As the old saying goes: when you see a fork in the road, take it.

Well, the legendary prog rock band, Kansas, is doing just that. As the band approaches the 50th anniversary of their formation, they’ve decided to hit the road for a massive tour—Another Fork in the Road Tour.
The upcoming dates kick off this summer on June 2 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. However, the band is also set to play previously announced Kansas Classics gigs ahead of that start date. The 50th anniversary tour concludes on January 28, 2024, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
“Our entire career has been a winding journey,” said Kansas guitarist and founding member Richard Williams in a statement. “Whether it’s been the ‘original’ lineup signing with Don Kirshner, years on the bus, touring with Queen, worldwide success peaking with Leftoverture and Point of Know Return , the valleys of the ’90s and ‘dinosaur bands’ losing steam, various lineup changes, to our most recent ‘rebirth’ and success of our latest new music over the last eight years; there have been several forks in the road of that journey.”
The band recently released a new triple-disc collection, Another Fork in the Road—50 Years of Kansas , available HERE .
“I’m incredibly excited about the 50th anniversary,” said lead vocalist Ronnie Platt. “I tell people I’m not allowed to create a setlist, because it would be five hours long. There are so many songs I want to perform live. I think fans will be excited not only to hear our hits and fan favorites spanning 50 years of Kansas but also some songs that haven’t been performed live in decades.”
Pre-sale for the tour begins Wednesday (January 25) via Ticketmaster at 10 a.m. local time using the code SOUND. General ticket sales begin on Friday (January 27). Tickets are also available via StubHub .

Kansas Extends 50th Anniversary Tour Again With 23 More Shows
Kansas is still carrying on despite Phil Ehart's recent health setback . Their 50th-anniversary tour has been extended again with 23 more concerts.
A complete list of the new shows is below. Additional stops include Las Vegas and Austin; Kansas is also returning to Pittsburgh. Tickets for most concerts go on sale Friday at 10AM local time. Select pre-sales begin on Wednesday. For more information, head over to Kansas' official website .
"The 50th-anniversary tour started in 2023, which commemorates Kansas's first year as a band. It is continuing in 2024, which commemorates the release of the first Kansas album," longtime guitarist Rich Williams said in an official statement. "After such a successful and sold-out premiere of the tour in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, we wanted to put an exclamation point on the tour by having the closing 50th-anniversary tour concert take place back there at the Benedum Center.”

The group originally added more dates to the Another Fork in the Road tour last September . Then Kansas revealed in February that Ehart, their co-founding drummer, would be taking some time off after suffering a heart attack. His role is being filled by Eric Holmquist, who was already performing during the first half of these shows.
A 3CD career-spanning collection was released in conjunction with the tour. Another Fork in the Road: 50 Years of Kansas features an update of 1974's "Can I Tell You," performed by the current lineup. "The audiences for this 50th anniversary tour have been exhilarating,” lead vocalist Ronnie Platt added. "Let me tell you, after a decade of performing in the band, the energy the fans bring each night continues to give me goosebumps."

Kansas Announce 2023-2024 North American 50th Anniversary Tour
The post Kansas Announce 2023-2024 North American 50th Anniversary Tour appeared first on Consequence .
Progressive rock legends Kansas have announced a massive North American tour celebrating their 50th anniversary as a band.
The “Another Fork in the Road” 50th anniversary tour begins in June (though the band will play select previously announced “Kansas Classics” shows in the months prior). The newly revealed dates kick off June 2nd in Pittsburgh and wrap up January 28th, 2024, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
A Ticketmaster pre-sale begins Wednesday (January 25th) at 10 a.m. local time, using the code SOUND , while tickets go on sale to the general public on Friday (January 27th). Alternatively, you can also pick up tickets via StubHub .
“Our entire career has been a winding journey,” said Kansas guitarist and founding member Richard Williams.

“I’m incredibly excited about the 50th anniversary,” added lead vocalist Ronnie Platt. “I tell people I’m not allowed to create a setlist, because it would be five hours long. There are so many songs I want to perform live. I think fans will be excited not only to hear our hits and fan favorites spanning 50 years of Kansas, but also some songs that haven’t been performed live in decades.”

