SEVENTEEN Kickstarts “FOLLOW” Tour In Seoul

Seventeen colored the gocheok sky dome with passionate cheers to signal the beginning of their latest concert tour..

Sans Seungkwan, the group held SEVENTEEN “FOLLOW” TOUR TO SEOUL at Gocheok Skydome on July 21.

This tour title ‘FOLLOW’ shows the process of Seventeen, which became the sun through BE THE SUN era, advancing to a brighter and wider place, based on unique positive values and the group’s promise to move forward together with Carat and TEAM SVT.

As much as the message is contained, Seventeen spreads their unique positive energy through this concert.

Previously, Pledis Entertainment announced that Seungkwan will temporarily suspend activities due to poor health. As a result, Seungkwan was unable to perform on the Seoul concert stage this time.

Fans were also very disappointed, so the members conveyed Seungkwan’s current situation and recent situation. Mingyu reassured the fans by saying, “ I heard that Seungkwan takes 10,000 steps a day. He’s doing just fine .”

seventeen kpop tour 2023

This performance provided a variety of things to see as it was a domestic stage after 13 months. In particular, an LED screen 1.5 times larger than last year’s third world tour BE THE SUN performance and colorful stage equipment was used to maximize visual enjoyment.

In addition, the unit stage where each individual personality of Seventeen was revealed, from vocals, performances, and hip-hop units, took away the attention of viewers with an array of charms from emotion to performance.

S.Coups, Jeonghan, Joshua, Jun, Hoshi, Wonwoo, Woozi, The8, Mingyu, DK, Vernon, and Dino assure an exciting concert for fans.

“ We have prepared many fun stages for you guys, stages where you can dance and sing together. We will do our best by receiving Carats’ energy .”

Starting with the title song of the 10th mini album, “Son Wukong”, they also heat up the stage with “Ready to Love”, “HOT”, and “Aju Nice”.

Hoshi made a wistful message.

“It’s been 13 months since we held a concert in Korea. You guys have been waiting for us a lot, and thank you so much for coming on such a hot day. I had a lot of worries while preparing for the concert, and I worried a lot about what to show. After the concert was over, I felt relieved to know that you all liked it a lot.”

Echoing the same feeling, Woozi also relayed his thoughts.

“I always worry about where the ridiculous power comes from, but when I see that the answer comes from you, I feel so sad that I want to do something. I don’t want to be separated like this, so what should I do?”

Meanwhile, Seventeen will continue the tour in 5 Japanese cities from September to December.

SUGA, BTS

Last week, Billboard revealed its year-end Boxscore charts , ranking the top tours, venues and promoters of 2023. That coverage included analysis of the new wave of genre diverse artists crashing stadium stages, and in turn, our charts. This week, we are breaking down the year’s biggest tours, genre by genre . Today, we begin with K-pop, spotlighting artists who primarily perform in Korean.

Top 10 Highest-Grossing Rock Tours of 2023

Among all the genres we’re recapping this week, K-pop is the youngest, at least in terms of the global box office. In the last 10 years (excluding COVID-impacted years of 2020-21), there were no K-pop artists on the overall top 100 in 2012-14 and 2016, and the genre took up less than 1% of the overall gross in another three year-end periods.

BTS broke ground first, ending 2019 at No. 3 and helping spike the genre’s share from 0.3% to 4%. Off cycle as its members serve in the South Korean military (their last reported show was on April 16, 2022), that share backed down to 1.6% in 2022. But as the group’s international impact spreads further among its peers and reporting increases, the genre’s widespread popularity comes into fuller focus.

K-pop’s share of this year’s top 100 is up to an all-time high of 5.1% thanks to a long list of idol groups selling out venues in Asia, Europe, Latin America and the U.S.

Scroll to check out the top 10 highest grossing tours by K-pop artists, according to figures reported to Billboard Boxscore. All reported shows worldwide between Nov. 1, 2022 – Sept. 30, 2023, are eligible.

NCT DREAM

$7M / 36.9K tickets / 4 shows

All-Genre Top 100 Rank: N/A

NCT DREAM has reported shows with similarly stellar results on either side of the pond, having toured in North America and in Europe throughout 2023.

