Both my boyfriend and I enjoyed the ducktour a lot! This was my first time going on a ducktour and it was an interesting experience. Our tourguide (unfortunately I forgot the name) was very friendly and funny and he explained the history of different attractions in Singapore throughout the tour. Got a lot of great photos that I would've not been able to get on land otherwise!

It's nice to be a tourist for a day! Hopped onto the Duck Tour, an tour on land and along Singapore River for an hour. You will get to see the Singapore Flyer, ArtScience Museum, The Floating Stadium, Helix Bridge, The Esplanade, The Merlion, Marina Bay Sands Hotel, View of Singapore's CBD area, Gardens by the Bay and The Flower Dome. It's a good way to see a glimpse of Singapore's main places of attraction before you decide to visit any of them. Tips: ~ Sit at the front so that you can hear the commentary from the guide explaining the history of Singapore and the attractions as you cruise past

Is it worth it? For both tourists and locals, I'd say yes! For me, the true value is in the water part of the tour, because you get to go into the reservoir and get some unique shots of attractions like The Singapore Flyer, Marina Bay Sands, ArtScience Museum, and the Merlion. The land tour was just okay, just a quick overview of the civic district. James, our tour guide, spoke slowly and clearly, and had some good factoids about Singapore that not even I knew about. My mom and I bought the Duck and Singapore Flyer ticket combo. At the price of $67 per person (May 2016) you only save $3. But it does come with a free one-way transfer on one of the hop on/hop off buses so you can easily get to the Flyer after your Duck Tour. Other things to note: - The guide will take a photo of you and your party on your own cameras halfway through the tour, free of charge. - No food/drink allowed, but water should be okay. It's hot as hell, after all. - Guess it depends on what day you go, but I didn't get a breeze, even though we were cruisin' in the water. Prepare to sweat it out. - It doesn't matter which side you sit on; the duck will do a u-turn in the reservoir so both sides will be able to get good photos of everything during the water tour.

The ducktours is a great way to take a visitor around Singapore. We bought the duck tours and flyer ticket. Even thought they tell you to line up for the duck about 10 min beforehand, everyone seems to be super "kiasu" (aka scared to lose) and would line up way before the tour departs. I would recommend lining up at least 15 min early. The tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and was able to recite the times of the water show in the esplanade and the times of the shows at Gardens by the Bay by heart. I was pretty impressed! His English was ok.

Need to beware of a few things here. First of all, *don't* sit anywhere near the back, as the engine is way too loud to hear much. Because the engine is so loud, the tour guide often repeats material on the way back (which I didn't mind since I missed so much). Also beware of the Sentosa package, because there can be a long line (1hr for the very short Segway ride) for things on a busy day, and the individual events can close 1hr before actually closing time. Not a nice surprise! Audio problems notwithstanding, it *is* nice to relax and take in all the sights and get some narration about the city. Our tour guide was a trip! You could title her monologue "Grandma's Advice on Money" in Singapore. As she went on, I found it more and more entertaining although with a tinge of sadness in what it might imply about the culture. Conveniently located next to Esplanade MRT and Suntec Mall, where it's easy to get a bite or pick up some groceries/sundries at the Giant Hyper market. Price was higher than I would've expected, but I guess things get expensive when paying for the whole family.

Singapore tourism sure has its act together. They've combined all the tours into the same company so they can upsell, cross-sell, and basically offer all their packages under one roof. What it meant for us was one-stop shopping for all the touristy stuff Singapore has to offer. We opted for the most expensive package, as it was basically the cost of the DUCKtours and Singapore Flyer combined. Useful to also use the unlimited 3 routes of Hop on Hop off buses to get around for 2 days, but we didn't have time to also do the water taxi and museum visits. So we basically only took advantage of: the HiPPO River Cruise, the Hop on Hop off topless city sightseeing buses, the Singapore Flyer, the Singapore DUCKtour, and the bus to Sentosa (we took the cable car back on our own). $69 per adult gets you the following 12 tours & attractions: 1. The Singapore DUCKtours ($33) 2. Singapore Flyer ($30) 3. Topless City Sightseeing Tour 4. The Original Tour 3. HiPPO River Cruise 4. Bumble Bee Water Taxi 5. Sentosa & 2 Integrated Resorts Rhino Feeder 6. Chinatown Heritage Centre 7. Asian Civilisations Museum 8. Singapore Art Museum 9. Singapore Philatelic Museum 10. Botanic/Orchid Garden

I enjoyed the the ride around the city via the water. Views were beautiful. Great opportunity to take photos of the city from the water. My only criticism, the motor is very loud and it was incredibly difficult to hear the commentary. Would recommend this but sit up front away from the motor. B

We just had a poor service experience with Hippo tours. Be aware that if you buy the HippoPass Card along with your tour that not all attractions accept the card and you must obtain attraction tickets through Hippo/Duck Tours directly or at random locations. This would have been fine had they informed us. We were not provided the pass guidebook or told this information even though we specifically asked about it. (We were only provided the tour map and coupon book, neither of which had this info. BTW - this info is not explained in their website either as far as I could find. In fact they say part of the value of the card is that you DO NOT have to get tickets.) We showed up at Skypark in the evening & had to alter our plans. When we provided this feedback to the Suntec location they essentially accused us of lying. That they MUST have provided us the info and guidebook. They did not. We were just giving them service feedback and not asking for anything - but they did not apologize and continued to assert that they MUST have given us the guidebook/information. Very poor customer service experience. Too bad - because the tour itself was great! Customer service tip - don't accuse your customer who just spent $300 SG with you of lying. Honestly one of the worst customer service interactions I've had in my life.

I absolutely loved the Ducktour I went on this morning. My family and I sat at the front so we could hear everything our guide had to say. She was extremely knowledgeable and recited everything from memory, which was incredible! It was very cool to be in a vehicle that's capable of driving itself into water. The tour was very informative and fun. I definitely recommend trying it, whether you're a local or a visitor.

As some others have mentioned on here, the Hippo Pass Card was a waste of a purchase. NOT RECOMMENDED! We had bought the 5 event card thinking that we simply show up and show the card to get in..... what we found out later and that the reps selling the card did not inform us is that you must obtain tickets through Hippo/Duck tours directly or go to another random location to the park or tour you want to do. This cost us time and frustration!! We missed the Botanical Garden light show due to this as we arrived just in time for tickets or so we though only to find out that we were directed to another location to buy the tickets. My advice, buy tickets either directly through vendor/park or look online as sometimes there are discounts through park website for 10-15% off.
