Bruce Springsteen Tour 2012: Schedule, Dates, Locations for U.S. + Europe [FULL LIST]

Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band have an extensive tour planned for 2012 in the U.S. and in Europe. The tour will begin on Mar. 18 in Atlanta, Ga. and end in Helsinki, Finland at the end of July 2012.

The Wrecking Ball World Tour will commemorate Springsteen's 17th studio album Wrecking Ball, which is set for release on Mar. 6 by Columbia Records. The new album will feature eleven new Springsteen songs with two bonus tracks and exclusive artwork and photography.

Bruce has dug down as deep as he can to come up with this vision of modern life. The lyrics tell a story you can't hear anywhere else and the music is his most innovative in recent years. The writing is some of the best of his career and both veteran fans and those who are new to Bruce will find much to love on 'Wrecking Ball,' Springsteen's long-time manager wrote on the site.

The Wrecking Ball World Tour will make stops in 16 cities in the U.S., playing 19 shows total. Springsteen will make his last U.S. stop in Newark, N.J. before making his way to Europe for May, June and July. The New Jersey-born rock star last played in 2006 at Jazz Fest in La.

The E Street Band's members include Roy Bittan on piano, synthesizer; Nils Lofgren on guitar, vocals; Patti Scialfa on guitar, vocals; Garry Tallent on bass guitar; Stevie Van Zandt on guitar, vocals; and Max Weinberg on drums; with Soozie Tyrell on violin, guitar, vocals and Charlie Giordano on keyboards. The tour will be the first since saxophonist Clarence Clemons passed away last summer at 69 years old.

Top Five Bruce Springsteen 2012 Tour Rarities

Bruce Springsteen ’s ‘Wrecking Ball’ world tour resumes tonight (May 25) in Frankfurt, Germany after a week-long break. The time off has given us a chance to catch up on listening to all the bootlegs we’ve downloaded (oops, did we say that out loud?), as well as notice how the setlists have varied from night-to-night.

While only a small percentage of the fanbase would object if he played virtually the same set every night (you know, the weird ones like us who keep spreadsheets of this stuff), Springsteen likes the idea of making every show unique for the fans. Just as importantly, it keeps the E Street Band sharp and on their toes.

To date, a total of 94 songs have been performed at 26 shows (including the warmups at the Apollo Theater and SXSW ) and only two concerts have seen no debuts given. So we thought we’d take a look at the five most surprising rarities the tour has given us so far, beginning with 'Seaside Bar Song.'

Madonna 's MDNA tour sold out all 72 of its worldwide dates, raking in a whopping $228,406,085 in grosses. The tour also generated plenty of publicity for the controversy-friendly singer, from superimposing a swastika on the image of French right-wing politician Marine Le Pen , to supporting jailed Russian girl group Pussy Riot, to flashing her nipple at her Istanbul stop and mooning concert goers in Rome, the tour was nothing short of outrageous.

Mother Monster kicked off her Born This Way Ball in April 2012 and will continue touring until March 2013. Lady Gaga sold out all 65 of her 2012 dates, earning $124,879,545.

5. Coldplay

Coldplay hit North America, Europe, Australia and New Zealand during a whirlwind 2012. All in all, the band brought in $147,188,828 with their ticket sales. But fans might be waiting a while for the next go-around, with lead singer Chris Martin hinting at a three-year hiatus during one of the band's recent shows.

7. Tim McGraw Kenny Chesney

Tim McGraw and Kenny Chesney brought double the trouble to their Brothers of the Sun tour, kicking off in June for a 23-day trek. The venture raked in $96,458,890.

8. Van Halen

Despite canceling 30 dates and postponing several more due to illness, Van Halen still earned a spot on Billboard's annual list with $54,425,548 earned this year on tour.

9. Jay- Z, Kanye West

Among the most buzzed-about collaborations of the decade, Jay-Z and Kanye West brought their Watch the Throne on the road for a 31-date tour. And at the end of the day, Jay and Ye made $46,986,464.

10. Andre Rieu

Violinist Andre Rieu played nearly 100 shows this year, bringing in $46,785,717.

A staple of the touring music world, the Dave Matthews Band played 41 dates in 2012 and earned $41,433,182.

12. Barbra Streisand

Just 12 sold-out shows placed Barbra Streisand at No. 12 on Billboard's list. Her touring intake: $40,657,170.

13. Jason Aldean

Jason Aldean 's Night Train debuted at No. 1 on Billboard's 200 album chart earlier this year. His tour proved to be among the hottest tickets in the nation this year, and his momentum is still rolling. His July 2013 show at Boston's Fenway Park sold out in just 7 minutes, prompting the country singer to add a second date. His 2012 tour earnings: $39,956,703.

