The cruise trends to know about for 2024

Whether you’re a regular on board or new to cruising, it’s worth taking note of these cruise trends

cruise trends 2024

If you’re looking to save money on a cruise in 2024, you’ll want to learn all about ‘repositioning cruises’, while solo travellers will find it heartening to hear that cruise lines have listened to demand and are looking to up their single cabin spaces this year. Meanwhile, first-time cruisers are on the rise, as are themed and family-friendly cruises. Responding to an increased focus on wellness , there will also be more healthy options aboard your favourite ships this year, plus a welcome rise in more convenient departure points, from London to Liverpool.

These trends might help you to decide where to go on your next cruise, as there are so many destinations and routes to choose from. Some of the best let you explore places which are difficult to reach on foot, like some of Scotland’s most remote islands and Croatia 's hidden coves. You can also see the fairytale castles dotted along the Garonne and Dordogne rivers or the rolling vineyards flanking the Douro Valley .

There’s a lot to know – and even more to see – so read on for our breakdown of the biggest cruise trends to know now.

Screen-inspired voyages

cruise trends 2024

From Channel 5’s The Cruise: Fun Loving Brits to dramas like Good Ship Murder , there are plenty of TV series based on cruise ships around at the moment. Naturally, these are inspiring existing fans and newbie cruise-takers alike to step aboard, with a predicted cruise market growth boost of 15 per cent (following a record-breaking 2023).

Cruising with Susan Calman , also on Channel 5, is set to inspire more ocean voyages, as the comedian, writer and presenter travels along the Douro river as part of her third series onboard. You can follow in her footsteps with Good Housekeeping’s wonderful wine-tasting cruise along the River Douro .

Another great source of screen inspiration is Jane McDonald, who we’ve all enjoyed watching voyage around the world on incredible cruises, taking in unforgettable sights like the Northern Lights and the Ganges in India . Try Good Housekeeping’s take on the latter by cruising down the Ganges and discovering India’s Golden Triangle with Atul Kochhar.

A love for true all-inclusives

cruise trends 2024

One of the best things about an all-inclusive cruise is that you can be totally sure of your budget before leaving home, and enjoy the freedom and relaxation that comes with that. It's not hard to see why all-inclusive cruises are set to rise in popularity (following a rise in 2023).

One of our favourite all-inclusive cruises winds through Vietnam and Cambodia, which are connected by the mighty Mekong River . You can enjoy 17 days aboard the ornately decorated Mekong Jewel without worrying about any unexpected bills at the end.

Those looking for a culinary-focused all-inclusive cruise will love Good Housekeeping’s Bordeaux Cruise, in which you can taste your way around historic vineyards and beautiful chateaux. Former MasterChef judge Monica Galetti will visit a local farmer's market with you, where you'll source fresh ingredients for a live cooking demonstration.

If you’re more partial to the Italian food scene, another unforgettable gourmet all-inclusive experience comes in the form of Good Housekeeping's eight-day cruise of the Venetian Lagoon with Michelin-starred chef Angela Hartnett. The renowned chef will accompany a tour of the famous Rialto market before a live demonstration.

Rise in family-friendly cruises

cruise trends 2024

Cruises can be a great solo or romantic venture, but with larger cabins on the up, it might be time to start planning a family cruise. Imagine a multigenerational adventure on board a beautiful ship, surrounded by children and grandchildren (with the privacy of your own separate cabin, if you’d prefer).

There’s something to suit every age group on a family-friendly cruise, with plenty of time for bonding – as well as invaluable kids’ clubs.

Cruising to cooler climes in hot summers

cruise trends 2024

As European summer temperatures soar, travellers are voting with their feet and heading to cooler climes in the sunnier seasons. Iglu Cruise’s research shows an increase in 201 per cent in demand for cruises to the Arctic in 2023 versus 2022, with increasingly popular options including Canada and Alaska. You can get the most out of the latter on Good Housekeeping’s incredible cruise aboard the Rocky Mountaineer, which takes in Canada’s wilderness, British Columbia and Alaska.