LE SSERAFIM

LE SSERAFIM

$7.9M / 77.5K tickets / 9 shows

Building the group’s base in Asia, LE SSERAFIM posted seven-figure grosses in Seoul, Tokyo and Hong Kong, among other Japanese and Korean markets. Two shows at Tokyo’s Yoyoghi National Stadium earned $2.3 million and sold more than 24,000 tickets.

Ateez

$13.9M / 103K tickets / 10 shows

Another globe-trotting K-pop group, ATEEZ played to sold-out audiences in Europe and North America, as well as shows in Latin America and Asia.

Stray Kids

$16.1M / 114K tickets / 8 shows

Between mid-February and early April, Stray Kids sold more than 100,000 tickets from shows in Atlanta; Fort Worth, Texas; Los Angeles; and Sydney.

Enhypen

$33M / 336K tickets / 19 shows

All-Genre Top 100 Rank: No. 81

Stretching across almost the entire tracking period, ENHYPEN bookended its year with shows in Japan. It started with 17,000 tickets sold over two night at Nippon Gaishi Hall in Nagoya on Nov. 1-2, 2022, and ended with more than 76,000 tickets at the Tokyo Dome on Sept. 13-14.

Seventeen

$43.3M / 440K tickets / 12 shows

All-Genre Top 100 Rank: No. 58

Between Japan, the Philippines, Indonesia and a hometown show in Seoul, South Korea, SEVENTEEN played stadiums in seven markets to accumulate more than $40 million in ticket sales. Tokyo was the financial highlight, with $16.8 million from four dates at the Tokyo Dome.

TOMORROW X TOGETHER

Tomorrow X Together

$46.8M / 379K tickets / 27 shows

All-Genre Top 100 Rank: No. 54

Equally as strong in Los Angeles as in Osaka, TOMORROW X TOGETHER embarked on an international tour that brought in more than $40 million in ticket sales.

TWICE performs at Billboard Women In Music held at YouTube Theater on March 1, 2023 in Los Angeles, California.

$54.2M / 345K tickets / 18 shows

All-Genre Top 100 Rank: No. 41

TWICE played shows in 18 markets around the world this year, and never grossed less than $2 million. The group was mostly in arenas, but went to stadiums in Atlanta, Los Angeles and New York.

SUGA, BTS

$57.1M / 318K tickets / 26 shows

All-Genre Top 100 Rank: No. 37

After breaking ground and setting Boxscore records as a member of BTS, SUGA struck out on his own with a solo arena tour in the U.S. and Asia. He earned more than $9 million in Los Angeles and the New York area, and sold more than 50,000 tickets in Seoul.

BLACKPINK

$148.3M / 703K tickets / 29 shows

All-Genre Top 100 Rank: No. 10

BLACKPINK takes the lead among K-pop acts, standing tall as the only Asian-based artist in the all-genre top 10. Jennie, Lisa, Jisoo and Rosé started the year in American arenas before traveling to Europe, Mexico and Australia. They returned to the U.S. for stadium dates in New Jersey, Las Vegas, San Francisco and Los Angeles. Notably, the group’s Asian shows were not reported.

K-pop superstars SEVENTEEN have announced two additional tour dates for their “SEVENTEEN WORLD TOUR [BE THE SUN],” a day after concluding the series of seven shows initially planned in Southeast Asia.

The group will be returning to the Philippines and Indonesia for additional shows at the Philippine Arena, Bulacan on December 17 and Gelora Bung Karno Madya Stadium, Jakarta on December 28.

The announcement arrived shortly after the act’s very first American Music Awards nomination for Favorite K-pop Artist was made public. SEVENTEEN recently also received three MTV European Music Awards nods for Best New, Best Push, and Best K-Pop, after taking home their very first Moon Person earlier in August at the 2022 MTV Video Music Awards for PUSH Performance of the Year.

The 13-piece act delivered a heartfelt message to the fans in the final few moments of their show in Singapore. “It cannot be easy to always send so much love our way with this (physical) distance between us. With that in mind, we are truly grateful for this stage and this day. We will continue to bring the best performances to you, as ‘one team.’” Chants led by the band and the fans alike filled the stadium throughout, bringing everyone together for the quintessential K-pop experience.

SEVENTEEN made their grand return to the concert stage in June this year, with two shows in Seoul that were under the spotlight as the largest shows in the city with a live audience since the pandemic. Following 12 shows in North America and seven shows in Southeast Asia, SEVENTEEN will bring their tour to Japan next for a dome tour across Osaka, Tokyo, and Aichi through November and December.

