They won’t let you leave less than a 5 star review

I tried to give 2 stars but they don’t even allow it!! 😂 WOW. I recently tried this app/company for the first time on an international trip because they seemed so convenient and they had many more tours and opportunities than I had been easily able to find otherwise. However, after booking 3 items through them, I have spent more time on help chat with them tracking down and fixing their mistakes than the time spent on actual enjoyable activities, which is supposedly what they sell - convenient access to activities. My experiences with this company have included waiting in 15 degrees F for an hour for a tour bus that never came, an hour now on the app and phone after that to get that tour refunded, and more recently, more time out of my life after vacation is over tracking down why they are apparently recurring charging me according to my credit card alerts. Thanks Get Your Guide for enriching my life! I will say that their customer service people are very friendly (they clearly get alot of practice), however, I prefer companies that get it right in the first place. Avoid them like the plague.

Great travel app

Last year, my husband and I went on our 20th anniversary trip ton Spain, Portugal, Morocco, & Gibraltar. Get Your Guide was a great app to use in planning some of the places we wanted to see. Purchasing tickets for tours or points of interest was easy and the cancellation policy is very good. We had one place we had to cancel because of time constraints and we got a full refund because we cancelled within the time frame they mentioned. I also like the fact that tickets are stored in the app or you can download it to your phone and since we have iPhones, all our tickets were stored in Apple wallet so it was safe and secure and hassle free as we didn’t have to print physical copies. Also the freedom of not having to get in line to buy tickets is another bonus. We visited the Tile museum in Lisbon and the tickets were for the same day and entrance is at anytime so that helped us plan our day and we were able to take our time at all the places we visited.

Don’t buy Innsbruck cars through this company

I read an article about Innsbruck, which recommended I buy an Innsbruck Card. The card is a way to get around Innsbruck and includes admission into multiple tourist attractions. I clicked on the link to buy the card and it brought me to this company. I assume this company sponsored the article but I could be wrong. I bought the Innsbruck card through this company because it touted instant mobile ticket vouchers. We got our ticket vouchers instantly as stated and headed off to our first attraction. When we got there the mobile tickets didn’t work. After much ado with the ticket office we discovered that we didn’t actually have the Innsbruck card, but instead just ticket vouchers. Not only could we not enter the attraction but we‘d have to travel 30 minutes away to exchange the mobile vouchers for the actual Innsbruck Card tickets at a specific location. We could have just bought the Innsbruck card where we were but we’d be out an extra 68 euro. So we went to the tourist center 30 minutes away to exchange our electronic “voucher” for our paper Innsbruck Card. There we waited for an hour in line to get our Innsbruck Card. Only then were we on our way...what a waste of 2 hours. This company offered no convenience. We could have just bought the card anywhere in Innsbruck for the same price and without the hassle. This company offered nothing but inconvenience.

5 Days Private Golden Triangle India tour from New Delhi

The tour was amazing, we were very satisfyed! Before the trip, during the trip and also after trip the communication with Aahli was exellent. He replied very fast and fullfield all of our extra wishes. He also took time for having lunch with us in Agra. All 5Star Hotels were amazing, especially the Leela in Neu-Dehli. Danish was an amazing driver, he was always on time, very kind and we felt always safe with his driving skills, big thank you to Danish and Aahil! The tour guide in Jaipur was very motivated and shared a lot of information with us. He gave us enough time to see all the interessting places that we have visited. Without the agency we would not have seen so many places in such a short time. We highly recommend Taj Tour Trip!

What people love about Fully Guided Tours

Fabulous selections of sights to see each day. We upgraded one step for hotels and all had great rooms n staff. Super food buffets n dinners selection for on our own were great. Most guides were very formative and helpful. Our driver Danish really made the trip enjoyable. We would go on another TourRadar in the future.
Awesome trip. You will get to see so many great places and it's a huge relief to not be having to take care of the whole itinerary yourself. Everything is taken care of. Our tour guide Minh was an amazing guide and he was handling every situation like a pro. He gave us exceptionally detailed information which helped a lot in a tour where there is tons of traveling. Thank you so much for the experience! :)
This tour is perfect for anyone wanting to explore Bali in a safe and fun way! Everything is arranged for you, so you can sit back and relax. There is a perfect mix or arranged activities and free time to enjoy extra things you’d like to see! All the hotels were really nice and the areas we stayed in were brilliant. This trip did not disappoint at all… it was perfect

  • It’s a legitimate and reliable site for easily booking tours worldwide from your computer or the mobile app.
  • There is a huge variety of tours available in popular destinations, especially Europe. It can help you do everything from making macaroons in Paris, to snorkeling with sea turtles in the Pacific Ocean, or touring Alcatraz in San Francisco.
  • Pricing is competitive but extra fees can sometimes apply—as with anything, read the entire tour description.
  • Customer service provides flexibility with the 24 hour cancellation policy and assistance as needed.

Tours can make or break your vacation. I know it does for me. That’s why it’s essential to know if the guided tour you’re going on is good.

GetYourGuide is one of my go-to tour booking sites because of its easy booking process and reliability.

GetYourGuide works with local guides to give you the best experience possible without taking advantage of the community you’re visiting.

I’ve often used GetYourGuide in places like Europe and the United States. I did my travel planning quickly because of the many tours and activities available.

Read my GetYourGuide review and add another tool to your toolbox when planning the vacation of a lifetime.

What is GetYourGuide?

A screenshot of the GetYourGuide website 'about' page, which displays. a photo of a woman kayaking.

GetYourGuide is an online tour operator that organizes activities with local travel companies.

You can purchase everything from skip-the-line tickets to a private tour to guided hikes.

GetYourGuide began when a handful of classmates started the website in 2009. They were determined to change the travel game forever.

The idea originated from a trip that Johannes and Tao–two of the founders–took to Beijing.

Johannes arrived a day early, and Tao wasn’t there to show him around.

The two friends recognized a universal issue: Travelers arrive at new dream destinations but don’t know where to begin.

I like GetYourGuide because their website makes it easier for me to start planning a trip.

By searching through their database, I can find everything from unique tours to the top tours and activities worldwide.

How Does GetYourGuide Work?

A screenshot of the 'Cultural Experiences' page on the GetYourGuide website.

Search Desired Location

Most travelers use Get Your Guide to search for guides at their predetermined destination.

In this case, it’s easy to type in the desired location at the top of the Get Your Guide web page.

Several tours pop up after searching for the destination.

Tours with the highest reviews rank highest. From here, I use the filter options that Get Your Guide offers.

If I can’t find a tour from the main search, I select filters like:

  • For first-time visitors
  • Landmarks & monuments
  • Entry tickets
  • Family-friendly activities
  • Culture & History
  • Guided tours
  • Viewing points

I often find opportunities I hadn’t thought of, like sandboarding or kayaking through caves.

