Celebrity Cruises food guide: A look at all the restaurants and dining options on board

Melinda Crow

It's amazing how Celebrity Cruises ' food has changed over the years!

My first Celebrity cruise was on Zenith, the line's second purpose-built ship. It carried fewer than 2,000 passengers. Breakfast and lunch were served in the ship's buffet area, and dinner was served at set times in the main dining room. That was it. There were no specialty restaurants.

Today, Celebrity Cruises ships are much larger — with the smallest being almost twice the gross tonnage Zenith had (91,000 gross tonnes versus 47,000 gross tonnes) — and have far more space devoted to food.

Choices on current Celebrity ships range from complimentary offerings that your cruise fare covers to higher-quality food that comes at an extra cost. With different venues on different ships, all those choices can get confusing. Which Celebrity restaurants will be on your next cruise?

Whether you've cruised with Celebrity recently or are new to the line, you need a food guide to keep up with what's available on which ship. Knowing which food choices each ship has might be a deciding factor in which ship you book.

You might be surprised to learn that food choices can play a big role in which cabin category you choose on Celebrity, as certain cabins and suites grant access to exclusive restaurants and complimentary room service or offer priority seating in specialty venues.

Our Celebrity food guide starts with a list of all the eateries, along with which ships they are found on. After that, you'll find some of the most-asked questions about Celebrity food. Note: Our guide does not cover the Galapagos expedition ships, but you can expect an indoor dining room and a multipurpose alfresco option on each of those ships.

Included for AquaClass guests, space-available basis for Retreat guests; breakfast and dinner

Guests who book an AquaClass spa cabin can access the exclusive restaurant, Blu, for breakfast and lunch. Breakfast is a delight, with fresh fruit smoothies included every day. The dinner menu changes daily, plus you can order from the main dining room menu if you'd prefer.

The cruise line's descriptions of Blu make it sound like it serves spa or healthy food. While there are healthy choices on the menu, I found the menu overall to be more akin to a main dining room's — but with higher-quality food.

For example, breakfast offerings include fresh fruit smoothies each day — nothing fancy with additives like greens or chia seeds similar to what you can purchase at the Spa Cafe, just tasty fruit in a glass. The atmosphere and service are more like a specialty restaurant. Social media posts are filled with cruisers who book AquaClass rooms specifically for the privilege of dining in Blu.

Brunch or Dinner on the Edge

Fixed price; brunch and dinner on select days

These two options are alfresco food experiences, rather than separate restaurants. They are scheduled events that take place on the Magic Carpet elevator positioned on the side of the ship. For these events, the Magic Carpet is stationed next to the pool deck (aka resort deck). The dinner menu includes seafood and chateaubriand.

Available on : Celebrity Apex , Ascent, Beyond and Edge

Cabana food

Included and a la carte; all-day dining

If you rent a deck cabana on the Edge Class ships or an Alcove on the Solstice Class ships, you will be presented with an exclusive food menu. The list includes fruit skewers, snacks and sandwiches.

Available on : Celebrity Apex, Ascent , Beyond, Eclipse, Edge, Equinox, Reflection, Silhouette and Solstice

Cafe al Bacio

celebrity cruises beyond dining

Included and a la carte; snacks

Expect typical coffee shop fare, including pastries, cakes, tarts and cookies. A few of these are the same as you would find in the buffet at the Oceanview Cafe, but I found that most are exclusive to Cafe al Bacio. On a recent cruise, I enjoyed eclairs, sugar donuts and a slice of luscious red velvet cake. There are typically three or more cookie choices, while the ice cream area in Oceanview typically only has one.

The baked goods are complimentary; coffee and specialty teas are priced a la carte but are included in both the Classic and Premium beverage packages. A gelato counter is found next to or across from the coffee and snack counter. Unlike the ice cream counter in the buffet area, this gelato comes with an added charge. Captain's Club members receive a free scoop per cruise starting after you earn 2 cruise points or complete your first cruise.

Celebrity Edge Class and Solstice Class ships have a second Cafe al Bacio (called Il Segundo Bacio) located in the Oceanview Cafe buffet area. The menu of drinks (extra charge) matches what you'd find in the main Bacio location on board, which makes it a convenient spot to grab a specialty coffee or glass of wine to accompany your casual meal. Just don't expect the specialty snacks found at the main location; you can pick up snacks at the buffet instead.

Cosmopolitan Restaurant

Included and a la carte; breakfast, lunch on sea days and dinner

This is the point at which Celebrity food choices become confusing. In an effort to break away from the traditional main dining room experience, Celebrity Edge Class ships split the main dining room into four distinctly decorated restaurants, each with a menu that is made up of basics available in all four, plus selections that are exclusive to that restaurant. Guests are assigned to one of the four but may opt to dine at any of the other three at any time they choose.

Cosmopolitan, serving daily breakfast and lunch on sea days, is the one most closely resembling a standard main dining room. The dinner menu changes nightly but includes some items that are always available. There are also premium selections of filet mignon and broiled lobster tail that come with an added charge.

Available on : Celebrity Apex, Ascent, Beyond and Edge

Craft Social

A la carte; all-day dining

They had me at "Mac 'n' Brie." Craft Social is a bar, but it has a somewhat secret bar food menu. It's really only a secret if you don't typically go there to drink. Everyone who frequents the place knows about the good eats.

Cyprus Restaurant

celebrity cruises beyond dining

Included and a la carte; dinner

Cyprus is one of the four main dining rooms on Edge Class ships. It features a basic menu that is available in all four dining rooms, plus an exclusive menu of Mediterranean offerings (think: lamb kabobs or coq au vin).

