"Jurassic World Live Tour" is bringing dinosaurs and heroes and villains to the DCU Center April 14-16 for an adventure 65 million years in the making. In an all-new show for the whole family rooted within the Jurassic World franchise, male and female characters are faced with obstacles that are overcome through what are described as "pulse-pounding stunts and action-packed fight sequences that deliver edge-of-your-seat entertainment." Jurassic World’s production values include an unmistakable score combined with projection and practical scenery that transforms the arena into the dense jungles of Isla Nublar, where real Gyrospheres roll through the valley and scientists work to unravel a corrupt plan and save a new dinosaur from a terrible fate. "Jurassic World Live Tour" will feature more than 20 characters including dinosaurs such as the mighty T. Rex 40 feet in length, Blue the Raptor, Triceratops, Pteranodons and Baby Stegosaurus.

Blues Favorite

Texas guitar slinger, singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist Carolyn Wonderland is on tour to promote her Alligator Records debut album, "Tempting Fate," named the No. 7 Best Blues Album of 2021 by UK tastemaker publication Mojo. Wonderland, who comes to the Bull Run Restaurant in Shirley on April 14, was also awarded two top 2021-2022 Austin Music Awards for Best Guitarist and for Best Blues Artist. Wonderland has been performing professionally since age 15. Her music is a mix of original songs and reinventions of some of her favorites, ranging from electric blues to deep, heartfelt ballads to cosmic country to Tex-Mex. "Every song is fueled by Wonderland’s forceful yet melodic Texas-flavored guitar work and her full-throated, heart-on-her-sleeve vocals."

Silver Screen Survival

"Only In Theaters," directed by Raphael Sbarge, is an acclaimed new documentary about the Laemmle Theatres, a 84-year-old arthouse cinema chain in Los Angeles as they face seismic change and downward pressure. Yet the family behind this multigenerational business — whose sole mission has been to support the art of film — is determined to see it survive. Sbarge will be at a screening presented by cinema-worcester at 7 p.m. April 14 in the Park View Room.

'Hurricane' Weather

David Ramirez writes and sings expressively, and so when he declares "My Love is a Hurricane" you can believe it. The Austin Music Awards Songwriter of the Year Winner has evolved musically to embrace a number of different styles, from folk to gospel. A Week of Good Deeds

The Worcester JCC’s Good Deeds and Earth Week program from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. April 16 has numerous activities including drop-in projects such as build a birdhouse with a Home Depot kit, make no-sew fleece blankets to be donated to JHC Hospice, organize the JCC Preschool Library, garden cleanup and planting around the JCC, and help prepare a meal at Congregation Beth Israel to be delivered to a local shelter. You Say You Want a Revolution?

In 1775, Worcester had a visitor who signed his name John Hancock . He was fleeing the April 19 arrival of the British forces in Lexington and awaiting the arrival of fellow revolutionaries before they departed for the Second Continental Congress in Philadelphia. Hancock also had his trunk, called a "Box of Treason" for the documents it contained. The Worcester Historical Museum now has the trunk, minus the documents, and brings it out every year on Patriot's Day as John Hancock comes for a visit.

Jurassic Quest roars into downtown Worcester at DCU Center

WORCESTER, Mass. - It’s a dinosaur takeover at the DCU Center in downtown Worcester this weekend.

Jurassic Quest is giving kids and adults of all ages the chance to see and learn about dinosaurs. The event features a live interactive raptor show, dinosaur rides, a giant fossil dig, inflatables, and more.

Dinosaur trainer Caleb Hughes said people visiting will get to see dinosaurs from all different periods including a 55-foot megalodon. He added that people visiting Jurassic Quest for the first time usually have quite the reaction to these prehistoric creatures.

“Yes, I’ve got to say one of my favorite things about this job is hanging out near the pillars watching guests’ reactions from ‘Wow this is like a movie’ to ‘Wow this is the best day of my life,’” Hughes said. “it makes the job very rewarding”

The world-famous Jurassic Quest will finally land at the DCU Center on Fri. April 29 and stomp through Sun. May 1 for an up-close and one-of-a-kind experience guests will be sure to remember forever.  Jurassic Quest’s seasoned dinosaur trainer Dino Dustin, gives his insight in this exclusive Q&A.

What is Jurassic Quest?

