Britain & Ireland Tours
Why not add England and Scotland to your Irish tour experience? A once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to compare and contrast these unique but interconnected cultures. Experience a rich and overlapping history, told from three singular perspectives. Three distinct outlooks, three separate national identities — one friendly welcome. Compare the royalty and pageantry of London with the very different majesty you will find in the rolling glens, lochs and highlands of Scotland. Of course, we think that Ireland holds the crown, with a landscape, a culture and a heritage that puts the Emerald Isle among the jewels of all European travel.
Customize your own tour
Looking for something truly unique? Why not arrange a bespoke private tour exclusively for you and your group? Our private tours can be customized to suit any group size, from two guests to a party of 100 or more. We will work with you to create the perfect tour itinerary for your group, taking away all the stress and leaving you with an unforgettable vacation experience that works for everyone. Certain destinations you want to visit? We can make it happen. Want to stay in a castle or on a working farm? Just say the word.
Stay in real castles
Experience the rich history of Ireland first-hand when you stay in some of the Emerald Isle's most enchanting castles and stately manors. That's right — with our Irish castle tours, you not only visit real Irish castles, you get to stay overnight in them, too. Choose from four castle tour vacation packages , crafted for you by our Irish-born team of tour experts. Whichever tour you choose, you can expect to live like nobility for the duration of your time with us here in Ireland.
Our small groups guarantee Never more than 26 guests per tour
We always keep our tour group sizes small. That's because we want every guest to get the comfort, space and service they deserve. Although many other companies squeeze in groups of up to 50, even the largest of our tour packages are strictly limited to just 26 guests. That leaves empty seats on the coaches. So why do we limit our tours to such small group sizes? Here are six reasons.
Superior Service
Guests consistently list our small group sizes as a top reason why they would book with us again. See our reviews...
More focus on you
With a smaller group, our tour guides have more time to get to know you and your interests.
We deliberately leave empty seats on our coaches, so you can relax and spread out.
Experience each attraction up-close and personal, with more time to ask questions and see what interests you.
Speedier Check-Ins
Compared with many of our rivals, our smaller group sizes make checking in and out of the hotels a breeze.
More Relaxed Pace
Experience Ireland at your own pace. No rushing to keep up and no waiting around for large groups to assemble.

Billie Eilish’s third studio album “ Hit Me Hard and Soft ” doesn’t officially release until Friday but you can already purchase the 10-track LP on vinyl starting today.
Eilish previewed her forthcoming album at listening events in both New York and Los Angeles this week. On Wednesday, May 15 she and Finneas played the album for nearly 18,000 fans at New York City’s Barclays Center. On Thursday, May 16, she’ll do the same at Los Angeles’ Kia Forum at a listening event hosted by Snapchat.
Popular on Variety
As usual, the album was written by Eilish and her brother and musical collaborator Finneas, who also produced the album.
The album will be available on all digital platforms, and, reflecting Eilish’s recent comments about the environmental wastefulness of physical product such as vinyl, adds, “In a continued effort to minimize waste and combat climate change; across all physical formats in limited variants on the same day, with the same track-listing and using 100% recyclable materials.”
As of right now, there are three versions of the album on vinyl, in limited quantities.
And once you listen to the album, and decide you need to see her perform the new songs live? In September 2024, Eilish will embark on her North American leg of the “Hit Me Hard and Soft” tour, which will run through the end of December 2024. The tour will continue in Australia starting February 2025 ahead of her European, U.K., and Ireland arena dates starting in April until late July.
Tickets are available on sites such as Stubhub , Vivid Seats , SeatGeek and Ticketmaster . In the meantime, purchase “Hit Me Hard and Soft” on vinyl below:

