The Green (formed in 2009) is an American traditional Hawaiian and reggae group hailing from Oahu, Hawaii, in the U.S.

Formed as a cathartic and enjoyable exercise for members of Hawaii’s tight-kit music scene, The Green is comprised of lead vocalist Caleb Keolanui, vocalist and keyboardist Ikaika Antone, vocalists and guitarists JP Kennedy and Zion Thompson, bassist and keyboardist Brad “BW” Watanabe, and drummer Jordan Espinoza.

Before very long at all the group recorded and released their eponymously-titled debut album and became iTunes Best Reggae Album of the Year for 2010. The single “Love I” became the breakthrough single in Hawaii and the success of the album led to an extensive touring schedule in mainland U.S. including shows at Vans Warped Tour, Wakarusa and California Roots Festival. The band’s touring style and approach became notoriously light-hearted and the group openly shared their Aloha spirit.

The band’s sophomore album titled “Ways & Means” was released in 2011 to much the same critical and popular response as the first; remaining at the top of the Billboard Reggae chart for four weeks and winning the award for Best Reggae Album at Hawaii’s 2011 Na Hoku Hanohano Awards. Released through Easy Star Records, the album cemented the group’s position as leaders of contemporary reggae and paved the way for The Green’s third album “Hawai’i ’13”.

Released in 2013, “Hawai’i ’13” was produced by esteemed producer Danny Kalb, known for his work with Ben Harper, Beck and Jack Johnson, and utilised the songwriting abilities of all the bands’ members. Featuring the singles “Striking Up A Love”, “Good One” and “Power in the Words”, similar to its predecessor “Hawai’i ‘13” topped the Billboard Reggae Chart and was followed by an intense period of touring.

Live reviews

Tongue in cheek band name “The Green” is this reggae band that hail from Oahu, Hawaii. Their sound being a roots reggae kind of genre, fused together with some Traditional Hawaiian vibes. The musicality behind what they do is very impressive, with some stunning jazz voicings leading the way through this music, that doesn’t really matter to the other 95% of this audience who are simply here for a good time. Every single thing that this band do, the audience absolutely love and get behind. They perform a song called “California Roots” which whips this huge audience into reggae frenzy, enjoying this fantastic summer vibe, with the sun setting in the background. I would say the main thing that I love about this band is that they manage so effortlessly to have such a memorable hook in each song, accompanied by tight harmonies and very well played guitars, with the most classic reggae town you could imagine. This audience absolutely love it, dancing all the way through this electrifying set.

This band is very talented - good music, great voices. Unfortunately the performance last night in Portland was not their best. You could hardly hear the singing or the guitars since the base was so loud and overpowering. I was disappointed since I have really enjoyed hearing this group live in the past.

Words can simple not do justice to the quality of the performance last night. From high energy to incredible vocals. The Green came out with only one intention and that was to party with their fans. And lead the party they did. FANTASTIC! Can't wait until the next time they' come back to Minnesota.

The Green Was a Spectacular concert had a real good time. Although we won the tickets. Now if they ever come back to this area I would pay to see them again. The sound was very good not your typical Reggae Band witch I like . I guess would call it the new style. And it was ok by Me.

rickkhimthang’s profile image

Tightest reggae band out there. They nail the harmonies every time, which is especially cool because they all sing. Their music is consistent too, they don't throw away songs. Never miss them when they roll through!

To safeguard the Green Tour’s unique ambience, we will continue with our policy, now in its 2 1st year, of rejecting overtures from national broadcast networks to televise our tournaments.

Welcome to the  2024  Green Tour

We’re all set for another exciting year on the Green Tour. The dodgy handicaps are locked & loaded, the book is chock-full of foolish wagers on hapless donkeys.  2024 now looks like another bumper year for misspent loot and dashed dreams

Dave “tremendous” Canty won the Green Tour Jacket for the 1st time with a smooth 37 points. His other rounds were 35 and 36 points, and he was the most consistent golfer all year. A big congratulations to Dave – another Corkman wins the Green Jacket!

Congratulations also to Noel Goggin, Fran O’Flaherty and Michael O’Driscoll who won the Bowl, Plate and Shield, respectively.

The dates for the 2024 Tournament :

1st Round -   April 6th Horseshoe Bend

2nd Round -  May 11th GCOG Creekside

3rd Round - August 24th GCOG Lakeside

Rain Date - October 12th

Final Round - October 26th Druid Hills

Champions Gala Night  - November 16th

Lana Del Rey announces 2024 Fenway Park show. Get tickets today

There will be no “Summertime Sadness” in Boston this year.

Pop superstar Lana Del Rey just announced she will swing into Fenway Park for her first-ever stadium show on Thursday, June 20.

Other notable acts set to perform at the Red Sox’ home field these next few months include Hootie and The Blowfish, Noah Kahan, Kane Brown, Foo Fighters and Blink 182.

Green Day , Pearl Jam and Def Leppard with Journey are also slated to hit the legendary stadium as well over the summer.

And while Del Rey isn’t on tour, she does have one more major gig lined up in the near future.

On May 17-19, the “Young and Beautiful” singer is listed as one of the many headliners at Gulf Shore, AL’s Hangout Festival from May 17-19 alongside Zach Bryan , Odesza , Reneé Rapp , Dom Dolla and Jessie Murph .

However, if want to see Del Rey live at Fenway, seats are available.

Based on our findings, fans can now purchase tickets on sites like Vivid Seats ; the official on-sale is Friday, May 10.

Vivid Seats is a secondary market ticketing platform, and prices may be higher or lower than face value, depending on demand.

They have a 100% buyer guarantee that states your transaction will be safe and secure and will be delivered before the event.

A complete calendar including dates and links to buy tickets can be found here.

As noted above, eight giant acts — including Del Rey — are dropping into Fenway this summer when the Sox are away.

For a closer look, we’ve got all the information you need about their show dates, start times and links to buy tickets below.

Hoping to head to Gulf Shores?

If you make it out there from May 17-19, you’ll be treated to performances from all the aforementioned headliners as well as Chappell Roan , The Chainsmokers , Dominic Fike , Cage The Elephant and A Day To Remember .

Tickets for the 2024 Hangout Festival can be scooped up here .

The huge one-off gig comes on the heels of Del Rey’s dizzying run in Indio, CA where she headlined both weekends at Coachella and then made a pair of surprise drop-in appearance at Stagecoach alongside country star Paul Cauthen.

You can see the unlikely duo perform their rendition of “Unchained Melody” here:

Del Rey, 38, is releasing her tenth studio album “Lasso” in September.

Most surprisingly, the Jack Antonoff-produced record will be made up of country songs.

”If you can’t already tell by our award winners and our performers, the music business is going country. We’re going country. It’s happening,” Del Rey said at the Billboard and NMPA Songwriter Awards. “That’s why Jack has followed me to Muscle Shoals, Nashville, Mississippi, over the last four years.”

“Lasso” follows Del Rey’s 2023 album “Did You Know That There’s a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd,” which topped out at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 chart.

Can’t make it to see Del Rey in Boston?

There’s no need to worry.

Many of the biggest stars around are conducting nationwide tours these next few months.

Here are just five of our favorites you won’t want to miss live.

• Melanie Martinez

•  Mitski