Choose Your Ideal Tour

Choosing the ideal tour can be difficult, especially with so many options. Keep in mind that the Best-Seller certificate indicates the highest quality tours.

Read the tour description thoroughly, as that’ll give you a clear understanding of what the tour offers.

After finding the perfect tour, fill out the information like name, email, and credit card details.

I could pay for my tour with PayPal, Google Pay, Apple Pay, or a credit card. And there aren’t any hidden fees or booking fees when you book tickets on GetYourGuide.

Once the payment is complete, you’ll receive a confirmation email with all the details for your tour.

That’s it! Booking your own guided tour is that easy.

Pro tip: Visit the promo code webpage and enter your email to receive a one-time GetYourGuide promo code. The code gives 10% off on some tours.

Meet Your Tour Guide at the Specified Location

After purchasing my tour, I received an email stating the meeting point to join the tour company.

Sometimes, the tour operators ask for the local address of your hotel, Airbnb, or hostel.

When I visited Rainbow Mountain in Peru, we sent them our local address and photos of our passports.

Some tour guides offer to pick you up, and others specify a meeting place (or multiple meeting points).

Booking tours through GetYourGuide is simple, but sometimes, the local agency is unclear about the meeting point.

I suggest contacting the tour provider if you’re unsure about the meeting point.

GetYourGuide Review: My Experience With Using GetYourGuide

A hand holds an iPhone, looking at the GetYourGuide app, with a soft-focus living room in the background.

Public and Private Tours

Most activities through GetYourGuide are public, but there are some private tours.

I prefer booking a private tour when I know I want to be in a small group.

For me, activities in nature–like guided hikes–are more peaceful in smaller groups.

I use the filters to narrow my search to private tours by clicking See More Categories, then Private Tours.

Using the filters on the Get Your Guide website cuts my results in half, sometimes more. From there, it’s easier to find tickets.

Day Trips and Multi-day Trips

Most of the tours I find through Get Your Guide are day trips. Still, there are tons of shorter or longer experiences.

While researching Peru, I used the Duration filter to see 12 pages of cooking classes, sunset excursions, and viewpoint tickets.

The shorter guided experiences help enrich long days. While planning a day trip, I’ll check out the city tours and popular activities.

Get Your Guide also offers multi-day trips, like the Salkantay Trek in Peru. I wanted to do this hike, but it was a significant investment.

While I’m sure that booking multi-day trips through Get Your Guide is fine, my travel companions and I still felt more comfortable booking extensive tours with local companies in town.

Plus, I’ve learned that I can usually save money by booking locally because of the currency exchange.

Self-Guided Tours

GetYourGuide also offers self-guided tours that you can download onto your phone and listen to at any time.

These tours come in audio and visual form. I haven’t purchased any of the self-guided tours yet, but I’ve noticed a few things.

On the GetYourGuide website, I suggest searching for “audio tour [location name]” instead of “self-guided tour.” They’re listed as “Other Experience,” which meant I had to click on the tours to check that they were in fact, audio or visual tours.

I actually found it just as productive to Google phrases like “GetYourGuide audio tour Italy.”

It’s also inconvenient to download the tours since they aren’t all housed on the official GetYourGuide app. The tours are created by different agencies that have their own apps.

You’ll download the app ahead of time and then receive a link to access the tour. Most tours can be refunded as long as they’re “returned” ahead of time and not activated.

Despite being clunky, I did find a lot of unique tours. My favorites were the Paris History of Crime Tour and a complete package of US National Park tours .

Transportation through GetYourGuide

Not all travel booking sites offer transportation services. Get Your Guide works with local drivers to pick you up from your accommodation and take you to the airport.

Airport shuttles are available with a one-way or round-trip ticket.

I first started looking into transportation services through the GetYourGuide website because I’m planning a trip to Mendoza, Argentina.

Booking a ride this way is surprisingly convenient and cheap, even for budget travelers.

Tickets to Attractions through GetYourGuide

Get Your Guide is the perfect platform to use for European sightseeing.

For example, Florence is one of the most popular places in the world to travel to and one of my favorite cities.

Florence is chock-full of sightseeing, and it’s easy to book tours through Get Your Guide.

Just like filtering for specific durations, I filter based on my interests.

The homepage of Get Your Guide has four main categories: Sports, Culture, Food, and Nature.

You can manually select more specific activities by typing them into the search bar or choosing the “Filters” button once you decide on a travel destination.

I love these features because booking an architecture-focused day trip to Pisa one day and a walking tour of Siena the next was easy.

The advantage of touring with a local provider is that they know the ins and outs of their city.

GetYourGuide App

I love booking tickets directly on the app when on a long bus ride or in the car.

When I find tours and activities, I can save them to my wishlist.

Then, I’ll book tours on the guide app or my computer once I return to my Airbnb .

I stay logged into my GetYourGuide account on the website and the app. This way, my wishlist is available on my phone and computer.

Finding the same tour and tour operators on either device is a matter of clicks.

Plus, anytime I have a travel-related conversation, it’s easy to open my phone and bring up some of my top bucket list activities.

DOWNLOAD THE GETYOURGUIDE APP HERE:

Skip the Line Tickets

Sometimes, I’m not feeling a tour, but there’s still a sight I need to see. Skip-the-line tickets are the perfect way to see a popular attraction without waiting long.

The line to see Michelangelo’s David is horrible, but buying my entrance ticket beforehand means more time to explore the city. . . and more time to enjoy wine in the evening.

Unfortunately, sometimes there’s a booking fee for these sorts of tickets.

But sometimes it’s worth the extra booking fees to receive the ticket before others.

Price Guarantee

GetYourGuide offers a price guarantee , which ensures you won’t pay more on their official site than you would through other tour companies.

One time, I booked a tour in Italy and found the same activity for cheaper elsewhere. I contacted Get Your Guide, and they paid the difference!

Before you do this, make sure each tour includes the same things. It pays to compare prices!

A view of the shoulder of a man whose hands are typing on a keyboard in front of a computer monitor displaying the GetYourGuide website homepage with experiences for San Francisco.

Easy to Use

More than anything else, I love the easy interface of GetYourGuid’s website and app. They take what can be a confusing process and make it simple.

GetYourGuide makes finding activities that everyone will enjoy simple, and I can buy tickets within seconds.

Other travel booking sites don’t always make this process easy. I respect GetYourGuide for prioritizing that.

Great Cancellation Policy

I may be jumping ahead here, but it must be said. GetYourGuide has a worry-free cancellation policy .

I’ll go into more detail later, but the most crucial feature is free cancellation within 24 hours of the tours and activities.

Large Selection of Tours in Popular Destinations

If GetYourGuide didn’t have a large selection of tours, we might not have had this conversation.

But there are many different tours in places like North America, Europe, and Australia.

It’s also nice knowing that local companies are getting paid, too, and it’s not bad for the local economy.

Other travelers will agree that it’s fun daydreaming about travel by looking up tours with a local company.