Included; breakfast and lunch

Celebrity offers breakfast and lunch counter service at Eden Cafe during limited hours. It is near the popular specialty dining venue, Eden Restaurant, but the food served at the cafe is complimentary. Specialty coffees and teas like those served at Cafe al Bacio, plus grab-and-go food and lighter fare like soups and salads come with an added charge.

Eden Restaurant

celebrity cruises beyond dining

Fixed price; dinner

This is fine dining with an earthy menu featuring seafood, lamb, beef and chicken entrees. Three different dining experiences are available: the main menu, a seven-course tasting menu with optional wine pairings and a seven-course vegan tasting menu with optional organic wine pairings. The dress code is smart casual, so no need to get all dolled up for a meal here.

Fine Cut Steakhouse

Celebrity's version of the American steakhouse features everything you'd expect from a high-end, land-based steakhouse. The menu includes grilled seafood, steaks, chicken and lamb, as well as prime rib. Topping choices range from bearnaise to blue cheese to black truffle butter. Additional entrees come with an extra charge, as do dry-aged beef cuts.

Lawn Club Grill

Fixed price; lunch and dinner

Celebrity puts a twist on backyard barbecue with the Lawn Club Grill. At this grill restaurant, you can sit back and enjoy the view of the ocean beyond the only real grass yard at sea while you wait to be served. The menu includes a full salad bar, custom flatbread pizza appetizers and a list of desserts that makes me want to keep going back until I've tried them all. At the top of my list is the warm chocolate chip cookie, which is not a cookie at all but rather cookie dough baked in a 4-inch ramekin until crispy on the outside and gooey on the inside; it's served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top.

Available on : Celebrity Reflection and Silhouette

Le Grande Bistro

Fixed price; breakfast, lunch and dinner

Imagine a French sidewalk cafe at sea serving warm croissants with Nutella at breakfast and a daily special that ranges from baked ham sandwiches on French baguettes to pan-seared Dover sole.

Le Petit Chef

celebrity cruises beyond dining

The experience at Le Petit Chef goes far beyond the food on the plate. That's because the entire table comes to life with an animated show throughout the meal. The menu is broken into two options: Le Menu Extraordinaire and "The Other Menu." The first features chicken, while the "other" choice is a filet mignon. Both lean toward rich French cuisine.

Included for Retreat guests; breakfast, lunch on sea days and dinner

Expect food that is a notch above even some of the specialty dining options on board. Service is designed to cater to your every need. Breakfast offers a choice of staples, while the lunch and dinner menus rotate daily.

Main dining room

Each non-Edge Class ship in the fleet has a single, multistory main dining room. The main dining room has a different name on each ship. The food is complimentary, except for extra a la carte options available each night. The menu changes daily and is available in the Celebrity app, on your cabin's interactive TV and posted near the dining room.

All Celebrity ships, except the expedition vessels, have the option to choose traditional early and late dining where you sit at the same table at the same time with the same people and the same set of servers each night.

Alternatively, guests can select the line's flexible dining option, called Celebrity Select Anytime Dining. You will be assigned to a specific floor of the dining room (or a specific dining room on Edge Class ships). You can make reservations for specific times each day, which gets you seated quickly and often with the added benefit of dining with the same servers each night. If you do not make reservations, you can show up when you're ready and wait for an available table. Without reservations, you might have to wait a while to be seated. Diners on the flexible plan can ask to try different tables and different servers throughout the week.

Available on : Non-Edge Class ships

Magic Carpet restaurant

celebrity cruises beyond dining

A la carte; lunch and dinner

The Magic Carpet is the elevator-style platform attached to the side of all Edge Class ships. When the platform is positioned next to Raw on 5, it features a menu that includes favorites from the Raw on 5 menu but with extras. For example, the lunch menu includes a turkey club sandwich and a lobster roll, as well as fish and chips.

Included; lunch and dinner

The Mast Grill is your go-to spot for poolside burgers and hot dogs along with all the toppings, fries and onion rings. It's ideal for a quick alfresco bite before or after a port excursion.

Murano serves French cuisine in a fine dining setting. Guests have the choice of the five-course tasting menu called "Five Senses" or their own starter and entree, among a broad selection of meat, poultry and fish options. Caviar is available at market price.

Available on : Celebrity Eclipse, Equinox, Reflection, Silhouette, Solstice and Summit

Normandie Restaurant

celebrity cruises beyond dining

If you can't get enough French-inspired food or you like it but not enough to splurge on it in a specialty restaurant, you can dine at this French-inspired main dining room for free. You can choose from the basics served in all main dining rooms or opt for the Normandie exclusives, such as sirloin en croute or duck confit.

Oceanview Cafe

Included; breakfast, lunch, and dinner

Oceanview Cafe is the ship's buffet eatery. Expect a full range of globally inspired foods at every meal. Cooked-to-order egg, pancake and waffle stations are the center of breakfast choices. At lunch, look for meat-carving stations, salads, sandwich-making bars and a fresh pizza station. Plus, there's ice cream by the scoop. Dinner includes pizza, pasta and salad stations, plus cook-to-order stir fry and grilling stations.

As the name suggests, Raw on 5 is the spot to get your sushi (or even your oyster) fix on Edge Class ships. The menu goes beyond just sushi with a modern Japanese menu that includes cooked dishes like chicken teriyaki and pan-seared rib-eye medallions.

Rooftop Garden Grill

celebrity cruises beyond dining

Start with spicy wings and work your way through a choice of burgers, pizza, kabobs or ribs at this alfresco, top-of-ship restaurant. Imagine summer backyard party food to get a sense of what to expect.

Included and a la carte; breakfast and lunch

The solarium is the spot to seek out healthy alternatives to heavy cruise food. Fruit and yogurt cups, salads, light sandwiches, wraps and granola are yours for the taking each day. Smoothies and fresh juices are available for an extra charge or come included if you purchase a drink package.

