Legendary rock band The Who have announced their first European dates in seven years. The shows will see the band performing with a full orchestra each night. The iconic band’s upcoming European tour will feature the band bringing their orchestral rock show to Berlin, Paris, Florence and Barcelona for the first time.

Pete Townshend , Roger Daltrey and band will be performing music from throughout the band’s nearly 60-year career, including sections devoted to classic albums Tommy and Quadrophenia as well as other beloved Who tracks and songs from their 2019 WHO album, their first studio release in 13 years.

The 2023 European shows follow this year’s highly acclaimed The Who Hits Back! tour of Canada and the US, where the band shared the stage  with some of the finest orchestras in North America.

The 2023 European tour will feature THE WHO’s full live band comprised of guitarist/backup singer Simon Townshend , keyboardist Loren Gold , second keyboardist Emily Marshall , bassist Jon Button , drummer Zak Starkey and backing vocals by Billy Nicholls , along with orchestra conductor Keith Levenson , lead violinist Katie Jacoby and lead cellist Audrey Snyder .

Commenting on playing in Europe for the first time in almost a decade, Pete Townshend said, “It is wonderful that we can return to Europe after so long away, to play Berlin, Paris, Florence and Barcelona, four of my favourite cities in the world. We look forward to bringing our grand orchestral show which has received such great reviews so far and play some old-fashioned Who-style rock ’n’ roll songs from our back catalogue as well. We mix it all up in the most amazing evening of music: I have to say that this show is one that I personally enjoy as much as anything I have ever done in the 60 years I’ve been working with Roger. I so look forward to visiting these beautiful cities to see our old fans, and I hope we meet some new ones. We are so lucky to be able to spend an evening with you all.”

The Who wound up their The Who Hits Back! tour of the US in November this year, having wowed audiences in over thirty cities, with media and fans agreeing that the band were as good as, if not better than ever and that the orchestral arrangements, most of which were done by the legendary David Campbell , brought a new depth and excitement to Pete Townshend’s music.

Why ask to the Who to come to UK for a Tour? You should know that The Who is a English band and it will be in UK that their last dates will be take place. Maybe for a Summer festival this year or in 2023 ou 2024. Less probably in Netherlands, Germany or Scandinavia. But I really don’t know actually. If you love the Who you Can Come in Berlin, Paris, Barcelona, or Firenze especially if you live in Germany, Netherlands, Scandinavia whatever.

' src=

Rotterdam/Amsterdam Calling!!

' src=

Great to see the Who in Berlin. I always thought Waldbühne would be a great place for the best band in the world, Already got Tickets. Good to combine the trip from Stuttgart to Berlin to see my daughter in Berlin. Looking forward to the show. Hope that the venue will be packed

' src=

Kommen The Who auch mal, nach Österreich? Vielleicht nach Graz? Würde mich freuen, wenn Pete, Roger und Band mal, in die Steirische Landeshauptstadt kommen könnten! Bis jetzt waren The Who nur in Wien.

Translation: Will The Who ever come to Austria? Maybe to Graz? I would be happy if Pete, Roger and the band could come to the Styrian capital! Until now, The Who have only been in Vienna.

' src=

I guess I missed the North American dates? 🙁 would love to see you guys live, idk if I will ever get the chance… love The Who though!!!

' src=

Nederland kan ook! Amsterdam is een idee! Of België of Oberhausen.

' src=

Gents, In the past, early seventies en late sixties, you toured with a Dutch band, Golden Earring in the USA. Earring stopped in 2021 because of a serious illness (ALS) of George Kooymans. I thought that Pete and Roger might be interested in this information.

Peter Stiekema, Whofan since 1965. Hope to see you in London.

' src=

Still waiting to see you at Manchester Arena, what’s happened since 2021?

All 2021 UK tour dates were cancelled due to the pandemic and tickets refunded.

' src=

Any chance of any extra dates in Europe?

' src=

No Netherland? 🙁

' src=

BERLIN What a wonderful show and beautiful venue. Tears of joy and sadness – probably also a farewell.

Coldplay announces 2023 European tour dates

Stadium shows confirmed for UK and continental Europe

After completing their triumphant run of six sold out nights at London’s Wembley Stadium, Coldplay has announced further European and UK stadium shows for their Music Of The Spheres World Tour in summer 2023. The dates include the tour’s first visits to Portugal, Spain, Italy, Switzerland, Denmark, Sweden and the Netherlands, alongside UK shows in Manchester and Cardiff, staring in May 2023.