"This tour has already been incredibly special for the band. The 50th-anniversary tour started in 2023 which commemorates KANSAS 's first year as a band. It is continuing in 2024 which commemorates the release of the first KANSAS album," comments KANSAS guitarist and original member Richard Williams . "There are so many places in the U.S. where we haven't been able to play yet, Topeka and Wichita just to name two, we knew we would have to add a third and final leg to the tour. After such a successful and sold-out premiere of the tour in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, we wanted to put an exclamation point on the tour by having the closing 50th-anniversary tour concert take place back there at the Benedum Center."
In a tribute to the band's five decades of success, Billboard magazine describes the basis for their longstanding appeal: "Blending blues-based hard rock and intricate progressive constructions, KANSAS staked out its own musical territory, at once original and accessible."
"The audiences for this 50th-anniversary tour have been exhilarating," adds KANSAS lead vocalist Ronnie Platt . "Let me tell you, after a decade of performing in the band, the energy the fans bring each night continues to give me goosebumps. Fans in attendance seem to continue to raise their energy level and that just makes it even more fun for us up on stage than it already is!"
"As in life, our entire career has been a winding journey," adds original guitarist Richard Williams . "Whether it's been the 'original' lineup signing with Don Kirshner , years on the bus, touring with QUEEN , and finally worldwide success peaking with 'Leftoverture' and 'Point Of Know Return' ." Williams goes on to remember, "That was followed by various lineup changes, the valleys of the '90s and 'dinosaur bands' losing steam, to our most recent 'rebirth' and success of our latest new music over the last decade." Williams concludes, "There have been and continue to be several forks in the road of that journey. This 50th-anniversary tour and release represent that journey and the forks along that road."
To further celebrate the band's 50th anniversary, InsideOut Music has released "Another Fork In The Road - 50 Years Of Kansas" . The 3-CD career-spanning collection features carefully selected tracks from across KANSAS 's sizable discography. It also includes a new version of the song "Can I Tell You" . Originally released on their 1974 debut album, the song is updated by the current lineup.
KANSAS boasts a lineup including original guitarist Richard Williams, bassist and vocalist Billy Greer , lead vocalist and keyboardist Ronnie Platt , keyboardist and vocalist Tom Brislin , violinist and guitarist Joe Deninzon , and original drummer Phil Ehart . Drummer Eric Holmquist is performing on drums while Phil Ehart continues to recover from a major heart attack.

It was 1976; my first year out of college & teaching school in Waco, TX. My landlords living next door had taken in their grandson who was a bit of rebel. They asked if he could come over and visit us because he had heard the music we were playing (loud) & had some albums he wanted to share with us. That's how I found out about KANSAS & I was blown away! Soon we heard on the super rock station KZEW "The Zoo" that Jethro Tull was coming to Dallas Memorial with the "new" band Kansas opening for them. We got tickets & with the rockin'grandson in tow, we had an eye & ear opening experience. I had been a music major for 2 yrs in college & knew great musicianship. I couldn't believe the sounds & the syncopations so precise and hammering a beat that had us wanting Kansas to never stop playing. Jethro Tull was wonderful too as I was a flute player but the sounds of Kansas never left me. I plan on making this 50th anniversary show in Dallas! (Wonder what happened to that lil rebel grandson? Maybe I'll see him there!)

I worked at Grandmother’s in Topeka, Ks. and Kansas played there quite often. Those were the good old days when everyone packed in to hear them play. They always put on such incredible concerts and we Kansans enjoyed them so very much. I live in Florida now and when I tell people I worked where they played sometimes I don’t think they believe me. The building is now a restaurant called Blind Tiger and they have some memories of Kansas behind glass. Great memories.....
Kansas put out some energy, the crowd received it and Kansas responded by playing progressive. The fans were rewarded and well feelings were mutual.
Saw them just about 2 years ago and they were very impressive too at the State Theatre in Kalamazoo. They were on point and sounded like studio versions
but at the same venue here the hard working gents put forth extra effort.
Kansas is a good band. In 1978 I saw them for the first time and I hope to see them again. Good job.

