Long Travel Kit

 Description

The Dirt King long travel kit was developed to drastically improve the vehicles off-road handling without compromising its day to day driving characteristics. This suspension system allows for 13.5” of travel and accepts up to a 35” tire. The kit is compatible with 2WD models and 4WD models along with the purchase of extended axle shafts. Our upper and lower arms are designed with 1” stainless steel uniballs for the outer pivots instead of ball joints for strength and increased articulation. Compared to the competition we’ve gained several inches of ground clearance by mounting the lower arms in the factory location instead of below it. This kit is CAD designed, thoroughly tested, and 100% made in America resulting in a product we’re proud to put our name on!

4WD To achieve the full amount of travel on 4WD models you must install the 1” diff drop kit and machine the inner CV’s for more articulation. We offer several services for machining CV’s and complete axle assembly   Click here  to view the services we offer and additional information on CV machining.

Shocks For the best performance and to achieve the full amount of travel you must purchase our spec built shocks or have them custom built based on our coil over spec sheet. You may also use Tacoma OEM replacement coil overs (King, Fox, Icon) with 600lb springs and 1.5” wide lower eyelet spacers with ½” mounting holes. These shocks will work but limit the amount of wheel travel. The OEM replacement coil overs include reservoir mounts that may not be compatible with our double shear kit option. Our long travel kit is also tabbed to accommodate bypass shocks.  The bypass shocks will allow for superior suspension dampening and tunability. To mount the bypasses we offer a weld on bypass shock hoop kit (DK-811910) that can be purchased separately. The bypass shock hoop kit requires welding and modifications to the frame. For extreme off-roading the kit has the ability to accept bump stops along with the coil overs and bypasses. The use of bump stops will alsorequire welding and modifications to the frame.

Wheel Travel When shopping long travel kits many consumers tend to focus just on travel numbers. This is the reason many companies claim inaccurate numbers or don’t disclose the amount of work involved to achieve these numbers. Our goal is to build a suspension system with the highest amount of wheel travel without requiring major modifications to the vehicle or compromising its overall drivability.

Tire Info When using 35” tires with this kit modifications to the wheel well will need to be made. The firewall pinch weld will need to be folded over and front cab mount needs to be shaved to avoid contact while turning. The upper wheel well will also need to be modified to avoid contact at full bump.

Shipping & Delivery Dirt King ships their products within the United States and Internationally. Most products ship via UPS or USPS. Orders that exceed $500 require a signature confirmation. On bulk orders contact Dirt King for a freight quote. The customer is responsible for import taxes and fees on international shipments.

Damaged or Missing Parts In an instance where you receive a damaged package a claim must be made with Dirt King. The claim can be submitted by sending an email to [email protected] containing photos of the damaged packages and damaged products. The email must also include your order number as well. Do not discard any of the original packaging or try installing the products.

While every precaution is taken there could be a case where you are missing parts. If this happens please send an email to [email protected] with your order number, list of missing parts, photo of the package or packages, and a photo of the quality control tag located on the back of the box.

If the shipping carrier losses your package please contact Dirt King. A claim will be filled with the shipping carrier. Unfortunately, we do not have much control over this situation and must wait for the carrier to process the claim.

Freight Shipping The customer must contact Dirt King to arrange for freight shipping. Dirt King will palletize the order and the customer can deal directly with the freight carrier if preferred. The shipment can be delivered to a home or business. The customer must be present for the delivery to inspect and sign for the package. Before signing confirm that you received all items listed on the packing slip and nothing is damaged. If you receive damaged parts or are missing parts leave a note on the bill of landing and sign it. Make sure the driver is aware of the situation and signs your copy of the bill of landing with the noted damages or missing parts. Once you have taken possession of the package file a claim with Dirt King by sending an email to [email protected]. Please include your order number, copy of your bill of landing, and photos of the damaged items or list of missing parts. Do not discard any of the original packaging or try installing the products. Dirt King will do everything possible to resolve the issue as quickly as possible.

• Returns are only accepted within 30 days.
• Product must have been purchased from us and not a dealer.
• A 3% processing fee is deducted from all refunds.
• On shipped orders   a 7% restocking fee and a  3% processing fee is deducted from all refunds.
• Products such as bumpers, hitches, and bed cages that have optional powder coat added are subject to a 7% restocking fee and a 3% processing fee. If the order is canceled before the product is powder coated then the 7% restocking fee can be waived.
• On shipped orders we are not responsible for return shipping or refunding the original shipping amount.
• Parts must be returned in the original package and condition as they were sent.
• No returns on items that have been damaged or installed.
• Refund will be issued once the parts have been received and inspected.
• Custom products are non refundable.
• Crypto orders will be refunded the same coin amount that was paid originally.