The new tour dates were teased via Easter eggs in the band’s new video for “Humankind,” taken from their No. 1 album, Music Of The Spheres , which premiered last week. To the excitement of the band’s eagle-eyed global following, the video also hinted at further shows being announced for southeast Asia and North America.

Tickets for the new European and UK shows will go on sale at 10 am local time on Thursday, August 25th via Ticketmaster .

Since the band’s record breaking tour began in Costa Rica in March 2022, more than four million tickets have been sold for the dates in Latin America, North America and Europe.

The tour has also been heralded for its groundbreaking set of sustainability initiatives which include a show powered by one hundred percent renewable energy in almost all locations. It features the world’s first tourable battery system which was made from 40 BMW electric car batteries; power bikes and kinetic dance floors allowing fans to help power the show; solar panels and wind turbines at every venue; a pledge to cut tour emissions by fifty percent; incentives to encourage fans to travel by green transport; and one tree planted for every ticket sold.

Coldplay Announce 2023 Tour Dates

By Matthew Strauss

Coldplay

Coldplay have announced 2023 dates on their world tour in support of Music of the Spheres . Next year, the band will perform in Portugal, Spain, the United Kingdom, Italy, Switzerland, Denmark, Sweden, and the Netherlands. Find Coldplay’s schedule and a trailer for the tour below.

Coldplay famously declined to tour in support of Everyday Life for environmental reasons. The band has set out to make the Music of the Spheres World Tour more sustainable, with a press releasing touting concerts powered entirely by renewable energy. For example, there have been solar panels and wind turbines at every venue to help power the shows.

Most awaited European concert tours happening

Posted on Last updated: 6 January 2024

Home » Music » Most awaited European concert tours happening

If Rolling Stones and Garth Brooks had the  most successful music tours  in 2021, this year, we’ve got even more exciting names that will perform amazing shows. But other approaching tours are expected to occur around Europe in places where the whole world will gather.

If you want to get tickets and ensure your place on these tours, purchasing them early is best. At the same, ensuring you’ve got accommodation and learning how to get around these cities is essential, especially if you’re coming from the US, Asia or other areas. If you’re into a particular artist, you can follow their socials and get early access to some of their concerts’ locations at a lower price.

Let’s get into it!

european tour concert 2023

Coldplay is one of the most known rock alternative bands around the world, most famous for songs such as  Speed of Sound, Clocks  or  Viva la Vida.  The London-based group was rewarded with multiple Grammys, and people compare its style with Radiohead and Oasis.

In 2023, Coldplay is doing a worldwide tour around Europe, the USA and Latin America. The concerts will start on the 17th of May in Portugal and will end on the 1st of October in the United States. The American locations are pretty near to each other, so if you’re coming from Boston, you might need to leave your car at the  Boston Logan airport parking .

Here are the European countries where Coldplay will sing:

  • Portugal (17-21 May)
  • Spain (24-28 May)
  • United Kingdom (31st May-7th June)
  • Italy (21-29 June)
  • Switzerland (1st and 2nd of July)
  • Denmark (5th and 6th of July)
  • Sweden (8-12 July)
  • Netherlands (15-19 July)

Metallica is one of the oldest rock bands in the world since it was founded in 1981. With multiple hits and impressive songs,  Enter Sandman  got to the top of the “ 500 Greatest Songs of all Time ”, while  Nothing Else Matters  entered the Billboard 200 as number one shortly after its release.

The 2023 Metallica world tour will primarily take place around Europe, but locations such as the US, Canada and Mexico are also on the list. The closest date to seeing Metallica is on the 13th of April in the Netherlands , but here are some other countries where you can find them:

  • France (17-19 May)
  • Germany (26-28 May)
  • United Kingdom (the 8th of June)
  • Finland (7-9 June 2024)
  • Poland (5-7 June 2024)
  • Spain (12-14 July 2024)
  • Mexico (20-29 September 2024)

The closest date to see Metallica in the US is on the fourth and sixth of August in East Rutherford. The nearest airport is in Boston, where you can get Logan airport parking in case you want to leave your car somewhere safe.

Depeche Mode

Depeche Mode is yet another old but gold band founded in 1980 that mainly focuses on post-punk, synthpop and industrial rock. The group originated from the UK and is currently on the list of “50 Bands that changed the world” and “100 Greatest Artists of All Time”.