Podcasters as TV Heroes? We’re All Ears
Why have podcasters emerged as the rumpled protagonists of numerous television shows? We’ll discuss after the break.
- Share full article
By Alexis Soloski
Gilbert Power, a public radio veteran and the host of the podcast “On Record,” went to a small town in Ireland to make a show about a 20-year-old missing-persons case. The podcast, he explained, was meant to be “a bit of fun, something to listen to on your drive home. I didn’t understand then how much power a story actually has. But stories can change us.”
Gilbert, played by a grinning Will Forte, is the lightly inane hero of “Bodkin,” a seven-episode series that premiered last week on Netflix. And as the fictional host of a fictional podcast, he has plenty of onscreen competition.
In the past five years, podcasters have emerged as the rumpled protagonists of numerous television shows ( “Based on a True Story,” “Truth Be Told,” “Only Murders in the Building,” “Alex Inc.”) and films (“C’mon C’mon,” “Vengeance,” “Monolith,” “Bros”). Even the trendsetting Carrie Bradshaw was onboard; in “And Just Like That…,” she moved from print journalism to the advice podcast “X, Y and Me,” before going solo.
Some of these works are comedies, some dramas. Many of them involve one or more mysteries in homage to or parody of true-crime podcasting. In these shows and movies, podcasters fill the roles once occupied by journalists or amateur sleuths, as tyros desperate for answers. These protagonists are often bumbling, and their relationship to ethics is distinctly off-and-on.
But characters like these help fulfill a very particular fantasy: that we can tell the truth while also telling a good, possibly even powerful, story. And maybe land a mattress sponsorship while we’re at it.
Jez Scharf, the creator of “Bodkin,” dreamed up the show after several work trips to Ireland. (He and Alex Metcalf are the showrunners.) Scharf, who was raised in England, felt awkward in Ireland, an outsider. He was listening to a lot of podcasts at the time, especially true crime — “S Town,” “Serial,” “West Cork.” The democratization of the internet meant that anyone with access to a phone could make a podcast. What would it be like, he wondered, for an outsider to show up in a strange place and question people about their most traumatic experiences?
“I found that idea broadly quite absurd and an interesting means of making a slightly different detective show,” he said during a recent video call.
Podcasters are of course not the only people with a tendency to arrive and ask difficult questions. Journalists do that, too; “Bodkin” saddles Gilbert with one of them, Dove, a Guardian reporter played by Siobhan Cullen. But not all podcasters are journalists, and not all podcasters feel bound to journalistic ethics.
Metcalf said: “We were really conscious of the relationship between what journalism should be — after the truth, ‘just the facts, ma’am’ — and this burgeoning world of proto-journalism, done by anybody who happens to have a microphone.”
Even actual journalists can find podcasting liberating. Rebecca Jarvis, an ABC News correspondent and the host of the podcasts “No Limits With Rebecca Jarvis” and “The Dropout,” said that while traditional journalism has traditions and rules, podcasting offers new freedoms. “It can feel a little bit more like the Wild West,” she said in an interview.
Those freedoms can be abused, however, which opens up killer storytelling possibilities. Smart people making upstanding choices makes for boring television. And the fact that anyone with an internet connection can throw up their own feed lends a vicarious thrill — Are you nosy and own a smartphone? You can be a detective and a show host too! — while generating dramatic tension from everyday people being in way over their heads.
Take, for example, the amoral protagonists of the Peacock series “Based on a True Story,” an occasionally lurid satire of the American obsession with true crime. It hinges on an objectively terrible choice made by a bored married couple: When a tennis pro (Chris Messina) and his real estate agent wife (Kaley Cuoco) discover that their plumber is a serial killer, instead of calling the police they decide to record a podcast with him, cashing in on the criminality even as he continues to kill. Annie Weisman, the showrunner for Season 2, said that putting podcasters at the center of the show allowed for liberties in the storytelling.
“Stories about responsible, ethical journalism are not as much fun because the reality of it is a very methodical, tedious, boring, long process when it’s done well and done right,” she said. “We need that for democracy, and it’s very important. But when we’re playing in this pulpier true-crime world, we’re unhitching ourselves from those constraints.”
Some think such unhitching devalues the reputation of fact-finders. Joe Saltzman, a professor at the USC Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism, who studies the depiction of journalists in popular culture, does not discriminate between podcasters and broadcast and print reporters. He believes that they are represented in similar, often negative ways.
“People love gossip and the news, but they hate the people who bring them that information,” he said. “And the more they see of the process involved, the more they hate them.”
Saltzman argues that when it comes to TV and film, journalists writ large — reporters, podcasters, bloggers, vloggers — will generally be forgiven for their ethical lapses as long as they are performing in the public interest. But sometimes, as in “Bodkin,” “Based on a True Story” and “Only Murders in the Building,” those interests are more private.
“When they use the precious commodity of the news media for their own personal gain, then there’s a really negative image of the journalists,” he said.
In a moment when the news business is flailing, journalists in many places are under threat , and “fake news” has become a frequent drumbeat, watching podcasters make bad choices, rather than professional reporters do that, feels less icky, at least. (Want that ick? Then you may enjoy playing a spot-the-ethical-violations game with “The Girls on the Bus” or “The Morning Show.”) Showing podcasters as dumb, craven or corrupt doesn’t invite as many reputational consequences. Sometimes, it’s even fun.
John Hoffman, who created “Only Murders in the Building” with Steve Martin, wanted to add a podcast element partly to create a landscape for Martin and his co-star Martin Short to play in.
The true-crime podcast format allows Charles (Martin) and Oliver (Short), joined by Selena Gomez playing Mabel, to make ethical and investigative stumbles while allowing for plenty of character-based comedy. The show, an acclaimed Hulu series, also managed a bit of commentary about the vulturous nature of the true-crime genre when it made the Season 2 murderer a podcast producer. (A further upside: It gave her colleague, played by Tina Fey, plenty of material.)
“Podcasters are looking to tell the story, but they’re also bringing the personal in,” Hoffman said. “I’m really interested in the humanity of everyone involved around an incident or a tragedy.”
Jarvis, the journalist podcaster, is a fan of “Only Murders in the Building.” She enjoys how the show skewers podcast clichés, while also portraying the thrill of making a podcast. “They capture that excitement of a small group of people who are hustling and working really hard to tell a story,” she said.
That excitement comes more easily, she added, because “Only Murders” doesn’t have to show the work that real journalists and many real podcasters would do — the research, the fact-checking. And that’s fine with Jarvis.
“I just enjoy it as entertainment,” she said of the show. “If it was intended to be a representation of how we do the work that we do, it would not be an accurate one.”