Sushi on Five

With a more limited menu than its Edge Class cousin, Sushi on Five features traditional sushi and sashimi with only a few non-seafood options. The Kobe Beef Ramen Slider might be the perfect secret menu item for that stubborn travel companion who just doesn't do sushi.

Available on : Celebrity Constellation, Eclipse, Equinox, Infinity, Millennium and Reflection

The Porch Seafood Restaurant

Picture yourself at a seaside resort in the Hamptons noshing on lobster rolls or a basket of blackened mahi-mahi tacos. Oh wait, you're not really in the Hamptons; you're cruising on one of only two ships in the Celebrity fleet with this unique semi-enclosed restaurant on Deck 15. Opening hours are weather dependent — high winds would be the main cause for a closure. The venue has limited seating, so you'll need reservations.

The Retreat Lounge

celebrity cruises beyond dining

Included for Retreat guests; lunch and snacks

The Retreat Lounge serves up bar bites, gourmet snacks and even gourmet burgers on occasion. Check with servers for what's available to munch on each day.

Tuscan Grill

Combine all things Italian with a classic steakhouse, and you'll find yourself in Tuscan Grill. The menu is extensive enough for you to dine here multiple times. From soup to pasta and pizza to entrees featuring beef, chicken or seafood, you can't really go wrong with this choice.

Available on : Celebrity Constellation, Equinox, Infinity, Millennium, Reflection, Silhouette, Solstice and Summit

Tuscan Restaurant

celebrity cruises beyond dining

Not to be confused with the Tuscan Grill, the fourth and final main dining room choice on Edge Class ships is inspired by Italy. Traditional options are still available, or go all in on the exclusives, such as slow-roasted pork chops or roasted chicken with Asiago cheese sauce.

Frequently asked Celebrity food questions

How does the main dining room work.

At booking, you are offered a choice between traditional times, designated as early or late, or flexible dining called Celebrity Select Anytime Dining.

Do I need reservations for dinner in a specialty restaurant?

Waiter-served, extra-fee restaurants — whether fixed price or a la carte — typically require reservations. Popular choices with limited seating might fill all available time slots as soon as reservations open. As such, it's better to make a reservation to ensure you get the time slot you prefer.

What do 'a la carte' and 'fixed price' mean?

A la carte pricing refers to restaurants where the food is priced per item. You only pay for what you order. An entire menu might be individually priced, as in Raw on 5, or you might only see a few items with prices on an otherwise complimentary menu, as in the main dining room.

Fixed price indicates that dining at the restaurant has a single cover charge for the full meal. Many of Celebrity's fixed-price restaurants have more than one cover charge option. For example, you might select a tasting menu that will have a higher fixed price.

Most also have a la carte choices that are an extra price over and above the cover price. Examples of that are the aged beef options at Fine Cut Steakhouse.

Beverages other than tea, coffee and water are an added charge at fixed-price restaurants unless specifically stated as being included or part of a beverage package.

Which beverages are included with my cruise fare?

Drip coffee, tap water, hot and iced tea, milk and one or more flavored drinks like fruit punch or lemonade dispensed from drink machines are included in the cost of your cruise. All other beverages can be purchased individually, or you can buy a beverage package to pay for unlimited drinks in advance (fine print applies). Read our guide to Celebrity Cruises drink packages for details.

Is there room service, and what does it cost?

Room service is available in all cabins. Continental breakfast is available at no charge; choices include coffee, pastries, fruit and cold cereal. Hot breakfast, lunch, dinner and all snacks incur a delivery charge of $9.95 plus 20% gratuity. The food itself is mostly complimentary, but select items are priced a la carte.

How do specialty dining packages work?

To lower your specialty dining costs, you can buy a multinight package or an unlimited dining package. These are all available for purchase in the cruise planner before sailing. The unlimited package allows you to dine at any specialty restaurant each night of your cruise, plus enjoy lunches when they are available.

Does Celebrity charge extra for lobster?

Lobster tails may be ordered any night of the cruise for an extra charge in the main dining room. If complimentary lobster is served in the dining room as part of the menu, only one lobster tail is included. Additional lobsters are charged to your bill.

Do Captain's Club members have access to Blu or Luminae?

No. Only guests staying in The Retreat suites may enjoy Luminae, and Blu is primarily for AquaClass cabin guests. Retreat passengers may dine in Blu if there is space available.

Le Voyage with Daniel Boulud: Distinguished Chef to Launch His First Restaurant At Sea

Exclusive to  Celebrity Beyond  will be  Le Voyage , created by the world-renowned chef and Celebrity Cruises’ Global Culinary Ambassador Daniel Boulud. The venue is his first signature restaurant at sea, and just as the name implies, travel is the inspiration for Chef Daniel’s incomparable dishes. Globally- inspired flavors will be infused into his menus, transporting guests to the very places that inspired each dish.

Celebrity Beyond Reveal

From the moment guests step inside  Le Voyage by Daniel Boulud , their experience will be so much more than a meal. The ambience of the restaurant is a result of Jouin Manku’s creative talents — the team responsible for designing the Jules Verne restaurant in the Eiffel Tower as well as Celebrity’s extraordinary Grand Plaza, located at the heart of the ship and featuring a stunning chandelier creating different atmosphere experiences from day to night.

For Le Voyage by Daniel Boulud, the aesthetic will be intimate and upscale, featuring soft tones, private banquette seating with textured and graphically lit glass flutes that create an inviting warm glow, and a dedicated entrance and exit creating a one-of-a-kind culinary experience. As a final touch, guests receive a farewell gift at the end of their experience.