A computer monitor sits on a white desk, displaying the GetYourGuide website homepage with experiences for San Francisco.

Very Few Tours in Some Parts of the World

It’s a bummer that GetYourGuide doesn’t have as many tours in South America and Central America.

I love the rugged travel style of these places, but sometimes I want to do a couple of tours before setting out on the less-trodden path.

GetYourGuide offers tours to trendy places like Machu Picchu. It skips some of the less flashy destinations, like tours around a town or small hikes.

One of my favorite Central American countries, Guatemala, has very few tours to choose from. I was there for two months and never opened the app.

Not Many Nature Tours

Now, this is changing for the better, but I want more adventure activities to choose between.

Sometimes, when I go to a new city, I want to see what the suburbs are like and what adventures await outside the city limits.

Simple tours of little-known locations aren’t as popular because many tourists visit to see the big attractions.

GetYourGuide Cancellation & Exchange Policy

A view of the shoulder of a man whose hands are typing on a keyboard in front of a computer monitor displaying the GetYourGuide website homepage.

Things come up that we have no control over. That’s why booking tours with a good cancellation policy is essential.

GetYourGuide offers free cancellation for their own tours and activities within 24 hours.

An issue arose while traveling through Europe, so I canceled one of our GetYourGuide tours. I received a full refund, no questions asked!

Be sure to read the fine print of every tour that you book. There could be different rules for each activity.

The cancelation process itself is easy. You go to the Help Center and follow the instructions for Cancellation. The form asks for your booking reference and pin.

There’s less risk when you buy tours that you can cancel so easily.

FAQs About GetYourGuide

A hand points to a spot on a globe sitting on a white desk in front of a computer monitor displaying the GetYourGuide website homepage

Is GetYourGuide legit?

GetYourGuide is legit and a great way to find some of the best activities worldwide!

Countries that don’t have many GetYourGuide options might seem less legit because of the lack of GetYourGuide reviews. I suggest finding activities with many good reviews.

Who is GetYourGuide owned by?

Four former classmates in Switzerland started and own GetYourGuide. Those four are Tao Tao, Martin Sieber, Johannes Reck & Tobias Rein.

Their goal was to create a platform where everyone could find the best activities worldwide, all in one place. Safe to say they achieved this.

Is GetYourGuide the same as Viator?

GetYourGuide is the same concept as Viator , but two different groups of people own them. TripAdvisor , the popular online travel forum company, owns Viator.

Which is better, Viator or GetYourGuide?

Viator and GetYourGuide are fantastic sites that help thousands of travelers find things to do in a specific destination. With that said, both of these are better for different areas.

Viator is better in the United States, while GetYourGuide has many activities in Canada/Europe.

What does “Certified by GetYourGuide” mean?

Choosing an activity with the golden “Certified by GetYourGuide” on the page means it’s a proven quality activity. When I book a tour with this, I have no worries.

If I have to choose between a tour with or without the golden certificate, I always choose the one with it.

The last thing I want to worry about on vacation is whether or not I booked a good tour.

Which countries should I use GetYourGuide in?

GetYourGuide is a good service for booking your tour in the most popular destinations worldwide.

I’ve had good luck with GetYourGuide in Europe, Canada, Dubai, Australia, and even many countries in Southeast Asia!

There are some spots you should keep your expectations low for.

Latin America is a part of the world that doesn’t have many activities available. Even so, I found quality activities with local guides in places like Cusco and Medellin.

Conclusion: So, is GetYourGuide worth it?

A hand holds an iPhone, looking at the GetYourGuide app, with a soft-focus living room in the background.

I always use GetYourGuide when researching things to do in a new location. This site is valuable and worth your time.

I think it’s the most reliable 3rd party tour site today. I love how they work with locals and aren’t trying to detract from the country’s economy.

If you’re going to Europe this summer, check out the GetYourGuide hotel pickup and all the necessary information for the best day.

I wish Latin American countries had more GetYourGuide opportunities, but I know that time is coming.

My experience with their guides, website, and customer service has been top-notch. Of course, though, just like every other company, you can find GetYourGuide complaints.

Planning the perfect trip is hard. GetYourGuide has opportunities for all of my fellow travelers. From multi-day activities to workshops/classes, GetYourGuide has it all.

Whenever I start my research for my next vacation, I go to GetYourGuide–and I think you should, too!

GetYourGuide Review [2024]: Are they legit? My thoughts

GetYourGuide Review [2024]: Are they legit? My thoughts

GetYourGuide sets out to help travelers find highly rated tours and itineraries to popular destinations around the world. But is it legit, and does it hold up to its claims? I checked them out to find out. Explore my review and avoid booking until you find out what I know.

guide tour com

They say you don’t get rich by earning, but by traveling. The world is like a round canvas that serves you with colorful stories. The story changes at every turn, with unknown alleys, changing faces, and shifting cultures.

However, I find it all looks dreamy until reality hits you with the complicated planning of trips. Most of us give up on the idea of a trip because searching for all the details, including accommodations, tour guides, and transportation, is very stressful.

That’s when I turned to a travel agency that would guide me on what to see and how to see the place the best. The Pilot team has reviewed similar services like G Adventures and Viator , but how about GetYourGuide?

That's what I'm getting into today!

GetYourGuide gives you the right kind of travel experience with its efficient touring solutions considering your needs. Here is my GetYourGuide review to help you choose the unmissable things in your travel destination. I'll talk about what I like and what I don't like about GetYourGuide.

Let's get into it...

GetYourGuide Logo

What Is GetYourGuide?

GetYourGuide is an online tour-organizing company that thrives globally and operates from Germany. It stepped into the scene in 2009 with 4 enthusiastic classmates Johannes Reck, Tao Tao, Tobias Rein, and Martin Sieber.

The squad started off as local guides and, within a decade, expanded to what the company is now.

You can reach out to GetYourGuide through its official website or mobile app for Android and iOS. You can check the right time to travel to your favorite destination, what are the fun things to see, and what places you cannot miss. GetYourGuide has you covered.

The company also serves you with mobile ticketing, discounts, and offers on flight bookings, hotel bookings, and an easy cancellation process.

How Does GetYourGuide Work?

Now you might ask how do I join my guide via GetYourGuide or how it works. Well, I found it works in a pretty simplified manner:

  • Check if your desired destination is in the places where GetYourGuide has its services.
  • Register through their website or download the GetYourGuide app.
  • Specify your travel destination and dates. Also, enter other specifications, like your interests and what kind of places you wish to visit. Remember that GetYourGuide offers simplified filter options like activities, cuisines, outdoors, local sightseeing, nightlife, rentals, etc. You can choose according to your preference.
  • Book your activities in advance by selecting from their list.
  • Go to checkout, where you must fill in your name, email ID, and credit card details. You'll also enter any GetYourGuide coupon and GetYourGuide promo code to get fun discounts.

What Destinations Does GetYourGuide Cover?