14. Lady Antebellum

Lady A may have canceled several tour dates next year due to Hillary Scott' s pregnancy, but the band did plenty of touring in 2012 to make up for that. The trio performed 88 shows and brought in $38,358,801.

15. Red Hot Chili Peppers

2012 was a big year for the Red Hot Chili Peppers. In April, the band was inducted into the Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame. They rallied for the re-election of President Obama with a free show in Cleveland, Ohio, to drum up volunteers for the campaign. And in October, Flea celebrated his 50th birthday with a fundraising bash. All the while, they continued to tour and raked in $33,911,873 along the way.

16. Brad Paisley

One of five country acts (six if you count Taylor Swift ) to make the list, Brad Paisley 's tour brought in $33,794,719 this year.

17. Nickelback

Earlier this year, Nickelback frontman Chad Kroeger asked punk rocker Avril Lavigne to be his wife with a massive sparkler. Luckily for him, the band earned $33,790,267 on the road this year.

No. 18 (Not Pictured): The Trans-Siberian Orchestra earned $33,370,711.

19. Elton John

This pop icon still knows how to entertain an audience, drawing 240,381 eager concert-goers to his 38 shows this year. In total, John brought in $32,920,986.

20. Justin Bieber

He may still be waiting for that coveted Grammy award, but Justin Bieber sure knows how to sell out a stadium. The pop sensation filled 28 out of the 29 venues at which he performed this year, drawing in $32,920,986  and 402,710 audience members.

21. Rod Stewart

Audiences are still finding Rod Stewart sexy, pushing him to No. 21 on the list. For Stewart, 2012 marked a new deal with Universal, a Christmas album, the release of his autobiography and $30,158,491 in touring dollars.

22. Neil Diamond

While promoting The Very Best of Neil Diamond , the legendary singer performed 30 dates and earned $29,910,078.

23. Pearl Jam

Performing only 11 shows this year, none of which were sold out, Pearl Jam still secured a spot on Billboard's list with $27,363,430 in touring dollars.

24. Taylor Swift

Touring for more than a full year, Taylor Swift wrapped up her Speak Now Tour with 21 sold-out shows and $26,310,160 in revenue in 2012. She'll embark on her next tour, promoting her latest album Red , in early 2013.

Fans were delayed but not denied their visit from The Boss Tuesday night (March 19) in Phoenix as Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band relaunched their world tour after a six-month break. 

Springsteen was originally slated to play the Arizona date on Nov. 30 last year, but it was one of 29 shows postponed after he came off the road in early September for treatment for peptic ulcer disease . 

He made no reference to his health troubles (which were clearly in his past, given his extreme energy on stage) until the closing tune of the 29-song set, when he apologized for inconveniencing anyone by having to move the show, explaining, “I had a motherf**cker of a bellyache.”

The 2 hour 45 minute concert, which started right at 7:30pm , was a rollicking, high-energy affair. Gone are tour mainstays from the earlier leg, such as the funky “The E Street Shuffle” and the jazzy 7-minute “Kitty’s Back” (both from 1973’s The Wild, The Innocent & The E Street Shuffle ), and six songs from Springsteen’s last album of original material, 2020’s Letter to You (Tuesday’s show was down to four from that set), replaced with tunes that make for a fast-paced, non-stop thrill ride of a show. 

Springsteen will spend the rest of the year on the road, with more than 50 dates on the 2024 docket, including a European leg that starts in Cardiff, Wales in May and includes multiple stadium shows in cities like Milan, Madrid and Barcelona, before he returns stateside in August for stadium shows.

Bruce Springsteen gets a flat tire in Jersey, gets to Mohegan Sun concert on time

Flat notes are rare at Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band concerts.

Nor do flat tires stop the show. 

Springsteen posted a pic of himself on his Instagram story sitting next to an SUV with a flat tire in the Keyport area of the Jersey Shore on his way to the E Street Band's Friday, April 12 show at Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, Connecticut.

Springsteen had apparently just started out for Mohegan Sun from his home in Colts Neck. Repairs were made and the Boss, wearing a tie and vest, took the stage on time at 7:45 p.m.

No mention of the unscheduled pit stop was made from the stage. Springsteen and the E Street Band performed a spirited 27 songs over 2 hours and 45 minutes. Tour debuts included “Seeds” and “I'm on Fire.” The gospel-stirred “My City of Ruins” was included, and it's become a statement of mission for the current run of shows, which began March 19 at the Footprint Center in Phoenix. Multiple shows were postponed last S eptember as Springsteen had a bout of peptic ulcer disease.

