Slowdive Announces Spring 2024 North American Tour with Drab Majesty

  • December 6, 2023
  • post-punk.com

Following their successful fall 2023 tour supporting their long-awaited fifth studio album,  “Everything Is Alive,” British shoegaze heroes Slowdive are poised to continue captivating their devoted fanbase with a new set of tour dates in 2024. The album, released on September 1, 2023, has been a commercial triumph and critical darling, securing top ten spots in several European countries, including Belgium, Germany, the Netherlands, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom. Notable singles from the album, such as “Kisses,” “Skin in the Game,” “The Slab,” and “Alife,” have further cemented Slowdive’s reputation for creating deeply textured and emotionally engaging music.

The spring 2024 tour will see Slowdive returning to the US, building on the momentum of their fall 2023 tour. This time, they’re set to headline the Sick New World festival and perform in several cities missed in their previous run. Anticipation is high for shows in Texas (Austin, Houston, Dallas), the Southwest (Phoenix, Albuquerque), New Orleans, Kansas City, Atlanta, and the unique subterranean venue, The Caverns, in Tennessee.

Enhancing the tour’s allure is the inclusion of Drab Majesty as the opening act. Known for their distinct post-punk and goth-infused sound, Drab Majesty gained recent acclaim with their EP “ An Object in Motion.” The EP’s lead single, “Vanity,” featuring Slowdive’s Rachel Goswell, has been particularly well-received, offering a rare blend of Goswell’s ethereal vocals with Drab Majesty’s darker tones.

In September, the band released ‘Everything Is Alive’, their first album in six years, following their 2017 self-titled album. The eight track album was dedicated to vocalist Rachel Goswell’s mother and drummer Simon Scott’s father, who passed in 2020. In a press release, vocalist and guitarist Neil Halstead commented on the album’s tone, stating: “It wouldn’t feel right to make a really dark record right now. The album is quite eclectic emotionally, but it does feel hopeful.”

The album was previewed with two singles, namely ‘Kisses’ and ‘Alife’ . On the latter track, Halstead praised collaborator Shawn Everett’s mixing contributions. “Shawn Everett did a really nice job with the mix,” he said. “We tried so many times to figure out a good mix by ourselves and couldn’t do it . . . it sort of had us beaten until Shawn stepped in.”

Recent tour reviews

I'm a big fan of the band, my expectations were sky high. They started playing songs from the last album, which I love, but nevertheless the energy was very low. It was leaving me cold. Until they played one of their greatest classics. From that moment I began to float (and I think I was not the only one) throughout the room. Heavenly Experience.

Okay... So this is actually my first time seeing any shoegaze band live... But from what I have seen about other major shoegaze bands on the Internet I can guarantee that Slowdive is a first-rate watch. Everything from the playing to the lighting were done impeccably and to the taste. Rachel and Niel were excellent performers, but I must own that my favourite musician of the group was Nick the bassist. The man's entirely of his own world and class. When he's on stage he's so drowned in his own playing it's as if no shit of this world can ever touch him. I also had a quick exchange with the band after they came off the stage. All five of them were nice and interesting to talk to, especially Rachel. Anyway, I guess I now consider myself a total "Slowdivemaniac", if there ever is such a word.

i have only heard of slowdive recently, and decided to go to their concert, i liked the music and the visuals, it would go see them again, overall a good show.

the only negative was that the vocals were a bit drowned out, not sure if that was due to acoustics at the venue or sound control. Rachel Goswell has a great voice, so it would have been nice to hear her better

Slowdive Announce New 2024 U.S. Tour Dates

Everything is alive out now via dead oceans.

Legendary ’90s shoegazers Slowdive released a new album, everything is alive , back in September via Dead Oceans. Now they have announced some new 2024 U.S. tour dates. They go down next April and May. Tickets go on sale this Friday, December 8, at 10 a.m. local time. Check them all out below.