Regarding the tour, Depeche Mode will get across the whole world, so you don’t have to worry about missing them. Most Big European cities were chosen as concert locations, while Canada, the US and Mexico are also on the list. Here’s where to get your ticket:

  • Netherlands (16-18 May)
  • Belgium (the 29th of May)
  • Germany (4-6 June)
  • Spain (the 8th of June)
  • France (22-24 June)
  • Romania (26th July)
  • Poland (2-4 August)

Bruce Springsteen

The American singer and songwriter Bruce Springsteen is known for his long-lasting and energetic concerts as well as impressive lyrics. Many of his singles reached the top 10 of the Billboard Hot 10, and almost all his albums were successful during his career.

His concert tour is not that expanded since, besides the US, Canada, Ireland and the UK, only a few European locations are set to be the locations for his concerts, like:

  • France (13-15 May)
  • Netherlands (25 and 27 May and the 11th of June)
  • Denmark (11-13 July)
  • Germany (the 21st of June and 15 and 23 July)
  • Austria (the 18th of July)

You can buy the tickets directly from his website, but some might need to be searched for on other third-party ticket vendors. Springsteen stated that he’s excited to see his “great and loyal fans” as he always valued the public.

Hans Zimmer

Hans Zimmer is famous for his unique soundtrack contribution to the most known movies and adaptations. He’s the one who composed music for  The Lion King, Dune  and  The Last Samurai . Hans reached the list of  Top 100 Living Geniuses.

In 2023, Hans Zimmer will be present mostly around Europe in the following cities:

  • Germany (the 23rd of April, the 9th of June)
  • Belgium (the 25th of April and the 22nd of June)
  • Italy (1-3 May)
  • France (6-9 May and 23-25 June)
  • Portugal (the 13th of May)
  • Spain (11-16 May)
  • Switzerland (22-23 May)
  • Poland (the 30th of May)
  • Czech Republic (the 2nd of June)
  • Austria (the 3rd of June)
  • Hungary (the 5th of June)
  • Slovakia (the 6th of June)
  • UK (14-16 June)
  • Ireland (the 18th of June)

How to prepare for traveling to Europe

If you’re outside the European Union, you might need to get your visa in check and analyze the price exchanges. While some European countries are relatively affordable, some leverage expensive accommodation and food, such as Austria, for example. At the same time, getting an adaptor and power strip might come in handy, as European adaptors are different from American ones.

What’s best in Europe is that you can get everywhere with cheap public transportation . Trains, buses and trams are everywhere so you won’t have to pay for taxis. The locals are usually welcoming, but it would be best to respect their culture and not be loud around cities. However, if you want to party before or after concerts, know that European bars and clubs are like no other!

Bottom line

This year is full of exceptional worldwide tours by excellent singers and bands. Regardless of the genre you listen to, the artists above are ageless and a staple in the music industry, so we recommend getting your tickets as soon as possible.

Latin pop singer Enrique Miguel Iglesias Preysler was born in Madrid, Spain on 8 May 1975. He grew up in Miami, Florida and has sold over a stunning 100 million records worldwide.

After attending the University of Miami for a period of time, Iglesias put his academic career on hold to pursue music. He signed with the label Fonovisa Records and released his debut album “Enrique Iglesias” on 12 July 1995. Prior to the release, Iglesias used the musical alias Enrique Martinez to hide his career plans from his affluent family. The album was received well in Europe, selling in Portugal and Italy.

Iglesias’s second and third albums “Vivir” in 1997 and “Cosas del Amor” in 1998 continued to boost his popularity. He went on to tour in Mexico and Latin America with the classic voices of Elton John, Bruce Springsteen and Billy Joel. That year, Iglesias’s efforts earned him an American Music Award in the Favorite Latin Artist category.

A deal with Interscope Records led to the successful crossover of Iglesias’s music into the English-speaking market. The label released “Escape” in 2001 with sales skyrocketing in the UK and the U.S. The singles “Hero,” “Escape,” and “Don’t Turn Off The Lights” received significant airtime in North America. In 1999 Enrique Iglesias single “Bailmos” was featured in the Will Smith film “Wild Wild West.” Prompted by the success of his records with Inerscope, Iglesias went on a worldwide tour, stopping at venues like NYC’s Radio City Music Hall and London’s Royal Albert Hall.