For something closer to home but still pleasantly cool in the summer months, why not island-hop around the Outer Hebrides, learning all about the western isles’ fascinating history. Known and loved for their wonderful landscapes and distinctive whiskies, this active six-day tour will show you the best of the Outer Hebrides.

Repositioning cruises

cruise trends 2024

If you’re looking for a way to save money on a cruise holiday, this is the trend to know. Some great deals can be found on cruises that spend days at sea followed by island hopping, from Europe to the Caribbean for example, as ships are repositioned for the next season.

Themed cruises

cruise trends 2024

New themed cruises are being announced on a regular basis, from stargazing expeditions to Pride-focused ships setting sail in 2024. Others will feature a focus on performances and talks. How about workshops and screenings by the Royal Shakespeare Company on board Cunard’s Queen Mary 2 ? Or a chance to hear from the BBC’s favourite weather presenter, Carol Kirkwood on Good Housekeeping’s tour of Scotland’s islands. Carol will join for part of the cruise, which includes Loch Ness, Loch Nevis, Iona and much more aboard the Lord of the Glens.

Sometimes, the destination is enough of a theme in itself, especially when it comes to bucket-list cruises like our crafts and Northern Lights cruise. As you sail, you'll have several wonderful craft workshops to enjoy, many drawing inspiration from the Aurora themselves.

When the festive season comes around, there could be no more heartwarming theme than Europe’s prettiest Christmas markets, which is exactly what’s explored in Good Housekeeping’s cruise along the Rhine Valley. This special Christmas cruise will take you to Germany’s best winter markets, for scenes swathed in fairy lights and sprinklings of snow.

Another themed cruise inspired by its picture-perfect destination is Good Housekeeping’s tour of Holland's waterways, gardens and tulip fields with Adam Frost. When spring comes around, the Netherlands’ fields burst into colour – and there’s no better way to see them than this.

Space for solo travellers

cruise trends 2024

A cruise is an ideal way to dip a toe into the world of solo travel, with sociable, accessible adventures on offer around the world. Traditionally, a lack of single cabins has meant that solo cruisers need to be extremely organised and book very early before things get booked up.

This year, however, a number of cruise lines are focusing on increasing the amount of cabins per ship for solo travellers.

Cruise and stay

cruise trends 2024

Iglu Cruise has reported an increase in demand for combination holidays, which include multiple destinations and feature a ‘cruise and stay’ element, which means passengers stay on land at the end (or beginning) of a sea voyage. A perfect example is Good Housekeeping’s incredible trip that takes in the major historical and archeological sites of Cambodia and Vietnam, with a luxury river cruise and stays at the finest five-star hotels. It truly is the best of both worlds.

Another is our trip through India, which begins with a land tour of the famous ‘Golden Triangle’ (the cities of Delhi, Jaipur, and Agra) and a stay at luxurious five-star Oberoi Hotels. Then it’s on to a seven-night cruise down the sacred Ganges River, where magnificent temples and local villages await.

Healthier options at sea

cruise trends 2024

There will no longer be any need to leave your healthy habits on dry land (unless you’re looking for some carefree indulgence, of course). Responding to passengers’ increasingly healthy lifestyles and focus on wellness, many cruise lines will offer lighter menus and tailored facilities.

This could be anything from complimentary wellness consultations on board or fresh, ‘clean’ cuisine to rooms furnished in lighter colours to support the idea of a refreshing break.

Convenient departure points

cruise trends

In 2023, London Tilbury rose in popularity and began to challenge Southampton for the UK’s most convenient cruise departure point. Good Housekeeping’s crafts and Northern Lights cruise departs from Tilbury, before heading to the Orkney and Faroe Islands, then sailing through Iceland for a glimpse of the Northern Lights.

There’s no doubt that offering a variety of UK ports for embarkation will bring the idea of cruising to more of the UK, as who isn’t looking for the easiest, most stress-free way to start a holiday? If you’re leaving from the North of England and don’t fancy a long drive, Good Housekeeping’s Scandi springtime cruise departs from Newcastle, and includes stops in Oslo and Gothenburg.