Slowdive’s line-up remains Neil Halstead (vocals, guitar, keyboards), Christian Savill (guitar), Nick Chaplin (bass), Rachel Goswell (vocals), and Simon Scott (drums, electronics).

Everything is alive is the band’s first new album in six years. Previously Slowdive shared the album’s first single, “kisses,” via a music video. “Kisses” was one of our Songs of the Week . Then they shared its second single, “skin in the game,” and third single, “the slab.” Both tracks made our Songs of the Week list in a special playlist we put together. The album’s fourth single, “alife,” was shared via an animated music video and also made our Songs of the Week list.

Halstead had this to say about “kisses” and the album as a whole in a previous press release: “It wouldn’t feel right to make a really dark record right now. The album is quite eclectic emotionally, but it does feel hopeful.”

Everything is alive is the band’s fifth album and the follow-up to 2017’s self-titled album , which was their first full-length album in 22 years and first since the band reformed. It was #4 on our Top 100 Albums of 2017 list.

The new album is dedicated to Goswell’s mother and Scott’s father, as they both died in 2020. “There were some profound shifts for some of us personally,” Goswell said in the previous press release.

The record began with Halstead acting as writer and producer, working from home, and he initially saw the album as a “more minimal electronic record,” but once the rest of the band got involved it became more aligned with their signature shoegaze/dream-pop sound.

“As a band, when we’re all happy with it, that tends to be the stronger material. We’ve always come from slightly different directions, and the best bits are where we all meet in the middle,” Halstead said.

Goswell added: “Slowdive is very much the sum of its parts. Something unquantifiable happens when the five of us come together in a room.”

The album was recorded over the course of several years, starting in 2020 at Courtyard Studio, where the band have recorded before, but also in various other places. Shawn Everett (The War On Drugs, Alvvays, SZA) mixed the album in 2022.

Slowdive Add Tour Dates, Share Video for New Song “Alife”: Watch

By Nina Corcoran

Slowdive band

Prior to the release of their new album, Everything Is Alive , this Friday (September 1), Slowdive have announced a series of 2024 tour dates and shared the video for their new song “Alife.” Find those dates and the new video below.

“‘Alife’ is one of the first tunes we finished for the record,” Neil Halstead said in a statement. “Shawn Everett did a really nice job with the mix. We tried so many times to figure out a good mix by ourselves and couldn’t do it… it sort of had us beaten until Shawn stepped in. We decided if he could handle that one he could probably do the whole record. Our friend Jake Nelson did a really nice animation for this song; it takes some of the imagery from the artwork and digs a little deeper into that.”

Everything Is Alive follows 2017’s Slowdive and features “ Kisses ,” “ Skin in the Game ,” and “ The Slab .”

It was a more triumphant indie rock comeback tale than anyone could have expected. In 2014, almost 20 years after they broke up, British shoegaze icons Slowdive reformed.

This itself wasn't especially novel, plenty of their peers had done the same. And no one was especially surprised that the band's classic works still sounded brilliant at the live shows they played upon getting back together.

The reunion became exceptional when they released a new album, 2017's Slowdive , that was arguably as good as anything the band crafted in their initial existence.

With that new album came some of the most extensive touring the band had ever done, including a long-awaited maiden trip to Australia as part of the Laneway Festival in 2018.

Touring Australia wasn't really considered a viable prospect for the band in the 90s. Fact is, they weren't sure anyone down here cared.

"We were purely focused on Europe and North America," bassist Nick Chaplin says. "We weren't really aware of whether we had fans in that part of the world or not. Obviously, it's a lot easier now. People connect to bands a lot more easily than they did in the 90s."

The reunion wasn't really meant to go like this. Much as they enjoyed playing together when they first reformed, there was no consideration that Slowdive would become an ongoing concern.

"Everybody was juggling full time jobs," Chaplin says. "Initially, it was just a few concerts over one summer and then, if things went well, maybe we'd try and write some new music. Christian [Savill] our guitarist worked at a tech company for about two years through that period.

