What are the Train Classes & Prices of ONCF?

Depending on the length of your trip and your preferences you can choose a first or second class ticket in a sleeper coach for an overnight trip or opt for a hard or soft seat if available. Note that the choice of ticket classes depends both on the route and the length of your trip. Basically, your train may feature first class berths but you will not be able to book one if you are doing just a short two-hour stretch. In general, second class berths are a good choice for longer trips, and soft seats get you covered if your train ride is supposed to take under 4-5 hours.

To get most of your train ride to choose the class of your ticket wisely. Consider the length of your trip, the time of the day, and your own preferences. For longer travels by night, first or second-class tickets in a sleeper coach might be the best solution. Both options allow you to sleep your night away as comfortably as it gets on a train and save the precious daytime of your vacation. Note that sometimes first-class tickets cannot be booked for short couple-of-hours trips on a longer itinerary. They are often reserved for travellers who cover the whole route from departure to the terminal station. Exploring the Intricacies of the Nador-Taourirt Railroad Connection

A railroad connecting Nador to Taourirt was opened on 2 July 2009 by ruler Mohammed VI of Morocco. as a significant aspect of ONCF’s rail ventures. Beforehand, there was an interfacing transport connection from Taourirt, likewise worked by the railroad organization ONCF.

L'ONCF offre aux MRE une réduction de 50% sur les billets de train

L'Office national des chemins de fer (ONCF) a lancé, mardi, un plan spécial "MRE" avec des offres de trains renforcées et un tarif de bienvenue avantageux et ce, conformément aux Hautes instructions royale visant à faciliter le retour au pays des Marocains résidant à l’étranger (MRE).

"Dès le mardi 15 juin, l’ONCF a renforcé son plan de transport par la programmation de trains spéciaux, notamment au départ des principaux points d’entrée des MRE, maritimes et aériens", indique l'Office mercredi dans un communiqué.

Il s'agit d'une offre totalisant 21 trains par jour au départ de Tanger vers le Sud (Rabat, Casablanca et Marrakech) et vers l’Oriental (Fès, Nador et Oujda), en plus de la liaison au départ de l’aéroport international Mohammed V vers Casablanca dont la desserte sera assurée par 10 trains avec une cadence de 2h couvrant toute la journée de 5h à 23h, précise-t-on de même source.

Par ailleurs, l’ONCF annonce la mise en place exclusivement pour les MRE d'un tarif de bienvenue "AHLAN" offrant une réduction de 50% sur le billet aller/retour de et vers toutes les destinations ferroviaires et à bord de tous les trains Al-Boraq, Al-Atlas et TNR.

Le tarif "AHLAN" est destiné aux MRE pour les accueillir dès leur arrivée au Maroc pour continuer leur voyage vers leur destination et pour les accompagner à leur retour pour rejoindre les aéroports et les ports des villes du Royaume desservies par train, poursuit le communiqué, faisant savoir que ce tarif est valable pour toute la période estivale (15 juin-15 septembre) sur présentation d’un billet d’entrée et de sortie du Maroc (avion/bateau).

On SCANNING our tickets, the ONCF attendant said we were in the wrong section, we were sitting in second class thinking were we actually in First. Anyway, we moved up to first class and had a good laugh at ourselves. The train did arrive a few minutes late The return journey from Tangiers to Casablanca was just as pleasant and was bang on time Found the first class lounge in both stations to be lacking enough seats and other amenities.