Another of Good Housekeeping’s delightful springtime cruises takes in the isles of Scotland over the May Bank Holiday. There’s endless entertainment on board, plus visits to Fingal's Cave, the Sound of Mull, Bac Mor, Stornoway and the Neolithic sites of Skara Brae. What’s more, it departs from Liverpool.

Small cruise ships

cruise trends 2024

Ships are being launched at either end of the size spectrum, with large liners appearing alongside smaller, boutique vessels to appeal to a different kind of passenger. Sometimes, a destination calls for small, river-style cruise ships, and Venice is one such place. In fact, Good Housekeeping’s cruise to the floating city takes place on the only luxury cruise line allowed to enter it, which means you can explore its labyrinthine canals and peaceful waterways, along with the islands of Burano, Mazzorbo and Torcello.

Another small but perfectly formed ship can be boarded for Good Housekeeping’s tour along Croatia's Dalmatian coastline. This takes place on a Supreme category ship, which carries a maximum of 41 passengers, and explores the picturesque coastal towns, serene islands and historical wonders of this beautiful coastline.

Rise in new-to-cruise

cruise trends 2024

Newcomers to the cruise world are increasingly open to taking an ocean voyage, and 2024 is the year of the new-to-cruise passenger. Many first timers will opt for shorter lengths at sea, dipping their toe into the waters if you will. Good Housekeeping’s Scandi cruise is six days long, while our trip around Holland’s waterways lasts for five days, offering a more approachable duration.

Another option favoured by newbies is to take a cruise around the UK. Good Housekeeping’s cruise around the Scottish Highlands is a great way to take in stunning scenery a little closer to home, aboard the small ship, Lord of the Glens.

Speaking of smaller, boutique ships, this can be another option that suits newcomers, as they don’t feel as daunting as boarding a large ocean liner. To experience something more intimate, don’t miss Good Housekeeping’s cruise along Croatia’s glorious Dalmatian coast.

Iglu

Predicting future travel trends is not for the faint-hearted, but the expert team at Iglu Cruise provides their predictions for 2024, based on booking patterns and customer insights. As the leading independent cruise travel agent, Iglu Cruise uniquely has sight of the entire range of cruise holidays available and is constantly listening to the requests of their hundreds of thousands of guests. They work with all major cruise lines to understand what's new and what's in the offing in terms of the cruising experience. The start of 2024 is a key turning point in cruise, with the launch of brand new ships, customer confidence at a high, and many newcomers starting to cruise.

Here are their predictions for 2024:

More growth

Following a record-breaking year in 2023 for cruise sales, Iglu Cruise is forecasting further overall market growth in 2024 of 15%, not least due to new TV series based on board ships, such as Channel 5's Good Ship Murder , and The Cruise: Fun Loving Brits, also on Channel 5. Growth will come from those who are new to the world of cruising; from those returning to cruise after a break during the pandemic, and those who begin to take more cruises each year, given the plethora of new onboard experiences, destinations and themed cruises, giving even more reasons to travel.

Rise in regional departures

2023 saw London Tilbury rise in popularity and begin to challenge Southampton as a convenient  UK departure point. Offering a variety of UK ports for embarkation brings the idea of cruising to the whole of the UK, and offers the most easy and stress-free way to start a holiday. Virgin Voyages will start cruises on board Resilient Lady from Portsmouth, and Ambassador now offer cruises from seven UK ports.

Rise in true all-inclusives

Demand for true all-inclusive sailings  is on the rise, as guests look to be totally sure of their budgets before leaving home. Iglu Cruise notes a particular interest in cruises where no tipping is required, to avoid the uncertainty of how much to tip, to whom and when to do it. Cruise lines offering all inclusive sailings include Marella Cruises; Seabourn and Celebrity Cruises.