"Nobody was like, 'Oh, should we try and do this full time?' I mean we all wanted to do it full time. But it's just whether we could make it work. Because, you know, in our 40s, everyone's got responsibilities and mortgages and kids.

"This is a longer period of time in the band than we were together in the 90s. It's weird to think about it like that."

After they made the record and saw the demand for live dates around the world, they took the necessary leap of faith. Slowdive was going to be their focus for the foreseeable future.

"We were looking at the kind of venues that were being booked and we just thought, 'Well, if we don't take a chance on this now, then when are we ever going to take a chance on it?' Luckily, it's worked out for us so far, fingers crossed."

While appreciative of the overwhelmingly positive response their comeback album received – we called it the sixth best album of the year – Chaplin knows the band will have to work to get that same recognition again.

"There was a lot of goodwill for that record," he says. "I'm sure there's still goodwill out there, but we're not a novelty anymore.

"I think we all feel that a little bit more pressure on us this time around. Whereas before, we didn't really have anything to prove. So we'll see."

New songs, new fans

Songwriter, vocalist, and guitarist Neil Halstead recently let slip that Slowdive have finished working on their fifth album.

"I don't know what I'm allowed to say," Chaplin says when asked about the new record.

"I think it's a progression, but it's not a massive leap. It's still recognisably the band. I think we're all really happy with it."

Today the band have shared the new single 'Kisses', their first new music in six years and first taste of their new album everything is alive , which will be out in September.

It's a typically dreamy piece of indie rock that doesn't stray as far from the band's typical sound as some may have expected.

Halstead had said that he initially brought a lot of electronic-based music to the band, and Chaplin says the rest of the band processed those ideas and turned them into something that closer resembled the Slowdive fans are familiar with.

"I think Neil probably wanted to push it in a more leftfield direction," Chaplin says.

"He's sung and played guitar for so long now that I think he gets a bit fed up with that side of things. Like a lot of artists, he's discovered modular synths and analog electronics and stuff, and I think he wanted to bring more of that stuff in.

"But when the five of us get together, although you can throw elements of that in, there's always going to be something that makes Slowdive what it is, which is the five individuals. So, the rest of us probably reined it in a little bit so that it ends up being more like a Slowdive record than maybe Neil would have liked.

"But he's talented enough to make those sorts of records either on his own or with other projects."

The band enlisted help from Canadian engineer Shawn Everett, who's helped countless artists – SZA, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Adele, to name a few – make their records sound incredible.

"He brought kind of a different perspective to making the record sound a certain way," Chaplin says.

"Aside from two songs, we've worked with him at the end to do the mixes. That did bring a more… I don't want to say commercial sound, but it does sound a bit more grown up, I think. We're in our 50s now. We're not teenagers anymore."

Some of their fans are though.

Slowdive, along with a hefty handful of their 90s indie rock peers, have captured the hearts of teenagers in recent years.

"In 2014, it was primarily people that remembered us from the 90s. But even then, there was a cluster of much younger people, and quite a good male-to-female ratio as well.

"A lot of indie gigs can be quite, as we say, cock heavy, and we found that our audience was definitely not. Obviously having Rachel as, like, the front person sort of helps bring in female audience, and maybe the type of music does as well.

"Now, it's almost like the majority has swung closer to younger people.

"My daughter is 12. And she's like, 'Oh, yeah, my friends know your band', and not because of who I am. We're on their Spotify playlists alongside Phoebe Bridgers and people like that. It's definitely swung more that way, which is great. I mean, you can't ask for anything more than that."

A fresh fan base would help keep any band young, though Slowdive have no interest in alienating the people who've been with them for decades.

"We've always tried to be to be less about the legacy, and more about being a contemporary band that appeals to whoever, really," Chaplin says.