Returning to his Spanish roots, Iglesias recorded and released “Quizás” in 2002, which charted at No. 12 on the Billboard 200. The video for the single “Quizás” became widely requested on MTV and Iglesias performed the song in Spanish for Jay Leno on “The Tonight Show.” It was the first time a song was sung on Spanish on the show.

Billboard declared Enrique Iglesias the ‘King of Latin Pop.’ His bilingual records have led to success in both English-speaking and Spanish-speaking markets just like his contemporaries Juanes, Ricky Martin, and Gloria Estefan.

Live reviews

Although I have not seen the full 'Enrique Iglesias Experience,' I can assure you that he will put on a show. Whether it be hits that you can belt out along with the rest of the (mainly female) audience such as "Hero" or simply standing and appreciating the beauty of the spanish Enrique Miguel Iglesias Preysler. A man who has sold over 100 million records world wide will not be a let-down when it comes to performing. His caring heart will shine through and maybe bring tears to your eyes knowing that the previously mentioned "Hero" was sung to commemorate those lost at the 9/11 attacks. I would have loved to have witnessed the Enrique Iglesias (his english name translated to Henry Church) & Jennifer Lopez Tour in 2012 as I know that a huge show would have been put on, and looking at the pictures already makes me jealous. Whether you only know the hits or every lyric to every album, you are almost guaranteed to have a great time. Put any doubts aside and tick off from your bucket list - I have been to an Enrique Iglesias concert. In an arena or concert - you will have the time of your life and leave with a smile.

I'm a fan of Enrique Iglesias since his Spanish singing days. So I was hoping that he would play those classics, but he didn't, but still the show overall was FUN.

Enrique puts on a GREAT show, full of energy, everyone was dancing and it was very joyful. Enrique also does a lot of interacting with the crowd, an audience member nearly fell off the stands trying to touch him, so it was great. Granted, he didn't actually sing very much, he kind spoke/heavy breathing signing/let someone else sing/let the audience sing but it doesn't matter because overall the show was sooo much fun. Had me dancing even to the songs I dont like, that's how bad-ass his showmanship is.

If you go to see Enrique, go for him and his showmanship, don't go for the classic Spanish songs, because he is not playing those. Either way you will be entertained.

Awesome show!!! Enrique is excellent to see live. Enrique's concerts are the best concerts I have ever been to in my life! My second time to see him. Enrique is my all time favorite singer. He definitely gives it his all. He makes time for his fans. Even stopped with fans when show was over. Nice moves to Bailando. Some lingerie flung at him. Shots taken. Enrique is great craic too! If you are looking for a brilliant night out I would highly recommend Enrique Iglesias. Absolutely brilliant concert. Enrique is gracious and doesn't take it for granted. So genuine and generous. Best concert ever.

I went and saw Enrique when he came to the Washington State Fair a couple of years ago. I had always wanted to see him live because I heard that he was a riot in concert. I felt the electricity during his performance and it was great to know that I could actually go along with most of his songs and have fun. He engaged with the crowd and showed that actually he was happy to perform and be around some of his biggest fans. It was great to be reminded of my childhood and the early 2000s music that I still love today. Go Enrique! And keep on performing!

I've been to see him in Las Vegas and the hydro before last night was really bad should have been free he hardly sang mimed and when he sang it was awful done more running around throwing his arms in the air feeling up his backing singers breaks my heart to say never again £141.88 each for 4 tickets never felt robbed before and I've been to hundreds of gigs only people that enjoyed it didn't know what was going on they were all drunk sober people said the same as us totally disgusted

It was an absolutely amazing night! I loved every minute. Enrique was just awesome and so damn sweet. He is just the bestest. Can't wait for him to come back already. It was a great experience to be able to go to his concert. He really loves his fans and you can see it. He is also the most humble person ever. Wish I could have at least touched him. That would have defenitely made my whole year. Why can't he have more concerts in the UK? And also maybe backstage passes?

The show absolutely amazing. The guest were Chasing Abbey and they did a really good job warming us up. Enrique was totally amazing going all over the stage so everyone can get a chance to have a close look he also took someone with him on stage which I found to be so nice. He absolutely sang the entire 2 hrs he was out with no breaks.

This is the best concert I have ever attended and I have been to an Ed Sheeran concert.