“We're here tonight to bring the joyous power of rock 'n' roll into your life,” said Springsteen during the “My City of Ruins” intro. “We're here to bring some (blanking) fun. We are here to wake you up and to shake you up and take you up to higher ground!”

The show, the band's first on the East Coast in eight months, was looser and seemingly more improvised than those of last year's tour. The night's first two songs, “Roll of the Dice” and “Lucky Towns,” were appropriate for the show's setting — inside a casino.

Springsteen popped a bottle of champagne as he walked on stage, and a pink bra was thrown at him late in the show during “Rosalita (Come Out Tonight).” Steven Van Zandt picked up the bra and put it on the neck of Springsteen's guitar.

The Boss threw it back into the sold-out audience of 10,000 during the build-up of “Rosalita's” final chorus.

“Thank you, you guys are great — you made the whole evening fun! I love Uncasville, wherever the heck it is! As a matter of fact, I'm moving to Uncasville tomorrow,” Springsteen, 74, said at the close of the show.

Friday's show was rescheduled from Sept. 16, 2023. Up next is Monday, April 15 at the MVP Arena in Albany, New York.

Watch Bruce Springsteen Play ‘Seeds’ For First Time Since 2016 at Mohegan Sun Arena

Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band touched down in Uncasville, Connecticut, on Friday night for an intimate show at the 10,000-seat Mohegan Sun Arena. It’s the tiniest venue they’ve hit since returning to the road in February 2023, and one of the few casino gigs Springsteen has played in his entire career.

“We’re back!” Springsteen said when taking the stage. “Somebody lost their money! Somebody lost their money or we wouldn’t be back. We’ve got to get paid. But I don’t care if you lost your money or you won your money, tonight we’re going to make you the luckiest people in the world!”

“Seeds” was recorded during the 1983 Born In The U.S.A. sessions at The Hit Factory in New York City, but fans didn’t hear it until the summer of 1985 when he started playing it live. It’s about a desperate man that brings his family down to Texas with the hope of finding work in an oil refinery. They wind up sleeping in their car and tents alongside the highway.

“Parked in the lumberyard freezing our asses off,” Springsteen sings. “Kids in the back seat got a graveyard cough/I’m sleeping up in front with my wife/Billy club tapping on the windshield in the middle of the night/He says, ‘Move along son, move along.'”

Many times throughout the show, Springsteen joked that he literally didn’t know where he was. “Uncasville!” he roared near the start of “10th Avenue Freeze-Out.” “Where the fuck am I?” Before wrapping up the show with “I’ll See You In My Dreams,” he addressed the crowd one last time. “I love Uncasville, wherever the fuck it is,” he said. “Matter of fact, I’m moving to Uncasville tomorrow!”

The tour continues April 15 in Albany, New York, before heading to Syracuse, New York, and Columbus, Ohio. In early May, it moves over to Europe for a couple of months. Another American leg begins August 15th in Pittsburgh.

Bruce Springsteen previews Syracuse concert with ‘plans to destroy your city’

Bruce Springsteen previewed this week’s Syracuse concert with a special message on social media.

“First time I came to Syracuse was 1973 and you were looking at the only two members of the E Street Band that were there 51 frickin’ years ago,” The Boss said in an Instagram video alongside original E Street Band bassist Garry W. Tallent on Monday.

“It said ‘Welcome Bruce Spring-stine,’” Tallant recalled.

It’s unclear if he was referring to a misspelled name (Springstein?) or a mispronunciation of the bandleader’s surname. A review in the Herald-Journal newspaper of that 1973 concert at the Onondaga County War Memorial misidentified the band opening for Chicago as “a five-member combo from New Jersey called Bris Christy .”

“50 years later and guess what? Me, this gentleman Garry W. Tallent, and the rest of the E Street Band have plans to destroy your city and rock you into the ground!” Springsteen said Monday.

Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band are set to perform at the JMA Wireless Dome in Syracuse on Thursday, April 18. The concert was originally scheduled for September 2023 but was postponed after Springsteen was diagnosed with peptic ulcer disease .

“You sing with your diaphragm. My diaphragm was hurting so badly that when I went to make the effort to sing, it was killing me, you know?,” the 74-year-old Rock and Roll Hall of Famer told E Street Radio host Jim Rotolo last month. “So, I literally couldn’t sing at all, you know, and that lasted for two or three months, along with just a myriad of other painful problems.”

More than 30,000 tickets have been sold for the Dome concert, which will be Springsteen’s first performance in Central New York since playing Vernon Downs in 2012 . Past Springsteen concerts also include performances at the War Memorial in 1973 and 1978, the Landmark Theatre in 1996, and the Carrier Dome in 1985 and 1992.

