Isabelle is great, we had a problem finding a hotel during a recent holiday weekend for the family and our dog. Isabelle jumped right in and within hours had 2-3 recommendations for us to choose from. When we did make the decision she booked the stay, followed up just before our departure to check if we had any changes and then afterward to verify our experience was good. The hotel was perfect on both location, amenities, and welcoming to our dogs, (especially the cookies at the front desk). Using a travel agent in this world of do it yourself is a treasure. I wasted so many hours looking for suitable accommodations which I could have used to build my business, exercise, or anything but get frustrated combing through travel web sites which look the same!. It is a forgotten convenience which I will not forget again Thank you Isabelle!
What a pleasure to turn the hunt for best air fare and the details of travel arranging over to isabelle. I do enough of such hunting and attention to detail during work hours. My vacations begin the moment I turn travel arrangements over to Isabelle. Her communication & follow-up is outstanding. I highly recommend her services. Donna G
Isabelle, is the travel agent I use frequently because she arranges my travel plans in a professional and cost effective manner. She arranged all my hotels and airline connections just recently, for a trip to Peru. I prefer to not spend much time on the internet to search for that special deal. Isabelle, already has that special deal! I will continue to use the services of Isabelle Travel Genie in the future.
Isabelle really is the Travel GENIE! We have used her services on many occasions and she has always found us great rates at wonderful places. She also provides information about our destination that we had not even considered! There were a couple of times when local tour operators (one of them out of the country) suddenly made last minute changes to our itinerary. Isabelle proactively contacted them to make any transitions as smooth as possible for us - we didn't have to do a thing!! I have referred her to several friends for local and international travel. ALL of them just rave about her. Isabelle really thinks of everything and makes travel as painless as possible so all you have to do is ENJOY!
I have never used a travel agency before. But after looking at how complicated traveling to South America was... I wanted someone I could ask allll my questions to and get advice. I went through a couple different agencies before I talked to Isabelle on the phone. I knew within a few minutes of talking that I wanted her. I felt vey open to tell her that I needed to travel for cheap because I want to go for a few months. She took everything I asked into consideration (like arriving in Peru during the day and not at night) I've only gotten my plane ticket with her and plan to do more the closer my trip gets. If you're reading this any trying to find someone that's not going to rip you off and will understand all your worries then you've found the person and she's on this page.
Isabelle helped my wife and me with a recent trip to London. She handled our transportation from Heathrow which saved us money and time. Isabelle also recommended sites for us to visit and set us up with hotels in our price range Because of Isabelle I did not have to spend hours reading travel guides I just asked The Travel Genie! I'm already planning my next trip with her.
Isabelle did a great job putting together our very complicated trip to Europe and Africa, including finding a great safari company in Kenya that exceeded our expectations. Her communication was excellent-- she always responded to emails within a day. I highly recommend Isabelle.
Dealing with Isabelle was not a great experience. There were several mishaps that ended up being a real hassle because of the way she booked our tickets, not to metion, we didn't even have seats on our final leg until the very end (we booked the trip months in advance so no idea why).
My boyfriend contacted Isabelle as a surprise to me! We had talked about taking a trip to Europe for years, and he wanted to make it all come to fruition...We met with Isabelle in February where we started to discuss the where we wanted to explore and the types of travelers we were. From there we decided on 3 countries; France (Paris), Germany (Black Forest) and Austria (Vienna). She put together a very comprehensive itinerary including flights, rail passes, a rental car (something we were not considering, but turned out to be a huge asset and timesaver) and she also gave us at least 3 options to choose from for our accommodations. Plus she also helped us pre-purchase all of our metro and museum passes not to mention additional day and bus tour tickets. I believe that trying to do all of this on our own would have been a nightmare. We totally appreciated all of her guidance and experience, and in the end made the whole process worry-free! We booked all of the travels by the end of April and was ready for our European vacation in May. We highly recommend Isabelle's services and can't thank her enough for helping us have one of the most amazing trips to remember!