Taylor Swift Eras Tour schedule: How 2024 tour dates compare to Chiefs schedule
The NFL’s top power couple is making its long-awaited return to the field in 2024.
Travis Kelce’s courtship of Taylor Swift captivated some and riled up others. In the end, it was one of the most talked-about elements of the 2023 NFL season. And its impact wore on from the first quarter of the year to the last — ending with Kelce, Swift, and their families celebrating a Super Bowl win.
Only time will tell if such a result will greet the pairing come the end of the 2024 season. Nevertheless, people will be tuned in, hoping to see if there is additional overlap between the couple’s seemingly mutually exclusive lifestyles.
Kelce and Swift are global superstars. They’ll each have a chance to showcase their talents to their wider audiences in 2024: Kelce via his exploits with the Chiefs; Swift with her highly-touted Eras Tour.
Could either partner feature at their significant other’s showcases come 2024? Find out below as The Sporting News examines Kelce's and Swift’s respective schedules.

Taylor Swift Eras Tour schedule
Swift will take her talents across the United States during the fall, setting up shop in Miami, New Orleans, and Indianapolis from Oct. 18-Nov. 3. She then heads to the Great White North, performing in Toronto and Vancouver during the tail end of the year.
Most of Swift's international travel will have receded into the background by then — she'll have completed her journeys to other continents when she performs at Miami's Hard Rock Stadium.

Although it looks like a menacing set of matchups, there is some good news for those hoping to see Kelce and Swift out in public. Swift's tour schedule is littered with a few week-long breaks — perhaps enough time to see her beloved Kelce in action. Either way, since she'll be in North America, it's entirely possible she can get away as needed as long as she doesn't have a concert on Kelce's game day.
Here's a look at Swift's Eras Tour schedule at the end of 2024.
Kansas City Chiefs schedule 2024
While we don't know the Chiefs entire schedule yet (we'll update when we do), Swift will easily be able to attend Chiefs' games through at least Week 6. Weeks 7-9 are out if the Chiefs have a game on Sunday, but they're in play if Kansas City has Thursday or Monday night games. The same goes for Week 11 and Week 14.
Bottom line: Expect to see plenty of shots of Swift on your TV screen at NFL games again in 2024 — whether you like it or not.
Here's what the Chiefs' 2024 slate looks like.

Kansas City Chiefs Announce Date of 1st 2024 NFL Season Home Game: Can Taylor Swift Attend?
As Taylor Swift continues to take The Eras Tour across the world, Travis Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs have their own stadium dates set for the upcoming NFL season.
The football league announced on Monday, May 13, that the Chiefs will kick off the 2024 NFL season by facing off against the Baltimore Ravens on Thursday, September 5. The game will mark a rematch between the two teams as the Chiefs beat the Ravens at the AFC Championship in January to go on to Super Bowl LVIII. The team ultimately earned their second consecutive Super Bowl win against the San Francisco 49ers. (Both games were attended by Swift, 34, who has been dating Kelce , also 34, since last summer.)
“Lamar vs. Mahomes to kick off the 2024 season 👀🔥,” the NFL tweeted on Monday, referring to the Ravens and Chiefs respective quarterbacks Lamar Jackson and Patrick Mahomes .
The season opener is scheduled amid Swift’s ongoing Eras Tour , which is set to make more stops across Europe and Canada through December 8. Given that Kelce, recently extended his contract with the Chiefs to play through the end of the 2027 season, fans are wondering whether Swift will be there to support her boyfriend at his first game of the season.

According to Swift’s official website , Swift will wrap up the European leg of her tour in London in August and take a few weeks off before beginning performances in the U.S. in October and Canada in November. The Grammy winner currently has no Eras Tour shows scheduled for September, meaning she could be free to cheer on Kelce at Arrowhead Stadium.
The Chiefs’ home stadium marked the beginning of Swift and Kelce’s relationship as the athlete attempted to give her a friendship bracelet with his number on it at one of her July 2023 Kansas City Eras Tour shows.
The two eventually connected after Kelce discussed the failed flirting attempt on his and brother Jason Kelce ’s “New Heights” podcast , and they were officially a couple before Swift attended her first Chiefs game in September 2023.
“We actually had a significant amount of time that no one knew, which I’m grateful for, because we got to know each other,” Swift revealed in her December 2023 TIME Person of the Year cover story . “By the time I went to that first game, we were a couple. I think some people think that they saw our first date at that game? We would never be psychotic enough to hard launch a first date.”