Seventeen will be first K-pop group to perform at famed Glastonbury Festival

Here's the latest K-pop news this week. Seventeen will become the first K-pop group to perform at Glastonbury Festival and BamBam will hold his solo world tour finale at Rajamangala National Stadium.

Seventeen to Perform at Glastonbury Festival

Seventeen will make history as they become the first K-pop act to perform at Glastonbury Festival, known as the world's largest greenfield music and performing arts festival. This year, the Glastonbury Festival will be held at Worthy Farm in England from June 26-30. Seventeen is set to play the Pyramid Stage, Glastonbury's famed main stage, alongside headliners Dua Lipa, Coldplay and SZA.

Seventeen is a 13-member boy band formed by Pledis Entertainment. They are known for being a self-producing idol group since the members are involved in songwriting, music production and choreographing. Their music blends several genres including pop, synth-pop, R and B and hip-hop. Their chart toppers include Very Nice, Don't Wanna Cry, Ready To Love and Rock With You. In 2023, their album FML set the record as the biggest-selling release in the K-pop industry.

To find out Seventeen's performance schedule and ticket details, visit glastonburyfestivals.co.uk.

BamBam's Area 52 Finale

GOT7's BamBam wrapped up Area 52, his first solo world tour across Asia and South America last year. Unfortunately, the US leg of the tour had to be cancelled due to his ankle injury. Although he performed in Thailand over two days at the Thunder Dome as part of the tour, there are fans who missed his show.

Therefore, BamBam announced that "The 1st World Tour Encore [Area 52] in Bangkok", presented by Xiaomi, will take place at Rajamangala National Stadium on May 4. He will be joined by special guest Kang Seulgi, a talented female vocalist from Red Velvet. The duo previously collaborated on the song Who Are You and this marks their first time performing together.

Hundreds wait in the cold for Nutcracker tickets at Moscow's fabled Bolshoi Theater

Charles Maynes

In Russia, ballet fans brave sub-zero temperatures for a chance to see The Nutcracker at Moscow's famed Bolshoi Theatre.

ARI SHAPIRO, HOST:

In his recent year and address to the nation, Russian President Vladimir Putin called for patience with the war in Ukraine, saying the country would meet its goals. But in Moscow, the war can often seem far away, and NPR's Charles Maynes found Russians determined to show patience of another kind.

CHARLES MAYNES, BYLINE: Ultimately, you can blame it on math. Seventeen hundred - that's how many people fit in Moscow's fabled Bolshoi Theater.

(SOUNDBITE OF BOLSHOI THEATRE ORCHESTRA PERFORMANCE OF TCHAIKOVSKY'S "THE NUTCRACKER SUITE, OP.71A: NO 2A, MARCH OF THE TOY SOLDIERS")

MAYNES: Yet there are just 22 holiday performances of "The Nutcracker," the beloved 19th-century ballet by Russian composer Pyotr Tchaikovsky, heard here in a Bolshoi performance from 2014 - so 1,700 seats, 22 performances, which leaves around 37,000 "Nutcracker" tickets for a city of some 12 million, meaning at the Bolshoi, as in life, there are winners but more often losers. Outside the theater, hundreds of Russians brave subzero temperatures deep into the night in hopes of securing their golden ticket.

ANDREI: (Speaking Russian).

MAYNES: "We've been standing here for a long time, since 9 this morning," says Andrei, a Moscow university student who, like everyone in this story, agreed to speak on the condition his last name not appear in the American media. "But we'll stay until the end," he adds, "because 'The Nutcracker' is worth it."

RAIA: (Speaking Russian).

MAYNES: "It's such a beautiful ballet. I just wanted a chance to see it in my old age," says Raia, a retired cleaner who has lived in Moscow most of her life but never been to a "Nutcracker" production. And this gets to another issue. The Bolshoi sells only 400 "Nutcracker" tickets per day. To get them, you have to stand in line. Most people I spoke with were on their second try after a melee broke out the night before.

ZHENYA: (Speaking Russian).

MAYNES: "They opened the gates, and the crowd just shoved us out of the way," says Zhenya, a mother of two who works in the aviation industry. "If people were more cultured, they would have seen that pensioners and others have been waiting all day long," she adds. "Unfortunately, that's not the society we live in." On this night, riot police were on hand, but they mostly sat warm in their bus, the engine kicking acrid fumes over the same crowd police were, in theory, there to protect. If all of this - ballet, beauty, suffering and scarcity - sound like Russian tropes, well, here's another.