The Sunset Bar: Nate Berkus Designs Internationally Inspired Beach Club Destination

Renowned interior designer Nate Berkus has continued his partnership with Celebrity Cruises, designing the globally influenced two-story  Sunset Bar  on the aft of  Celebrity Beyond .

Working in collaboration with architect Tom Wright of WKK, best-known as the designer of the Burj Al Arab hotel in Dubai, the space is nearly twice as large as previous iterations with unobstructed views. Inspired by the very best of summer days around the world, from Mexico and California, to Greece and Uruguay, Berkus worked to create a casual yet elegant beach club vibe.

Featuring two open-air decks and a pergola covered entrance, guests can pull up to a u-shaped bar or settle under the cool shade of plush daybed niches, in this upscale space that combines elegance and relaxation.

*Clink* Craft Cocktails Abound on Board Celebrity Beyond

Celebrity Beyond ’s  World Class Bar  will boast expert mixologists crafting bespoke cocktails for all tastes, while ensuring that the spectacle of making each drink is just as exciting as drinking them. The venue comes in partnership with Diageo, one of the world’s largest producers of spirits and beers, bringing much-beloved beverage brands from across the spirit spectrum to Celebrity Cruises’ bars.

Inspired by Aphrodite: Fleet Favorite Cyprus Redesigned; Other Signature Celebrity Cruises Spaces Reimagined

Celebrity Cruises’ heritage is deeply rooted in Greece, having been founded by a Greek family in 1988 and with 70% of current marine officers across the fleet hailing from the country. In a nod to this continued tradition, Celebrity has collaborated with Chicago interior design firm Simeone Deary to give its  Cyprus Restaurant  a fresh new look. Cyprus is a fleet favorite on board Celebrity’s  Edge Series ®  ships, but visitors on  Celebrity Beyond  will be greeted by a brand-new heavenly ambience that perfectly combines delicate, airy elements with brilliant gold, sculptural accents, taking inspiration from Aphrodite, the Greek goddess of love and beauty.

Revered British interior designer Kelly Hoppen CBE has been tapped to bring a new, fresh and luxurious aesthetic to several venues onboard Celebrity Beyond including the  Rooftop Garden’s Rooftop Grill , the inviting, piazza-inspired  Cafe al Bacio  and the popular  Mast Bar  on the ship’s Resort Deck. All three spaces have been expanded and re-designed with an upscale, resort-like aura.

Welcome Beyond

The third ship in Celebrity’s industry-transforming “new luxury”  Edge Series ,  Celebrity Beyond  stands at 17 decks high and 21 meters longer than her innovative predecessors  Celebrity Edge Ⓡ (2018) and  Celebrity Apex SM (2020), making her the largest ship in the Celebrity fleet. Every element of  Celebrity Beyond’s  look and feel has been carefully curated with newly imagined spaces and expanded versions of the brand’s popular signature spaces, including:

  • The Retreat , an exclusive area for suite guests, now featuring a two-story sundeck;
  • Transformational accommodations, from modern two-story villas with plunge pools to staterooms with infinite verandas, blurring the boundaries between indoor and outdoor living;
  • An expanded Rooftop Garden and stunning resort deck featuring cantilevered float pools;
  • A redesigned Grand Plaza at the heart of the ship spanning three decks and creating an airiness never-before experienced within a cruise ship;
  • And, the  Magic Carpet ® , an engineering feat soaring cantilevered above the sea, offering guests uninterrupted vistas while sipping cocktails or having dinner.

Celebrity Beyond Reveal

Like her industry-changing sister ships,  Celebrity Edge  and  Celebrity Apex , both of which have been  named one of TIME Magazine’s “ World’s Greatest Places ” following her 2018 debut season,  Celebrity Beyond  will connect guests to the breath-taking world around them like never before. The ship’s onboard and onshore experiences stand it apart as a new-luxury travel brand without comparison.

Celebrity Beyond  will depart on her maiden voyage on April 27, 2022, from Southampton, England on a 10-night Western Europe cruise visiting Bordeaux, France; Lisbon, Portugal; and Seville, Malaga, Palma de Mallorca and Barcelona, Spain. She will then offer a variety of Mediterranean journeys including nine-night Italian Riviera and France itineraries and 10-night Greek Isles itineraries through early October, when she then heads to the Caribbean.Voyages are now on sale.

Celebrity Beyond Is the Ultimate Cruise Ship for Foodies

Author image: taryn pire

Never having been on a cruise, I made many assumptions before my first, picturing overcrowded pools , teeny-tiny cabins and buffets that would inspire nightmares of my college dining hall. (Oh, and I was really worried about being seasick for seven days straight.) But after having experienced the Celebrity Beyond , I can admit that I severely underestimated what a cruise could be—namely in the food and drink department. There’s no limit to the culinary splendor aboard this next-level ship, from specialty restaurants to mixology classes to international food-focused excursions. Here’s everything you need to know about Celebrity Beyond’s food and drink offerings before you book, including the dishes I couldn’t get enough of during my stay.

7 Reasons Cruises Don’t Suck (Especially When They Ship from the West Coast)

celebrity beyond food and drink: celebrity beyond cruise ship

What Is Celebrity Beyond?