GetYourGuide covers pretty much all the top destinations in the world. This includes places like New York City in the States, Bali in Indonesia, and Paris in France.

I've highlighted a few of the popular countries here:

  • From North America , GetYourGuide covers: United States, Mexico, Canada, Bahamas, Jamaica, Panama.
  • From South America , GetYourGuide covers: Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay, Chile, Columbia, Ecuador
  • From Europe , GetYourGuide covers: Italy, Germany, Poland, France, Russia, United Kingdom
  • From Africa , GetYourGuide covers: South Africa, Egypt, Morocco, Kenya, Ghana, Zimbabwe
  • From Asia , GetYourGuide covers: Japan, India, China, Qatar, Singapore, United Arab Emirates
  • From Oceania , GetYourGuide covers: Australia, New Zealand, New Caledonia, Samoa, Fiji.

What's Great About GetYourGuide

So I enjoy that GetYourGuide touts comprehensive features with additional perks and benefits. Here are just a few points to showcase the benefits:

  • A Wide Range of Activities : GetYourGuide includes more than 50,000 tours and activities worldwide. It also provides attraction tickets, city tours, food and cultural experiences, and many more. There's always something to do.
  • User-Friendly Interface : GetYourGuide makes your booking experience so much more enjoyable. It takes me no time to find and book tours with a user-friendly and streamlined interface.
  • Check the Customer Reviews : I'm the type of person that needs to know what the reviews say. These reviews help me understand people's previous experiences with bookings and activity tours.
  • Get the Tickets on Your Mobile : Once you book your tickets, you can directly get them on your mobile instead of getting your tickets printed. Paper-free, baby!
  • No Booking Fee : I love this! You have to pay the cost of your tours and activities, but that's it. GetYourGuide doesn’t charge any booking fees.
  • Free Cancellation : If you change your plan, GetYourGuide offers free cancellation without any hustle. But the offer is valid up to 24 hours before the event, so you still have to be on your best planning behavior.

What’s Not So Great About GetYourGuide

I've talked about what's excellent about GetYourGuide, but nothing's without flaws. I've combed through GetYourGuide reviews, so you wouldn't have to.

Let's discuss some of the problems with GetYourGuide.

  • One Location and Multiple Tours : GetYourGuide can showcase one tourist attraction multiple times. It happens mainly because various suppliers offer various touring options and prices for one tourist attraction. Even though it’s a good thing because you can choose from multiple options, it can also confuse people.
  • Confusion in Meeting Point : Sometimes, the meeting point can get confusing. However, it's not GetYourGuide’s fault since the tour organizer didn’t explain the description correctly.
  • Many Options for Tours and Sights : Since GetYourGuide offers multiple tours and activities for any city, people often get confused. For people who only want to do the must-do things, GetYourGuide is not a suitable option.
  • Not Useful for Asian Tours and Sightseeing : GetYourGuide works fine for European sightseeing. But for Asian tours and activities, it's not that useful. It happens mainly because, unlike most Asian tours, European tours require pre-booking.

GetYourGuide Reviews

As I mentioned earlier, I have to know what those reviews say. So, what exactly are people saying about GetYourGuide?

There are many mixed reviews online about the company, ranging from a horrible experience on Tripadvisor to one of the best tour companies around. Great, a mixed bag, haha.

Let's talk about the bad stuff first. Previous customers who had a poor experience with GetYourGuide recommend reading all of the fine print before booking. Others have commented that scheduled tours are canceled at the last minute, which would surely spoil your trip.

Hasn't been my experience, but I agree this would be a big bummer for my trip.

However, most of the reviews on Trustpilot tend to skew positive as reviewers mention how knowledgeable and professional the local experts at GetYourGuide are.

What's also great is how easy it is to book tours with banging deals and no hidden fees. People also seem to be rather content with the customer service, mentioning that GetYourGuide is reliable.

Is GetYourGuide Legit?

That would be most peoples' biggest concern, and it was also my first question... "Is GetYourGuide Legit?"

The short answer is yes , GetYourGuide is definitely legit! You're getting experts that know what they're talking about and decent transparency about the operation.

Is GetYourGuide Worth It?

This is the most challenging question to answer because each traveler is unique. If you're headed to Europe, I've found GetYourGuide to be worthwhile.

While its range of activities, zero booking fees, and operation in many countries, the company provides an excellent incentive for budget travelers. That being said, if cost isn't an option, it may be worth more research into local companies.

Certainly, I recommend you exercise caution and read the terms and conditions before you book the tickets. GetYourGuide specifies that it holds no liability for any third-party errors.

Also, if the tour description is confusing, turn around! The reviews show that these have underwhelmed many travelers.

Remember, each booking requires your valid email ID and proper credit card information. You must fulfill their age criteria of 18 years and above.

Generally, the legitimacy of GetYourGuide is entirely dependent on individual experiences and activities. Absolutely, worth a try if you find something that sounds amazing.

My Rating: 3.7/5

  • Free, flexible cancellation policy
  • Variety of activities
  • No booking fees
  • Mobile-friendly tickets
  • Numerous poorly described tours
  • Great only in European Countries
  • Confusing tour logistics

General GetYourGuide FAQs

Does getyourguide offer price guarantee.

Yes! In their commitment to ensuring you always get the best value for your money, GetYourGuide has a Best Price Matching policy.

Have you found the exact same activity you've booked via GetYourGuide on another online platform for a lower price? Well, you're in for a treat!

GetYourGuide will refund the difference between what you paid and the lower price you found, provided that certain conditions are met. The conditions you must meet are as follows:

  • The activity needs to be identical in terms of conditions, like the date, city, and number of participants.
  • The services offered in the activity must be the same.
  • It should be bookable with the same supplier.

To take advantage of this fantastic offer, you only need to send GetYourGuide the link or a screenshot of the cheaper offer. After they verify that the offer is cheaper, the customer service team will refund the difference, which could even be in the form of a voucher.

It's important to note that offers that are part of loyalty or trust programs aren't eligible for this price match. Keep an eye out for special deals and discount promotions from GetYourGuide, which are always clearly marked.

Is This Platform Good for Last Minute Tickets?

Yes, GetYourGuide can be a good platform for booking last-minute tickets. Many tours and activities offer availability up to the last minute.

Please note that this can vary based on the specific kind of tour or activity, and availability can change quickly.

Can I Change My Booking?

Changes to your booking can often be made, but it depends on the specific terms and conditions of the tour or activity you've booked.

What Happens If the Operator Cancels a Tour or Activity I've Booked?

If the operator cancels a tour or activity, GetYourGuide will typically offer a full refund or try to reschedule your booking, depending on your preference.

How Will I Receive My Tickets?

After booking with GetYourGuide, you'll typically receive a confirmation email with a voucher or ticket that you can print or show on your mobile device.

What Should I Do if I Have Issues With a Tour or Activity I booked Through GetYourGuide?