Jurassic Quest is a traveling dinosaur exhibit that holds over 165-million-year-old replicated life-sized dinosaurs that move and roar! We set up the dinosaurs in scenes that reflect the habitat that paleontologist believe they lived in. Besides our exhibit, we have many fun educational activities and rides for children and families to enjoy. We are the largest exhibit of our kind! This is such a unique event you don’t want to miss, ESPECIALLY now with an interactive scavenger hunt called “The Quest!”

What are the most popular features found at this event?

Besides the fact we are the largest event of our kind, we have life-like baby dinosaurs that interact and play. The babies come out to visit sporadically throughout our event and are definitely one of the highlights of our exhibit. We also have walking dinosaurs that come out to roam with customers. They can be intimidating but our Dinosaur Trainer makes certain that they behave. You will also get a chance to learn some dinosaur training techniques yourself! You won’t be able to meet these dinosaurs anywhere but Jurassic Quest!

What is a special showcase in your upcoming event at the DCU Center? 

Our guest will be able to DIVE DEEP into the Ancient Oceans with Jurassic Quest! Guests will be transported back in time and under the sea into an immersive and interactive environment. This new Jurassic Quest exhibit (included with general admission) will feature gigantic, moving, water dwellers from the Jurassic, Cretaceous and Neogene Periods, including the ultimate apex predator of its time, the Megalodon!

How do kids react at this event?

Kids are in awe the moment they walk in! Their eyes light up when they see these towering creatures! It’s a thrilling experience for them to see these dinos move and roar.

How did you become a dinosaur trainer?

I was always fascinated by dinosaurs from a young age. Dinosaur movies had a big part of my interest into these amazing creatures. Learning about new discoveries online and visiting museums and seeing gigantic fossils in real life just propelled my love for them. When Jurassic Quest toured into my city, I jumped at the chance to work with their herd of dinosaurs!

What is your favorite thing about working at Jurassic Quest?

My favorite thing about working at Jurassic Quest is watching families making memories together that will be with them forever. It has been a tough couple of years for everyone and I am so happy to be a part of something that brings joy to families. Children will always remember the time they saw the dinosaurs. It’s very cool that we can be a catalyst for not only interest in education and science, but a reason for families to smile and be together to experience something new.

Ryan’s creations have won many awards and have been displayed all around the world. In 2019, Ryan took on the role of judge and LEGO expert on Australia’s award-winning TV show, LEGO Masters Australia, which just completed its 5th season – Grand Masters.

Five cities and three countries so far. Jurassic World by Brickman started in Melbourne, Australia in 2021. Since then, the show has travelled to Sydney (AUS), Perth (AUS), Norrköping (SWE), and Wellington (NZ).

Our life-size Brachiosaurus is not only the largest model within the exhibition but is also one of the largest LEGO sculptures ever made! Weighing well over 1.8 tonnes and made almost entirely with DUPLO® bricks, Brachiosaurs took 1477 hours and 171150 bricks to build.

Situated 120 miles (190 km) west of Costa Rica, Isla Nublar is home to the Dinosaurs of Jurassic World. This secluded (and sadly fictional) island was leased by InGen from the Costa Rican Government. At Jurassic World by Brickman, Isla Nublar has been brought to life through LEGO;  taking a total of 426 hours and 27,543 LEGO bricks to build, featuring dinosaurs, plants, and park attractions from the Jurassic franchise.   

Through a number of different ways. Sometimes it’s twice as much work to map something out on a computer, so we often draw and sketch our ideas. Others are meticulously planned out within an inch of their lives. The Baryonyx is over 4.8m long and made up of 102,317 bricks. It took 790 hours to put together. There’s a lot of work involved!

There are four different Mystery Mosaics visitors to Jurassic World by Brickman can help us build. Each of these mosaics was digitally designed first, then broken into small 6×6 LEGO® stud squares that our custom iPad app gives visitors instructions for. Each mosaic uses 124,416 1×1 LEGO bricks and, depending on the number of visitors doing them, these mosaics can take anywhere between four and 15 days to complete.

Very carefully on six semi-trailers, or six shipping containers for overseas travel! Obviously, you can’t transport a giant T Rex on a truck, so we deconstructed each model into large sections which we then put together again.

The Velociraptor ‘Blue’ was one of the more technically challenging builds within the exhibition. However, the engineering challenges are also what made ‘Blue’ Brickman’s favourite. It took 460 hours and 58,227 bricks to bring this iconic build to life, and Ryan and The Brickman team learnt more about raptors than they ever thought they would need to.