"That's not to say that we don't welcome the fans from the 90s. Of course we do. Because we are those people. But it's nice to have new people coming in as well."

You might expect this phenomenon to continue as Slowdive music appears in some key TV programs in the near future.

"We've never had any real high-profile syncs, but we do have a couple coming up for shows that are quite popular with the kids," Chaplin reveals.

"We're always happy to consider those things provided the subject is not hugely inappropriate. It's quite fun, especially if you've got kids, because that gives them real kudos at school, that their dad's got some music on some hit Netflix show."

As with most bands who formed decades ago, earning the praise of their kids is just as important – and far more challenging – than winning over critics or fans.

"All our kids think we're just a bunch of losers, you know?" Chaplin says. "They're probably not far off the mark.

"But when something happens that makes them realise, 'Oh, actually, Dad's not in a complete loser band. They might not be Phoebe Bridgers, but…' it's quite funny seeing their reaction. They're kind of shocked that that actually you might be in a band that people care about."

Why Slowdive might not break up again

To have Slowdive back in Australia this July really is a treat. Before this tour, the band's only performance in 2023 will be at the iconic Glastonbury festival (as well as a warm up show). Before that, they'd played just nine shows in the past five years.

Eight of those were last year, when the band played a string of festival dates. Chaplin says the elongated break didn't seem to affect the band's live chemistry.

"I think we just slipped back into it," he says.

"It's always a struggle the first few days in the rehearsal room, nobody can remember anything. These songs that we've been playing for like 30 years, we can't remember how to start them, can't remember the words. But you get over that."

Coming back this time certainly felt a lot more natural than when they first reconvened back in 2014.

"It's more of a routine now," Chaplin says. "It's what we do now. We don't have day jobs anymore, whereas in 2014, we were like, 'Oh, we've got to book a couple of days off work'.

Everybody was really focused, in 2014, just to get an hour's worth of material. You know, the greatest hits, if you like, that we could play that people would want to hear. So we just concentrated on that. Whereas now, we've got to try and mix it up a little bit.

"I mean, people will want to hear 'When The Sun Hits', they want to hear 'Alison', they want to hear, 'Catch The Breeze', all that old stuff, but you can't just keep rolling that out every year, you've got to mix it up a bit. It's a bit more challenging now to keep it fresh, I suppose."

"We're all much more mature now," he says. "We all get on. We don't really hang out socially outside of the band, because we are so spread out all over the country. We stay in touch on WhatsApp and send each other stupid messages.

"I just don't think anything would break us up like it did in the 90s.

"I think it's possible that, maybe at some point, some of us might be like, 'Look, I need to have a break from this for a couple of years', and then we'd probably end up picking it up again down the road. I don't see us like having a big dramatic end."

As for why it's easier to keep Slowdive together now than it was in the mid-90s, it comes down to making sure the bills can stay paid.

"I hate to bring it down to cold, hard cash, but we are able to make a living from it now," Chaplin admits.

"We're not super wealthy, I live in an area outside Reading where everyone around me is probably more well off than I am, but they're all going into London on the train every day and sitting at a desk.

"Back in the 90s, we didn't make any money out of it at all. It was really hard to find rent. But it doesn't matter when you're 19, you're doing it for the for the craic, aren't you? Whereas now we've got families."

They also find general standards around the music industry to be a bit more accommodating than they were back in the band's first run.

"Everything is easier now," Chaplin says. "Gigs are easier. When we came back in 2014, we couldn't believe how nice it was playing gigs compared to how it was in the 90s.

"We can't complain about anything, we're super privileged to do what we do. And I think everybody just keeps that in their heads."

Slowdive returns with new album, first single “Kisses” — and North American tour dates

Shoegaze titans Slowdive today announced they’ll release their fifth album, Everything Is Alive , this September and it’s preceded by the dreamy first single “Kisses” — which you can hear below — and will be supported by a just-announced North American tour this fall.