Just as Swift continued to support Kelce at his NFL games, Kelce has been spotted in the audience of many of her Eras Tour concerts.

He traveled to Paris earlier this week for the last of Swift’s tour shows in France. The Sunday, May 12, concert marked Swift’s 87th show thus far, the same number as Kelce’s Chiefs jersey. Kelce was spotted singing and dancing along to several of her songs, most notably “So High School” from The Tortured Poets Department , which is rumored to be inspired by him .
Swift seemingly gave Kelce a shout-out by sporting the Chiefs’ red and yellow colors during the show’s 1989 and Evermore sets. She also performed another TTPD song speculated to be about Kelce, “The Alchemy,” as one of her two surprise songs.

It looks like the Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs will have the shortest offseason of any NFL team this coming year.
On Thursday, Sept. 5, Patrick Mahomes and co. are scheduled to kick off the 2024 regular season against Lamar Jackson’s Baltimore Ravens at their home Arrowhead Stadium.
The last time the teams met was in the 2024 AFC Championship game where Kansas City eked out a 17-10 victory behind eventual Super Bowl MVP Patrick Mahomes’ 30-for-39 passing and 241 yards; his only touchdown pass in the contest was caught by tight end Travis Kelce.
Two weeks later, the Chiefs beat the San Francisco 49ers in Las Vegas to win their second consecutive Super Bowl.
And if you want to be there to catch the defending NFL champions begin their march toward an unprecedented third Super Bowl in a row, tickets are available to see the Chiefs take on the Ravens in their first game of the season as soon as today.
At the time of publication, the lowest price we could find on tickets was $306 before fees on Vivid Seats.
100-level seats start at $469 before fees .
For those that can’t make it to the Week 1 showdown, the Chiefs have a number of other big games at home this season. They’re also slated to face the Saints , Buccaneers and Texans on their own turf.
Dates for those games will become available when the NFL officially releases their 2024 schedule on Wednesday, May 15.
All prices listed above are subject to fluctuation.

2024 NFL schedule: Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs to host Bengals in Week 2 on CBS
We now know kansas city's first two games of the season.
The 2024 NFL schedule is set to be released this Wednesday evening at 8 p.m. ET, but certain matchups and tidbits have leaked out prior to the official announcement. For example, we know the Kansas City Chiefs will host the Baltimore Ravens in the season opener. Now, we know the Chiefs' Week 2 opponent.
On Tuesday's CBS Mornings program, former Steelers coach and current NFL Today analyst Bill Cowher announced that the Chiefs will host Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 2 on Sept. 15. It will be the fifth installment of this epic rivalry between Burrow and Patrick Mahomes . The Chiefs are 0-2 vs. the Bengals in the regular season when both Burrow and Mahomes start, and 1-1 in the playoffs. Cincinnati did play Kansas City last year on New Year's Eve, but Jake Browning was under center for an injured Burrow. The Bengals fell to the Chiefs in Arrowhead, 25-17.
Another chapter in the rivalry in Week 2... @Bengals @Chiefs pic.twitter.com/IhD3d5iEB0 — NFL on CBS 🏈 (@NFLonCBS) May 14, 2024
The last meeting between Burrow and Mahomes took place in the 2023 AFC Championship game, where Kansas City defeated Cincinnati, 23-20, thanks to a 45-yard game-winning field goal from Harrison Butker . Mahomes threw for 326 yards and two touchdowns in the victory, while Burrow threw for 270 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions. Marquez Valdes-Scantling was the game's leading receiver, as the current free agent caught six passes for 116 yards and one touchdown.
The reigning Super Bowl champions have a tough start to the 2024 season, kicking it off against two AFC rivals that are both contenders in back-to-back weeks. However, at least Andy Reid and Co. do get these games at home. For everything to know about the 2024 NFL schedule release, click here.