MAYNES: Corruption.

MAYNES: "What - you really think someone's not making money off of all of this," says Zhenya, glancing towards the front of the line.

BEK: (Speaking Russian).

MAYNES: "I'm supposed to stand here for 10 hours," admitted Bek, one of several migrant workers from Central Asia I met at the head of the queue.

UNIDENTIFIED PERSON #1: (Speaking Russian).

MAYNES: "He's a hired gun," said one of his friends as he and Bek gave a smile. In fact, people kept telling me all the ways a small fortune can be made for those looking to sell a spot in line. Russia, of course, is at war and under heavy Western sanctions because of it. But no one seemed to want to talk about Ukraine and maybe with good reason. These days, the wrong opinion can easily land you in jail. Still, the conflict was there, lurking just off-stage.

UNIDENTIFIED PERSON #2: (Speaking Russian).

MAYNES: As I joked that an endless line felt like something out of the USSR, Raia, the retired pensioner, told me she really did have nostalgia for the Soviet days.

MAYNES: "Honestly, things were so much calmer then. Today, there's that little war."

MAYNES: Her voice trailing off.

MAYNES: Andrei, the university student, told me that during hard times, Russians gravitated towards art. "To stand in line and talk to people, to listen to music and watch ballet - it brings me joy," he said. Meanwhile, Zhenya, the aviation worker, said if there was ever a time to see "The Nutcracker," it was now, with Russia cut off from Europe and travel to other destinations astronomically expensive.

MAYNES: "You can't go anywhere these days," she says. And so with New Year's just around the corner, she returns to the line, hoping for a different kind of ticket to better times. Charles Maynes, NPR News, Moscow.