Celebrity’s ships are considered resorts at sea, complete with all the amenities you’d get at a hotel on land. (In fact, Celebrity Cruises are the first and only relaxed luxury resorts at sea to be star-rated by Forbes Travel Guide .) Named Best Premium Cruise Line for 14 consecutive years by Travel Weekly ’s Annual Readers’ Choice Awards, Celebrity is famous for its hospitable, friendly service. Celebrity is also known for its award-winning theater shows, entertainment and on-board activities. You may think an eight-day cruise is too long, but there’s *always* something fun to do on the ship, promise.

celebrity beyond food and drink: magic carpet on celebrity beyond

As for the Celebrity Beyond, it’s the first cruise ship with an American female captain—ever. (Her name is Captain Kate McCue , and she has the cutest elf sphynx cat you’ve ever seen, Bug Naked , on board with her for every voyage.) Beyond officially joined the Edge Series fleet in March 2021. These ships are famous for their signature cantilevered Magic Carpets—aka decks that are suspended over the side of the ship (up 13 stories high!), offering unrivaled views of the open water. (You can even book a table for Dinner on the Edge , if you don’t mind the height.)

celebrity beyond food and drink: stateroom with infinite veranda on celebrity beyond

There are plenty of open-air spaces to unwind in, from the resort deck’s multiple pools and hot tubs to your own stateroom, many of which come with groundbreaking Infinite Verandas, that blur the line between indoors and outdoors. (Picture lying in bed while being cooled by revitalizing ocean air or digging into room service to the sound of gentle waves.) And thanks to the high-tech stabilizers, the ship’s rocking is kept to a minimum. I kept anti-nausea meds in my purse just in case, but rarely needed to use them. So don’t fret, newbies!

Celebrity Beyond’s Food & Drink

There are a whopping 32 food and beverage venues on board, including eight specialty restaurants and two exclusive restaurants. There are also 14 cafés, bars and lounges, four casual dining venues and four main dining restaurants. Regardless of the type of stateroom you book, you’ll have complimentary access to all four main dining restaurants, as well as the casual dining venues. As for specialty dining, you can book in advance as a package or pay a la carte once on the ship. (So, for instance, if you went with a basic dining package and stateroom, you could still dine at a specialty venue for a cover charge.)

Casual dining includes the Oceanview Café, a large buffet surrounded by massive windows that offers globally inspired fare, as well as Eden Café (casual breakfast and lunch), The Spa Café and Juice Bar (nourishing grab-and-go bites) and Mast Grill (a poolside burgers-and-dogs joint with soft serve ice cream).

The main dining restaurants include Cyprus, Tuscan, Normandie (do not miss the whipped passion fruit curd for dessert here) and Cosmopolitan, each with a different ambiance and theme. The menus change nightly, but they share the same kitchen, so you can mix and match your favorites from each venue. (For instance, if you want a dessert from Normandie while dining at Tuscan, odds are you can order it.) You can also book a table at one restaurant and switch to another upon request, or book the same table with the same waiter for your entire trip with Celebrity Select Dining.

celebrity beyond food and drink exclusive and bars

As for exclusive dining venues, you need to be staying in The Retreat—a luxury experience that includes a massive suite, an exclusive lounge and sundeck and unending amenities—to gain access to Luminae at The Retreat, a private resto with a menu crafted by a Michelin-starred chef. (The other exclusive resto is Blu, which is exclusive to AquaClass guests—more on that later.)

There are also endless options for libations that are open to everyone on board. World Class Bar is the place for high-end cocktails and mixology classes (which are so fun and informative, BTW). The Martini Bar in the Grand Plaza offers dozens of martinis to choose from, and it’s staffed with bartenders who can do spectacular tricks, from bottle juggling to mixing a drink in a cocktail shaker balanced on their foreheads. (They flex their skills most during an epic show every evening featuring the massive LED chandelier above the bar.) Sunset Bar, designed by Nate Berkus , is the best place for alfresco hangs and incredible views, while Craft Social is the spot for beer lovers. As for coffee, Café al Bacio has you covered, and with fresh pastries to boot.

The Best Specialty Restaurants on Celebrity Beyond

I got to try most of the specialty restaurants on board. Allow me to be the first to say that your palate is not prepared for the caliber of food on this ship. Here are my top five restaurants on board and the best dishes to order at each.

Created by Daniel Boulud, a world-renowned chef known for his two-Michelin-starred NYC restaurant Daniel and Celebrity’s Global Culinary Ambassador, Le Voyage is an intimate, upscale restaurant featuring warm lighting, soft-toned decor and private banquette seating. Its global menu is inspired by Boulud’s travels, so offerings range from Thai-style prawns, encrusted in tamarind and peanuts and swimming in green curry, to Brazilian moqueca with cashew rice and coconut broth. In case the drool-worthy menu isn’t enough to convince you, note that Le Voyage boasts the most awarded wine collection at sea, along with a very knowledgeable sommelier who can find the optimal vintage for your taste. Did we mention each meal ends with Boulud’s famous madeleines?

Eden Restaurant

celebrity beyond food and drink: three dishes side by side from eden

  • What to Order: Sheep’s Milk Gnocchi, Pan Roasted Carabinero Shrimp, Nova Scotia Lobster Casserole

While Boulud’s resto may be the most alluring to distinguished foodies, no self-respecting gourmand should skip Eden . With lush, green decor and ornate cocktails inspired by the Garden of Eden, this meal was arguably the most divine of them all. Inspired by international cuisines, Eden’s menu is inventive, whimsical and well-rounded. The sheep’s milk gnocchi was unlike any I’d ever had—pillowy soft, delightfully tangy and crowned with shatteringly crisp shards of guanciale. Mushroom lovers will adore the truffled huitlacoche risotto, creamy with mascarpone cheese, while seafood stans need to try the Nova Scotia lobster casserole with sweet corn and marble potatoes. Splurge on the tasting menu or pick and choose your favorite dishes to share.

