As always, the Stringdusters put on a high energy show that was a blast! The house was packed. The addition of percussion in the 2nd set was really cool and worked well. These guys never disappoint!

These guys are such high-energy from the minute they step onto the stage until their last note, which is usually long after their slated timeslot! You can see from the smiles on their faces that they're truly in the moment and jamming together like it's their first time. It's also a real treat seeing them perform in The Caverns. Having no backstage, the band approaches and departs the stage along the audience's righthand side so if you know this little secret, you just might be able to catch them sharing a quick prayer and team rally moment just before they step up to play. Wow! Keep jammin' guys! I always feel like I'm home whenever I get to see you.

Shercamar’s profile image

These guys never fail to bring the heat, and this show was certainly no exception. Seems like they were inspired by both the insane visuals of the venue, and the fact they they were joined by steel guitar master, Roosevelt Collier for a few songs. Whatever it was, the boys put on a stellar performance at Meow Wolf. We were lucky to have them in such a small and interesting venue.

We realized last year that performing live music is not optional for us,” shared Andy Hall. “It feeds our soul and we hope it does for you, as well. That’s why we’re beyond excited to announce this tour!”

Although touring came to a halt last year, the Infamous Stringdusters certainly did not, in terms of releasing music. Since the shutdown in 2020, the band launched an in-house record label, Americana Vibes Individual band members including Andy Hall and Chris Pandolfi each released solo albums, Travis Book took on the production of a Happy Hour/livestream concept, and both Jeremy Garrett and Andy Falco have been working on forthcoming solo releases with details coming soon.

In December 2020, the band as a whole released Dust the Halls: An Acoustic Christmas Holiday!, which was recorded entirely at their home studios and debuted at #1 on the Billboard Bluegrass Charts.

And most recently, the Infamous Stringdusters released their latest studio effort, A Tribute to Bill Monroe, a series of 7 Monroe classics, released last Friday, May 24 exclusively on Americana Vibes. The album takes listeners on a journey through Bill Monroe’s bluegrass, which resides within the spirit of innovation, one that the Dusters took in becoming innovators within the music they create together.

The Infamous Stringdusters – New Album and Tour Dates Announced

stringdusters tour

The Grammy Winners Showcase Their Personal And Musical Evolution On New Album Toward the Fray; available today . Announce Tour Dates all over the US for 2022.

February 18, 2022 – Denver, CO – The title track of The Infamous Stringdusters ’ new album Toward the Fray finds the song’s narrator making a decision to get involved, rather than just comment on the sidelines; a thread that weaves through the GRAMMY-nominated band’s entire release, directly reflecting a pivotal moment in its members’ collective consciousness.

Deeply affected by the killing of George Floyd, with eyes wide open to how the world works for everyone, the Stringdusters set about educating themselves on being better citizens of this country and beyond, while making Toward the Fray. “All five of us took that opportunity for our consciousness to evolve, and we took the responsibility seriously,” says Stringdusters bassist, Travis Book. “That’s what I hear when I listen to this record. The songs are very honest and real, but what other option do we have?” The most real take away from their time of reflection comes in the form of album track, “I Didn’t Know,” written by the band’s fiddle player, Jeremy Garrett alongside legendary bluegrass songsmith Jon Weisberger, and with accompanying drumming courtesy of Circles Around The Sun ’s Mark Levy—making this the very first Stringdusters album with drums.

Throughout the process of writing and recording Toward the Fray—and over a large break in touring—the Stringdusters’ musicianship has continued to blossom into near-mastery. “Our new album, Toward the Fray, is the beginning of a new chapter in our journey as a band. Music brought us all together some 16 years ago, but life and our evolution as people, not just musicians, is what keeps us together and keeps things interesting. Now we have something to say, and the experience to seize that moment in a meaningful way,” says Stringdusters banjoist, Chris Pandolfi. “Maybe this is just a first step in this new direction, and we are certainly not claiming to have all the answers — after all, the irony of growth is that there is a humility in it. But as we gain a sense of awareness and responsibility, we want to do everything we can to honor that and do some good in the world. That’s what this album is all about.”