If you have any problems with a booking, you should contact GetYourGuide's customer service. They can help resolve issues or answer any questions you have.

What Are Alternatives to GetYourGuide?

There are many other platforms offering similar services to GetYourGuide. Some of the popular ones include Viator, Klook, Expedia, and Airbnb Experiences.

Charging elephant kills an American woman on 'bucket list trip' in Zambia

An American woman who was on what she had called her "last big trip" was killed when a charging elephant flipped over the car she was traveling in at a national park in Zambia .

The “aggressive” creature buffeted the vehicle carrying six tourists and a guide, tour operator Wilderness said in a statement Tuesday. It said the 79-year-old victim died after Saturday's incident on a game drive at the Kafue National Park in western Zambia.

The company did not name the victim but Rona Wells, her daughter, identified her as Gail Mattson in a post on Facebook. She said her mother died in a “tragic accident while on her dream adventure.”

A video circulating on social media apparently showing the incident shows a large elephant running toward a car, which slows down as the animal approaches its left side. The elephant then flips the vehicle over and the passengers can be heard gasping as the car rolls over.

NBC News does not know the condition or identity of the person who filmed the video.

Photos shared online of the car, which is emblazoned with the logo of the tour operator, show it tipped onto its side after the incident, with a deep dent in two of its side doors.

Wilderness, which describes itself as a “leading conservation and hospitality company” operating in eight African countries, including Zambia, did not respond to NBC News when asked to confirm the authenticity of the video and the photos.

But the tour operator’s CEO, Keith Vincent, said in the statement that the company’s “guides are all extremely well trained and experienced.”

"Sadly in this instance the terrain and vegetation was such that the guide’s route became blocked and he could not move the vehicle out of harm’s way quickly enough,” he added.

Gail Mattson, during a safari in Zambia

Another woman was also injured in the incident and taken to a medical facility in South Africa, the Wilderness statement said, adding that four others were treated for minor injuries.

“It’s extremely rare to see an elephant that irate,” Marlon du Toit, a wildlife photographer and safari guide, told the “TODAY” show Thursday. “Across Africa, there are thousands and thousands of guests on safari on a daily basis with no negative consequences.”

The exact cause of Mattson’s death was unclear, but the company said her body would be repatriated to her family in the United States with the support of local Zambian authorities and the U.S. Embassy in the capital, Lusaka.

“This is a tragic event and we extend our deepest condolences to the family of the guest who died,” the statement added.

NBC News has reached out to Mattson's family for further comment.

Kafue National Park is Zambia’s largest and oldest national park, according to its website, and spans an area of more than 8,000 square miles. Vast regions of the park remain unexplored and the website says it is home to a variety of untamed wildlife.

A 'bucket list trip'

Mattson spent her winters in Sun City West, Arizona, playing bridge and cards, but during the rest of the year, she "travels all over the world," her friend Brenda Biggs told NBC News. Biggs and her husband, John Longabauth, became friends with Mattson when they moved to the area 6 ½ years ago.

Longabauth said Mattson spoke to the couple about her upcoming safari trip about two weeks ago, and called it "one of her bucket list trips." He said she was very excited for the adventure.

Before she left, she gave the couple concert tickets for a show that would happen while she was traveling, telling them to enjoy the concert and "I'll see you when I get back," Longabauth recalled of the conversation.

Biggs said Mattson, who was almost 80 years old, told her that the African safari was her "my last big trip." She said Mattson was "super excited because it was like the culmination of all the trips that she had gone on."

An avid traveler, Mattson took to trips to Europe and Asia, Longabauth recalled, noting that she might have been to South America, too.

Biggs called her friend "flamboyant," "friendly" and "fabulous" and said she loved bright colors. Mattson had taken over Biggs’ job as the event planner for their 200-member bridge club, she said.

"Gail was one of the more up people you'd ever want to meet," Longabauth said. "She was always up. She was always optimistic. She was always seeing the good side of everybody."

From 89 to one: A step-by-step guide to identifying the Masters winner

Golfbet and others will spend this week tipping you into a myriad of potential market winners, but I’m going to start by giving you 88 losers. Don’t laugh… we went through this process of elimination a year ago and arrived at the eventual champion in Jon Rahm. The trends of recent Masters winners are strong indicators for who will slip on the green jacket next.

So without further ado…

From 89 to 88

Step 1: The betting favorite hasn’t won in 19 years. Drama from the beginning as we haven’t had this short of a Masters favorite since Tiger Woods was +350 in 2013 (he finished T4), but world No.1 Scottie Scheffler, at +400, is gone right off the bat! He filled this slot a year ago as well and, as we know, did not defend his 2022 green jacket. The last favorite to win was Woods in 2005.

  • Eliminated: Scottie Scheffler.

From 88 to 68

Step 2: A Masters debutant hasn’t won since Fuzzy Zoeller in 1979. This could be one of the best debutant classes at Augusta National in some time, led by U.S. Open champion Wyndham Clark and European Ryder Cup star Ludvig Åberg, but history shows they’ll need at least one year’s worth of experience to fully figure out this place.

  • Eliminated: Ludvig Åberg, Akshay Bhatia, Wyndham Clark, Eric Cole, Santiago de la Fuente, Nick Dunlap, Austin Eckroat, Ryo Hisatsune, Lee Hodges, Nicolai Højgaard, Stephan Jaeger, Jake Knapp, Christo Lamprecht, Peter Malnati, Denny McCarthy, Grayson Murray, Matthieu Pavon, Adam Schenk, Neal Shipley, Jasper Stubbs.

From 68 to 63

Step 3: No one over age 50 has won the Masters. Having the former champions is a great tradition at Augusta National and we seemingly always have one of them in the mix at some stage, but the older brigade ultimately comes up short over the course of four rounds.

  • Eliminated: Fred Couples, Mike Weir, Vijay Singh, Jose Maria Olazabal, Phil Mickelson.

From 63 to 50

Step 4: No player from Austria, Chile, Colombia, Denmark, Ireland, Korea, New Zealand, Northern Ireland, Norway or Poland has won the Masters. Carrying your own dreams and expectations at the Masters can be hard enough. Adding an entire nation’s hopes on your shoulders makes it even tougher. While Hideki Matsuyama (Japan) and Adam Scott (Australia) added their countries to the honor roll in the last 11 years, they are exceptions to the rule. (Sorry, Rory!)

  • Eliminated: Sepp Straka, Joaquin Niemann, Camilo Villegas, Thorbjorn Olesen, Shane Lowry, Byeong Hun An, Sungjae Im, Si Woo Kim, Tom Kim, Ryan Fox, Rory McIlroy, Viktor Hovland, Adrian Meronk.

From 50 to 42

Step 5: An incredible 24 of the last 26 winners had a top-30 finish at the Masters under their belt prior to winning at Augusta National. Experience can’t be underestimated. Knowing how to get around Augusta National somewhat successfully is key.

