Where Does Rupert Grint Live And How Big Is His House?

Rupert Grint

The Harry Potter film franchise not only made its cast famous, but it also made them a lot of money , and that certainly applies to  Rupert Grint , who was just 11 years old when he stepped into the role of Ron Weasley. With all that cash, all three of the starring actors — Grint, Daniel Radcliffe , and Emma Watson — went on to purchase their fair share of pricey properties.

Grint told Barron's in 2017 that he "grew up in apartments," and while we don't know how big or how luxurious (or how small and humble) those family homes were, they likely didn't compare to the place that he picked up as an adult.

When the actor heads back to his pad after a day of filming his latest project, he can retire to his 18th-century mansion, which he bought for £5.4 million (around $6.7 million in U.S. dollars). Located on 22 acres of land, the house features five reception rooms, six bedroom suites, and both indoor and outdoor swimming pools, according to a  Daily Mail   report from 2013. As impressive as that sounds, it's far from the only property that Grint owns.

Rupert Grint owns a 'housing empire'

Rupert Grint is smart about his money, which is why he decided to invest it in multiple valuable properties. "I've got a big portfolio now. I think it seems to be a safe place. I've always been low-risk with those kinds of things," the actor explained to Barron's   in 2017.

Along with Grint's own expensive abode, he also bought his parents a £3.35 million (over $4.15 million U.S.) mansion that the Daily Mail notes comes "complete with a lake and putting green." While his father, Nigel Grint, owns additional properties with his wife, Joanna, the father and son co-own a "detached house [that they purchased] for £495,000 [over $600,000 U.S.] which they renovated and now rent out for more than £2,700 [almost $3,350 U.S.] per month."

Frankly, the star had built up such a substantial portfolio by the time he was 24 years old that, in 2013, he "set up a new company [called Eevil Plan Properties] to manage the income from his multi-million pound housing empire." So while Hollywood might not be casting Grint anymore , it looks like he doesn't have to worry about making money from acting since he's likely making a fortune off of his profitable properties.

Inside Harry Potter star Rupert Grint’s £6m countryside mansion that he paid for in CASH

HARRY Potter star Rupert Grint is sitting on a property empire worth a staggering £24 million - and one of his palatial homes is set in its own parkland.

The £6million mansion was built in the 18th century and comes with 22.6 acres of grounds, complete with huge gardens, a paddock and even its own lake.

Rupert Grint owns a seriously impressive palatial home in the English countryside

Rupert's six-bed grand property has an indoor leisure centre, with a swimming pool, jacuzzi, gym and games room.

Outside, there is a second pool located next to a Grecian pavilion, a flood-lit tennis court, a staff flat and TWO guest cottages.

It is just one of a stack of plush houses owned by Rupert, who played Ron Weasley in the Harry Potter movie franchise.

He paid £5.4million for it in 2009 and, remarkably, the purchase was made with cash.

The palatial home has a drawing room with wood floors

The former child star, 31, has never lived in the home and has now put it on the market for £6million.

Potential purchasers arriving at the Hertfordshire house will first need to venture up a long, tree-lined driveway after pulling in from the road.

Once inside the massive entrance hall, there is the choice of a drawing room, sitting room or family room to relax in downstairs.

There is also a large kitchen with larder and even a wine store in a cellar below, just in case anyone fancies a tipple.

The property - which 'requires modernisation' - is split over three floors and, on the first, there is a master bedroom with separate dressing room and en-suite.

The inside pool has mosaic tiles and white columns

The impressive abode has two further bedrooms and en-suites on the first floor, along with a whopping private cinema.

On the top floor, there are three more bedrooms and all have en-suites and dressing rooms.

Once back outside, whoever snaps up Rupert's countryside house can take a walk through the massive grounds and visit the lake.

Along with a walled garden, there is also mature landscaped gardens, boxed hedge paths and a pond to stroll around.

It even comes with it's own lake

Perfect for friends and family to visit, the semi-detached cottages each have two bedrooms, a sitting room, kitchen and bathroom.

There is also a barn in the grounds, with a one-bedroom staff flat located above it too.

On Wednesday, The Sun exclusively revealed that Rupert has recently added £10.6 million worth of homes to his property portfolio .

Rupert Grint Discusses His Hogwarts House

When you're part of a film franchise like Harry Potter , it would make sense that the story would feel intertwined with your own life. At least, that's been the experience of Rupert Grint AKA Ron Weasley. In a new interview with Vulture , the actor opened up about the way his life has been affected by being a part of the Harry Potter cast.