Thank you for the review, Teri. I really enjoyed creating your itinerary to Europe.
Isabelle really came through for me while planning my trip to Florida last month. It was a last minute decision to travel and I wasn't having any luck finding a suitable hotel AT A REASONABLE PRICE. We wanted to stay on or near the beach but weren't willing to pay $ 300 per night. Isabelle came up with some great suggestions for hotel options. The hotel we chose met our requirements perfectly. In the future, I'll save myself some time and money by having Isabelle plan the itinerary. She has professional resources and discounts that are not available to the general public. Finally, a travel agent who gives you that personal attention and guidance that doesn't exist on the internet.

Touring the Top 10 Moscow Metro Stations
By Claudia Looi 2 Comments
Komsomolskaya metro station looks like a museum. It has vaulted ceilings and baroque decor.
Hidden underground, in the heart of Moscow, are historical and architectural treasures of Russia. These are Soviet-era creations – the metro stations of Moscow.
Our guide Maria introduced these elaborate metro stations as “the palaces for the people.” Built between 1937 and 1955, each station holds its own history and stories. Stalin had the idea of building beautiful underground spaces that the masses could enjoy. They would look like museums, art centers, concert halls, palaces and churches. Each would have a different theme. None would be alike.
The two-hour private tour was with a former Intourist tour guide named Maria. Maria lived in Moscow all her life and through the communist era of 60s to 90s. She has been a tour guide for more than 30 years. Being in her 60s, she moved rather quickly for her age. We traveled and crammed with Maria and other Muscovites on the metro to visit 10 different metro stations.

To Maria, every street, metro and building told a story. I couldn’t keep up with her stories. I don’t remember most of what she said because I was just thrilled being in Moscow. Added to that, she spilled out so many Russian words and names, which to one who can’t read Cyrillic, sounded so foreign and could be easily forgotten.
The metro tour was the first part of our all day tour of Moscow with Maria. Here are the stations we visited:
1. Komsomolskaya Metro Station is the most beautiful of them all. Painted yellow and decorated with chandeliers, gold leaves and semi precious stones, the station looks like a stately museum. And possibly decorated like a palace. I saw Komsomolskaya first, before the rest of the stations upon arrival in Moscow by train from St. Petersburg.
2. Revolution Square Metro Station (Ploshchad Revolyutsii) has marble arches and 72 bronze sculptures designed by Alexey Dushkin. The marble arches are flanked by the bronze sculptures. If you look closely you will see passersby touching the bronze dog's nose. Legend has it that good luck comes to those who touch the dog's nose.

3. Arbatskaya Metro Station served as a shelter during the Soviet-era. It is one of the largest and the deepest metro stations in Moscow.

4. Biblioteka Imeni Lenina Metro Station was built in 1935 and named after the Russian State Library. It is located near the library and has a big mosaic portrait of Lenin and yellow ceramic tiles on the track walls.

5. Kievskaya Metro Station was one of the first to be completed in Moscow. Named after the capital city of Ukraine by Kiev-born, Nikita Khruschev, Stalin's successor.

6. Novoslobodskaya Metro Station was built in 1952. It has 32 stained glass murals with brass borders.

7. Kurskaya Metro Station was one of the first few to be built in Moscow in 1938. It has ceiling panels and artwork showing Soviet leadership, Soviet lifestyle and political power. It has a dome with patriotic slogans decorated with red stars representing the Soviet's World War II Hall of Fame. Kurskaya Metro Station is a must-visit station in Moscow.

8. Mayakovskaya Metro Station built in 1938. It was named after Russian poet Vladmir Mayakovsky. This is one of the most beautiful metro stations in the world with 34 mosaics painted by Alexander Deyneka.

9. Belorusskaya Metro Station is named after the people of Belarus. In the picture below, there are statues of 3 members of the Partisan Resistance in Belarus during World War II. The statues were sculpted by Sergei Orlov, S. Rabinovich and I. Slonim.
10. Teatralnaya Metro Station (Theatre Metro Station) is located near the Bolshoi Theatre.