Of course, you will also learn more about the stories that once happened behind the thick walls of the Kremlin – from the Tsars and Napoleon to Stalin. Then we continue through the idyllic Alexander Garden.

«First acquaintance with Moscow» – a 2.5-hour city tour in the center of Moscow

This Moscow city tour starts on the Theater Square, past Lubyanka Square and the KGB-building, then through Kitay Gorod district and Varvarka Street, past the world-famous St. Basil’s Cathedral. Then it goes across Zarjadje Park, over Red Square at the Lenin Mausoleum, the GUM-department store and towards the Historical Museum. We walk through the Alexander Garden.

A 3.5-hour car/bus tour of Moscow.

This is the best tour of Moscow city as all the important sights are visited. I am your Moscow city guide who will walk you through the city explaining the charming history of the city. This tour begins with picking you up from the hotel. 3 breaks are offered for photographing.

First, we will visit the most famous riverside streets and bridges in the center of the city with the most beautiful views of the Kremlin and the Moskva River (e.g. the Kremlin embankment and the Great Stone Bridge).

The first photo break is made at the Cathedral of Christ the Savior. We then pass by the district with numerous museums, Prechistinka Street and the district with numerous medical areas.

We again stop at the Novodevichy Convent, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site on the other bank of the Moskva River to click pictures.

Then we visit “Sparrow Hills” where you can enjoy a bird’s eye view of the city of Moscow from the observation deck. Then there are the skyscrapers of Moscow-City, the Kutuzov avenue, the New Arbat, Tverskaya Street, the world-famous Bolshoi Theater, the KGB building and Varvarka Street. Here there are ample spots to click pictures.

We then drive past the Kremlin again and finally reach Red Square. We take a short tour of Red Square and say goodbye in the Alexander Garden.

Metro tour – daily

Palaces for ordinary people – that was what Stalin promised to the people when the construction of the Moscow Metro began between the World Wars. The communist dictator hadn’t promised too much. No other underground system in the world can boast such spectacular architecture – chandeliers, decorations, stucco, paintings on the walls – each station is individually designed. No wonder that Moscow residents love their metro. I will guide you through the bustle of one of the busiest subways in the world and show you the most beautiful stations Moscow city has.

After the Communist October Revolution in 1918, Moscow became the capital of the Soviet Empire and was the center of socialist orbit for more than 70 years. This left its mark on Moscow, even if the USSR disintegrated more than a quarter of a century ago. The city streets are full of remnants of the communist regime and the Cold War. This is a walking tour where I will show you the most exciting places in Soviet Moscow: from the notorious KGB headquarters, also known as Lubyanka to the Karl Marx Monument to small hidden remains from the time of hammer and sickle. You will also learn about Stalin’s Great Terror political campaign and the system of the GULAG and how the USSR, the communist Russian republic, became modern Russia.

Alternative Moscow Tour – daily

Kremlin tour – daily (closed on Thursday)

With its 20 towers and high walls, the Kremlin rises imposingly over Red Square. This world-famous fortress with its area of ​​28 hectares is home to over 800 years of Russian history. Described as the eighth wonder of the world, this historic fortress complex is the principal symbol of Russia that sits on the banks of the Moscow River. Today the Kremlin still harbors numerous secrets and has palaces and cathedrals, surrounded by Kremlin Wall. The current wall was constructed between the 15 th  and 16 th  centuries, but the original wall was made of wood around the year 1147. The Kremlin Wall became an important symbol of Moscow’s importance in the Russian Empire. This top tourist destination attracts millions of people every year and there are various sights to see. With my Kremlin tour, you will see the oldest square in the city in the heart of the Kremlin, the once largest cannon in the world and the scene of numerous dramas – from Ivan the Terrible and Napoleon to Stalin. You cannot miss this unique experience.

This tour runs every Friday and Saturday evening at 8 PM and you need to bring along your passport or an ID card, comfortable shoes, and wear smart casual clothes.

1.5-hour boat trip on the Moskva River.

Taking a boat tour in Moscow on the Moskva River is a very pleasant experience. It allows you to know the city from a totally different perspective and admire the beautiful bridges. A military tour – riding on tanks in Stupino (Moscow region)

Russian Military is one of the largest military forces in the world formed in 1992. With my Military Tour experience what it likes to be in the Russian military, shooting guns, ride the Tank T-34 and various models of German tanks from the Second World War, as well as armored personnel carriers and vehicles. You will also shoot from the AK-47 and another combat weapon.