  • DollyBirdScotland 0 contributions 5.0 of 5 bubbles Highlights of the Trans-Siberian We've just arrived home from our Highlights of the Trans-Siberian journey having loved our trip to Irkutsk, we were sorry it ended. The Highlights of the Trans-Siberian is a great option if you really want to spend as much time as possible seeing the Russian leg of the train journey and are on a budget as we got to see Kazan which is a must see. We enjoyed it so much we want to do it all over again! We opted to go first class [on account of all the luggage] but all classes of ticket were high quality, decent meals - the Kazan leg was like the Orient Express in terms of comfort and service - and being real working/commuter trains you see life in the Urals and Siberia for ordinary people on the go. The company organised everything from our flights to a stop over and tour in Istanbul whilst in transit to extra time in St Petersburg at the end of the trip in an excellent city centre hotel. We loved the independence of the itinerary which really suited our plans. If we were to do it again we would make extra time on the journey as there was so much to see and do a return visit is needed and the restaurant and bar scene in the provinces really is taking on Moscow in terms of quality and offering. The guides were all excellent, we learned a lot and met lots of people on the journey. Only sorry it's all over. Read more Written October 13, 2023
  • melisac667 0 contributions 5.0 of 5 bubbles Lovely Moscow and St. Petersburg Excellent trip, all my questions were answered, same as all my situations. I needed to change money, and buy a SIM card and it was all solved. Both my guides were more than professional Masha in Moscow and Milena in St. Petersburg. They also helped me buying the tickets of Bolshoi and Mariinsky (which was almost impossible for me) and excellent explanations of the Churches,Museums, Galleries and Palaces. Such a beautiful trip. • gordonbU3309NM 0 contributions 4.0 of 5 bubbles A letter from the Caucasus A journey by a beat up taxi from Dagestan on to Chechyna was eye opening. Grozny, the capital city, has been built up impressively after the two wars with Russia that devastated the city at the end of the 20th century and the early 2000's. It is an impressive, almost finished project of city planning and reconstruction. My paper work cleared on my 30 day tourist visa I lodged in a hotel/sports complex that needed a bit of TCL. Only one person in the whole complex was fluent in English. The Chechen men are full of fun and mischief and teased me a little in good humour. The Chechen women were very much behind the scenes and I thought they might be the real power behind this unique society which is closely divided into clans, called teips and the people are 95% Sunni Muslim. The countryside was very neat and tidy, green with rolling hills with an open highway into the small sister republic of Ingushetia, The food in Grozny was excellent and after some photo taking and a visit to the grand mosque and the Russian Orthodox church, I was driven on to my next stop in Ossetia having failed to arouse any enthusiasm for a new IB school which I proposed for the area. There is not one IB school in the whole of the North Caucasus and latterly some years before retirement I specialised in the Diploma Program, which is, in my experience, an excellent, pre-university program for capable teens. The drive to Vladikavkaz, the capital of Ossetia was fast and furious with much lane jumping on the highway and Hussain, the driver, taking corners at speed while thumping out Chechen folk music on his car speakers. I noticed a few discouraging glances from the locals when we reached Ossetia, as they regard the Chechens as wild highlanders, fond of fighting with a fierce independence of spirit and they were sometimes in conflict over land tenure in the recent past. Hussain on goodbye, refused to take my taxi fare cost except for the fuel. Now that was generosity-and I gave him a Camel CD called the Snowgoose as a gift. I had bought a few as they were on sale in HMV and it's a great album that never dates despite its age. My hotel stay in Vladikavkaz was scheduled for three days but I extended it by two more when on the last evening I hosted a workshop on the three IB programs-the PYP, the primary, the MYP the middle years and the popular DP, the Diploma Program. Before the scheduled presentation I had managed to visit some language schools and had made contact with a private school. However, a potential financial backer withdrew his support and only two teachers showed up. I was very disappointed but was told the next morning that in the present political difficulties no new private school with outside input would be sponsored in Russia and to - "Come back in two years! Vladikavkaz as a city does have a rustic charm mixed in with many dilapidated Soviet style industrial sites now out of use. But, I observed a Russia that was modern. all teens with the must have mobile phones, electric bykes on the streets and a strong family tradition with clear space and boundaries between the sexes. I like to imagine this social organisation is not repressive towards women, as is the case in Iran for example. And true to say. many of the Ossetian women working in the hotel had a university education and had excellent language skills. I upped sticks and came out through