousing and slapstick that never feels as false or phony as it should, and James Newton Howard's winning score presents it all with a punchy playfulness.

Fans of the actual Jungle Cruise (which is now in the midst of a remake/remodel) will spot a bunch of sweet and goofy Easter eggs, the first and foremost being Frank's penchant for puns. And Johnson makes that work too, bless him. Once Lily and her posh brother McGregor (a very funny Jack Whitehall) find Frank, and we briefly encounter a loud and sunburned Paul Giamatti, the movie sets sail for forbidden corners of the Amazon. Over the course of their journey, we find that this big-budget studio release has a sneaky, surprising spark to it and an abundance of heart.

The film's villains are the unique tag team of a quirky German aristocrat played by Jesse Plemons and undead conquistador played by Édgar Ramírez (part of the CGI pile-on elements). Plemons is truly bizarre and, in any other scenario, would be a scene-stealer, but the story's guiding light, and most enjoyable players, are Johnson, Blunt and Whitehall. The film is at its strongest whenever the Houghtons are there, Frank is there, or they're all three together.

Jungle Cruise runs about two hours and, sure, with that comes a few dips here and there. The backstory/mythology surrounding the jungle and the conquistadors (i.e. why Ramirez is a barely present snake man) feels a bit dry, but the script is witty in ways that help squeak us through the set pieces. Clever dialogue pops in to punctuate just about everything, making for a movie that breezes by, distracting and diverting in all the best escapist ways.

MUMBAI: Marvel Studios blockbuster "Shang-Chi and The Legend of The Ten Rings" and adventure movie "Jungle Cruise" will be available for streaming in India from November 12 when Disney celebrates Disney+ Day.

The company will kick-off the Disney+ Day with the premiere of "Special Ops 1.5", the new instalment of Neeraj Pandey-created "Special Ops" series, it said in a statement.

An array of new content and exclusive programming will be unveiled on Disney+ Hotstar on November 12 from Disney and its subsidiaries -- Pixar, Star Wars, Marvel and National Geographic as the company celebrates the second anniversary of the launch of its streaming platform.

Simu Liu-led "Shang-Chi and The Legend of The Ten Rings" and "Jungle Cruise", featuring Hollywood stars Dwayne Johnson and Emily Blunt, will both premiere on Disney+ Hotstar.

"Home Sweet Home Alone", a Disney+ Original and the sixth film in the "Home Alone" franchise, will also make its debut on November 12.

From National Geographic, the first five episodes from season two of "The World According to Jeff Goldblum" will drop on the streaming platform.

Among other projects, the company has set two specials -- one celebrating the origins and legacy of Star Wars' legendary bounty hunter, Boba Fett, and the other on the highly-successful Marvel Cinematic Universe with an exciting look towards the future.

Michael Keaton-led Hulu limited series "Dopesick", based on author Beth Macy's bestselling book of the same name, will finally be available for Disney+ Hotstar subscribers on Disney+ Day.

"The inaugural Disney+ Day will be a grand-scale celebration of our subscribers across the entire company," said Bob Chapek, Chief Executive Officer, The Walt Disney Company.

"This day of appreciation brings to life our mission to entertain, inform, and inspire fans and families around the globe through the power of unparalleled storytelling, and will become an annual tentpole event to be amplified across our global businesses," he added.

Jungle Cruise Disney+ Hotstar Release Date Set for November 12…

No word on a theatrical release date in India for The Rock and Emily Blunt movie.

Jungle Cruise — the Dwayne Johnson and Emily Blunt-led fantasy adventure movie — will release November 12 on Disney+ Hotstar, Gadgets 360 has learnt. The Disney movie is out now in cinemas worldwide and released Friday, July 30 on Disney+ Premier Access in most Disney+ markets. The latter involves a $30 (roughly Rs. 2,230) or equivalent fee on top of your Disney+ monthly subscription. But since Disney+ Premier Access is not an option on Disney+ Hotstar (that is also in Indonesia, Malaysia, and Thailand), Jungle Cruise will only be available in India once it leaves Premier Access — and that’s November 12. And while some Hollywood studios are releasing films in Indian cinemas now, Disney is content with sitting on the sidelines it seems.

The November 12  Disney+ Hotstar  release date for  Jungle Cruise  is curiously more than the standard three-month gap between  Disney+ Premier Access  and Disney+ Hotstar. In the past, Disney’s live-action reimagining of  Mulan  released  September 4  on Disney+ Premier Access, and then arrived  December 4  on Disney+ Hotstar. Its latest animated feature,  Raya and the Last Dragon , released  March 5  in Indian cinemas and on Disney+ Premier Access, and was made available  June 4  on Disney+ Hotstar. The Emma Stone-led  Cruella  premiered  May 28  on Disney+ Premier Access, and is now slated for  August 27  (as I’d predicted) on Disney+ Hotstar. It’s unclear why Disney is holding onto Jungle Cruise as a Premier Access title for two additional weeks than it otherwise does.

There’s an exception to the rule here:  Black Widow . The  Marvel  movie released July 9 on Disney+ Premier Access, and is  expected in August  on Disney+ Hotstar. But that’s only happening because the  Marvel Cinematic Universe  is huge in India. I don’t expect  Disney  to make that same exception for Jungle Cruise.

Johnson and Blunt respectively star as steamboat captain Frank “Skipper” Wolff and eccentric scientist Dr. Lily Houghton on Jungle Cruise, a World War I-era adventure into the Amazonian jungles to find the Tree of Life — the film is based on Disney’s theme park ride of the same name. Jungle Cruise also stars Jack Whitehall as Lily’s younger brother McGregor Houghton, Édgar Ramírez as the mercenary Aguirre leading a rival expedition, Jesse Plemons as deranged German aristocrat Prince Joachim, and Paul Giamatti as harbourmaster Nilo Nemolato. Veronica Falcón, Dani Rovira, Quim Gutiérrez, and Andy Nyman also have roles on Jungle Cruise.

Jaume Collet-Serra (The Shallows) is the director on Jungle Cruise, working off a screenplay written by Michael Green ( Logan ), Glenn Ficarra and John Requa (Focus). Johnson is also a producer on Jungle Cruise alongside John Davis, John Fox, Beau Flynn, Dany Garcia, and Hiram Garcia, with Scott Sheldon and Doug Merrifield serving as executive producers. Jungle Cruise is a production of Walt Disney Pictures, Davis Entertainment, Seven Bucks Productions, and Flynn Picture Company. The Disney movie was made on an estimated budget of $200 million (about Rs. 1,485 crores).

Jungle Cruise is out November 12 on Disney+ Hotstar, and Disney+ (without Premier Access). If you want to watch it now, you can spend Rs. 699 for a month of Disney+, Rs. 2,699 on Jungle Cruise ‘Premier Access,’ and a bit more on a VPN to watch it on Disney+.