“To me, the theme of Toward the Fray is about dealing with your problems head on, rather than running away from them,” says guitarist Andy Falco. “One of the things that I’m really proud of is that this record is true to all of us. It’s a genuine record because it really is about everything that we were all going through. We’re talking about the pandemic and all of the chaos, but we’re talking about love and other things, too. We were able to reflect and dive deep and look inward during all of this. I hope people who hear these songs will feel like they’re not alone. That’s what we always hope that people can relate to in our songs—that we’re all in it together.”

In addition to the release of Toward the Fray, the Stringdusters and their label, Americana Vibes, are pleased to announce a partnership with Colorado’s Arapahoe Basin Ski Area which officially kicks off on April 16. The Basin, as it’s known to skiers and snowboarders, is known for its extended ski season–oftentimes bleeding into the July 4 holiday weekend. “The Basin has long been known for spring skiing and a laid back and welcoming vibe,” shared Jesse True, Director of Marketing at Arapahoe Basin. “In this crazy time, skiing at the Basin has become even more important to our guests, it is a place where we can all come together and enjoy the outdoors. We feel like the Stringdusters and Americana Vibes really match our culture, and what better way to celebrate spring skiing than a day at the Basin for all things Dusters?!”

The April 16 event is set to include live music by Americana Vibes artists, a full-bar takeover by Denver’s Station 26 Brewing, on-site activations from the likes of Cheeba Chews, Rosenberg’s Bagels, contests, games and more. More information will be announced in the coming months.

Infamous Stringdusters Set Fall Tour, Red Rocks Show With Yonder Mountain

By Robert Crawford

Robert Crawford

The Infamous Stringdusters rarely take a break from the road. Already midway through a busy summer of festival dates and headlining shows, the Grammy-winning bluegrassers have announced another round of show dates, with plans to remain on tour throughout much of 2018.

“We are in this together, and we are so excited for our fall tour when we will get together as a community and feel the positive energy we all make together,” says guitarist Andy Falco in a press statement. Rounded out by dobro player Andy Hall, banjo player Chris Pandolfi, fiddler Jeremy Garrett and upright bassist Travis Book, the Stringdusters will use the upcoming shows to whip up anticipation for their ninth studio album, which will double as the first record to be released via the band’s own label, Tape Time Records.

The Infamous Stringdusters ’ still-untitled album was recorded in Denver, not far from the legendary outdoor venue, Red Rocks Ampitheatre, that will host the band’s co-headlining gig with Yonder Mountain String Band on August 4th. Other highlights of the Stringdusters’ expanded schedule include a pair of Lake Tahoe gigs on July 17th and 18th, both of which will serve as musical afterparties for Phish’ concerts at the nearby Lake Tahoe Outdoor Arena. The group will also spend time traveling the east coast, with shows in Asheville, New York City and Charlotte all scheduled for November. Finally, the schedule ends — for now — with a multi-day stay at the Strings & Sol bluegrass festival in Puerto Morelos, Mexico.

After finally being in the same room for the first time in six months, the Infamous Stringdusters seized the moment for their revealing new album,  Toward the Fray . Inspired by self-reflection and a strong sense of solidarity, the project documents the Grammy Award-winning group’s remarkable growth as instrumentalists as well as songwriters. Released on their own label, Americana Vibes, the collection also firmly establishes the band’s stature on the modern acoustic music landscape, where they’ve built a solid and enduring fan base among traditional and progressive audiences alike.

The five band members – Travis Book (bass), Andy Falco (guitar), Jeremy Garrett (fiddle), Andy Hall (Dobro), and Chris Pandolfi (banjo) -- wrote the songs on Toward the Fray separately, sending simple phone demos to each other during lockdown. Fueled by friendship and a mastery of their instruments, the 13-track collection feels live, but not necessarily loose, due to a synergy that’s developed over the last 16 years of playing sheds, clubs, and festival stages across the country.