Le Petit Chef at Le Grand Bistro

celebrity beyond food and drink: three dishes side by side from le petit chef at le grand bistro

  • What to Order: Poached Shrimp and Persian Cucumber Salad, Braised Short Rib of Beef, Strawberry Chantilly Napoleon

Experiential dining has been on the rise, and this interactive, one-of-a-kind experience proves it. Le Petit Chef , an immersive dinner theater experience starring a 6-centimeter-tall chef that’s projected onto your table from above, takes place at Le Grand Bistro , the ship’s French restaurant. The adorable (and surprisingly funny) cook walks you through each course of the tasting menu, explaining his inspiration for the dishes you’re about to eat. He’ll prepare an animated version of each course on your plate just before your server brings over the real thing. The themes of the show inspired plenty of dinner conversation and childlike revelry at our table —keep the wine flowing and you’ll be sure to have an unforgettable experience.

celebrity beyond food and drink: three dishes side by side from blu

  • What to Order: San Daniele Prosciutto, Moroccan Spiced Chicken Chickpea Soup, Pumpkin Gnocchi

If you stay in an AquaClass stateroom, you can dine at Blu, a fantastical, exclusive restaurant with lots of floral accents, plush chairs and royal blue accoutrements. Blu’s menu is more wellness-focused, featuring clean ingredients, lots of plant-based dishes and an extensive list of sustainable and biodynamic wines. (Although I strongly recommend the Picking Season cocktail, a mix of cachaça, lemon, fresh cider and organic apple.) “Clean Cuisine” menu items include scallop-shrimp ceviche with pickled ginger and sesame oil, baked salmon fillet with warm blueberry balsamic vinaigrette and tandoori cauliflower steak with yogurt-cilantro sauce. You can’t go wrong with the cracked peppercorn-crusted tuna salad with watercress and Dijon vinaigrette, but if you’re extra hungry, go for the slow braised, so-tender-you-don’t-need-a-knife Colorado lamb shank with saffron couscous and glazed carrot jus.

Rooftop Garden Grill

celebrity beyond food and drink: three dishes side by side from rooftop grill

  • What to Order: Smoked Chicken Wings, Pulled Pork Slider Trio, The Cookie

The most casual concept of all the specialty restaurants, the Rooftop Garden Grill slings elevated barbecue fare and game day grub in an open-air setting. It’s nestled in an intimate corner of the Rooftop Garden, so you’ll soak up endless sea breeze while you nosh. The smoked wings with house dry rub were among my favorite bites of the entire voyage—crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside and complexly seasoned. The hickory-smoked brisket and mesquite baby back ribs, complete with mustard-vinegar slaw and jalapeño cornbread respectively, both hit the spot after a long day in the sun. The desserts are also nothing to sneer at: Try the salted chocolate chip cookie with vanilla gelato or the mason jar s’mores, made with chocolate mousse and homemade marshmallow.

Other Specialty Restaurants: Raw on 5 (sushi and sashimi) , Fine Cut Steakhouse (steak, lamb and lobster)

Culinary Excursions on Celebrity Beyond

Celebrity Beyond tours both the Mediterranean and the Caribbean with a wide range of itineraries. Our particular trip made port at St. Maarten, St. Thomas and the Dominican Republic. With private, small-group and large group tours available, there’s plenty to do when the ship stops besides stretching your legs on land. Here’s a breakdown of what we did (plus some of the best local bites in each destination):

St. Maarten

celebrity beyond food and drink: grilled caribbean lobster and fried whole snapper, side by side, from st. maarten

We booked a private tour of the island’s French side. After taking in views of the Caribbean Sea and learning a bit about the country’s history from our driver, we stopped at a commercial village for some shopping. Once we were hungry, we stopped at Cynthia’s Talk of the Town , a lolo (a word for a small, traditional restaurant used in a number of islands in the West Indies) that serves the meanest, butteriest grilled Caribbean lobster you’ll ever eat. Next, we went to Marigot Market to peruse street vendors (with a beyond boozy piña colada in hand) and had lunch at Rosemary’s Seafood and Creole Cuisine , which just so happens to have been featured in an episode of Anthony Bourdain’s A Cook’s Tour . (He also penned an article for The New York Times about his experience there, which Rosemary herself told us changed her life forever.) The stewed oxtail and whole fried snapper were plain revelatory, and we washed them down with sweet, smooth shots of guavaberry , a national spirit made from a plant of the same name.

celebrity beyond food and drink: view of bay and island from drake's seat in st. thomas

We opted for a lazy day and booked the Magen’s Bay Beach Getaway. An open-air bus took us on a breathtaking drive along the Atlantic side of the island to the bay, which is a protected stretch of white sand and cerulean waters surrounded by mountains. It’s known as one of the most pristine and calm beaches in the world. After a rejuvenating dip and a quick tan, we walked over to Magens Point Bar and Grill for cocktails. I ordered the rum punch, which was refreshing, tropical and as strong as I’d hoped. After a pitstop at Drake’s Seat, a scenic point that offers panoramic views of the bay, we headed downtown for shopping and much needed ice cream.

Dominican Republic

celebrity beyond food and drink: photo of coffee plants from tubagua plantation and eco lodge and sancocho in puerto plata, DR

After getting some R&R the day before, we were ready to get our hands dirty and break a sweat on a private Countryside & Coffee Cultural Tour in Puerto Plata. A unique experience courtesy of Tubagua Plantation and Eco Lodge , our group planted 120 coffee seeds for local farmers to grow, harvest and sell. We also watched a demonstration that explained how coffee gets from bean to cup and tried some freshly brewed java made the old-fashioned way. Finally, we headed to the dining room for sancocho (a meat and vegetable stew), white rice, the most delicious avocado I’ve ever had and local beer. Finally, we headed downtown for shopping, sightseeing and a mamajuana (a deeply spiced local rum) tasting before heading back to the ship.

celebrity beyond food drink pricing

Celebrity Beyond Pricing

Celebrity Beyond’s current voyages start at $972 (this is for a six-night cruise to Bimini, Mexico and Grand Cayman) per person, plus taxes, fees and port expenses, which vary by cruise. The cheapest room starts at $1,960 per person or $2,941 with the all-inclusive package. The cheapest option that’s inherently all-inclusive (meaning drinks, internet, tips and access to one exclusive restaurant) is AquaClass, which starts at $4,845 per person. (The Retreat costs $4K more, in case you’re curious.) No matter what stateroom you book, you’ll still need to book a specialty dining package to gain access to all the specialty dining restaurants, or you’ll need to book a table a la carte for a venue you’re interested in once you’re on board. Yes, it’s an investment, but what better way to splurge for a traveling foodie?