The Dead Oceans label will release the nine-song album on Sept. 1 — it’s the band’s second post-reunion record — and it can be preordered now in a variety of vinyl, CD and cassette formats , as well as digitally .

The band’s 15-date North American tour — which follows summer dates in the U.K. Europe, Australia, New Zealand and Japan — opens Sept. 23 in Toronto and continues through a Los Angeles date on Oct. 14, and it will be followed by six dates in the U.K. and Ireland in late October and early November.

See the full tour dates below. Tickets for the newly announced shows go on sale at 10 a.m. local time Friday, June 23. More details at slowdiveofficial.com .

The new album is described by the label as featuring “the duality of a familiar internal language mixed with the exaltation of new beginnings. Everything is Alive is transportive, searching and aglow, the work of a classic band continuing to pitch its unmistakable voice to the future.”

The band — vocalists and guitarists Rachel Goswell and Neil Halstead, guitarist Christian Savill, bassist Nick Chaplin and drummer Simon Scott — started work on what was envisioned as a “more minimal electronic record,” the label says, but eventually gravitated back toward its “signature reverb-drenched guitars, but that first concept seeped into the compositions.”

Speaking of that process, Halstead says: “As a band, when we’re all happy with it, that tends to be the stronger material. We’ve always come from slightly different directions, and the best bits are where we all meet in the middle.” Goswell adds: “Slowdive is very much the sum of its parts. Something unquantifiable happens when the five of us come together in a room.”

Below, check out the new single “Kisses,” the album’s full tracklist and artwork — and Slowdive’s tour dates.

Very exciting news! Can’t wait to seem them live again. New single is lovely.

' src=

Yes I have loved their post-reunion work! Most excellent.

I saw them last time out, doesn’t look like there’s a good option for me this tour. Oh well!

' src=

I REALLY wanted to like this, but it just sounds like the shit that’s been trotted out over the last dozen years by people far less talented that Slowdive.

Be YOU, not the Millenials or Zs who are simply parroting you.

NYC 5 Boro Bike Tour 2024: What cyclists need to know about riding the Staten Island Ferry

M ay 1—STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — On Sunday, May 5, the Staten Island Ferry will once again be called upon to bring cyclists back to Manhattan after the TD NYC Five Boro Bike Tour.

Last year, over 30,000 cyclists participated in the event, with many of them opting to take the ferry back home.

The 40-mile bike tour spans the city's five boroughs, beginning in Lower Manhattan and traveling briefly into the Bronx, before heading to Queens, Brooklyn and finally crossing the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge to conclude near the St. George Ferry Terminal.

Ferry crews are in for a busy day as the big orange boat offers the quickest way for Staten Islanders to reach the starting line and for everyone else to return to other parts of the city after completing the course.

The Staten Island Ferry will provide 30-minute service from 6 to 11 a.m. on Sunday. After that, the boat will run on a 15-minute schedule from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. The ferry will then return to its regularly scheduled 30-minute service from 6 p.m. onward.

Bike New York, organizers of the Five Boro Bike Tour, noted that lines to take the ferry back to Manhattan could be long starting from the the early afternoon.

All cyclists must board the boat on the lower level at both the Whitehall Terminal in Manhattan and the St. George Terminal, located at 1 Bay St. on Staten Island.

Riders must dismount and walk their bicycle while in the waiting area and when boarding and departing the boat. Riding on and off the boat is prohibited.

All bicycles must be stored in the designated area on the lower level of each vessel.

The Staten Island Ferry is free of charge for all passengers and bicycles.

The Department of Transportation, the agency that operates the Staten Island Ferry, is not responsible for any stolen or damaged bicycles.

Riders may be subject to security screenings at the terminal.

Slowdive – SOLD OUT 22nd February 2024

Time: 19:00 - 23:00, price: £30 + bf, fkp scorpio presents slowdive + whitelands   14 + (under 16s must be accompanied by an adult).