Welcome meeting, hike to Sermermiut and welcome dinner
Early in the morning, fly directly from Keflavík International Airport to Ilulissat. You are picked up at the airport, and we will drive you to the Hotel Arctic in Ilulissat.
The flight is in itself quite an adventure as you cruise at low altitude over the Inland Ice Cap as you prepare for landing in Ilulissat.
After arrival, a guide from our local excursion office will welcome you and inform you about the different excursions available but also about experiences you can make on your own during your stay in Ilulissat.
Hike to the Ice Fjord and the abandoned Sermermiut settlement
Beautiful icebergs provide the setting for the old settlement of Sermermiut, 1.5 kilometers south of Ilulissat. For 4,000 years, different Inuit cultures lived in the settlement and, today, you can still see the remains, which indicate their former presence.
Hear the story about the life of the Inuit people and their traditions before the Europeans came to Greenland. See the ruins and touch the permafrost with your own hands. Visitors often ask if they can walk these treks themselves? The answer is yes. But it is our experience that most people prefer having a guide with them the first time they hike in Greenlandic nature.
Furthermore, historic places will be pointed out on the way, and these can be difficult to find on your own. You will have a coffee or tea break at “Kællingekløften” with a beautiful view of the Ice Fjord before you head back.
Welcome dinner at the Arctic Hotel.
Dinner and overnight in Hotel Arctic (B, D)
You have the whole day to explore Illulissat. The midnight sun makes the days very long, and you will feel full of energy to explore and take advantage of the entire day.
The sunny nights can only be experienced north of the Arctic Circle where the sun during summer never sets behind the horizon. In Ilulissat, the midnight sun is present from May 22 to July 24, but also throughout August, there will be very bright nights.
Sailing among the icebergs.
Almost every visitor in Ilulissat chooses to try this boat trip among the icebergs at least once. Every day, more than 40 million tonnes of ice flow out into the fjord. The floating icebergs are gigantic, sometimes wider than 100 meters and with a height up to 100 meters above the water surface as well.
These giants pile up at the end of the fjord, providing you with a great opportunity to sail among them. You should not miss out on this exceptional experience when visiting Ilulissat. The icebergs are a wonderful sight in every kind of weather; in the sunshine, the contrasts are very clear, whereas the blue shades are strikingly beautiful when it is cloudy, and the midnight sun casts a unique glow on the icebergs during the night.
Taking the boat trip on a bright night is an extraordinary experience. Remember to bring warm clothes – otherwise, sealskin clothing is available for rent.
Overnight in Hotel Arctic (B)
Only a few places in Greenland are as beautiful as the Eqi Glacier, which runs into the fjord 80 kilometers north of Ilulissat. It is possible to get very close to the glacier by boat and experience huge pieces of ice breaking off. The sounds are thunderous, and the sight of chunks of ice crashing into the water is astonishing.
We sail in modern, comfortable boats during the excursion to Eqi Glacier. The route takes us north along the coast, passing Bredebugt, the settlement of Oqaatsut and the big fjord system called Pakitsoq, where whales and seals are often spotted.
Lunchtime and watch the ice calve
Further along the route, we pass through the Ataa Strait, which is surrounded by steep mountains with bird life and waterfalls. Our boats, which are reinforced for sailing in icy waters, will remain in front of the glacier for approximately 2 hours and wait for the ice to calve. Meanwhile, a delicious lunch will be served. This is an all-day excursion where you will have a good opportunity to immerse yourself in the experience and fully enjoy the boat trip through the ice-filled waters.
Remember to bring warm clothes – otherwise, sealskin clothing is available for rent.
Farewell dinner at Hotel Arctic.
Overnight in Hotel Arctic (B, D)
Departure from Ilulissat at 10:05 AM and arrival at Keflavík International Airport 3:25 PM. Airport transfers are included, both in Greenland and Iceland.