Cool Cruiser

We are long time Celebrity cruisers, but this will be our first cruise on an Edge class ship. We are on a b2b on Beyond starting Feb12 and are looking for help/info on the Main dining rooms. We understand the 4 themed restaurants and how the menus work, specifically that every restaurant has an exclusive menu that stays the same throughout the cruise, plus the “regular daily Celebrity menu” which changes daily, plus the Celebrity Classics menu (the latter 2 are available at all 4 themed dining rooms.

We are confirmed to have Select Early Seating, soooooo….does that mean Celebrity has confirmed seating for us at 1 of the themed restaurants for all 7 days of our cruise or have they seated us at a different themed dining room each day. And if Celebrity has seated us at 1 dining room for the whole cruise, how do we make changes so that we get to experience each of the themed restaurants???  HELP!

PS - tried calling Celebrity direct, but the people answering do not even understand how the themed dining rooms work or that they even exist on Beyond!

Word on the street is that the MDRs on the Edge-class ships are all select (anytime) now. Just choose a dining room and show up when you want to eat.

Yikes, I'd not go into HELP mode quite yet, you can easily resolve this on the ship, just check with any one of the MDR's and they will easily asssist.

Great Review

On Edge in 2021 & Apex last year we showed up

when & where we wanted.

All anytime dining now on the Beyond  and it’s even reported all E class ships.   You do not need reservations just go to any of the dining rooms when you are ready to dine.  If you would like to make reservation you can do that in the Cruise Planner, under dining go the very end and you will the 4 MDRs listed.

Thanks

Correct, there's no longer set early or late seating, despite what you may have reserved when you booked your cruise.

Thanks Jelayne, value your response as you are regularly providing info on these boards. Followed your advice and found the 4MDRs in the cruise planner, but couldn’t make any reservations because it says that we have been booked for 6pm, it just doesn’t say where, hence my “frustration”.

We had a card in our stateroom suggesting a time and dining room for the first evening (we booked select on Apex , but you'll have select, too).

I was on a B2B on Beyond a few weeks ago. It’s beautiful! I loved it. As another poster indicated, you can just go to any of the four when you like. No reservations. I was in AQ and went to Blu most of the time but did manage to get to Cypress and Tuscan. We had a pleasant experience at both and were served by veteran waiters we knew from previous cruises.

Be sure to try the Eden Cafe for lunch. It’s on 5 aft.

Thx Hrhdhd, so the first night you had a reservation with set time and venue. If you don’t mind me asking, what did you have to do for days 2 to 7? Did you have to make reservations or did Celebrity assign you times and which MDR?

It's  not a reservation time the first night. It's  just a suggestion. We had a time at one of the restaurants  but we went to another one at a different time and there was no problem.  If you want to make ahead reservations  before you board I would call Celebrity services desk and ask for their help. They should be able to do this for you if you're  not able to do it on the app

As I have told you there are no longer any set dining times. You only have a reservation if you yourself make it. Otherwise you walk-up at the time you want to eat and see if there's a table available right away or you have a short wait.

We just chose a DR and went there when we were hungry. 😉

SbbquilterUT

We had reservations but there was no separate line for those with reservations as they were seating people as they walked in.  We found it easy to get a table at about 6:40 as those diners heading to the 7pm show were clearing out.  Even managed tables by the window some evenings.

The 8 Best Restaurants in Moscow

From the traditional to the modern, fine dining destinations in Moscow celebrate the best that Russian cuisine has to offer.

By Elite Traveler

With many of the best restaurants in Moscow also doubling as bars and clubs, the atmosphere is nearly always one step away from a party, and many of the city’s elite come dressed to impress. Of course, there are still many elegant and family friendly restaurants for those who prefer a quieter evening. With such a large selection available, Elite Traveler has compiled a suitable list for diners of all persuasions.

Café Pushkin

Designed to recreate the feel of a 19th century aristocrat’s house, Café Pushkin has become one of the most popular restaurants in Moscow, thanks to the quality of its food, impeccable service and the excellent vodka selection. The atmosphere of pre-Revolution Russia is delightfully charming, from the flowery script of the menu to aristocratic country house décor. Pushkin is the ideal destination if you want to be treated like Russian nobility and dine like a Tsar – but book ahead, the restaurant’s popularity requires reservation well in advance.

cafe-pushkin.ru

Lavishly decked out with chandeliers and hand-painted furniture, the menu selection may come as a surprise to first-time guests, with options ranging from Pi Pa duck with melon and truffle to beefsteak with foie gras. Turandot puts a French spin on pan-Asian cuisine, and does so with incredible style and boldness. Whilst the interior décor is certainly to be marvelled at, it is the thoughtfully conceptualized and perfectly executed menu options that make for an incredible dining experience.

Azerbaijan, dubai and beyond: fairmont expands luxury portfolio, fairmont to expand to moscow.

When the Ginza Project, a company that owns some of the finest restaurants in Moscow, announced that they would be opening a restaurant on the 29th floor of Radisson Royal Hotel, the excitement and anticipation was palpable.