the Darial Pass, the Georgian military road that connects Georgia to Russia. I used a mini-bus service and I am glad the driver was competent as some of the drops from a narrow, crowded, winding road, jammed with trucks and private cars, were dizzyingly sheer. We passed by mt. Elbrus which had been hidden by rain clouds and then made a sudden appearance in the sunlight, WoW! It was an eight hour journey with a lot of militaey and police stops. I have a short time before returning to the U.K. and I must recommend Tibilsi, it is a lovely, charming city and really caters for tourists. I got some expert deep tissue and joint massage on old sports related injuries and the treatment certainly helped ease some difficulties I have had with ligament tear and joint injury. This kind of health spa treatment along with mud- baths is a speciality here and is not expensive. Lastly, I shall recommend Go Russia, the travel company, who organised this trip. They ensured my schedule and paperwork was correct and I got no hassle from any officials or police. Of course in these times of war and strife it is best to take a somewhat neutral position in conversation with locals while trading off some truths-that no one has pure clean hands and that the Russian side of the story needs to be balanced against the Western side. Let's up peace and amicability will soon return to S.E. Europa and see and end to the minor conflicts that still arise in the Caucasus region. Thank-you Leo of GoRussia once again, the hotels were modest to good and within my budget, staff always courteous. Russia is a country with a lot to offer-if going, please stay within your itinerary as described and handle your immigration paper work well, the police will be helpful if you are honest and follow the advised procedure set out by Leo's team. • 805anilj 0 contributions 5.0 of 5 bubbles A memorable trip for nearly three weeks I undertook the GoRussia tour program from September 1 to 18, 2022. Apart from the 14-Day Trans-Siberian program, I had extended stays in Moscow and Vladivostok. The tour was organised with such precision that there were no delays at any point at any destination during the nearly three weeks. The tour guides and the drivers assigned for me arrived at the pre-determined meeting places at the scheduled time - sometimes they came early and waited for me. They even ensured I was comfortable and safe on the streets. The guides spoke excellent English and the drivers knew the city roads well. The latter were often assigned to see me off at railway stations. They came till the platform and ensured I boarded the right train and coach; some even dropped the luggage inside the coach. They seemed to be well advised by the Go Russia team in Russia to ensure that I had no trouble in a distant land, especially when I don't speak Russian. While alighting at railway stations the GoRussia representative was right before the train door all the time, thus helping me avoid anxieties and save time. The hotel rooms too were already booked and there was no misunderstandings on this aspect. The receptionist just had to give the key after seeing my passport. • denise h 0 contributions 5.0 of 5 bubbles St Petersburg and Moscow.... Just Go! This was my second trip to Russia with Just Go Russia, and I was equally as happy with the tour programme as previously. The tour guides were both very knowledgeable, friendly and accommodating to our needs. There is a lot to take in! The tour is a busy one but there is plenty of free time to explore and shop for souvenirs. The hotels are well placed for the main tourist attractions but in quiet areas. We felt safe wandering around in the evening, shops are open late and streets were well lit. The organisation is very well handled, we had a positive PCR prior to the holiday and the whole trip was swiftly deferred for 2 weeks by the amazing Lilia. Obtaining the visa meant a trip to London, but hey, its a day out and we were met by the Just Go Russia representative to ensure it all went smoothly. I would suggest asking them to check your visa application before sending it in as it is a bit complex, but they do provide guidance ! The train from Moscow to St Petersburg was this time the high speed evening service, we upgraded to first class for comfy seats and a rather good hot meal with drinks. Previously we used the sleeper train, also first class, which was again well worth the small price difference/ which I would certainly recommend as money well spent. PCRs were organised for us and the medic came to the hotel, annoyingly this was at 06.00 in the morning, a rude awakening, but it saved us a trip to a testing station. To be fair JGR did not arrange the time! We opted to go in January to experience the snow and walk on the frozen river, canals and even the Baltic sea, an amazing experience not found in the UK. Needed thermals and good gloves when outside but indoor venues are warm and there are cloakrooms available for all your coats etc. Price wise food and souvenirs are varied and reasonable, eat the local cuisine, it is delicious and most places had English translations on the menus. Staff were friendly and had some knowledge of the English language which they were happy to practice with us. Overall we recommend this trip and will plan to return in the summer one year to see the parks in full bloom Read more Written February 2, 2022

