AAMU Student Makes 2024 ALL IN Student Voting Honor Roll

Paris Clack

Clack Recognized in Forbes for Student Voter Registration Efforts

Paris Clack was among a select groups of college students across the country chosen for the ALL IN 2024 Student Voting Honor Roll . The sophomore biology major from Snellville, Georgia was one of 137 students from 36 states recognized in an article on forbes.com for their efforts to educate, register and ensure their peers turned out to vote. “I tell everyone I run into that your vote does matter," says Clack. "At the end of the day, we are the ones choosing the people that go into office." Clack has been part of the AAMU Civic Engagement Team since she arrived on The Hill. The team organizes students to host yearly voting registration events across campus.

“My parents are so excited,” says Clack. “My mom posted about me before I could post myself. I was happy about that and I was also in shock seeing my name and my photo!”

AAMU has been a member of the ALL IN Campus Democracy Challenge since 2017. The national organization works with universities across the country to find resources to support voter registration, voter education and voter turnout, a mission important to Clack.

“I like talking to people, and I like being involved on my campus,” says Clack. "One way we're getting more students to come and register to vote because of our great events. We had a Mardi Gras Ball where there was free food. The only way to get in was you had to register or check your status to vote.”

Clack hopes to become a resident advisor (RA) when she returns to campus this fall. She says that will allow her a captive audience to engage freshmen on the topic of the importance of registering to vote. She says she'll continue using every opportunity to spread the word.

“There are so many opportunities at A&M,” says Clack. “I love that.”  With plans to become a pediatrician, Clack is studying for the MCAT and planning for medical school in the future. Until then, she says her message to her peers on campus is "Go to the polls and vote!”