Rise in family cruises

As more capacity is added to the cruise market, more family cabins become available. This opens up a world of opportunity for family and multigenerational cruises during school holidays, and outside term time for those with preschoolers. As awareness rises about all there is to do, in age-specific groups, classes and sports, Iglu Cruise only sees the number of families cruising rising. Iglu Cruise promotes MSC who chose Lego as an exclusive entertainment partner, to give all the children who cruise with MSC the chance to play with the best toys in the most fun environment.

Cruise Lines listen to needs of solo travellers who resolve to research single cabins

It's well known that the availability of single cabins for solo cruisers means that you have to book very early or wait until the last minute and not mind too much where you go and when. Iglu Cruise sees cruise lines improving the number of cabins per ship for solos and in particular recommend Norwegian Cruise Line, Fred. Olsen and Royal Caribbean Cruises for those looking for a cabin for sole occupancy.

More themed cruises

2024 will see more themed cruises, which are being announced on a regular basis. Iglu Cruise say guests are really appreciating the rise of themed, more immersive cruises. They see cruise lines becoming more and more creative with experiences available, designing very tempting holidays full of interest and stimulation. Iglu Cruise's top trending options for themed cruises include theatrical performances, workshops and screenings by the Royal Shakespeare Company on board Cunard's Queen Mary 2; Pride cruises in June; stargazing with astronomers on board Fred. Olsen's Balmoral and the chance to hear a talk from the BBC's favourite weather presenter, Carol Kirkwood on board Hurtigruten's MS Maud as she sails around the British Isles.

Rise in new-to-cruise

Social media cruise groups are full of questions from newcomers to the cruise world. Iglu Cruise sees many taking their first cruise around the UK , or to a particular country where it's easy to visit top sights by cruise ship such as Italy, Spain or Croatia. In general, cruise ships welcome those with accessibility needs well, with very high service levels, opening cruising to those who may not want to do battle with steps up to aircraft or long airport corridors.

Cruise and Stay on the rise

Responding to an increased demand for combination holidays , Iglu Cruise has developed a 'spice route' voyage from Mumbai to Sri Lanka and Singapore with an eight-night India's Tigers & Golden Triangle land tour. It means several bucket list items are being ticked off at once. An alternative would be a South Africa Exploration itinerary, including not only a cruise, but a tour of the world-famous Stellenbosch Wine Region and a safari experience.

Polarisation of small versus large ships

As the cruise market continues to mature, Iglu Cruise sees new ships being launched at either end of the spectrum, with smaller ships such as from Explora Journeys and Seabourn , coming into their own, compared with 6000+ passenger ships such as Icon of the Seas from Royal Caribbean Cruises, appealing to a totally different market.

Rise in interest in cruises to cooler climes in hot summers

To avoid very high summer temperatures, guests are voting with their feet and choosing cruises to cooler climes, where they can relax and enjoy the whole day and feel comfortable at night. Good choices are Scandinavia, Scotland, Ireland, Alaska , Canada and New England. Iglu Cruise's recent research showed at uplift in demand for the Arctic in 2023 versus 2022 of 201.3%.

Rise of interest in low-cost 'repositioning cruises'

There are some very attractive great value cruises which spend days at sea followed by island hopping, from Europe to the Caribbean for example, as ships are repositioned for the next season. Prices are very keen on such sailings, and this can be noted as a trend for cruisers to pick out these sailings as a way to cruise at a lower cost.

Cruise Lines listen to the needs of passengers pursuing a healthy lifestyle

As more and more people start to cruise, their individual needs and preferences will be more carefully met. Those looking to keep fit and eat healthily will be able to choose from lighter menus and more tailored facilities. A good example of this is Celebrity Cruises ' Aqua Class staterooms which are usually furnished in lighter colours to accentuate the feeling of a refreshing break. In Aqua Class guests enjoy an overall wellness experience with access to the on board spa areas, a complimentary wellness consultation, and exclusive access to the Blu restaurant with 'cleaner' cuisine. Their Spa Cafe & Juice Bar on the new Celebrity Ascent similarly features freshly prepared smoothies, juices and nutritious treats.