  • Eliminated: Cam Davis, Stewart Hagestad, Max Homa, Kurt Kitayama, Luke List, Taylor Moore, J.T. Poston, Erik van Rooyen.

From 42 to 30

Step 6: Eight of the last nine champions were first-time Masters winners. While multiple Masters titles used to be more common, the trend of late is expanding the annual champions’ dinner. This is where we lose some huge names, five-time winner Tiger Woods included!

  • Eliminated: Sergio Garcia, Dustin Johnson, Zach Johnson, Hideki Matsuyama, Jon Rahm, Patrick Reed, Charl Schwartzel, Adam Scott, Jordan Spieth, Bubba Watson, Danny Willett, Tiger Woods.

From 30 to 17

Step 7: You have to be dialed in at the Masters unless you putt unconsciously. Augusta National is a second-shot golf course, and 11 of the last 12 winners ranked inside the top seven in Greens in Regulation in their victory. Seven of the last eight were averaging at least 67.18% of GIR in their season leading into the Masters.

  • Eliminated: Collin Morikawa, Will Zalatoris, Brian Harman, Russell Henley, Patrick Cantlay, Nick Taylor, Justin Thomas, Rickie Fowler, Gary Woodland, Jason Day, Justin Rose, Min Woo Lee, Cameron Smith.

From 17 to 16

Step 8: The last 12 Masters champions had at least one top 10 in a major championship prior to their win. Until you get in the mix on the back nine Sunday in a major, it’s hard to know how you’ll play under the pressure.

  • Eliminated: Sam Burns.

From 16 to 11

Step 9: The last 18 Masters champions have started very well with a first-round scoring average of 68.56. With all of them inside the top 11 on the leaderboard after the opening round, it's time to eliminate those without a first-round scoring average in the 60s this season.

  • Eliminated: Keegan Bradley, Matt Fitzpatrick, Tommy Fleetwood, Lucas Glover, Adam Hadwin.

From 11 to 9

Step 10: Trending counts at Augusta National: 25 of the last 26 winners played – and made the cut – in the Masters prior to their win. Recent Masters success matters, no matter what you do between. Corey Conners came in off a win last year but didn’t make the weekend.

  • Eliminated: Bryson DeChambeau, Corey Conners.

From 9 to 8

Step 11: Let’s take that a little deeper: 23 of the last 26 winners were at least T38 or better in the Masters start prior to donning the green jacket. Splitting hairs now, but a T43 the year prior isn’t good enough when we get down to the serious business!

  • Eliminated: Harris English.

From 8 to 5

Step 12: Seven of the last 10 Masters winners were devoid of significant scar tissue around Augusta National before claiming their win, having four or fewer Masters rounds of 75 or more prior to triumph. Nine of those players were first-time champions, so if you factor in Tiger Woods having just three 75+ rounds before winning his first-ever Masters in 1997, then this gets stronger. The past is catching up with a few players here.

  • Eliminated: Emiliano Grillo, Tyrrell Hatton, Brooks Koepka

From 5 to 2

Step 13: Strokes Gained: Tee-to-Green has been a good indicator for Masters champions. The last 12 winners had gained at least 18 strokes in their previous four measured starts leading into the Masters.

  • Eliminated: Tony Finau, Chris Kirk, Sahith Theegala

From 2 to 1

Step 14: With just two players left, we need to get cutthroat. The last five Masters champions all sported Augusta National scoring averages under par prior to their win. They showed a trend towards success. While Cameron Young is coming off a T7 finish last year, his average of 72.67 from six rounds is over par at Augusta.

  • Eliminated: Cameron Young.

After all that we are left with just one player. The next Masters champion will be +1600 option Xander Schauffele.

You’re welcome.

Woman implicated in tour guide’s death

guide tour com

A St James woman, who is accused of staging a car deal to lure a man to a location, where he was murdered by gunmen, has been assigned to face a plea and case management hearing in the St James Circuit Court on July 5.

Tiandra Reid, a saleswoman of an Upper King Street address in Montego Bay, was arrested and charged last June with murder, conspiracy to commit murder, and misprision of a felony, following the murder of Robert 'Priest' Harvey. He was killed months earlier, at a location, where he had allegedly agreed to meet up with Reid pursuant to the sale of a vehicle. When Reid appeared before High Court Justice Bertram Morrison last week, it was disclosed that the prosecution's case file has been completed. Justice Morrison subsequently set July 5 as the new court date. Reid's bail was extended.

According to the allegation against Reid, on March 15, 2023, at about 5:45 p.m., she made telephone contact with Harvey, a 42-year-old tour guide driver and car salesman of Bogue Hill in Montego Bay, telling him that she had an interest in a vehicle he was selling. The two arranged to meet at the location. Reid went to the location, and while waiting in his vehicle, a Toyota Corolla Axio motor car, with the gunmen and Reid on board, pulled up alongside him. The men opened gunfire on Harvey hitting him multiple times before speeding away.

The police were summoned and on their arrival, Harvey was transported to hospital where he was pronounced dead. Following investigations, Reid was arrested on June 6. She was subsequently charged two weeks later, after a question-and-answer session.

Solar eclipse glasses are needed for safety, but they sure are confusing. What to know.

Editor's note: An updated cloud forecast for the April 2024 total solar eclipse is in. Read the latest eclipse forecast and news as of Wednesday, April 3 .

You can't control the weather or the traffic , but one thing you can do right now ahead of the total solar eclipse is to get yourself a pair of special eclipse glasses , so you can safely view the cosmic spectacle.

The total eclipse will cross over a dozen states as it traverses from Texas to Maine on the afternoon of April 8.  Millions of people are expected to travel  to see it.

Astronomers and other experts say that eclipse watchers should wear  specialized eyewear  crafted to  protect your sensitive retinas  from permanent damage. And that means eclipse glasses .

Fortunately, solar eclipse glasses are still readily available  from plenty of vendors across the internet. Unfortunately, there's fears of fake glasses , and sometimes testing your glasses at home is the best way to know if they're safe.

Here's  what to know  about eclipse glasses and where you can get a pair of your own.

Where to find solar eclipse glasses

As the eclipse approaches, many places like local libraries, astronomical observatories, schools and other public agencies are providing proper eyewear, often for free.

Or you can just order them on the internet: Many eclipse websites like GreatAmericanEclipse.com and NationalEclipse.com sell a variety of eyewear products, along with plenty of other gadgets one may need to see the eclipse.

Of course,  Amazon  and plenty of other online retailers are also selling solar eclipse glasses in bulk, meaning you'll have plenty to share with your friends and family. American Paper Optics, the nation's largest supplier of eclipse glasses, even offers  express shipping  across the country.

More: You'll need eye protection for the solar eclipse. Here's what to know about safety glasses

Watch out for fake glasses

With online platforms like Amazon listing thousands of eclipse viewers, fears of fake or counterfeit glasses have grown.

