In the early morning hours, you can see the cruise ships dock here. Then, later in the early evenings, watch the cruise ships as they push back into the harbour (disappearing momentarily on the left side of your screen) and then set sail for Alaska (traveling from left to right across your screen). Depending on the time of day, and amount of sunlight, images of the Vancouver cruise ships may appear faded. Early morning and early evening are the best times to view Canada Place and the cruise ships. Don’t forget to check the cruise ship schedule included below.

Cruise ship season runs from May until October. Check out the included schedule of arrivals and departures to find the ship of your choice. Viewers will also see freighters anchored in the harbour, pleasure yachts, tugboats and our very own “seabus” as it travels back and forth every 15 minutes bringing commuters home from the downtown core. In fact, if you are a cruise ship passenger and have some extra time before you board ship, you may want to get aboard the “seabus” (it’s public transit operated, like the bus), very inexpensive, very safe and docks right next to your ship. So come on over for a visit and take a mini-cruise to our side of the water. You’ll dock at Lonsdale Quay market where a wealth of boutique shops, restaurants, entertainment and marketplace vendors will be pleased to greet you. The 15 minute trip is well worth it, we promise.

Vancouver. Cruise Ship Terminal

We are on the southern coast of Vancouver harbor in the central part of the city. The camera is installed in the office of Vision Critical, which is located in a skyscraper at 200 Granville Square.

We can see one of the major ports of Vancouver, where large cruise ships stop. A major travel company, Fly Over CANADA , and an exhibition complex, Vancouver Convention Centre East, are located in Canada Place port.

The unusual architecture of the port, according to the authors, resembles a waving wind sail. On the right side of the screen we see the cargo port of Vancouver.

Tourists have an opportunity to stay at Pan Pacific Vancouver , it takes only a few minutes to get to it from the port. The windows of the five-star hotel offer stunning views of the central part of the city and its northern suburbs.

For anyone cruising out of or into Vancouver, BC this year, here is a link to a web cam that shows a good portion of the cruise ship terminal. Depending upon where the ship docks will determine just how good of a picture you will see. If nothing else, at least when they are coming in or heading out, you should have a nice view.

It's great to see a web cam in Vancouver - one of my favorite cities. We will arrive there on the Ryndam on May 7th and look forward to a day and night there.

Wow! Isn't that GORGEOUS!

bellebaby

The Mercury will be arriving there tomorrow. It is in Seattle today.

Is this fairly new? I'm glad they have one. I love to look in and see HAL ships all around the world.

Correct.....I work in a Federal building that incorporates over 275 surveillance cameras. Today I was able to observe the Mercury tied up to the pier using one of the cameras.

I did think it was a bit early to see the cruise ships start to visit Seattle, but it's nice to see the season start again.

I always look forward to Friday morning's when the ships come around the point at Discovery Point and work their way to the different piers.

The above web cam is what I usually use to see HAL ships since they always dock on the Stanley Park side of Canada Place. I have used the one Terry showed us for a couple of years now just to see what the weather looks like in Vancouver but unfortunately since HAL hardly ever docks on that side we cannot see any of the ships. Occasionally a smoke stack and that is it.

I thought so too! And I couldn't find anything online (including Celebrity's web site) to find out what her itinerary is right now? Surely they're not starting Alaska this early? Just doing some short PNW runs? We did one of those last fall, and it was a lot of fun!

On cruisecal this is the schedule for the Mercury

Actually, it is!

Usually the Zaandam or Volendam are first to arrive around the middle of April; the Mercury didn't show up here until the end of April last year. This is, as far as I know, the earliest a cruise ship has arrived in recent years.

The passenger train I take into downtown every day for work stops right at Waterfront, so I'll be jaunting down to spend some time at Canada Place tomorrow admiring the Mercury after work :D

Thanks for this photo of one of the finest cities in the world. Gloriously beautiful!

Yes, it does seem that the cruise season is starting much earlier this year. From the discussions on the Alaska topic, I would say too early!

I don't know who in their right mind would want to cruise out of Vancouver to Alaska this month.

We call it Spring....but anyone south of Seattle will call it WINTER!!

Temperature tonight....1C....High tomorrow, in the sunshine, 9C!

I love this city I live in as much as I like cruising...but you'd have to give me the Alaska cruise to get me to go before the end of May!!

Check the Vancouver webcam... The Mercury made it in!

has anyone ever found a link to a decent view of Port Everglades (Ft. Lauderdale)?

I would love to have it and any other links where I can see HAL ships in port.

It does look good to see a ship back at Canada Place.

Does anyone know if the Mercury ever went thru a Dry Dock that fixed her up yet? I had read so many bad reviews about her. I definitely would not mind the itinerary she is currently doing. But mostlikely could not fit it in till 2010.

No, I have one but it is not of where the HAL ships are docked, you usually only see Princess and RCL. San Diego still has by far the BEST Web Cam, although for beauty the Vancouver Web Cam is nice but not do able for a Web Cam Wave.

I'm with you on that, Lisa!

I know the Mercury underwent a bit of a refurb last spring - adding some cabins aft, and replacing carpeting and the like. Over on the Celebrity boards, it seems people either love the Mercury or shy away from it and the Galaxy altogether. I wouldn't mind doing one of the 3-day coastals in the fall from Seattle on the Mercury just to find out for myself.

I have read it looks unlikely that the Mercury will get the same treatment the Century got, which is a shame, because by all accounts it really transformed that ship from something that was quickly getting dated into a ship that has a new lease on life.

We did the PNW 3-night on Mercury last October ... after an upgrade in the suites. Even the upgraded bed was uncomfortable IMO, but that's my only complaint. I've sailed Mercury twice, the first time being an Alaska route in 2004, and I really like the ship. Seems very comparable to Westerdam and Oosterdam, to me ... at least in all my favorite spots, which generally center around food and alcohol! :D

Sure looks pretty in Vancouver today! Thanks for the links.