Mills said, ' I predict 2024 will be about more confidence returning to travelling, with people having more of a sense of 'carpe diem' and committing to creative and multi-faceted trips, to create brilliant memories and to have something of interest for each guest travelling. Whilst no-one knows what's around the corner, it's true to say that the demand for cruise is bigger than ever, due to a combination of factors including more choice of cruises; more capacity; higher awareness of this type of holiday; an interest in value-for-money holidays; general confidence in travel and more and more inspiring cruises, meaning it's easy to commit to many cruise holidays in any one year. We are confident about a strong 2024, and are even selling a lot of cruises for 2025. The message is to do your research, lean on an independent agent such as Iglu Cruise for the best deal and unbiased advice, and dream big in the year ahead'.

Why you should embark on a luxury Mediterranean cruise

Author: Lucy Abbott

Published on: 15 March 2024

A luxury Mediterranean cruise should be at the top of your bucket-list, here’s why

It’s all about going one step further with a luxury cruise, from caviar in the surf with Seabourn to unlimited shore excursions with Regent Seven Seas Cruises.

And once you opt for a luxury cruise, you can’t (and won’t want to) go back to your normal cruise line.

With the Mediterranean being one of the most popular cruise destinations year after year, first time cruisers should experience this diverse and stunning destination in the highest level of opulence possible.

Not forgetting our cruise addicts, who should sail to the Med from a new perspective – you’ll be surprised how different the view looks from a sumptuous Suite onboard a magnificent vessel.

And here’s where IGLU Cruise comes in, offering a wide range of tempting cruise deals – including luxury cruise packages tailored to your every desire. Booking a cruise has never been easier.

We take a look at four of our favourite luxury cruise deals from IGLU Cruise …

Explore Italy, Turkey and beyond with Regent Seven Seas Cruises

Known for its passenger to crew ratio of 1:1 and every luxury included ,Regent Seven Seas Cruises also crafts thoughtful itineraries just for you.

IGLU have packaged up a gorgeous Regent Seven Seas Cruises’ cruise with a stay in both Rome and Athens resulting in a 16-night ‘ Hidden Gems & Turkish Shores with Rome and Athens Stays’ departing September 26, 2024.

Including the cruise, flight and hotels, you’ll fly from London Heathrow to Rome, where you’ll stay for two nights in a five-star hotel.

Ensure you visit the likes of the historical Colosseum, Pantheon and follow the sound of the gentle water to the Trevi Fountain while in Rome.

After your initial Italian explorations, you’ll board Regent Seven Seas Navigator. This exclusive ship only holds 490 guests and offers all-Suite, all-Ocean View accommodation.

You’ll then sail to an impressive 10 ports of call, including an overnight stay in Istanbul. Here, you can visit the countless ornate columns of the Basilica Cistern which was built in 532. Also – don’t miss Misir Carsisi market where you can find a unique souvenir or pick up some spices to experiment with when you return home.

Finish your cruise with a two-night hotel stay in Athens. Saunter out of your four star hotel to wander the Acropolis of Athens or, alternatively, you can hit the beach with the Athens Riviera that stretches a glorious 35 miles

Sail the Adriatic Sea with Silversea

With butler service in every Suite, 24-hour dining service and over 80% of Suites boasting private verandas – Silversea is set to impress.

And IGLU Cruise have taken Seabourn’s offering one step further with the ‘ Adriatic Sea – Venice roundtrip with Venice Island stay’ cruise package departing July 6, 2024, across 9 nights.

So, you’ll fly to Italy to stay for two nights in a five-star hotel in Venice where you can snap a picture on the Rialto Bridge and admire the décor of St Mark’s Square – before returning to your centrally-located hotel. Sounds like the perfect two day stay to us.

After your explorations, you’ll board Silver Whisper on day three, and sail to seven ports of call.

Our favourites from the impressive itinerary are Hvar Town, full to the brim of cafes, restaurants and bars encapsulated by the ancient walls and looked over by the imposing Spanish fortress.

