Bottom Line

The Tropicana is an enormous megaresort with over 2,000 rooms and suites spread across three towers. The rooms, which are plagued with dated decor and tube TVs, are not the highlight at this boardwalk hotel. Its Havana-inspired three-story streetscape called the Quarter is much more inviting, with an IMAX Theater, shopping, restaurants, and nightclubs. The Tropicana also draws visitors for its high-end spa, Broadway-style theater, and seasonal outdoor pool and bar -- not to mention the huge casino floor. A location right on the boardwalk and freebies such as Wi-Fi are convenient perks, but beware of long lines at check-in.

The scene at the Tropicana is centered around the Havana-inspired entertainment area called the Quarter, a three-story streetscape full of shops, restaurants, and bars. This area of the resort feels more similar to Las Vegas than other nearby casinos. Palm trees, painted ceiling murals, and Cuban music all provide substance to the atmosphere. While shopping, dining, and IMAX are all draws to the Quarter, varied nightlife brings the energy. The dozen bars, lounges, and clubs at this resort include The Rumba Lounge, A Dam Good Sports Bar, Planet Rose Karaoke Bar, Ri Ra Irish Pub, and Tango's Lounge.

Standard rooms at the Tropicana are mid-range and dated. Modern upgrades are on offer in suites spread throughout the three towers. The West Tower has spacious suites with a navy and white nautical theme and in-room Jacuzzi tubs, while premium suites in the South Tower have duvets, flat-screen TVs, and ocean views. The most contemporary and pricey of all are the Cielo Suites in the North Tower, which include a West Indies theme and feature wet bars, 55-inch flat-screen TVs, and temperature controlled wine storage units.

Overlooking the ocean from the Atlantic City Boardwalk is the Tropicana Atlantic City, a recently-renovated, multi-tower hotel. There’s plenty of entertainment for guests to enjoy, from summer fireworks on Saturday nights to dozens of on-site casual and fine dining restaurants – including a Cuba Libre Restaurant & Rum Bar. Of course, there’s also the casino, which features table games, slots, poker and entertainment stages. While each of this Atlantic City hotel’s 2,047 guest rooms sports a modern design from a past update, only the accommodations in the Chelsea and North Towers include basic amenities like complimentary Wi-Fi access, a flat-screen TV and a minifridge. The rest of the guest rooms are a bit bare but provide the essentials, like beds, a small TV and a bathroom. Still, recent guests genuinely love the property’s updated style, and they say that the hotel is looking better than ever.

Beds are terribly lop sided, carpets are dirty, Nothing is convenient, everything has an up charge which would not be a problem if was well done. The staff were kind and polite. The only good asset this place has. Will NEVER go here again. Go to ocean instead.

It was a great day/night trip. Check in was easy , room was clean and gaming was fun. There are many choices of restaurants/eating places, entertainment and within walking distance to boardwalk. Will be back! Hopefully next time it will be more financially fun and rewarding.

Excellent staff a great room with a view. Not a far walk or ride to the. Outlets. Great food a Carminnes restaurant. I will definitely come back.

Great for families!

The room is very clean; front desk and concierge are very helpful. The family fun arcade is best for the kids while the adults do their business. Overall stay is great !

All the fun in one place

Awesome place for any taste. From the casino to the shows there's always something to do. The restaurants are plenty, even for the most difficult to please can find something good here. The casino has hundreds of games to fit anyone's taste. I would recommend Tropicana highly.