Here’s what else you need to know, according to Syracuse University’s website:

Tickets purchased for the original Sept. 7, 2023, date will be honored for the rescheduled date of April 18, 2024.

A few thousand tickets are still available for the Syracuse show through Ticketmaster (prices start at $74.40), as well as VividSeats , StubHub , TicketNetwork or SeatGeek . Attendees are encouraged to download their ticket on their phone before arriving.

Guests with a General Admission Pit ticket should enter through Gate D.

PARKING / TRAFFIC

Gates open at 5:30 p.m. Concertgoers are encouraged to arrive early due to traffic as the concert will begin promptly at 7:30 p.m. Springsteen has no opening act.

If you purchased advance sale parking, please display your parking pass on your rearview mirror so it is easily viewable for the parking attendants and to help with traffic flow. ( See a list of parking lot addresses .) If you purchased a parking pass for the original concert date, that pass is still valid.

• On event day, $35 parking will be available at the University Avenue Garage, UAG, (1101 E Adams St) and Comstock Avenue Garage, CAG, (501 Comstock Ave). Additional parking may be available at UNVN, UNVS, Harrison and Waverly. All lots will accept major credit cards, debit cards and mobile payment (Apple Pay, Android Pay and Google Pay). Cash will not be accepted.
• $30 paid parking will be available at the Skytop (1600 Jamesville Avenue ) parking lots. Free shuttle transportation is provided between the College Place shuttle drop off and the Colvin, Comstock and Skytop parking lots. These lots will open at 1 p.m. with shuttle service beginning at 4 p.m.
• Skytop: If you are using Route 81 south to get to the SKY or SKYD lots, SU suggests you use Exit 17. At the bottom of the ramp turn LEFT and at the next light head up Brighton Ave., then left onto Ainsley Drive to your lot.

All lots will accept major credit cards, debit cards and mobile payment (Apple Pay, Android Pay and Google Pay). Cash will not be accepted.

CASH OR CREDIT?

Credit. All official SU parking lots are now cashless (though there may be some cash options near campus). Everything inside the Dome is also cashless, including the merchandise stands. Beverages, including alcohol, will be grab-and-go.

CLEAR BAG POLICY

The Dome’s Clear Bag Policy will be in effect. Therefore, one clear bag and one small clutch or purse is allowed. Fans will be asked to return non-approved bags to their vehicle prior to stadium entry. There will be no check-in location for prohibited bags at the Stadium. Please plan accordingly.

An exception will be made for medically necessary items after proper inspection.

When will the concert end?

According to Syracuse University, the concert is expected to end between 10 and 11 p.m. At Monday’s MVP Arena concert in Albany, Springsteen reportedly played for 2 hours and 45 minutes. If the Syracuse show starts at 7:30, expect the Boss to be rocking until about 10:15 p.m.

Bruce Springsteen is back on the road touring after a peptic ulcer late last year had him worried that he might never sing again.

It’s music to his fans’ ears. Also, “The Boss” is still pretty, danged awesome.

Don’t believe it?

Well, a clip from a recent concert is creating a social media stir because the 74-year-old came to the rescue of an 11-year-old in attendance. No, there wasn’t a life-or-death situation here, but it turns out the kid skipped school to make it to the show.

And when you skip school, you need an excuse.

That’s what the 11-year-old explained with a big sign, asking Springsteen to sign her excuse.

It resulted in the memory of a lifetime because Springsteen saw the sign and went to work. A clip from the concert shows him taking the note from the girl, kneeling down, and writing a long message on her excuse. He also held up the sign, and blew a kiss to her all while smiling.

“No words!!!!!” Karen Pitcher Scovell wrote while sharing a recording of the interaction to Facebook. “To be in such close proximity to greatness was more than I had ever expected. Bruce knelt down directly in front of me to sing a school excuse for the little girl behind me…”

The 74-year-old Springsteen, who had to postpone his tour last September due to the ulcer, admitted in a recent interview that he wasn’t sure he would ever be able to sing again.

“Once I started singing, you know, you can rehearse singing, but your voice isn’t the same in rehearsal,” he said according to Deadline. “You don’t have the edge of adrenaline that really pushes it into a better place and the thing when I had the stomach problem, one of the big problems was I couldn’t sing.

“You sing with your diaphragm,” he continued. “My diaphragm was hurting so badly that when I went to make the effort to sing, it was killing me, you know? So, I literally couldn’t sing at all, you know, and that lasted for two or three months, along with just a myriad of other painful problems.”