"We do see glasses coming from China that have printing on them that say they're made in the U.S. or that they are made by one of the American manufacturers," Rick Fienberg, the project manager of the American Astronomical Society's solar eclipse task force, told USA TODAY.

When in doubt, buyers should refer back to the list of  official sellers and manufacturers maintained by the AAS , which communicates directly with sellers and manufacturers and checks test reports.

The list includes well-known North American manufacturers like American Paper Optics, as well as several large grocery and retail chains in the U.S. like Walmart, Lowe's and Kroger.

More: How to safely watch the total solar eclipse: You will need glasses

Real, but rare, examples of eye damage

Doctors and a rare set of eclipse watchers have warned  about watching the eclipse without adequate eclipse glasses or with the naked eye that has resulted in rare cases of eye damage. The damage occurs because people's natural response to squint when looking at direct sunlight does not get triggered when a partial eclipse happens.

Such was the case with one Staten Island woman who  watched the 2017 eclipse using faulty glasses that caused severe retinal damage. Doctors from Mount Sinai's New York Eye and Ear Infirmary chronicled this luckily rare case in  JAMA Ophthalmology , a medical journal. The woman told doctors that she had  gazed at the moon passing in front of the sun  through what she  thought were protective glasses . The damage on her left retina, the area at the back of the eye where the brain receives images, looked like the shape of a partial  eclipse .

"It's a very focused beam of high-energy light from the sun itself,” Dr. Avnish Deobhakta, an ophthalmologist at the Mount Sinai infirmary who treated the woman, told USA TODAY. “It can actually destroy parts of the retina, and certainly destroy it in the shape of an eclipse.”

How can you test eclipse glasses?

NASA shared an easy method to check eclipse glasses at home.

Buyers should put on their glasses and look at a bright light, like a flashlight. If the light is "extremely dim," or doesn't appear at all, the glasses are safe, Susannah Darling, of NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center, said in an instructional video. Viewers should be able to see the filament of the lightbulb, not the glow surrounding the bulb.

Get free glasses

With safety in mind, there are ways to get free solar eclipse glasses .

The online eye retailer Warby Parker is offering members of the public a pair of ISO-certified glasses starting Monday. Warby Parker retail locations nationwide, find one  here.

But there are plenty of other retailers giving out free glasses that range from Smoothie King to the protein bar Perfect Snacks, which will give out glasses alongside a chocolate brownie flavor.

Harry Styles' Hometown 'Recruiting' Fans for Tour Guide Position

The singer's native village, Holmes Chapel in Cheshire, England, is looking for 'Harries' to take visitors on guided tours

Calling all Harry Styles fans – your dream job is waiting!

The singer’s hometown, Holmes Chapel in Cheshire, England, has launched a new job opportunity and is “recruiting Harry Styles fans” specifically.

In the village’s April newsletter , chairman Peter Whiers announced the Harry's Home Village Tour Guides initiative, which he described as an effort to “elevate our offerings and ensure that visitors have a truly memorable experience” visiting Styles’ hometown.

According to the job description , the village is seeking people with a “flair for storytelling” and a “genuine interest in Holmes Chapel with a good knowledge of its history, including Harry Styles and his roots here.”

The role is perfect for anyone looking to “combine [their] love of Harry Styles with a rewarding job as a tour guide,” and applications are open until April 15. The tours are set to start in June.

Nathan Stirk/2024 Getty

The guided walking tour is a step up from what Holmes Chapel had previously been offering — a Harry Styles Walking Map, which launched in 2023. More than 5,000 people visited the village to follow the map, Whiers wrote in the newsletter, leading to a “significant increase in footfall.”

Two of the most visited destinations in the village were Mandeville’s, the bakery where Styles worked before auditioning for The X Factor in 2010, and the Twemlow Viaduct, which is referred to as “Harry’s Wall.”

“Even during the wet winter months, Harries have continued to visit, braving muddy banks and wet fields to pay homage at Harry's Wall,” Whiers wrote in the newsletter. “Local businesses have seized the opportunity to cater to these visitors, with references to Harry in various locations around the village.”

The village, and the bakery in particular, were highlighted in One Direction 's tour movie, 2013's One Direction: This Is Us , which saw each of the boy band members bring cameras along for a behind-the-scenes look at their lives in their hometowns before their worldwide fame. In one particularly beloved clip from the documentary, Styles made a surprise visit to Mandeville's and some of the older women running the shop were over the moon to see him.

Catherine Ivill/Getty

While it's been quite a few years since the "As It Was" singer resided in his hometown, Styles has been seen out and about in London and its outskirts over the last few months, including with his girlfriend Taylor Russell .

In February, he debuted a new, shorter haircut as he attended a Premier League match between Manchester United and Luton Town at Kenilworth Road Stadium in Bedfordshire. It was the first time he'd been seen since he shocked fans — and the internet — with a buzz cut , which was on display as he attended a U2 concert at The Sphere in Las Vegas with his Bones and All actress girlfriend in November 2023.

More recently, the pair were seen together in New York City, and the singer looked particularly chic in a brown cashmere sweater from The Row while carrying the brand's viral Margaux bag , which retails for $4,390.

The nine best bets to win this year’s Masters

guide tour com

The PGA Tour schedule so far this season has been ruled by long shots. Take away Scottie Scheffler’s two victories in 2024, and the tournament winners have mainly come out of nowhere.

That trend is unlikely to continue this week at the Masters , where surprise winners are rare. Yes, you’ll occasionally see triumphant golfers such as 60-to-1 long shot Danny Willett in 2016 or 40-to-1 Hideki Matsuyama in 2021, but most Masters champions follow the same criteria: They have good history at Augusta National, good form entering the tournament and good standing in certain key metrics.

While it’s hard to judge the form of the 13 LIV golfers in the field because they play less often and in less-challenging fields, we have a pretty good sense of what a Masters winner should look like:

He’s good at Augusta National: According to Datagolf, course history is far more predictive at Augusta National than at any other course in the PGA Tour rotation. Nine of the past 14 winners (and 13 of the past 18) had a previous green jacket or a top-10 Masters finish.

He’s not a Masters rookie or an amateur: Only three players have won the Masters in their first appearance at the tournament, the last being Fuzzy Zoeller in 1979. I won’t be considering the following Augusta National first-timers: Ludvig Aberg, Wyndham Clark, Eric Cole, Nick Dunlap, Austin Eckroat, Ryo Hisatsune, Lee Hodges, Nicolai Hojgaard, Jake Knapp, Peter Malnati, Denny McCarthy, Grayson Murray, Matthieu Pavon, Adam Schenk and Stephan Jaeger. Plus, no amateur has won the Masters, and there are five in this year’s field: Santiago de la Fuente, Stewart Hagestad, Christo Lamprecht, Neal Shipley and Jasper Stubbs. In terms of picks to win, you can ignore them.