"I think it’ll always be with me," Rupert says about his role as Ron. "I had a weird relationship with that character because after that we kind of merged into the same person. I find it very hard to separate where I end and Ron begins."

And that wasn't the only piece of Harry Potter -related information that Rupert chatted about. He also spoke up about his Hogwarts house, as he was officially sorted last May on Pottermore . Turns out that Rupert has some mixed feelings about being a Hufflepuff.

Explaining that he was a little bit disappointed with his results, the actor said: "That’s just not the coolest one, is it?" But even though he took the test a few times, he always faced the same result. "You want to be like Gryffindor or Slytherin," he added. Poor Rupert; it's hard out there for a Hufflepuff. But at least he's in good company — looking at you, Cedric Diggory.

Rupert Grint has had his plans to turn Herts barn into three eco-homes approved

Hertfordshire has given birth to some of the country's biggest stars - not least Rupert Grint.

The actor grew up in Watton-at-Stone, and is best known for his role as Ron Weasley in the Harry Potter series.

Whilst co-stars Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson have both has successful careers in acting since starring in the film franchise, Grint has had his focuses firmly elsewhere.

According to reports in 2020, his property portfolio is now worth an eye-watering £24 million - with most of those homes and investments being based in his home county.

Find out the latest property news for your area by entering your postcode below:

Rupert, 32, is linked to three companies that own property in Hertfordshire, which bring in millions to his family every year and contribute to his £50million net worth.

Eevil Plan Properties Ltd is the only one with Rupert named as a director on Companies House, which was launched in 2013 to help manage the then-£12.9million portfolio, with all the properties in Hertfordshire. It also names his dad Nigel Grint as a director.

Oneonesix Developments also has his dad named as a director, as well as his brother James, but is thought to be owned by the actor.

Nigel is also listed as a director at Clay 10, which was originally to deal with Rupert’s income from film and TV work, rather than property but has seen a huge rise in the value of its assets - and now has £7million in investment properties itself.

The properties range from the £5.4 million Hitchin mansion he bought in cash in 2009, to new builds in Luton, right down to bespoke studios.

That mansion, Kimpton Grange, includes six bedrooms, indoor and outdoor pools and (of course) a cinema room.

However, the property required renovation and despite being spectacular, it's thought that Grint never lived in the property.

It was on the market last year, and more recently, became home to an even bigger project.

In September 2021, North Hertfordshire District Council approved plans and issued conditional permission to turn a barn on the property in to three, three-bed dwellings.

There are other incredible mansions owned by Rupert which are rented out for those wanting a life in the country and are willing to pay for the exclusivity.

However, those are much harder to spot.

In 2020, Oneonesix Developments portfolio also included a luxurious five-bed newly built-in Oaklands, near to Welwyn.

There was also a slightly more modest, but still sleek and modern two-bed apartments on Nightingale Road in Hitchin town centre.

Another house in East Herts included a two-bedroom apartment on the ground floor of this converted pub, just outside Ware town centre.

Rupert Grint attends the gold carpet premiere of Snatch, a new television show based on the Guy Ritchie movie of the same name, at the BT Tower in London.

Oneonesix also built two new four-bedroom and one new five-bedroom luxury homes in Codicote.

The mansions that he owns are a bit more secretive, but according to The Sun three of his properties alone in Hertfordshire equalled £9.2million.

The property bug has caught the whole family too, with his parents also owning two large townhouses with a combined worth of £2.7million.

Residents of Hertford would be aware of Rupert’s parents running the luxury Rigsby’s Guest House right in the centre of the town - although it only lasted three years before closing.

Thankfully, the family managed to have a bit more luck with the second venture that continues to grow at an incredible speed.

So even if you might not see Rupert on screen as often as his co-stars, there's still a very good chance to spot him around Hertfordshire.

Rupert Grint Found His Decade-Long Harry Potter Stint to Be “Quite Suffocating”

rupert grint house tour

By Chris Murphy

1459411243

Being a wizard might not be all it’s cracked up to be. In an interview with Bustle, Rupert Grint said that playing Ron Weasley in the Harry Potter franchise from ages 11 to 22 was “quite suffocating.”

While promoting his upcoming film, Knock at the Cabin, Grint opened up about his decade-long stint playing everyone’s favorite redheaded wizard and the thin line between himself and the character. “In the movies, we merged into one,” he said. “By the end of it, I was playing myself. The lines were blurred.” He also noted that for a while he felt a “competitive element” in the way  the media compared his career with those of his costars, like Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson , after leaving the Potter -verse. “‘Who’s doing what?’; people contrasting our careers,” he said. “We’re all completely different and going along different paths.”