The fifth album from shoegaze giants Slowdive contains the duality of a familiar internal language mixed with the exaltation of new beginnings. everything is alive is transportive, searching and aglow, the work of a classic band continuing to pitch its unmistakable voice to the future. Six years after the group’s monumental self-titled album, everything is alive finds Slowdive—vocalists and guitarists Rachel Goswell and Neil Halstead, guitarist Christian Savill, bassist Nick Chaplin, and drummer Simon Scott—locating evermore contours of its immersive, elemental sound.

The new record began with Halstead in the role of writer and producer, working on demos at home. Experimenting with modular synths, Halstead originally conceived of everything is alive as a “more minimal electronic record.” Slowdive’s collective decision-making ultimately drew the group back towards their signature reverb-drenched guitars, but that first concept seeped into the compositions. “As a band, when we’re all happy with it, that tends to be the stronger material,” Halstead says. “We’ve always come from slightly different directions, and the best bits are where we all meet in the middle.” The convergence of five unique characters has made the sound. “Slowdive is very much the sum of its parts,” Goswell adds. “Something unquantifiable happens when the five of us come together in a room.”

The group’s projected studio sessions for everything is alive, in April 2020, were naturally scrapped, and when the group finally did meet up, six months later, at Courtyard Studio, where they’ve historically recorded, the mood was jubilant. (Finally, they had a proper reason to leave the house.) That was the beginning of a multi-year recording process, which moved from Oxfordshire and into the Wolds of Lincolnshire and back to Neil’s own Cornish studio before extending into February 2022, when the band brought in mixer Shawn Everett (The War On Drugs, SZA, Alvvays) to mix six of the record’s eight tracks.

Owing to their deep history, there’s a palpable familial energy to Slowdive in 2023. everything is alive is dedicated to Goswell’s mother and Scott’s father, who both died in 2020. “There were some profound shifts for some of us personally,” Goswell says. Those crossroads are reflected in the many-layered emotional tenor of Slowdive’s music; everything is alive is heavy with experience, but each note is poised, wise, and necessarily pitched to hope. Its unique alchemy subtly embodies both sadness and gratitude, groundedness and uplift. Reflecting on “kisses,” which may be Slowdive’s surest pop moment yet, Halstead said, “It wouldn’t feel right to make a really dark record right now. The album is quite eclectic emotionally, but it does feel hopeful.”

everything is alive, is exactly what the title suggests: an exploration into the shimmering nature of life and the universal touch points within it. Spanning psychedelic soundscapes, pulsating 80’s electronic elements and John Cale inspired journeys, the album lands immediately as something made for the future; which figures, as their fanbase has grown younger and younger as time has gone on, and their influence on forward thinking musical artists continues to prevail.

For a genre that is often thought of as divisive, and often warrants introspection, here Slowdive show their craft as the masters of it by pushing it outwards, beyond the singular; the end result being a record which feels as emotional and cathartic as it is optimistic.

How Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s Relationship Has Changed After Spending Tour Break Together

preview for Taylor Swift’s Iconic Career Evolution

As Taylor Swift gets ready for the next leg of her international Eras Tour, she is also preparing to part ways with boyfriend Travis Kelce again. The pair have been dating since 2023, and have had to manage very different and distant obligations. Luckily, a source says that “all the time they’ve spent together recently” in between tour dates has “deepened their bond.”

The source added that the couple took “a trip up the California coast” after Swift’s new album release of The Tortured Poets Department to “celebrate privately,” saying, “They’re making the most of the time they have together.”

The pair were not entirely alone—they were seen in Carmel-by-the-Sea with friends Gigi Hadid and Bradley Cooper, as well as Kelce’s mom, Donna.

Another source previously said that during this break from work, the pair were “focused on rest and recuperation and relaxing at home and having low-key and chill time together.”