He’s highly ranked: Of the past 24 Masters winners, 17 entered the tournament in the top 12 of the Official World Golf Ranking, and 22 were in the top 30. But because the OWGR does not award ranking points to LIV golfers , who have plummeted down the rankings board, this trend has become a bit dicey. LIV’s Brooks Koepka had at least a share of the lead for the first three rounds at last year’s Masters before he fell apart on Sunday.

He’s in good form: Of the past 13 Masters champions, only Matsuyama in 2021 did not have at least two top-12 stroke-play finishes in the calendar year of the tournament, either on the PGA Tour or the European Tour. These golfers haven’t exactly been tearing it up this year (or are well past their primes), and they’re off my list: Fred Couples, Rickie Fowler, Ryan Fox, Lucas Glover, Sungjae Im, Zach Johnson, Tom Kim, Kurt Kitayama, Min Woo Lee, Luke List, Phil Mickelson, Collin Morikawa, José María Olazábal, Patrick Reed, Justin Rose, Charl Schwartzel, Vijay Singh, Sepp Straka, Camilo Villegas, Bubba Watson, Mike Weir, Willett, Gary Woodland and Tiger Woods.

He’s good on par-4s: Of the past 11 Masters champions, nine ranked first, second or third in the field in par-4 scoring during the tournament. Nine of the past 12 winners also entered the tournament ranked 11th or better in the PGA Tour’s par-4 birdie-or-better statistic . Rory McIlroy, for instance, ranks 70th in par-4 scoring and 72nd in par-4 birdie-or-better this season, and I won’t be betting him to end his Masters jinx this week. Other golfers who aren’t attacking par-4s this season include Cam Davis and Will Zalatoris (though the latter is tempting because of his strong Augusta National history).

He’s not the defending champion: Only three players since 1960 have won back-to-back Masters — Jack Nicklaus in 1965-66, Nick Faldo in 1989-90 and Tiger Woods in 2001-02. Since 2002, only Woods (2006) and Jordan Spieth (2016) have finished in the top five as the defending champion. Three of the past seven defending champions have missed the cut, and none of those seven finished better than Scheffler’s 10th last year. That means I won’t be betting Jon Rahm, last year’s winner , to repeat.

He didn’t win the week before: The last player to win the tournament immediately preceding the Masters and then win the green jacket was Phil Mickelson in 2006. Since then, only two golfers (Anthony Kim in 2010 and Spieth in 2021) have won the week before and then finished in the top 10 at Augusta. Akshay Bhatia, who just won the Texas Open , will not be on my card.

Now that we’ve eliminated 49 golfers from the field of 89, let’s take a look at a few who can actually win. Odds are as of Tuesday morning at DraftKings Sportsbook :

Scottie Scheffler (+450)

Betting Scheffler at any tournament these days means accepting preposterously low odds, and the Masters is no different. The champion from two years ago and the OWGR No. 1 is again the favorite, for ample reasons. Scheffler has won two of his past three tournaments and was a missed six-footer away from forcing a playoff at the Houston Open two weekends ago. His worst finish this calendar year was a tie for 17th at the American Express; he has been in the top 10 in his seven other tournaments. The knock on Scheffler has always been his putting, but he has gained strokes on the greens in five of his past six tournaments after an equipment change. He’s first on the PGA Tour in par-4 scoring and par-4 birdie-or-better. What’s not to like here, other than the low odds?

Xander Schauffele (+1400)

Schauffele is probably the best player without a major championship (though he does have an Olympic gold medal ), and you have to think he’s about due: The world’s fifth-ranked player has far more top-10s (11) than missed cuts (three) in his 26 major appearances. Three of those top-10s came at Augusta National. Schauffele, who has finished T-5 or better in three of his past four tournaments, trails only Scheffler in par-4 scoring this season and is tied for 17th in par-4 birdie-or-better. And how about this from Kyle Porter of CBS Sports ? Nine of the past 11 Masters winners had gained at least 1.7 strokes tee to green per round in the three months leading into the tournament. Only two PGA Tour golfers fit that bill this year: Scheffler and Schauffele.

Hideki Matsuyama (+2000)

Matsuyama already has a green jacket as the 2021 champion. He also has some blinding form, with a win in February at Riviera (a good course comparison to Augusta National), followed by a tie for 12th at the Arnold Palmer Invitational and a tie for sixth at the Players Championship (two tournaments with elite fields), plus a tie for seventh last weekend in Texas. Matsuyama is one of three golfers in the field to finish at least in the top 25 in each of the past four Masters — Scheffler and Shane Lowry are the others — and he can’t be overlooked.

Joaquín Niemann (+2800)

I think Niemann has one of the better shots out of all the LIV golfers because he comes in with white-hot form: three wins and four top-fives since November, with one of those victories in a full-field DP World Tour event. (LIV golfers can play on the European tour.) He’s also one of only two LIV golfers to average at least two strokes gained per round this season. (Rahm is the other; Dustin Johnson — No. 3 on that list — is well behind both at 1.54 strokes gained per round.) Niemann’s best finish at Augusta National is a tie for 16th last year, but he has made the cut each of the past three years.

Tony Finau (+4000)

Every year, it seems, golf fans get talked into considering Finau at the Masters, and every year he seems to do just okay: He has never missed the cut in six Augusta National appearances, with three top-10s. This year, the world’s 26th-ranked player has missed just one cut in PGA Tour play and tied for second at the Houston Open, his most recent event. Finau can be a little wild off the tee, but that shortcoming is negated a bit at Augusta National because the rough isn’t very penal, and Finau shines at courses with short rough .

Shane Lowry (+6000)

The 2019 British Open champion has been picking up steam as the season has worn on, with a tie for fourth at the Cognizant and a solo third the next week at the Arnold Palmer. Lowry has finished no worse than a tie for 25th in his past four Augusta National appearances and tied for third two years ago. He’s top-20 in par-4 scoring and par-4 birdie-or-better this season.

Sahith Theegala (+5000)

The 26-year-old has played in only one Masters, but it was a ninth-place finish at last year’s tournament. This year, the world No. 15 has four top-10 finishes, with three of them coming over his past five events. Theegala is a respectable 24th in par-4 scoring and 31st in par-4 birdie-or-better.

Cameron Young (+5000)

Young is coming off a tie for seventh at last year’s Masters, has four top-10s this year and is respectable enough on par-4s (12th in par-4 birdie or better, 31st in par-4 scoring). And while Young has yet to win on the PGA Tour, he has four top-10s in major tournaments, including a tie for eighth at last year’s British Open. A win is coming, and it could be at Augusta National.

Jason Day (+6500)

The Aussie, ranked 21st, has the 2015 PGA Championship title on his résumé, and he has finished in second place in each of the other three majors, most recently at last year’s British Open. Day’s recent Masters form has been spotty (two missed cuts and a tie for 39th in his past three visits), but he has four Augusta National top-10s in his career. This season, Day has posted three top-10s and ranks in the top 10 in par-4 scoring and par-4 birdie-or-better.