Known as one of Croatia’s best kept secrets, Zadar is well worth the visit. Appreciate the intimate feel as you explore this port of call and be sure to pay a visit to the Roman Forum that features the ‘pillar of shame’ that used to punish criminals.

Cruise from Barcelona to Monte Carlo with Seabourn

Take advantage of this 9 night ‘ Riviera Gems & the Calanques from Barcelona to Monte Carlo with stay’ packaged by IGLU Cruise departing October 17, 2024.

Picture this – standing in your ocean-front Suite with a glass of welcome champagne in hand, with the knowledge that you are surrounded by only 600-like minded guests. Sounds like heaven to us.

But, before you get to experience the luxury of Seabourn Sojourn, you can look forward to a two-night stay in Barcelona. As a city famed for its architecture, you have to marvel at Gaudí designed Park Guell, Casa Batllo as well as the Sagrada Familia.

And you can expect the same level of grandeur from your hotel as you do from Seabourn, as you’ll be lapping up the luxury in a five-star hotel.

Seven ports of call await with Seabourn – from Palamos which is known for endless stretches of sandy beaches and particularly juicy prawns to Cannes, where you can admire the beautiful harbour full of yachts.

What’s more, onboard Seabourn Sojourn you can relax completely as all dining venues, Wi-Fi, tipping, water sports (in select destinations) and more are complimentary – so no worrying about the final bill.

IGLU Cruise also offer you up to an extra £200 off per Suite – now, how can you say no to that? Book before 17th March to receive this offer!

Black Sea sailing with Oceania Cruises

Fancy a free double cabin upgrade? Well IGLU Cruise are giving away the goods with this 'Bridge to the Black Sea with Athens & Istanbul Stays' departing July 5, 2024, across 14 nights onboard Riviera.

Oceania Cruises offer a small luxurious ship which caters to 1,250 guests and features 24 hour butler service in all suites as well as free champange, wine and more – don't mind if we do.

This itinerary stands out with two overnight stays – one in Kusadasi, Turkey, and one in Istanbul – as well as a pre-and-post-cruise stay.

Located on Turkey's western Aegean coast, Kusadasi's top attraction include 'Ladies Beach', with it's soft golden sand and palm trees, as well as Kusadadi Castle, which was built to defend the harbour from sea attacks and boasts impressive views over the harbour.

And Istanbul also impresses, with an extensive history that dates back thousands of years. Let the locals should you around mosques that will take your breath away and be sure to sample some aromatic mezes and fresh seafood.

In fact, after your overnight stay in Istanbul you can dive headfirst into the destination with a two night hotel stay at the end of your cruise.

As for your pre-cruise stay, you'll stay in Athens, one of the oldest cities in the world. Some fantastic free things to do during your time here include strolling through the National Garden next to the Parliament building and witnessing the changing of the presidential guards on the hour outside the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.

Why you should book a tailor-made cruise & stay package: 5 top holidays for 2024 & 2025

Cruise and Stay holidays bring together the thrill of sailing the waterways of the world with the leisure of a more traditional holiday – here’s why a tailor-made package could be best for you.

In association with:

Iglu Cruise

Cruise and Stay holidays – what are they? A hybrid getaway, these package escapes see travellers enjoy the magic of cruising as well as the pleasure of extending their stay on land, before or/and after their break.

It’s easy to wish you had more time in your departure port, but it can be tricky when the focus of the day is to embark your ship. However, if you book a Cruise and Stay holiday you can arrive several days in advance of the sailing, live the high life in a pre-arranged hotel and explore the city to the max. Alternatively, tack on a getaway after your voyage; you could even take a land tour too and head out into the countryside. In short, stay and cruise holidays are the best of both worlds!

Cruise specialists, Iglu Cruise , offer a raft of tailor-made Cruise and Stay holidays 2024 and beyond, ensuring holidaymakers get their fix of turf and surf. A key benefit of booking a cruise package with a travel agent like Iglu is that not only is the hard work done for you, from flights to accommodation, but it can also work out at great value for money.