I loved the show!!! It was awesome in so many ways!! He sang perfectly well his songs and I loved everything, but mostly his interaction with the public!! He was also stepping down from the stage to be in front of the people, to touch and hug them and even kiss! Then he brought someone on stage and offered them a drink, that's how you do it! Overall, it was an amazing concert and I hope he comes back soon!

  • But we really hope you love us.

I'm planning to spend $5,000 to see Taylor Swift in Europe with my kids. Our floor tickets, hotel, and flights are set to cost less than our nosebleed seats in the US did.

  • I saw Taylor Swift on the US leg of The Eras Tour, and two nosebleed seats cost us $5,000.
  • My daughter and I loved the show, so I scored us floor seats for one of Swift's Poland shows.
  • Our European trip includes three VIP Swift tickets and is set to be cheaper than our seats in the US.

Insider Today

When Taylor Swift first announced her Eras Tour , I laughed when I heard colleagues had cleared their work schedules to buy tickets.

I couldn't understand why they were looking for tickets for shows hours away. I liked a few of Swift's songs, but I wasn't a "Swiftie" and didn't understand the frenzy.

That all changed when my daughter started asking intensely for tickets . And once The Eras Tour started, it became clear that it was the concert of the century. It was also nearly impossible to get tickets.

Seeing the US tour was difficult and expensive, but the show turned me into a full-on Swiftie

I didn't want my kid to miss out on this generation-defining event, but I couldn't stomach spending $4,000 or more on the resale market for two nosebleed seats on top of travel costs to another city.

Fortunately, five cousins chipped in to buy my daughter tickets for her birthday.

My daughter, a devoted Swiftie, predictably loved every second of The Eras Tour. At first, I wasn't sure how I would get through a 3 ½-hour show by an artist I barely knew — but I left in awe of Swift's talent.

Related stories

In the weeks that followed, I listened exclusively to Swift. On a trip to Nashville, I sang my heart out to Swift's songs at the Country Music Hall of Fame. I wondered whether I would be able to see her perform again, this time going all in.

Getting tickets to see Swift in Poland was easier than I expected

As soon as Swift announced international dates on her tour in June, I took the first of many steps to get tickets to one of her shows abroad. I set my sights on a show in Warsaw, Poland, for several reasons.

My children and I are Polish citizens but have never set foot in the country. I've wanted to go for years, and snagging Swift tickets would allow me to finally make the trip. I reasoned that Warsaw was unlikely to be as popular as marquee destinations like Paris. It's also a less expensive city than many other international stops on The Eras Tour.

Also, tickets for the Warsaw show were not being sold through Ticketmaster. I found the idea of not having to deal with the company that botched sales to the US leg of the tour very appealing.

A few days before tickets went on sale, I got a code for the chance to buy tickets before they became available to the rest of the public. Based on how popular presales were in the US , I knew I was unlikely to get tickets, but I set an alarm for 5 a.m. anyway.

Much to my surprise, I was able to enter the ticket-buying portal right away. I scored three VIP floor seats for the first night of Swift's Eras Tour in Warsaw for less than $1,000. My daughter, my son, and I started making friendship bracelets immediately to exchange with other concert-goers, an Eras Tour tradition.

Our trip hasn't happened yet, but I already know it'll be worth it

Although tickets to the Warsaw show were not cheap, the total cost plus our European trip is set to be about the same as or less than the two nosebleed seats I got when I saw Swift in the US.

I hope to use credit-card points to book our flights, but even if I don't, I estimate the total cost of the trip could be from $4,000 to $5,000. This isn't significantly more than my family usually spends on our annual family vacation, and I have more than a year to save.

However, unlike other family vacations, this one comes with the chance to explore our roots and see a new part of the world. I never would have guessed that Swift would be what finally got me to Poland, but it's just one more reason for me to love her.

Aerosmith Announce Rescheduled Dates for Peace Out Farewell Tour

By Andy Greene

Andy Greene

Aerosmith have announced rescheduled dates for their Peace Out farewell tour, which was suspended in September 2023 because Steven Tyler fractured his larynx. This new leg kicks off Sept. 20 in Pittsburgh and wraps up Feb. 26 in Buffalo, New York. They’ll once again be joined by the Black Crowes.

The band announced plans to wrap their career with one final tour in May 2023, but they played a mere three shows before Tyler severely hurt his larynx. “I am heartbroken to not be out there with Aerosmith, my brothers, and the incredible Black Crowes, rocking with the best fans in the world,” he wrote in a message to fans. “I promise we will be back as soon as we can!”