Grint also commented on the grueling Harry Potter shooting and press tour schedule. “ Potter was so full on—[filming] all year, then we’d promote the rest of the time. It was quite suffocating,” he told Bustle. “I wanted a break, to reflect on everything… It was an out-of-body experience for a while, but I think we finished at the right time. If we continued, it could’ve gone downhill.”

While Potter was a full-time commitment, Grint says that he’s grateful for the experience, highlighting his recent reunion with the cast for HBO Max’s Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts special in 2022. “[Being in Harry Potter ] was a really unique experience only us core group really know, so it’s nice to see them,” he says of his costars. “It was a good opportunity to reflect on everything and just say how crazy it was. It’s always nice to look back.”

Since Potter, Grint has made a name for himself for taking on darker material, working with famed horror director M. Night Shyamalan on Knock at the Cabin and the Apple TV+ series Servant, and appearing in Guillermo Del Toro’s Cabinet of Curiosities. However, Grint says he’s ready to take on some lighter, more festive fare. “I like the idea of doing something light next,” he said, “like a Christmas movie.”

Inside Rupert Grint’s three Hertfordshire houses as he sells for £2m – and they look like Harry Potter’s Privet Drive

  • Published : 8:32 ET, Feb 8 2021

RUPERT Grint is selling three posh Hertfordshire homes for £2million - and they look just like Harry Potter's Privet Drive home.

The actor, 32, invested his money from the super-popular films into a property empire and is set to bag even more money from them.

Rupert Grint has three properties up for sale

Rupert is selling a five-bedroom home for £850,000 and two four beds for £750,000 in a leafy Hertfordshire suburb.

The five-bedroom home boasts three bathrooms and two living room areas.

The house is promised to be "finished to a high specification", complete with a kitted out kitchen with SMEGmicrowave, oven and induction hob.

There's a separate wine fridge and a dishwasher, and the doors lead out to the patio and garden.

Meanwhile, the two living rooms boast enough space to spread out and there's also a cloakroom downstairs.

The five bedrooms are spread across the first and second floors, with two of them featuring en suites.

The two four bedroom houses are semi-detached and are still in development.

The 32-year-old has a range of homes now worth around £24 million.

Inside the kitchen in the home

His firm Oneonesix Developments is worth around £4million and develops homes in Hertfordshire and neighbouring Bedfordshire.

The actor also bought three properties around his home village in Hertfordshire for a combined value of £9.2million.

The famously private star lives with his girlfriend Georgia - who he's dated since 2011 - and his daughter Wednesday.

Rupert has kept up with acting work after the smash hit of the Harry Potter films, staring in Agatha Christie adaptation The ABC Murders in 2018 and most recently in TV series Servant.

Go beneath the streets on this tour of the spectacular, mind-bending Moscow Metro! Be awed by architecture and spot the Propaganda , then hear soviet stories from a local in the know. Finish it all up above ground, looking up to Stalins skyscrapers, and get the inside scoop on whats gone on behind those walls.

Know More about this tour

We begin our Moscow tour beneath the city, exploring the underground palace of the Moscow Metro. From the Square of Revolution station, famous for its huge statues of soviet people (an armed soldier, a farmer with a rooster, a warrior, and more), we’ll move onto some of the most significant stations, where impressive mosaics, columns, and chandeliers will boggle your eyes! Moreover, these stations reveal a big part of soviet reality — the walls depict plenty of Propaganda , with party leaders looking down from images on the walls. Your local guide will share personal stories of his/her family from USSR times, giving you insight into Russia’s complicated past and present. Then we’re coming back up to street level, where we’ll take a break and refuel with some Russian fast food: traditional pancakes, called bliny. And then, stomachs satiated, we are ready to move forward! We’ll take the eco-friendly electric trolleybus, with a route along the Moscow Garden Ring. Used mainly by Russian babushkas(grannies) during the day, the trolleybus hits peak hours in the mornings and evenings, when many locals use it going to and from their days. Our first stop will be the Aviator’s House, one of Stalin’s Seven Sisters, followed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs — and you’ll hear the legends of what has gone on inside the walls. Throughout your Moscow tour, you’ll learn curious facts from soviet history while seeing how Russia exists now, 25 years after the USSR.