The company has a reputation for the high quality of its restaurants that grace the streets of the capital, and Buono is no exception. The views from Buono are unashamedly spectacular, while the décor is elegant, with soft creams complementing the fine views on offer. The food is classical Italian; Chef William Lamberti is well known throughout Europe and has created an excellent menu. It’s always best to book ahead at Buono, as the window seats that offer the finest views over the city are quickly taken.

Italian for ‘small’, Piccolino is a cozy, homely restaurant – something of a rarity in Moscow.

Serving typical Italian food, the family friendly establishment is laid back, but this doesn’t compromise the quality of the food: good, hearty portions that are exceptionally tasty. The interior of Piccolino has been designed to replicate that of a large country house, and the décor is entirely fitting with the atmosphere of the restaurant. In a city where many of the establishments value the names of their guests over the quality of their dishes, Piccolino is the place to come if your preference is quality of food rather than famous faces.

Twin Gardens

With two tasting menus and an à la carte option, the Twin Gardens at the heart of Moscow caters to any palette. With the restaurant concept based on the symbiosis of science and nature, their Vegetables set menu explores all manner of produce from seedling to peeling, delicately plated in a tasteful homage to the natural life cycle of wild plants and flowers. For more adventurous types, their Rediscover Russia menu offers a culinary tour of various local specialties found in provinces across the vast continent. They also have a wide selection of Russian wines.

OAK HALL, CDL

Located in an elegant 19th century mansion, CDL is one of the most sophisticated restaurants in Moscow.

The interior has been gorgeously designed to recreate the grandeur of the Silver Age of Russian culture, with antique balustrades and bas-reliefs throughout the Oak Hall main room. The staircase in the Oak Hall is a particular masterpiece; it was built without a single nail or screw. The fireplace is equally impressive and has been used as a meeting room by President Dmitry Medvedev. Guests can also hire additional rooms such as the Cigar Room and the Cabinet Room. A menu of authentic Russian cuisine has been created by top chef Alexander Popov, with organic dishes bursting with flavor and a splendor to match the opulent surroundings. With so much luxury and class on display, it’s little wonder that former US Presidents Ronald Reagan and George Bush have chosen to dine here. Situated in the center of the city between Bolshaya Nikitskaya 53 and Povarskaya Ulitsa 50, it’s worth booking ahead to avoid disappointment.

White Rabbit

With a domed window inviting soaring views of the Moscow cityscape, White Rabbit has recently undergone extensive renovations, to both its interior and its menu. Renowned architect Natalia Belonogova has transformed the restaurant into an airy, modern space, perfected by the addition of a summer veranda. To connect the dining options with the new interior, head chef Vladimir Mukhin has created a new menu, Metamorphoses, to reflect the lifecycle of the mayfly butterfly.

Delight your palette with scallop, strawberries and blackcurrant or, for dessert, dandelion honey with melted cottage cheese. This summerlike and refreshing menu has its roots in Russian soil and its head in the clouds above Moscow’s skyline.

One of the best places to see and be seen, the O2 Lounge is half stylish seafood restaurant and half trendy pre-club hangout.

The food on offer is delicious Japanese fare, with sumptuous sushi prepared in front of diners by the team of talented chefs led by Nicholas Courtois. Located on the 12th floor of the Ritz-Carlton hotel, the restaurant has spectacular panoramic views over Red Square and The Kremlin. 9 Moscow restaurants that won over the Michelin experts

White Rabbit restaurant.

White Rabbit restaurant.

Two Michelin stars: Chef’s Table (1st floor); recommendation: Fireplace Hall (2nd floor)

celebrity cruises beyond dining

Artest is located in a two-story 19th-century mansion in central Moscow. On the ground floor is the Chef’s Table (where guests sit at the same table and are personally served dishes from the chef); on the second is a hall with a fireplace. The restaurant, opened only at the beginning of this year by experienced Russian restaurateur Arkady Novikov, takes its name from the first three letters of the given and last names of Artem Estafiev, a young chef from St. Petersburg. Estafiev already has experience of several large restaurants in Russia’s two capitals under his belt, plus internships in Spain and France. Artem uses farm products and creates his own innovations in the restaurant’s “laboratory”, where he makes vinegars from vegetables and berries (carrots, chokeberries, etc.), experiments with Japanese  koji  mushrooms, and keeps products at high temperatures. The exquisite cuisine is complemented by wines (more than 400 on the wine list) and unusual cocktails based on  kombucha  and fermented products.

2. Twins Garden

Two Michelin Stars, Green Michelin Star, Best Service Award

celebrity cruises beyond dining

Since 2017, brothers Ivan and Sergey Berezutsky have been serving creative and hi-tech dishes to guests at their Twins Garden restaurant. In their own laboratory, the chefs combine gastronomy with science: they ferment products, print food with a 3D printer and use freeze drying. Also installed here is a “kinetic farm” with products hanging in the air – symbolizing the 100-hectare farm in the Yaroslavl region from where most of the products are supplied. Part of the farm is located in the forest, so the restaurant always has seasonal berries, herbs and mushrooms at its disposal. The farm also rears goats, cows and poultry, and produces cheeses.

In addition to the main menu, you can order the “Rediscover Russia” set with local products from different regions of the country. The second set meal with the telling name “Vegetables” gives you a taste from the tops to roots. The picture is completed by 14 varieties of wines made from vegetables, mushrooms and herbs (how do you like wine made from tomatoes or boletus?!). The restaurant is famed for its extensive wine list, which is more like a book, featuring over 1,000 labels from all over the world.

The restaurant’s brand chef, Vladimir Mukhin, is ranked the ninth best in the world, according to the Best Chef Awards. He experiments with alternative sources of protein and new technologies, including sensory food design (where color, shape and sound affect how the dish is perceived). Each signature set that Vladimir presents at the chef’s table is an audacious gastronomic performance.