Whale Safari - $190 per person
It is a great experience to get close to large animals like whales. There are 15 species of whale in Greenland. During the summer it is normally the humpback, the common minke whale and the fin whale, we see. The whales swim the entire Disko Bay during the summer; sometimes close to the town, sometimes in the ice fjord or up north by the island, Arveprinsens Ejland.
We are in constant radio contact with the fishermen and the hunters about the whales and their whereabouts. The humpback, with its characteristic fin, is the one we see most often.
Later, it is time to get ready for the next optional excursion. The midnight sun makes the days very long, and you will feel full of energy to explore and take advantage of the entire day.

Maximum 25 persons in Iceland Small groups in Greenland due to logistics.
Trips to Greenland are always subject to weather, fog and ice conditions. Therefore the sequence of the day tours and excursions in Greenland is subject to change or if needed an alternative excursion will be operated if available. Delays and flight cancellations between Iceland and Greenland can happen. Therefore we strongly recommend you to buy travel insurance in the country of residence that would cover any additional travel expenses, should your flights be delayed or cancelled due to weather. We recommend not to book any international flight directly after a trip from Greenland; ideally staying minimum two nights in Iceland after the Greenland trip to avoid the risk of missing an international flight.

Jeremy Clarkson named UK and Ireland’s ‘Sexiest Man’ ahead of Tom Holland and Cillian Murphy
He claims the prize for the second year running
Jeremy Clarkson has been named the UK and Ireland’s sexiest man for the second year running, beating the likes of Cillian Murphy , Tom Holland and Idris Elba .
The Clarkson’s Farm star scored an impressive nine out of 10 points in the annual poll conducted by Illicit Encounters , which proclaims to be “the best online dating site for married people”.
Entering the UK’s top 10 for the first time was Spider-Man star Tom Holland, who came second with a score of eight out 10. Completing the top three is the Prince of Wales, who has shot right up after coming near the bottom of the list last year.
The annual Sexiest Man poll from Illicitencounters.com takes votes from 2,000 of its female members. From a list of 50 men, the women are asked to score each male celebrity out of 10 based on their “sexiness”.
Jessica Leoni, a spokesperson for the dating site, said of the results: “Clarkson and his farm is a bit like Noah’s ark and just like the animal’s in that story, his victory in the Sexiest Man vote has come in twos.
“We all know about his brash persona, but the latest series of Diddly Squat has shown he can tug at heartstrings too – and clearly his farmer look continues to set hearts racing.

“Just like last year’s poll, we knew providing our members with a list of 50 famous names across both genders and asking them to score them on their ‘sexiness’ would throw up some surprises – we’re not putting it past Clarkson to go for the three-peat next year!”
Clarkson confirmed earlier this month that he is already filming season four of Clarkson’s Farm for Amazon Prime Video . The show sees the Grand Tour presenter attempt to run a farm on his 1,000-acre land in the Cotswolds, despite having no farming experience.
“We’re doing season four now and every single day when we meet for filming, we have a vague idea about what I need to do, but I can guarantee it will change because the weather has changed, or some fence will have fallen down,” said Clarkson at an exclusive event at Diddly Squat Farm.
“You never know what you’re going to end up doing. As long as you get content, it doesn’t matter what it is.”