The tour exceeded my expectations. The food, lodging, sights, history were amazing. GoRussia Tour Group was very responsive, professional, and delivered. Made traveling during CoVID very easy. Our guide Diane in Lviv and Natasha in Kiev were fantastic. Could not ask for better guides. Very knowledgeable, responsive to my needs and professional. Great attitudes. I will use GoRussia Tour Group for my future travel needs in counties that they support. Read more Written June 20, 2021
  • Von_Smiles 0 contributions 5.0 of 5 bubbles Impressive first visit to Russia A very positive experience. I felt very reassured with all of the information received and the handling of the visa which was particularly easy via Go Russia in Germany. No glitches with the pick ups and no delays with the guides. First trip to Russia and I was impressed, so much so that I would book with Go Russia again when I eventually travel back and see more of the country. Julia from Go Russia was extremely competent and helpful. Read more Written May 11, 2020
  • Ginny03 0 contributions 5.0 of 5 bubbles Moscow and St Petersburg March 2020. I would thoroughly recommend Go Russia to anyone wanting to visit Moscow and St Petersburg. The pofessionalism and knowledge of the tour guides is second to none. My son and I did the 1 week trip to Moscow and St Petersburg from 14th to 21st March. We went with some trepidation as already some counties were in 'lockdown' due to the coronavirus but there were no such restrictions for Russia, so we went ahead. The first 3 days in Moscow were magical; everything was open and we even had snow - Red Square and the Kremlin in the snow - something I had longed to see for many, many years! We were incredibly lucky as there had been no snow in Moscow for over 2 months...the snow was followed by mostly sunny days in both cities. Moscow was empty of tourists and our central hotel (10 minutes walk from the Kremlin) only had a few occupants. Our guide, Marina, was excellent and so knowledgeable - she even gave us her contact number in case we encountered any difficulties on our journey to St Petersburg or at any time due to the coronavirus issue. The hotel in St Petersburg, again in the centre, only had 5 people staying so we were massively upgraded! By the time we arrived in the second city (overnight in an upograded compartment with shower etc and again the only ones in the carriage), attractions were starting to close so Go Russia reorganised our itinerary but we saw most from the outside. Sadly we could not go into The Hermitage, which was disappointing. Our guide, Natasha, however, was brilliant and so enthusiastic about her city, showing us many things that tourists do not always have the time to see - the Monument to the Heroic Defenders of Leningrad was particularly moving. Go Russia and Natasha organised everything so we saw as much of St Petersburg as we possibly could. We had sufficient time to explore both cities by ourselves and to go to a different restaurant every evening, tasting both Russian and Georgian food. All restaurants were open and were very pleased to see us - as were any souvenir shops - and the Russian people were very keen to help and to use their English. I cannot recommend Go Russia highly enough - the visa process went very smoothly and in such difficult circumstances, they organised a wonderful holiday for us. Read more Written April 6, 2020
  • juliasJ1111OT 0 contributions 5.0 of 5 bubbles Thoroughly enjoyed St Petersburg We travelled to St Petersburg in early march for a week in the city. I found that Go Russia made the whole experience easy from making the booking, assisting with the visa and arranging for us to have an excellent guide (Natasha) in the City. We stayed at the Petro Palace (seperate review) which was really close to Winter Palace/St Isaac's/Admiralty. The taxi from the airport, the drivers we had in the city/excursions were very helpful. Our week was organised with daily trips (city taxi tour, Hermitage, Peterhof, Catherine's Palace and Yusupov Palace - Natasha as our Guide, it felt like an exclusive experience, she is passionate and knowledgeable. I think we were so fortunate that the lack of overseas visitors enabled us to see the Palaces without hindrance. It would have been nice to see the City with snow and the river/canals frozen, but as the temperature was above the norm this was not possible; just wish the visit could have been longer. I recommend Go Russia to anyone wishing to visit Russia. Read more Written March 30, 2020
  • rclholl 0 contributions 5.0 of 5 bubbles Moscow and St Petersburg Feb/March 2020 We did the 1 week Moscow and St Petersburg tour with Go Russia at the end of Feb/March expecting snow, ice, freezing temps etc. but alas there was none of this as both cities experienced their warmest periods on record. Still it did make walking around in our free time that much easier. Cannot fault Go Russia at all - the boooking process was excellent and chages to the itinerary we wamted were easily accommodated. The visa process is rather daunting but Go Russia made this as easy as possible. We had 2 full days and evenings in Moscow which was fine and we had some free time to explore. We stayed at the Marriott Courtyard which was very good and only 10 minutes walk from the Kremlin - the other hotel offered was quite a way out of the centre and would have involved metro trips to get to the centre. Our guide (Marina) was excellent and took great care of us - we were the only couple in the group. The overnight train to St Petersburg was excellent. We took the upgrade so had our own bathroom witha good shower and a heated toilet seat no less. We were the only couple in the whole carriage and i think the whole train only had a few passengers. May explain why the bar in the carriage was not available so no vodka nightcap. The journey was smooth and we were able to get a reasonable amount of sleep . 4 days in St Petersburg was just fine. There is so much to see but our guide (Natasha) was excellent in picking out the highlights. As in Moscow enough free time to look at and visit places not on the Tour. This time there were 4 of us in the group which made the visits easier. The time of year we visited along with the lack of chinese visitors due to the coronavirus resulted in palaces, galleries etc. being almost empty and so viewing was very easy. No complaints whatsoever and would have no hesitation in recommending Go Russia Read more Written March 11, 2020
  • 501grahamp 0 contributions 5.0 of 5 bubbles St. Petersburg and Moscow for New Year, 2019/20 I travelled to St. Petersburg and Moscow with Go Russia late December 2019 to early January 2020, taking in New Year in Moscow. The only thing that went wrong with this trip was the weather... I had hoped to experience freezing temperatures and loads of ice and snow, but it was way too warm for that! Everything else was excellent. The tour guides were superb, and we were given sufficient time to do a bit of exploring ourselves too. The hotels in both cities were very comfortable, conveniently and centrally located. Pretty much everything we saw was fascinating. The two evening cultural events (traditional music and the “Nutcracker” ballet) were a wonderful and surprising addition to the itinerary. Furthermore, despite rumors I had heard to the contrary, the overnight train from St. Petersburg to Moscow was excellent. Last but not least, the visa service offered by Go Russia is superb, and really does make everything so much easier and stress-free. If I have one suggestion - it would have been a nice touch to have one or two organized evening meals at a proper Russian establishment, shared with my traveling companions (both BrIrish, and the German / French groups). But that’s a minor point in what was otherwise a wonderful and memorable holiday! Highly recommended. I would definitely travel with Go Russia again. Read more Written January 13, 2020