2016+ Toyota Tacoma Long Travel Kit

Following the success of our original Tacoma Long Travel Kit All-Pro Off-Road is proud to reveal our High Clearance Long Travel Suspension kit for the 3rd Generation Tacoma!

Engineered to get 12” of wheel travel while extending the track width by 2” per side, this new Long Travel Kit has been completely redesigned to give you an additional 2 inches of ground clearance. Our long travel kit features 4130 Chromoly tubular upper and lower control arms. The Lower Control Arms (LCAs) are boxed for maximum strength and plated for extreme durability. An integrated skid plate gives All-Pro Control Arms unbeatable skid protection on the trail. Our LCAs also feature a 1” uniball that replaces the weak factory lower ball joint.

The 2” wider Upper Control Arms (UCAs) feature an industry leading 1.25” uniball for maximum articulation and vertical travel. The uniball is adapted to fit to the factory spindle using heat-treated 17-4 Stainless Steel misalignment spacers. All four control arms, upper and lower, pivot on polyurethane bushings and have built in zerk fittings for easy maintenance.

From rocks to sand and everything in between, this long travel kit goes anywhere without sacrificing comfort, quality, and performance. Our lift kits are born and developed on some of the hardest trails around, including the Hammers, Rubicon, and Moab, the All-Pro LT kit is built tough!

Additional Parts Recommended for Installation:

Chromoly Axle Shafts (not included)

Our extended heat-treated 4340 chromoly axle shafts, made by Currie Enterprises, are required for 4×4 applications. They are inserted into the factory inner and outer CVs to retain 4WD. These are not included in the kit and must be purchased separately. Please contact our sales staff if you have questions before ordering.

Timbren Bumpstops (not included)

All-Pro has teamed up with Timbren SES to offer an upgraded bumpstop for use with our LT kit, or even stock. They are made of a softer compound than their usual options which are specifically designed for increased weight carrying capacity. Timbren Bumpstops provide a smoother stop than the factory bumpstop without needlessly limiting travel. Recommended for 33”+ tires. These are not included in the kit and must be purchased separately.

Long Travel Shocks (not included)

Long Travel Shocks are required for our Long Travel Kit.  For best results, we recommend Fox 2.5 Factory Series Remote Reservoir Long Travel Coilover Shocks or the Fox 2.5 Factory Series Remote Reservoir Long Travel Coilover Shocks with DSC Adjustment.

All products carry our 12 Month Limited Warranty. All warranties are limited to the original purchaser and are not transferable to subsequent owners of the product. The warranty period begins on the purchase date. Trail-Gear warrants that it will repair or replace, free of charge, any eligible product which, under normal conditions of use and service, proves to be defective in materials or workmanship. This warranty does not cover any labor costs incurred in diagnosis of defects, removal or reinstallation of a product, nor does it cover any other consequential expenses.

Warranty Exclusions

Trail-Gear Inc. warranty does not cover, and Trail-Gear Inc. shall not be liable for, any undertaking, representation, or agreements made by dealers or other third parties selling Trail-Gear products, except where such agreements are within the provisions of this Warranty.

Specifically excluded from this warranty are failures caused by lack of maintenance, misuse, negligence, modification, abuse, improper application, crash damage, installation or operation, or failures caused by unauthorized service or use of unauthorized parts.

Additionally excluded from this warranty are parts which are subject to normal wear and tear, such as bushings, fluids, hoses, gaskets, belts, etc. Products not manufactured by Trail-Gear Inc. are excluded from any warranty and shall be handled with the original manufacturer.

All parts used in a competitive racing environment are excluded from this warranty. If, after inspection, a part returned, under any warranty, is deemed to be ineligible for warranty repair or replacement, the part may be repaired or replaced for a discounted cost. Return shipping charges will apply. Any part for which a warranty replacement is sought must be returned to Trail-Gear Inc. before any replacement items can be shipped. All replacement parts shipped before the suspect part has been received and evaluated by Trail-Gear, MUST BE PAID IN FULL. In such a case, after the suspect part has been received and approved for a warranty replacement, the purchase price for the replacement will be refunded.

• Please include a short note stating the problem you are experiencing.

If any of the above mentioned policy is not met, the package will be refused or warranty claim denied. By completing the steps above, this will ensure faster processing of your claim so that Trail-Gear can get your product back to you as quickly as possible. All warranties are generally processed within 2-3 business days of Trail-Gear receiving the parts from you. Additional delays may be incurred if product needs additional testing or repairing.