Springsteen said people kept telling him he would return, but he said the ulcer was so painful that, at times, he did not believe that.

“You know, you’re thinking like, ‘Hey, am I gonna sing again?’” he said. “And you know, this is one of the things I love to do the best, the most, and right now I can’t do it.”

He said doctors kept telling him that would change.

“At the end of the day, I found some great doctors, and they straightened me out,” he said. “And I can’t do anything but thank them all.”

“The Boss” is slated to play in Pittsburgh on Aug. 15 and Aug. 18, and in Philadelphia on Aug 21 and Aug. 23. He also has a date in Washington, D.C. on Sept. 7 and in Baltimore on Sept. 13.

The basic parameters of comparative tests of UO 2 fuel pellets produced by the technology of powder metallurgy for aftersinterability using their repeated thermal treatment (aftersintering) in different gas media, namely, with and without humidification, are presented. The results of an evaluation of the level of aftersinterability of these pellets by different procedures is presented, they are analyzed, and a substantiation of the expediency of using this operation manual for evaluating afersintering without the humidification of the gas medium developed at the OAO Machine Building Works (MSZ), Elektrostal’, Moscow oblast, is presented.

Touring the Top 10 Moscow Metro Stations

Komsomolskaya metro station looks like a museum. It has vaulted ceilings and baroque decor.

Hidden underground, in the heart of Moscow, are historical and architectural treasures of Russia. These are Soviet-era creations – the metro stations of Moscow.

Our guide Maria introduced these elaborate metro stations as “the palaces for the people.” Built between 1937 and 1955, each station holds its own history and stories. Stalin had the idea of building beautiful underground spaces that the masses could enjoy. They would look like museums, art centers, concert halls, palaces and churches. Each would have a different theme. None would be alike.

The two-hour private tour was with a former Intourist tour guide named Maria. Maria lived in Moscow all her life and through the communist era of 60s to 90s. She has been a tour guide for more than 30 years. Being in her 60s, she moved rather quickly for her age. We traveled and crammed with Maria and other Muscovites on the metro to visit 10 different metro stations.

Moscow subways are very clean

To Maria, every street, metro and building told a story. I couldn’t keep up with her stories. I don’t remember most of what she said because I was just thrilled being in Moscow.   Added to that, she spilled out so many Russian words and names, which to one who can’t read Cyrillic, sounded so foreign and could be easily forgotten.

The metro tour was the first part of our all day tour of Moscow with Maria. Here are the stations we visited:

1. Komsomolskaya Metro Station  is the most beautiful of them all. Painted yellow and decorated with chandeliers, gold leaves and semi precious stones, the station looks like a stately museum. And possibly decorated like a palace. I saw Komsomolskaya first, before the rest of the stations upon arrival in Moscow by train from St. Petersburg.

2. Revolution Square Metro Station (Ploshchad Revolyutsii) has marble arches and 72 bronze sculptures designed by Alexey Dushkin. The marble arches are flanked by the bronze sculptures. If you look closely you will see passersby touching the bronze dog's nose. Legend has it that good luck comes to those who touch the dog's nose.

3. Arbatskaya Metro Station served as a shelter during the Soviet-era. It is one of the largest and the deepest metro stations in Moscow.

4. Biblioteka Imeni Lenina Metro Station was built in 1935 and named after the Russian State Library. It is located near the library and has a big mosaic portrait of Lenin and yellow ceramic tiles on the track walls.

5. Kievskaya Metro Station was one of the first to be completed in Moscow. Named after the capital city of Ukraine by Kiev-born, Nikita Khruschev, Stalin's successor.

6. Novoslobodskaya Metro Station  was built in 1952. It has 32 stained glass murals with brass borders.

7. Kurskaya Metro Station was one of the first few to be built in Moscow in 1938. It has ceiling panels and artwork showing Soviet leadership, Soviet lifestyle and political power. It has a dome with patriotic slogans decorated with red stars representing the Soviet's World War II Hall of Fame. Kurskaya Metro Station is a must-visit station in Moscow.

8. Mayakovskaya Metro Station built in 1938. It was named after Russian poet Vladmir Mayakovsky. This is one of the most beautiful metro stations in the world with 34 mosaics painted by Alexander Deyneka.

9. Belorusskaya Metro Station is named after the people of Belarus. In the picture below, there are statues of 3 members of the Partisan Resistance in Belarus during World War II. The statues were sculpted by Sergei Orlov, S. Rabinovich and I. Slonim.

10. Teatralnaya Metro Station (Theatre Metro Station) is located near the Bolshoi Theatre.
