PHILADELPHIA, May 5, 2023 – The Roots Picnic has become a Philly summertime tradition — something of an annual reunion, really — and features performances from some of the biggest names in music.
Curated by and named after Philadelphia’s own critically acclaimed band The Roots, this is one music fest not to be missed.
The 2023 festival is set to take place from June 2 to 4, 2023. Attendees can look forward to performances from the legendary Ms. Lauryn Hill, the one-and-only Diddy (performing with The Roots!) and Philly’s own Lil Uzi Vert. Did we mention Busta Rhymes, Eve, Roy Ayers and The Isley Brothers? Whew.
For the first time, the event opens with a standup set on Friday night, as Dave Chappelle kicks off the festivities with a night of comedy at the Wells Fargo Center (separate tickets are required for this event).

Arrested Development
2024 rock & roll hall of fame inductees to be revealed live on 'american idol', trending on billboard.
A quick pop-in at the Reggae Rise Up Maryland 2024 festival in Baltimore on June 23 will be followed by a June 29 gig at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles and then a pair of dates in July in Denver and Seattle, before a hop over the Atlantic for a couple of dates in England and Germany before a return to U.S. shores in August for shows in Houston and Irving, Texas, Highland Park, IL, Sterling Heights, MI, Atlanta, Vienna, VA and a Sept. 1 show at the MGM Music Hall at Fenway in Boston.
In keeping with their job supporting Fallon since 2009 — on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon and then, beginning in 2014 on The Tonight Show — the majority of this summer’s dates will be weekend gigs that will allow the group to be in their spots in Studio 6B in Rockefeller Center in New York for their nightly gig.

They sound even better then their CD live!! Amazing show! If you have the opportunity to see Through The Roots, I would not miss it! As much as I love seeing them at small venues, they deserve to be on a huge scale with their good vibes

A private tour of what? A private tour with whom?
I am not local expert but last year we stayed at a ( business oriented) hotel and the concierge has a list of tour people/companies. She called one for me, fastest would be for the afternoon or the next day, depending. It was available but we ended up not doing it. But your hotel would be a good source for referral. No guarantee for availability as Marassa said, but you understand this as well I think.
This post was determined to be inappropriate by the Tripadvisor community and has been removed.
Well, consierge in the hotel is the easiest and most expencive solution. Doing some homework makes it cheaper. It's up to you - what is your time worth? When you know exact dates, you'll definitely have to get a hotel room - not an easy thing in July - peak of the season! When you get the room contact your hotel's consierge and ask for a quote, and compare it to the result of your contacts as per Marassa's suggestions. Enjoy!