International customers may have the option to field destroy an approved warranty to avoid costly return shipping. Stew blew the OV Turbos sometime in Fall 2020 Winter 2021. The truck has been gutted and MIA since that time. Funny to see this article come out in 2023

The TTB build is almost wrapped up. I’ve been watching it closely down at Stellar and it’s currently stuffing 40s. Freaking insane. Wait until you see what’ Stew did to it. It’s pretty gnarly.

1st Gen Tacoma Long Travel Suspension

At 4.5” wider per side and 1” forward for extra firewall clearance, this kit allows up to 15” of useable wheel travel. Weak upper balljoints are replaced by 1” FK uniballs, and stock rubber bushings are replaced by durable polyurethane  or optional heims  for alignment adjustability .

For 4WD kits, we build custom CV axles with heat treated 300m axle shafts and machined / rebuilt / rebooted OEM CV joints for added articulation and strength. Axles come completely assembled and ready to bolt on.

Kit includes: boxed upper and lower control arms with Energy poly bushings, tie rod extensions, extended steel braided brake lines (replaces hard and soft sections of stock lines), spindle to upper uniball adapters, and custom coilover top brackets. Arms come raw or powdercoated gunmetal grey.  Adjustable upper arms equipped with FK heims available as an option.

When we designed our spring-under kit for the 2005-2023 Toyota Tacoma’s we wanted to take the guess work out and make a kit that’s easier to install. We did this by designing the front and rear spring hangers to bolt to the frame using the existing holes used by the factory mounts that are riveted on. Our mounts are considerably stronger than weld-on versions and we incorporated tabbing on the rear mounts for a x-member or fuel cell cradle for even more strength.

We spent a lot of time with Deaver Spring designing leaf springs for optimum wheel travel and performance. We offer two different springs based on how you’re building your truck. We offer a “prerunner” and a “race” spring setup based on the load capacity needed. One spring doesn’t work for everyone.

This race and BITD 7100 class championship winning kit has been used over the years on serious prerunners and race trucks in the deserts of California and as far as the Dakar rally. A limited travel variation of this kit was also used on the 2017 Tacoma we raced in the 2017 Mint 400 in the 7300 class.

This suspension kit is for the serious builder/enthusiast  and is intended to be used with a bed cage and 2.5-3.0 x 16-18″ travel shocks through the bed along with FOX or King bump stops. Their is quite a bit of work involved with installing these parts and is not an entry level install.

Rear Long Travel Kit for a 2005+ Toyota Tacoma with tuned King 2.5 Remote Reservoir Shocks. Combined with a front Long Travel Kit, this will provide a complete long travel suspension system for your Tacoma. This kit comes with 14″ travel King Shocks with a Deaver N98 leaf pack as a spring over axle setup.

Tuning Options

Street Tune  - For smooth on-road and off-road use. NO TOWING/Heavy Loads without adjusters on the shocks. This is our most popular tune for those wanting a smooth ride for mainly street, with some off-road. HD Street Tune  - For vehicles with taller lifts or carrying heavy loads without adjusters. Moderate off-road use. Trail Tune  - For vehicles wanting to drive faster off-road or needing better handling. Great for a more dedicated off-road vehicle. Tuning Options from AccuTune Offroad are based on several factors including the vehicles weight, terrain preference and driving style. The Street Tune, HD Street and Trail Tune provide us with a starting point, and from there we fine tune the valving accordingly. Each shock is custom tuned specific to your vehicle based on the information you provide us. Tuning stages start at Street Tune and go up to Trail Tune. Each step up in stage will stiffen the valving resulting in better handling, better off-road capability, and better bottoming control at the expense of comfort, especially on the street. Bigger tires and lower air pressures can compensate for the stiffer valving.

King 2.5 Shocks with 14" Travel

For a rear long travel suspension, a 2.5 diameter shock is a great option. Larger diameter shock will help with dampening and heat dissipation while the 14 inches of travel provides plenty of travel for high speed desert driving. Simplify tuning and maximize performance with King 2.5 Smoothie Shock Compression Adjusters. These adjusters don't just make tuning simple, they also improve performance. As the compression adjuster increases damping it also prevents the King 2.5 Smoothie Shock from cavitating. Dial in the performance you desire with Compression Adjusters for 2.5 King Smoothie Shocks.

Spring Over Axle with Deaver N98 Springs

Spring over axle provides a simple solution to a rear long travel kit. The Deaver N98 spring has proven to be a great spring to use for a variety of driving applications. Custom tuned shock with Deaver N98 spring will provide great handling both on and offroad.

Long Travel Shock Mounts & Shackles

Archive Garage shock relocation bracket is perfect for fitting a 14" travel shock on the rear of a Tacoma, while keeping the shocks under the bed. Archive Garage Hammer Hangers and shackles are used to allow the suspension to cycle a full 14 inches of travel.