With Cruise and Stay deals, plus special promotions, you can enjoy significant savings compared to planning individual components of your trip. Take advantage of early booking discounts, onboard credits, exclusive perks and more to make the most of your holiday budget.

What’s more, unlike conventional holidays, where you’re confined to a single location, tailor-made Cruise and Stay holidays offer unparalleled flexibility and you can enjoy the freedom to curate your itinerary according to your interests and preferences. It’s no surprise that Cruise and Stay holidays are a super way for beginners to dip their toes into the cruise universe!

Jetsetters can travel anywhere on the planet, too, from South America to Sri Lanka – the world really is your oyster. White sand beaches? Ancient ruins ? Do it all! We’ve rounded up an array of Iglu Cruise’s Cruise and Stay holidays 2025 and 2024. Whether you’re after a Caribbean Cruise and Stay holidays, Asia Cruise and Stay holidays, All Inclusive Cruise and Stay holidays… and everything in between, there’s a package for you!

Iglu Cruise reveals top 2024 trends

iglu world cruises 2024

All-inclusive sailings, family trips, combination holidays and themed cruises are among the top trends for 2024, according to Iglu Cruise.

The cruise travel agency has shared its predictions for the year ahead, based on booking patterns and customer insights.

Travellers are opting for all-inclusive sailings, particularly where no tipping is required. Multi-generational trips during the school holidays are also gaining traction, with more family cabins becoming available.

Demand for combination holidays has led to Iglu Cruise’s new ‘spice route’ voyage from Mumbai to Sri Lanka and Singapore with an eight-night  India’s Tigers & Golden Triangle  land tour.

Next year will see more themed, immersive cruises offering experiences ranging from theatrical performances and workshops to Pride and stargazing with astronomers.

Cruise lines are seeking to meet the needs of singles, with a rise in solo cabins per ship. Research also showed an uplift in demand for the Artic in 2023 versus 2022, underscoring a trend for cooler climes.

Dave Mills, Chief Commercial Officer at Iglu Cruise, said: “I predict 2024 will be about an increased confidence to travelling, with people having a sense of ‘carpe diem’ and committing to creative and multi-faceted trips, to create brilliant memories and to have something of interest for each guest travelling.

“The demand for cruise is larger than ever, due to a combination of factors including more choice of cruises; more capacity; higher awareness of this type of holiday; an interest in value-for-money holidays; general confidence in travel and inspiring cruises, meaning it’s easy to commit to many cruise holidays in one year. We are confident about a strong 2024 and are even selling a lot of cruises for 2025.”

ROYAL CARIBBEAN CRUISE 2024-26 GUIDE

When it comes to planning the ultimate getaway, there are so many reasons why cruise vacations rank among the most popular travel options. First of all, they’re completely stress-free. On a cruise vacation, all the planning is taken care of by the cruise line — from the  destinations  you sail to and the  shore excursions  available at each port, to a full range of  entertainment  and activities happening onboard every day. If you’re not a planner, or if the only things you’re looking to focus on during your getaway is savoring great food, relaxing, and soaking up the sights, cruise vacations are the way to go. A cruise vacation is also a great option if you’re traveling with the whole family, especially when you opt for a Royal Caribbean cruise. All of the ships in this cruise line’s fleet offer family-friendly experiences for guests of all ages. Even little ones will find plenty of ways to play with spaces and activities designed for tots to tweens. One of the top reasons savvy travelers love cruising, though, is because of the incredible value it offers. With Royal Caribbean, your cruise fare includes access to most of the ship’s attractions, select dining venues and all of the entertainment onboard. If you want to make your  experience  even more all-inclusive, you can opt for  beverage  and  specialty dining  packages that cover drinks and dinner at some of the most exclusive restaurants in the fleet. On top of all that, the cruise line presents frequent limited-time offers and seasonal sales, making it easy to score big savings when booking your vacation.