“They are enjoying movie nights in her home theater, catching up on films and shows they’ve missed,” they continued, explaining that the couple is working on “scheduling” the upcoming long distance and their various projects so that they can “see each other as much as possible” because they “don’t want to spend too much time apart.”

Kelce is spending the NFL offseason in Los Angeles after the Kansas City Chiefs’ Super Bowl win in February, taking time to see Swift in both Singapore and Australia when she was performing. He is currently filming a new game show called Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity.

Tiger Woods: Scottie Scheffler defying logic, gets real on PGA Tour domination

Scheffler is doing things golf fans have not seen since Woods accomplished them nearly 20 years ago.

Hero World Challenge - Final Round, Tiger Woods, Scottie Scheffler

Tiger Woods joined NBC’s Today Show Wednesday morning. He sat with Carson Daly for 10 minutes and tackled a number of topics . They divulged their relationship as young golfers playing together in Southern California, Woods explained why he wears red and detailed the different relationships he has with each of his children.

But Daly kicked things off asking about the current history being made in professional golf.

Scottie Scheffler and Nelly Korda have combined to win nine of their last 10 starts, making their own marks in history in the process.

Woods was asked his thoughts on what Scheffler is accomplishing.

Golf connects so many people. Imagine MTV’s most famous face spent his early days competing against Tiger Woods in California. It’s just the best game ever. #golf pic.twitter.com/Nq0D4FFlds — Keith Stewart (@KJStewartpga) May 1, 2024

“For Scottie, his iconic foot movement belies what the club is actually doing through the golf ball,” Woods said.

Of course, he is referencing the viral videos of Scheffler’s feet sliding all over the place through impact. Yet, somehow he is the best ball striker on the planet and it is not even close.

“You just sit back and watch ball flight, there is something different about his. It’s just so consistent and he works it both ways.

“It’s just a matter if he putts decent, he is going to win. If he putts great, he is blowing away fields. If he has a bad putting week, he contends.

“He’s just that good a ball striker,” said Woods.

As simple as it sounds, Tiger is spot on.

Think back to 2023. Golf fans were wondering as Scheffler’s putting woes continued, ‘imagine if Scottie could putt.’

We are all finding out now what happens when he is strong on the greens. As Woods said, when he putts well, the tournament is over before it even starts. Even if Scheffler putts just decently, he is still winning tournaments.

We have not seen this level of domination on the PGA Tour since prime Tiger Woods nearly 20 years ago. The numbers back that up, too.

Scheffler has the best strokes gained tee-to-green numbers since Woods.

The Masters - Final Round, Scottie Scheffler

Scheffler has won four of his last five starts. The last player to do that was Tiger in the 2004-2005 season.

Of course, Woods went on to win three more, making it seven of eight. But that is why he is widely regarded as one of the two greatest golfers to ever live .

Scheffler has a long way to go to earn any type of distinction like that. But if he continues this torrid pace, he is sure to climb the ranks historically.

Ryan Gosling gives subtle shoutout to Eva Mendes on press tour with T-shirt

Thanks for contacting us. We've received your submission.

This Ken is wearing his heart on his sleeve.

Ryan Gosling showed his support for Eva Mendes’ career during an interview with the UK’s Hits Radio on Monday, choosing to wear a shirt that promoted his partner’s upcoming project as he chatted about his own new movie.

The “Barbie” actor, 43, sported an ivory tee reading “Desi, Mami and the Never-Ending Worries” — the title of the Skura Sponge owner’s debut children’s book ($20) — as he sat next to his “The Fall Guy” co-star, Emily Blunt, to chat about their action comedy.

Ryan Gosling

The illustrated book, which releases September 17, tells “the story of a little girl facing endless scary worries” at bedtime and how her mother helps her overcome them.

While Mendes, 50, has been taking a break from acting, she’s now adding “author” to her résumé, telling People , “Desi, Mami and the Never-Ending Worries is a love letter to my kids and yours.”
